Well...my goodness it has been a while!

Life kind of threw me a curveball this summer, and I had to step away from business for a bit to focus on my family. My grandmother passed away a few weeks ago, and between grieving, helping my family, and navigating everything that comes with losing someone, I just didn’t have it in me to show up here the way I wanted to. I really missed connecting with y’all!

If I’m being honest, I never want to send something out just because it’s “time.” This little corner of the internet has become one of my favorite places to share, and I wanted my first post back to actually feel worth both of our time. Surprisingly, stepping away gave me exactly what I needed…the chance to recharge!

Toward the end of spring, I felt like I was in a bit of a creative rut. I had ideas, but nothing that really excited me. My perfectionism completely got in the way, but this break gave me time to reset and reevaluate how I want to move forward over the next few months.

I want to inspire you to not only get dressed, but also give you practical tools that make getting dressed easier. I want to give you useful tips you can actually use, whether you’re shopping with me or simply trying to make better use of what’s already in your closet.

So...let’s kick things off with a brand new series!

Prep for Fall Without Rushing Summer

Every August, the same thing happens. Fall starts trickling into the new arrivals, and suddenly all I can think about is the season ahead.

While I think this way because I have to plan strategically for my clients, I also use this exact process in my own wardrobe. So I thought I’d pull back the curtain and show you how I prepare for fall.

If y’all know me, you can probably guess that there’s a method to my Virgo madness…and you’re right. Over the next few weeks, I’m going to walk you through how I help myself and my clients prepare for a new season before we even buy a single thing.

We’ll dive deeper into each step together, but here’s the roadmap I’d start with.

1. Edit Your Closet

Before you even think about shopping, go through everything you didn’t wear this summer.

Ask yourself why.

Did it not fit? Was it uncomfortable? Did it no longer feel like you?

I promise your future self will thank you. When next summer rolls around, you’ll already have a closet full of pieces you actually want to wear.

As you go, make piles for:

• Donate

• Resale

• Shoe repair

• Dry cleaning

Then actually schedule time to take care of those errands. Trust me, you’ll be so glad you did!

2. Study the Trends (Instead of Shopping Them)

Next, school is back in session…fashion school that is! One of my favorite things to do every season is browse the runway collections on Vogue.com. I’ve already linked the Fall 2026 ready-to-wear shows for you above!

I’m not necessarily looking for exact pieces to buy. I’m looking for trend patterns. Are there recurring colors? Textures? Silhouettes? Fabrics? Accessories?

I make note of the trends that feel relevant for both myself and my clients. It helps me identify what’s gaining momentum and decide which trends I want to embrace...and which ones I’m perfectly happy leaving on the runway.

You don’t need to memorize every trend. Just notice which ones make you think, “I’d actually wear that.”

3. Start a Fall Wishlist

New fall arrivals start hitting retailers in August, and I’m constantly looking through them for my clients.

As I’m browsing, I’ll screenshot pieces I love, save them to a Pinterest board, or favorite them on a retailer’s website. The key is that I’m not buying them yet. I’m simply collecting inspiration.

When you’re ready to shop later in the season, you’ll already have a curated wishlist instead of making impulse purchases every time you walk into a store.

4. Do One More Closet Edit Before Fall

Once it’s finally time to switch your closet for the season, do one more edit. I know…you’re like Tenni, we already did that, but it’s for another season. Trust me! This will get you into the habit of managing your wardrobe with a fresh eye.

As you’re bringing your fall pieces back out, ask yourself:

• What do I actually love wearing?

• What’s ready to be donated?

• What needs tailoring?

• What needs dry cleaning?

• Which shoes need repairing?

This is also when you’ll start noticing the actual gaps in your wardrobe. Maybe you realize your dark denim has seen better days, and you need a fresh pair. Maybe you have ten T-shirts, but only one blouse. Maybe you’ve been wanting a great brown belt or a versatile jacket. Now you’re not shopping because you’re overwhelmed. You’re shopping because you have a plan!

And because you’ve already spent the last few weeks saving pieces you genuinely loved, you’ll have a wishlist ready to go that’s based on both your personal style and your actual wardrobe needs.

This isn’t just a checklist I made for Substack. It’s the same strategy I use with my clients before we ever buy a single piece.

Having a plan changes everything. It helps you shop intentionally, stop wasting money on impulse purchases, and build a wardrobe that actually works for you.

Hi Fashion Friends,

It’s been a bit of an emotional couple of weeks. I just got back from Texas after spending time with family while my grandmother is in hospice, along with working with clients in Dallas. While it’s been a hard couple of weeks for my family, I’m so grateful to have had work to pour into. There’s something comforting about helping women feel their best, even when life feels a little heavy.

This weekend, I’m in Denver to spend the Fourth of July weekend with my best friend, her husband, and my two sweet goddaughters. They truly feel like my second family, and I’m really looking forward to slowing down, soaking up some quality time, and being with some of the people I love most.

Life has a funny way of reminding you what matters. This week, that’s been family, friendship, and being grateful for the moments we get together.

It’s only day 3 of the Championships, but we’ve already seen big players drop out of the draw unexpectedly (Ben Shelton and Mira Andreeva to name a few). It was so exciting the watch Serena Williams back on Centre Court. She was still right there in the match until the very end. I think this won’t be the last we see of her…hopefully sooner rather than later at the US Open. We will still get to see her and Venus play doubles together. Lots of fun tennis to come! This is my favorite tennis tournament of the year. Expect more updates throughout the next two weeks! :)

One of the biggest misconceptions about personal style is that once you’ve built a wardrobe, you’re done.

Happy Friday! I’m hopping on a plane this weekend and heading to Texas! First stop is San Antonio for Father’s Day with my family, then it’s off to Dallas for a week packed with client appointments.

One of the first things I hear when I start working with a new client is, “I need new clothes.” And sometimes that’s true…But after seven years of walking into women’s closets, I’ve learned that the problem usually isn’t a lack of clothing. It’s a lack of clarity of their wardrobe.

Most women aren’t standing in front of an empty closet. They’re standing in front of a closet full of pieces they’ve collected over years of life changes, career shifts, weight fluctuations, trends, special occasions, impulse purchases, and well-intentioned shopping trips. The result is a wardrobe that feels disconnected!

Nothing is necessarily wrong with the individual pieces. In fact, many of them are beautiful. But they don’t work together. They don’t support the life the woman is living today. And they don’t give her a clear answer when she gets dressed in the morning. So she assumes she needs to shop!

It’s an understandable conclusion. If getting dressed feels difficult, buying something new feels like taking action. It feels like you’re fixing the problem head on. And for a moment, it even works! A new blazer arrives. A new pair of jeans. A dress that feels exciting and different from everything else in the closet. The excitement lasts for a few days, maybe a few weeks. Then eventually the new piece gets absorbed into the same wardrobe that wasn’t working before and the frustration returns.

That’s because shopping and building a wardrobe are not the same thing! Shopping is easy. Building a wardrobe requires clarity on what’s missing and how to solve the problem once and for all.

It requires understanding how you want to show up in the world. It requires knowing what silhouettes make you feel confident, what colors you naturally gravitate toward, and what pieces actually support your lifestyle. It requires identifying the gaps instead of randomly filling your closet with more things.

This is why my process rarely starts with shopping! Before we buy anything, we spend time understanding what already exists. We identify what’s working, what’s not, and where the disconnect is happening. More often than not, my clients discover they have far more options than they realized. They simply needed fresh eyes to see them.

Once we create that clarity, everything changes. Shopping becomes easier because every purchase has a purpose. Getting dressed becomes easier because the pieces work together. Decision fatigue decreases because there’s a system instead of a collection of random choices. And perhaps most importantly, women stop feeling like they need to start over every season!

The goal has never been to own more clothes. The goal is to create a wardrobe that reflects who you are, supports your life, and makes getting dressed feel effortless.

That’s why shopping alone rarely solves the issue. What truly makes the difference is having clarity about your style, your needs, and how you want your wardrobe to work for you.

Hi Fashion Friends! Happy Friday!

This week, I’m writing to you from Santa Barbara.

I’ve traded my usual LA routine for a few days by the beach, working remotely, taking calls with a different view, and enjoying a slightly slower pace.

Something about summer always makes me reflective.

Maybe it’s the longer days. Maybe it’s the sunshine. Or maybe it’s simply that halfway point in the year when you look up and realize how much has changed in six months.

For me, this season feels like one of growth! It’s truly been an an amazing 6 months for me!

When I moved to Los Angeles last year, I knew I was rebuilding. New city, new network, new opportunities. Some days that felt exciting, but other days it felt daunting.

Now, as I sit here in Santa Barbara, I can finally see the foundation taking shape.

The business feels more aligned. The clients feel more aligned. And perhaps most importantly, I feel more aligned!

Next Friday, I’ll be heading back to Texas for a week.

Many of you know that Dallas is where I started my business before moving to Los Angeles. It holds a special place in my heart, and I’m looking forward to reconnecting with old clients, friends, and familiar places.

I’m also quietly opening the door to new opportunities there.

Nothing formal. Nothing flashy. Just a soft launch.

Hi Fashion Friends!

I was listening to a social media workshop recently when the coach mentioned something called decision fatigue.

She wasn’t talking about clothes. She was talking about content creation.

As she described it, I immediately thought, “That’s exactly how I feel about social media all the time.”

What should I post? Should it be a Reel? Should it be a Story? Should it go on LinkedIn too? Am I repeating myself? Am I talking about the right things?

The more options I have, the harder it becomes to make a decision.

And then it hit me.

This is exactly what my clients experience every morning when they get dressed.

Most women don’t come to me because they don’t own enough clothes. In fact, they usually own plenty. They have full closets, full lives, and full calendars. Yet every morning they’re standing in front of a closet full of options trying to figure out what to wear.

What top? What bottoms? Do these shoes work? Is this too casual? Is this too dressy? Do I still like this?

Before they’ve even had their first cup of coffee, they’ve already started making decisions.

By the time many women come to me, they’re not looking for more clothes. They’re looking for relief. They want getting dressed to feel easier. They want confidence. They want to stop buying things that never quite work and start understanding how their wardrobe fits together.

One of the women who entered my Summer Capsule giveaway recently shared that her biggest wardrobe challenge is finding new ways to wear the clothes she already owns instead of constantly shopping.

I smiled when I read that because that’s one of the biggest misconceptions about personal style. Most women think the answer is buying something new. Often, the answer is seeing what you already own differently.

There’s a pattern I see with almost every new client I work with. They’ve been shopping… but somehow, nothing feels easier!

They have pieces they like. Some great ones, actually. Things they were excited about when they bought them. Things that felt like they were going to fix the problem.

But then a week later, they’re standing in front of their closet thinking the same thing they’ve been thinking for months. “I still don’t know what to wear.” And it’s confusing. Because on paper, it feels like it should be working. The closet is full. There are new things in there. There are options. So why does it still feel so hard?

What I’ve noticed is that most women aren’t shopping because they love to shop. They’re shopping because something isn’t working. There’s a gap they can feel, even if they can’t fully explain it. And buying something new feels like the quickest way to solve it.

And for a moment, it works! You bring something home, you try it on, you imagine the outfit. It feels like progress, but then real life happens. You go to get dressed, and that new piece doesn’t quite connect with everything else the way you thought it would. Or it works once, but then you’re not sure how to wear it again. Or it just sits there, waiting for the right moment that never really comes.

So you go back out and try again. And slowly, the closet grows, but you’re still confused because the issue was never about needing more. It’s about what’s missing between the pieces!

It’s the connection. The cohesion. The understanding of how everything works together as a whole. That’s the part no one really teaches you. So you end up with a closet full of individual items that you like, but very few outfits that fully make sense. And getting dressed continues to feel like something you have to figure out, instead of something that just works.

When I work with a client, this is one of the biggest shifts we make. We stop focusing on what to buy next, and start looking at what’s already there. We connect the pieces. We build outfits. We create a system where everything has a place and a purpose. And suddenly, the same closet feels completely different. Getting dressed becomes quicker, clearer, and easier. You’re not guessing anymore. You’re not hoping something works. You already know it does.

And that’s when the breakthrough happens! Because it’s not about having more clothes. It’s about having a wardrobe that actually works for you!

There’s a moment I see all the time with my clients…

This is where everything shifts!

When your wardrobe is actually working for you, getting dressed becomes simple.

You open your closet and you’re not overwhelmed. You’re choosing from options you already know work. Outfits feel clear. Getting ready feels quick. You leave the house feeling like yourself, without overthinking it.

It’s a completely different experience.

Because getting dressed shouldn’t feel like a task.

It should just be part of your day!

The women I work with are busy. They’re running businesses, managing teams, traveling, showing up for their lives every day. They don’t have the time or the mental space to stand in front of their closet every morning trying to figure it out.

And even if they did, most of them will tell me the same thing.

“I just don’t have the eye for it.”

Which is completely normal.

Styling is a skill. It’s knowing how pieces work together, how proportions balance, how to take what you already own and actually turn it into outfits that feel effortless and aligned.

That’s where I come in!

When I step into a client’s closet, I’m looking at everything with a completely fresh eye. I’m seeing the potential in pieces they’ve stopped reaching for. I’m connecting things they wouldn’t have thought to put together. I’m building outfits in a way that makes everything finally make sense.

And the biggest shift happens when they realize… it was never about needing more.

It was about needing someone to show them how it all works!

From there, we take it a step further…

Every outfit we create gets documented and organized in their digital closet on Nove. So instead of having to remember what we styled or try to recreate it later, it’s all right there on their phone.

Hi Fashion Friends,

I hope you’ve had such a good week! Mine has been very full in that back to reality way…coming home from San Diego after Easter with family and diving straight into work. I spent Monday pre-shopping all around LA for a client, and then Tuesday we had her in-home shopping day in Orange County, which was so much fun. We found such great pieces for her and started pulling together outfits that already feel so aligned. The rest of the week has been all the little behind the scenes moments…returns, reorders, and refining everything as we get ready for her styling session next week, which I’m really excited for!

And now I’m heading right back to San Diego tomorrow to celebrate my mom’s birthday this weekend. I’m so looking forward to being with my family again, going out for a fun dinner, and making her a carrot cake. It just feels really special to be able to have these pockets of time with them while everything else is moving.

Hope everyone is having a fabulous week!

One of the biggest shifts I see with my clients doesn’t happen when we add new pieces…It happens when we start letting things go!

And I know that’s not always the fun part. Most women come into this process thinking we’re going to shop, find amazing pieces, and build something new. And we do! But before any of that, we edit because a full closet and a functional closet are two very different things!

I’ve walked into so many closets that are packed with beautiful pieces. Great brands, great quality, things that made sense at one point. And yet, when it’s time to get dressed, nothing quite comes together. There’s hesitation. There’s second guessing. There’s that feeling of “why is this harder than it should be?” And more often than not, it’s not because there isn’t enough. It’s because there’s too much of what doesn’t quite work. Pieces that almost fit. Pieces that almost feel like you. Pieces you used to love. Pieces you’re holding onto just in case. Individually, they seem fine. But together, they create confusion.

When everything is an option, nothing feels clear. This is why editing is where real style actually begins in an intentional way. We start to look at your closet differently. Not just through the lens of “do I like this,” but “does this support who I am right now?” And instead, “Does it fit your life today?” or “Does it feel like you?” “Does it work with other pieces you own?” “Does it make getting dressed easier?” And if the answer is no, even if it’s a soft no, it’s usually a sign that that piece needs to go.

What I’ve seen over and over again is that when we remove what’s not working, everything else starts to come into focus. Outfits become clearer. Gaps become more obvious. Shopping becomes more intentional. Getting dressed becomes easier. There’s a sense of calm that comes in when your closet finally makes sense.

And from there, everything we add has a purpose. Everything works harder. Everything feels more aligned. That’s when style starts to feel effortless. Because it’s not about having more, it’s about having what actually works. And most of the time, that starts with letting go!

Hi Fashion Friends,

I hope you’ve had such a good week! Mine has felt really full in the best way…a mix of behind the scenes work getting my brand feeling even more aligned, and client moments that just remind me why I love what I do so much. I packed a client for Lisbon & Marrakech, helped another shop for summer shorts, and brought her digital closet to life, which always feels so satisfying when everything starts clicking together. I also had a really great Style Discovery call with a new client in Orange County, and I’m so excited to start her journey next week!

Outside of work, I’ve been making space to move and just enjoy my life a little more! I got in a hike with a friend, and played tennis, which I genuinely feel like I’m starting to get better at and it’s been so fun to see that progress. Heading into the weekend, I’ll be balancing a little life admin with taxes, but also doing something really special…meeting up with my college best friends in Redlands for the day, which I’m so excited about. It just feels like one of those weeks where everything is flowing in a really grounded, happy way! Sending y’all so much love this weekend! :)

The final episode from the series about JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette Kennedy is out and I don’t want it to end! As a Kennedy fan, I’ve enjoyed this from start to finish. And while we already know how their story tragically ends, I’m interested to see how Ryan Murphy concludes the show.

-Reading: What Remains by Carol Radziwill

And continuing on the Kennedy train, I just received a copy of this book. Carol, the author, was married to JFK Jr.’s cousin, Anthony Radziwill. Carol was also best friends with CBK. So, this book goes through her navigating the deaths of her husband 3 weeks after the fatal plane crash with JFK Jr. & CBK. Looking forward to reading this from her own personal persceptive!

-Shopping: Spring Heels

I recently cleaned out my closet and found I need to refresh my heels for this season. I am particularly into these yellow kitten heels by Staud and these white floral detail ones from Badgley Mischka. Both are so chic and fun!

There’s something I see all the time with my clients, and once you notice it, you really can’t unsee it…it’s the difference between getting dressed and actually being styled!

On the surface, it can look very similar. You have good pieces. You like what you own. You get dressed, you leave the house, and everything is technically fine…but something still feels off!

You try on a few options before you land on something. You second guess it a little. You adjust things throughout the day. You look in the mirror and think, “this works,” but it doesn’t quite feel like you.

And most women assume that means they just need more clothes, but that’s usually not the problem. Getting dressed is putting something on and making it work. Being styled is when everything works together before you even put it on. It’s the difference between hoping an outfit comes together and knowing it will!

When a woman is styled, there’s a sense of ease to it. The proportions feel right. The pieces make sense together. The outfit feels intentional, even if it’s simple. You’re not overthinking it. You’re not adjusting your look all day. You’re just in it and feel like yourself.

This is where most wardrobes fall short, even really good ones. Because most women shop for individual pieces. A great top here, a beautiful pair of pants there, a jacket they loved in the moment. And then later, when it’s time to actually get dressed, nothing quite connects the way they expected it to. So they end up with a closet full of things they like, but very few outfits that fully work.

Being styled is about building those connections! It’s understanding how pieces relate to each other. How proportions balance. How colors sit together. How to create outfits that feel cohesive and aligned with who you are now. It’s less about adding more, and more about making what you have actually make sense!

This is also why, when I finish working with a client, they don’t just leave with new pieces. They leave with fully styled outfits already built out for them. I create a digital closet and lookbook through Nove where every outfit is documented and organized. So instead of standing in front of their closet trying to figure it out, they can open their phone and see exactly how everything goes together. What to wear to a meeting. What to wear to dinner. What to wear for travel. It’s all there! It takes the guesswork out of getting dressed and replaces it with clarity.

And once that shift happens, getting dressed becomes so much easier! You’re not standing in front of your closet trying to figure it out. You’re choosing from outfits you already know work. Your closet starts to feel supportive instead of overwhelming. And that’s when style really starts to feel like a tool, not a task. Because the goal isn’t just to get dressed. It’s to feel like yourself in what you’re wearing, without having to think so hard about it!

I hope you’ve had such a beautiful week! I’m just getting back to LA after a quick, little reset in Newport with my family…we were out on the water today watching my cousin row with his team, and it was one of those moments where you just feel really present and grateful to be spending time with loved ones. It felt so good to step away for a minute and soak that in!

This week has been a bit more relaxed, but still full in the best way. I’ve been working with a client on her wardrobe for a trip to Lisbon and Marrakesh, which has been so fun creatively…lots of easy layers, thoughtful pieces, and that perfect balance of polished and relaxed. It’s the kind of styling that reminds me why I love what I do so much!

And honestly, I still feel like I’m taking it all in after dressing my client for the Oscars last Sunday. It was such a pinch-me moment…one of those full circle experiences where I had a second to step back and think, wow, this actually happened. I feel so grateful, and also just really proud!

Now I’m back in LA, squeezing in tennis tonight, and heading into a really cozy, chill weekend to reset and recharge.

Lately I’ve been thinking about how much energy we spend getting dressed… and how unnecessary most of the stress actually is.

I see it all the time with my clients, and honestly, I’ve felt the same frustration myself in certain seasons too. There’s a better way for us to address this issue head on!

Because for a lot of women, getting dressed has become something you have to push through. It’s standing in front of your closet longer than you meant to. Trying one thing on, then another, then another. That moment where you pause and think, “why doesn’t anything feel right?” even though your closet is full.

And then you move on with your day… but you’re already a little drained. Most women don’t think of it this way, but it’s decision fatigue. It’s this low-level mental load that starts first thing in the morning, before your day has even really begun.

And for the women I work with, that matters! My clients are founders, creatives, women who are the face of what they do. They’re in meetings, hosting, traveling, showing up in rooms where their energy is valuable. And yet, getting dressed is often the first place it gets pulled from.

Not because they don’t have good taste. Not because they don’t have enough clothes. But because their wardrobe isn’t actually supporting them!

A wardrobe that works feels very different. It’s seamless. It makes sense. You open your closet and you’re not overwhelmed or second guessing everything. Pieces go together. You’re not forcing an outfit, you’re just… getting dressed!

There’s an ease to it that’s hard to explain until you feel it. And what I’ve noticed, over and over again, is that when getting dressed becomes easier, everything else starts to feel easier too. Your mornings feel lighter. You leave the house feeling more like yourself. You’re not carrying that subtle frustration with you into the rest of your day. It’s a small shift, but it changes a lot!

This is why I always say that styling isn’t really about clothes. It’s about removing friction from your life. It’s about creating a wardrobe that actually supports who you are now and where you’re going, instead of one that feels slightly out of sync. Because getting dressed shouldn’t feel like a daily puzzle you have to solve. It should just… work!

I hope everyone has had a beautiful week. Mine has felt really nice and grounding after a couple of very full, very exciting weeks with clients. I’ve been able to slow down just a bit, catch my breath, and get back into some of my favorite routines. More workouts, more time connecting with my body, and a little space to reset my mind after the recent whirlwind.

That said… there was still a very exciting moment this week. I officially booked a new client, which always feels so special, and this Sunday I’ll be dressing someone for the Oscars. Even typing that feels surreal. It’s such a bucket list moment as a stylist and I’m honestly just feeling really grateful and excited to be part of something so iconic.
