I’ve reached a point in my life where my digital presence is everywhere, just like me in real life, yet I am nowhere to be found.

My IG stories are a 24/7 flashing sign of my existence—I’m traveling, catching flights, I’m answering emails, I’m laughing with friends, I’m busy. I know how it looks. I know the labels people love to slap on girls like me: Avoidant. Hopper. Heartbreaker. Alexa play The Bolter by Taylor Swift.

When in all honesty, I’m a terrible liar. My hands shake when I try to tilt the truth; it shows on my face before I even finish the sentence. My life is far too interesting to bother with fiction, so when I talk to you, when I show my heart on my sleeve, that’s real. That is my soul recognizing yours—a "star" meeting another "star."

But just because I’m showing you my heart doesn’t mean I’m inviting you to move in.

Whenever I meet a man, I’m careful to dismantle the wall of confusion immediately. I say it clearly: Nothing romantic is being promised here. I refuse to give the impression that I’m leading anyone on. It’s not that I don’t like you; it’s that I’m currently "out of office" in the romance department. I can’t sustain a constant presence—not because I don’t care, but because I can’t always sustain that flow.

I am, by nature, a deeply committed person. I’ve always been the Alpha—the nominated mom, the leader of the pack, the trailblazer, the president. If I’m handed a role, I don’t just play it; I dominate it. If I’m going to be "someone’s someone," I want to give 200%. I don't want to show up only when it’s convenient or because I’m bored and have a gap in my schedule. I want to be there all the time. I want to be the one you turn to when the world gets loud. I want to be the person who knows your silence as well as your speech.

If you’re my person, if you’re my man, then you deserve the version of me that doesn't have one foot out the door. You deserve the version that isn't distracted by a thousand other missions. If I ever step into love, I know I will give it everything I have. I want to be my best version for you.

Right now, I can't split myself like that. There are things I’m still building. Spreadsheets and business I have yet to tackle, big city marathons I have yet to conquer, books I have yet to publish, and a version of myself I am still chasing down. I’m still chasing the version of me that can hold all that love without dropping the rest of my life.

I know my 200% self. She’s a powerhouse. She’s the girl who shows up, the girl who leads, the girl who loves with a ferocity that most people can't handle. And until I can bring that woman to the table, until I can give you the version of me that isn't checking her watch or counting her steps—I’m choosing to step back.

Entering a relationship at 50% feels like a "diet" version of love, and I’ve never been good at doing anything halfway. I refuse to be someone’s headache. I refuse to be the source of your confusion.

It’s like when a guy asks what my "type" is. It’s the most exhausting question in the world. It’s like asking someone where they want to travel when they haven’t even packed their bags yet. I usually just say, "A good smile," and leave it at that. It’s not that I don’t know what I want; it’s just that I’m not ready to go there yet.

So, I bolt. I move from one thing to the next—not because I’m running away, but because I’m running toward a long-term constant that needs my focus right now.

To the men still watching my stories every day: I’m glad you’re curious. I’m glad we connected. It’s enough for me to know you’re breathing and safe in your corner of the world, and I hope you feel the same for me. Just allow me to exist. Allow yourself to float in my orbit. You know that quote: "If you love a flower, you don't pick it. You let it bloom."

I might not reply constantly, but I’ll still be the one to send that 'Merry Christmas, hope you're doing amazing' text once a year, just to acknowledge that you existed and that it mattered. But for the other 364 days? Allow me to stay in the shadows.

Don’t mistake my transparency for an invitation. I’m not leading you on; I’m letting you see a girl who is finally prioritizing her own end-game. I might land in a "the one" role someday, I can’t give you a timeframe for that. I might choose to be a diva for the rest of my life, or I might remain a ghost. Who knows really.

But there is one thing I am certain of: What we had was real. My life isn’t a collection of 'half-hearted' attempts; it’s a map of beautiful, shared intensity.

I carry it all with me. That ridiculous bike ride by the coast where we probably looked like amateurs. The way my arms burned while kayaking in Palawan. Sitting on the Brooklyn Bridge, passing a bag of gummy bears. I can still feel the sand in my shoes from the bonfire at the beach, and that frantic, "if-we-miss-this-we’re-stranded" sprint for the last train at Kobe Harborland.

I remember the exact smell of the food stalls in Dotonbori and the way we’d walk through the city lights of BGC at midnight until our legs gave out—just talking for hours, fueled by that shared Capricorn drive and Sagittarius rising energy.

That dinner cruise in Victoria Harbour with the fireworks reflecting off the water. The way we dissected our lives over lunch in Singapore. And the 'did that actually just happen?' meet-cute in front of the Empire State.

None of that was 'content.' I wasn't performing. Or a chess move I'm strategizing in my head. Those moments were just us. Those moments are the bricks I used to build the person I am today. They are the most real things I own.

I didn't lie about the spark. I just recognized that those stars aligned for a moment, and right now, I have to be the one to keep them from burning out. I’m not running away from what we had; I’m preserving it in its purest form, before the weight of 'the everyday' could turn it into something mundane.

I’d rather be a beautiful memory than a half-hearted reality. You deserve the best part of me. And right now, I’m still tracing the lines of who she’s supposed to be.

Lately, I've been seeing people on the internet showing off "photoshoots" that never really happened. AI edits of themselves at the beach, in South France, with the perfect sunset glow. Wow. You scroll, and you're not even sure if you're looking at reality or just a really good algorithm with imagination.

Part of me thinks it's brilliant. People get to see themselves in a light they may never have experienced before. Perhaps that kind of image becomes a vision board, a tiny push to someday make it real.

I'm happy for anyone who feels empowered, glamorous, or simply seen through those AI photos. But never, if this was meant to fool anyone.

But then there's the other part of me. The one who actually saves up, books the ticket, packs the bag, and gets sand in my shoes just to capture that one photo in a real place. The one who sweats under the summer sun, angles her phone, waits for golden hour, and clicks a moment that actually happened. I can't help but feel a little... cheated. Like, why did I spend hours, effort, and money when someone else can just hit "generate" and be sipping an Al piña colada in Santorini?

And yet... perhaps that's the point. Probably this whole Al craze is holding up a mirror to what we value. If we only want the picture for clout, then sure, fake the trip, fake the glow, fake the whole scene. But if we want the memory, the salt on our lips, the laughter behind the lens —no edit can give us that.

So I guess it comes down to this: don't travel for clout, don't post for clout. Travel because you want to be there.

Post because you want to remember. If you only need the validation, skip the plane ticket, Photoshop will take you anywhere.

As for me, I'll take the real beach. Even if it's messy, even if it's not as polished as AI. Because when I look back at my pictures, I don't just see myself I remember myself.

And that's something no algorithm can generate.
