Often our mind can want one thing while our heart longs for another. When they are out of alignment, it can feel as though we are sending mixed signals. Our brain can be 10 steps ahead, while our heart is looking to catch up & live from greater embodiment.

Our truth, our soul essence, lies in the depths of the heart. When there are conditioning, static, limiting beliefs, or simply differences of opinion within the brain and heart, this can also result in confusion, internal conflict, or an inability to move forward. It can be like being in a canoe with two people, but they are paddling in different directions, so you end up going nowhere, stagnant, or perhaps even spinning around in circles.

We want our heart and brain to be paddling in the same direction.

What could cause such a dissonance? For example, you may feel ready to share your gifts out in the world, but perhaps in your heart there is an inner child part who doesn’t feel it’s good enough. Often, when a part of ourselves doesn’t feel safe enough, it can block the very thing we are trying to call in. This is where further self-exploration can come in.

You can practice asking each part:
What does my mind think? (brain)
What genuinely feels aligned in my heart and body? What actually feels good? (heart & body intelligence)

Are they in unison? On the same team? The mind often speaks through words, the heart and body through sensations.

When the heart and brain are working together, decisions feel clearer, we flow more naturally and move with greater ease.

Strengthening the Heart-Brain Coherence

A dear friend recently left me a voicenote and said, “I’m not sure how to say this in English, but something happened this week that created sparkles? I noticed some sparkles this week…”

She went on to describe something that had triggered or bothered her that week, but I fell in love with the way she said it. You see, I’ve grown a bit tired of the word “triggers” as it can have such a negative connotation. They are called triggers because they hit upon a wound or vulnerable part, and yes, they aren’t always pleasant, but they aren’t “bad things.” To notice them is actually a gift, a beautiful doorway to explore the root of what is bothering us, to see what parts of us need love, to transmute them - with greater freedom waiting on the other side.

So sparkles feels so much more apt. How beautiful to view it as sparkles because those are the places that need the light, need love poured in, or perhaps sparkled in!

Later that same week, she mentioned that she had a “bump,” again referring to something unpleasant that had occurred, and again I loved the language of it.

It gave me a visual of a little child. And it’s so apt because that is, in fact, what is happening: we get bumps and bruises in life, the energetics of our inner child at the forefront, calling for our attention.

And so I am loving and adopting this terminology.

To life’s bumps & sparkles, may we see the bumps and bruises with a bit more tenderness, a bit more love, a bit more play.

And to embracing feeling the whole spectrum of this human existence and finding just a bit more humor in life’s bumps and sparkles. It’s all part of the game after all - to fall and get back up, like little kids, playing and exploring. 💜

I’ve noticed many people become well-versed in giving - giving to partners, work, children, giving outward and yet not as well-versed in receiving, in allowing nourishment.

Old stories and narratives of the martyr, the belief that love equals sacrifice, the belief that our worth comes from doing more and giving more, quietly shape our conditioning and patterns.

And yet, the paradox is - when we are nourished, is when we can show up with the greatest love to give.

I have also noticed personally that it can be easier to think of receiving in the form of large acts: receiving support or a helping hand, receiving money, support through a professional (acupuncture, massage, somatic worker, etc.), but I’m learning to explore a more personal and subtle way of receiving.

Receiving from your soul,
Your spirit team,
The Divine,
Even from the Earth.

In my self-energy sessions, I’m viewing them more from a lens of allowing nourishment versus a pushing for energetic maintenance, which it can feel like at times.

Taking time to be with our souls - through quiet time without stimulation, through meditation, through creativity, a walk, being fully present with a song on the radio, can be an opportunity to receive; even if it doesn’t arrive in obvious forms.

Our ability to receive is tied to our ability to ask.

To know that asking is not “too much.” That our needs are not a burden or bothersome. That we are worthy of receiving.

Our guides are willing and waiting to help - we need to ask and know that we will receive.
*And often not in the way our mind imagines.

Why can receiving be difficult?

Imagine a colleague compliments your outfit.

Perhaps you downplay it and say “Oh, this old thing,” brushing past it, or quickly say “thank you,” wanting to move on or divert the attention elsewhere, rather than pausing, taking a moment of gratitude and of presence to truly accept it.

What sits behind this seemingly small scenario? Whether you are receiving a compliment or a large sum of money, it can bring up discomforts, such as:

1) Past experiences flavor our ability to receive: There have been times we have experienced receiving that comes with strings, obligations, hidden motives, and our body remembers that.
2) Feelings of worthiness: How worthy or deserving do we feel to receive? So often we feel we must earn love, approval, attention, support, and yet we are inherently worthy. Not worthy when you are “good” or “enough,” but always…
3) Our identity becomes tied to being the giver: When we’ve spent years caring for others, receiving can feel unfamiliar. We may be so accustomed to helping, fixing, and holding everything together that allowing ourselves to simply receive feels vulnerable, or even uncomfortable.

It’s one thing to consciously understand these ideas, and another for our energy system to truly believe them.

Receiving can be like flexing and strengthening a new muscle.

A Practice in Receiving

One practice I’ve been exploring is intentionally asking to receive nourishment through each layer of my being. I’d like to share that practice with you -

First, settle into a comfortable position, taking a few moments to center and come back to your body.

Repeat the below aloud, as you move through each energetic body, pause and take three slow, intentional breaths, allowing yourself to receive.

I am one with the Divine,

Connected to the highest vibration of love, truth and compassion -
Calling in the support of my team of helpers and guides of the highest love, truth and compassion,
For my highest good and the highest good of all.

Requesting to receive nourishment for my….

Physical body,
(Pause. Three deep intentional breaths. Relax and allow.)

Emotional body,
(Pause. Three deep intentional breaths. Relax and allow.)

Mental body,
(Pause. Three deep intentional breaths. Relax and allow.)

Spiritual body,

When I arrived at one location, the First Coast Cultural Center, everyone was extremely welcoming and supportive. It felt like an open door, an exploration, a following of curiosity; it flowed.

Fast forward, to the opening of my first art exhibit this week. A place to play and bring together different elements. It’s a space where art, healing, music, patterns, and symbols come together.

This exhibit, Living in Color, is a space to pause, wander, and reconnect with yourself. At the heart of the exhibit is one simple question:

What brings you alive?

An ode to living life more colorfully, more boldly, more vibrantly, creating space for more of our authenticity to shine.

I’ll be honest, I have no idea what will unfold or happen, which of course is part exciting and part terrifying to the ego.

Will people come? Will they connect with it? Will it lead somewhere completely unexpected?

Part of me is deeply excited.

Another part would love a glimpse into the future.

There are times I’ve been knocked a bit with doubts and yet, I am working through the layers, following the tugs, the curiosity. And of course doing deep dives around my own limiting beliefs and patterns throughout the process - because the world will reflect them back, and of course bringing these new layers into healing sessions to help others do the same.

I’m excited to host group healings, open house days, a creative workshop and more. It feels like a space I can play.

It is interesting to witness the journey of years ago, coming from a place of being shy, timid, and unsure of displaying my work, to bringing it center stage into what I do. Perhaps that is the biggest leap.

Moving from ideation to execution is a beautifully messy process. I’ve broken a frame during the install, ordered the wrong materials, found things that do and don’t work, and met parts of myself that needed love and healing along the way - as always comes with trying something new.

This leap looks different than I imagined - new dreams of traveling exhibits, conversations that lead to new directions, inner child healing and creative workshops, a space to dive deeper into exploring the healing symbols.

What I am noticing, is the importance of the energy I bring into this, to turn from striving, to bringing more play and joy. It’s a continual practice in awareness to catch myself when I seem to grip or become too attached to the outcome.

Sometimes we get a flicker, and the hardest thing can be following through. We can muscle-test, we can ask, we can strive for certainty, but sometimes, we just need to try.

As poet & mystic Rumi once said: “As you start to walk on the way, the way appears.”

Perhaps you too are in the middle, not sure how things will turn out, meeting uncertainty, being asked to trust again and again. Leaning into the greatest teacher - life.

Beneath many of these experiences is the same invitation—not to become more guarded, but to become more deeply rooted in ourselves.

When we think of boundaries, we often think of encroachment and energy in our space. We don’t create boundaries by creating walls; well, we can, but that increases a sense of separation and can block the heart.

The aim isn’t to become walled off from life, but rather to feel safe enough to be immersed in it.

We create healthy boundaries by becoming strong and resilient within ourselves, by standing steady, like an oak tree. By filling ourselves up - our self worth, sense of self. When our energy bodies are clear, optimized, and nourished, we can better navigate the twists and turns of life - one of the reasons a daily practice is so important is that it helps us come back to center. Our energetic hygiene, just like our physical hygiene, is our responsibility.

Healthy boundaries allow us to love, create, and serve without losing ourselves.

How to Become More Rooted

If you’d like to begin strengthening your boundaries today, start by bringing awareness to where your energy is. Throughout the day, pause and ask yourself: Where is my energy right now? Is it replaying yesterday’s conversation? Worrying about tomorrow? Trying to solve someone else’s problems? Or can you feel yourself fully here, in this moment? Simply noticing where your energy has gone is often the first step in calling it back.

Sometimes what we call “weak boundaries” is actually a nervous system that learned it wasn’t safe to disappoint, speak up, or take up space. Meeting yourself with compassion is part of strengthening your boundaries. You might also ask yourself, “Is this mine to carry?” Not every emotion, responsibility, or outcome belongs to you. Before saying yes, fixing, rescuing, or taking something on, pause. Feel your body. Listen to your intuition. Boundaries are built one small choice at a time.

When we speak of self-love, we don’t mean going to the spa, though that can be a great form of self-care and a version of self-love.

When we speak of self-love, though, we are speaking about -

The ability to see and love the uncomfortable parts of ourselves. When we can hold ourselves throughout the journey - no matter what arises.

There are situations that bring out the best of us and others that can bring out our shadows or hidden parts. The parts that have been pushed down, that are longing to be acknowledged and loved.

What when you meet the bumps in the road, when things get messy? For example, what happens if you get into an argument with a loved one, family member, partner, or colleague?

Frustration can arise, anger can arise… bumping against past wounds, inherited patterns, energetics of the inner child (the list goes on). In those situations though, once the argument has passed, how quick are we to judge ourselves? To scold ourselves? Perhaps guilt, shame, worry, or other emotions arise and exacerbate the situation.

Self-love in this instance is forgiving the situation and, most importantly, forgiving ourselves.

When an “unfavorable” emotion comes up, instead of asking:

“What’s wrong with me? Why am I like this?,” we can ask,
“What is this trying to show me? What is this pointing me toward?”

When anger arises, it can be because we are trying to hold a boundary. Often, we are quicker to react this way, not because we are “bad or wrong,” but often because we are depleted.

If you are on a healing journey, one of the most important things can be rest, breaks and nourishing the nervous system. When the nervous system or organs are depleted, it can be reflected in our emotions.

After all, emotions aren’t the problem; they are the messenger.

This time of year, nearing the 4th of July, I always sense a shift in the collective energy, especially being in the United States.

It's as though something in us longs to be a little more free. A little more playful. Summer invites us to loosen our grip, to lean into our inner rebel, our sense of freedom, to enjoy the sun, to remember what it feels like to simply enjoy being alive.

What did tapping into the energy of this song look like for me?

Jumping into the pool with all my clothes on 11am on a Thursday.

It was a moment I didn’t plan for, a moment of freedom, of play. No prompt, no encouragement, no witnesses, just me.

It surpised even myself.

As I floated, quite assumed by the whole thing, I couldn’t help but wonder if it had something to do with the energy healing practice around freedom I’d done the night before.

After a beach walk and giving our family dog a bath, I walked past the pool and, instead of talking myself out of it like I had on other days, I just jumped.

Like a little kid trying to escape the summer heat.

Sometimes healing isn’t dramatic.

Sometimes it looks like doing the thing that once felt too silly, too spontaneous, or too free.

May this song remind you of the part of you that knows freedom.

And may your inner rebel, your inner badass, know it is safe to come out and play.

Freedom - the power or right to act, speak, and think without undue restraint or coercion. (And yes this includes ancestral & societal conditioning, past life influences, the stories we’ve picked up, what we tell even ourselves, how we unknowingly restrict or limit ourselves).

For awhile, I’ve been wanting to explore weaving together the songs that come through with energy healing in a way that invites us to move beyond figuring things out and into listening, receiving, and remembering.

Perhaps this is the beginning of a new series. For now, I’m simply following what feels alive.

If you’re familiar with my work, you’ll know that much of it centers around serving as a vessel and channel. Sometimes that energy comes through as a healing session. Sometimes as symbols, writing, art, or music.

This week, Soul-Honoring feels like it wants to become an experience.

Think sound bath meets Divine energy healing.

A space to soften the analytical mind, receive, and allow healing to move where it is most needed and welcomed for your highest good and highest outcome.

We often ask our soul for answers.

• What’s next?

• What should I do?

• Am I doing enough?

• Which direction should I go?

But what if, instead of asking our soul to speak louder, we became quiet enough to listen?

And even then, often, it’s not that we aren’t trying to listen, but rather that old patterns, obligations, fears, identities, attachments, and subconscious conditioning create static that makes it difficult to honor what wants to be expressed or come through us, to trust ourselves.

Patterns such as obligation, self-abandonment, unworthiness, guilt, enmeshment, fear, attachment to outcomes, old identities and roles, or even energies that leave us drained and fatigued, and other conscious or unconscious patterns that no longer serve us. These are so ingrained in our energy fields, we may not even know they are there because we may have lived with them all our life /lives.

This Friday, I’d love to invite you into an exploration.

You don’t need to know what is ready to shift.

You don’t need to figure anything out.
Simply come and receive.

Self-honoring.

Sometimes this term can be misconstrued as selfishness or just doing what you want regardless of anything or anyone else, but when we say self-honoring, what we really referring to is The Self (Self-Honoring). Capital S.

The Divinity within you.

Your soul’s blueprint and essence.

Not the ego that can be pulled by fear, obligation, conditioning, or lower vibrational patterns.

In reflecting on this concept, I found myself questioning my own boundaries.

“Am I truly leaning in enough and honoring what wants to come through?”

Asking the hard questions, “Where am I leaking energy? Where am I acting from obligation versus love? Where am I trying too hard to control? And where am I not honoring my own needs in order to keep the peace?” (in true Libra fashion)

It can be tricky to find the balance, especially being energetically sensitive. Learning to be okay if my needs differ from the group. Learning not to get lost in group dynamics, other people’s rhythms, or collective momentum - It’s a vast topic I’m continuing to explore the energetics of more deeply and enjoy supporting clients with as it’s a very layered healing journey.

As I reflected on self-honoring one morning, a new distinction emerged -

Not Self-honoring.

But rather Soul-Honoring.

Your soul came here to experience different situations, your soul was filled with dreams, desires, curiosities and callings. Your dreams and desires are different from mine, from the person next to you, from your family members, etc. and how beautiful that is.

Recently, while helping my parents move to Florida, I was speaking with a woman who was leading the moving team. I asked her questions about her work and at one point she smiled and commented, “I love what I do.”

Not a polite smile. Not a rehearsed answer. A beaming smile. The kind that lights up your entire face.

She truly loved helping people pack and move.

And I found myself feeling so happy to hear that.

Every time I meet someone who genuinely loves what they do, I feel hopeful.

There are people who love accounting. Thank goodness!
There are people who love organizing.
There are people who love building businesses.
There are people who love caring for animals.
There are people who love teaching children.
There are people who love growing flowers.

And there are people who love helping families through transition, to help pack and move.

The world works because different hearts are called to different things.

One of our greatest challenges isn’t that we all have different dreams. It’s that so many people abandon them. And indeed, it can be quite the journey to release conditioning that inhibits our dharma (soul’s calling).

We are often taught to trust practicality before passion, obligation before intuition, and external expectations before the quiet voice within.

The friction we feel isn’t always because our dreams are wrong. Sometimes it’s because we’re moving away from something our soul has quietly been asking for.

Yes, we must let go of the outcome.
Yes, we must release control and surrender to a greater plan.
And yes, our dreams may unfold differently than we imagined.

But our desires still matter. The pull still matters. The curiosity still matters. The dream itself is often pointing us somewhere, which we will experience in perfect timing.

How Can We Soul-Honor?

Soul-Honoring can look like taking small steps toward where our heart is pulling us.

These are the micromoments, the slowing down before making a decision (versus running on autopilot), checking in with ourselves and actually asking - is this in alignment? Does this feel nourishing? Is this respecting myself? Feeling into our body, does it feel expansive or contracted, light or heavy?

Sometimes it can be easier to recognize where we are not Soul-Honoring.

• Saying yes out of obligation rather than love.

• Saying yes when our body is clearly saying no.

• Ignoring the signs of our body’s exhaustion, which can lead to disease, burnout, or depletion.

• Saying no out of fear when our soul quietly wants to say yes.

• Following outside guidance when it doesn’t feel right for us.

• Not communicating or creating space for our own needs. - This is not about judgment; it is simply about noticing. Believe me, I know. It takes a lot to 1) even know our unique needs 2) be able to communicate them. A process of bringing the unconscious to the conscious.

Soul-Honoring is a practice.

And like any practice, it deepens with time, patience, and attention.

Perhaps Soul-Honoring begins by spending time with our souls. Through meditation. Prayer. Journaling. Walking in nature. Creating. Clearing the noise. Coming back into balance. Listening. Or even just witnessing and observing that it is all creation. Being kind to ourselves for where we are in the journey.

In a world full of distractions, opinions, and momentum, perhaps the greatest act of Soul-Honoring is simply creating enough quiet to hear the gentle tugs within.

One such beautiful healer in Madrid once said to me with a wink, “Remember to enjoy the picnic.” It was almost comical because it came after a deep release, and at that specific moment in life, I was definitely not enjoying the picnic.

Her words stuck with me and years later have inspired this new release.

The lyrics to this song came through while listening to a Portuguese song after a painting session. This piece contains a little piece of Madrid, a little piece of Portugal, and a desire for something soft for the morning — something to enjoy with a cup of coffee, tea, or cacao, no matter where you are. Something gentle. Something warm.

These two pieces came through in a recent painting session—
with Lorenzo nearby, gently nudging the door open as I began to pray and connect, and, as usual, falling asleep halfway through.

I felt these pieces before I understood them.

As I spent time with each one, their energy and purpose started to reveal themselves.

They feel connected, almost like a journey, each holding something distinct.

The first piece (green) supports emotional release.

This piece moves through the emotional and energetic bodies, helping to loosen held feelings, especially during times of transition or uncertainty.

It’s like the system remembering how to let go.
Not mental memory, but an allowance.

There’s a soft unraveling here, especially around control.
Nothing forced, nothing dramatic—just a quiet loosening.
An opening of space where something has been held.

There’s an ancestral quality to this piece,
as if something is being released that was never yours to carry.

The second piece (pink) supports heart opening through a sense of safety.

Soften · Safety · Trust

This piece works primarily on the spiritual body, bringing a gentle sense of calm and coherence to the system.

Where the first piece moves, this one settles.

There’s a quiet softening here—
not something that pushes anything open,
but something that allows the body to relax its guard.

A reminder that it’s safe to soften,
safe to trust,
safe to remain open.

This piece feels is harmonizing.

It’s especially supportive during emotional overwhelm,
or in the space after healing,
when everything is still integrating.

There’s a deeper, soul-level quality to it—
restoring balance,
and gently returning the system to trust.

Meditation, energy work, prayer - all strengthen our connection to our intuition, to our truth, to the support all around us.

To me, it’s like watering the roots and making space before anything breaks the surface.

I used to imagine having a question, meditating and having solutions instantly arrive. Ask, receive, take action. And sometimes, it does happen that way.

But more often, I’ve found it’s not so neat. For me, what works is committing to practices to clear the channel, asking and then letting it go, continuing about my day.

Answers may come as a sign while I’m moving through my day or even days or weeks after.
A quiet knowing that drops in.
A conversation that reflects something back to me.

Or it comes through the body—
a softening, a contraction, a pull toward something, or away from it.

Not a voice telling me what to do,
but a feeling asking me to listen.

And sometimes, no clear answer come at all—
but there is a calmness where there wasn’t before.

Over time, I’ve found it’s less about getting answers, and more about letting go of needing them, of opening to a greater sense of safety, a strength and trust in the uncertainty.

One of my favorite things about VortexHealing® Divine Energy Healing, one of the main modalities I use in my practice, was that it was the first modality I received where, after the session, I could distinguish my inner voice from the noise of the world and of the stories of the mind, where space was created for wisdom and new perspectives to come through.

I’ve come to love the days before and after healings, and hearing clients’ experiences during this time, when subtle shifts in awareness occur.

Life has a beautiful way of bringing us the exact situations to observe—
to notice how our reactions begin to shift.
Where we soften.
Where we pause.
Where something that once triggered us… no longer does.

A calmness where there used to be reactivity.
A new lens we didn’t have access to before.

It’s rarely just about what happens in the session itself.

It’s about how you meet life differently afterward.

The aftereffect.
A softening.
A deeper trust.

A practice in patience.

A reminder that not everything arrives on demand.

We are not just seeking answers—
We are becoming someone who can hear them.
And more importantly, we are loosening our grasp on needing them.

Deepenings within the spiral.

Some days you may be able to spend longer bringing yourself back to center,
Some days, you need smaller practices that might not always seem like enough.

We are all doing the best we can.
The important part is that we have patience with ourselves in the process.

Saturday Psychology - What do you do on a Saturday?

Especially as a creative and entrepreneur, I’ve found this to be a wonderful experiment, to witness and notice.

This past week, I noticed a sense of relaxation energy when it came to Saturday (even if I am creating my own schedule as an entrepreneur). I noticed an old pattern, a slight contraction during the week that loosened on Saturday.

It’s much less than it used to be—especially back when I was working in corporate. Back then, I was often too burned out to fully enjoy it, mostly using the time to decompress and recharge. But I can still sense the energetic imprint of it now.

Particularly being here in the States, I notice I can slip more into my mental body than when I’m elsewhere.

I had a few hours to myself on Saturday morning, and interestingly, I felt drawn to work on a chakra program (coming soon). But it wasn’t coming from “I need to get this done” or because it was a “workday.”

It was because I genuinely excited to do the process on myself—to record the healing transmission and create a song for it. I was excited to take the medicine myself.

I found myself playing with music, creating—something I do during the week as well—but it stood out to me that I was returning to it from purely joy.

No pressure. No obligation. Just desire.

It’s something I think we can all explore.

There are clues in our childhood—what we were naturally drawn to before we learned what was “practical” and set those parts of ourselves aside.

So too can we take clues from our Saturdays.

It’s a question I love to ask. A question, I even more, love to hear the response to.

So often, the response is almost that of shock and awe, like it was never part of the plan. Sometimes you can even see the twinkle in someone’s eye as they recall the story.

That they were heading one way and life took them a different direction. A different profession, a different city, state or even country. Through chance encounters, through meeting the right person at the right time, through new doors.

Just in hearing their response helps my nervous system to soften - a remembrance.

That we aren’t as in control as we believe, that we aren’t the ones in charge. Life has a funny way of making that ever apparent with every twist and turn. Our mind tries to pretend it’s in control, that it’s calling the shots, but in reality, a much greater force is getting us exactly where we are meant to be.

Sometimes by taking a step back, we can remember how truly cared for we are. That each chapter is that, a chapter, a tapestry, a piece of the book of our lives unfolding.

We can show up, we can create space for life to flow more freely and we can trust the process.

To loosening our grasp,
And trusting just a little bit more.
