But in women, it’s beauty.

I think today I finally received the answer from God as I was praying, once again, for beauty.

I always pray for beauty. And the more I pray, the more I learn what beauty truly is.

First, beauty is not the same as “pretty.”

Second, beauty is a gift and a spirit.

Third, vanity is both a sin and a spirit.

Lastly, beauty is rooted in abundance; vanity is rooted in lack.

As shallow a woman as I am, I was shamelessly praying for physical beauty.

At least, that was how it began.

Day after day, as the Spirit led me, I found myself praying, “Beautify me in the spirit.”

“Lord, beautify me in the spirit, that I may find favor with whoever sees me.”

That prayer was not a coincidence. The Lord put His Word in my mouth.

It’s in the Book of Esther. It says that Esther found favor with all who saw her. The same happened to David after he slew Goliath and lived in Saul’s palace. Scripture says that the house of Saul—whether his children or his servants—loved David.

The same happened to Joseph. Moses. Daniel.

These men and women of God found favor because of beauty. “Fair,” “comely,” and “appealing” are among the words Scripture uses to describe them.

That’s the biblical version of “pretty privilege”—what real “pretty privilege” is.

People are so miserable these days that they low-key brag about the “pretty privilege” they experience online—things like getting free samples, free drinks, free meals, better treatment, and shorter wait times.

As if that’s good enough.

God help us.

I’m shallow enough—and deep enough—to know that beauty is so important that I diligently pray to receive it.

I want the biblical version of pretty privilege. I want God’s best—things that are too good to be true to even tell anybody, let alone brag about.

Only a fool would brag about real privilege. Whatever people can brag about is never really privilege; they’re simply too limited in their mind.

And that’s how I came to understand where to draw the line between beauty and vanity.

It’s not what you might think—”If it becomes an idol, then it’s vanity.”

That’s true, but a vague truth helps nobody.

You need revelation and understanding.

Beauty and vanity are separated by love—by the abundance and the lack of it.

Love draws the line.

The abundance of love produces security in identity, which produces humility, which produces beauty.

The lack of love breeds fear, fear breeds pride, and pride leads to vanity.

The path is clear.

Now, let me define what I mean by “love.”

Love has two directions: giving love and receiving love.

Whoever gives love must first receive it. Otherwise, the “love” they think they are giving is not love at all—it’s either desperation, passion, or manipulation.

“Whosoever has, to him more shall be given, and he shall have abundance. Whosoever has not, from him shall be taken away, even that he has.” Matthew 13:12

Love follows the principle of Matthew 13:12.

Those who are properly and abundantly loved by their parents are able to love.

What if that’s not the case? Are we stuck in the cycle of lack?

The hope is in God.

“We love because He first loved us.” —1 John 4:19

Until you know—truly know—that God loves you simply because you are, you’ll stumble in love.

You cannot give what you are not filled with.

When we are not loved enough, we become insecure.

Insecurity is the root of pride.

And pride gives birth to vanity.

When you catch yourself subconsciously believing that only if you are beautiful are you worthy of love, you have fallen into vanity.

The “glow-up” trend exists for that very reason—we are impoverished in love: not loved enough, not knowing the love of God, and therefore not able to give love.

The same thing happens to men through the pursuit of success, money, status, and the “shut up and go to the gym” mindset.

Lately, because of Andrew Tate’s arrest, I came across some of his interviews. He spoke so eloquently that, had I been just a little less familiar with the Word of God, I might have been impressed and persuaded.

He is an intelligent man, but also an epitome of the biblical fool described throughout the Book of Proverbs. Many of his perspectives on life, people, relationships, and the world come from an extreme poverty of love. Everything he did was, in his mind, an attempt to earn his deceased father’s love by following his doctrines and opinions. His father died young. He was a dysfunctional man who lived in his vehicle, neglected his responsibilities as a father and husband, was drunk much of the time, and was ultimately ruined by his pride in his talent for chess and his impotence in love.

Andrew not only inherited his father’s name; he also repeated his father’s life.

That is called a generational curse.

One person impoverished in love will impoverish their children in love. And that poverty of love binds the bloodline until someone humbles themselves and repents before God and surrenders it all to Him and walks in His way and keeps His commandments—and endures till the end.

“But he who endures till the end will be saved.” Matthew 24:13

Once I saw through it, I found myself no longer holding the vehement contempt I once had toward the Tate brothers. Some may accuse me of being “condescending.” The very reason that word comes to mind is that they have never met people so close to God that sincere love and forgiveness appear condescending to the cynical, the proud, and the wounded.

I never prayed for the Tates, just as I never prayed for many other wicked celebrities. I was not capable of doing so because I was not abundant in love.

The Lord Jesus said, “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”

Now I understand why.

He said so because He is love—not merely abundant in love, but Love Himself. And the closer I draw to Him, the more I resemble Him; the more I resemble Him, the more I love; the more I love, the more readily and genuinely I am able to pray for those who persecute me.

Love is a person, and that Person is God.

And I think, among Christian women, there are two extremes:

• Prudish, undisciplined, “letting it go” and calling it modesty.

• Being overly concerned with self-image: the “trad wife,” the fitness fanatic, the stereotypical conservative rich white woman, the housewife in Beverly Hills, and the picture-perfect Mormon wife.

And I’m sick of both.

I noticed this unspoken rule among the women in my church. They seem to feel obliged to show up every Sunday wearing an outfit nobody has ever seen before. I haven’t seen anyone—young or middle-aged—wear the same clothes they wore just a few Sundays earlier. They shop frequently—yes, inexpensive brands like Zara, Mango, or Shein—but boy they shop, a lot.

And by no means am I doubting these women’s spirituality or faith. I simply wonder: why?

Is it simply an innate female desire to keep buying new outfits and getting their nails done every month?

Or is there something else stirring them to do so—something that has become such a long-standing carnal habit that their spiritual edge has grown too blunt to cut it off?

As a young woman, I understand why middle-aged women (under 65) commit themselves to a diligent beauty routine. For one, it’s admirable.

For another, and sadly, their husbands’ eyes do wander.

How do I know?

I’m a young woman—the destination of wandering eyes.

And women always know when their husbands are eyeing other women, even if it’s merely male instinct.

Men look at other women. Women look at other women too.

And, with nothing ever spoken aloud in the process, the fear of “not enough” kicks women into vanity.

It’s fear—or you may call it insecurity, comparison, or jealousy. But essentially, all of these are manifestations of fear.

Some women—mainly those who profit from femininity coaching—say these things make them feel “feminine.”

I want you to pause from your relentless beauty routine and salon schedule for just a moment and ask yourself:

Who first planted this anxiety in you to look picture-perfect?

Was it an ex-boyfriend?

Was it your father?

Was it the man who cheated on you? The man who never wanted you? The man who changed his mind? The man who had no idea what he wanted?

Was it your sisters? Your girlfriends? Your mother?

Every little girl desires to be beautiful. That’s an instinct God gave us.

But little girls are not anxious, ashamed, or insecure about how they look.

They want to be beautiful, but they are not stressed about it. Their lives do not revolve around it.

If all you think about is what to eat, how to work out, what to wear, when to sleep, and how you look, you have burdened yourself with vanity—

Out of the fear of being abandoned.
Out of the fear of not enough.
Out of not being loved properly and abundantly.
Out of not knowing who you are, and that your worth has nothing to do with what you do.
Out of never knowing what it feels like to be loved simply for who you are—with nothing to prove and nothing to show for it.

If this is not the first time you’ve come across my content, you already know that I have never agreed it’s acceptable to “let yourself go.” I believe that is self-deprecation and self-disrespect. I would even go so far as to say it blasphemes the temple of God.

But many have crossed the line into vanity without ever coming close to beauty.

What many people call pride, I call fear.

The fear of not being worthy of love.
The fear of losing the love they hold onto.

Vanity is of sin and of a foul spirit.
Beauty is of God and of His Spirit.

The beauty of holiness.

And the temple of God in Israel has a gate called “Beautiful.”

When His countenance shines upon you, you become beautiful. You shall find favor with whoever sees you, and even your enemies shall be at peace with you.

That’s true “pretty privilege.”

Beauty is conceived and nurtured in love.

This is why man is the glory of God, and woman is the glory of man.

Derek Prince once said that if you want to know how a man is truly doing, do not look at his achievements or his status. Look at his wife.

The wife is the mirror of her husband.

A woman is beautified by love—the love of her parents, the love of her husband, and the love of God.

From that foundation, she is able to love her children properly and abundantly, and that love is passed down for generations.

A man must first abide in love before he is even qualified to take a wife.

Do not marry a man who is poor in love, for his poverty of love will eventually manifest itself in your appearance.

Do not marry a man who is madly in love with you but has never known what it feels like to be loved properly and abundantly. That is passion and desperation, not love.

He cannot give what he has never received.

If you truly love beauty, then love love.

Seek love.

Abide in love.

Increase in love.

Grow in love.

Walk in love.

Work in love.

May the Lord bless you with love, exceedingly abundantly.

May that perfect love cast out all your fear.

May you be called “beautiful” and “beloved.”

“Thou shall not covet.”

There are blatant, malicious, toxic female friendships bred out of jealousy.

But in reality, most people are moral enough to resist jealousy toward others. They know it’s unhealthy, and they hate feeling jealous of others. They never want to be in a position of envy, comparison, and covetousness—

but humans are human.

Jealousy is part of our sinful nature. Very few born-again Christians are entirely free from jealousy, and it’s very easy to tell them apart from everyone else—they are purposeful, focused, secure in their identity, and confidently walking in their destiny, powerfully moving in their calling.

But those people are rare. If 10% of the people in your church are like that, that’s a church where God truly resides.

Not all jealousy is malicious. A lot of the time, it’s mixed with admiration, emulation, appreciation, and even affection.

You aren’t likely to be jealous of those who are far beyond and above you. For example, the wife of my spiritual father is one of the most beautiful, adorable, kind, and unforgettable women I have ever met. She married young and is around my age, yet she is much more mature in life and in faith. I feel no jealousy toward her. What I have for her is pure appreciation and admiration. I want to leave people with a similar impression to the one she has left on me.

But we can easily be tempted to envy those whom we feel we are qualified to surpass, yet somehow they always seem to be just a little better than us in the overall package.

A man of God once taught me that jealousy is the mixture of love and hate. They love you so much that they want to become you. They hate you so much that they cannot bear you.

Another man of God taught me that jealousy is a sign—the sign that your spirit senses you should have gotten where they are, yet you have been lost, delayed, hindered, or sabotaged from stepping into your destiny.

You won’t compare yourself with people who are not the same “type” as you. For example, a blonde does not compete in the same lane of attractiveness as a brunette, and a tall girl does not necessarily attract the same group of men as a short girl.

Even spiritually, you don’t usually feel jealous of those who function in different gifts of the Holy Spirit from your own. If you’re a prophetess who discerns times and seasons, hears the Lord clearly, and receives dreams and visions, then you’re unlikely to feel inferior to evangelists or Bible teachers. What may embitter you is when you meet another prophetess who is more anointed in the gift of prophecy than you. That’s when comparison begins—and justification follows.

“Yes, she’s more gifted—but I’m prettier.”

“Yes, she’s more anointed—but I have a husband.”

“Yes, she’s wiser—but I’m younger.”

“Yes, people respect her—but people love me.”

Comparison always demands justification. It cannot simply celebrate another person. It must find a way to restore the balance in its own mind.

Jealousy triggers comparison, and comparison seeks justification. You start examining her “whole package” against your own and justify your bitterness over her greater anointing.

Because most of us are moral enough to resist feeling jealous of another person, we develop coping mechanisms. Comparison and justification are one. Befriending is another.

Not everyone befriends the person she is jealous of. Most women subtly reject and distance themselves from the woman they envy. They will smile and greet you, but you’re never included in anything. Then, in an unexpected moment, when you catch them off guard, you see jealousy all over their faces. Their first reaction—that fleeting expression that lasts only a second—reveals what they truly feel about your highlights.

But that jealousy is easy to spot and easy to deal with. It rarely causes real damage in your life because they don’t even want you around. They cannot tolerate you, so they simply avoid you.

There’s another coping mechanism for jealousy that I’ve noticed, and it is far more dangerous.

Instead of avoiding you, they approach you. They befriend you. They ask you out. They gain access to your life and gradually occupy more of your schedule and your affairs.

You won’t discover their intentions or underlying motives because they are most likely unaware of them themselves. They actually befriend you because they are trying to shake off their jealousy. They go the extra mile to prove to themselves that they are not jealous of you by becoming your friend.

It’s similar to closeted homosexuals being the loudest homophobias, or racists making friends with—even dating—people of the race they discriminate against in order to prove to themselves that they are not racist.

Why? Because God forbids jealousy. God forbids racism. God forbids homosexuality. We are innately ashamed of everything God forbids, yet our sinful nature tempts us to walk the extra mile around the shame of sinning against God—even just in our hearts.

Men do this too. For example, in The White Lotus Season 2, the white guy befriended the Asian guy all the way back in college out of jealousy.2

It’s not just morality. These people are also too proud to admit that they are jealous of you, so they swallow it down and approach you instead. For one, they want to “figure you out.” For another, they want to avoid confronting their jealousy toward you. And lastly, they want to keep you under their watch and control.

Monitoring spirits are demonic spirits, and they gain access to people through the sins of jealousy and covetousness. The best way to monitor you and seek opportunities to sabotage you is by earning your trust and gaining access to your time, your space, and your network.

Again, not everyone does this with the intention of destroying you. Many are tempted down this path because of the unconfronted and unrepented jealousy in their hearts.

Last month, we talked about “shrinking” to fit in—and how it’s self-sabotaging.

Today, I want to dissect why you feel the need to shrink.

Because you stand out.

It’s something most people aren’t suave enough to hide.

They swallow. They maintain eye contact, but their eyes reveal what’s beneath the surface.

They feel attracted, intimidated, and curious about you at the same time.

Everyone keeps asking you questions without offering anything about themselves in return.

Sometimes they have bad intentions. Sometimes they don’t—because envy is immediate, but not something we can process right away.

Sometimes they are genuinely good people. They’re subconsciously struggling to suppress involuntary envy, and it manifests as prying.

Trust your instincts.

If you feel uncomfortable, don’t answer as if you’re obliged to. Change the subject. Keep things vague.

You feel like shrinking because that’s what happened to you every time in social settings when you are just being yourself. You’re the light and a city on a hill that cannot be hidden.

You’re tired of questions you don’t want to answer. Sometimes they’re so specific and private that you wouldn’t even ask them yourself. So to avoid this, you shrink. You act smaller, more casual, more “down to earth.” You lower yourself to their level so they’ll leave you alone.

If that’s what you believe, you’ve fallen into a trap.

I spent a decade figuring out who I am and what I want—a decade in the wilderness of my beloved America.

After moving to Europe, I realized I’m no longer seen by Europeans as Chinese, but as a Californian, an American—though they seem more interested in China than in America.

Indeed, I am. I was born again in California.

The abused verbiage “born again” seems to lose its weight when we frequently encounter people who claim to be born again with no fruit to show for it.

But that expression is both literal and truthful to my experience. My life before and after Christ was a night-and-day difference—one that amazed every acquaintance from my past life. I never preached Jesus verbally to my people in China; they saw Him in me, and they saw His power in making me someone they could not recognize, without a word spoken.

The memory of China felt almost lost to my new, eternal life in Christ. You cannot enter the Promised Land if you still carry a history of slavery in Egypt. You must die in the wilderness—and then be born again there as a free man.

I can’t pinpoint how this death and resurrection happened, but within three years I was delivered from Egypt twice, died twice, and was baptized twice—first in water, then in the Holy Spirit—and was supernaturally delivered and healed of trauma I hadn’t even known I carried, within only two weeks.

My life in Christ has been an accelerated montage. The Lord is the Redeemer of time. He created all things in six days, and that became my leverage—I asked Him to restore to me all the years the locusts had eaten in six days, six months, as quickly as possible.

Be careful what you ask for—because our God answers.

Life is like bamboo: everything remains dormant for years, and then all of a sudden the breakthrough comes and changes the story.

Life is like Joseph: just as your circumstances go from bad to worse, suddenly you stand and rule in the palace.

Life is like Esther: you go from orphan to queen, and just when you think you’ve made it, your true calling—the reason that gives your life its meaning—emerges. Everything in your life leads to this moment, when you say to yourself, “If I perish, I perish.”

If I perish, I perish.

I don’t remember how many tribulations and trials I went through with this measure of faith. The faith was given to me; the faith came by hearing.

The person who wears the most unassuming outfits, keeps his natural hair color, and has no tattoos or piercings—who sits quietly in the back of the room—often has the craziest life, the wildest soul, the most intense walk with God.

Adventures do not make one loud, just as the greatest pain produces no tear. The result of walking through fire and upon water is a gentle and quiet spirit, precious in the eyes of God.

I certainly did not have that spirit before Christ, or even at the beginning of my new life.

I grew quiet and gentle because the walk with God is too much to broadcast. I’ve tried to convey my testimony, but no language can describe the love of God. No one will ever know the full picture of my testimony, but everyone will see the fruit.

My own sins humble me, enabling me to forgive anyone—even in the very moment they sin against me. Gentleness comes from humility; it is hard to be gentle when pride is at work.

My private, isolated season has taught me silence and stillness. At first, it felt lonely not being able to share or celebrate with others, but slowly I have found peace in keeping secrets between God and me. I’ve had belly laughs alone with Him. I’ve talked to Him, sung to Him, walking down the street through the never-thinning tourist crowds like a crazy woman.

A gentle and quiet spirit.

Opposed to feminism, women have begun craving traditional womanhood—but I found one thing missing in the world’s teaching on femininity, and that is a gentle and quiet spirit.

It is the woman who rises in darkness with thanksgiving to the Lord, who sits in stillness in the presence of God at dawn. No phone, no laptop, no other people. She simply sits and listens as the day whitens and light glows out of her.

“In repentance and rest you will be saved,
In quietness and trust is your strength.” Isaiah 30:15

No strength is stronger than peace.

The peace of lacking nothing, worrying about nothing, craving nothing.
The peace of being present and abundant.
The peace of having a hope and a future.
The peace of purity—of being forgiven.
The peace of obsessing over nothing, overcome by nothing, anguished by nothing.
The peace of knowing, down to the depths of your subconscious, that you are a son of God.

The worldly self-help stuff can only take you so far—you might see your life transformed, but peace with God remains beyond your reach. Your financial or relational breakthroughs cannot sustain your happiness; they come and go. But the peace from God, the joy of the Lord, and the sonship we receive through Christ remain forever.

I love all the pretty little things in life. Did I not have such things and moments in the past? I did—but I wasn’t able to see or taste them without this gentle and quiet spirit.

The world and the culture wronged me. A woman can never be a man. A woman is not made to perform consistently on a daily basis for a lifetime like a man. A woman has a monthly pattern and a fertile season. Modern expectations of women—that she must be a high achiever, and married, and a mother—destroy women, dragging us into a cycle of despair: hustling, bustling, worrying, anxious, insecure, nagging, manipulative, controlling, bitter—the list goes on.

I love frothing the milk and then topping my cappuccino with a bit of cacao powder—making it a mocha for no reason except that every morning with the Lord is a gift.

I love my pink flannel striped pajamas. They’re soft, warm, fluffy, feminine; they make my complexion appear rosy.

I love sitting by the Christmas tree in my favorite Starbucks in town, and I find my matcha latte extra rewarding when the non–English-speaking barista correctly uses a mug instead of a paper cup.

I love squeezing through the touristy old town in Spain each day, just as I once walked down the Arno in Florence holding a pot of fresh basil, in the sun and the lights that turn the night into a painting by Van Gogh.

I enjoy my corn cake with hummus all the more after a gratifying workout and an enlightening podcast at the gym, soaking in the illusion that my waist-to-hip ratio has instantly improved.

I find my nail polish delightful while typing, and I sometimes giggle in the middle of writing because of it.

I feel loved when brushing and blessing my hair, rubbing oil into the ends—for long hair is a woman’s glory—knowing that even the hairs on my head are numbered.

I feel nurtured when I talk to myself gently while doing my makeup, like a little Get-Ready-With-Me moment.

I feel pampered every time I take my hand cream and Vaseline out of my bag while working.

Each time I come across a woman who smells amazing, I feel uplifted.

Each time I walk in heels, it feels like walking in power.

Each time I make my yogurt bowl for dessert—whole-fat Greek yogurt, rolled oats, fruit, topped with crushed walnuts and honey from lemon blossoms—instead of buying a gelato or a pistachio-butter croissant, I feel like a million dollars.

I wouldn’t compromise on having fresh flowers in the house.

I faithfully take myself to Italian restaurants twice a month, even though they’re kind of disappointing in Spain. There’s no comparison between being taken out and taking yourself out to dinner. Romance is good, but power is better.

Power comes from peace.

And peace comes from God.

My lady, when you rest in the Lord and understand that a woman is not created to prosper in the way of men, peace will remain with you. And that precious, gentle, and quiet spirit will become the magnetic vessel that attracts love, joy, and hope—abundantly.

Be still, and know that I am God.

Know Him, and from within you will flow rivers of living water—and because you flow, you thrive. A day with God is like a thousand years, and it is enough to change your story forever.

If it hurts, let go.

If it burdens, put it down.

If it drains, walk away.

If it shouts, stay quiet.

If it contends, make peace.

If it rushes, breathe.

If it confuses, cut clean.

You have an eternal life that is abundant in every blessing.

“This is the promise He Himself gave us: eternal life.” 1 John 2:25

All Chinese will stare at you on the street that kind of fat.

The body shape is not the problem, so I insist I’m not body-shaming.

The problem is how messed-up the mentality and how rotten the spirit must be for a person to be that fat.

Maybe fat people can have a personality—but they definitely don’t have character.

Also, I don’t go to church with pastors that look like a burnt offering.

No.3 Bad hygiene

It doesn’t just end at bad smell.

If I ever got a chance to visit some people’s homes, and it’s dingy, stuffy, humid, smelling like mold and ammonia—it doesn’t matter how clean and organized it appears to the eyes, I’m getting the hell out of there with no excuse.

And indeed I was known for leaving abruptly without excuse the moment I sensed something off. “I gotta go”—that’s all I would say before I fled.

Sin has a smell you can’t hide with shower or perfume. Actually not just “a” smell. There are a few different smells—and they all smell differently bad.

If you work in the medical field or have experience taking care of patients, you know different diseases have different smells (they are in the medical textbooks as part of the diagnosis).

Spirits smell too. And that’s why they’re called “unclean spirits.” The devil might look like an angel of light but he definitely smells—something beyond the stinky level of human odor.

No.4 Terrible voice

Please don’t be offended if you are insecure about your own voice.

I’m not talking about a general bad voice—but a voice that is an echo from hell.

If the eyes are the window of the soul, then the voice is a resonance of the soul. The voices I couldn’t bear aren’t just unattractive—they are unclean, like gas coming through a pipe of filth.

And I doubt this is a coincidence—most of these unbearable voices sound like frogs in a cave, where is wet and slimy, a perfect breeding place for perverted creatures that creep.

BTW, frog spirit is one type of the marine spirit—if you have ever heard of the marine kingdom—and that “frog flood” in Exodus is God’s epic sarcasm against an Egyptian god that is a frog.

If you are a man failing to maximize your look despite all your efforts, remember—voice makes a man 10X more attractive than the league his look belongs in.

Though anxiety is often treated as a mental issue, it is, in fact, a spiritual attack that must be addressed in the spiritual realm.

First, you need deliverance through the power of God. Afterward, adjusting your daily life according to His will prevents anxiety from returning.

Jesus said, when an unclean spirit leaves a person, it wanders but later returns to its original host. If it finds the house empty—unfilled by the Holy Spirit—it brings back seven other spirits more evil than itself. (Matthew 12:43–45)

This is why deliverance often lacks lasting effects for non-believers. A person may be delivered through the minister’s anointing, but if they have not surrendered their life to Christ—or even if they have, yet fail to align their lifestyle with repentance—their deliverance will not endure.

Scripture further warns in 2 Peter 2:20–22 and Hebrews 6:4–6:

If someone has tasted God’s grace, witnessed His glory, and yet becomes entangled again in the lust of the world , it would have been better for them never to have been saved.

Over the past two years, I’ve undergone two stages of deliverance and have walked the path to complete freedom. Let’s dive in.

Spiritual solution

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1

Anxiety can only carry us away if we allow it. When we let our feelings lead us instead of the written Word of God, we become the tail rather than the head. To uproot anxiety and shut it out of our lives for good, we must cling to the Word and make a decision: We will resist our feelings and let God’s Word guide us each day.

“And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them.” Deuteronomy 28:13

Emotional discipline cannot be achieved through mental effort alone. To truly rule over our emotions, we must surrender to something far more trustworthy than our feelings or circumstances—the Almighty God.

There are three key steps to the spiritual solution:

NO.1 Fasting

“This type does not come out except by fasting and prayers.” Matthew 17:21

As we discussed in my last post, the spirit of anxiety operates alongside the spirit of witchcraft. It is stubborn and generational—meaning it often enters through bloodlines, as demons gain access to lineages through iniquities.

(Quick insight on the severity of sin: iniquities > transgressions > trespasses.)

You WILL NOT cast out anxiety without fasting.

But do not fear. Fasting is neither as hard nor as painful as the demon whispering in your ear wants you to believe. You don’t dread fasting—demons do. That’s why they instill that fear in you.

“For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame—who set their mind on earthly things.” Philippians 3:18-19

Gluttony and anxiety are inseparable—in fact, they fuel each other. We eat when anxious, bored, or upset. Conversely, overeating—especially unhealthy foods—triggers guilt, which spikes anxiety. If a prolonged fast feels overwhelming right now, start small: skip breakfast and use that time to feast on God’s Word instead.

My personal experience:

I began intermittent fasting unintentionally—honestly, I was just too lazy to cook three times a day or meal prep. Throughout 2023, I maintained OMAD (One Meal A Day), eating only within a 4-hour window.

Looking back, I wouldn’t recommend OMAD for women because fixating on that single meal could actually intensify anxiety.

That same year, I was water baptized and sensed God calling me to fast for spiritual breakthrough.

The first spiritual fast I did was simply to extend my normal fasting window by three more hours—and I was immediately delivered from anxiety and gluttony at the same time.

NO.2 Praying

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Philippians 4:6

Pray—as soon as you sense it strikes you. The more you practice, the sharper your discernment will be, and the sooner you can swat anxiety to death like a mosquito before it sucks you dry.

Do not walk down the path it leads you to. Stop right there. Don’t listen, don’t think, and don’t act—just pray.

NO.3 Build an altar

“Arise, walk in the land through its length and its width, for I give it to you.”

Then Abram moved his tent, and went and dwelt by the terebinth trees of Mamre, which are in Hebron, and built an altar there to the Lord. Genesis 13:17-18

Abraham immediately built an altar to the Lord after receiving the promise. He knew how to manifest God's promise: to build an altar—while still nomadic and living in a tent.

You're not fighting homeless demons but a demonic altar targeting not just you but your family and lineage. Only an altar can destroy an altar. Build an altar for the Lord—set daily time for God. Tithe not only your income but your time—you owe God at least two hours per day.

An altar can be at your dining table, desk, bedside, park, hill, or nearby lake. Go to the altar and spend time with God. Do not entertain—let alone act on—your thoughts until finishing your divine appointment each day.

When Adam and Eve sinned, God appeared in Eden as usual, asking Adam, “Where are you?”

God knew they had sinned, yet He expected them to show up as always. Keep your altar. Show up for your appointment—no matter what happened, no matter what sin you've stumbled into.

Physical solution

If you cannot apply the spiritual solution, there's no point moving forward. Even if you follow all the steps here, if you're not delivered spiritually, it's only a matter of time before anxiety—far worse anxiety, along with witchcraft spirit, controlling spirit, Jezebel spirit, religious spirit—hunt you down.

“Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” James 4:7

However, after your deliverance, the enemy will try to regain control over you—this time illegally. You will need to adjust your physical life and routine to resist the devil regularly until he flees from you.

NO.1 Deep breath

“Be still, and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10

Pause right there and take deep breaths—once, twice, three times, or more. Then pray. Pray until it's gone. Then breathe deeply and wear a smile on your face—this isn't just a trick for your mind, but because you've prayed, whatever you worried about is already solved.

NO.2 Write it down strategically

“Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” Matthew 6:27

Write down everything in two columns:

• What you can control

• What you can’t control

You'll realize that anxiety comes from what you can't control. And because you can't control these things, you become controlling—nagging, pushy, micromanaging toward those who do have control.

Remember: Whatever you can't control, you can pray about. God can handle it far better than you could ever imagine.

NO.3 Put away all electronics

“My soul, wait silently for God alone, For my expectation is from Him.” Psalm 62:3

Grabbing your phone first in the morning to check emails or social media invites anxiety to overshadow your day. Turn off the alarm, sit up and pray a quick prayer. Do all your morning routine, especially don't forget to go to the altar. The gist is, do not be accessible until you're whole.

NO.4 Walk in the sun

“Surely none who wait for You will be put to shame.” Psalm 25:3

While non-believers think they are separated from God in this life, it's not true—sunshine is proof that though they do not believe, they still live in the goodness of God, for

“He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.” (Matthew 5:45)

Not only will you replenish your Vitamin D and boost your energy, but walking in sunshine also uplifts your spirit like nothing else. When anxious, we become absent-minded - making weight-lifting or intense cardio ineffective. Take it easy: walk, breathe, pray, and soak up the sun.

BTW, research shows that this is the best cardio you can do to lose fat in the long run.

NO.5 Sleep well and plan meals

Sleep quality directly affects cortisol levels. While we can't live anxiety-free by addressing only physical factors, caring for our bodies—the holy temple of God—certainly helps. Research shows that going to bed before 11 PM and sleeping over 7 hours daily significantly reduces stress, hair loss, inflammation, and stubborn belly fat.

Diet is another key factor. Don't just “grab a bite” when hungry—plan meals in advance, at least by early morning. Stick to your meal plans, track macros and calories if not using an existing meal-plan. Without planning, emotional eating becomes tempting, keeping you trapped in anxiety's cycle.
