The first advice I gave to myself when I began my personal development journey was never to think activities would result in progress.

As someone who came from a background where hard work was seen as doing something always, it was easy to think that engaging in lots of activities would make me productive and resourceful.

But I knew better, earlier.

I never bought the idea of trying to read lots of books. Instead, I picked books on certain areas of my life I needed to work on, read them and apply the lessons immediately.

I did the same for podcasts, courses and training opportunities.

I was not everywhere; I was always where I needed to be per time. This helped me build certain skills and habits quickly.

The struggle some people have is that they swim in loads of activities — reading books, listening to podcasts, taking courses, sitting for training and even jumping on various mentorship opportunities without asking the question — IS THIS WHAT I NEED NOW?

Not knowing what you need and where you are headed will leave you confused, overwhelmed and unfocused. You may find yourself being so busy learning but sadly, you are just engaging in activities that leave you with little or no progress.

What can you do to fix this?

Be kind to yourself. This is the first level of acceptance; that point where you acknowledge that you are not where you want to be however, you are not so bad. Be kind to yourself.

Next, get a jotter and pen and list out areas you think needs to be fixed. Look deeply within yourself — the first act of self-love is being able to see what needs to be fixed in you. So, look deeply and write down what you feel is amiss with you whether in your personal and professional life.

Next, prioritize. Look at the list you’ve made and ask yourself: Which of these areas, if worked on, will make the biggest difference in my life right now? Don’t try to fix everything at once. Choose one or two areas that align with your current season. Your focus should be on transformation, not ticking boxes.

Then, find resources that speak directly to that area. If you need to work on discipline, don’t get distracted by a course on digital marketing or a webinar on how to grow your Instagram. Focus. Search for books, podcasts, mentors, or courses that target that specific growth area. And even with those, apply wisdom — don’t try to overdo it. Work with what you can commit to and implement.

Work with a routine that doesn't feel like a burden to you. Make this process a simple and enjoyable one. In my case, I would pick one chapter of a book, read it and apply the lessons. I would use headsets to listen to podcasts and courses when I am doing house chores.

This made my learning process sweet. Because growth doesn’t happen by collection; it happens by connection — connecting with what aligns, and then committing to it.

Also, check your routine. Some people are not making progress because their days are filled with activities that have no bearing on their personal goals. Look at your time blocks: how many hours are spent doing things that don’t reflect your priorities? Trim that list. Declutter your calendar. Reclaim your time.

Now, implement. Not in your head — in real life. Test what you’ve learned. Adjust as you go. Track your progress. Document your growth. That’s how you build momentum.

Remember, clarity is not just knowing what you want; it’s also knowing what to ignore.

So no, activity is not equal to progress. Intentionality is.

And sometimes, the most productive thing you can do is pause, reflect, and realign.

Opt for tiny, deliberate actions that move the needle.

Don’t be everywhere.

Be present where it matters.

Be present where you matter.

That’s how progress begins.

In years past, we had more books written by men. History, philosophy, science, business, and even the stories of our daily lives were largely told from a male perspective. Women’s voices were often unheard, their experiences undocumented, their contributions overlooked. In fact, history is filled with stories of women whose voices were silenced.

Very few women were willing — or even allowed — to share their stories and write books. Some were told that their words didn’t matter. Others feared rejection, societal limitations, or lacked access to education and publishing opportunities. Their wisdom remained in whispers, passed down only through conversations.

But here is good news!

I shared some stories of women who have dared to break barriers by writing their books. Women like you, your mum, female siblings, friends and colleagues.

During one of my meditations, I stumbled upon a profound Biblical character called Ahithophel.

Ahithophel was an adviser; not an ordinary one actually – his counsel was so respected that the Bible describes it this way:

Now in those days, the advice Ahithophel gave was like that of one who inquires of God. That was how both David and Absalom regarded all of Ahithophel’s advice. (2 Samuel 16:23, NIV)

He was David’s most trusted counselor, offering guidance so precise and insightful that it was seen as divine wisdom. His ability to analyse situations and provide strategies made him an invaluable asset to the kingdom.

Despite his prominence, Ahithophel made a fatal decision – he sided with Absalom, David’s son, in his rebellion against the king.

But why?

It is believed that his betrayal was fueled by personal bitterness. Ahithophel was the grandfather of Bathsheba, the woman with whom David committed adultery before orchestrating the murder of her husband, Uriah (2 Samuel 11). Though David repented, it is possible that Ahithophel never forgave him and saw Absalom’s rebellion as an opportunity for revenge.

Now, Ahithophel didn’t just join Absalom to rebel against the king – he became the architect of his rebellion by advising Absalom on how to solidify his claim to the throne. One of his first pieces of advice was that Absalom should sleep with David’s concubines in public, a move meant to shame David and show that reconciliation was impossible.

Despite his early influence in the rebellion, Ahithophel made a critical mistake. When he advised Absalom to send an army after David in 2 Samuel 17:1-4, his counsel was rejected in favor of Hushai’s advice.

Now, Hushai was a spy loyal to David, and his suggestion to delay the attack bought David time to regroup.

For the first time, Ahithophel’s words were not followed. This was the turning point.

The man whose wisdom had once been absolute and respected suddenly found himself ignored. His greatest strength – his mind – was now powerless to control the situation.

Realizing that Absalom had ignored his advice and that the rebellion was doomed to fail, Ahithophel went home, put his affairs in order, and hanged himself. His end was swift and sorrowful.

So sad!

While meditating on this story, my thoughts went wild into how a lot of people have become ‘Ahithophels’ unknowingly… These people, who once thought themselves to be the best, can no longer believe that they are no longer relevant.

Once, they were the go-to experts, the trusted voices in their fields, the ones whose words carried weight. But something changed. Their advice is no longer sought after, their skills are now questioned, and their influence has faded. And just like Ahithophel, they struggle to accept this new reality.

Some fight back, refusing to evolve. They hold on to old methods, rejecting change even when the world around them is moving forward. Others become bitter, blaming everyone but themselves for their decline. And then there are those who, like Ahithophel, feel lost when their wisdom is ignored — because they tied their entire identity to being "the smartest person in the room."

But here’s the hard truth: Relevance is not a permanent title. It is earned and maintained through adaptability, humility, and continuous growth.

The world changes. Industries shift. New knowledge emerges. No matter how skilled or intelligent someone is, if they fail to keep learning, adjusting, and staying open to new ideas, they will eventually become outdated.

Ahithophel's downfall was not just about betrayal; it was about what happens when someone builds their life around being indispensable — only to realise that the world can move on without them.

So, the question is: Are you evolving, or are you unknowingly becoming an ‘Ahithophel’?

When I hear people share how they have been doing a lot yet, they do not see the result of their hard work, I wish they can understand that beyond their skills, there are more elements that make up the equation for recording growth in career and business.

If you are not experiencing growth despite putting in the work, you may want to evaluate yourself based on these three metrics:

• What else am I not doing?

• Are my current activities in line with my goals?

• Am I even doing what needs to be done or am I just showing up for showing up sake?

Answer these questions with all sincerity. You will find the lapses that needs to tackled.

Now, let's go further.

A lot of you are putting more time into activities of less importance instead of paying attention to what brings the results you desire. You are everywhere, yet nowhere.

You are also doing everything yourself thus leaving you with no time to think and strategise. You are the A - Z of your business and this is draining you.

One productive hack I embraced in my journey was delegating as much as possible, those things that I can delegate; that don't require my direct efforts. This has helped me focus on the most important tasks and activities over time. With this, I am armed with enough time to think.

You see, I give more time to brainstorming and critical thinking. I have learnt that this is the most effective way to be productive in my career. I learnt to focus on what is important per time. I strategically and intentionally block myself away from the noise and buzz -- just to think.

I am big on 80% strategy and 20% execution.

My brain is stretched and activated to birth ideas with the speed of light. I am immersed in more futuristic and result-oriented activities that demand that I pay little or no attention to non-intellectual conversations. I am able to analyse my activities and know if what I am doing at a particular time is the right thing to do.

I have always reiterated that the fact that you are doing something isn’t a guarantee that you are doing the right thing. The consequences of doing the right thing at the wrong time is that at a point, you will get exhausted. What do you expect from something that isn’t bringing you the results you desire?

If it is not bringing you results, please go back to the drawing board. It is as simple as that!

As much as you can, please review your activities. Take some hours and run a personal analysis on yourself. You will discover that a lot is not counting right. The earlier you decide what is the best to focus on, the better. You will know why you are not getting the results you desire even when you have done all you were asked to do.

If something isn’t going right, pay attention to what isn’t done rightly. This is because I strongly believe that growth comes with time. Every day, traits of growth and expansion should be felt in whatever you do.

If you are not experiencing growth, something is definitely wrong. Work on fixing it.

As a career/business person, you need to have a personal analysis session at least once a month. Evaluate yourself to know your current state and compare it to who you were two or three months ago.

Personal analysis is key. The day I drew a five-year plan for my business, I knew that I needed an active model to help fast track my growth. I began to intentionally build structures, seek superior information and use only strategies that bring results.

This year, strive for the results. Give less time to unimportant things. Focus on the ones that will give your career a facelift and a trajectoric experience. Learn from those who have the results you desire. There is something you are yet to know and until you strive to know it, you will remain where you are.

This year, think better. Plan better. Learn better. Execute. Learn again.

Lest I forget, growth lies in your learning axis. The more you learn, the more you grow.

"Stop lying.
You cannot make such an amount of money by selling online. If it is true, why haven't I made the same amount?"

I have heard statements like this from people who think it is not possible to earn a particular amount of money selling one's expertise, services, products, knowledge, and experience online.

I smile when I hear things like this.
If you think it is not possible to earn multiple figures online, then this letter is for you.

First, you have a limiting mindset. The reason you might be struggling with a certain level of results in your business and career is that you have a wrong mindset and you need to work on it.

A lot of people cannot contain the win they have been seeking for years because their mind is still too small to accommodate such a win. It is the range of your mind that will determine if you will be heard, seen, known and paid.

Secondly, you are just selling your skills, knowledge, experience, service, etc. Stop this. Instead, start selling transformations. The truth is, most of what you know, do or teach can be found on Google but the moment you move from selling something that can be found everywhere and start selling transformation, people will want to pay you.

I learnt this and employed it in my business and today, people pay me not because they don’t see people who charge cheaper but because they are sure of recording a massive leap in their career when I come on board.

You cannot come in contact with me and remain the same. I always say, "Everyone needs a DICTA in their life" and it is what it is. There is this trajectory you record when you come onboard and encounter the #DictaEffect.

Is this a boast?
Maybe yes!

What's my point?
Work on your mindset to see the possibility of earning from your skill. Accept the fact that you are a wealth magnet. Your expertise and competence can bring you that financial leap you desire.

There are people you know better than, but they are earning more than you. This is because they are known, heard, seen and trusted.

Have you ever found yourself in a forest with a dense thicket of thorns blocking your path? What was your first instinct?

Turn back or find a way around it?

Now, imagine if you have someone who has been through the forest many times; they know the twists and turns, the hidden traps, and the shortcuts that can make your journey smoother...

So, when you encounter that dense thicket of thorns blocking your path, you will definitely bank on their wisdom to pass through that path with more confidence.

First, they will encourage you to take a closer look. Instead of immediately retreating, they will give you reasons to think out a way to navigate through the thorns.

And in most cases, there is a tendency that you might not follow their admonition, and may end up with scars or even retreat as earlier thought.

Now, this entire process of thought around this analogy I just shared is called SYSTEMS THINKING.

It presents a clear picture of how we think when faced with situations; do we think in the first-order, second-order and most times, third-order?

First-Order Thinking: The Need

At the surface, there’s a recognition of the need for mentorship. You acknowledge the importance of having someone who can illuminate the path ahead. This is akin to encountering the dense thicket in the forest and realizing you can’t navigate it alone.

However, this is just the beginning. Recognizing the need doesn’t guarantee progress.

Second-Order Thinking: The Approach

Here lies the deeper consideration—how can mentorship be accessed? You begin to deliberate on identifying the right mentors, understanding their areas of expertise, and figuring out how to gain access to their guidance. This stage involves curiosity, strategy, and often courage.

Yet, access is not enough. Many get stuck here, believing that proximity to knowledge is equivalent to transformation.

Third-Order Thinking: The Execution

The final and most crucial layer is execution. This is where the mentee must act—applying the lessons, advice, and insights shared by the mentor. It’s the stage where many falter. Having a mentor does not absolve you of the responsibility to put in the work.

Now, here is the catch...

You might have this person who will show you how to navigate the dense thicket of thorns, but if you do not act on what you are being told, you might end up bruised or even decide to give up.

And this is how I see MENTORSHIP.

There is a first-order thinking to it—I need mentorship.

Second-order thinking—How can I get access to mentors?

Third-order thinking—Am I willing to put in the work to make mentorship work for me?

​The first time I learnt about the importance of Mentorship was in early 2018 when I started becoming intentional about my career and purpose.

Being who I was and still am, I was not in a hurry to call anyone "mentor". In fact, I was reluctant to seek mentorship from any random person.

Back then, I had these questions in my mind:

• Is getting a mentor really important?

• Does it guarantee success?

• Will I fail without a 'mentor'?

So, I found myself trying to know why I really needed a mentor. And when I did find mentors, I made sure to be proof that mentorship works.

You see...

It is one thing to encounter a situation.

It is another thing to seek help and guidance.

It is even a bigger thing to put such help/guidance to use.

And this is why mentorship doesn't work for most people. They may roam around looking for mentors, but as soon as they get one, they become incapacitated to act. They get lazy and wait for the mentor to spoon-feed them.

It is a situation of seeing someone thirsty, taking them to a stream, and still having to force them to drink water.

Or seeing someone who needs help scaling their income, then teaching them how to 'fish' yet, seeing them expecting you to give them fish.

Ó wrong na!

Mentorship is not just about getting to scream online about having a mentor or having to sit and watch another person build their life while you wish to get similar results without you doing any work.

Mentorship is more than a public display.

MENTORSHIP is a DECISION to think out of the box, leveraging all available tools and resources and going the extra mile to attain a double portion of results as against the normal.

Mentorship is more than meets the eye!

It involves the commitment of "the mentored" to work. As you consider mentorship, ensure you activate your second-order thinking. Don't just get access or information and leave them there. Take action!

And one important thing...

Know exactly what you need mentorship on.

I have had people randomly send me a message saying "Please, mentor me". And my next question usually is: "Mentor you on what exactly?".

Before seeking mentorship, be clear about what area of your life you need mentorship in. You cannot be seeking spiritual mentorship from someone who is a business mentor. Also, the fact that someone is popular online doesn't mean they are fit to be your mentor.

Have a template for choosing mentors.

Be sure about who you are reaching out to.

It is unwise to ask me to mentor you in relationships, finance or even spirituality. These are not my core areas; even though I may know something about them, I am not in the best position to offer mentorship on them.

But ask me to share my thoughts on monetising one's knowledge, birthing, launching, growing and scaling ideas, and building systems & structures for brands and business profitability & sustainability... And boom, you are sure to get the best of me.

Now back to the questions I asked myself:

-Is getting a mentor really important?

Yes, mentorship is important.

-Does mentorship guarantee success?

No, the effort of the mentee is needed for success.

-Will I fail without a 'mentor'?

Yes, I may. No, I may not.

Trust me, you do not need to make mistakes when there is someone whose experience you can glean from to navigate your journey. That person is your mentor.

But getting a mentor isn't a walk in the park. If you want a mentor who will facilitate your growth stupendously, then you should be ready to go the extra mile.

Today, take a pen and jotter and write down the names of the people whose mentorship you need in various areas of your life: career, business, life, finance, relationships, network, spirituality, etc.

Next, list out how you can get mentored by them whether directly or indirectly.

Then, make that bold step to initiate the mentorship. If direct, check out the events they will be speaking at or the mentorship programmes they are running. If indirect, check out their resources and drown yourself in them.

Remember, the thicket of life’s challenges will always be there. A mentor can show you the way, but only you can decide to take the steps forward.

The first time I ever painted as a kid, my teacher gave me a plain paper to draw and paint. I held my pencil so tight, unsure of where to start. But soon, lines began to take shape.

They weren’t perfect, and the colours I added spilled outside the lines. Still, it was mine; my own attempt — raw, imperfect expression of my imagination.

Looking back, that moment taught me an important lesson: beginnings are rarely flawless, but they carry the promise of growth and creativity.

Today, I have grown into an adult and I have been handed countless blank canvases to draw ideas into reality. How have I done so far? Measurably, so well, if I must say.

Now, here is what a fresh start looks like.

This year, I am picking up my metaphorical pencil again, ready to draw and paint a new picture of my life. It won’t be perfect, and I’ll probably spill colors outside the lines... but it will be authentic, intentional, and mine.

A fresh start means letting go of fear—the fear of failing, of not getting it “right” the first time. It’s about showing up anyway, creating boldly, and embracing every stroke you paint and every mistake you make as part of the masterpiece in progress.

It’s about redefining how I see challenges—not as obstacles, but as opportunities to experiment and refine my vision. It’s about taking that plain paper life has handed me this year and turning it into something vibrant and meaningful.

This year, let’s begin with intention. Take a moment to ask yourself:

- What do I truly want from 2025?

- What habits, mindsets, or relationships do I need to cultivate?

- What am I leaving behind to make space for what matters most?

Growth doesn’t have to be a giant leap; sometimes, it’s in the micro-actions we take daily.

Take that walk.

Learn that skill.

Yesterday was my birthday!

And as usual, I spent the better part of my day on reflection. Scratch that... I always look forward to this day because of the loads of love and kindness I receive in the form of gifts and kind gestures.

But while I love the kind gestures and gifts that come with this celebration, I also cherish the reflection that happens on this day.

As I reflected yesterday, a word from the Scripture caught my attention: Matthew 5:14-16...

"You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."

And this struck a cord even more...

For context, I have spent most of my 20s juggling multiple roles—building skills, launching initiatives, and pursuing dreams that felt monumental. I often thought I was already shining my light, making an impact, and fulfilling my purpose.

But as I read this Scripture, I was reminded that being a "light of the world" isn't just about doing a lot; it's about how your deeds illuminate others' paths and bring glory to God.

It made me pause and ask:

• Is my light truly visible to others?

• Am I intentional about placing it on a stand for others to see, or am I sometimes hiding it under a bowl of self-doubt, fear, or even complacency?

This reflection led me to reevaluate not just the quantity of what I do but the quality and purpose behind it. Am I inspiring others? Am I creating ripples of transformation in the lives I touch? Because that's the essence of shining your light—living in a way that points others toward hope, growth, and God’s glory.

You see, it is one thing to exist and another thing to live. Those who truly live are those who shine their light and illuminate the path of others.

You have a light within you that is waiting to shine bright and illuminate the world around you. It's a light that can transform lives and inspire others to become the best versions of themselves. Yet, there may be times when you feel like dimming your light and hiding your true potential.

Maybe you're afraid of what others might think of you, or you're not sure if you're ready to step into the spotlight. But I'm here to tell you that you should not dim your light, but instead, ensure you shine it brightly.

Your message and unique perspective have the power to change lives. Your experiences, skills and passions can be a guiding light for others who are struggling in their journey. When you share your message and use your voice, you create a ripple effect that can positively impact many lives.

Dimming your light can hold you back from reaching your full potential. It can prevent you from achieving your goals and dreams, and it can also limit your impact on the world. When you hold back and play small, you're denying yourself and others the chance to see your greatness.

You have a responsibility to shine your light and share your message with the world. It's not about being perfect or having all the answers. It's about being authentic, vulnerable, and willing to share your story and message with others.

Today, I encourage you to step into your power and let your light shine bright. Be proud of who you are, and use your unique voice to inspire and transform lives. Remember, the world needs your light, and by shining it, you can make a real difference in the lives of others.

This is a gentle nudge to do more, not for validation but for impact, and to let your life be a beacon, no matter how small the flame may seem.

Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year!

I told one of my handsome admirers that a man who hangs around a woman for long without saying anything to her, ends up fetching water at her wedding.

The next thing he did shocked me down to my bone marrow. As I type this, I can't believe he took that bold step.

A few days ago, I was working on a project when it occurred to me that 2024, with all the shege it showed singles like us, is ending in a few days?

But here is even a more exciting fact;

The people who will win in 2025 are getting prepared already. They are not waiting for January before they start planning.

Those with big money goals like me are already doing what needs to be done to attract this money. Setting money goals is very important.

My idea about money changed when I discovered a secret: Making money is not hard.

In fact, making money is the simplest thing to do.

But getting the right knowledge and information to achieve this is actually the most difficult and boring thing to do... And people don't want to do boring things.

It is boring to write to attract clients who can pay premium.

It is boring to build a personal brand that attracts the people who have the money to pay you.

It is boring to build the right audiences who know, like and trust you and can give you their money (just like they do to me).

It is boring to launch a brand and position it for massive recognition and profitability.

It is boring to set big goals and map out strategies to hit those goals.

You know why?

People love the results but only a few are willing to put in the work.

Second reason: Talk is cheap.

There are people who are waiting for December 31st so they can lament about how 2024 was not their year... Then they go on to set new goals every January.

This has become a cycle for most people.

My only concern is that they have big goals they want to smash but lack the tools and information to make those goals a reality.

These people have the skills and expertise it takes to become a highflyer in 2025 but...

They continue the cycle...

That sad cycle of being talented yet broke.

I know this because I have been here;

I was that person who knows how to write mind-blowing content and stories, yet broke. I was so good that people were coming to my inbox to ask me how I do this.

But like you know, being good is not enough. If the money is not coming, you are on your own. If you are not growing, something is wrong.

My concern is that you shouldn't be struggling with hitting your goals, especially your money goals.

You are so good; scrap that...

You are exceptionally good!!!

But you are broke.

You struggle to earn with your skills.

You show up online every day but it's looking like this thing is not working.

You watch others like you winning at this but it isn't the same for you. You truly wish it was you.

You look at yourself as the year goes by, wondering why you have not been able to crack this code.

And just like others, you sing "Money na water" but true true, the tap is blocked on your end.

But then, the money is here.

Here, online! And there are people mining it.

Let me be real with you.

I’m not here to sugarcoat reality or sprinkle motivation.

Motivation is good, but let's be frank, at least, for now that I am not writing you my typical love letters. LOL!

You see, what you need to thrive in any field/industry is a strategy. One strategy can catapult you to a realm of massive results that you may not recover from.

*Not me speaking like a Pastor. LOL!

So, yes. One strategy can bring you that long-anticipated growth you desire. But there is a formula needed for this strategy to materialise.

The formula is simple:

• Find a starving crowd.

• Solve their problem via products/services.

• Bring value to the table, and watch the money flow to you.

Because here’s the truth:

Money goes where value resides.

So, what value are you bringing to the marketplace?

Your skill?

Your talent?

Your expertise?

Your knowledge?

When you answer that question, you’re already halfway to your breakthrough. You will find yourself making bigger moves in 2025.

Don't be like the man I shared about at the beginning of this post who is aware of what he wants but would not take action. I don't know if it's because he is shy...

Sadly, he will watch another man take that woman, just like you watch others take action and win in their career and business.

He will be shocked when the woman sends him her wedding IV, just like you get surprised when you see others smashing their goals and you feel bad.

Each time I train creatives and business owners, I hear a lot of them say this. They also ask if they should continue with what they are doing or change their niche. For most of them, they are still at the pre-clarity level and as such, may not be clear about their path.

One piece of advice I give to them is, always be open to embracing new paths. I understand that you attended a training session where you were asked to stick to one path long enough. It may also be that you are trying to do something related to what you studied in school.

This is not wrong, but you must be sure that that path you are sticking to is sustainable. You must be sure that your choice of niche doesn't leave you at the lower point of the pyramid in the grand scheme of things.

If you want to grow, be open to learning, unlearning and relearning. That path you are in now may not be the path that suits your next level. Don't get stuck in it because you want to claim "consistency".

Here is my definition of consistency;

Being able to stay on a "progressive" path for a longer time and successfully transcending to another level while "leveraging" the knowledge and experience of the earlier path.

So you see, consistency comes with innovation. You must move to show progress and you must be focused to prove consistency. Activity without progress is zero!

When I pivoted into Strategy Consulting and got a role with a tech firm that offers web development and software services, I was marvelled by the results we got in a matter of weeks.

One myth most people have been fed with is that their virginity will bring the best people and opportunities to them. They pride themselves in their virginity and ignore the major aspects -- principles that make for assured success.

You see, it is not enough to have a vision; you must also possess the wisdom, knowledge, and foresight to execute it effectively.

In the world of business and innovation, the difference between success and failure often lies in the details—the planning, the research, the ability to anticipate challenges and have solutions at the ready.

If you step into the terrain without preparing and fortifying yourself with the right information, you will fall into the trap of unassuming preys who will feast on your naivety. This is why building capacity is important.

Those who take the time to fill their lamps with the oil of knowledge, mentorship, and strategic planning are the ones who will see their dreams realised. They are the wise virgins who will enter the feast, ready and prepared for the opportunities that await.

Have I filled my lamp?

Part of my ritual every morning is to reflect deeply on what will be of me and my name when I am no more. I ask myself, “IJ, what's the next 70+ years going to be like and what will people say of your legacy?”

And to justify my thoughts, I begin to recount all I have done and plan to do. This ritual launched me into my BUILD. CREATE. SCALE Ideology.

And it is a simple ideology which states:

Build something.

Create something.

Scale something.

It could be:

• Books.

• Courses.

• School.

• Newsletters.

• Talkshows.

• Podcasts.

• Events.

• Software.

• Agency.

• Company.

• Startup.

Just do something!

Here is something more… If you are confused about all you read up there, then the remaining part of this Love Letter is for you.

You have the capacity to birth ideas and lead worthy causes. Sadly, there are a lot more doubts about your capacity because you have written yourself off. And that's because your mind is occupied with a lot of things.

Take sometime off the loudness and boisterousness of life and watch how you will flourish with ideas.

The reason you think every other person is better than you is that you have gotten so busy that you no longer have time to reflect. Sadly, you are busy watching others do what they do.

You have the capacity to birth ideas and invent solutions. You just need to reflect deeply and activate that consciousness that allows you to be inventive, creative and innovative.

You can't achieve this if you don't discover YOU first. And you can't discover yourself when you are out there watching others.

Take a break from the loudness. Take a break from the noise. If you are like me who loves solitude, find one place that grants you this and spend more time there.

You will discover that you will get even better at birthing, creating and scaling ideas.

The reason you find this difficult at this moment is that you are too occupied and busy -- watching others.

Not anymore!

It is your time to birth, create and scale.

When I was about to send this email, I wasn't sure if this would suffice as a Love Letter, but being that I have been neck-deep in work, planning YAMA Convention 2024, Abuja, I decided to just go ahead and share it with you.

So, when I negotiate with clients at CWIN Africa, they don't fail to remind me that I love money. LOL! This line has become a jingle for some of our clients but here is the catch...

They will always add that they are not afraid of paying because they are sure that they are getting an absolute return on investment for their money. The excellence we exude, the attention to detail and the unreserved commitment we bring to the table when handling projects are part of what they hold onto.

It's not just about our clients. You can see this even in my personal projects. The quality and excellence I give to my work are enough to get any leader and business owner who desires to build a solid personal brand/presence and business online desire to connect with me and hire me as their strategist.

It is not cho-cho-cho. I have practically built a digital business that has and currently serves thousands of individuals, brands and organisations.

This week, we onboarded two international clients on a retainership for our Digital Assets Management services. As I write this, one of them is still singing "IJ, you love money," yet they are adding more services to their list of deliverables and paying for them.

I don't know the lesson you want to pick from this but here are some lessons for you:

1. Be A Person Of Results: I promised myself never to teach anything or offer a service for which I do not have verifiable results. Before I started teaching the Art & Business of Writing, I had written hundreds of articles and sealed deals in 6 figures. Before teaching the Art & Business of Book Publishing, I had written two books and made 6 figures in sales. Today, I have 21 books to my name.

Same thing for my coaching and mentorship programmes. Deciding to create the professional certificate programmes at CWIN Certification Institute and the CPB Academy at The Millionaire School of Profit was because I have recorded results.

I have built and launched a business using my creative digital skills. These are what you will learn when you sign up for any the professional certificate programmes. I have gone ahead to monetise my knowledge and create multiple streams of income in my industry. These are what I teach at CPB Academy.

So simple! People pay me to replicate my results with and for them.

2. Embody The Value You Offer: The first point of attraction for most of our clients at CWIN Africa is my value. Imagine having to attract more clients to my business brand because of the value I exude with my personal brand.
It is called "The Dicta Effect".

You see, I preach excellence and people see it in what I do. They want the same and are willing to pay for it. I have had clients hire me for their book projects just because of how beautiful my book covers are.

Yes, we have a full-blown design unit at CWIN Africa, so it is awkward not to have beautiful designs for my works. I also design some of my fliers. I know, you won't believe that 60% of designs used for my personal brand are done by me (Story for another day).

What's my point?

Embody the value you offer. I cannot pay you to manage my social media pages when yours is looking wack and unprofessional. I cannot pay you as a graphic designer when you do not have a simple cover design on your profile. Do that thing for yourself before offering to do it for others.

3. People Will Pay More For Value: I know you have heard this over and over again, but hear it now. People will pay more when you prove to be a person of value.

I run a full-scale digital management company and it is beautiful to see people hire us for our writing services, and go ahead to hire us for branding, multimedia and digital assets management.

In one of our client's voice, "The peace of mind you offer at CWIN Africa is everything". The fact that we do well in one is enough reason to have them trust us to handle more.

Just one experience, and they want more.

My point?
Be so good at what you do. Embody great work ethic. Show your results. Embody the value you offer. Then say your charge. We will pay.

Value, indeed, appeals!

When I was about to go further with tertiary education, I wrote the mandatory UTME and came out with a good result but not good enough to get admitted into my choice of course and school.

I told my dad about it and he advised that I have a change of institution since it was a federal university and the competition was high there. I ignored my dad's advice and went ahead with the itinerary of admissions for my first choice. Alas, I didn't get admitted that year. I was pained because I had a good result and I prepared so hard for that process.

My dad knew the issues that surround getting admitted into federal schools because he has been on the helm of affairs for his relations who have been there. Most of his nieces and nephews were in university at that time and he had first-hand information about how these things work.

"Change the choice of school so that you will stand a chance of getting admitted" but I insisted that it was my first choice or nothing. Did I later get my first choice? No. Did I change to the school he was advising me to change to? Yes, two years after opting for a Diploma program.

Life is full of lessons and in our everyday activities, it is important that we gradually pick up these lessons and grow with them. I might not have been emotionally and intellectually mature at that time to know if what my dad was saying was fact or if I was insisting on attending that particular institution because most of my peers said that was their choice too.

Today, I am better knowledgeable to know when to act on advice or not. But the effect of my mistake in the past left me with lessons I would love to share with you today.

In any journey you are about to embark on, always look out for those who know better and seek their knowledge before running into the road. You do not know how much time and stress you save for yourself when you listen to someone who has walked the walk or who have experience show you how.

I experienced a delay in my academic pursuit because of a single act of negligence and inadherence to a piece of advice which had no atom of harm or damage to my career path. Today, I wonder why I paid deaf ears to my dad.

My dad is someone who would advise you to do something and leave you to your choice. He believes in independent implementation; guess that's why we all strive to get things right without his control.

Whenever I remember this case, I resolve within me never to ignore words of knowledge and wisdom from my dad and those who know better. Sadly enough, I still didn't study my choice of course even though I attended the school I was advised to change to the first time.

A lot of people get stuck in their life's journey because they either didn't seek advice or didn't implement the advice gotten. I have seen people who have got all the information and knowledge needed for a path they wish to take ignore that information to their peril.

Again, seek expert's advice when you want to embark on a project. When you get that advice, implement it. Do not feel you know better because if you do, you wouldn't have asked them for help in the first place.

My dad does not fail to remind me of my mistake each time he senses that I am about to veer off the track again. His constant reminder keeps me on my toes, reminding me that if I fail to act on succinct advice and directions from those who thought it well to let me in on what they know, I will fail and of course, bite my fingers in regret.

Learn to do the right thing.

Listen to your mentors and coaches. Listen to people who know more than you as regards business and career. Seek experts’ insights.

You get to your destination faster when you listen to those who have gone ahead of you.

They are your visionary guides. The journey gets clearer and faster with them because, of course, you now see through their lenses.
