1. Tony Bianco Libby Loafers

It goes without saying (one hopes) that no closet is complete without a trusty black loafer. And that’s all the more reason you need one that is ‘ol reliable— my go-to has become the Libby loafer from Tony Bianco.

Timeless but not stuffy in design. We are talking the The Row and Saint Laurent style, for a fraction of the price. Not to mention, they’re butter soft, and I’ve done the leg work many times over to confirm they’re 10k steps-approved. I LOVE them. I have never gotten a blister in these, not once.

I recommend sizing down half a size in all Tony Bianco shoes (I have three pairs).

2. Glass Nail File from Londontown

You all know I am a naked nail girl (chic) seen in vol 1., and I can tell you I've done the boots on the ground journalism to confirm a glass nail file is the beauty equivalent of realizing good olive oil actually tastes better.

It seems unnecessarily specific until you own one. Then every emery board feels like you’re sanding a piece of furniture. Especially if you care for your nails yourself, definitively consider this worth the $12.

For other nail favorites, I am still and forever using Manucurist Active set, and have recently added this Celisse polish and cuticle serum into rotation.

3. Camp Snap Video Camera

I swear this is the closest one can come to preserving our lives in the most authentic sense. The home video nostalgia is alive and well, honey.

It wasn’t until I watched back some of the footage we’d collected that I realized my favorite clips aren’t the milestones but rather the completely ordinary moments I never would’ve thought to capture on my phone.

And I think the actual trick is how incredibly easy/convenient it is to use. You pick up for thirty seconds because your baby is doing something funny, to quickly bench mark the day while you’re rolling around on the floor, or toss in your bag without a second thought. That convenience is exactly why it captures life as it’s actually happening.

4. Liffner Bag

In particular the Pushlock clutch or the Belted Bucket bag. Both of which I own, and get a ton of use out of.

The former is truly a do-it-all kind of accessory, tiny but mighty (comme moi). Dress up a pair of jeans or she serves you as a full-on evening bag. I have the chestnut croc and really love the black calf hair. Every single one is a neutral! Very Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, in that way.

The bucket bag is what I beg my community to swap in for their typical tote. The shape is so much more interesting, it holds your laptop comfortably, and makes a jeans-and-a-sweater look, look more polished.

If you’re looking for an affordable luxury bag (similarly to my other favorite from Savette), Liffner bags have the quiet confidence of brands that cost three times as much. I just think she’s cool!

P.s. I [obviously] can’t stop thinking about the denim blue suede in the larger size push lock.

5. An [Extremely] Oversized Scrunchie

Now, I know what you may be thinking, but hear me out. As a self-proclaimed haircare aficionado and Girl With Good Hair™ (and born and bred New Yorker, ahem), I do think a capaciously oversized scrunchie is key.

My reasons? Because they’re fun. They’re soft, they don’t rip out your precious hair, and they can, in fact, be fashion.

They are each $11. I have and love the white and beige for daily wear, and the black satin is fancy sister. Lots of colors to choose from!

6. Kate 3mm in Moissanite

If you don’t own a tennis bracelet yet [and want to], I’d start here. In short, the tennis bracelet is basically the ultimate buy once, wear forever piece.

I never take mine off—I have a diamond one I was gifted from my in-laws before our wedding, and Dorsey’s Kate in the newer Moissanite option, which keeps its shine better than gemstones, in my opinion.

This one is pretty straight forward — simply, if you’re in the market for, and want the perfect marriage of quality for price point, this is the one.

7. A Great Denim Jacket (link to my collection!)

Maybe I’m partial because I am a denim girl through and through— a true believer that nothing is quite as good as a good denim, and that extends far and wife from jeans to jackets. And don’t get me started on the Canadian tux of it all.

When in doubt, all denim (and all black) will never fail you for an effortlessly polished look. It is also one of the few pieces that genuinely works twelve months a year.

8. Beads! Bracelet and necklaces.

I formally declared beads very important to me months ago, and these have made the top of my list. First is this bracelet from Vertigo which I have in India. I was very torn between that and Riverstone (code oli15 works site wide including the Vertigo bead bracelet). And BaubleBar makes a very convincing argument for the look at a much less emotionally involved price point. I have a bunch of colors (above).

9. Custom Bath Towels

I was sent these and they are, shadily, such a vibe. Now that I have them I’m like… obviously mama’s king has his own monogrammed Solomon towels.

But beyond the unnecessary luxury, they’re really nice. 100% cotton, thick, soft.

I’ve since gifted them to two friends with their babies names, which is perhaps the strongest endorsement I can give. They make such a good gift because they’re personal without requiring you to know someone’s exact taste, and nice enough that you’d probably never think to buy them for yourself. Which, incidentally, is my favorite category of gift.

10. A Bedside Catchall

Bedside catchall evangelist. Earrings, rings, AirPods, lip balm, oversized scrunchie—all the tiny debris of being a woman needs somewhere to live.

Technically any little dish will do, but I’m a firm believer that the things sitting out in your home should be nice to look at. Very little effort, extremely high chic-to-square-inch ratio.

I walked into Chanel the other week, partly to make sure they wouldn’t try to tell me I needed an appointment, and in smaller part to see if perhaps something in there could make me feel something.

I’m happy to report both things happened.

A metallic Kelly Top Handle tempted me (below). I’ve been fixated on some version of a metallic (or gold, even sequin) bag for well over a year now, but have yet to find the one. This one felt... warmer.

Not quite compelled enough to spend those kind of shekels (and to be fair, we’ll be in Italy soon, so I’m responsibly waiting to see if anything finds me there ), I’m waiting for the piece that I cannot leave without. Though also needless to say, I’ve have been more than intrigued and keeping my finger on the pulse of everything Matthieu Blazy has been doing since being named creative director.

To cure my own affliction, I did what any reasonable person would do and spent two hours on The RealReal.

A secondhand slay if there ever was one—

A Chanel Cerf Tote I ordered in January. She's in absolutely unbelievable condition, and I snagged her for under $2,000. Comparable Cerf Totes in this condition are now selling for roughly double that on the secondhand market. Not that I bought her with resale in mind, but it's always fun to watch a purchase appreciate.

So here are five things I’d happily spend my money on again. A mix of luxury, self-care, and a little bit of my heart.

1. Shon Jeans

I’m generally either in a $60 pair of straight leg Levi’s... or these.

There is something Nili understands about dressing women that I rarely see from other designers. Effortless is truly the name of her game. The exaggerated leg makes every outfit feel more intentional, the denim is unbelievably comfortable, and they drape in a way that makes getting dressed feel easy. Love the cream for summer (and I can’t wait to wear my cord pair this Fall).

They’re undeniably not cheap but mine have long since paid for themselves in cost per wear. Size down one size!

2. Bottega Veneta Bags

You know how I feel about taking out a small business loan for a handbag. But if you’re going to invest in one, I’d much rather see you buy a beautiful bag you’ll carry for the next decade than a trendy one you’ll resell in a year for a [small] fraction of what you paid for it.

I’m a Bottega girl through and through. The craftsmanship is genuinely second to none, the branding is understated, and the designs feel timeless rather than trend-driven or tied to a specific season. And ~many of their bags are still made by a single atelier from start to finish (where specialists typically spend upwards of five years learning the intrecciato technique), a handful of those leather pieces which come with a lifetime warranty.

When I’m spending serious money on a bag, I almost always start—and usually end—with Bottega. Latest love pictured above; the cloudy indigo is also out now in the large Campana if you need that bigger-everyday-bag, and I have been straddling between the Madison (the hardware!) in Ecru and the giorno (the suede! the color…) in green tweed for this Fall.

3. Monthly Facials

Ironically, this isn’t really about my skin.

Of course I appreciate the cosmetic benefits, but what I’m really paying for is the ritual. Once a month, I get to lie still for an hour, completely unplug, and remind myself that I’m worth taking care of, too.

I exercise, eat well, spend a lot of time outside—but nothing quite compares to walking out of a facial feeling like a little treat. To me, it’s maintenance more than a splurge.

4. Workout Membership

Say it with me: the best workout is the one you’ll actually do.

For the first eleven months after having Solomon, I worked out completely exclusively from home. I’m incredibly grateful for the program that’s carried me through pregnancy and postpartum, and I’ll absolutely continue doing it.

But recently, and thanks to finally having part-time childcare, I rejoined class pass and have been in studio about once a week. I forgot how good it feels to simply show up. Having an instructor coach you, correct your form, and guide you through forty minutes where all you have to think about is the movement you’re in is such a gift.

Hopefully you needn’t be convinced to invest in your health— you deserve it! I promise.

5. Canon g7x Mark iii

I've had a camera in my hand since middle school (shoutout PictureTrail, MySpace, and the fake Facebook accounts we all made before we were actually old enough to have one).

Yes, the image quality is incredible. It captures a softness and depth that phones still struggle to recreate, and it's small enough that I never think twice about bringing it with me. I've owned the big DSLR bodies and giant lenses before, and they're wonderful—but they simply don't leave the house nearly as often.

But the real reason I’d buy it again has nothing to do with content creation.

Some of my favorite memories are sitting in my grandparents’ living room flipping through photo albums I’d already seen a hundred times. My dream is for my babies (and their babies! BH) to have that, too. I want them to be able to look back at the holidays and traditions, summers at the beach and vacations all over, ordinary days, and listen to the stories and memories that accompany them.

I carry this camera almost everywhere. In fact, I recently dropped mine and had to send it to Canon for repair. The process was incredibly seamless—I had it back within a week—but I genuinely felt like I was missing a limb while it was gone.

That’s probably the highest endorsement I can give anything on this list.

*Note to say this camera is often sold out on Canon’s site (and wildly jacked up in price by resellers, but available if you can’t wait)— just set a notification. In my experience it restocks every several weeks.

The packing mistake isn’t bringing too much—it’s bringing pieces that only work with one outfit.

With the exception of what I call an Everything Outfit™—that special dress or two, that statement look you’ve already mentally photographed before you’ve even booked the trip—every piece in my suitcase has to earn its place. We’re talking pulling double (or triple) duty. It needs to work at the beach, buggy-ing town and grabbing lunch, and heading to dinner. Ideally more than once.

I love a perfectly styled vacation look as much as anyone, but I’d rather pack smarter than pack more. Trust this formula gives you the effortless, chic vacation wardrobe you’re after without dragging half your closet across Europe or spending day seven wondering why you packed seven extra (“just in case”) tops you’ll never wear.

A little more detail on the hero pieces.

The trick to packing lighter isn't bringing fewer clothes—it's bringing harder-working ones. Think of your suitcase in terms of hero pieces:

• a linen button-down that works as a beach cover-up, over shorts, or tied for dinner

• a scarf that triples as a sarong, head scarf, and top

• a leather sandal that can take you from morning coffee to the beach and through the day; another flat (comfortable) but more special pair can and should fit this purpose, too

• a simple satin short that instantly elevates or, the right wash of denim that quietly compliments everything from a swimsuit to a linen shirt; and a neutral one piece or bikini (animal print is a neutral!) that doubles as a top under an open button-down.

When every piece can do at least three jobs, your suitcase will suddenly feel a lot bigger (and your instinct to shop and pack excessively, dulled).

Consider this a small sampling of the combinations I'll actually be packing for an upcoming trip (Sardinia in August! more to come!).

The beauty of the formula isn't how many pieces you bring—it's how many outfits those pieces can create.

Pro tip: make sure the shoes you’re packing are actually comfortable. Europe can often mean either long days on your feet, or cobblestones, or both— and no outfit is worth limping home for. Even if it’s just from dinner.

I’m [currently outfit planning for a trip to Sardinia in August and] bringing the Inez’s Isa in Cognac for this trip. I actually own four pairs of their shoes (yes, four)—boots and heels alike—because they’re legitimately some of the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever owned. This is a newer style I picked up for summer, and the cognac works with just about everything in my suitcase, big formula hero (and the leather is butter). 1. Glowy silky SPF 30 primer

In the year 2026 we understand you should not exit your home without sunscreen on your face. One might go as far to say if your desk is positioned up against a window even, you ought to screen up before ripping into your email. Botox might fix wrinkles, but it can’t help precancerous sun spots. Not trying to scare you, you should be wearing SPF daily!

I was gifted this from the brand originally, and have since re-upped and gifted it to two people. It’s silky— one of those products that you enjoy the experience of applying as much as the result of its use. As someone who is truly inundated in gifted products, I can wholeheartedly say she is the one.

2. Very important half-zip from Varley.

At a 5 star rating with 500 reviews you don’t have to take my word for it (but you still should)— this half-zip high neck sweatshirt has been on my body weekly. I selected it as part of a partnership with Varley but I could not have predicted it would become one of those comfies in my closet that becomes a go-to, obsession, emotional support sweatshirt, type of piece. I am treating myself to another, torn between mallard blue and grey (it comes in a ton of colors, pictured above) and donating an old sweatshirt. I also was gifted the matching short which is equally delicious material wise, but I’ve not had the chance to wear much since it’s erratic weather in New York. A great set option! Matching pant avail, too. Take your true size.

3. AN AMAZING BAG THAT DOESN’T COST $5,000

It’s always refreshing to find a bag that scratches the luxury itch without requiring a small business loan. A purchase that every time I carry it (and for context, it’s one of my most worn bags of the last 10 months— I am absolutely jonesing for another one), I feel extremely pleased with myself for buying.

Chic. Absolutely timeless. Works equally well with denim, evening wear or a linen pant. And the hardware is so good— simple but interesting. I love the stitching detail on mine (bone leather). A forever bag. I am simply obsessed with her! If you’ve been eyeing a Savette bag, you have good taste, and you’ve got your eye on the right one.

4. Shon Jean

I think Nili Lotan really understands clothes that make you feel cool without trying too hard. These are the jeans I grab when I want to look like I have taste but don’t necessarily want to suffer for it. The shape makes an outfit feel more interesting (these jeans are the outfit), and not in a LoOk aT mY FaShIon JeaNs sort of way. My life is mostly lived in jeans and a tee (and then accessorized) and these have definitely been one of my most reached-for pairs. And they’re VERY comfortable! So no excuses, throw these on instead of leggings to run your errands. Just do it. Thank me later! I recommend sizing down. Cream wash for the summer!

5. T3 Ceramic Air Styler

As a [former] die-hard Dyson girl (notably mentioned in vol. 1 of this series), I could have never seen this plot twist coming. But alas. This hair tool has single-handedly improved my quality of life. Not only has it cut my blowout time in half (that’s correct, 3C curls done in literally 10 minutes), I also now live without the emotional turmoil of two arms working to blow out my hair. Faster, easier, less damage. I use the brush attachment though it comes with the regular blow dryer attachment— so to say, it’s literally a Dyson PLUS styler— as well as curling/styling attachments. She’s that bitch.

Also there is something about the voltage yada yada it’s great for traveling abroad!

6. Janessa Leone Hat

One thing about me: I love a hat. My collection is expansive. From felt wide brims, to straw sunhat to pillbox (felt and woven) to baseball to cotton bucket to cowhide western, I have them all. Which hopefully paints the picture of just how good these hats are. I own three of them— the Felix is a chic, modern take on a classic bucket hat; the Sherman leans towards a fedora that really feels intentional even when you throw it on with a tank and jeans (my favorite way to wear it, honestly— see below), and my most recent addition the Sacha, which I cannot wait to style this summer. Janessa Leone somehow nails that elevated, effortless shape every single time. When it comes to summer and vacations it’s an absolute must (a lot of them are packable!). This is your sign to finally get yourself a nice hat this summer.

7. Sleep Crown Pillow

Honestly, I don’t fully understand the witchcraft behind this pillow, but I do know I cannot sleep without it anymore. I originally received it as a gift and almost gave it away — which in hindsight would have been one of the great personal mistakes of my lifetime. I brought it to the hospital when I gave birth to my son…

It’s advertised as an “over-the-head relaxation pillow that softly contours around your face, blocks light, muffles noise, and somehow immediately makes your entire nervous system exhale”. To me, it’s become a full-blown emotional support pillow. It’s just so soft and so delicious— I really wish words could convey the seriousness of how much I love and need this pillow but you’ll just have to find out for yourself.

Worth mentioning it sells out every week and I believe restocks on Tuesday mornings.

8. Custom Paracord Key Chain/Rope Charm from Etsy

Every time I post this it inevitably sells like crazy which confirms to me I’m not imagining the subtle charm of this key chain. It’s truly… Just a key chain. I found it on Etsy last Fall, ordered it with my son’s initials, and it sparks such an irrational amount of joy. But clearly I’m not alone! Because every time I post it, it sells like crazy. Probably the low commitment thrill; the perfect little treat yo self. It also makes a thoughtful little gift. 10/10 functionality when it comes to digging through your bag for your keys should you use them for that. Functional, cute, oddly life-enhancing.

Honorable mention for this DIY version from Baublebar that has big chunky letters that I love.

9. Pearl Phone Chain from J.Crew

At the time this goes live, she’s on sale too! Part accessory, part utility, fully chic. It really does make your phone feel less like a depressing technological necessity and more like a chic part of your existence. I’ve loved the Ossa chains for a while and this pearl chain was the perfect gateway drug (and I love pearls, especially in this season). I was influenced by Steph Covington on this last year and similarly to the keychain, the cost to serotonin boost ratio of this tiny accessory has me making money. Also deeply practical for someone constantly juggling coffee, bags, baby, etc.

10. Battery Charging Pack

Anxiety prevention device, actually. I do not leave the house for an evening out (or honestly, a stroller walk and errand run,) without this. Slim enough to actually carry around yet powerful enough to save you from the particular horror of your phone dying mid-day in Manhattan (or wherever). Also sleek and chic if you opt for the matching case, like I did. One of those purchases that immediately becomes indispensable.

TLDR: I had my son 8 months ago, worked in full time corporate roles since graduating college (100 years ago) thru maternity leave, and am now a full time content creator and stay at home mom. It’s my first time writing those words, “stay at home mom”, it’s very interesting. Having children and being a mother has always been my dream; I can confidently say having and parenting my son is the greatest joy and most profound accomplishment of my life. I now deeply understand the under appreciated role of the stay at home mother, but that’s a topic for another time. For now, let’s stay on the straight line.

My thoughts feel so scattered, I’m bracketing to try and make sense of my own feelings.

Time.

I know time never belonged to me, or any of us, but now it escapes through my fingers like sand. The sun breaks on a new day and with what feels like one blink, I come to and I’m sitting on the couch, my son is down for the night, my husband and I ate dinner (probably watching something on TV to numb our minds of the day), and I think the thought I have every single night,

“What did I get done today? Did I accomplish anything?”

And that really is the only time I have. When the day is done and dusted, and by that point, I’m completely depleted. Emotionally, physically and spiritually burnt the fuck out.

I understand fleeting time is a universal feeling, but I can’t really explain how rapidly it seems to escape me, now. I weep for the seconds that fly by and am constantly telling myself, “remember this moment, remember this exact noise he is making!”, while simultaneously long for freedom to return to myself. And then feel guilt for the latter.

Jealousy.

I feel jealous. I see “counterparts” who appear to be out and about, moving through their days taking part in appointments, tasks, errands, whatever it may be—clearly childless endeavors. As in, someone else is watching their baby, their infant or toddler. I’m not jealous they have a nanny (in fact, I’m currently looking for one myself for two days a week), I am jealous they are able to leave their baby with someone else. I envy their trust. I envy their ability to remove themselves.

I have a friend, who has two older daughters, tell me recently that as soon as I have help I will feel differently and it’s just a matter of ripping the bandaid off. I believe her wholeheartedly. So I look forward to finding that help, because I know how I feel now is not good. I mean, it’s fine, but it’s a lot.

Comparison.

What a shameful feeling, no? When I catch myself comparing myself to others, those whose lives truly could not be more different, I’m not only disappointed in myself for it, but I actually feel embarrassed? It feels very… Losery. I don’t know how else to explain it.

You had nothing keeping you from going to opportunity after opportunity, now you carefully cherry pick what is worth not only not putting your son to bed for, but the equally exhaustive task of childcare. I’m lucky to have both my mom and MIL live nearby and eager to watch their grandchild, but they’re not a paid nanny and I can’t expect them to drop everything at a whim so I can pop into the city for an hour or two (though I know they would— not the point).

I digress. I think what I am trying to convey is I find myself playing the comparison game in many ways.

I compare myself to the moms who are able to be away from their children. To the moms who don’t have childcare and are fine(?) with the little individuality I feel it allows me. To literal teeny boppers… who are grabbing their creator careers by the balls and have zero responsibility. I compare myself to an old version of myself— she is literally DEAD and here I am quietly thinking about what could have been.

Anyway. This has felt really scattered (not me beating myself up for the lack of journalistic rhythmic clarity of this literal diary entry). But therapeutic. A real departure from what I normally write about but thankful I had the guts to hit publish. I can’t be alone?

Last Fall I had an a-ha moment—and it wasn’t until I was (attempting) to dress my newly postpartum body that I realized my taste had shifted. Not a full transformation, but a noticeable zhuzh. After the birth of my son at the end of the summer, I found myself gravitating toward pieces that felt more polished and refined than what I’d reached for in the past—cleaner lines, better fabrics, simpler silhouettes. Nothing trendier, just sharper.

As I continue to emerge from the postpartum bubble, that instinct feels even stronger. I’m completely hooked on editing (and filling gaps as needed, of course). I’m drawn to pieces that don’t require much styling to feel complete—items that repeat easily and make my closet feel cohesive rather than constantly rotating.

For Spring, I’m leaning into what’s already in my closet while adding pieces that offer the same versatility across occasions and seasons—items that work together naturally and make getting dressed feel less like work and more like I’ve hit my stride.

What made it compelling wasn’t perfection, it was certainty. She dressed like someone who already knew who she was, and people noticed because of it.

Her appeal ultimately came from that normalcy — the quiet ease of someone comfortable in her choices.

After years of hyper-curated fashion, that restraint feels refreshingly radical. This isn’t nostalgia. It’s relief.

Probably the easiest CBK outfit to replicate: black top, mid-rise straight denim, minimal shoe, classic sunglasses, leather bag.

Essentially a uniform. Nothing in the look is trying to be interesting — which is exactly why the whole thing is.

A nod to how she dressed when she needed to look polished — not different, just more tailored. Often one color family, letting cut and fabric do the work. No statement pieces, no visible trend markers.

The consistency is the point. Every look feels composed because nothing competes for attention.

I really love the YSL Lipshines, by the way. Stain that lasts and moisturizing factor make it unbeatable— I have a brighter red, 210, that I love and just ordered this shade for myself, as well.

Your classic coat-is-the-outfit formula (a personal favorite of mine). Underneath is the same set of standard pieces, but the length and structure — and occasionally a print or strong collar — makes it feel intentional.

My biggest personal takeaway: no athleisure sets, no performance wear — just practical pieces worn like regular clothes. Even casual still looked adult because the colors stayed neutral and the shapes stayed clean.

She relied heavily on contrast: light clothing with darker accessories. The crisp button-down provides structure, while the relaxed trousers keep it effortless. The outfit reads dressed without looking styled.

In a moment obsessed with styling, her legacy is simply getting dressed.

Gucci! Bamboo! Leather! The vintage is vintage-ing. Something about white leather has really captivated me lately, and I haven’t seen anything “new” that I like nearly as much as I love this. Price point is silly part 2!

Bottega is art. The craftsmanship is unbeatable and, in my personal opinion, even with Matthieu Blazy’s departure, she is still the moment. A perfect clutch for special occasions and vacations at a steep secondhand discount.

No notes! No explanation! To me, she is number one. This left my jaw on the floor, and I’m unclear how she is even available. Spectacularly special. True heirloom energy.

I just love clutches and I love different. It’s the magic of shopping secondhand—finding something that echoes the trends you’re gravitating toward today but that has already stood the test of time. I love her.

To me—this is the pinnacle of vintage power. Suede has seemingly infiltrated every bag option as the premium leather of choice, so check, check! But this bag has personality, interest, it’s different but classic. All a delightful surprise from an otherwise minimalist fashion designer (Halston). 1970s chef’s kiss!

Gucci Bamboo Bar Crossbody ($995)
Just a beautiful bag. Unique color and style. Quiet luxury before quiet luxury was a trend. It’s structured, polished—easiest way to upgrade an outfit with one piece.

Suede? Chanel? Under $1k? I’m as confused as you are!

Toteme Croc Embossed Clutch ($585)
For good measure. This reminds me of my Nili Lotan clutch (that I can’t stop talking about, which is already so reasonably priced) for less than half the price. A classic and chic bag, she had to make the cut. Bonus points for croc effect!

A timeless shape with just enough presence. These feel like a strong long-term accessory—though I’ll need to see them on. You’ll recall I’ve worn my Khaite x Oliver Peoples 1998C (from 10 Items I’d Buy 10 Times Over Vol. 1) into the ground and fully plan to keep doing so, but I like the idea of an alternative that isn’t a metal frame. I have the Prada 49MM, and this feels like a smart refresh.

A reminder that great style doesn’t have to come from major fashion houses—and so often is label-less. The shape, the size, the slouch that will come with good wear… she’s beautiful.

Woven Leather Ballerina Flats ($1,150)
Chic, comfortable, and quietly hardworking in a wardrobe. I tried them on and can confirm they’re perfect. It’s not a matter of if, but when.

Shearling Lined Leather Coat ($3,590)
A true forever coat. This masterpiece has had me in a chokehold since I first saw it; structured enough to elevate anything, relaxed enough to wear daily. The kind of piece you buy once and build outfits around for years.

My birthday is in February and I think she might be the one.

You’ll see plenty of repeat offenders. I’m nothing if not consistent when it comes to recommending the pieces I actually wear and love. If it feels like you’re seeing the same items from me again and again, that’s intentional. Once you find tried-and-true pieces, there’s no need to reinvent the wheel. I’ve really refined my closet down to staples that I then have fun styling with coats, accessories, and special pieces—and I’m not here to sell you something new every day. Just something old every day (lol).

Three for one! This chunky knit sweater that I got for Jake and myself. Donned with a handful of recent repeat pieces— straight leg jean in a perfect medium wash (if you’ve been on the hunt for the happy marriage between a relaxed and straight leg fit, look no further); this two tone ring set from Jenny Bird (below)… Sold out on their site for a couple months now but some sizes and stock here.

I’ve now worn this vest three times in the first week since it arrived, pairing it with different white shirts to create similar—but slightly different—looks. (All of the white tops are also heavily rotated, too.) The first top, with the bell sleeve, I bought about three years ago, and little ol’ me back then would be quite pinched to know I now have a discount code for the brand—and the top in two other colors (code oli15)! The middle shirt is so good it’s barely in stock. And the third top is the beautiful marriage of a mock neck and a white button-down—my two kryptonites.

Wore this for dinner and a show. I built the outfit around the belt.

The ever present tinted lip balm that I would buy 10x over; I am very, very into my new portable charger; and her.

I’m having a personal mock next renaissance and this is the one I’ve been reaching for at home, on casual days where my goals are workouts and running errands. I have it in two colors!

The straight leg jean I mentioned at the top of this post (they’re AGOLDE by the way, the cut is called the Lana) from the back! I just love them. Comes in four washes.

Both the sweater and white tee (once more, she repeats herself) are from the same brand and worn at minimum once a week. I sized up in the white tee because of my breastfeeding knockers, but also for a slightly more oversized fit. Code olis15.

1. Ruti on the loose pant.

Starting strong with the pant that actually does it all. If you have one takeaway, let it be these light weight and no wrinkle baddies that I have regrettably made my personality of late, but sue me— these both fit and flatter in an insane way; ultra-comfortable, endlessly versatile, and built around the most flattering silhouette—a tapered leg with an ankle-length cut.

I’m wearing them for travel when I want to be comfortable but look put together, swapping them for the daily legging and feeling more polished, and absolutely styling them with a nice sweater or blazer for dinner and day plans, and not sacrificing comfort for style.

2. Moissanite studs.

What does one need to say here? These sell themselves. They’re the perfect everyday earring, and perhaps most importantly, at the right price. I have not taken them off since I got them. Very sparkly (much moreso than the white lab grown gemstones, in my experience). I wear the 1.5 carats!

3. Moisturizer that you actually want to use.

While I take great care of myself, in certain respects, my downfall is laziness. This has never been truer for moisturizing my body. For a plethora of reasons, I’ve never really committed (even while acutely aware of how important supple, unwrinkled knees, arms, chest and a neck are to me, and future me). I’ve realized the real deterrent has always been the sticky residue most moisturizers leave behind after you’re freshly clean.

Then I was gifted this moisturizer from Uni and I’ve since reordered and gone through several bottles. The body serum is light weight, absorbs immediately and actually leaves zero greasiness. And the scent is insane (I don’t know how to explain it other than insane— I’m obsessed with it).

4. Your go-to white t-shirt.

For too many years, I searched for the deceptively difficult item to find, the perfect white t-shirt. Ever elusive, the one that hangs just right on your body, relaxed but not sloppy, opaque enough to wear braless should it please me, and a touch of boxiness yet not stiff.

I’m thrilled to report I’ve confirmed two that every closet needs. The first from SoldoutNYC (code olisus15); a touch more structured and boxy in the best way, making it the one I reach for when I want a white tee that holds its shape and instantly looks styled. I reach for her when styling under a sweater, specifically. The second from Perfect White Tee; softer, drapier option, ideal for days you want a white tee that feels broken-in from first wear. I throw this on every other day in the summer.

5. Tinted lip balm.

Chapped girls rejoice! Everything the video text says. I’ve done extensive legwork on tinted glosses, balms, full tints — everything under the sun — and while I have a few I like, this is the first one that truly feels like a balm (moisturizing, first and foremost) yet has unreal color. My shade here (and my favorite) is framboise raspberry!

6. Holy grail jeans.

There are a few jeans in the hopper for this series, but I’d be remiss not to start with the pair that’s dominated my wardrobe for the last ~2 years: the Levi’s 501 90s*. First and foremost— if you’re going to do denim, do real denim. They have that classic, structured Levi’s feel that hugs your ass in all the right places, but “just the right amount of bagginess through the leg”. They truly feel like that vintage pair you’d scour through endless racks to find.

I own them in three washes, Ecru, Black and Medium wash. Ecru is by far my most worn, though I have big plans for Medium Wash. Levi’s often runs sales, but for under $100 at full retail (why I have them in multiple washes), it really makes you wonder why we ever spend more on jeans.

*At time of publication, the medium wash (it’s the perfect all-American blue jean wash), is 50% off.

7. Barefaced Toning Pads

There’s a reason they’ve sold over 500k units and have over 4,000 5-star reviews. I started using the Barefaced toning pads summer 2023 when I was dealing with painful cystic acne along my jawline and chin— something I’d battled before and spent a lot of money trying to fix. I swear these have changed my skin. Knock on wood I haven’t dealt with the cystic acne I’d find myself with every couple of months for years since using them. I use them every night without fail and always have the travel packs stocked in my toiletry bag.

Gentle exfoliation with immediate glow, my skin just behaves when I use them consistently. Effective without being aggressive is the key here. Major bonus points that they’re pregnancy safe; I was able to use them throughout my entire pregnancy.

8. An elite workout mat.

The days of rolled workout mats are long gone, no? To be honest, I’ve been using my stakt mat (pro) for so long that I’ve sort of forgotten that was even a life some of you may be leading. But carry on like this, no more. Especially if you’re someone who primarily exercises at home, it’s a must-have. It doubles as a block for added padding, think: folded under hands for a plank series, extra cushion under your knees for bird-dogs. And it’s fast! Wholeheartedly, the experience is 11/10. I started with the stakt mat original and it’s great, but I have since leveled up and do recommend the pro. Either way, stop rolling your mat.

9. Ludo sandal

I’m running these leather Ludo sandals into the ground. Til’ the wheels fall off. I bought these two summers ago and they’re not only standing the test of time quality wise, but also style wise— they’re exactly the sandal I’m reaching for, forevermore. Minimal, clean lines, casual yet elevated enough to go from the beach, to a pool party, to dinner, as one does. I love that they don’t scream for attention but still complete an outfit. Easy, understated, very me.

10. A perfect pouch.

This bag. A true 11/10. I treated myself to this clutch in September— it had been some time since I bought a new bag, and I wanted something versatile enough to wear both day and night but classically chic, effortless in both shape and wear. I quickly realized I had zero interest in spending upwards of $5,000, which somehow feels like the entry-level price for designer bags in 2025. I was pleasantly surprised to come across this absolute icon: a croc-embossed leather clutch from Nili Lotan (of course), which rang in at one fifth the price. The milage I’ve already gotten out of this bag and the painfully reasonable price have made the satisfaction of this purchase sweet like suga. I would most certainly buy 10 times over.

the crib. I knew I wanted warm wood tones to anchor the whole space—timeless, a little boyish, and deeply homey. I had already fallen for the crib before working with Dana, and she wove it in effortlessly. It transitions from a bassinet on wheels to a crib and, later, a toddler bed.

the changing area. Functional, but still soft. I never would’ve picked this deep green changing table (I’d have gone overboard with wood again, methinks)—thank you, Dana.

the prints. Each print was thoughtfully selected, many carrying special meaning—Taverna Klycades, where Jacob and I had our first date; the lyrics to Billy Joel’s Lullabye, a song we played for Solomon in the belly and sing for him now; naturally, a custom portrait of his faithful steed, Odin; and lots of other tender moments. our reading nook and the best chair i’ve ever owned. The chair is where we spend every pre-nap read, so many snuggly (and late night) feeds, and of course, where endless clean laundry gets tossed before being folded.

You were once the space where we relentlessly tucked away everything we didn’t have the energy to deal with: bins of last season’s sweaters, a tangle of workout equipment, a rolled-up rug from our old apartment we couldn’t quite let go of. The catchall for things we didn’t have patience for.

But the dust began to lift as my belly grew, and you seemed to wake with me—sunlight reaching farther across your walls, as if you, too, were stretching toward what was coming.

I drove Daddy crazy taking me back and forth to Michael’s for frames! I was so meticulous about the photos we would hang, like the rest of you, they were for Solomon and I wanted them to be perfect. Daddy is always so patient.

Days ticked by, and we filled you. And then we waited (impatiently). I remember sitting on your floor, packing our bags for the hospital. It felt so novel then; I could never have understood the gravity of what was coming until it was finally, tangibly mine. Then it was one last goodbye, seeing you as you were. The next time I’d see you, everything would be different.

Suddenly, your walls were a fortress. Your green hues, uncharacteristically named Light Blue, became a calm sea. Your waves wash over me when I walk through the door. Your color wraps its arms around me the way I do him now, rocking gently.

We return to you every morning, after I’ve breathed him in beneath the light of my own room—so different from you, so full of other memories. I carry him in and pull back your curtains, letting the light crawl in on another beautiful day. I ask myself if I’m still asleep, still inside my dream, but I know I’m not.

Today we will giggle and learn, read books and fuss, nap and make googly eyes on the changing table. These are the moments I already treasure—the ones that break my heart if I think on them for too long because I know they won’t last forever. So I exhale, and steady myself.

When Solomon wakes from a nap, I crack your door and peek to the left. I see him looking up at you, but searching for me. I love you for being the familiarity he knows until I can get to him and whisper, Mommy’s right here. I lean over to lift him out of the crib and feel the whole world in my hands—and soon, in my arms. I kiss him, tell him I’ve missed him, that I love him, and sway. Thank you for sheltering him while I tidy up, while I do and undo, whatever the day requires.

In the evenings, when it’s just me and you—and Solomon—the gratitude is just shy of overwhelm. Your silence echoes softly through me; the only other sound is his slow, steady suckles, and in that moment, I’m somewhere between awake and a dream. Remember how we dreamed of this? I flash back to the swatches on your walls, how I stood here hoping, waiting, praying for the safe and healthy arrival that I now hold in my arms. Pressure builds behind my eyes, my throat tightens, and before long, tears roll down my cheeks. I look around you in disbelief that I am here. I pull Sol a little closer to my chest, to my heart, find his hand so it can tangle around my finger, and I pray to pause time.

But time doesn’t pause. And soon, we’ll leave you so he can sleep beside me, for now. I don’t long for the days of full nights of rest. Instead, I try to slow the ones I’m in—where four hours feels like enough, and my baby calls for me in the dark. And I eagerly answer.

You once felt like four walls. Now, you are something completely ethereal. You have been our sanctuary. I’ll see you in the morning.

Classic penny loafer. Timeless, polished. A shoe that works for casual or a more tailored look— with a jean for dinner, with a slack for work, you get the idea. My picks all have a bit more sole rather than super flat— my personal preference is always a little more shoe/support where I can get it.

White Button Down. Always sharp, never trying too hard. If you’ve been with me on social media or stick around here for a bit— you know I’m a broken record when it comes to a classic button down. I’m partial to oversized!

Straight-leg Jean. I like mine in a true blue wash with just enough structure to hold their shape.

The slouchier, the better. I treated myself to this Nili Lotan jerry clutch about a month ago,and I haven’t stopped wearing it—I fell fast and hard the second I saw her. I love the look of a slouchy, clutch bag… There’s a “Oh, this? I just grabbed it because I don’t have to think twice and end up looking cool every time, anyway” energy to it. It was one of those unique “when you know, you know” shopping moments—an instant purchase.

To my pleasant surprise, the price tag on this bag is modest for a designer leather piece; I’m just not feeling like spending upwards of $4,000 on a bag lately—which seems to be the baseline these days.

I threw in five options on top of the Nili bag, because I just couldn’t help myself. Low, low, mid, mid, and slightly above mid. Nili is high! And it ain’t even high.

Every closet needs a trench. A trench is another piece that to me, says I struck the balance of little to no thought and effortlessly pulled together.
