📌 A range of merchandise bearing the iconic England’s Glory logo has been launched to raise funds for a project to restore a lighting feature in Gloucester. In June a campaign got underway to raise £15,000 to illuminate the England’s Glory sign at the former Morelands Match Factory. England’s Glory was the most well-known of the Morelands brands of matches. The fundraising campaign was launched by local authors Matt Cass and Paul James and has now raised over £3,000 in donations and pledges towards the target. They have now teamed up with local business Absolutely Personal to produce a limited edition range of England’s Glory merchandise. The range includes t-shirts, mugs, keyrings, coasters, fridge magnets and tote bags. 20% of the cost goes directly to the fundraising campaign. These are the latest incidents made public via the police’s Your Community Alerts neighbourhood service:

• Cabling has been stolen from a business in Fairwater Park during the early hours of July 25th. Three male suspects in a white van were seen.

• Bank cards - which have since been used - rugby boots and a gym bag were stolen from a van in Redpoll Way overnight on July 23rd.

• A pearl necklace was stolen from a car in Tweenbrook Avenue on July 26th.

• Unknown items were stolen after the window of a Mitsubishi car was smashed in Henry Road. A male on a bike was seen early on July 24th.

• Two cars were entered in separate incidents in Barnwood Road on July 23rd and 24th. Bank cards, a driving licence, glasses and a key were stolen.

We read so we can lead our everyday lives, but we also read for the pleasure a good story can bring. The GYOR is an opportunity for all communities in the county to come together and have conversations about the importance of reading and the joy it can bring. So that Gloucestershire becomes a county of reading communities. Whether you’re a confident reader or a fledgling reader, a teacher or a pupil, a parent, family member or a carer, we hope you’ll find something here to help and inspire you.
