There is a particular kind of tiredness that comes from working on something no one else can see growing yet.

You have been posting.

You have been learning.

You have rewritten the hooks, tested the trending audios, changed your content pillars, adjusted your bio, redesigned the covers, and promised yourself that this week you will finally become consistent.

Then you open Instagram and see another post sitting at 243 views.

Or perhaps the views are no longer the problem.

You have started building a following. People save your posts. Some of them reply to your stories. You may even have made a few sales, just enough to prove that this can work, but not consistently enough to let you relax into it.

You are no longer standing at the beginning.

But you do not feel as though you have arrived anywhere either.

You are in the messy middle.

It is the space between I think this could work and I know how to make this work again.

And it can be one of the loneliest parts of building a faceless brand.

At the beginning, there was a certain lightness to it.

The idea of creating income online without showing your face felt freeing. You could build something quietly, on your own terms. You did not need to become an influencer, perform your life online, or convince yourself to be someone louder than you are.

It felt like a path towards more freedom.

But somewhere along the way, the page that was meant to create more space in your life began taking up an enormous amount of space in your mind.

You think about what to post while making dinner.

You check the views when you wake up.

You save advice you do not have time to use.

You wonder if you chose the wrong niche, the wrong offer, the wrong platform, or the wrong kind of content.

One creator says you need to post three Reels a day.

Another says Reels are no longer enough.

Someone tells you to narrow your niche.

Someone else tells you that you have narrowed it too far.

You hear that educational content converts, then that education is boring and storytelling is the only way forward. You are told to sell every day, give more value, create more curiosity, be more personal, use more automation, make it simpler, and somehow also build a complete funnel.

So you change something.

For a few days, the new strategy gives you energy. It feels like movement. It feels as though you may have finally found the missing piece.

Then the results do not change quickly enough.

The motivation disappears.

And you start looking for the next answer.

Strategy-hopping can look a lot like ambition from the outside. You are constantly learning and doing.

But internally, it feels different.

It feels like never being able to settle.

Never trusting yourself long enough to see what your own ideas could become.

Never knowing whether something failed, or whether you simply left it too soon.

The hardest part is that nothing is completely broken.

Some posts do better than others.

People are following.

Perhaps a few people have bought from you.

There is enough evidence to make you believe in the possibility, but not enough consistency to let you exhale.

So you stay caught between hope and doubt.

You do not want to give up on the business.

You are simply tired of feeling as though you have to rebuild it every Monday.

But what if the reason it all feels so heavy is not that you chose the wrong strategy?

What if it is that, somewhere between the advice, the trends, and the pressure to grow, you slowly built a page you no longer know how to lead?

Because when a faceless creator feels lost, the problem is not always that she is doing the wrong things.

More often, she has lost her grip around three things:

Who she is.

What she actually wants to build.

I’ve written about that beginning, and everything that came with it, much more honestly

But what’s interesting to me now is that I don’t only have my own beginning to look back on anymore.

Since building Simply Faceless, I’ve watched hundreds of women start their own pages. I see their questions in my DMs, their bios, their content, the things they overthink and the places they get stuck.

And there’s one mistake I can almost spot before I’ve scrolled past their first three posts.

She has done the work.

She has chosen her niche. She has written her bio. She knows she wants to speak to women. She has probably even filled out one of those ideal customer worksheets that asks what her person earns, whether she is married, how old her children are and what she likes to drink at Starbucks.

Then I ask:

Who exactly are you trying to reach?

And I get something like:
“Women aged 25–45 who work a 9–5 and want more freedom.”

Or:
“Moms who want to make money online.”

Or:
“Women who are interested in wellness and slow living.”

And technically, yes.

That is a target audience.

But it also tells me almost nothing.

It doesn’t tell you how she spends her evenings. It doesn’t tell you what she notices, what she scrolls past, what she saves, what she feels slightly embarrassed to admit she wants, or what kind of life she is quietly trying to move toward.

And that is where the difference between a generic page and a brand people actually feel connected to begins.

A target audience is not really a collection of demographics. It is a person living inside a very particular world. And the better you understand that world, the easier almost every other part of your business becomes.

Your content gets clearer. Your messaging gets sharper. Your offers make more sense. You stop trying to sound like everyone else in your niche. And I think most importantly, the right person starts to recognize herself in what you’re saying.

That is the point.

Not to reach “women.” Not to reach “moms.” Not to reach “people who want passive income.” - To reach the woman who reads something you’ve written and thinks:

Oh. She gets it.

The problem with defining your audience from the outside

Let’s say two women are both 36. Both have children. Both work a 9–5. Both say they want more freedom.

On paper, they look almost identical. But one of them spends her evenings watching videos about investing, researching index funds and wondering how to retire early. The other saves slow morning routines, beautiful homes, simple recipes and stories from women who left corporate jobs because she is exhausted by the pace of her life.

They both want freedom. But they do not mean the same thing by it.

One might want financial leverage → The other wants spaciousness.

One might be motivated by numbers, independence and building wealth → The other might be motivated by time, identity, creativity and wanting to feel like herself again.

If you speak to both of them in the same vague language, your content may technically be relevant, but it will rarely feel specific. And this is where I think a lot of people misunderstand “niching down.” They assume specificity means shrinking the number of topics they are allowed to talk about. So they decide: “I’m a faceless marketing account.” Then every post becomes about faceless marketing.

• How to grow.

• How to make sales.

• How to create Reels.

• How to choose a digital product.

Eventually the entire page starts speaking the language of the industry rather than the language of the woman it is supposed to serve.

And that is a very different thing.

Your audience does not necessarily wake up thinking:
I need better top-of-funnel content today.

She might wake up thinking:
I cannot keep doing this job forever.

She may not think:
I need a digital product strategy.

She might think:
I would love to have something that is mine.

She may not identify with the phrase “make money online” at all. She may actually be repelled by it. But she still wants options. She still wants independence. She still wants to know what it would feel like to build something from her laptop that could eventually give her more room in her life.

That distinction matters enormously.

Because good positioning does not begin with the thing you sell. It begins with the life your person is already living before she ever knows your solution exists.

Your niche is not the world she lives in

This is also why I think the advice to “only engage with accounts in your niche” is often misunderstood.

If you sell something related to building a faceless business, you might assume you should spend your time interacting with other faceless business accounts.

But think about who those accounts are actually attracting. A lot of the time, they are attracting other people who are already doing the same thing.

• Other marketers.

• Other sellers.

• Other creators who already understand the terminology.

But your ideal person may not live there yet. She might be following a woman who shares simple weekday routines.

• A career creator talking about burnout.

• A personal development account.

• A budgeting page.

• A mom who left her job and changed the shape of her week.

• An interior account that represents the slower life she wants.

• A book account.

• A wellness creator.

• A woman talking about confidence.

• A creator documenting a small business she built from scratch.

None of those accounts necessarily look like your niche. But they may all live inside the same world as your target audience. And once you understand that, the way you operate starts to change.

You stop asking:
“What accounts are similar to mine?”

And you start asking:
“Where is she already spending her attention?”

That is a much more useful question.

The strongest brands do not just solve a problem. They create a world.

This is the part I wish more people understood.

The brands we feel most drawn to rarely talk about one problem all day long. They create a world we want to step into. The clothes, the language, the imagery, the values, the ideas, the aspirations, the pace, the way of seeing things all belong together.

You begin to understand not only what they sell, but who the person who buys from them is becoming. That is what makes a brand feel like more than information. And you can do the same thing even if you are building a faceless page.

In fact, I would argue it matters even more.

Because when your face is not the main point of connection, your worldview has to do more of the work.

• The stories you tell.

• The details you notice.

• The examples you use.

• The beliefs you repeat.

• The kind of future you help someone imagine.

• The way you make her feel when she lands on your page.

All of that becomes part of the brand. And that is how you stop sounding like another person teaching the same topic.

You are not just teaching a niche. You are creating a place where a particular woman feels understood.

If you’ve been building your target audience around age, gender, job title and a vague desire like “more freedom,” this is the point where I want you to go deeper.

If you’ve been here a while you know two things about me.

I don’t show my face on my page.

And that page went from zero followers to $100,812 in its first six months.

I was a mother of two, working full time, stuck in a situation I wanted out of so badly that I couldn’t really talk about it without my voice going. I had no audience. No experience. No business background, nothing. What I had was one thought that wouldn’t leave me alone, which was that if there was even a small chance here, I had to take it. Even if it didn’t work. I just had to know.

So I dove in. And a whole new world opened up, and I realised how soo much there was that I didn’t know.

Since then I’ve built Simply Faceless and over five hundred women have gone through it. Which means I don’t only see my own beginning anymore. I see hundreds of them, every week, in my DMs and my inbox and my comments.

And watching that many women start at once has shown me something I could never have seen from inside my own journey.

The pattern I can’t unsee

It goes like this.

She starts a faceless page. She’s excited, she’s been thinking about it for months, and she posts every day for three or four weeks. Growth is slow. Slower than she expected. So she starts checking the numbers more than she’s making the content, and around week six she’s posting less, and by week ten she’s stopped.

And the story she tells herself on the way out is almost always word for word the same:

“Faceless marketing must be saturated by now. I probably started too late.”

I get some version of that message most days. So let me answer it the way I’d answer a friend who was sitting in my kitchen.

It isn’t saturated. You didn’t start too late.

You started backwards. Almost everyone does. I did.

Faceless marketing isn't the problem. The order is.

Here’s the thing I wish I’d understood in month one.

A faceless page is not a harder version of a normal page. It’s a different build. And it has to go in a specific order, because you’re missing the one shortcut everybody else gets to use.

When a woman shows her face, trust arrives fast. You see a person, you decide within a couple of seconds whether you like her, and the connection does a lot of the selling before anyone has read a single word.

Without a face you have to build that same trust out of other material. Clarity. Consistency. Honesty. A message so specific that a woman reads it and feels a bit exposed, like you’ve been reading her notes app.

All of that is buildable. I built it and so have thousands of women since. But it goes in an order, and out of order nothing compounds. You just work incredibly hard on a page that never quite catches.

If you’re at the beginning, read them as a checklist. If you’re six months in and stuck, read them as a diagnosis, because one of these is almost certainly the thing.

Mistake #1: Building the aesthetic before you know who it's for

Nearly every woman starts here. I started here.

You choose a palette. You find the fonts. You build the templates and line up the grid so it flows, and then you move a text box half a pixel to the left, and then half a pixel back.

It feels like work. It looks like progress. It produces nothing.

Because underneath all of it there’s a question you haven’t answered: who is this for, and what does she actually need from me?

A beautiful page aimed at nobody is a beautiful page that nobody needs. The aesthetic is not the strategy, it’s what you wrap around the strategy once you have one, and most of us build the wrapping first because the wrapping is the part we already know how to do. It’s the comfortable part. That’s the whole reason we do it first.

What I’d do instead: before you open Canva, spend a week on one woman. Not a demographic, not “women 25-45.” One woman, specific enough that you could describe her kitchen. What is she frustrated about at eleven at night. What has she already tried that didn’t work. What would she pay money to stop feeling.

Write it down and keep it somewhere you’ll see it. Then build the page for her. Your branding will take an afternoon after that, and you’ll choose it faster, because you’ll know what she responds to.

Mistake #2: Waiting until you feel like an expert

I sat on so much content because I didn’t feel qualified to say it.

Who was I to talk about building an income online when I’d been doing it four months? Who was I to give anybody advice when my own numbers were small? I kept waiting for a future version of me who had somehow earned the right to speak. And while I waited I posted nothing that was actually mine, just safe things, quotes and pretty words, content that could have belonged to anyone.

Nobody was waiting for an expert though. That’s what I understand now. They were waiting for a woman one or two steps ahead of them who was telling the truth about the walk.

The small numbers were the point.

Post from where you are, not from where you think you're supposed to be. Say the real number. Say the month that didn't work, say the week you cried about it. Your honest journey is the asset and you already own it, you don't have to go away and earn it first.

Mistake #3: Trying to fix a positioning problem with more posts

This one costs the most and it’s the one I most want you to hear.

When things aren’t landing, the instinct is volume. Post more. Post twice a day. More reels, more carousels, more captions. Show up harder. If it isn’t working, do more of it.

It never works.

And worse than not working, it makes you tired enough to quit, which is the actual danger. Nobody quits because their page failed. They quit because they’re exhausted and the page hasn’t paid them back yet.

More of the wrong thing gives you more of the same result, just faster. If the offer isn’t clear, if the audience isn’t right, if the message doesn’t land, no amount of output repairs that. You just prove the same thing to yourself over and over until you’ve got nothing left.

The month I slowed down and properly looked at what I’d already made was the month it turned. Which posts brought followers, which brought saves, which brought absolutely nothing no matter how much I personally loved them. And there were a few I loved. Two hours inside my own insights taught me more than the six weeks of posting before it.

So here’s what I do now. Once a month I stop making and start reading. Open your insights, pull your top five and your bottom five, and ask what the top five have in common that the bottom five don’t. Then make more of that.

Strategy first. Volume second. Volume without strategy is just a treadmill you built for yourself.

It changed me to my core. The way where you’re lying in a hospital bed doing math on your own life. Who am I, really? What actually matters? And why have I spent twenty years chasing something that was never going to give me what I wanted?

Because from the perspective of the girl who envisioned her older self, I had reached the point I thought was the goal. The nice chair in marketing. The title I’d been aiming at since I was twenty. But climbing all the way up there, actually only came with more pressure and having to argument for my worth and only getting a tiny raise.

That’s not at all what I’d envisioned. I wanted to become a woman who climbed and reached a point of relief. Financial breathing room. The ability to cut down my hours and spend real time with my family.

When I finally admitted that was never going to happen where I was, I felt stuck. Trying to convince myself that I should be satisfied, settled. But deep down I became more and more unhappy with myself.

Social media wasn’t new to me. I’d worked in marketing for two decades. But I thought earning online required being ”that” woman. The one who happily steps in front of the camera, knowing exactly how to pose, confident, loving the spotlight, sharing her whole life for the world to see.

That was so far from my authentic self it wasn’t even a conversation.

It never occurred to me that there could be a different way. Where I could be myself. Truly. And build a personal brand and a digital marketing business that made me a millionaire without ever having to put my face or my private life on display.

When I started I had no clue how it would unfold. I just knew that if they’re was a chance for me to step away from the situation I’d found myself stuck in, I would absolutely give it a try.

I dove in, and a new world opened up. And I realized there was soo much for me to learn. It made me want to throw in the towel more times than I can count, but the force in me to keep going and not quitting on myself was so strong, I just kept going. It took a lot of strength, discipline and commitment. But for every step I took, I surprised myself of how much growth I was doing. The distance between the woman who started and the woman rising was expanding, and I started to build a sense of inner proudness of what I was able to achieve.

I had to go through a lot of trial and error, investing in different trainings and courses, puzzling together and learning as I went, until the clarity of what actually worked. It wasn’t about doing more or working harder, but having clarity on the roadmap, the what to do and when. Especially for a brand that’s building without the face attached to it.

& I realized that no course of all the ones I’d taken had given me the clearest version, they were all stuffed with things that made it foggy and not clear to see. That became the seed that planted the idea of creating my own course.

If you’re thinking you’re too late… I thought the exact same thing when I started. Then I saw the numbers.

Pick the one you could talk about for years without getting bored. THAT matters so much more than finding the “perfect” one.

How to start and earn through digital marketing without showing your face in 2026

Step 1: Define your vision, your niche, and your brand

Get clear on who you’re helping and what you’re helping her with. And I don’t mean “women who want a better life”… that’s everyone. I mean ONE specific woman, with ONE specific problem, who you can speak to like a friend who’s been exactly where she is. Your brand grows out of that clarity, the name, the look, the voice. None of it requires your face. ALL of it requires knowing exactly who it’s for.

Step 2: Launch a social media channel to grow your faceless brand

It can be anything, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, Substack. Don’t overthink this choice. Pick the one where your woman already spends her time, and where creating content feels doable for YOU. Because the channel you’ll actually show up on will always beat the “perfect” one you keep avoiding.

Step 3: Grow your audience & build trust without showing your face

Followers were never the goal. TRUST is. A faceless brand earns trust the same way any brand does, by showing up consistently, saying something real, and helping before asking for anything. This is where you build a brand SO strong that women buy from it without ever needing to see the face behind it. I’m living proof that it works.

The foundation stays the same no matter what platform you choose. The vision, the niche, the connection. That’s the biggest part of the work.

For years, Substack punished people like us. You wrote essays into a quiet room, your subscribers read them, and growth crawled unless you dragged an audience over from another platform. Then Substack built Notes, a short-form feed with real discovery, and the math flipped. Your posts reach people who already subscribed. Your notes reach strangers. Two different audiences, two different jobs, and almost everyone on the platform is still pouring their hours into the first one.

I want you to pour yours into the second. And I want to tell you why the incentives make this a better deal than any feed you’ve worked before: Substack’s algorithm optimizes for subscriptions. Instagram wants your watch time. TikTok wants your session length. Notes wants readers to find a writer worth following and paying, because that’s how Substack eats. Your Instagram instincts mostly transfer. Two of them will hurt you.

The shape of the game is one you know: short value, posted daily, shown to strangers, converting the curious through your profile. Swap “followers” for “subscribers” and you’ve described Notes.

But bring two Instagram habits with you and they’ll quietly wreck your results.

The first is chasing reach. On Instagram, reach was the prize because reach fed the whole machine. On Notes, a viral note in front of the wrong people gets you a dopamine spike and nothing else. Carrie’s data drew the line I now judge every note against: entertainment gets likes, education gets subscribers, generosity gets both. I’d rather you write a note 40 people read and 4 subscribe from than one that gets 4,000 likes from scrollers who never click your name.

The second is the aesthetic burden. There are no templates here, no brand colors, no trending audio, and I mean this as the good news it is. A plain paragraph that solves a real problem beats a beautiful graphic on this feed. A lot of us went faceless because we never wanted to perform in the first place. Notes is the first platform I’ve seen where that choice costs you nothing.

The three formats worth most of your time

Carrie rotates seven note formats. Learn all seven eventually. Three notes formats of them do the converting, and I want you fluent in those first.

Generosity. Recommend another writer. Share the most useful thing you read this week and say why. Answer a stranger’s question in the replies with more care than the question deserved. In her tracking, generosity converted more subscribers than any other format, and once you watch the feed for a week you’ll see why: everyone is pitching. The one person giving without an ask is the one you trust enough to follow. Write one of these every single day. It costs you two minutes and it out-earns everything clever you’ll ever write.

Quick fixes. One problem, solved in under a minute of reading. “Your digital product isn’t selling? Rewrite the first line of the sales page to name the problem it solves. Mine went from 2 sales a week to 9 when I did.” You wrote a hundred carousels exactly like this. Same muscle, minus Canva.

Behind the scenes. What you earned, what flopped, what you’re testing, with numbers wherever you can share them. Our niche is full of screenshot bros and rented Lamborghinis, and readers here have been burned by all of them. Radical transparency about the business, from a woman who doesn’t need to show her face to prove anything, is a combination this space has almost none of. Use it.

Season with the rest as they come to you: a contrarian take you can actually defend, an honest question, a confession when something went sideways. Just don’t let the mix drift toward entertainment. Likes are not the job.

The 20 minutes

The writers growing fastest right now put Notes first and treat long posts as the anchor. That inverts everything we were taught about newsletters, and I’ve stopped resisting it. Here’s how I’d structure the time.

First five minutes: reply before you post. Three to five real replies on notes from writers in your niche. Your name shows up in front of their readers, and the algorithm treats a participant better than a broadcaster. Think of it as the honest, public version of an engagement pod.

Next ten: write two or three notes from the formats above. First line earns the second line, same as every hook you’ve ever written. No hashtags, no “thread below.” If a note points to your latest post, the link is the payoff at the end, never the opener. Nobody follows a stranger who opens with a link.

Last five: restack one thing you loved with a sentence on why, glance at which of yesterday’s notes brought subscribers, log off. The feed will absolutely try to keep you, and the routine only survives if 20 minutes means 20.

Cadence: one to three notes a day for the first two months, spaced across the day rather than dumped at 9am, because spacing improves distribution. You can ramp later. I care much more that you’re still doing this in week nine than that you posted five notes on day two.

Stop looking for new ideas. Start slicing.

You don’t need a daily idea machine. You need a knife and your own archive.

One article yields dozens of notes. Every subheading is a tip. Every stat is a one-liner plus why it matters. Every mistake you admitted is a confession note. Every writer or tool you cited is a generosity note. Every opinion you defended is a contrarian note.

Take a post like “5 Faceless Niches Quietly Exploding Right Now.” Sliced: five quick fixes, one per niche with its single best number. One contrarian take, something like “the best faceless niche is the one you’ll still care about in month six, and no CPM chart changes that.” One behind-the-scenes on which niche you’re betting on. One generosity note crediting the researcher whose data you used. One question, “which niche are you in? I’ll reply to everyone.” That’s nine notes from work you already did.

Batch it Sunday night

Substack shipped scheduling and drafts for Notes in June, which removed the last real excuse.

My recommendation: 45 minutes on Sunday. Slice the week’s article into 10 to 15 notes, schedule them two or three a day at spaced times, done. Your daily 20 minutes shrinks to the one part that can’t be automated, the replying, which you can do from your phone in the school pickup line.

What not to do: don’t schedule the week and disappear. A feed that posts on time and never replies reads as a bot, and it converts like one. The scheduled notes are seeds. The five daily minutes of actual conversation is what makes them grow.

The only number I want you tracking

Once a week, open your stats and look at one thing: subscribers who came from Notes. That’s the scoreboard. Everything else on that feed is weather.

A note with 400 likes and zero subscribers taught you nothing except what scrollers enjoy. A note with 9 likes that brought 4 subscribers is a template, and I want you to study it and write it again in a new outfit. Carrie found 62% of her recent subscribers came from notes because she measured. Keep a running list of your five best converters. That list, six months from now, will be worth more to you than any growth guide, including this one.

Your first 30 days

Week one, replies and restacks only. Learn the room before you speak. Week two, start your daily two or three notes, heavy on generosity and quick fixes. Week three, run your first Sunday batch against your latest article. Week four, open the scoreboard, double down on what converted, drop what didn’t.

You learned the hard version of this game on a platform that wanted you filming, editing, and performing on a schedule you couldn’t sustain. This is the version where writing is enough, 20 minutes is enough, and the algorithm is on your side for once. I’d get there before the crowd does.

Just a DM thread with a woman who’d been following my page for some time, asking if the thing I’d hinted at in my stories was real.

When the payment notification came through I actually put the phone face-down on the cushion. Picked it up. Read it again. The sales notification, from a stranger, for something I made.

I want to walk you through exactly how that happened, because it wasn’t luck & it wasn’t charisma. It was a sequence I’ve now repeated several thousand times over, & I can hand you every word of it.

Selling in DMs is not what you think it is

You’ve seen the gross version. A stranger slides in with “hey girl!! 🥰” & three messages later you’re being pitched a mastermind.

That version deserves its reputation. And here’s the part nobody says out loud: that version exists because it’s what gets taught, & it gets taught because it scales for the person teaching it. “Send 20 cold DMs a day” is advice you can sell to anyone, because it requires nothing from the seller’s offer & everything from the buyer’s stamina. Cold volume is the strategy of people whose product can’t create its own demand.

I think the entire online business industry has this backwards. The gurus treat attention as something you extract. I treat it as something you’re lent, & the interest rate on borrowed attention is trust.

So I never DM cold followers. I never pitch anyone who hasn’t raised her hand first. The whole system runs on one rule:

You only ever pitch people who invited the pitch.

I call it the invited pitch. You post a short story sequence that lets warm people identify themselves, & then the DM isn’t an interruption. You’re answering a question she was already asking.

She feels seen. You feel like a human. And selling stops requiring a personality transplant.

That last part is the actual point, & it’s the hill I’ll die on: if a sales method requires you to become someone else, the method is broken, not you. The industry keeps selling women confidence courses to survive tactics that should never have needed surviving. You don’t need more confidence to send a cold pitch. You need a system where the pitch is never cold.

The shape of the system

Here’s the skeleton, so you can judge for yourself whether this is something you’d use before you decide to unlock the rest:

1. A 3-slide story sequence that surfaces warm leads (the poll on slide 2 does the sorting for you)

2. A filter: you DM only the people who tapped, replied, or answered.

3. A 4-message arc: open → mirror → bridge → invite. Each message has one job & none of them is “convince her.”

4. A genuine thank-you for every no. Some of my best sales came months after a no, because the no cost her nothing.

Notice what’s missing. There’s no urgency timer. No “only 3 spots left.” No objection-handling script designed to corner her. I left those out on purpose, because manufactured scarcity is a tax you charge your own reputation, & it compounds. Every fake deadline you set makes your next real one worth less.

The first time I ran this, 20 people responded to the story sequence. I sent 20 DMs. 5 turned into real conversations, & 2 of those women bought. That’s a 10% close rate on maybe an hour of typing, in my pajamas, without showing my face once.

If you’ve been told you need a webinar funnel or a “high-ticket closer,” look at those numbers again. Webinar funnels exist because they’re what funnel-builders sell. Closers exist because someone decided the seller & the person who cares about the product should be two different people. I think the person who made the thing should be the one who sells it, because she’s the only one who can answer message 2 honestly.

Most online courses aren’t scams, but some are, and the way to tell them apart has nothing to do with price. It’s whether the course teaches a real, sequenced skill or just promises a magic result. Here’s the part I find fascinating though: most of the suspicion isn’t even about the course itself.

We’re not suspicious of “a course.” We’re suspicious of anything that lives outside the story we were told about how life is supposed to work.

& we were ALL told the same story, weren’t we?

Go to school. Get the grades. Get the degree. Land the 9-5. Show up 40 hours a week. Climb slowly. Keep your head down. Maybe get a raise. Retire eventually, if you’re lucky & the economy behaves.

That’s “the safe path.” That’s “the responsible thing.” That’s what our parents did & their parents did & basically everyone we know is currently doing.

So when something shows up that doesn’t fit that map… your brain doesn’t light up & go “ooh, an opportunity.” It does the opposite. It goes nope. suspicious. sit back down.

Why does investing in a course feel so risky?

It feels risky because your brain is protecting your familiar, not your future. Those two things get confused constantly, & the confusion is expensive.

I used to think that suspicious feeling meant I was being smart. It doesn’t. Your brain isn’t protecting your future when it flinches. It’s protecting your FAMILIAR. Those are not the same thing.

The familiar feels safe because it’s known, not because it’s actually working for you. Plenty of people are miserable inside the “safe” path. The 40-hour week didn’t come with a happiness guarantee. It just came with a story that made it feel normal.

& I think that right there… that little flinch away from the unfamiliar… is the quiet difference between the people who change their lives & the people who stay exactly where they are.

It’s not talent. I promise you it’s not. It’s not luck, & it’s not even money.

It’s who’s brave enough to try the unfamiliar thing anyway, while their brain is screaming at them to sit back down.

What is an online course actually?

A real online course is a sequenced system that teaches you a complete, transferable skill from start to finish, not a single PDF or a folder of motivational vibes. The whole thing only works because the pieces connect in a specific order.

When someone types “selling a course??” with the laughing emojis, there’s a whole picture behind it. A dusty PDF. A recycled Canva template. Someone reading motivational quotes at you for 40 minutes. Vibes, basically. Vibes with a price tag.

& yeah. If that’s what a course was, I’d be laughing too. But that’s not what I built, & it’s not what I’m talking about.

What do you actually learn in a good online course?

You learn a full business system, in order: how to define your vision, brand yourself, find your audience, grow, sell, & automate. Each piece has a different job, & the magic is in the sequence, not the effort. Here’s the order I teach.

Defining your vision. Not a vague “I want to make money online” but an actual direction so you’re not posting into the void hoping something sticks.

Learning how to brand yourself. How you show up, what you stand for, why anyone should stop scrolling & care.

Knowing exactly who you’re talking to. Because “everyone” is not an audience, & talking to everyone is how you end up reaching no one.

Social media growth that actually moves the needle. Not follower-count vanity. The kind of growth that brings the right people in.

Sales strategies that don’t feel gross. Because most of us were never taught how to sell without feeling like we’re bothering people, & that alone keeps so many good women silent about work they’re proud of.

& then automations so the whole thing runs like a real business instead of a job you clock into every waking hour.

Together. In order. As ONE machine.

Any one of these things, you can find for free. Scattered across 400 reels & 12 podcasts & a Google rabbit hole you’ll climb into at 11pm & never climb back out of. I’m not pretending the information is secret. It’s not.

What you’re actually paying for is the sequence. The order. The “do this, then this, skip that entirely.” The two years of trial & error that someone already survived so you don’t have to.

Because here’s the thing nobody tells beginners: most people don’t fail from lack of effort. They fail from doing the right things in the wrong order. They work SO hard. On the wrong thing. At the wrong time. & then they conclude they’re just not cut out for it & they quietly give up.

That’s the part that breaks my heart a little. It was never about them not being capable.

& everything I just listed? Those are skills. Real, transferable, change-your-life skills. The kind that don't disappear when the course ends. The kind you carry into everything you build after, forever.

Why will we pay for a college degree but laugh at a course?

Because a degree fits the story we were raised to trust & a course doesn’t, even when the course teaches the same skill faster & cheaper. The judgement is about familiarity, not value.

We will HAPPILY hand over tens of thousands of dollars for a degree. Sometimes hundreds of thousands. We’ll take on debt that follows us around for a decade. & then… we’ll spend years working just to land the job the degree was supposed to get us. & then work harder to climb. & then wait another decade for the income to slowly, slowly catch up.

& we call THAT the safe, respectable, sensible path. Nobody comments “lol you paid for COLLEGE??” under anyone’s graduation photo.

I’m not knocking degrees. I have one. I’ll get to that in a second.

I just think it’s wild that we’ve decided a six-figure, ten-year version of learning a skill is respectable, but a condensed version with a real outcome & a fraction of the price is a “sc*m.”

A course, when it’s actually built well, is just… the compressed version. Same skill-building. Same real outcome. Without the crushing price tag & without the ten years of grinding your way up from the bottom.

Whether you want to see it that way is genuinely up to you. But I think it’s worth actually looking at, instead of laughing & scrolling past.

How do you tell a real course from a scam? (A quick checklist.)

Before you buy anything, run it through these five questions. If it passes, it's probably worth your money. If it fails most of them, keep your card in your pocket.

1. Does it teach a sequence, or just tips? A real course has an order. A scam has a pile of disconnected “value.”

2. Are the skills transferable? Will you still have them after the course ends & carry them into whatever you build next? Or does the “result” vanish the second you stop paying?

3. Is the outcome specific? “Change your life” is a red flag. “Go from 0 to your first sale” is a real, checkable outcome.

4. Has the person actually done the thing? Not talked about it. Done it. Lived the messy version first.

5. Does it respect you enough to tell you it’ll take work? Anything promising overnight magic with zero effort is the actual scam.

Is investing in an online course worth it? Here's why I can say yes.

It’s worth it when you’ve genuinely got both sides to compare, & I do. I did it the long, expensive way AND the short way, so this isn’t theory for me.

When I started this account, I had zero experience in any of this. Faceless content, building an audience, this entire online world… completely new to me. I was an introverted mom of two who left corporate & had no idea if any of it would work.

& yes, before that, I have the “respectable” version of the story too. I have a marketing degree. I spent years climbing the corporate marketing ladder. I did the whole thing. I got to a level that was supposed to feel like arriving.

You know what I found at the top? More pressure & a nicer chair. That was it.

& here’s what still surprises me to admit: these last couple of years building this account taught me more than any of it. More than the degree. More than the years in the corporate marketing world. It equipped me with skills I know I’ll leverage for years to come, no matter what changes.

Why are social media skills becoming so valuable in 2026?

Because the way people work is shifting, & the ability to build an audience, communicate, & sell online is turning into one of the most valuable, future-proof skills a person can have. This isn’t a fad. It’s a change in how income gets made.

The people who learn to build an audience, communicate, & sell online are going to have options that other people simply won’t.

I lived every messy, backwards, figuring-it-out-the-hard-way step of it. & then I took all of it, simplified it, clarified it, & poured it into Simply Faceless.

A degree can cost tens or hundreds of thousands & take years before it pays off. A focused course teaches the same kind of transferable skill for a fraction of the price & time. Different tools for different goals, but the price gap doesn’t match the value gap people assume.

Can you really make money online with faceless digital products? Yes, & you don’t have to show your face or be an influencer to do it. It comes down to learning the same core skills any business needs: a clear vision, strong branding, knowing your audience, social media growth, sales, & automation. How much should an online course cost? There’s no single right number. What matters is the ratio of price to real, transferable outcome. A $300 course that teaches a complete income skill you keep for life can be far better value than a $30 one that leaves you exactly where you started. Judge it on the system & the outcome, not the sticker.

There’s a specific kind of quiet that lives between posting your content & making your first sale.

You’re showing up. You’re doing the things. You’re posting the reels & writing the captions & telling yourself to be patient. & yet the number in your account hasn’t moved, & a small voice keeps asking... is any of this actually going to work, or am I just talking to an empty room?

I lived in that quiet for longer than I’d like to admit. It’s the part of the journey nobody films, because it isn’t glamorous & it doesn’t make a good highlight reel. It’s just you, your phone, & a slow creeping doubt.

So before we get into the how, let me tell you the truest thing I know about first sales.

Your first sale is not a talent problem. It’s not an audience-size problem. & it’s almost never the thing you think it is.

Most women assume the first sale will simply arrive once they’re “big enough.” Once they have the followers, the aesthetic, the confidence, the perfect little funnel. So they wait. They tweak the bio for the ninth time. They redesign the logo. They tell themselves they’ll start selling properly once they feel ready.

& the sale never comes. Because the sale was never waiting on any of that.

Here’s what your first sale is actually waiting on: a clear offer, put in front of the right people, & you being brave enough to actually make it.

That’s the whole threshold. Three parts. & the reason it feels so enormous is that the third part asks the one thing the eldest-daughter, do-everything-perfectly part of us hates most. To be seen wanting something. To put a price on your work & say “this is worth it.” & to risk hearing a no.

That’s the real reason people freeze. Not strategy. Vulnerability. Selling something you made is you, quietly saying “I think this has value,” & then waiting to see if anyone agrees. Of course it feels exposing. It’s the most human thing in the world.

So let me take the mystery out of it.

You do not need thousands of followers to make your first sale. I’ve watched women make theirs with a few hundred. Sometimes fewer. Because a first sale doesn’t need a crowd. It needs one person who feels genuinely understood, & an easy way to say yes.

The block is rarely reach. It’s almost always one of these three, & I want you to sit with which one is yours:

• There’s no clear offer. Or it exists but it’s buried, or it’s not actually buyable in a couple of taps. You can’t sell a thing that isn’t finished, listed, & ready.

• The offer is never really made. It gets mentioned once, quietly, half-apologetically, & then hidden away for weeks out of fear. People can’t buy what they don’t know exists.

• The waiting-to-feel-ready loop. The one that never actually ends, because “ready” is not a feeling that shows up. It’s a decision you make while still a little scared.

Fix those three, & the first sale stops being a mystery & quietly becomes a matter of time.

Quick honesty, because you know I’ll always give it to you. I’m not promising you a sale by Friday, or a specific number, or that this lands the same way for everyone, because it doesn’t. What I earn & what you earn are two entirely different stories, & anyone handing you a guaranteed timeline is selling you a fantasy, not a business. What I CAN do is hand you the exact, unglamorous path that gets you to that first yes, & let you walk it at your own pace.

Rest was something you had to deserve first. Slowing down felt like falling behind. Pushing harder wasn’t a strategy for me, it was my entire personality.

So of course I built my business the exact way I’d built my whole life. On force.

& it nearly broke me.

There were stretches where I got genuinely close to collapsing. Not the cute “ugh I’m SO busy” kind of tired. The kind where your body finally starts sending the invoice for everything you’ve been overriding. & I kept going anyway, because in my head, stopping meant failing, & pushing through was the only tool I owned.

I want to be honest about that part, because the internet loves a tidy little success story, & mine wasn’t one. There were dark stretches. Days I quietly wondered if I’d made a terrible mistake. Days when the forcing felt like the only thing holding it all together... when really, it was the thing slowly taking me apart.

& here’s what nobody warns you about.

The forcing wasn’t even working.

That was the plot twist that undid me. I was doing everything “right,” everything harder, & the results still weren’t matching the effort. Then somewhere in one of those low points, a quiet, deeply inconvenient thought showed up & wouldn’t leave:

what if the pushing IS the problem?

So I did the terrifying thing. I started to let go 🫣

Not of the vision. Never the vision. I let go of the GRIP. The white-knuckling. The need to control exactly how, & exactly when.

I learned to regulate my nervous system, which, I’ll be honest, is a sentence I would have rolled my eyes at not long before. But it turned out to be the whole thing. I learned to notice when I was spiralling & actually stop instead of feeding it. I stopped opening my laptop before I’d even had a coffee or a single human moment. I started walking. Breathing on purpose. Letting my mornings be slow. Doing the work from a settled place instead of a frantic one.

& I practised, over & over, believing a sentence that felt like a total lie... until one day it just didn’t anymore:

I do. I can. & I will.

Not “I might, if I work hard enough.” Just... I will. I trust that I do, that I can, & that I will. It took a LOT of arguing with my own brain to get there, because old patterns really don’t leave quietly. But slowly, the trust started replacing the panic.

& then the strangest thing happened.

Things started working. More than they ever had when I was forcing them.

I’ve been doing this for over two years now, & I can tell you with my whole chest: most of my results have come from being aligned & regulated & doing things with EASE. From slowing down. Not from grinding harder. The frantic months rarely produced my best work. The calm, trusting ones did.

Which means the thing I’d believed my whole entire life, that my worth AND my results were both earned through exhaustion, was just... not true. Hustle culture sold us a lie. A really convincing, deeply expensive one.

I’m not going to pretend I’ve got it all perfectly figured out now. I still slip. It is SO easy to fall back into the old grooves, especially on a hard day, & sometimes I catch myself gripping all over again. But now I notice faster. I know how to come back. I tend to my energy & my thinking on purpose, because I’ve learned that the STATE I’m in is doing more for my business than any twelve-hour day ever did.

& here’s the part that surprised me most of all.

The regulation, the trust, the ease... it didn’t just change my business. It changed me. I’m a genuinely different woman now than the one who started this. She meets her life with so much more ease & abundance. She’s softer with herself. She’s not constantly, exhaustingly trying to prove she’s allowed to be here.

That, honestly, has been more life-changing than any number in any account. The money is wonderful, truly. But becoming someone who can actually receive it, hold it, & rest inside it? That’s the real thing. That’s the part I didn’t know I was signing up for.

So if you’re in the forcing phase right now, gripping the outcome so tightly your knuckles ache... consider this me gently uncurling your fingers.

You don’t have to earn your worth through exhaustion. You were never behind. & the vision you’re holding does not require you to break yourself to reach it.

Slow down. Regulate. Trust that you do, you can, & you will.

1. The Basics: what a “Faceless Business” actually is

Let’s get the foundations fixed, because I wasted months not understanding this.

A faceless business is simple. You build a brand around value & story instead of your face. You grow an audience with content, & you sell them digital products. That’s the whole machine. Three parts: brand, content, product.

“Faceless” doesn’t mean hidden or fake. It means the camera points at your hands, your screen, your coffee, your real life & your words, not your face. You become the voice & the guide, not the performer. For an introvert or a mum who doesn’t want her face all over the internet... it’s not the compromise. It’s the strategy.

A digital product is something you create ONCE & sell again & again. A guide, a template, a mini-course. No stock, no shipping, no running out. The margin is basically all profit, & it sells whether you’re awake, asleep, or doing the school run.

That’s the quiet superpower. You stop trading hours for money. You build the thing once, & your job becomes sending the right people to it.

(Where I started: $500 in a course that taught me digital marketing & how real online income actually works. That was the whole scary leap. I sat with the checkout open for embarrassingly long. I almost closed the tab. I’m so glad I didn’t.)

Part 0: Business or hobby? Decide before anything else

Most people skip this, & I think it’s exactly why most people quit.

Here’s what happens. Someone gets inspired, picks a topic they love, starts posting. Three months later they have 40 followers, no income, & a quiet feeling they’re doing it wrong. They’re not doing it wrong. They built the house before they drew the plan.

So, honestly: is this a hobby or a business?

Both are completely valid. But they need different things. A hobby is freedom, post when you feel like it, don’t stress the numbers. Genuinely lovely, & you can stop reading here.

A business needs a tiny bit of structure first. & it starts with ONE sentence:

“I help [these people] do [this thing], without [this frustration].”

Mine was: I help introverted women & mothers build income online without showing their face.

That sentence is the whole foundation. It decides what you post, who follows, & what they buy. Don’t post a single thing until you can say yours out loud.

Hint: if you can’t finish that sentence yet, you’re not behind, you’re just not ready to set up your page yet. Stay right here until you can. It’s the highest-value 20 minutes you’ll spend.

Part 1: Set up your Faceless Brand for trust

People buy from brands they trust, & trust starts before your first post. A few things to get right:

Your page is a promise, not a profile. Your bio shouldn’t be your life story. It should answer the only question a stranger is asking: “what’s in this for me?” Lead with who you help & what they get. You come second.

Tip: write your bio in second person first. “If you want [outcome] without [frustration], you’re in the right place.” Then add the warm human bit. The reader always comes before you do.

Keep your message consistent everywhere. Your bio, your pinned post, your content, your offer... say the same thing in the same words. People need to hear it more than once before they trust it. Consistency isn’t boring, it’s how trust is built.

You don’t need a perfect logo or palette to start. I over-designed my brand before I’d made a single sale & it was pure procrastination in a pretty outfit. Clarity sells. Design can catch up later.

Hint: the most common mistake I see is a different message in every place. Pick your one sentence & repeat it until you’re a little sick of it. That’s roughly when your audience is finally starting to hear it.

Part 2: What to post ( So you never face a blank screen)

The blank-page problem is actually a positioning problem. When your one sentence is clear, the ideas don’t stop.

Here’s the thing almost no one understands: not all content has the same job.

Growth content is built to REACH new people. Relatable, shareable, “oh my gosh that’s me.” Its job is to get you seen.

Trust content is built to convince the people who already found you. Teaching, proof, behind-the-scenes. Its job is to turn a stranger into a believer.

You need both, & you need to know which one you’re making when you make it. I posted growth content to fill the room & trust content to quietly sell to the room.

Organise it all around a few content pillars so you never sit staring at a blank screen. Mine were:

1. My story (the relatable, the journey)

2. What I’m learning (the teaching, the how-to)

3. Proof it works (results, behind-the-scenes, real)

4. The real life (the cosy, the human, the mum-at-nap-time)

Rotate those four forever & you’ll never run dry.

Tip: go into your DMs & comments right now. The questions people ask you again & again ARE your content calendar. Answer those publicly, one post at a time.

Tip: post formats that work without a face: text-on-screen reels over b-roll, “pick yours” carousels (which era are you in?), save-able how-to carousels (5 apps I use), & the honest behind-the-scenes. None of them need your face.

Your first 10 posts (steal this exact starter set)

Don’t start with whatever feels easiest. Start with what builds trust fastest. Here’s the exact running order I’d post, all faceless, no problem:

1. Your “why.” The moment you decided you wanted more than the default. (Relatable, not a CV.)

2. A gentle contrarian take. One thing in your world you see differently. Opinions attract, information bores.

3. A soft failure & what it taught you. Vulnerability builds loyalty faster than expertise ever will.

4. A “5 signs you’re meant for more” list. Save-able, shareable, speaks straight to her quiet feeling.

5. A simple how-to. Teach one tiny thing you actually know. You don’t need to know everything, just one step more than her.

6. Answer the question you get asked most. The DM you keep getting IS a post.

7. A behind-the-scenes of your real day. Hands, screen, coffee. The “this could be my life” feeling.

8. 3 myths about your thing. Myth-busting quietly positions you as the calm expert in the room.

9. A tiny win or a piece of proof. Real & yours only. No invented numbers, ever.

10. The “it’s not too late” post. Speak to the woman still hovering over “start.” She’s your person.

Tip: cross-link these as you go & pin your strongest one. New followers binge, so make the binge deep & easy to fall into.

Part 3: How to grow (reach without a face & without ads

I didn’t spend a penny on ads. Not because ads are evil, but because I didn’t have money to gamble & I didn’t want to. What I had instead was free: content & consistency.

Lean on reach content to get found. Reels & shareable carousels are how strangers meet you. The share mechanic (”send this to a woman who...”) is what carries you past your own little bubble.

Capture the people you reach. Reach is pointless if it evaporates. Offer one free thing people actually want, in exchange for a follow, an email, or a comment-to-DM keyword. That’s how a viewer becomes a lead you can actually nurture.

Consistency was the strategy. Not a hack, not a viral moment. Boring, repeatable, near-daily. The people who win at this aren’t the most talented, they’re the ones who didn’t stop at week three when it was quiet. & it will be quiet at first. That’s normal, not a sign to quit.

Tip: don’t chase viral. A viral spike brings a flood of the wrong people. Steady, consistent growth brings the right ones, the ones who actually buy & stay.

Hint: repurpose relentlessly. One idea can be a reel, a carousel, a story, & an email. You don’t need more ideas, you need to wring more out of the good ones.

Part 4: How to actually make money

This is the part you came for. Here’s the full machine, plainly.

Pick ONE offer. One. Not ten. A single digital product you create, or a proven one you can sell. Agonising over a huge suite is just fear wearing a productive costume.

Build the back-end loop. This is the part nobody screenshots, & it’s where the money actually lives:

A post brings them in → a free thing captures them → trust (your content & emails) convinces them → your product is sitting there, ready, when they decide.

That loop, running quietly on repeat, IS the business. It works while you sleep. That’s the dream they sell you, & it’s real, it’s just made of unglamorous parts.

Sell without being salesy. You don’t need fake countdowns or pressure. You teach, you prove it works, & you make the offer gently & often. Point to your offer in nearly every piece of content, softly. Most people are scared to mention their product even once. Mention it kindly, all the time. Nobody buys what they don’t know exists.

Tip for your own offers: the highest-converting structure I know is to give the WHY & the WHAT freely in your content, show some proof, & let the deep, do-it-with-me HOW be what your paid product delivers. Value builds the trust, & trust is what sells the rest.

That's the exact line I walk with my own work. This post is the free WHY & WHAT. The do-it-with-me HOW, in order, is Simply Faceless. More on that at the end, I won't interrupt the good stuff.

Then build the ladder. Once you have one offer converting, add the next rung. A freebie leads to a small product, which leads to the bigger one. Each buyer who trusts you is far more likely to buy again. Take care of them.

Tip on pricing: start lower than feels comfortable. A $20 to $40 first product gets people to say their first yes & become buyers, & one buyer is worth ten followers. You can always add a bigger offer later. The job of your first product isn’t to get rich, it’s to turn a follower into someone who’s bought from you once & is glad she did.

Part 5: The Mindset shifts that did the heavy lifting

Honestly? The money followed the mindset, not the other way round. These are the 11 habits that quietly changed everything for me, & not one of them was “hustle harder.”

Not overnight, I need to be clear about that. Just tiny, consistent choices that added up.

1. I decided before there was any evidence. “I can. I do. I will. No matter what, no matter how, no matter when.” I said it out loud, even when nothing around me agreed yet.

2. I talked to myself as the woman I want to become. She makes different choices, so I started making them now.

3. I took action before I felt ready. Spoiler: “ready” never really shows up. Move first, & let the confidence catch up.

4. I poured into my brain. A podcast on the walk, a book instead of the scroll. Your mind is the one asset nobody can touch.

5. I protected my mornings before anyone else could. No phone, no inbox. I set MY energy first... everything else met me after.

6. I cut the noise that pulled me into comparison. If it made me feel behind, it had to go. Comparison is just borrowed pressure.

7. I stopped letting draining people access my energy. Not everyone gets a front-row seat to your becoming.

8. I got honest about my money. No more avoiding my bank account. I looked at where it was actually going.

9. I gave myself space before spending. A little pause saved me more than any budget ever did.

10. I checked in with myself weekly. No shame, just awareness. “What worked, what didn’t, what’s next?”

11. I learned to live simply without feeling deprived. I stopped chasing a lifestyle & started building a life.

& a few shifts specific to the business itself, because they mattered just as much:

- From ”trade time for money” to ”build once, sell many.” This rewired everything.

- From ”I need to be an expert first” to ”learn one real skill, then use it in public.” You teach what you just learned. You’re not behind, you’re relatable.

- From ”I have to show my face to be trusted” to ”trust is built through value & consistency, not visibility.”

- From ”I need to go viral” to ”I need to be consistent.” Viral is luck. Consistent is a choice.

The things nobody tells you (read this before you go all in)

This post would be dishonest without this part. So here’s the unfiltered version, the wineglass-number-three truth.

It isn’t passive at the start. “Passive income” is real, but it’s passive at the END. The beginning is active, repetitive, & often quiet. You’re building the machine before it runs itself.

The silence is the hardest part. The first weeks of posting to almost no one will mess with your head. It’s not a sign it’s failing. It’s the part everyone goes through & nobody films.

Burnout is real, even doing what you love. I know it firsthand. Building this on top of real life will stretch you. Protect your energy like it’s part of the business, because it is.

It’s genuinely not for everyone. I don’t believe online business is right for every person, & I won’t pretend otherwise to make a sale. If you need fast, guaranteed money, this isn’t it. If you’re willing to learn a skill & be patient & consistent... then it might be exactly it.

The comparison trap will eat you alive if you let it. Someone will always look further ahead. They started earlier, or they’re showing you the highlight & hiding the silence. Run your own race.

Hint: the women who “started too late” are almost always the ones who never started at all. Late is a story. It’s rarely the truth.

If I were starting today from ZERO

Here’s the actual order I’d follow:

1. Learn the one skill. Invest in the thing that teaches you how online income really works. You can’t shortcut the learning, but you can shortcut years of guessing.

2. Write your one sentence. Who you help + what you help them with.

3. Set up your faceless page around that sentence. Simple, clear, no perfect logo required.

4. Choose one offer. One digital product, created or proven.

5. Post both kinds of content, growth & trust, consistently. Daily if you can. Boring is fine.

6. Build your list with one free thing people actually want.

7. Make the offer, gently & often, then repeat the whole loop.

It’s not a secret. It’s the order. & the order is the part people pay to stop guessing on.

One last thing

I know the overwhelm. I know the “everyone started before me” feeling. So here’s the truth I’d tell you over coffee: clueless is just the first chapter, not a verdict. I was clueless. The only thing that separated me from staying that way was deciding to learn one real skill & then actually using it.

It’s not too late. The space isn’t full. Your version of this hasn’t been done, because nobody else is you.

You don’t need to be extraordinary. You don’t need to show your face. You don’t need to already know how. You need a real method & the decision to begin.

Not the beginning, with the small talk & the how-are-yous & the careful version of how things are going. I mean about forty minutes in. Wine glass number three. The part where we’ve both softened, the guard has quietly dropped, & we start actually telling each other the truth.

That’s where I want to take you today 💭 No expert voice. No tidy lessons with a bow on top. Just the things I’d say if it were you & me, properly talking.

So. Let me start with the one almost nobody believes until they live it.

The thing that actually works is just… being a real woman.

Everyone TALKS about authenticity. Nobody really believes it translates. People still act like social media is a competition for the most perfect aesthetic, the most polished expert, the most curated little world. & I get it, I thought that too.

But here’s what I found out; The most magnetic thing you can possibly do is let your guard down & just be an ordinary woman. You’ll be shocked at what that attracts. So many people work SO hard to maintain the flawless-expert image, when the very thing that would make it all click is the thing they’re hiding… themselves.

Real is the strategy. Real was always the strategy. & honestly it’s the most freeing thing in the world, once you stop performing.

Let me talk about the money, because we’re three glasses in & I think we can.

Money is such a loaded thing, isn’t it. So many words & emotions tangled up in it. Shame, fear, guilt, this quiet sense that wanting it makes you a bad person.

I don’t believe that. I believe money in the hands of good people makes the world better, full stop. & I think it’s time we let go of this idea that money is somehow dirty or greedy to want. I want to help chip away at that taboo, because it keeps good women small.

I know it kept ME small for a while. I felt almost embarrassed to admit I was trying to “make it” online. Like it was silly, or a bit much, or something I should whisper. It took me a long time to realise I’m allowed to be proud of what I’ve built. & that I don’t actually need anyone’s approval for it. All I know is this: if life can get this good, I want it. & it makes me a little sad how many people stay so boxed in, so afraid to try something different, when the real risk of trying isn’t much of a risk at all. The thing you’d “lose” by attempting it? You were never really using it anyway.

Being faceless took a weight off I didn’t know I was carrying.

It removed so much of that pressure. The pressure to look a certain way, to be “on,” to perform a personality. The first time I posted & realised I never had to show my face to make this work, I felt this wave of actual RELIEF. Like I’d been let off a hook I didn’t even know I was hanging on.

& now… the part I’d only really tell you this far into our conversation

The burnout, & what it taught me.

I have learned more about myself through this than I ever expected to. I came in thinking it was a business. It turned out to be the biggest personal growth experience of my life.

At the start I was trying to control everything. Force the outcome. Work harder, do more, push push push, certain that effort was the lever & if I just gripped it tighter the results would come. & I got closer to burning out every single day. There were several times I came genuinely close to collapsing under it.

But those darkest stretches? I came out the other side of every one of them wiser. With a different mind entirely.

I learned to regulate my nervous system. I learned to let go of that frantic “do more, work harder” reflex. I learned to sit, & trust, & hold the vision, & believe the results will come… no matter how, no matter when. Because I trust that I do, I can, & I will. That sentence took me a LOT of practice & a lot of arguing with my own thoughts to actually believe. But I do now.

& I think it goes all the way back, honestly. My whole upbringing shaped me to believe I had to push harder to be worthy. That I always had to achieve to earn my place. This business, of all things, taught me the complete opposite, & it’s made me more fulfilled & more at peace than achieving ever did.

So now I’m very intentional. I tend to my nervous system on purpose. I watch my energy & my thinking & try to catch myself before I spiral, because it is SO easy to slip back into the old patterns, & I still do sometimes. I’m not going to pretend I’ve transcended it. But after more than two years in this space, here’s the truest thing I can tell you: most of my results have come from being aligned & regulated & doing things with ease. From slowing down. Not from pushing harder.

That, by itself, has been life-changing. Not just the wealth part. The woman I’ve become, the one who meets her life with so much more ease & abundance than she used to… that’s the real win.

Which brings me to the honest one. The reason this isn’t for everyone.

If you come into this thinking it’s a quick win, or you come in trying to white-knuckle the outcome into existence, you will be disappointed. I’m not saying that to be harsh. I’m saying it because I watch it happen.

I meet so many women who are so fixated on WHEN the results will come that they block themselves from ever getting there. They keep circling the same thought: “I’m doing everything right, so why isn’t it working?” They set goals they can’t actually control, & then they crumble when those goals don’t arrive on schedule. & the whole time, the real goal was to trust. To set goals you CAN control, & let the rest unfold.

This path asks you to surrender the very thing most of us were trained to cling to: control. Not everyone wants to do that work. & that’s okay. But it’s why I’ll never sell this as easy.

There’s a last piece I sit with too. There are a lot of accounts out there who throw dirt on the people quietly building real, sustainable businesses. It’s where a lot of the scepticism comes from. & sometimes, I’ll be honest, it gets to me. I catch myself feeling questioned about my own work, wondering if I should defend it.

But then I come back to why I’m here. Why I do this for women specifically. & I remember… I’m not selling anyone a dream. I’m serving. The second I land back on that, the noise just goes quiet.

So that’s the conversation. The real one. The forty-minutes-in, glass-number-three one.

I just wanted you to actually know me a little. The woman behind the faceless brand, the one who almost broke & rebuilt herself softer & stronger, who believes you can have a beautiful life AND keep your peace.

I never thought any of this was for me.

I’m an introvert. The kind who reads the “thinking of you” text for two days before replying. Social media felt like a party I was relieved I wasn’t invited to. Everyone seemed to be SO comfortable being seen, being on, being a personality, & I just… wasn’t. I assumed that meant the whole online income thing was for other people. Louder people. Cooler people. Braver people…. & Not me.

& for a long time I just believed that.

So instead I worked the jobs. The bill-paying, keeping me afloat, soul-quietly-leaking kind. I was good at them. I was also slowly disappearing inside them. There’s a specific kind of tired that comes from spending your one life making someone else’s numbers go up while your own bank account stayed exactly, depressingly flat.

Paycheck to paycheck isn’t just a money thing. It’s a hope thing. It’s waking up already doing math. It’s the way your shoulders sit.

I don’t fully remember the moment it cracked open. I think it was less a lightning bolt & more a slow, stubborn thought that wouldn’t leave:

What if I just… packaged what I already know?

I have a graphic design background. I knew how to make things look good & make them make sense. & it turned out the thing people actually wanted was for someone to take what was in their head & turn it into something they could hold. A PDF. A template. A clear next step.

& here is the part I still think about.

The thing everyone told me would hold me back, never showing my face, being too quiet, too behind-the-scenes, turned out to be the entire point.

Because what I learned, & it’s maybe the most useful thing I’ll say in this whole post:

Presence was never the same thing as visibility.

You don’t have to be SEEN to be felt. You don’t have to perform to be trusted. The women who built things that lasted weren’t the loudest in the room. They were the most consistent, the most useful, the most quietly themselves. It was never about effort for effort’s sake. It was about the right things, in the right order, done when you actually had the energy.

That reframe is the whole reason I’m not still standing behind a counter.

So who is this Substack actually for?

It’s for the woman who reads all of this & feels a small, annoying flicker of “…could I?” & then immediately talks herself out of it.

It’s for the introverts. The mothers building something in the cracks of the day. The ones who are exhausted by the idea of being a brand, a personality, an always-on content machine. The ones who quietly suspect there’s a slower, softer, smarter way to build income & have just never seen anyone actually do it.
