Jupiter and Saturn are approaching their exact trine a week from today. Therefore, the energy of their pairing is very strong this week, in all our lives.

These are slow-moving planets, they represent longer cycles in our lives, things that develop over months and years. For instance, if you're studying towards a degree, building a big website, building a business, working on a big project at work, taking care of aging parents, seeking serious help for medical issues, applying for citizenship in another country, etc... all these are Jupiter-Saturn coded by the fact they take up such long stretches of time in our life.

Also, Jupiter & Saturn are both related to our development in life. Learning skills over long periods of time, acquiring experience and becoming much more competent, practicing our craft at higher levels, expanding into new territories, cultivating our understanding of the practical affairs of life, understanding what life is and becoming ever-more wise with the years that pass.

Therefore, when Jupiter and Saturn come together, it is the meeting point of these greater cycles of progress & development. So right now, in the last week of August, we are particularly likely to see important progress in our endeavors, to recognize how much we have learned in the past, to observe how much there is to yet to learn in the future.

It's a time window where floating ideas can suddenly click into place and come together, after many weeks or months of frustration or confusion. It doesn't mean the work is done by any means - Jupiter and Saturn will continue moving and meet again and again in different aspects in the future. But right NOW we are taking important steps in our current circumstances.

It is also a time where we can experience a growth spurt, especially noticeable in young people, if you have some in your life. This growth spurt is not really physical - it's more mental. Noticing you understand something better than ever before. Seeing that you are more adult in the way you handle a difficult situation. Noticing how practical you have become in your worldly dealings after enough experience. Experiencing critical turning points where you feel your life taking a certain direction with greater velocity.

People who have been influential in your life in the past are very likely to come up right now, even if it's just in your mind. People you have worked with on projects before, people who are very competent and masterful, people who you admire in your field - these are all frontline at the moment.

In fact, teaching figures of any kind are forefront, given that the Sun and Mercury have also just moved into Virgo. Therefore, you're very likely to be working with someone giving you professional counsel, and reaching a greater feeling of appreciation for them. So - having a mentor, a coach, someone who is training you, someone you're learning from. And it goes both ways - this can be a period where you are the teacher and experiencing the gift of transmitting your knowledge to a captivated audience.

The Sun and Mercury are both in Virgo now.

All the hoo ha of Leo, out! The brains and explorations of Mercury, IN!

You may notice your attention suddenly moving towards more practical matters.

Labeling and organising messy things, putting everything in its right place, starting to do some serious research on an interesting topic, exploring different apps and software, writing things, working out your copy, asking tons of questions, learning intently.

This period is particularly exciting because of the lunar eclipse! Therefore, something you’ve meant to address for a WHILE is now front and center, actualizing.

So you’re likely getting documents in order, sorting out the files on your computer, picking up some books, or playing around with different tools. People who have valuable information - teachers of any kind - are ESPECIALLY highlighted during this period. Because Jupiter and Saturn are exactly trine during the eclipse!

So you’re likely to reflect on those who have influenced you in the past, think about all the competence you have built over the years, actively work with a mentor or a coach of some kind, and update your big vision for the future, which is very likely to be taking a significant step forward right NOW!

It was his first time visiting India. Everything was completely foreign. The language people spoke. The writing on the billboards and on the shops. The temples that rounded every corner like coffee shops in a Western city. He saw people sitting in large groups on the gats, praying, chanting, lighting candles. Others washed in the river - he would later find out that this is a place of pilgrimage, where Indians from every state gather to cleanse in the holy Ganga. The river itself was a putrid brown, but no matter.

He was completely dazzled with the energy of it all. Bells were ringing everywhere, music would arise and collapse in the distance. Cows, monkeys, goats, all walked amongst the people, and defecated just everywhere. He stepped in some poo and learned to watch his feet.

In every direction he was struck with the feeling of being a stranger, but at the same time, being completely free in his anonymity. The people here do not follow the customs so ingrained within him. He immediately felt a giddiness - here he can explore being a nobody, another tourist in a nondescript string of travellers. At last, he made it to another world. ♓️

Transit Venus is currently at 4°Cancer

So that means, transit Venus is exactly conjunct my natal Mars in the 2nd house today.

Here are a few stories from tonight that wonderfully illustrate this transit:

I had the bright idea to make coleslaw today. Actually, I wanted to pick up some fried fish from the local Indian restaurant, and I thought coleslaw would make good company. Of course, to make coleslaw, you need to shred some cabbage. Well, we didn’t really have a great tool for that, so I used a regular potato peeler instead, rapidly shaving it down. I had never used that technique before, and I was so pleased with myself giving it a try, it was really fun cutting the cabbage in that manner. However, the vessel I chose was far too small, so cabbage started flying everywhere in the kitchen, then carrot, then red onion, my boyfriend and I were laughing maniacally at the absolute mess I had made. Who knew that cutting vegetables like a madman could also be an amazing bonding experience.
Then it was time to go pick up the fish. But my boyfriend had a second idea: why don’t we also stop by the bank so we can get a roll of 10-cent coins. Some context: Alex and I live in a tiny house that has no running water (or any amenities, really). Therefore, we have to go every single day to fill up our water tank so we have water for drinking and cleaning. It costs 10 cents per 10 litres of water. Therefore, we must stay stocked on 10 cent coins at all times. It’s been literally months since I took part in the coin stocking, but today was finally the day to get our water money!
On our way there, we had a big dilemma to resolve. We had one 10 euro bill. The fish cost 6 euros, the coins also cost 6 euros. So we were 2 euro short of having enough for both. Therefore, we decided I had better pay with card at the restaurant. Well, I went into the restaurant knowing full well that they prefer cash, bracing for impact when I’d tell them I’m paying with card. First of all, the guy told me 5 euro. I was flabbergasted, but as we often go there, they sometimes give us discounts. I looked at him sheepishly whilst retrieving my card, for him to tell me, no, just take it and pay us 5 euro next time. I decided that was ok since we know each other, but returned to the car slightly embarrassed. Then we made our way to the bank. Turns out, the coins were also only 5 euro. O M G. So we had enough cash from the get-go! Alex had a bright idea- why don’t we take just one roll of coins and then return to the restaurant to pay them the 5 euro we owe. I was half laughing half crying at the insanity, but agreed it’s a good idea. Meanwhile, the fish was getting cold in the backseat because of our crazy money mishap. Nevertheless, it felt great to go back and give them the 5 euro, in freaking small coins!
