Rugby Borough remain the only team in the division to maintain their 100% winning record. It was a first half own goal that decided the game in a narrow 1-0 win over Norwich City.

Stoke City were the only other team to have won both of their opening fixtures but suffered their first defeat this weekend. Evie Williams’ 80th minute finish ensured that Loughborough Lightning came away with all three points.

Huddersfield Town secured back-to-back victories with a 4-2 showing over Boldmere St. Michaels. Rhema Lord-Mears, Aimee Kelly and Laura Elford fired the Terriers into a comfortable lead before Skye Owen narrowed the deficit. Louise Biggins restored the advantage before Mia L-Spencer pulled another back for the visitors in the closing stages but it was too little too late.

Liverpool Feds got back to winning ways with a confident 4-1 win over Hull City. A tight first half saw them go in all square at the break but four goals in 16 minutes saw Feds take control. Chantelle Thompson, Jess Brady, Georgia Walters and Henna Butcher all got on the scoresheet with Sian Gibrill-Keating getting a consolation for the hosts late on.

West Brom earned their first win of the season with a 3-1 win over Peterborough United. Phoebe Hollin fired them into the lead with Ellie May levelling for Posh just before the break. But the hosts took control in the second half with Riya Mannu and Rhianne Rush scoring within five minutes of each other to take home all three points.

And Derby County earned a narrow victory over Middlesbrough thanks to Dolcie O’Connor’s 44th minute goal.

Three teams in the Southern Premier have maintained a perfect record to date.

Oxford United hit five past Cheltenham Town to no reply. Holly Manders continued her fine form with another brace while the other finishes came from Ebony Wiseman, Jenna Legg and an own goal.

Fulham registered the same scoreline against Plymouth Argyle with all five goals coming in the first half. Rianna Dean opened her account for the club, Charlies Estcourt notched a brace and Anna Grey and Sophie Gillies both got on the scoresheet.

And AFC Bournemouth saw off Hashtag United in style. Two from Jenna Markham and finishes from Tamara Wilcock and Charlotte Harris ensured they kept all three points. Ruby Doe pulled one back for the visitors.

Exeter City secured their first win of the campaign with a healthy 3-1 victory over Lewes. Ellie Sara scored a hat-trick to put them firmly in control. Olivia Johnson scored the consolation for the Rookettes.

Real Bedford got back to winning ways with a 2-1 defeat of Swindon Town. Lily Whitelock fired Bedford into the lead before Annie Colston levelled before the break. A 73rd minute winner from Zynia Delglyn ensured the hosts came away with all three points.

The match between Portsmouth and AFC Wimbledon was postponed due to a festival in the city.

Intuition would say that Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal remain the contenders for the title although slight unknowns remain with each of them.

All three have strengthened in different ways. Persuading Bunny Shaw to stay was undoubtedly the most important bit of business that Manchester City have done this summer with the Jamaican forward in a league of her own - she scored 21 goals in 22 matches last time out. They have, however, been relatively quiet in the transfer window with Andrée Jeglertz seemingly confident in his already established squad. They have brought in just three new faces to date with the arrival of Beth Mead from Arsenal, Niamh Charles from Chelsea and Carlotta Wamser from Bayer Leverkusen.

It is the penultimate week of the summer window with a smattering of deals still getting done here and there across the Barclays WSL and WSL 2.

TRANSFER TRACKER

Charlton made their sixth signing, sealing the permanent move of midfielder Keira Flannery from West Ham. The 20-year-old spent last season on loan at the Addicks, helping the club to seal promotion to the top flight.

Crystal Palace have brought in young Japan star Fūka Tsunoda on loan from Brighton for the season. The 21-year-old impressed for the Seagulls towards the end of the last campaign and will be looking to increase her minutes this time out.

Young Lioness Lola Brown has signed a new three-year deal with Chelsea. The Blues’ Academy product has represented the club from U12 level and is looking to establish herself in the senior setup.

20-year-old goalkeeper Eve Annets has joined Hibernian on a season-long loan from Manchester City. Japan midfielder Aemu Oyama, meanwhile, has departed the club to join HB Køge on a permanent basis.

In other departures from the WSL, Vivienne Lia has left Arsenal for Eintracht Frankfurt while Anna Csiki has signed for Benfica from Tottenham Hotspur.

Over in WSL 2, Nottingham Forest have got back in on the action with two new additions. Norwegian forward Tuva Espås has joined the club on a two-year deal from Vålerenga. 20-year-old Finland midfielder Ilona Walta then followed from Molde FC on a contract of the same length.

Wolves have added Republic of Ireland full-back Tara O’Hanlon to their squad. The 21-year-old has signed a permanent deal after her departure from Manchester City.

Sunderland have completed the permanent signing of French defender Tess Laplacette. The 27-year-old arrives in the north east from Olympique de Marseille.

Durham have signed Emma Brown to their ranks. The defender spent her senior and graduate years at Middle Tennessee State University and spent time with the club on trial this summer.

Sheffield United have tapped into the loan system to bolster their squad. Turkey international Halle Houssein and Arsenal full-back Sophie Harwood have both joined the Blades on a season-long loan.

There have also been loans for two England youth internationals. Araya Dennis has joined Leicester City from Spurs while Vera Jones will play for Watford, shortly after having signed a new contract with Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Newcastle United’s Jasmine McQuade will spend the season at Hibernian.

Stoke City and Rugby Borough made it two wins from two to take an early advantage at the top.

After a tight first half, Stoke put five past Boldmere St. Michaels. Evie Priestley opened the scoring before Roisin Kivel doubled the lead. An own goal made it three before Boldmere managed to pull one back through Natasha Bailey. The hosts proved too strong, however, adding two more through Delphi Cole and Racheal Quigley in the closing stages.

Ebony Wiseman’s 69th minute finish, meanwhile, handed Rugby the narrow away win over Derby County.

There were also victories for two of the league’s newcomers.

Norwich City claimed their first three points thanks to a 2-0 win over Hull City. Perry Northeast’s side took the lead through Grace Riglar just before the break before Niyah Dunbar made sure of the result deep into injury time.

Peterborough United held off a late comeback from Liverpool Feds to ensure that they secured their first win in Tier 3. An Ellie May brace and Evie Driscoll-King finish fired Posh into the lead. The visitors pulled two back late on through Maddie Bouggess and Jess Brady but were unable to salvage a point.

Huddersfield Town also secured their first win of the campaign with a 5-1 victory over Loughborough Lightning. Aimee Kelly fired the hosts into the lead before Lightning captain Olivia Ramon equalised just after the break. Rhema Lord-Mears restored the deficit before a Laura Elford brace and second from Kelly made things comfortable.

Finally, Middlesbrough got off the mark with a a narrow victory over West Brom. Olivia Watt scored the only goal of the game when she nodded home Niamh Boothroyd’s delivery.

Oxford United, Fulham FC and AFC Bournemouth all continued their 100% winning starts.

Fulham have hit the ground running in Tier 3 and backed up their opening day victory with a comfortable three points over Real Bedford. Sophie Gillies hit two early on before Melis Mehmet pulled a goal back. Ellie Olds made sure of the results with a late brace.

Oxford put in another dominant performance to beat Lewes 3-0. Nicola Gibson opened the scoring before Holly Manders hit two in three minutes, including a finish straight from a corner.

AFC Bournemouth left it late once again to make it two wins from two. Issy Watts opened the scoring over Cheltenham Town before the visitors levelled proceedings thanks to Emily Owen. An 87th minute strike from Tia Young, however, ensured the result stayed with Helen Bleazard’s side.

After a disappointing start to life back in Tier 3, Portsmouth secured their first victory with a comfortable 4-0 win over Swindon Town. Sofia Mallon scored a brace while the other finishes came from Angelina Nixon and Zoe Barratt.

AFC Wimbledon kickstarted their campaign with a dominant afternoon against Plymouth Argyle. They won 6-0 thanks to braces from Ellie Dorey and Freda Ayisi, and goals from Emily Taylor-Brown and Rosie Russell.

Finally, it finished all-square between Hashtag United and Exeter City. The hosts took the lead through Alicia Mulvaney but Exeter struck back just four minutes later through a fine Nia Lewis free kick.

On Friday afternoon, England U20s Head Coach Lydia Bedford named her 21-player squad to compete in the tournament after a summer of preparation camps in both the USA and Spain.

Included are seven players who were involved helping the Young Lionesses to a fourth place finish at the 2024 U17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic.

The Young Lionesses qualified via last summer’s U19 European Championships. It is the first time England will be represented at the tournament since Mo Marley’s side secured the Bronze medal in France in 2018.

In Poland, they will compete in Group B against Canada (5 September), Tanzania (8 September) and Brazil (11 September). All three games will take place in Biełsko-Biela. The top two sides will progress to the knockout stages with the final taking place in Łódź on 27 September. They are joined by five other European teams - France, Italy, Portugal, Spain and hosts Poland - while holders Korea DPR and three-times winners, the USA, will also take part. Alongside, Poland and Portugal, New Caledonia, Ecuador, Tanzania and Benin will make their debut in the tournament.

Everton have been the most active this week with two new signings. England U23 international Hannah Silcock made the Merseyside swap from her childhood club Liverpool to Everton for an undisclosed fee. Canadian goalkeeper Rylee Foster-Inman has returned to the Toffees for a second spell. The 27-year-old has joined from Northern Super League side Halifax Tides.

Chelsea have placed emphasis on youth development this summer and they continue on that theme. England youngsters Vera Jones and Katie Cox have both signed new three-year deals with the club.

Faith in youngsters is also a theme at Manchester City. 19-year-old midfielder Amelia Oldroyd has put pen to paper on her first professional contract with the club. Meanwhile, Japan international Aemu Oyama has moved to HB Køge on a permanent deal.

Viviane Asseyi has signed a new two-year deal with West Ham. The French international extends her stay in East London, having spent the last four years at the club and making 108 appearances. 19-year-old Celin Semal has joined Aberdeen on a season-long loan.

England youngster Olivia Johnson has joined FAWNL side Lewes on a season-long loan from Brighton.

And finally, Sofie Lundgaard has left Liverpool for Eintracht Frankfurt.

There has also been a little bit of business in Barclays WSL 2.

Leicester City have been busy as they continue to add numbers to their squad. 20-year-old England forward Poppy Pritchard has signed a three-year deal after her departure from Manchester City. Finland forward Paulina Nyström has also joined on a two-year contract from BK Häcken.

Durham have added 22-year-old forward Bayley Hutchison from Hearts. Grace Collinson has signed her first professional contract with the club.

Sunderland have added yet more international experience to the squad with the arrival of Kassandra Missipo. The Belgian midfielder has arrived from Sassuolo on a two-year deal.

Nottingham Forest continue to utilise the loan system. England U20 internationals Grace McEwen and Katie Cox have come in from Brighton and Chelsea respectively.

Welsh goalkeeper Safia Middleton-Patel has joined Watford on loan from Manchester United.

And finally, shot-stopper Eva Spencer has joined FAWNL side Hull City on loan from Burnley.

Rugby Borough kicked off their campaign is style, topping the table with a dominant 5-0 win over newcomers Peterborough United. Mai Moncaster and Malika Apinda both recorded braces for Lee Burch’s side before defender Eve Clarkson rounded things off.

Liverpool Feds also hit five in their opener over Derby County. New signing Georgia Walters opened with a rocket before Derby’s Dolcie O’Connor levelled just before the break. The hosts ran riot in the second half with finishes from Emma Johnson, Jess Brady, Seren Carrington and Maddie Bouggess.

Stoke City got off to a winning start with a 2-0 home win over West Brom. Roisin Kivel opened her account with a back-post finish before Delphi Cole converted from the spot.

Boldmere St. Michaels kicked off their time in the Northern Premier with a narrow 1-0 victory over Middlesbrough. Evie Hughes scored the only goal of the game after 15 minutes.

Fellow newcomers Norwich City earned a valuable point against Huddersfield Town. Izzy Moore’s second half finish cancelled out Rebecca Beresford’s opener.

Finally, Hull City came out on top of a five goal thriller against Loughborough Lightning. Denver Thompson put the hosts ahead but goals either side of the break from Sian Gibrill-Keating and Ellie Tanser turned the tables in Hull’s fabour. Ella Jarowick thought she had salvaged a draw for Lightning but Helen Lynskey’s 75th minute finish ensured the visitors went home with all three points.

It was Oxford United who impressed early doors with an impressive 4-0 win away to Exeter City. Both Holly Manders and Emma Thompson scored first half braces to send their team home with all three points.

Swindon Town also hit the ground running with a comeback 4-2 win over Plymouth Argyle who have endured a tumultuous summer. Shana Dolbel gave the visitors an early lead before Taylor MacDonald levelled with a free kick. Ellie Bishop restored the deficit but three second half goals from the hosts saw them complete the comeback. Annie Colston, Tori St. Clair and Izzy Cook all got on the scoresheet for Richard Wood’s side.

Newly promoted Fulham earned their first victory in dramatic fashion. They beat Portsmouth 1-0 thanks to a 94th minute winner from Ellie Olds.

AFC Bournemouth shook off the disappointment of last season with a narrow win over AFC Wimbledon. Jenna Markham scored the only goal of the game.

Real Bedford also kickstarted their season with a 3-1 away victory over Cheltenham Town. Lucy Wood and Melis Mehmet fired the visitors ahead before Leo Joyce pulled one back just before the break. Blue Bartlett-Antwi made sure of the three points late on, capping off her debut in style.

Finally, England youngster Olivia Johnson gave Lewes a first half lead, having joined on loan from Brighton. The hosts were forced to share the points, however, when Hashtag United levelled from the spot in the 52nd minute.

Brighton made the headlines this week with the arrival of defender Gabby George from Manchester United. The 29-year-old made the switch to the south coast for an undisclosed fee. Carla Camacho, meanwhile, has gone out on a season-long loan to Lazio.

Liverpool completed the signing of midfielder Natalia Ramos from CD Tenerife. The 27-year-old clocked up over 200 appearances for the Spanish outfit and will wear the number 6 shirt. 18-year-old Neve McDonald has signed her first professional contract with the club.

France youngster Chancelle Effa Effa became Birmingham City’s seventh new face of the summer as she signed from Le Havre. The 19-year-old forward is highly rated, having represented her country on the international stage at every youth level.

Aston Villa have added Lily Murphy to the ranks for the season. The 20-year-old attacker has come in on loan from Manchester City.

Finally, there have been a number of headline departures. Kerolin left Manchester City for Barcelona; Jenna Nighswonger departed Arsenal for Bay FC; and goalkeeper Inês Pereira joined Deportiva la Coruna from Everton.

There has also been a little bit of business in Barclays WSL 2.

Rachel Williams has joined Burnley from Leicester City. The highly-experienced striker joined the Clarets on a one-year deal with an option to extend.

Leicester City, meanwhile, have acquired midfielder Libby Bance from Brighton on a free transfer. The 23-year-old arrives at the King Power having spent seven years at the Seagulls. England youngster, Denny Draper, has signed a new contract with her childhood club. Julie Thibaud, meanwhile, has departed for Olympique de Marseille.

26-year-old Jamaica forward Shania Hayles has joined Nottingham Forest after leaving Newcastle United.

Durham have added Madison McComasky to their ranks. The 26-year-old defensive player arrives in the north east from USL Super League side Fort Lauderdale.

And finally, England youngster Jessie Gale has joined Newcastle United on a season-long loan from Arsenal.

The big news at Manchester United this week has been the replacement of Marc Skinner as Head Coach by Eva Olid. The 40-year-old has joined United on a contract until June 2028 after winning the SWPL title with Hearts.

Chelsea made their fifth signing of the summer ahead of their trip to New Zealand and Australia. Italian midfielder Giulia Dragoni signed from Barcelona on a four-year contract. The highly talented 19-year-old spent three years with the Spanish champions and has been capped at senior level for Italy, becoming the second youngest player at the 2023 World Cup. Meanwhile, Academy product Eva Hendle signed her first professional contract with the club. The winger will head out to Rangers on loan for the season.

Charlton Athletic have continued to make additions to their ranks. Ashleigh Neville and Emily van Egmond have both arrived from Leicester City, adding plenty of experience to the Addicks.

Crystal Palace have also made three more signings. Forward Shannon O’Brien has signed a three-year deal after leaving Leicester City while defender Molly Bartrip has joined from Tottenham Hotspur. France goalkeeper Pauline Peyraud-Magnin has joined on a season-long loan from NWSL outfit Denver Summit.

Daniela Arques has become London City Lionesses’ eighth permanent addition. The 20-year-old Spanish midfielder arrives in Bromley after a year at Sporting CP.

Kinga Szemik has departed West Ham for Hamburger SV. Katie O’Hanlon, meanwhile, has headed out to Aberdeen on loan.

Young Birmingham City defender Ebonie Locke will spend the season on loan at Hearts in the SWPL.

Finally, Manchester City Academy product Sacha Lewis has signed her first professional deal with the club.

There have also been a number of moves in Barclays WSL 2.

After seeing many departures, Southampton have made their first few signings of the summer. New Zealand goalkeeper Alina Santos has arrived from the University of Denver while defender Niamh Murphy is reunited with Simon Parker after leaving Blackburn Rovers. Sunderland duo Libbi McInnes and Grace Moloney have also signed for the Saints along with midfielder Laura Hughes who comes in from Melbourne City.

Newly promoted Watford have continued to bolster their ranks. Welsh international Tianna Teisar has joined from Bristol City. 18-year-old wing-back Eva Gray has returned on a permanent deal from Arsenal having spent last season with the Hornets. 22-year-old Republic of Ireland midfielder Aoibheann Clancy, meanwhile, has come in from Shelbourne.

Leicester City have made two more additions ahead of the new campaign. Republic of Ireland internationals Jessie Stapleton and Jess Ziu have both arrived on permanent deals from West Ham.

Wolves have also continued to add numbers. 23-year-old winger Ellen Jones has signed from Sunderland while young Welsh winger Olivia Francis has arrived from Plymouth Argyle.

Olivia Fergusson has returned to England. The 31-year-old winger has joined Durham after spending the last season at Espanyol.

Newcastle United have also continued to add. Scotland international Martha Thomas became their tenth signing after joining from Tottenham Hotspur. Demi Stokes has also signed a new deal with the club.

Over at Sunderland, Republic of Ireland international Izzy Atkinson has signed a new contract while youngster Lily Dent has arrived on a season-long loan from Brighton. Academy products Niyah Dunbar and Niamh Boothroyd will go out on loan to Norwich City and Middlesbrough respectively.

Fran Bentley, Sophie Ingle, Emily Syme and Ella Powell have all signed new contracts with Bristol City.

And finally, Mollie Rouse has also signed a new deal to extend her stay with Sheffield United.

London City Lionesses will host the season opener at the Copperjax Community Stadium. Eder Maestre’s side have been catching all the headlines over the summer with the likes of Alexia Putellas and Kadidatou Diani arriving in Bromley. They will host the slightly quieter Manchester United (so far) on the evening of Friday 4th September.

Chelsea will then host Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge on the Saturday before the remaining fixtures get underway on Sunday 6th September.

The final day of the season is yet to be confirmed but will be held from 21st-23rd May 2027. Surely to be amongst the headlines will be Everton v Chelsea at Goodison Park, Liverpool v Manchester City at St. Helens Stadium and Arsenal v Charlton at The Emirates.

BARCLAYS WSL 2

Newly promoted Watford and Burnley will kick off proceedings at Vicarage Road in WSL 2 on Friday 4th September.

The remaining fixtures will follow on Sunday 6th September with Durham hosting Southampton at 12:00 BST and the rest all kicking off at 14:00 BST.

The final day of the season is scheduled for 7th-9th May 2027 with kick off times to be confirmed. Amongst the highlights, Newcastle United will host Bristol City at St. James’ Park while Sunderland take on Watford at the Stadium of Light.

In the FA Women’s National League Northern Premier, newly-promoted Norwich City and Huddersfield Town face each other on opening day. Fellow newcomers Boldmere St. Michaels and Peterborough United will take on Middlesbrough and Rugby Borough respectively.

In the Southern Premier, newly-promoted Fulham FC will take on recently relegated Portsmouth. Fellow newcomers Swindon Town will face Plymouth Argyle who lost out on promotion in the play-off last season.

FAWNL DIVISION 1

There has been a lot of change in the Division 1 North over the summer. Cheadle Town Stingers’ disbandment meant that Blackburn Rovers avoided relegation. Halifax, relegated from the Premier Division, will travel to newcomers AFC Fylde on opening day. Fellow newly-promoted sides Bradford City and Thornaby will take on Chorley and Leeds United respectively.

In the Division 1 Midlands, newcomers Chesterfield, Lye Town, Sporting Khalsa and Wythenshawe will take on Barnsley, Sutton Coldfield Town, Notts County and Northampton Town respectively on opening day.

In the Division 1 South East, newcomers Dartford will open against Dulwich Hamlet. Stevenage will start life in the division against London Bees while recently relegated Billericay Town will host Cambridge United.

And finally, in the Division 1 South West, Gwalia United will kick off life in Tier 4 against Ascot United. Newcomers Torquay United and Wycombe Wanderers will face each other in their opening fixture.

It has been a slightly quieter week on the transfer front but no less significant as teams continue their recruitment with pre-season getting underway.

Everton have once again been one of the busier sides as they look to consolidate their squad. Finland forward Jutta Rantala has arrived on Merseyside after three years at Leicester City. With Barcelona activating the buy-back clause in Martina Fernandez’s contract, England defender Naomi Layzell has been brought in on a season-long loan from Manchester City. Karen Holmgaard, meanwhile, has signed a new one year contract with the club.

England starlet Nelly Las has become Chelsea’s fourth signing of the summer window. The talented 18-year-old full-back arrives from her childhood club Leicester City on a four-year deal. There was also a heavily anticipated update for fans as goalkeeper Hannah Hampton put pen-to-paper on a new two-year contract. Academy product Lois Shooter, meanwhile, has signed her first professional contract with the club. The 18-year-old forward will spend the season on loan at Nottingham Forest.

There have been three more additions at Charlton as Karen Hills looks to prepare her squad for their first season in the top flight. Finland goalkeeper Anna Koivunen has signed a two-year deal with the Addicks after leaving Djurgårdens IF. Midfielder Leah Davidson has come in on a deal of the same length having departed Melbourne City after six years while French forward Lorena Azzaro has arrived on a season-long loan from Paris FC. And Charlotte Newsham has signed a new deal with the club.

Brighton have signed Republic of Ireland international Emily Murphy. The 23-year-old forward arrives from Newcastle United where she made 37 appearances and scored nine times. Captain Maisie Symonds has signed a new long-term deal with the club.

The goalkeeping unit has been the focus for Birmingham City this week. Sophie Baggaley has made a return to the club, having left Brighton earlier this summer. The England goalkeeper joined the Birmingham Academy at 16, making 27 appearances before leaving for Bristol City. Shot-stopper Katie Startup also arrives having left Manchester City.

In more goalkeeping moves, Manchester United have signed Janina Leitzig from Leicester City.

In addition, Spain shot-stopper Misa Rodríguez has joined Arsenal from Real Madrid. Meanwhile, Academy product Laila Harbert has left for San Diego Wave.

Lucy Parry has signed a new contract with Liverpool, the club she has been at since the age of seven.

Swiss international Noelle Maritz has opted to extend her stay at Aston Villa.

And finally, midfielder Oona Siren has penned a two-year contract extension with West Ham. England U23 international Sarah Brasero, meanwhile, will spend the season on loan without Deportivo Alavés.

There has also been plenty going on in Barclays WSL 2.

There has been an Irish flavour at Burnley this week. Midfielder Tyler Toland has arrived from Durham, Jamie Finn has signed from Sunderland and defender Jessica Hennessy has joined from AFC Bournemouth. American coach Jackie Bachteler has been named as the side’s new permanent manager.

Fellow promoted side Watford have also been adding to their squad with five new faces. Republic of Ireland striker Saoirse Noonan has joined the Hornet’s ranks. She brings firepower after an impressive two seasons at Celtic where she scored 57 goals in 74 appearances. Midfielder Hannah Greenwood has also arrived after leaving Sunderland earlier this summer as have goalkeeper Demi Lambourne from Sunderland, experience winger Karin Muya from Charlton and young Welsh talent Phoebie Poole from Plymouth Argyle.

Newcastle United have also been busy. Mollie Lambert completed the switch from Durham before Katie Bradley was announced after she departed from Charlton Athletic. Irish forward Leanne Kiernan has also come in on a permanent deal from Liverpool while goalkeeper Kayla Rendell will spend the season on loan from Manchester United. Malgorzata Grec has left the club.

Fellow north east side Sunderland continue to consolidate their squad. Jamaica international Atlanta Primus has signed a permanent contract after leaving Southampton while Sanni Franssi has arrived on a season-long loan from London City Lionesses. Republic of Ireland international Marissa Sheva has signed a new one-year deal.

Bristol City have added young Welsh goalkeeper Hope McSheffrey. The 18-year-old has arrived from Arsenal, having emerged from the Academy. Meanwhile, midfield Emma Bissell makes her Robins return after departing Charlton Athletic at the end of the season.

Leicester City have made their second signing of the summer with the arrival of Sarah Mayling from Aston Villa. The 29-year-old full-back makes a permanent switch to Rick Passmoor’s side after spending the end of last season on loan at the King Power. Belgium defender Sari Kees has departed the club for Ajax.

Rachel Lowe has become Durham’s third new face of the window. The 25-year-old Australian midfielder arrives in the north east after three years at Melbourne Victory.

Nottingham Forest have once again looked to the loan system. 18-year-old Lois Shooter will spend the season on loan with Tom Mallinson’s side after signing her first professional contract with Chelsea. Fellow England youth international Codie Thomas joins her from Manchester City for the season.

It has been a quieter week for Ipswich Town. Their sole activity has been signing goalkeeper Laura Hartley to a one-year extension. She will now spend the season on loan with FAWNL side Hashtag United.

And finally, goalkeeper Emily Orman has joined Wolves on a season-long loan from London City Lionesses.

ENGLAND 1-1 SPAIN (Caldentey & Russo) England win 3-1 on penalties

The final took place in St. Jacob-Park, Basel. As ever with final days, the hours ticked by slowly. I had shot at this ground a number of times. It felt small and intimate compared to some of the others, making the action inside all the more intense. Once again the game went the distance. This was the third penalty shoot-out in five matches and the fifth extra-time in seven. Throw in celebrations and a trophy lift and it certainly was a long afternoon but so worth it.

Here are some of the magic moments.

ENGLAND 1-1 ITALY (Agyemang, Kelly & Bonansea) aet England win 2-1

It was a long drive to Geneva for this one. A drive we did three times during the tournament. It was such a different feel to the other areas of Switzerland we visited, you could definitely feel the French influence. Another game I didn’t particularly enjoy but England got there in the end. Some of you may have heard the story of ‘the photo’ I got from this game. I was, of course, the wrong end for every goal but I did get the bench after the Agyemang goal and that one did the rounds.

Another week flies by and there is another host of big signings to update you on including notable switches between Barclays WSL clubs and significant signings from abroad.

It has been Everton’s turn to make moves this week with three more incomings secured. Hannah Cain has returned to the club that offered her her first professional contract back in 2018. The 27-year-old Wales winger joins after departing Leicester City. Highly-rated Australia forward Holly McNamara has arrived on Merseyside after leaving Melbourne City on a free transfer. And in perhaps one of the least surprising moves of the summer - if you remember, she did jump out of a coffin while switching shirts at World Sevens - Hannah Blundell has made a permanent move from Manchester United after spending the end of last season on loan with the Toffees.

There was a headline signing for Crystal Palace with the arrival of Bethany England. The 32-year-old forward joins on a two-year deal with the option to extend following her departure from Tottenham. England U23 international Lexi Lloyd-Smith has also signed from Bristol City.

Amy Merricks’ Birmingham City made their first additions of the summer with four new faces. England defender Millie Turner and Norway midfielder Lisa Naalsund have signed from Manchester United. Meanwhile, 22-year-old French defender Jade Rastocle and Canadian defender Marie Lavasseur have arrived from Montpellier.

Fellow promoted side Charlton Athletic also got in on the action. 21-year-old Australian defender Grace Johnston arrives on a two-year deal from Perth Glory with an option to extend. Paula Partido has joined on a season-long loan from London City Lionesses. Meanwhile, Carla Humphrey, Ellie Mason, Anna Pedersen, Gloria Siber, Gillian Kenney, Lucy Fitzgerald, Lucia Lobato and Elisa N’Dow have all signed new deals.

Chelsea have added firepower in the form of France international Melvine Malard. The 26-year-old arrives from Manchester United on a four-year contract. Femke Liefting, meanwhile, will spend the season on loan at Ajax.

London City Lionesses continued their eye-catching spending with two more arrivals. 31-year-old France forward Kadidiatou Diani arrives in Bromley for reportedly over £500,000 after three seasons at Lyon. Rosa Kafaji, meanwhile, has moved across London from Arsenal on a three-year deal.

Tottenham Hotspur have added highly-rated youngster Alice Sombath to their defensive ranks for a club record fee. The 22-year-old centre-back has signed from Lyon where she has been a mainstay for the last five years.

Rita Guarino has continued her recruitment at West Ham. France forward Kelly Gago made the switch from Everton while Estelle Cascarino has returned from Juventus on a permanent deal after spending the second half of the last campaign on loan in East London.

Aston Villa have bolstered their goalkeeping ranks with two more additions. England’s Emily Ramsay joins from Everton while Japan’s Akane Okuma has signed from INAC Kobe Lionesses. Norway central defender Mathilde Harviken has also arrived from Juventus.

Japan attacking midfielder Mao Itamura has become Liverpool’s fifth signing of the summer after joining from Feyenoord. Meanwhile, Denise O’Sullivan has departed on loan to Gotham FC for the remainder of the 2026 NWSL season with an obligation for the US-based to buy at the end of the campaign.

Arsenal have added to their goalkeeper unit with the signing of 18-year-old Denmark shot-stopper Isabella Damm. The youngster joins from Brøndby after spending some of last season on trial in North London.

Finally, young England goalkeeper Silvana Marhsall Miranda has signed her first professional deal with Brighton.

After seasons hampered by injury, England U23 international Brooke Aspin has returned to Bristol City. An Academy product, the central defender signs three years after her departure for Chelsea.

Newly-promoted Burnley continue to bolster their squad. Northern Ireland goalkeeper Jackie Burns brings plenty of experience between the sticks after making the move from Bristol City. Republic of Ireland full-back Kiera Sena has arrived from Southampton on a two-year contract. Meanwhile, her compatriot Naoisha McAloon has signed a contract extension with the club.

Watford made their first signings of the summer. England youngster Zara Bailey has arrived from Crystal Palace while midfielder Ellie Noble has joined from Plymouth Argyle.

There have been another two incomings for a busy Ipswich Town. Scotland full-back Emma Lawton arrives from Celtic on a three-year deal while England youngster Tegan McGowan has signed from Birmingham City on a two-year contract.

Sheffield United have signed a wealth of experience in Republic of Ireland forward Lucy Quinn. The 32-year-old has arrived in Yorkshire after departing Birmingham City following their promotion to the WSL. Compatriot Maria Reynolds, a defender, has signed from Shamrock Rovers on a two-year deal with an option to extend.

Newcastle United have added Scotland full-back Rachel McLauchlan to their ranks. The 29-year-old signs from Brighton where she spent the last two seasons.

USA goalkeeper Noa Schumacher has become Sunderland’s latest recruit, joining on a two-year deal after leaving Hibernian. Republic of Ireland midfielder Marissa Sheva has signed a one-year extension with the club.

Finally, Wolves have added a former Liverpool goalkeeper to their ranks. Cadi Doran has signed after leaving the University of Washington.
