The Email Nobody Taught You to Write

Suvikas Bhandari ran a live workshop on cracking US GTM, and he opened with a simple provocation: share your best pickup line. The point he was making was that we approach strangers with instinctive human warmth and then sit down to write cold emails that lead with ourselves. The whole session was about closing that gap.

He walked through how the team at Myle cracked US outreach in 2014 by accident: they referenced a prospect’s personal interest in the subject line, and the responses came flooding in. That accident became a framework built around psychographic personas, understanding the person behind the job title.

• Your subject line is a pickup line. If it doesn’t create curiosity, the body doesn’t matter.

• Map your prospect’s emotions, fears, and aspirations, not just their role and company.

• Every word that says “we” or “our” before you’ve earned attention is a word that loses them.

Pitching in a Room That Gives You Honest Feedback

On July 1st, we ran a closed-room working session in Bengaluru for founders preparing for their Seed or Pre-Series A raise. Saurabh Lahoti from GTMX Ventures ran it, and he brought the kind of directness that only comes from having sat on both sides of the table.

Founders brought their actual one-slide pitches and got live feedback on the narrative. The room was small, the feedback was real, and most people left with a sharper story.

AMA with Sumit Sahu, Co-founder of Affluense

Sumit came with an honest fundraising story, not a polished one.

He spent two to three months early on taking every investor call that came in, only to realize those conversations served the investors’ market research more than his company.

He stopped, went back to building, and returned to fundraising only once Affluense had a paid customer and real traction. His read: pre-seed no longer means idea-stage. Investors want early proof.

What worked was building an ICP for investors the same way you build one for customers. Targeting the right angels and micro-VCs in fintech and wealthtech led to Zeropearl as lead and Kunal and Praveen Jadav as angels.

He also shared how a low-valuation term sheet he never accepted forced him through ninety detailed diligence questions — and that over-preparation is what closed the round he actually wanted.

One line that stayed in the room: the best time to raise is when you do not need to.

Swati Pariwal of ReSo.ai opened the floor for founder discussions in late March. Founders taught founders. The conversation on GEO vs SEO went deep because everyone in the room had skin in the game.

Anuj Joshi of Channlworks brought that same energy to our ecosystem-led GTM session. Founders were navigating real partner decisions in the room, from working with large SIs, to structuring margins, to knowing when to build a channel at all. His answer was not a framework. It was a hard truth. Decide who not to work with before you decide who to work with.

GTM Trends that B2B SaaS Founders Are Exploring in 2026

Hiring is broken, & Communities are the fix. Sam Altman of Y Combinator has said that most great tech companies were built on personal referrals for at least their first 100 employees. That holds even more true today. Job boards are noisy, and intent is unclear. The founders hiring well in 2026 are doing it through trusted networks and communities, before the role even opens.

Your pitch is not ready until a peer has heard it. Ben Horowitz of a16z put it plainly: the story must explain at a fundamental level why you exist. Traction gets you the meeting. Your narrative gets you the term sheet. Founders who practice their pitch in front of other founders who will ask the hard questions are the ones closing rounds faster.

GEO is now a GTM problem; B2B buyers now open ChatGPT or Perplexity before they open Google. If your product is not showing up in AI-generated answers, you are not in the consideration set before the buyer even reaches your website. GEO is no longer optional. It is a front-of-funnel GTM decision.

Dark social is where trust compounds: The deals being closed in 2026 are starting in WhatsApp threads, LinkedIn DMs, and private community referrals. Your CRM will never capture them. Build for word of mouth and peer trust along with attribution.

Last week, we wrapped up Converge’26 in Bangalore.

We had 80+ people in the room. Founders, GTM professionals, investors. The event started at 3:30 PM and went on till about 8 PM, followed by dinner. What surprised me was not the turnout. It was the energy.

People stayed back. Conversations did not feel forced. No one was in a rush to “network.” They were actually listening.

For months, we kept hearing the same thing from founders. Hiring is getting harder. Not because talent is missing, but because context is missing. Professionals want to understand the story before committing. Investors want to see teams beyond slides.

Converge’26 was our attempt to bring all of that into one room and it worked!

The conversations felt real. Founders spoke openly about what they are building and who they are looking for. Professionals asked better questions. Investors leaned in instead of scanning the room.

For GTMDialogues, this was an important milestone. It was our first large hiring-led offline initiative. And it showed us something simple. When the room is curated with intent, people show up differently.

This year felt like growth shaped by conversations. As you showed up to sessions, one belief kept getting stronger. Learning happens best when founders sit with founders and speak openly.

As the community grew, so did the circle of partners who shared this intent. GTMDialogues exists to hold space for real founder conversations. Spaces where you participate, share lived experiences, and learn from each other. This year was about building that space with consistency, care, and purpose.

Walking With Founders Through Capital, Customers, and Talent

GTMDialogues is built to support founders beyond conversations. Last year, our scale-up practices came into focus by helping founders improve how they raised capital, hired teams, and accessed the right customers.

Every format we designed was tied back to these outcomes. Detours were shaped around better stories, stronger investor conversations, and real connections. Through workshops across Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai, founders refined how they spoke about their journey.

A milestone moment came in Hyderabad, where over 100 founders engaged deeply through a half-day format.

At the core of GTMDialogues are three pillars that guide our work. Customer access through investors and buyers. Capital support through fundraising and CFO advisory. Talent enablement through hiring practices designed for scale. These pillars shape how we support founders as a company, not just as a community.

Peer-to-peer sessions became the connective layer across everything we do. Founders showed up as equal contributors, openly sharing highs and lows. These spaces worked because they were designed to be founder-led, safe, and outcome-driven.

Consistency made this value visible over time. By showing up every month with relevant formats, GTMDialogues has earned trust. That trust is what allows founders to return, participate deeply, and rely on the community as part of their growth journey.

The Conversations That Shaped the Year:

As the year progressed, patterns began to form. Founders stayed longer in sessions where conversations felt honest and outcomes felt possible. Over time, three formats consistently stood out for the depth of engagement they created.

What founders leaned into the most:

• Buyer’s POV sessions that brought real buyers into the room

• AMAs that allowed direct, unfiltered questions to VCs

• Detour workshops that made space for long, thoughtful discussions

Detours created space for deeper learning. Across seven workshops, founders unpacked fundraising stories and growth decisions together. The longer format allowed conversations to move beyond tactics into real reflection.

AMA with VC sessions brought much-needed clarity. In two focused AMAs, founders asked direct questions and received equally direct answers from investors. Follow-up conversations helped turn insight into next steps.

Buyer’s POV sessions added a fresh perspective. Through four sessions, founders heard directly from enterprise buyers on how decisions are made and what truly matters. These conversations helped founders rethink how their products are viewed on the other side.

Deepdives brought everything together through peer-led formats. Three small-group sessions allowed founders to openly share wins, doubts, and lessons. The absence of speakers made every voice count.

A Snapshot of the Community We Built Together

As the year progressed, growth showed up quietly in participation and presence. The community expanded through founders returning to conversations.

• 3,000+ founders as part of the wider GTMD ecosystem

These conversations travelled across cities and formats. Founders came together in Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Pune, with regular sessions running about an hour and Detours stretching into five to six hours of deep discussion.

• Blogs and AMA recaps extending learning beyond the room

As the community matures, our focus is becoming sharper. In 2026, we are leaning deeper into themes that founders spoke about repeatedly last year. The significance of peer-driven conversations and the need to hire the right talent.

This led us to design Converge’26, an event built to bring hiring back to real conversations, where founders and talent meet with clarity and shared context.

What Converge’26 is designed to create:

• A curated, outcome-driven room for B2B SaaS founders actively hiring

• Structured pitch slots where founders present their company, team, and open roles

• Focused 1:1 conversations with GTM and Founder’s Office talent who are exploring their next move

Alongside hiring conversations, Converge’26 also creates space for investor interaction. A small group of investors will be part of the room, allowing founders to have unhurried conversations, get feedback, and build relationships that continue beyond the event.
