This question: “do you actually like what you are buying” came into being when I found myself on my usual 8:30pm Net A Porter doom scroll. The endless sea of products. Thousands of pieces, lots of prints, texture and colour, but absolutely nothing I want to buy. Ok, of course there are things I want to buy. But, what I mean is that the things I do want to buy are completely out of my budget. The items that are within my budget I find myself questioning whether or not I actually like them. I mean this on a serious level. What is the point of buying clothes you aren’t 100% sold on?

Why do we even buy clothes?

To get philosophical for a minute, why do we even buy clothes? Well, ultimately everyone needs clothes. You can’t just walk out into the street wearing nothing (there are of course some exceptions). As humans, we have to dress ourselves everyday. Even if you don’t consider yourself to be a “fashion person”, each day you make an active decision about what to dress yourself in.

I know that I get up most days and unfortunately repeat the outfit from the day before. Unless I have an event to go to or a specific occasion I hold my hand up and admit: I am a chronic outfit repeater. But hey, that is ok and I’m not shaming anyone (or myself for this). I have this toxic trait where I will buy a new piece of clothing and wear it almost everyday until I get bored of it and never wear it again…

It takes a lot for me to actually commit to buying something. Not to mention that I have severe decision paralysis and buyers remorse. That’s exactly what I mean when I ask the question “do you actually like what you are buying?”.

What are you buying?

You may be familiar with the term “AI slop” which according to Wikipedia is “low-quality, low-effort digital content produced in high volume by artificial intelligence”. I now present you with “fashion slop”.

“Fashion slop” is what I define as “the overwhelming homogeneity of fast fashion, elevated high street and luxury fashion which is exacerbated by social media’s need for newness and trends”. I think (and I hope you agree) that a lot of the things we are buying are because we are influenced. Influenced by an influencer, creator, editor, YouTuber or even friend. It’s inevitable. We are only human. But, when you scroll your Instagram feed and come across your favourite influencer sharing their latest fashion obsession, it’s hard not to question whether or not it would look great in your wardrobe. So, you pull the trigger, click their link and after a couple of days, the item arrives neatly packaged at your front door. You unbox it and wear it. But, ask yourself “do you actually like it?”.

This week I am coming to you with some real goodies. A fore-mention to the new Sézane canvas collection which, along with the rest of the internet has been a major hit. This however is the only item I revelled in from their new rebrand. The rest of the collection has fallen flat and proven to be uninspiring and lacklustre. That being said, there are some other goodies in today’s post, most importantly the most delicious purple knit from COS. , Who What Wear editor, and I are most definitely aligned on this item and its longevity for the season ahead. Without further ado, lets dive in!

1. Sézane Canvas Tote

I know I mentioned this in my preamble, but if you weren’t aware, Sézane had a rebrand and its received mixed feedback. Some critics are calling the rebrand an excuse for a price increase. One commenter remarked that they want to have “COS designs with Doen prices”. Whilst I do agree that the brand is trying to enter a higher market, promising curated monthly drops, I am sceptical about their proposal. They need to make sure they aren’t producing bland, shapeless pieces with quality that doesn’t match the prices. They once used to be the chic Parisian brand every Londoner (and American tourist alike) would revel in visiting and buying beautiful pieces from. Their knitwear collection was timeless and well made, but also well priced. One of my favourite ever cardigan's is a gorgeous red number which has served me very well over the years.

But, I’m not here to slander the rebrand because there was one piece which I could not pass on. The canvas tote bags were a major hit, literally selling out completely on the day of the launch. I have been searching for a while for a canvas tote bag, with notable mentions to the Kallmeyer tote, Jenni Kayne, Rue de Verneuil and Senso.

This Sézane number is really great though and funnily enough, well priced! It fits an awful lot inside and can be worn over the shoulder. I desperately wanted the black one but I was too slow…It comes in two different sizes with the larger being in stock still, so act fast.

2. Massimo Dutti Leopard Tote

Another bag mention today. This time its for this insane Massimo Dutti leopard tote bag (the mini version) which I think should be top of everyone’s list. I went to see this IRL and guys, it really is as good as it looks, if not better. This comes off the back of my obsession last season with Aflalo’s hideously expensive leopard print, pony hair coat. This Massimo number is basically that but in a bag form. I can picture this going with every outfit, taking you from day to night.

I also love how it comes in two sizes which, seems to be the thing of the moment. Actually, Massimo Dutti is really winning this season. You guys absolutely loved their moc-croc slippers (over 3k clicks wtf) so I know you will love this bag just as much.

3. Cou Cou x Sandy Liang

It would not be a 7 Things for 7 Days post without a collaboration. Yes, I am a collaboration slut, sue me!! But, when two iconic brands merge I simply have to give it a feature. Cou Cou intimates is the underwear all the cool girls are wearing and swear by. The collection features 5 items, from pyjamas to pointelle tanks and briefs, I need every item in this collection. Sandy Liang is also known for her New York “downtown coquette” aesthetic. Her pieces have cute bows and nostalgic nods to childhood, feminine references. I also really love commitment to responsibly sourced materials, using on the best cotton which makes for the softest pieces.

4. Lie Studio Lee Sunglasses

I am on the hunt for a new pair of sunglasses. Unfortunately, the pair I really want are always sold out: the Thistles Atlas. I have however found a very similar pair which are equally as good. The style which has taken the season by storm is the “wrap around effect” frame, giving a sort of goggle-like appearance. Lie Studio is a Danish brand more famously known for its gorgeous hair accessories such as this metal hair pin and tote bags.

The Lee sunglasses are quite honestly perfect and a really reasonable price for a high quality, timeless product. They come in three shades: a black, light tortoiseshell and dark tortoiseshell.

5. Crushed Velvet Jeans

Inspired by recent note regarding crushed velvet/ corduroy jeans, I too have become obsessed with this autumnal wardrobe staple. I think its fun to switch it up in autumn, away from the dark denim and black jeans. A pair of corduroy jeans or crushed velvet are a chic way to elevate a look. Paired with a simple white t shirt or cashmere sweater and ankle boot, this feels like a really solid fall outfit.

I love these from Jeanerica; the blue, grey corduroy would look great with a loafer or boot. Equally, Citizens of Humanity do a delicious chocolate brown barrel leg pair which are currently on sale. For an 80s inspired look, these black velvet jeans from Veronica Beard are excellent.

6. COS Purple Jumper

Ok so if you follow me on Instagram you would know that this next item has become my new personality. I am not even kidding when I say that this Cos purple jumper is my new favourite item. I’m not alone in thinking this as I am twinning with , and Flossie Strickland. I think that this royal purple, as mentioned in a previous post, is the colour of the season, along with turquoise. There is something so regal and sumptuous about this purple and this jumper definitely agrees with this notion.

What I really love about this Cos jumper is the double layered v-neck giving it the layered illusion. I also appreciate that it isn’t cashmere but instead merino wool- an excuse for the moths in my closet to not attack it…

I have been wearing mine with a white t-shirt underneath and jeans. This simple formula has proven to work well in my opinion. But, equally you could pair it with a kick-flare work pant or even a leather midi skirt for an elevated work look.

7. Sestini Sunglasses

Finally, another sunglass mention as like I said, I am on the hunt for a new pair. This brand is actually new to me. I popped into the optician shop at 176 Kings Road, and the incredibly helpful assistant showed me this insane pair of sunglasses which I originally mistook for JMM (Jacques Marie Mage). I love JMM: they are one of a kind (literally) investment pieces, but this means they come at a cost. The Ryder silhouette is seriously cool. Sestini is a step down. They are all custom, hand made in Italy and also produced in limited batches. This is what makes the quality incredible and the lenses crystal clear. I tried on this pair which are an investment, but definitely not in the same realm as JMM. They are only stocked at Harrods and this store, so I would highly recommend visiting if you are in the market for a new pair of specs.

I will begin by highlighting , now based in NY but originally from Los Angeles. Her recent collaboration with Reformation is evidence that her influence and style is industry recognised. The collection is a treasure trove of eclectic pieces, from a pair of blue satin sandals to a two piece crochet set, it’s clear that the collection is expertly curated. Whilst Courtney is by definition an influencer, she is also a curator. She curates a selected edit and is discerning about what she shares.

Another tastemaker/curator is the genius behind Earl Irl. Her Beverly Hills boutique is a true gem. The buy is flawless. She really has a very well trained eye, reflected in her curation featuring Cahu bags to Arma leather jackets and Herbert Levine shoes. Something which an influencer promoting Princess Polly or Zara could never achieve.

Not all taste makers or curators exist within the fashion industry. For example, is the founder of Doing Well (her wellness platform) and an integrative health coach. Her tagline is as follows, “98% vintage, 2% The Row. Luckily for us she is on ShopMy and as expected, her recommendations are next to none. Her closet is an assortment of The Real Real and Desert Vintage finds which she shares on Instagram.

Returning to Laurel Pantin of Earl IRL, I think we sadly are in a very bad shopping time. The death of the department store has once again returned to mainstream media with the recent acquisition of Harvey Nichols. For Americans, this is a similar situation to Saks. I won’t bore you with the details of the Frasers’ acquisition or how the head honcho, Mike Ashley is going to kill HN in the same way he killed Matches. But, it is worth noting that there are far and few well curated stores, not just in London but globally.

Matches Fashion was a prime example of how a physical brick and mortar store excelled in providing the savvy, fashionable customer with new and exciting brands. The buyers were incredible at selecting the young brands and the products within their collections. I remember the Matches Fashion Wimbledon store being so well curated. From the way the tables were displayed with neatly folded The Row scarves, interspersed with Loewe Flow Runner sneakers and grey t-shirts from their namesake brand RAEY (RIP).

Now Harvey Nichols is Mike Ashley’s next victim, it marks an important point in fashion right now: the death of curation. Because Harvey Nichols in recent years did have a genuinely great curation. Particularly on their third floor, where Lisa Yang, RÓHE, Toteme and Bode all lived. It was a really good retail experience. It makes me sad that stores, seemingly with potential, go under…

So, how do we move forward and find curators, taste-makers and a good curation? I think there are a couple of things. As consumers of media (Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, magazines etc) we have to become more selective about what we actually consume. Who we follow. What we buy. It’s easy to be influenced by a “new in Zara haul” urging you to run to buy an item which will most likely sell out, but also be fashioned on every single other human. We need to be more curious. Immerse ourselves in culture: visit galleries, travel, watch films. I understand I am coming at this from a slightly privileged lens, but I’m talking about finding other sources of inspiration that we can curate into our own form of style.

Visit the vintage shops. Spend hours sifting and sorting through piles of denim, browsing Vestiaire, Vinted, The Real Real. Understand what you do and don’t like and why.

I try my best to offer a curated selection of clothes and outfits which you, as my audience can enjoy and be inspired by. I’m not going to share the same Mango or H&M jacket as everyone else is. I want to share brands you have never heard of. Products you have never seen. Jewellery which is so different from the same boring tennis necklace, you end up saving up your next pay cheque just to buy it. That’s curation. And that’s what we need to find again.

Here in London, it is still sweltering. The weather is showing absolutely no sign of cooling down whatsoever. Which is sort of good and bad. I may be one of the rare people who is slightly over this now fifth heatwave and getting excited for autumn. It of course would not be a substack post of mine, if I did not discuss the weather, because I am a true British person, and talking about the weather is sort of engrained into everyone’s DNA. It’s just what we do. We talk about the weather.

Speaking of the weather and the fact that we are now in August, I am getting excited about autumn, and the pieces that I will be introducing into my wardrobe. I actually went into Cos yesterday and did a one over. There were some really amazing pieces, which I will be sharing in another article, doing a pre-fall round up so you can be prepared when the real autumn finally arrives. One of the pieces in Cos that I really loved was this gorgeous royal purple jumper. Royal purple is actually number five on today’s list. I think it’s such a gorgeous colour, and last season, there was an incredible, Lisa Yang royal purple knit which I spotted on Net-A-Porter and had my eye on for a very long time. More on that later.

1. COS Leather jacket

Like I mentioned in the pre-amble I did a quick one over in Cos. There are certain brands that are made for seasons: Cos is made for autumn and winter. Other brands such as Dôen are made for summer. That being said, I noticed the most incredible leather boxy cropped-ish jacket, perfect for autumn and transitioning into winter months. What I really loved about this specific jacket is the fact it is real leather and a very good price for that. Also the shape. I find it so hard to nail fit, especially on the high street. Going up a size means sacrificing the shoulders, but sizing down looses the “boxy” fit. The size I tried on was a 34 which fitted perfectly, albeit slightly too big in the shoulders. With a chunky knit underneath I reckon you could definitely get away with it!

If you can’t find the jacket online (currently waitlisted), I have found some other really great options at all price points. This other COS one is great- the croc effect makes it great for adding texture to an outfit. I also have this ARMA Emy jacket on my wishlist, and have done for quite some time. The leather is butter soft and the silhouette is perfection. Nour Hammour can never do wrong, especially this delicious merlot colour. Frame also make a really great one here.

2. Suri Toothbrush

Upon returning from my Croatian trip I was so excited to receive the new Suri Toothbrush. I hope that in 2026 we are all using electric toothbrushes (if not, seriously thats gross). Admittedly I have always felt frustrated by the constant flux of Suri ads pushed every time I watched a YouTube video. However, when they kindly gifted me my very own I was excited to investigate the hype for myself. And yes, I can confidently say that the Suri toothbrush really is worth it.

We spend obscene amounts of money of our skincare and also haircare, but do we really pay the same attention (or financial attention) to our oral/ dental routine? I have been using the same Oral B electric toothbrush for too many years and whilst it did the job it really doesn’t compare to the Suri. Everything about Suri is chic, from the design to the charging case and even the silent hum it makes in your mouth. Yes, the Suri is worth it and no, I will not stop brushing my teeth or settle for anything less ever again. You can shop the very same one I have here.

3. Fringed Prada Sandals

As you all know I love to people watch. This is something that like I take very seriously. I am always keeping a watchful eye on who is wearing what and how. My latest people watching spot was a woman sporting the most incredible Prada tassel sandals. The Prada Shuffle Thong Slippers are arguably the chicest pair of sandals I have seen for a while. That being said, I will always hold a special place for my other favourite Tory Burch beaded sandal. This specific pair are from a previous season, but have been re-invented in a mule style here. You can however find a pair on Ebay which I am currently adding to my endless watchlist. The mule actually makes sense now we are in August and slowly transitioning away from open toe sandals. A worthy investment if you ask me!

4. Cord Necklace

I love jewellery. I would even go as far as saying I collect it. Different cities, different markets, the whole lot- I buy a piece and it serves as a special memory or even to mark an occasion. For me, the summer months provide a perfect excuse to switch up your usual stack and have a bit more fun. Playing around with texture, colour, length and style. Sparked by another one of my many loves, Dorsey’s cord necklace is probably the chicest one out there. The dainty charm that glistens against the rope cord is just beautiful.

This trend for the “cord” necklace really inspired my to DIY my own. Funnily enough it happened by mistake when my father was unpacking his camping gear and unravelled a long piece of paracord. The electric blue caught my eye and with a snip of some siscorrs I had just acquired some new material to make my very own. I had an odd charm lying around which I threaded onto the cord, et voila!

5. Royal Purple

Last season I came across the most incredible, sumptuous, delectable royal purple knit by Lisa Yang. Ever since I have become increasingly into the colour royal purple. And, whilst the other trending colour turquoise blue (discussed in my July faves post here) is creeping up, I will continue to make a stand for royal purple. There is something so luxurious and sumptuous about this colour. A couple of seasons ago, Burberry heavily featured royal purple in their collection, from coats to knitwear and shoes.

Whilst I was in COS and aside from the insane leather jacket discussed earlier, this heavenly royal purple knit caught my attention. Very affordably priced at £35, this long-sleeve top will be making its way into my closet very soon. Equally, the v-neck merino wool sweater in royal purple will look great layered and paired with a classic black tailored pant or vintage Levis. Some other purple pieces I love are here, here, here and here.

6. Frame x Sothebys

I’ll admit it. I am a collaboration whore. If you have read previous posts, you would know that most 7 Things for 7 Days feature some sort of collaboration. Today’s is no exception. Two creative houses unite for this collaboration: Frame x Sotheby’s. This is actually their second collaboration, following on from the success of last years. The whole idea of the concept is to reimagine the preppy vibe of Frame through Sotheby’s contemporary lens. I think the collection does just that. The collection is described as “a collaboration that brings together two cultural forces through craft, heritage and timeless style.”

The collection is comprised of 29 pieces, ranging from baseball caps to tote bags and cashmere sweaters. What could be more chic? I have my eye on the lemon yellow baseball cap which sadly is priced at a tragic £130…That being said, I love the cashmere sweater and navy sweatshirt which all feel very preppy and on brand.

7. American Vintage Boyfriend T

At number 7 we have the American Vintage boyfriend t-shirt. I have been searching far and wide for the perfect long sleeve white crewneck t shirt because I think pieces like these serve as workhorses in your closet. I have tried on many-a white t-shirt and surprisingly, the mens one in AV almost ticked all the boxes. I need it to be butter soft, but not too sheer and certainly not too thick. Equally, it has to be the right level of oversized to the point where it doesn’t drown me or look too long in the torso or big in the shoulders. Some other favourites I have discovered are this one from Eaves, a Renggli number, Navy Grey here, Flore Flore and Massimo Dutti.

I have always held the belief, in part due to my father’s style, that hiking means wearing the most horrific technical gear purchased from some sporting outlet made for 60+ year olds. This however, could not be further from the truth. I can reference high fashion brands such as Miu Miu who have created the chicest outdoor gear, including a very cute pair of “technical” (using that term loosely) shorts.

This whole notion of hiking really came to be after Gorpcore became a term everyone is hopefully now familiar with. For those who aren’t, Gorpcore is defined as a fashion trend in which outerwear typically designed for outdoor recreation is worn as streetwear. Basically, wearing functional clothing in a non-functional setting/ way. But, I am caveating this by saying the items I am sharing should be worn outside and amid the mountains, goats and foliage. There are definitely brands such as Salomon and Oakely who lean more toward the fashion side. That being said, there are plenty of other items which will guaruntee maximum style on the mountains.

Much to my father’s delight, I am trying to be convinced to go camping and hiking with him. The hiking part I can get behind but the camping might take some persuading. After all, is really sleeping on a mat inside a sleeping bag all its cracked up to be?!

As you know, I love any excuse to buy new items regardless of the occasion. For me each item can equally be worn individually outside of a “hiking” activity or environment. For example, the Toteme jacket would look amazing paired with a classic pair of Levis like these and a kitten heel boot. Similarly, the Miu Miu shorts could be paired with a sandal like these from Flowze, a linen shirt and a basket bag. All of these pieces are interchangeable and don’t require the excuse of a camping trip or hiking route to be worn. Thats the beauty of fashion after all: its about how you as an individual wear the pieces, together or as their own entity. I hope this gives you some much needed inspo whether you are hiking in the Dolomites or simply “hiking” to your favourite coffee shop.

1. Medik8

I couldn’t do a July faves without featuring some skincare. I am a firm believer that investing/ spending money on skincare is honestly worth it and your ROI will always be high. That being said there are caveats and high-street heroes, but thats not what I’m sharing today. Converted by my mother who, at her age (I will not disclose) looks incredible and has always invested heavily in expensive skincare and good skincare. One of her favourite brands is Medik8 which I am now a huge fan of.

There are a couple of products which I now cannot live without. One of these being the new Advanced Collagen Peptide Cream. This is a super rich and hydrating cream which I use as part of my night-time routine. I am also a huge huge fan of the Exo Pdrn Prismatic + serum which I use two to three times a week as its quite intense, especially for younger skin. Equally the Hydr8 B5 Intense serum is amazing and I use this morning and night. They currently have an amazing 20% off sale going on until the 1st of August so act quick!

2. Wiggy Kit dress

I was fortunate enough to be gifted the most insane dress which I need to find the perfect occasion to wear too. The dress is by UK based brand Wiggy Kit who recently hosted an incredible dinner in the Hamptons where all guests looked fabulous and incredibly chic. The Bay Dress is a mega mega silk printed one shoulder maxi dress. This is well and truly a statement piece. I would style this in multiple ways. For a less dressed-up vibe I would pair with a simple pair of sandals, Liffner clutch and jewellery like these earrings, or these. Equally a dainty necklace would look amazing- my favourites are here and here. For an elevated occasion I would style the dress with a killer summer mule; I have forever loved the Khaite sandals but these are also great. As for accessories, the dress really is the hero but a little gold clutch here and here would work super well. I am in love with the Dorsey Corsica collection, so a necklace or bracelet would look perfect.

3. Silk scarves

If you follow me on Instagram (which if you’re not wtf!!) then you would have noticed my obsession with head scarves. I actually disclosed this love in a recent interview with Woven founder Jess, where I featured a really cool red headscarf from Gigi Burris in collaboration with (founder and editor of the Love List). However, the headscarves I have been wearing are from Hermes and Palome. This accessory feels like the perfect summer antidote, suitable for any outfit from a city look to the beach where all we are wearing is a bikini. A bandana style scarf will always be cool and of course who could forget back in winter when the Kujten cashmere scarf was the “it item”. If I had a pound for every time I spotted someone in London with one of these I would be very rich by now!!

4. Turquoise Blue

Turquoise blue is my prediction for the next it colour. Agree with me or don’t but I keep getting fed images of all things turquoise. From turquoise cars to bags and cashmere sweaters, there are no limits. Picture this: a turquoise blue cashmere sweater, black silk midi shorts, ballet flats (or loafers like these on sale) and The Row Dalia bag. Funnily enough, the girl sat next to me on the plane is wearing a pair of turquoise blue linen pants. Call it fate if you will.

I found some great turquoise blue pieces such as this sweater. Chanel actually did a full turquoise blue look which was what sparked this deep dive into all things turquoise. I will also caveat this by saying navy blue is making a comeback, declared by the fashion queen . I trust anything she says as gospel so do what you want with that piece of information.

5. Chanel Ballet Flats

I will be starting a new job at the beginning of August which I am so so so excited about (keep your eyes peeled). As a sort of celebration and present to myself because why the hell not, I have been hunting around for a pair of Chanel ballet flats. I have previously owned three pairs, with the first pair my very first Chanel IRL purchase. The other two were vintage finds. All three pairs I stupidly sold. Sellers remorse is a real thing and there are far too many items for me to count that I have such regrets about selling. Alas, that is a discussion for another post.

Like the rest of the internet I love the new Chanel by Mattieu Blazy collection; the calf hair spotted red ballet flats are just to die for, but incredibly hard to get hold of and expensive. That being said I spent hours (even days) searching Vinted, Vestiaire and The Real Real for a pair of Chanel ballet flats. I really wanted the velvet ones but discovered that they are incredibly hard to come by and even more expensive than the new collection so sadly I had to rule those out. I was lucky to find a beautiful pair on Vinted: they are a patent red Chanel ballet flat with a patent black toe cap. These are truly special and so beautiful, they feel like a really pretty pair and can be worn in all seasons. I also love these because my fashion icon has these and you guys know how much I love Lilly’s style.

6. Tory Burch

Tory Burch seems to have secretly made a bit of a comeback? The brand has never really been on my radar (maybe because it feels more American) but there are two pieces at the top of my wishlist. The first piece being the white tank with flower brooch. I don’t know why but I just cannot stop thinking about this tank. I will never buy it because I don’t feel like spending nearly £400 on a white tank is a good use of my money (prove me wrong otherwise) but it doesn’t mean I cant dream! I do also think you could so easily make this yourself, as my friend and stylist Flossie Strickland has proved. There are great ribbed white tanks like this, this and this which you could buy and then attach a brooch to. I have saved some on Etsy which can easily work. This one here is great, also this (such a fun colour) and even this feathered one could work.

The second item is a pair of sandals. I think my algorithm on every platform has read my mind, or perhaps I have just trained it super well…These sandals have come up multiple times and also had a lot of air time by other creators and influencers ( approved). They are hands down the coolest sandal. They are a simple black thong sandal with a funky green beaded cuff. Imagine wearing these with a vintage Levi, white t-shirt and raffia hat. Or even worn with a mini dress like this and this. I just love these shoes so so much.

7. Dôen Dress

The last thing is my Dôen white maxi dress. When I posted this you guys absolutely loved it and I got so many questions about it. I know there is a lot of talk about Doen on the internet. People are divided on it. Some hold the opinion its a summer staple and half their wardrobe is full of their tops, dresses and skirts, wearing it for weekends in the Hamptons, in New York or even on the beach in Europe. On the other hand, people are sick of Doen taking up their FYP. They (rightly so) hold the opinion that you can find exact items on Vinted, Etsy or at a little French market for a fraction of the price. I sit somewhere in the middle.

That being said this dress is one of my summer wardrobe heroes. Fun fact about this dress: it was a Vinted find from Alexa Chung’s closet sale, which makes sense that everyone loves it so much! The style no longer exists but they do have a couple of similar styles like this and this. The closest item I have found is a Helsa dress (currently on sale). Although this is quite similar or this. It really is the easiest dress to chuck on, albeit slightly see-through.

There are some other notable mentions such as a new podcast discovery by two British fashion veterans Alice and Kay. Their new podcast “An Excellent Fit” is all I have been listening to lately. Their guests range from Tish Weinstock to Pixie Geldof and FT HTSI editor Jo Ellison. I love their discussions and general fashion chit chat. One of my favourite questions they ask is “what is one piece you hate” and almost everyone answers with “skinny jeans”.

I also visited the Royal Academy Summer Show which is their annual art extravaganza. In previous years they have had some incredible pieces but this year I was slightly disappointed and uninspired. It felt rather overwhelming and there were some questionable pieces, but I guess thats art- its all subjective. I also visited the new Serpentine Pavilion in Hyde Park which was a sort of outdoor/indoor construction made from entirely bricks. I’m not sure how this compares to previous years which have been slightly better but they did excellent coffee and Mexican banana bread! If you are in London I would definitely give it a visit.

Lastly is Flabelus. I spend every summer in my furlane shoes. I have three pairs, not from Flabelus but from Vibi Venezia. They are great and go with everything from jeans to dresses and even sports shorts. However, they are super super flat and provide absolutely no comfort (no hate to Vibi Venezia!). I tried on the coolest pair of neon orange frulane slippers from Flabelus and I have to say they are a level above. They are so so so comfortable and feel much more supportive. I love both brands- some of my favourites are these, these and these.

I have a theory that the fan is the new face mask. I daren’t mention the “c” word (Covid) that all forced us into wearing masks everywhere we went. There were even fashion houses who produced custom brand masks for all attendees. I’m not sure if these were chic or tragic? But, it feels like (luckily) we have made a departure from this era, now facing a new problem: how to stay cool whilst looking chic?

I want to begin by briefly discussing the origin of the fan, believed to originate from 3000BC where the Egyptians, Chinese and Japanese sought a cooling solution. It began rigid, constructed of parchment, metal and silk. By the turn of the 20th century the handcrafted fan had lost its prestige, no longer a desired accessory. But, the fan is making its comeback and rightly so.

There were multiple sightings at Paris Couture Week of everyone from models to attendees spotted with a fan. It sort of became this badge and universal item, signifying attempts to fan off the heat. I love how each person has fully embraced the fan, some even matching them to their outfits (far right). I honestly think there is nothing more chic than holding and subsequently using a fan. After all a chic fan has to trump an Ali Express mini electric fan which I think we can all agree are the height of tackiness.

Some of my favourite fans are below. These range from an incredible Aspinal hand painted one with its own leather case to a simple but fun find from H&M. I would love to know which fan is your favourite.

The top left is a gorgeous printed fan from Victoria Beckham and incredibly affordable. I love how the wooden element is maintained. Equally amazing is this zebra fan from Eva Ventai. All of her fans are handcrafted and produced in Provence, France. She has a range of the most spectacular pieces which I have my eye on. I also love this Pucci fan with its iconic purple print, perfect for every girls Pucci summer. Finally Aspinal has this gorgeous hand painted avian fan complete with its very own leather fan case. Can you get any chicer than this?

Another fan I love is this beautiful Etsy find which is hand painted in Spain by local producers. The calla lily design would make a beautiful wedding guest accessory, paired with a matching Reformation silk dress. You can’t go wrong with a more kitsch fan like this fun graphic Kabana Shop blue fan, finished with a cord so you never lose it! H&M do an equally good colourful green and pink fan under £10 if you want something fun and cheap. Finally, this gorgeous banana yellow fan by a beautiful Indonesian brand Pubumésu who locally source and handcraft all pieces. I think this one in particular is super unique and would definitely turn heads on the front row.

The first look is perhaps my favourite. I love the simplicity of both these women elevated with a mega bag. The Loewe bag is a workhorse- big enough for a laptop and the rest of your life! Her shoes are a little Miu Miu ballet mesh flat, an item which has come up time and time again. A leopard print mini skirt looks great with a simple black t shirt (here and here) and sandal. Outfit 2 is equally great. A classic pinstripe shirt: I swear by With Nothing Underneath here and here or even this. The bright red triple strap Mary Jane shoes are a summer staple. I love Flabelus, also these red ones and these. Look 3 is how to dress super simply but add an accessory like a giant straw tote and look incredibly put together. I love these raffia totes here, here and here. The same goes for look 4 with a chic white skirt (also here) styled with a silk scarf (also here and here).

Look 1 is summer in the city approved. A chic all white linen/ cotton set is always a great idea. The top is a little broderie anglaise blouse like these and these, paired with a white linen pant (Ref do the best) or here and a simple flip flop. Look 2 is a double denim styled with a classic black Dragon Diffusion bag (the best investment you’ll make). Look 3 is sort of playing into the sporty-chic with a pair of basketball shorts and of course the Tabi shoes, finished with a gingham button up. I love the outfit of the friend, dressed in a great white crewneck t-shirt (my favourites are here and here) along with a chocolate brown jean and ballet flat. I also love the Prada sunnies! Look 4 is another all white ensemble. Her top is probably Doen (currently having a warehouse sale!) with white denim shorts, a Bottega Veneta bag and fun gingham shoes (similar here).

Another very London summer look for outfit 1- a cute black tank and midi skirt paired with a red Mary Jane and fabulous studded tote bag which is giving Khaite! Look 2 is a fun way to add print and colour whilst staying true to the basics. This fun pair of paisley red jeans are clashed with a blue slipper. The basic white tank is a wardrobe staple with my favourites being here, here and here. I am obsessed with the neon friulane slippers in outfit 3. The raffia hat and button up white linen dress looks so chic. The final look I spotted a while back and you guys LOVED it! You know how obsessed with Doen I am, so when I spotted it in the wild I had to snap a pic. This Doen dress is honestly the best city dress, being silk and maxi it is easy to dress up or down. The sandals are also great and compliment the look super well.

I feel so passionate about offering a curated edit: items and brands you have never heard of. I do pride myself in offering a new perspective, straying from the trends and mass culture. After all what happened to originality and individualism?

1. Albausart

Starting off this weeks edit with a creator. I discovered Alba through my explore page, something i rarely ever check- anyone else? Thank god I did! Alba has the best style, something I don’t say lightly. Her wardrobe is an eclectic mix of patterns, prints, textures, colours and classic pieces. She recently wore a red themed outfit, a mix of textures, prints, patterns and shades of red. A classic striped red breton long-sleeve paired with the coolest orange-red ballon pants with embellishments. She paired these pieces with a Fendi mini bag, floral appliquéd. The look was completed with a simple sandal and gold jewellery. I love the playful element woven into each individual piece, making it stylish but fun. I am also loving all her holiday looks, giving me (and others) all the wardrobe inspo.

2. A Random Company

I love a fun bag, especially one that has a bit of je ne sais quo to it! Don’t get me wrong I have an endless wishlist of designer bags with the Balenciaga Rodeo and Miu Miu Ivy Tote being at the very top, but when you stumble upon a small independent designer creating something truly unique it feels like an omen to purchase.

A Random Company is the brainchild of two friends based in New York where every item is hand crafted. ARC doesn’t just create bags, they make the most incredible and fun pants, with a personal favourite being their Shimmy Mini pant. However, for me the bags are the star of the show. Their Point Clutches are genuinely the coolest thing ever. I am dying for the Manuela and Pipo- these clutches make for the ultimate “cool girl” accessory that I promise none of your friends will own. I seriously hope the girls make a visit to London in the near future.

3. Prada Cadillac skirt

This is probably the most random and unexpected discovery. Like any fashion lover, buying full price items is a thing of the past so just like I use social media, I scroll Vinted as a fun past-time. There is nothing more relaxing and satisfying, than when Vinted understands your vision to a t! That being said, I came across an amazing seller (Birdie28ep) who has a small selection of curated pieces. This specific listing for a KNWLS denim jacket was styled with an insane Prada skirt, sadly not for sale…

This skirt has ever since lived rent free in my mind. The automative fashion show was from spring/summer 2012. A Prada Cadillac midi pencil skirt is to die for and paired with a simple white tank or baby t-shirt is ultimate cool girl coded. Of course Prada can never do any wrong and this skirt feels incredibly cool. So, I will be searching high and low for this skirt- if you have any leads please lmk.

4. Belgian pink loafers

A screenshot inspired mention and this time from Donni founder Alyssa Wasko. It goes without saying that the founder of Donni is always dressed impeccably. This specific look really caught my attention, with a special shoutout to the shoes. I actually spotted Blanca Miro with a pair which also figures because both women are personal style influences to me!

The pink shoes in question are vintage Belgian pink leather loafers. I have found a bunch of pairs here on Ebay, The Real Real and also a similar pair here. I love the way Alyssa has styled this simple yet chic outfit. A pair of green cargos is a wardrobe staple along with a crisp white blouse. Some of my favourites can be found here, here and here. I am definitely on the hunt for this specific pair of shoes but in the meantime I will be lusting after these and these.

5. Vintage gold necklace

You all know how obsessed I am with jewellery, in particular vintage jewellery. In Saint Martin, one of the villages in the Ilé de Ré, I came across an incredible antique store. The beautifully curated shop, full of everything from ceramic oyster platters to bottle green wine glasses, butter knives also had a cabinet full of jewellery. I had to ask the owner about her necklace because the way she wore it was just French kiss! She had a gold lighter on a chain which I agree is not the most obvious pendant but it worked. It got me thinking about other vintage pendants and it took me to Etsy (an underrated treasure trove of jewellery) where I found some other incredible pieces I had to share. For example this one here, and this beautiful vintage number and also here.

6. Natalie Martin dress

Ok so not the most ideal situation happened whilst wearing this dress but at least I looked chic! Karma truly worked its magic as I fell (quite badly may I add) off my bike whilst cycling one handed trying to get content…However I went down in style I suppose. I had been waiting since last summer to wear this dress and finally got to debut it, paired with my favourite Vibi Venezia shoes and baseball cap. The dress is a mini long-sleeved dress in silk with a gorgeous floral-batik print. It is from Natalie Martin, a beautiful American designer who makes fabulous beach wear. I also have a couple of tops from her which I have worn all summer; you can find them here and here. Theres nothing better than a beautiful beach chuck-on dress and this one is exactly that!

7. Reformation dress

Every summer I cannot even tell you how long I spend trying to find the “perfect” summer dress. There is a checklist I always try to tick when hunting for said “perfect summer dress”. This list feels often impossible to check off. There are very specific criteria, one of these being that it has to work in both London and on holiday. This is always the hardest to tick off…

As I have discussed before, finding a dress that works on holiday and in London is hard. You can’t have it too sheer, too long, too flowy or too formal. However, I feel lucky that this year I may have found the dress. Enter Reformation who have some of the best dresses, just not in store! I would be interested to know if anyone else feels so disappointed by their in-store selection. This means I end up shopping online and always finding gems like this white Doen-esc mini dress. I wore this yesterday styled with the most beautiful Palome cotton scarf and my Longchamp x Le Filt bag. I wish I had sized down to an XS in the dress but nonetheless it really is the most perfect summer dress, checking all boxes!

Staying cool in the heat is actually an art. From sun protection to sweat prevention (no rhyme intended!) I have searched far and wide and tested a plethora of products which I am here to share and report back to you. Heatwave and hot weather regardless, these products have become necessities in my life.

So I have categorised these products loosely, starting off with high street heroes. I can safely say that the product which everyone should be carrying with them is the Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist. Whenever you feel yourself beginning to sweat, a couple of sprays on your face and I promise you will feel instantly refreshed. This is also a really great price and also available in a Rose and Vitamin C- so pick your fighter!

I also don’t think you can go wrong with a really good SPF. Both Krave Beauty and Freaks of Nature are amazing picks. Both aren’t mineral meaning they don’t look like you are about to bat for a cricket game! I personally don’t like a mineral SPF as it always tends to leave a white-cast and looks awful under makeup. However, if you have fairer skin then a mineral SPF is better…

Another essential for the heat is a pair of cooling eye patches like these from Dieux, an incredible female-founded beauty brand backed by clinic data and research. I will wear these eye patches out in the morning or just before I go to sleep. Equally the heat makes everyone feel a bit puffy (lets be real) so I have two hero solutions. The first being the Depuffer from Dr Idriss which is a serum with a cooling metal applicator, serving both hydration and chillness all around. The other hero is a ZIIP Halo, a must-have beauty product for everyone, heat regardless. I genuinely cannot travel anywhere without it and use it regularly in my beauty routine. During the heat I have been using the 6 minute lymphatic draining facial: using the silver and crystal gel. You can get 20% off using code DAWSZIIP.

Ok next is body products and sleep. If you aren’t fortunate enough to have AC then sleeping at night in the heat is a whole other ballgame, or nightmare. I have tried all the hacks, from freezing pillow cases to cold showers beforehand and I’m not convinced. For me a sleep mist and silk eye mask work wanders for ensuring a restful night. I particularly love the Olverum sleep mist: it smells super calming and actually works. Equally, a silk eye mask blocks out the light from the open windows and doesn’t cause breakouts. I also love taking a de-bloat supplement to help sleep: the Arrae bloat pills are a game changer and don’t contain any nasties.

If you are opting for the pre-sleep cold shower then using a really great body wash to get rid of the sweat and sunscreen is essential. I cannot recommend the Olverum body wash enough. It smells absolutely divine and is so gentle and hydrating, making it a staple product in my shower.

In terms of the best of the best option for SPF, I really do think investing in a great product is essential. I have tried a lot of SPFs and most of them I don’t love…It really can feel relentless and with so many on the market it is also incredibly overwhelming or even knowing where to start. If you do want to make a really good purchase I swear by Auteur Sun Drops. These are expensive but 100% worth it. The formula is an oil which I was unsure of at first but, it blends so easily into the skin and works so well under makeup. I also love the Dr Loretta SPF- the formula is very lightweight and ideal for sensitive skin. The size is also perfect to just throw into your bag. After wearing SPF all day a double cleanse is necessary. I usually opt for an oil cleanser as it works wonders with some soap and a cloth, getting rid of all the sweat and product, leaving a nice clean base for moisturiser. The Susanne Kaufmann cleansing oil is my go-to and lasts forever as you only need a tiny bit.

Moving on to the last couple of products and tools I cannot live without. Starting with another worth-while investment: the 111 Skin Cry De-Puffing eye patches. These are expensive but having tried other masks by 111 Skin, I make exceptions for this investment! They are super super cooling and hydrating, making them another staple for the hot weather.

Having tried lots of deodorants from drugstore brands I do keep coming back to the Necessaire aluminium-free deodorant. I love the formula and size, making it easy to bring with you anywhere and everywhere. A wide tooth-comb is another must-have, particularly after a swim in the sea. I really love this tortoiseshell comb and the fact it has a handle, which makes it really easy to grip when you have just got out the sea! Last but not least is a dry body brush. This one from Goop is my favourite: it helps with lymphatic drainage and boost blood flow throughout the body. It’s also just really nice to add as a ritual at the end of the day. I know sometimes it feels a bit excessive to add all of these into your routine but it is worth it, at least for making you feel better about yourself.

Anyway, enough footie talk and onto more fashion, my speciality! The hot weather has provided me with lots of inspiration, forcing me to rethink my entire wardrobe and outfit choices in panic that I realise wearing jeans is simply too hot. This means finding other cooler solutions in every sense of the word. This weekly digest features some beautiful things with a mega mesh tote bag being a personal favourite of mine. I also share a skincare hero which I am sad to not gatekeep!

1. Aesther Ekme mesh tote bag

If like me you always feel as though you need the biggest bag to fit all of your stuff then I have a solution: the Aesther Ekme mesh tote. I discovered this brand via Instagram and its safe to say I am obsessed. Not to mention the bag is currently on sale for an incredible price!!

The Phantom Tote is literally the perfect tote for all occasions, from commuting to work to boarding the plane. I also love the silhouette making it timeless and chic- the mesh element adds a bit of fun and texture which I think is super easy to pair with any outfit. The bag is made in Morocco on a small scale, something which I look for when shopping. I am constantly searching for the “perfect” tote and always get questions about which bags are best to fit lots of items inside! I also think their Hobo bag is seriously chic and would look great when the cooler months arrive, paired with a thick blazer and dark denim. However, lets not get ahead of ourselves!!

2. Timeless Pearly x Love Stories

It wouldn’t be a true 7 Things for 7 Days if i failed to mention a collaboration. This particular collaboration is really amazing because Timeless Pearly holds a special place in my heart. Leslie (the founder) is such a visionary and a true Parisienne, always styling the jewels impeccably! Carlotta is also a crucial member of the TP team and always wears the coolest outfits, obviously paired with Timeless Pearly jewels!! Therefore its no coincidence that their latest collaboration with Love Stories is a match made in heaven and instant summer must have.

The collaboration features a limited edition collection of swimwear and necklaces in butter yellows, deep maroons, completed with coral strands and chunky shells. I feel as though there aren’t any pieces that exists quite like them. Imagine the butter yellow swimsuit paired with a sarong (here and here), sandal and raffia hat. I mean, can you get any chicer than this. And, seen as the whole world is having a “Euro summer” (don’t even get me started on this) this collaboration will be the perfect piece to wear in Capri, St Tropez or Mykonos.

3. With Nothing Underneath shirt

Lets ride!! The easiest (and coolest) way to get around London at the moment is definitely by bike and that means being dressed appropriately. I cannot rave enough about With Nothing Underneath as a whole, from their linen dresses to recent collaboration with Lucy Williams and iconic shirts. Pip (the founder) just understands women’s style needs and executes every piece perfectly. The hot weather is all about wearing easy breezy pieces which feel easy to style and chuck on. I particularly love their seersucker collection- available with the cutest matching shorts and in multiple colourways. I decided to choose the chocolate brown and white stripe shirt paired here with my trusty Massimo Dutti straight leg jeans. I’m looking forward to wearing the set together when I head off to France at the end of the week.

4. Simple Rainbow ballet flats

Another discovery by Instagram- clearly I have trained my algorithm to understand my taste and needs perfectly! I always think there is nothing chicer than a little ballet flat. Of course, the original ballet flat is from Chanel but, if like me you aren’t ready to part with close to £1000 then finding equally as stylish alternatives is a must. It goes without saying that this next mention is from a French brand which makes total sense because the ballet flat originates in France (don’t fact check me on that).

Simple Rainbow is a little Parisian haven of the chicest colourful ballet flats. A pandora’s box and emporium if you will. I am literally obsessed by their Yves Klein blue flats and their bright orange ones, which I predict to be the colour of the summer. They are all handmade from the softest lambs-leather and I believe, can be customised/ monogrammed. These feel like something Lilly Sisto would wear?

5. Tresse x Havaianas

Another collaboration because why the hell not! This post seems to have a French theme as Tresse is a Parisian brand with dare I say, the coolest pieces and now, the coolest shoes. I always love a collaboration that feels fun and authentic to both brands, so it sort of goes without saying that Tresse and Havianas just makes sense. The playful French vibe of Tresse is met with the classic and iconic styles created by Havianas. The collection features the iconic flipflop reimagined and adorned with wooden beads and raffia stitching. I have my eye on these in white, but they also come in sea green and yellow, perfect for those who support Brazil!

I love how brands have really leaned into the whole beaded and playful sandal this year. You only have to look to Courtney Grow’s latest collaboration with Reformation which features a very chic pair of beaded sandals which I predict to sell out very very soon!

6. Le Nodo bags

If i had to choose one item to keep buying for the rest of my life, it would definitely be bags. I don’t know what it is about them but they just make an outfit. Maybe you are a shoe person, a jacket person or a jewellery person and of course, all can be true at once but for me, its bags. I don’t necessarily mean “designer” bags because thats a whole different breed of shopper. I’m talking about bags that have a bit of je ne sais quoi, you know the ones that not everyone has but, everyone wants. Enter Le Nodo- a super fun and creative brand based in New York. Their iconic Le Sac Mini is made from 100% cotton bandana-print fabric, matched with a cotton lining and adorned with a fun fringe. I really love the shape and silhouette of the bag and it makes for a great day to night bag which makes for a fun outfit- city, beach or anywhere in-between. I love the white mini sac but also the Fold-over Clutch in tigre.

7. Brenda Hashtag

Last but certainly not least I have been consuming all things Brenda Hashtag (otherwise known on by her podcast as Brendawareness). I really enjoy listening to podcasts that actually dive deep into the nitty gritty, offering some sort of different perspective or opinion that isn’t just held by everyone else. Not to mention Brenda is the most incredible writer and always discusses the most interesting topics on her Substack; she has also recently been appointed editor at large for 032C. Her recent article about how to be a self promoter was really insightful and I actually loved her honest and authentic discussion about how you actually have to be your own cheerleader but also others. It’s a two way street right: engaging with other like-minded individuals increases your own visibility whist enabling you to build your network and community. A little goes a long way in terms of mentioning a creator, product or brand. Not everyone can afford to have mass visibility and media attention so simply leaving a like or a comment can make a big difference.

Brenda also has the most insane closet, like the commitment to her whole vibe and aesthetic is something I truly admire. But, Brenda if you happen to read this thank you! Not only do you inspire me and so many others but you actually care and make educated discussions about the fashion industry interesting and a pleasure to listen to!

As I finish writing this weeks article I am relishing the cool AC from the cafe I have been working in. It always amazes me how this country (the UK) is so ill-equipped for the heat. No where has ice, no where has AC and we are all just sweaty, hot, burnt messes. If you want some great SPF I recommend Krave beauty. Its very lightweight and sits well under make-up also not leaving any sort of white cast. I also really love the SPF from 111 Skin if you are looking to splurge.

The 2026 World Cup is of course all about the football, but it would be rude to ignore the fashion of the women on the sidelines. I want to start by taking a trip down memory lane, transporting us all to the early 2000s where ostentatious bags and debatable styling were in full swing. I’m talking mini short-sleeved waistcoats and all white denim which, for some reason was a popular WAG choice.

We can’t discuss original WAG fashion without looking at Victoria Beckham who now owns one of the most successful fashion houses, trending currently on Net-A-Porter. The way VB used to dress is a far cry away from her sleek, minimalist silhouettes today. One of her most iconic looks has to be when she strutted across the football pitch in a hot pink Rouland Mouret body-con mini dress, accessorised by an ostrich birkin and black Christian Louboutins. Or perhaps her all white airport look, finished with a bright red v-neck jumper, representing the England flag.

The other WAGS were of course Coleen Rooney (Wayne Rooney’s wife) and Cheryl Cole (then married to Ashley Cole). If you have never seen the Wagatha Christie documentary I highly recommend for some light entertainment…Both Coleen and Cheryl’s fashion choices comprised of tank tops, acid wash mini shorts and f**k off big handbags, rather tacky in my opinion. It was the era of Y2K and who can blame them for their flashy fits: after all their partners were definitely not short of cash. That said, dressing like a WAG back in the 2000s could translate into today. So, below are some WAG approved looks, all available to shop here.

Flash forward to today and there are a new era of WAGs, or rather stylish women successful in their own right. England’s very own Saka recently engaged to Tolami Benson, an influencer who is always impeccably dressed at every Arsenal match. From her double denim (Y2K reminiscent) to her Givenchy mini shark boots, Benson represents a modern day woman who a Gen Z and (maybe) millennial follower are definitely fashion-inspired by.

Equally, Antonela Roccuzzo and Ester Exposito redefine WAG fashion. Messi’s wife Antonela has nearly 40 million followers, successful in deals with Tiffany, Louis Vuitton and Adidas. Often out dressing Messi, Antonela’s style is sophisticated but also reflective of the style era we are currently in. Her jewellery choices are always chic and her bag choice, unlike VB circa 2000 is understated and chic. Ester Exposito, girlfriend of French player Mbappe is the epitome of chic cool girl. Her latest Instagram post is a spring fling: Lady Dior bag in silver and a gorgeous two-piece Tory Burch set and Jimmy Choo heels. With over 20 million followers, Ester has acquired quite the cult following of young women looking up to her for style advice and maybe how to acquire a football player of your very own…

Ok, so I hope after maybe watching some of the matches or deciding on which WAG you want to embody this 20206, you feel prepared to help “bring it home!”. I really think we are entering a style renaissance for sport. Not only is it the wives and girlfriends who are showing up in their outfits, but its also the players. Take the French national team for instance: players like Mbappe and Jules Koundé have been photographed carrying Chanel and Dior bags. My latest obsession is watching all the outfits of each players as they arrive to training. Trust the French to bring the style…

If you didn’t know already, sale season is well and truly upon us. Net A Porter finally launched their sale this week with MyTheresa and SSENSE following suit. I love a sale as much as the next person but, they can be dangerous. A sale purchase is only successful if the item in question was going to be purchased pre-sale (i.e. if it was full price you would have purchased regardless). So, consider your purchases and don’t allow yourself to make expensive mistakes. I always think as a rule of thumb denim, sneakers and basics like white t-shirts/ tanks etc are always worth it. Equally swimwear like Eres make smart purchases.

Anyway, with that pre-amble out of the way, this weeks post is a product heavy one. But, I promise all the items featured are well worth the mention. I have been trying to discover new and upcoming brands to share with you guys so, I hope you enjoy!!

1. J Crew dress

I think what Olympia has achieved at J Crew is just incredible- the campaigns, products and collaborations are honestly chefs kiss! She has really reinvented what has always been an iconic American brand, but modernised it and turned it (high) fashion. There is one particular dress I spotted which reminded me of the iconic Chanel surf dress (see here).

This satin mini dress feels like the perfect summer dress for the city. Wear it during the daytime with a flat sneaker (here or here) or even a ballet flat like these. Equally, it could be worn in the evening with a blazer and a heel.

2. Sac Decoratif

I love love love a fun bag! Especially a mini bag with a bit of je ne sais quo! I discovered Sac Decoratif through a never ending search for a fun evening pouch (avoiding the satin Prada one). This very cute evening bag is embellished with voluminous, hand-beaded petals, requiring over 20 hours of artisanal work.

The bags come in a variety of different colourways, from brown to a periwinkle blue with purple beads. I love the playful but elegant silhouette that each item brings. They aren’t cheap, but then again nothing good comes without a good price tag…

The brand also has some fabulous satin gloves, part of their “roaring 20s” collection. The founder and designer Margarita is inspired by Art Deco and the theatricality of the 1920s drawing inspiration from the costume sketches of Sonia Delaunay into the polished satin effects evident in the design of the bags.

3. Celine campaign

Michael, Michael, Michael. Why do all the best designers names begin with an M? Michael Rider (for those not in the know) is the creative director at Celine and oh my god is he doing an incredible job at the moment. His vision from runway to product to campaign is just sensational and has really put Celine on the map of brands for the now.

The latest Celine “Ete” (summer) campaign is everything and more I need my summer wardrobe to replicate. The campaign features terry beach towels with the house logo to chunky gold toe rings (who knew) and the prettiest ever pair of bright red jelly sandals. But, in particular I cannot stop thinking about the paisley tote bags. These are actually part of the “automne” campaign but I make an exception for this specific item. This is a way chicer revival of the vintage Vera Bradley patchwork paisley bags- a serious throwback…

4. Dôen Fidella top

I have a love hate relationship with Dôen. I wrote a note about this the other day here and you guys seemed to totally agree with me. I know it is the “go-to” summer brand which every fashion lover has their eye on. Their iconic Henri top has gone so viral (sort of) that multiple brands have created a dupe of…

I do absolutely love Dôen and each piece they create is arguably such a summer must have. My graduation dress was Dôen and I love and cherish it so much! Every piece of theirs from the little white dresses to the mohair cardigans and of course, their pretty tops will undoubtably form the foundations for every summer outfit. There is one top in particular which I tried on: the Fidella. It is simple and printed in a ditsy floral print, easy to pair with a pair of denim or white linen pants.

5. Vertigo Tiger Disc Pendant

Another new brand discovery. Vertigo is an Arizonan jewellery brand, founded in 2021 but based in NYC. They design pieces for both everyday wear and special occasions, focusing on unique pieces which versatile and effortless. I love their use of Agates, Quartz, Pears, Jades and other stones- each piece is made to order which makes Vertigo super sustainable and one of a kind.

They don’t just create the most divine pieces of jewellery, they have belts and bag charms which are seriously cool, making them the perfect accessory to elevate your looks. I particularly love the Banded Peach Charm and the Lapis Charm.

My favourite piece however is the Yellow Tiger Disc Pendant featuring a yellow tigers eye gemstone and sterling silver choker. The design is a vintage 1990s design and one of a kind. This piece feels like its very own sculpture: it would look incredible with a simple silk slip dress, worn from day to night. Safe to say, I am simply obsessed.

6. Vincent Boulevard

You guys know I love finding a cool pair of sunglasses. I wrote a whole Substack about my top picks of this seasons hottest styles here. I actually prefer wearing brands which don’t have a logo and are more “understated”. Don’t get me wrong, I do love the Celines and the Loewes, but wearing a style that isn’t recognisable feels like the ultimate luxury in my opinion.

Vincent Boulevard have the best Instagram also, with some very cool imagery surrounding all of their launches. They are a relatively small business so get on board whilst you can…

This particular pair, the Camille in Onyx and Navy feel like a worthy investment and guaranteed showstopper. The shades are a wrap around silhouette which is flattering for all face shapes and skin tones. I love the multi-tone colourway and really am very keen to get my hands on a pair of these. If anyone from Vincent Boulevard is reading, hit me up!!!

7. TWP hat

TWP is also a very cool brand. Trish Wescoat Pound offers a fresh take on American sportswear complementing women’s lives, creating ease, comfort and sophistication in every piece. Each piece in the collection is designed to be lived in, much like this hat. In-keeping with American DNA, the Nantucket Sound Hat is the ultimate cool girl accessory. The bigger the hat the better!! Available in three different colours, this wide brim beauty is constructed from a water repellent twill. I also happen to notice that this hat is a collaboration with the infamous Gigi Burris. This hat would look super cool with my new With Nothing Underneath seersucker set and a pair of boat shoes like these fabulous ones here.

I always think that there are two types of summer wardrobes: summer in the city and summer on the beach. These two wardrobes can often be problematic to navigate for the majority of us, as where do the boundaries dissipate and the categories overlap? For example, one dress that might fall into the “summer on the beach” category could also find itself in the “summer in the city” category. I am working on a piece for the end of the week about how to define the two and what pieces should be staples in each category.

With that being said, this week’s 7 Things for 7 Days features some homeware, sweatpants, and a look at how to layer accessories — in particular, belts. I also want to give a shoutout to With Nothing Underneath, who seem to be nailing the summer wardrobe with easy linen two-piece sets and, dare I say it, the viral Lucy Williams trousers. Although the jury is still out on whether these trousers look like nurse scrubs or not… Let me know your thoughts! Alas, let us embark on this week’s 7 Things.

1. Ginori x Ritz Carlton Yacht

I always love when iconic brands collaborate and come together (cite last week's post Burberry x Hunza G). I particularly love when homeware collaborations occur because who doesn’t love a useful piece of tableware or dinnerware. This collaboration feels extremely luxurious and very on theme for summer. The Ritz’s mega 190-metre Evrima yacht is decked out in Italian porcelain, unveiling what is being called the “Ginori Terrace”. This is takes yachting to new heights (or depths lol) with a pool house, an all-day eatery and sun-loungers in the Italian brands defining orange, corals and blushes.

Of course, the collection features some of the iconic pieces from the Il Viaggio di Nettuno line, designed by the incredible Luke Edward Hall. Design, art and luxury are united, bringing vivid colours and textiles to the sea! I particularly love the porcelain plates with sea creatures- very very chic.

2. Poppy Delevingne at Cannes

Poppy Delevigne is one of the original London “it girls”. I put her in the same category as Alexa Chung. They all have that sort of je ne sais quoi and London socialite-ism. The job of an “it girl” is to of course be impeccably dressed: looking cool without trying…

I came across this paparazzi shot of Poppy in Cannes and knew I had to include it in this weeks edit. We must discuss her shoes because, the sneaker she wears are a definite throwback, a style which I have certainly not seen for years. Poppy wears the Reebok Club C 85s which I am in total agreement that we must bring back. I know sneakers go through phases, the big chunky trend to the sleek ballet-esque silhouettes. In between, we have had the infamous Sambas and of course the Dries Van Noten which, I still desperately want to purchase. However, a white sneaker is timeless and, will always be timeless. The way Poppy has styled them: a pair of vintage jeans, striped boyfriend knit from Eterne and leather jacket is an ode to the 90s off-duty model vibe we all love.

3. This Celine belt

This is a close-up of Meadow Walker’s belt at Cannes and its safe to say the chunky belt is officially back. Or, at least I am making a strong stance for a heavy duty belt. It’s funny to me because belts are supposed to hold up your jeans, but this serious number from Celine would do anything but! Alas, this Celine sculptural moment of a belt prompted me to think about how to level up accessories, adding on and layering pieces. I also love the mixed metals, proving that you don’t have to commit to either silver or gold.

Celine actually allow you to build and customise your dream belt. You can choose from different coloured leather, adding silver or gold buckles in different shapes and sizes. But, if like the average reader you can’t afford over £3000 for a custom belt, look no further than some other great finds here, here, here and here.

4. Gabriela Hearst x Paul Smith

I wouldn’t usually feature two collaborations in one week but, this partnership is simply not worth missing. I actually didn’t realise that both designers, Paul and Gabby started off their friendship as penpals, united by their love for exquisite design and dedication to craft. Whilst many collaborations, like the Ritz x Ginori feel loud, this collaboration feels intimate and quiet. The collection is personal to both designers, with two of the photographs captured by Paul’s father: an image of mountains and waterfalls, paying homage to Gabriela’s Uruguayan roots.

The collection is simply incredible, featuring intarsia knits, virgin wool trousers and the most stunning silk dress with painterly motifs. I really respect both Paul and Gabriela and their devotion to creating beautiful things. I also love the two designers relationship which is palpable in their interview with none other than Puck’s Lauren Sherman. I would die for every piece in the collection, especially the Lyra trench coat…

5. Vintage Fendi Baguette

As you already know by now, I far prefer to shop “vintage” than purchase new. Why? There are multiple reasons but, usually you can find one of a kind pieces like no other and not to mention, for far less than retail. One of my favourite bags has to be the Fendi Baguette. Not only is it simply iconic thanks to Carrie Bradshaw, but it is such a cute size and has appeared in a multitude of different textiles, colours and prints. Very excitingly, Fendi have launched a kit (yes that is correct) which allows you the ability to show off your needlework, using coloured threads to embroider the bag to your hearts desire. This feels like an incredibly clever PR stunt but also evidently one which is proving successful with Vogue debuting their very own version.

Needlework aside, there is one other Baguette which I simply cannot stop thinking about: the beaded Baguette. The bag is beaded in pretty pinks, greens and adorned with white pearls- a girl’s dream!! I think you can wear this day to night and honestly looks chic with every outfit. This Baguette is available on Club Ena who also have an amazing selection of rare and one of a kind pieces.

6. Suzi Kondi pants

I have long loved Suzi Kondi. I actually remember visiting their NYC branch and falling in love even more! For those not in the know, Suzi Kondi designs everything from pants to sweaters to shorts, all in their iconic terry cloth fabric. I have been on the hunt for another pair of sweatpants because, like I mentioned previously, my beloved Brandy Melville Rosa’s have gaping holes at the bottom of each leg. The particular pair from Suzi Kondi: the Tosk pant in Provence Blue are the sweatpants of my dreams. The style is based on the Touman pants originally worn by Suzie’s Albanian grandmother. The pants feature a high waist with a harem style silhouette, reimagined in a velour which feels more akin to a terry cloth.

I can see myself wearing these non-stop, from lazy weekends to days in the office with a crisp poplin shirt, I feel like the Tosk pant would fit perfectly into my wardrobe. I also love the look of a sweatpant with a loafer or ballet flat, slightly elevating the look whilst keeping it casual. The ivory and grey are also perfect staples which make it easier to pair with other basics like t shirts and tanks.

7. Krave Beauty SPF

Speaking of the heatwave and sun, arguably the most important thing is to remember to lather on suncream. I am confident that everyone of us is guilty in forgetting to apply SPF or, not enough of it. Finding the right SPF for your skin type can honestly feel like a never ending quest. There are so many brands and products on the market that trying to navigate finding the “perfect” one for your skin is exhausting. First of all, what sort of spectrum (number) should you pick? Are you after a mineral or non-mineral suncream? Do you want it to serve as a moisturiser as well as an SPF? Are you bothered about the consistency and if it leaves a white-cast? These are al questions I have asked myself many times and I have tried so many suncreams. However, I fear I may have found the perfect one…

Enter Krave Beauty. Founded in 2017 by skincare aficionado Liah Yoo, Krave Beauty prides itself in creating gentle yet effective formulas. Their products are designed to work with every skin type, especially sensitive. Their SPF “Beet the Sun” is super light-weight and rich with Hylauronic acid and Vitam E. It is also SPF 40+ and definitely does not leave a white cast. Its also very affordable at ony £16 which I promise, is a worthwhile spend!

As I finish writing number 7, I am currently sat in bed at 8pm sweating…This is the only weather I allow myself to wear pyjama shorts to bed. I am a long sleeve and bottom matching set loyalist, with my favourites being from Maria de la Orden and La Veste. Unfortunately I have caved and succumbed to shorts and a cold flannel! I absolutely love these short sets here, here and here.

Enough about Drake and onto more exciting things like the Net A Porter (private) sale which always makes me slightly scared as there are usually hundreds of pieces I end up lusting over. I thought it could be fun to share three looks with an underlying Spring theme which has me looking forward to the impending heatwave next weekend.

I think that when shopping the sale you always have to ask yourself: “would I buy this if it wasn’t in the sale?”. If, the answer is yes then hit checkout. If, the answer is no then hold back because trust me, you will regret it later.

I always recommend buying certain items in the sale such as shoes, denim and swimwear (particularly in the summer months). I think denim is always a failsafe because certain styles never go out of fashion and who doesn’t love a discount on the iconic Khaite jeans! Also t-shirts and other basics are great sale buys because again, they are always timeless. For example Leset and Flore Flore always have great options. Having said that, I wanted to put together some more colourful ways to embrace Spring and different pieces which together, or alone, make great buys. I always love creating these styling edits! I have to admit, both shoes from Le Monde Beryl are top of my wishlist as I think a satin ballet flat and fun sandal are great buys and can easily be worn with jeans, shorts, dresses or even sweatpants (not on NAP but obsessed by these Eterne ones).

1. Brooke Callahan

Brooke Callahan is an LA based designer who creates the most colourful pieces. She is literally the queen of colour blocking and when it comes to fun basics there isn’t anyone else I would recommend more. In particular, the cotton poplin tie pants are amazing. They come in 13 different colours and have a wide range of sizes. They are also reasonably priced and the perfect spring or summer staple. I would pair these pants with a basic white t-shirt or cami or even with a bikini to chuck on when you’re at the beach. Accessorise with a pair of simple flip flops like these from Ancient Greek or a high street number here. Add a fun bag like this raffia one or my go-to Dragon Diffusion for more colour. I would even add a statement necklace to contrast the simplicity of the look. I have been lusting over this one here from Juju Vera but if you are looking for a more budget friendly one there are dupes here and here.

2. MASSIMODECARLO (Paola Pivi)

This post wouldn’t be complete without some type of art or exhibition mention. Whilst I had originally planned to mention the David Hockney at the Serpentine, which is well worth the visit, Paola Pivi’s A Girl Loves Pearls… takes the place instead.

This actually Pivi’s first exhibition dedicated solely to her pearl series. The space is incredible, with a vibrant carpet inspired by her husband’s career as a musician. The carpet reminded me very much of a musical piece in a way I cannot explain! The artworks themselves, all square in shape and varied in size, are constructed of individual plastic or plexiglass beads. In her previous show the works were constructed of real freshwater pearls found among ancient civilisations and indigenous tribes across the world. Their association is of wealth, wisdom, status, rarity and purity which is perfectly conveyed in each.

The exhibition is hosted by Massimodecarlo, a gallery with locations globally, collaborating with an extraordinary variety of artists across mediums, from painting, drawing, installation, sculpture, photography, and performance. If you have the chance to visit their London gallery definitely stop by.

3. Aglagla

Another find via my trusted Instagram algorithm. You guys know how much I love jewellery, especially a fun and unique piece which feels like it has a bit of a “je ne sais quoi”. Aglagla jewellery is exactly that. The brand is from Switzerland with every piece handcrafted using a mix of contemporary and vintage glass beads in their atelier in Geneva.

The mini necklace in pea green and raspberry is so cute and makes such a fun way to add a pop of colour into any look. I also love the Lungo clip earrings which pair perfectly with their Bolo Tie Night necklace. I always love discovering and supporting small female-founded brands and cannot wait to order some of their pieces for my summer wardrobe.

4. Hunza G x Burberry

When worlds collide…No but seriously, this collab is mega and certainly worthy on today’s agenda. Two (dare I say both iconic in their own way) British brands, Hunza G and Burberry have just collaborated on this summer’s hottest swimwear. The collection incorporates the iconic Burberry check whilst staying true to Hunza G’s roots in the crinkle fabric and popular silhouettes. The collaboration is a commitment to craft whilst speaking to a large demographic in the one-size availability. This is the first time Burberry have collaborated with a swimwear brand in over 40 years which feels huge for the Hunza G founder, Georgina Huddart.

I also love the campaign and all the imagery which supported the launch. The pieces are chic and totally wearable whether you are in the South of France or in Costa Rica or, even Hampstead Heath ponds…I love the tankini or the bright red bikini with the iconic check trim.

5. Free City Sweatshorts

If you are unfamiliar with Free City then let me introduce you to arguably the cult classic for lowkey luxe loungewear, favourited by all the it girls. From J Law to the Olsen sisters, Free City sweats have become synonymous with the “I don’t give a f**k” vibe whilst still looking effortlessly cool.

My sweatshorts are in fact my second Free City item with the original sweatpants being the first. They are the softest, most comfortable and stylish sweatpants I have tried (and trust me I have tried a lot). The only exception to these being my Brandy Melville Rosa sweaptants (Rest In Peace) which have numerous holes in….

These sweatshorts are the perfect addition to my wardrobe, especially transitioning into warmer weather. In all honesty, it sparked from an image which came across my Instagram sponsored feed and thank god it did. I knew that I immediately needed these in my life and did impromptly purchase. But, sometimes the most impulsive buys are the best. I will also be styling my own pair with a boyfriend shirt, a cashmere jumper, pair of loafers, you get the gist.

6. Le Galurin

To me, summer is about embracing the terry. What on earth do I mean about this? I’m talking about the fabric terry cloth which is traditionally used for (beach) towels or for the beach hoodies I would wear as a child from Mini Boden.

I feel as though terry cloth clothing has had a revival the past couple of seasons with brands like La Veste embracing the fabric, selling the chicest mini shorts ideal for any summer vacation. I actually have one of La Veste’s original terry cloth dresses which I always make sure to pack for every trip as its just the easiest throw-on dress post-swim.

However, Le Galurin takes things a level up. They make the CHICEST hats made from….terry cloth. The french founder Valerie is inspired by the whacky 70s and all things flower power, using vintage materials to create something new. My favourite style is the Firmin which is a wider, more floppy hat. This colour way here is my personal favourite.

7. Dear Cecilia

As it is still the year of the horse, it would be amiss to not every now and then feature something equestrian themed. Cecilia is based in LA, founded in 2024 by Cece Liu, a horse enthusiast and incredible designer. The brand is rooted a timeless and contemporary aesthetic, with nostalgia underpinning her inspiration. Every piece is “refined yet practical” apparent in the fabulous tote bags which I have my eye on!

The Leonora tote bag is the perfect bag for weekend trips or as an everyday essential. The bag is constructed from a lightweight Italian canvas with a horse-shoe detail on the underneath which is a design feature I am so obsessed by.

They also have an incredible silk scarf in Claret blue which would look incredible tied on the handle or around your neck for total cool-girl chicness. To complete the look they have cute bag charms like an apple or carrot for the complete equestrian package! Out of all todays features, Cecilia is my favourite! The pieces are so unique and insanely beautiful.

With all of that being said, today’s post is a dedicated edit to the shades. As a lover and owner of many a sunglass, I always pride myself in discovering a cool and unique frame. The eyewear space has really expanded and whilst I do still believe that you should own at least two pairs of expensive sunglasses, the high street does an excellent job at keeping up the demand for a “look for less”. This season has been all about the “aviator bug”, spotted on the NYC and Paris runways from brands such as Chloe and Prada. The skinny shade, much like the micro bag, is leaving the chat and making space for bigger and better things (quite literally).

There are some new brands which I am extremely fond of, one of these being Thistles. Founded in 2023, this NYC brand is the creation of photographer, stylist and creative director Thistle Brown, which figures as all the pieces are seriously cool. I am obsessed with a specific pair the “Al” in tortoiseshell which are available here. Equally, the “Thistle” in black and blue are mega but sadly sold out atm.

Another super cool brand is Jacques Marie Mage, albeit expensive have limited-edition sunglasses handcrafted using modern heirlooms in Italy and Japan. It is definitely a cult label and has become synonymous with celebrities, most notably the Olsen sisters. The specific style is the Ari Noir but the Clyde is similar.

The final cool brand is Port Tanger, founded in 2020 by stylist Vanessa Reid and photographer Bibi Borthwick. The brand is rooted in travel and the wandering eye…Each pair is handcrafted in Japan and linked to an element of travel. Port Tanger is more affordable in comparison JMM, but also not high-street. However, they do some seriously cool styles with the Gray in black acetate with blue being a personal favourite. I also have my eye on the black Hayya shades which would be the perfect day to night style.

I could literally go on forever about all the styles of sunglasses I love. I have to give a special shoutout to my mother’s new pair of MEGA cool shades from Chloe which are available here. My mother knows how to dress (admittedly thanks to me) but these sunnies are actually very cool and come in a variety of colours. She is after all the queen of Chloe…

This weeks edition feels celeb heavy (in comparison to previous weeks) with two features from girl boss icons: Sabrina Carpenter and Jennifer Lawrence. If you haven’t been living under a rock then you would have been subjected to Bieberchella or Sabrinachella, choose your fighter. I find it interesting that this year, the fashion narrative has turned away from the attendees and toward the performers. Its less (IMO) about what celebrities and influencers are wearing in front of the big wheel and more about the fashion of the performers. In previous years Kendall Jenner and clan were spotted wearing a basic pair of daisy dukes and white tank with boots (boring in comparison to others). It seemed very “effortless” in comparison to other influencers who have been notorious for going ALL OUT. I’ll discuss this later.

With that being said, lets dive into this weeks 7 Things for 7 Days.

1. Chan Luu fishbone necklace

I always love a fun piece of jewellery, especially when its marine themed and a statement piece! I think jewellery is the perfect way to add interest to an outfit and express personality and style. Don’t get me wrong, I love a dainty tennis necklace or a simple stud earring, but when the layers come off and I start to dress for spring, I steer toward chunkier pieces for adding contrast. Especially for summer a fun piece of jewellery can really act as a major talking point, whether thats a pendant or a fishbone necklace like this gorgeous Chan Luu one. Chan Luu is actually a Vietnamese brand known for its handcrafted jewellery, but more recently has entered the ready to wear category, producing the most insane pieces like this coat and sequin tunic.

2. Cecily Brown at the Serpentine

New week, new exhibition. If you didn’t know I’m currently in my culture era, trying to expand my horizons and perspectives by attending galleries from different artists about different topics. I actually stumbled across Cecily Brown as I was looking for The David Hockney exhibition instead (located at the other Serpentine Gallery) but decided to pay a visit! The Serpentine is a fantastic gallery and usually always free to enter.

Cecily Brown is a British painter who’s style is influenced by a number of contemporary artists such as Francis Bacon and Joan Mitchell as well as Old Masters like Goya and Rubens. Her exhibition, Picture Making is a journey through nature with canvases depicting park life through expressive colour and recurring motifs. There is also a small display of the most endearing drawings in both colour and black and white. I would highly recommend visiting and after paying a visit to the Friends Of Ours Cafe just by the river.

3. Club Moda Operandi La Isla

One of the major highlights in my fashion calendar is receiving the notification that Moda Operandi is returning with its annual exclusive capsule “Club Moda” collection. Last year it was Club Moda and this year it is La Isla with the most insane collection of exclusives from some favourite designers such as Staud and La Veste. There is also some very cool merch in the form of a baby t-shirt and trucker style hat.

Some of my favourite pieces are this pair of terry cloth mini shorts from La Veste which would look fab with a simple white tank or a bikini top like this and pair of flip flops (found here). I also adore this fun Staud beach tote and this Made Some nylon mini skirt which plays into the sports aesthetic vibe I can’t get enough of. For those looking for a unique piece to wear on the beach or to the club in Ibiza, this hat is giving Studio 59 on the beach.

4. Arket x Laila Gohar

This collaboration is insanely exciting and of course, very cool! If you haven’t heard of Laila Gohar, she first rose to fame with her creativity in the food sphere, later co-founding Gohar world. Laila, born in Cairo but located in New York is an artist who blends installation art and showstopping food together, creating a surreal world obscuring life and beauty. Gohar World has created objects such as a steel swan lemon juicer and mother of pearl dove salad tongs.

Laila’s latest project is her exclusive collaboration with Arket, marking her very first ready-to-wear collection. The collection consists of 27 pieces which launch today!! Some of my top picks are the monogrammed bralette and briefs and very cute apron dress.

5. Jennifer Lawrence in Siedres

A celebrity sighting which caught my eye this week was Jennifer Lawrence. I have to confess, my knowledge of Hollywood celebrities is pretty limited, as is my interest…However, I am a big fan of J Law’s style and in particular this outfit with a special shoutout to the pants, who are the real MVP. With some research, I managed to find her exact pants which are here from Siedres. These pants feel very on trend and perfect for spring, adding colour with the added sequin detailing. I have found some similar here and here. Her shoes are of course, the iconic Charvet slippers but dupes can be found here and here.

6. Chanel fringed tote bag

A second hand gem if you ask me. This mega Chanel number is my current Roman Empire. I love finding unique designer pieces which you cannot find anywhere else or spot on anyone. This insane 1990s archival Chanel bag is everything I need and more. The chocolate bar quilted style feels nostalgic and playful, making the bag wearable on either the beach or in the city. You guys also know how much I love a fringe so hence why this little tote is getting a massive thumbs up from me! I have found two different colour ways: pink and blue. If you prefer the blue, this BARGAIN from Ebay has your name all over it, or you could go via The Real Real and pay a little bit more (or maybe a lot…). Regardless, this bag is definitely occupying a worthy place on my never-ending wishlist!

7. Sabrina Carpenter in custom Dior

As I mentioned in the pre-amble, the festival fashion has become all about who and what the performers are wearing on stage. Its not just limited to Coachella: we saw at the Grammys Bieber wearing a pair of (his own brand) Skylrk silk boxers, resulting in a definite increase in searches and purchases of said item. Ironically the people of least influence are the influencers themselves.

Sabrina Carpenter performed on stage in a showstopping (literally) red sequin mini dress, the work of creative genius Jonathan Anderson. NSS Magazine perfectly summarises this by noting how Sabrina’s look manages “to strike a perfect balance between the recognisability of her identity and Dior’s recalibration through the designer’s lens.” Its not just publicity for Sabrina, but also Dior who I think, need to capture the Gen Z audience in the same way Matthieu Blazy at Chanel has accomplished. Moving into this weeks list- a surprise entry is Fortnum and Mason’s third floor. I admit, I have been a Fortnum’s sceptic (it seems over-hyped and touristy imo). However, I was pleasantly surprised at the third floor. Equally, a new accessory purchase has been providing me with plenty of compliments, proving to be a worthy investment. Anyway, now the pre-amble has finished, enjoy this weeks 7 Things For 7 Days.

1. Rose Wylie

I was kindly gifted a membership to The Royal Academy of Arts for my birthday and I was incredibly excited to visit the Rose Wylie exhibition. I always love a gallery and having studied History of Art, I always relish the opportunity to visit new openings and experience the works of artists. The exhibition is perfectly curated, with the sheer scale of Wylie’s paintings occupying the space, imposing and though-provoking. It’s actually the largest exhibition of Wylie’s work to date, featuring numerous paintings which are previously unseen.

There is a blend of Wylie’s bold and striking paintings which are interspersed with cabinets featuring her sketchbooks where initial drawings are doodled onto lined pages. The exhibition reminded me that life is full and not as serious as we tend to make out. A favourite was her painting “Pink Skater” which features a diptych of canvases in which a figure skater glides across canvases, encompassing a sense of dynamism and movement, enhanced by her bold colours.

2. Rixo Silk Scarf

I have long been a fan of Rixo and the beautiful silk printed pieces. My affinity to Rixo began years and years ago when I worked in their original Carnaby Street store, back in the heyday. I even assisted with one of their fashion week presentations, providing me insight into the behind-the-scenes of what has now grown to be a global phenomenon.

Anyway, Rixo’s silk scarves feel like an easy addition to any outfit. I love their versatility- they can be worn to a wedding, a graduation or even everyday. You can tie them around your waist as a belt or more traditionally: around your neck! My favourite style is their Julien scarf, which comes in a variety of 14 different prints. It feels like a beautiful addition to ones wardrobe at only £65, making it a fun piece to spice up an outfit.

3. Calecim skincare

Skincare is incredibly personal and finding the right brand with the right products for the right purpose often can feel like a minefield. I have been fortunate enough to test lots of different products from a multitude of brands. Rigorous testing has taught me what I do and don’t like. I can confidently say that Calecim has CHANGED MY SKIN. The formula of every product is incredible and I have genuinely never noticed such a difference in my skin than when I use their products. I am also a firm believer that you get what you pay for and, whilst there are some exceptions to the rule, it is better to invest in great skincare.

I have tried their Multi Action Cream and finished this insanely quickly. Equally the Professional Serum is a must-have for anyone experiencing signs of ageing (luckily I am not quite there yet!). However, my all time favourite product is the Restorative Hydration Cream. I love how hydrating this feels on my skin and use it religiously before bed every night. I have also been testing the Professional Pigment Solution as I suffer with mild rosacea, so I will report back when I have given testing more time.

4. Topshop x Adowa Aboah

Topshop is now officially back- a definite throwback to my younger years when, for my sixteenth birthday I had a personal shopping session at their iconic Oxford Street store (RIP). Now, I have to admit I was a bit of a sceptic about the return of Topshop. The revival of Topshop could have been a mega opportunity: focus heavily on sustainability, releasing iconic pieces and partnering with influencers who were part of their heyday…which I do think they missed out on. Nonetheless, their recent collaboration with British icon Adowa Aboah caught my attention! This fun little beaded and crochet top is a festival must-have and would look great with a pair of denim daisy dukes or some black linen pants and a flip flop.

5. Fortnum and Mason (third floor)

Believe it or not, I have only ever been to Fortnum and Masons once. It was with my gorgeous friend Audrey at Christmas which, upon reflection I do not recommend. The food halls felt comparable to the crowds at this years Coachella when Justin Beiber was playing (I wish I was kidding…).

This aside, I paid the third floor a visit as they have a very cool pop-up for summer, featuring some super exciting exclusive brands such as Lorna Murray and If Only If. The third floor is actually a special pop up which celebrates Fortnum’s long-standing relationship with millinery in partnership with Chapeau. There are some fabulous hats which you can try on from the likes of Jenny Roberts, Lisa Tan, Sarah Cant and lots more. Admittedly, I was after Lorna Murray who my friend Jemima and I are OBSESSED with. We are constantly sending each other their hats on Vinted, trying to find a bargain (lol!). As well as hats, I discovered that they stock my favourite ever French jewellery brand Caroline de Benoist. I have only ever seen her pieces in Le Bon Marche, so knowing I can find them in London is mega news.

6. Tombolo Beach Cover-Up

This pick isnspired by one of my favourite creators/ influencers Clothes Are Friends (AKA Rachel) who has the most incredible fashion and closet which I am extremely envious of. Her recent trip had her sporting a very chic and cool beach cover-up from the super cool Tombolo company. This particular piece in collaboration with artist Tom Wesselmann is everything I aspire to be wearing on holiday. The terry cloth fabric and fringe detailing is just so fab. This piece feels like the ultimate summer must-pack and also comes in some other fun colours and styles!

7. J&M Davidson Bag

Last but not least, this insane bag is so insanely cool. As you already know, I am a sucker for fringe detailing (see above). However, this bag is taking fringe to a whole new level. Also, if you read last weeks post I love love love a pouch. There is something so insanely chic and cool about just carrying a little pouch around your wrist. This silver fringed bag can be worn one of two ways: as a pouch around the wrist or, cross body. It also comes in a variety of different colours such as gold and jam (currently on sale) with my favourite being the silver, of course. I also think the price point is really good for an incredibly well made leather bag. They have a store in Burlington Arcade if you live in London, or are visiting.
