Some of these changes are significant, and members should begin preparing now for Annual Enrollment.

Annual Enrollment Will Be Different This Year

Disney’s 2027 Annual Enrollment period will run from October 14 through November 12, 2026.

Unlike prior years, coverage generally will not automatically roll over. Disney’s company-wide communication says nearly all employees will need to actively select their plans and re-enroll dependents for 2027.

STCU has been advised that, for eligible employees, failing to actively enroll will result in the employee remaining in their current medical plan at the employee-only level.

That means this is not an enrollment period to ignore.

If you currently cover a spouse, domestic partner, or children, you should plan to actively complete Annual Enrollment.

Disney has also advised STCU that a dependent eligibility audit will take place in early 2027, and employees may be required to provide documentation establishing a dependent’s eligibility.

A Major Change for Spouses and Domestic Partners

Beginning in 2027, a spouse or domestic partner will only be eligible for Disney medical coverage if they do not have access to medical coverage through their own employer.

Employees covering a spouse or domestic partner will be required to attest to that eligibility during Annual Enrollment.

This is a significant change for families who have historically chosen Disney coverage even though a spouse had access to another employer’s plan.

Disney’s initial company-wide announcement did not spell out this particular change, but the Company has advised that additional information will be provided as Annual Enrollment approaches.

Medical Plans and Costs Are Changing

Disney has advised that most medical plans will see design changes and that employee contributions will increase.

For STCU Regular Full Time employees, the Collective Bargaining Agreement places specific limits on how much weekly contributions for the HMO and Consumer Choice plans can increase in 2027.

The maximum increases over the 2026 rates are:

• Employee Only: $3 per week

• Employee + Spouse: $10 per week

• Employee + Children: $5 per week

• Employee + Family: $12 per week

The Agreement also provides that employee contribution rates for group medical plans and tiers must be the same as or less than those established for salaried employees.

Other Changes Coming in 2027

Disney has also advised of several additional changes for 2027, including:

• Wellness rewards will no longer be offered.

• The Consumer Choice Health Savings Account seed will be $500 for all coverage tiers.

• More medications will be included in the variable co-pay program for lower-cost prescriptions through the Center for Living Well.

• Under Consumer Choice and Consumer Value, GLP-1 medications for weight loss will be subject to the deductible.

• A new Consumer Value medical plan will be available to eligible employees.

• A third Center for Living Well is scheduled to open in South Orlando during 2027.

• Dental and vision coverage, costs, and eligibility are not changing.

• Warby Parker will be added as an in-network vision provider.

• Employee Assistance Program counseling will increase from 10 to 20 sessions per topic per year.

Disney has also announced plans for an Employee Stock Purchase Plan later in 2027, pending final approvals and details.

The Most Important Thing to Remember

Annual Enrollment runs October 14 through November 12, 2026.

If you currently have dependents on your Disney medical coverage, do not assume their coverage will automatically continue into 2027.

Make sure you actively complete Annual Enrollment and review your plan choices, dependent eligibility, and costs carefully.

Sep 9/10 - d&b Fundamentals 2 - ArrayCalc
Part one will introduce participants to the d&b audiotechnik system prediction software ArrayCalc. Attendees will also be introduced to tips and tricks to help solve issues they may encounter when planning and deploying their sound system. Part two will involve system alignment, dispersion maps in 3D, assigning amplifiers to loudspeakers, and preparing your system plan to be deployed. They will also review d&b amplifier features and functions, and the critical elements needed for networking your d&b sound system.

Conflict de-escalation requires patience, a willingness to listen, and an ability to see the humanity in everyone, even those we don’t agree with or who seek to hurt us. Using Right To Be’s Observe-Breathe-Connect methodology, this training can teach you how to identify potential conflict before it escalates using our “pyramid of escalation” and how to assess whether intervening is the right action.

July 30 - d&b Fundamentals 4 - ArrayProcessing
Participants are introduced to the principles behind ArrayProcessing and recommended workflow when planning your sound system, including the simulation and calculation processes in ArrayCalc, understanding the predicted results, when to make changes to your ArrayProcessing settings, as well as to the transfer of the resulting ArrayProcessing settings using the R1 Remote control software.

At the June 3, 2026, General Membership Meeting of IATSE Local 631, the Membership approved a temporary waiver of the Local’s $100 initiation fee for eligible applicants.

The International has also approved a waiver of its $100 initiation fee for the same period and under the same conditions.

This is a limited-time opportunity and is the first time in over a decade that this type of initiation fee waiver has been offered.

Effective June 3, 2026, and continuing through December 3, 2026, any person who is active on the Local 631 Referral Hall list — including A+, A, B, C, and Reserve — may apply for membership without paying either the Local’s $100 initiation fee or the International’s $100 initiation fee, provided the applicant pays their first two quarters of dues in advance.

The current quarterly dues amount is $85.52 per quarter. Therefore, an eligible applicant must pay $171.04 in advance for their first two quarters of dues in order to receive both initiation fee waivers.

After the Local Office verifies payment of the first two quarters of dues, an application request will be processed with the International. A digital application will then be sent by email to the email address provided on the Application Request Form.

Once the application is processed, the applicant will be placed on the agenda at a General Membership Meeting to be voted on for acceptance into membership. The applicant will receive notice from the Local advising them which meeting they have been scheduled for.

Applicants will be invited to attend that meeting, introduce themselves to the Membership, and, if accepted by vote of the Membership, be sworn in as members of IATSE Local 631.

This temporary waiver applies only to those who are active on the Local 631 Referral Hall list during the waiver period and who meet the advance-dues payment requirement. All other requirements for membership remain subject to the Local and International Constitutions and applicable rules.

The waiver period began June 3, 2026, and will end on December 3, 2026.

Anyone currently active on the Referral Hall list who is interested in applying for membership should contact the Local 631 office for the application process and any additional instructions.

This 4 day rope access training is for SPRAT Certification Levels and concluded by 1 day with SPRAT Evaluator. One level taught per course. These courses teach workers how to safely access structures using two-rope systems, as well as advanced techniques of structural progression and rescue. June 28/29 - IATSE TTF OSHA 10 - General Industry
The purpose of this course is to teach workers about their rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint as well as how to recognize, abate, and prevent job-related hazards.

June 30 - Red Cross - Adult First Aid/CPR/AED ($69, reimbursable through TTF)
The American Red Cross Adult First Aid/CPR/AED course equips students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid breathing and cardiac emergencies involving adults.
