I became a mom, watched Drew turn into a tiny person with a very big personality, kept working as an L&D nurse, and along the way found out we’re having bebe #2!

Life has been full. In the best way, but also in the how is it almost September? kind of way.

But I’ve missed this.

A place where I can actually finish the thought.

My notes app is still overflowing with the noteworthy stuff: navigating motherhood, all the foodie things, creating cozy curated spaces in our home (all while balancing out all the bebe items that take over), travel hits, finding the good coffee spots, and all the little things that make everyday life feel a little more elevated.

3 THINGS I’M EATING / DRINKING !

• Anything on the grill! Our go to is bbq chicken thighs using this sauce as a marinade. Paired with any grilled veggie!

• I’ve been a LONG time MALK fan and they’ve recently brought back their pumpkin spice almond milk (so bomb) + released a new product: cinnamon coconut milk creamer. I got my hands on it + can confirm it is DELISH in time for the fall season.

• My go to side salad! Chopped butter leaf lettuce, tomatoes, and red onion dressed with Brightland balsamic + champagne vinegar, Algae Cooking Club garlic oil, oregano, S+P. UNREAL YOU GUYS.

  

  CURRENTLY WATCHING: FURIOUS on Hulu!!! It’s a show that my husband and I watch together. New episode out TONIGHT and I can’t wait.

THINGS I’M LOVING !

• Eating dinner all together: it is not only such a sweet time for all of us to be together but it also teaches Drew to sit down for meals and has paid off when we go out to eat at restaurants!

• Tiny luxuries: Perusing the farmers market for fresh meat, eggs, + produce! Buying flowers to brighten up our home. Morning walk, pastry/bebeccino dates with the fam. Basically, making ordinary days feel a little less ordinary.

• Not using a traditional diaper bag: I’ve noticed a lot of the time we don’t need half the things in our diaper bag for our little outings. I’ve been turning to my cute totes and shoving snacks, a water bottle, diaper and wipes in there. My current summer tote (extra 40% off with code SHOPSALE)

• poplin pants (love these ones from GAP they’re very similar to the Leset ones)

• my hair is either up in a clip or I have a hat on! I’ve been obsessing over this clip

• Manna Bakery: OMG the pastries are absolutely out of this world. A must go. The Jerusalem bagel with muhammara dip + choc chip cookies is our fave!

• Mixteca: a new Mexican spot that just landed in Fishtown. Love that it’s a small menu + the cocktails look amazing. Another nearby spot I absolutely love that is more elevated is AMA. Wood fire cooking + the ambiance is noteworthy.

• 7th Street Burger: insane insane insane smash burger. Love that it is $6.50, simple, + again a small menu. There is a cutie outdoor space too.

• Templeton Garden: this is where we stayed! I loved that it was next to the tube so getting around was easy and the restaurant in the hotel is DIVINE! However, I’d rec staying in the Mayfair, Marylebone or Shoreditch neighborhood! More to do!

POSTPARTUM CHATS!

Three, almost four months postpartum, and I find myself thinking a lot about those early days when everything felt so new and tender.

Sometimes I wish I could go back to the day we had Drew and hug that version of myself. I’d tell her to slow down. To not feel the pressure to jump right back into life so quickly. To sit in those quiet moments a little longer, because they pass faster than you could ever imagine. To trust her instincts and never let anyone make her feel guilty for doing things her own way.

When the time comes for another bebe, I know I’ll move through that postpartum season differently. But I’m also incredibly proud of the version of me that navigated that time while learning so much all at once.

I can’t believe I am back to work in two weeks! It feels incredibly bittersweet. I try not to think too deeply about the time I’ll miss with my girl… because I instantly turn into a puddle of tears.

But I also know this: returning to work will be good for me. I’ve always been someone who loves to work, and I truly love what I do—supporting women through some of the most meaningful and vulnerable moments of their lives.

And one day, I hope my daughter looks back and sees how hard her mama worked to give her the life she has. More than anything, I hope I’m a mom she’s proud of.

In the words of my good friend Jordyn… in the world of Kardashians I’m definitely a Kim, not a Kort!

Quick Travel Tips!

• Feed during take off + landing: helps with bebes ears popping

• Try to get bulkhead seats where airline provided bassinet can attach! Must inquire with airline to see if they have it in stock!

• Bring change of clothes for baby AND yourself! For the inevitable blow out :)

• Baby wear in airport- allows you to use stroller for bags, can wear them through TSA (you will need your hands), keeps them from getting exposed to too many germs

• Wait to check stroller at gate (free) also less likely to get damaged! Car seat is also free to check!

• Use a pacifier clip- less sanitizing & scrambling looking for it when it drops

• Breast milk/formula can be brought through security!

• Diaper bag doesn’t count towards your 2 carry ons!

• Stuff your car seat travel bag full of baby stuff! Ex: Diapers, wipes, clothes, anything baby!

• Make sure to call hotel to make sure they have bassinet/crib + BF fridge “medical fridge”

• Bring toys that have never been played with! New ones are exciting for them!

FOXFIRE MOUNTAIN HOUSE! A mountain chic escape in Catskills, NY. I DREAM about returning here one day. This trip was SO dreamy + the absolute coziest.

The rooms are simple + quaint. I love that there are no TVs because it really forces you and your partner to connect.

The living room has this amazing fire place that I loved having coffee at in the morning and a cocktail at night.

There is a room full of cards + board games that we played at night with a record player + fire going.. can you picture the vibe?? Just perfect.

The food is to die for. In the morning, the smell of bacon and fresh pastries wakes you up. The chef here is always cooking up something special. Everything is local, homemade, and farm to table. Breakfast and HH are included in your stay. The dinner on premise is definitely worth experiencing too. Just delicious. They have hiking trails if you are outdoorsy and if you are a skier- Belleayre is ~15-20 mins away and an amazing place to ski. They have gondolas!! Hunter Mountain is ~30min away. FYI the inn is for adults 18+ but they have cabins you can book that are child + pet friendly!

Motherhood has been a hot topic in my inbox and how I’ve been able to adjust back into “regular” life. Between my family/friends and you guys reading and following along on Instagram, I feel extremely flattered by all the compliments thrown my way. To be honest, I’ve loved navigating back into my reality with Drew. It’s of course extremely different + challenging, but having her has made me view everything in a completely different light. I especially feel this when I encounter another parent- I see the strength, the sacrifice, and the softness. I’ve never felt more proud to be a mom.

I have to mention the biggest part of my transition being so smooth is Aidan. Having a hands on partner who is willing to jump right in, research, and figure things out with me has made getting through these past couple weeks manageable. First time parenting is no joke and there is information overload. Ultimately, we just do what works best and feels right to us. A little logic mixed with intuition! It definitely takes some time to figure out but so far we seem to have a pretty good system going and I am really proud of us! Our priorities have shifted for the better and it has been so fun adding Drew to our little life.

*I want to preface that I’m no baby expert + every baby is different so take this post with a grain of salt. We wanted to invest in items that would last us a long time because baby stuff quickly adds up! So lots of transitional “grow with me” items! If you have questions about a certain product not listed feel free to ask me and I’ll give you my honest opinion!

ITEMS WE HAVE BEEN LOVING!

FEEDING:

• Spectra S1 Blue Breast Pump: not a wearable but the pump that fully empties me in MINUTES! Your insurance should cover this! Check www.aeroflowbreastpumps.com (they give you breast milk bags/parts every couple months too!)

• Ceres Chiller: AMAZING when you’re out/or back to work and need a place to store your breast milk. Game changer.

• Pigeon + Evenflo bottles- the nipples mimic the breast so perfect for pumping/combo feeding. My tip: don’t waste money on the 4oz bottles, they grow out of them so quick! Get the 8oz!

• Formula: Bobbie Organic Whole Milk! Closest to breast milk w/ good fats!

• Baby Brezza Formula Dispenser: one of those things that once you have it, you can’t live without. When you have a screaming child, only one hand + need a bottle in 10 seconds you’ll appreciate.

• Momcozy Bottle washer/dryer/sterilizer: We don’t run our dishwasher daily but we run this daily. SO worth it. Fits more than the baby brezza one.

• Travel bottle washer/dryer: perfect for on the go travel

• Paci’s! SO nice Drew loves these, it helps sooth her! We love the bibs + frigg brand!

SLEEPING:

• Swaddles! We really loved the Taking Cara Babies swaddle because of the silent closure, The Halo (loved the fleece for winter), and Love To Dream! All of these are great because they can be used when they eventually roll, allowing the arms to be out!

• Hatch Sound Machine! We love the portable for traveling and the Hatch Baby for her room!

• Muslin Burp Cloths- the best.

DIAPERING:

• Coterie: hands down the best diapers. TCF and the MOST absorbent. They can last a whole night! Diapers are on your babys bottom all day, every day, IMO it is worth it to spend a couple extra dollars on this. Their skin is so fresh + sensitive! Code: JASHAMILTON for 20% off your first diaper order!

• Coterie Wipes: also elite. They are thick and the perfect size, which in turn allows you to use less.

• Triple Paste: the most effective. It’s super thick so make sure to get a spatula so you don’t have to get this stuff stuck under your nails.

CLOTHING:

• If we are being practical here babies really only wear footie pajamas for the first several months. I really loved the magnetic me ones for the first two months but now that Drew is big her belly pops the magnets open so really the double zip bamboo footies are the way to go! My fave here!

HEALTH/TOILETRIES:

• Mustela cleansing water!! I love the smell, it’s very gentle on their skin, and there are no endocrine disruptors

• Tubby Todd Ointment: it is like magic cream. We use it on her face! Also use their baby wash for baths too!

• Baby tylonel: this is the kind we have on hand. Dye free! (also make sure to have a rectal thermometer!)

• Windi Pipes! for trapped gas or when they are backed up!

• Momcozy Nasal Aspirator + the Oogie Boogie picker!

GEAR:

• Bugaboo Kangaroo Stroller: PSA this stroller goes on sale every year during holidays so keep a look out, typically 15% off! I will go to my grave raving about this stroller. Perfect for your “heavy duty” stroller. LOVE how it comes with the bassinet/seat + adapters (even the car seat one too!), glides like butter over legit any terrain (hello city sidewalks), easy to open/close, storage basket holds up to 30lbs. Can be used for 2 even 3 kids but still very compact. Can close no matter which way your kid is facing. I literally tested out every single stroller and did countless hours of research. I feel passionate about the stroller topic lol.

• Nuna TRVL lx Stroller: perfect on the go/travel stroller. The auto close ft makes this stroller worth it in itself. Love that it can be used from birth-50lbs.

• Baby Bjorn Bouncer: please don’t make the same mistake I did and think you don’t need this because WOW it is A MUST HAVE! She is instantly content in it, takes supervised naps in it, and it also makes a fun play time activity for her too! Pro tip: get an extra cover so you have a back up when bebe does the inevitable blow out on the bouncer! Love this toy bar too!

• Nuna PIPA Aire rx car seat: SO light + rated one of the safest car seats! Also love that it can be used baseless for hopping in a quick Uber. Convenience is everything.

• Bugaboo Stardust Travel Crib: INSANELY light + compact. Trust me when you’re shlepping to your parents or traveling you want things that are compact and make sense. This playpen travel crib opens/closes easily and is super light.

• Nanit + Breathing Sleep Sack! love that I can access the nanit through my phone + the insights it gives! The sleep sack allows me to see bebes respirations!

• Snuggle Me Lounger! Love for *supervised naps + a little landing station before going on walks!

• Lovevery Playmat: so much fun for playtime! Love the black + white polka dot drape it comes with to help stimulate their brain!

• I pump more than I nurse so I found my pumping bras to be more worth it because they can still be used to nurse! Kind of like a 2 in 1! My fave here.

LESSONS LEARNED!

• For the first month. REST. Everything else can wait. Your bebe won’t be sleeping this long much longer! *feeling this now!

• Get rid of anything that doesn’t serve you. The clothes that don’t sit right, the relationships that don’t feel reciprocated. Make space for the new version of you to grow in.

• Taking time for yourself is not selfish. It is how you show up as your best self for your family.

• Prioritize time alone with your partner. No baby. Put it in the calendar. Do what you gotta do. The foundation of your home is the two of you. Make it strong <3

• Make your boundaries with family and friends known. You may think people know the obvious but in reality just NEVER ASSUME. Be clear.

• Find the little things that make you feel like you. These little things make all the difference!

The birth of a baby is also the birth of a mother! Don’t forget that! Every day you show up makes you a great mom. The last several weeks have been so raw. Your hormones shift like CRAZY. No matter how tough you are, you’ll never forget how people treated you during this vulnerable time. The people that showed up, checked on you, and gave you grace. Those are your people. The kind that makes you feel RICH in life. Rich mom energy forever xoxo

NOTEWORTHY TRAVEL OF 2025: from road trips to our time in the South of France it has been such a privilege to travel. We love how it continues to expand our palettes, mindset, and appreciation for other cultures.

SOUTH OF FRANCE! An absolute treat + definitely very boujee! There are direct flights out of PHL right to Nice! We hit a lot of the French Riviera- from St Tropez to Nice to Monaco to Saint Raphael. I was living my best rich mom life, dying to get back not pregnant to enjoy all the vino. SOF guide here!

WASHINGTON DC! An easy train ride away from Philly. Every foodie needs to get their tush here. SO many amazing restaurants. I loved walking around Georgetown and looking at all the homes. Just stunning. DC guide here!

THE SERIES OF EVENTS!

Tuesday November 11th

I have to add this day because little did I know my BFF was going to be my last patient before having my own little bebe!

• worked 6:45A-7:30P, had my best friend as my patient (don’t even get me started on how special this was)

• witnessed my BFF crush labor and deliver her beautiful baby girl before my shift ended! What an honor to be a part of that special moment. One I’ll hold onto forever.

Wednesday November 12th

just a normal day

• reformer at 6am

• had a meeting with Fishtown Handyman re: custom built ins

• met up with a friend for lunch (ps egg + cheese bagel at K’Far is next level- you need it)

• OB appt - 1cm dilated, got a membrane sweep

• irregular contractions started in the middle of the night, did not think much of it because it was irregular and I honestly didn’t even really know what I was feeling since I had nothing to compare it to. Basically rated them as “period like cramps”. Looking back, I would say I underestimated the intensity. They were pretty bad and I downplayed it because I wasn’t sure how intense things would get- they were enough to wake me up throughout the night every 20ish minutes.. barely got any sleep

Thursday November 13th

This day felt like an emotional roller coaster

• Arrived to work at 6:45AM- immediately bawled my eyes out the second I stepped into work. FLOOD of emotions- I was scared thinking of every worse case scenario, what if I’m not cut out to be a mom, what if something happened to me or the baby (working at a city hospital- we see the most insane cases), what if Aidan has to raise her alone, what if I can’t push her out. Were these even real contractions I was feeling overnight or am I just being dramatic!? I know it sounds crazy because I am in the field but it is just different when it is happening to you. Literally the most insane thoughts were coming to mind. I was immediately comforted by my coworkers who reassured me everything was going to be OK! I often think about those hugs I so badly needed and received in that moment.

• Tried to power through but honestly I wasn’t in the right state of mind. Luckily one of my coworkers offered to take my patient and I went over to OB triage where I was comforted by one of our NPs and two of our L&D nurses.

• Ended up going home early. I knew it wouldn’t be fair to whatever patient I had, they would be getting about 15% of me.

• Went home- took tylonel for the pain and a unisom to PTFO since I really didn’t sleep much the night before

• Woke up feeling like an entirely new human, double checked my hospital bag and made sure everything I needed was in there just in case anything happened

• Felt good enough to still make a dinner reservation Aidan and I had planned for after I got off work. UCHI! 1000/10 rec btw, it is phenomenal. We did the somakase where they customize a menu to your liking. I was definitely contracting in-between courses but they were breathable and I was just way too excited to try the new restaurant (classic Jas).

• Throughout the night I was still irregularly contracting but again didn’t think much of it since they were irregular.

Friday November 14th (DREW’S BIRTHDAY)!!!

• 6AM started contracting more regularly! Started timing them and they were 5 mins apart! I knew to track for at least an hour to see if they were actually regular. They were 3 mins long I thought there’s no way I must be timing them incorrectly.

• 7AM I’m still laying in bed and all of a sudden feel a little gush of fluid come out of me. I turn to Aidan and I say either I peed my pants or my water broke.

• I went to the bathroom hard core examining my underwear LOL. Threw on a pad and walked around for about 2hrs to see if I was still leaking. I had to make sure it was the real deal. If I showed up to my WORK and my water wasn’t broken after thinking it was… immediate JAIL. I would never come back.

• The contractions were tolerable, I could breathe through them but they were definitely still regular. I took a long hot shower- that was actually soothing AF! Then folded a batch of laundry. Aidan was rushing trying to finish up work he had to do that morning before passing it off to his coworkers.

• The contractions started getting a little more painful and I was still leaking so I texted my charge nurse to warn her I was coming in and told Aidan it was time to go to the hospital.

• HOLY SHIT THAT CAR RIDE. It was about 15mins to the hospital but SO PAINFUL. The contractions started getting more intense and I was trying to breathe through them pulling my entire body up on the hand bar above the window to get the pressure off my tush. I was definitely back seat driving getting snippy with Aidan and telling him to drive FASTER LOL.

• I told Aidan to drop me off at the ED entrance so I could just zip through with my ID badge to get to L&D while he parked the car. I told him I could go by myself because I knew I had about 5 minutes to get to L&D before the next contraction came.

• As I was going through security the damn metal detector went off. I have no idea what it was I literally just had my water bottle and my purse, maybe it was the water bottle. I was like SHIT knowing I was counting down the minutes until the next contraction.

• As security is looking through my bag I look at him and I go “OH NO IT’S COMING” and he looks at me and goes “OH NO WHAT’S COMING” and a singular tear drops down my face and I say "a contraction!!!” and then I immediately have to bend over the table to breathe through it. I am cracking up because he starts panicking and yells for someone to grab a wheelchair to whisk me away and mid contraction I was begging him “please no I don’t want to be dramatic”. He ignores me and basically tells me to sit my ass down in the wheelchair LOL. A sweet ED tech pushed me to the L&D floor.

• Since my coworkers were expecting me I went straight to a L&D room! By this point I was in THE WORST PAIN OF MY LIFE. All I knew was PLS get me that DAMN EPIDURAL. PS remember those 3 minute long contractions I was timing? Yeah.. they were actually 3 mins long on the monitor so that made me feel better that I wasn’t going crazy and was actually feeling what I was feeling.

• Logistically the docs/nurses have so much they need to cram in before the epidural. Consent forms, ultrasound, vital signs, IV, fluid bolus, cervical exam. I remember looking at the anesthesiologist, cutting off what he was saying and being like I consent to everything and went “AHHH” and stuck out my tongue so he could look down my throat. My L&D nurse missed my IV on the first try and I was being drama for a second and was like F U! Lol it was all out of love. I work with these people on a daily basis so it was like being in labor in front of your family. Comfort level 100.

• Once all the initial things I mentioned above were complete my fave OB chief resident checked my cervix and I was only 2cm. WTF! I swore the pain was getting worse and intensifying every contraction. How could I only be 2cm! I sat up for my epidural which let me tell you.. IMO was the WORST part. The pressure was absolutely insanity. That was the moment I felt like I can’t do this. My empathy for patients sitting in that position contracting- immediately skyrocketed. I will forever be grateful for my nurse, Erin, who held me and let me squeeze the sh*t out of her and my incredible anesthesiologist who got to work to get me comfy.

• Let me tell you when that epidural hit I was like wow this is so beautiful I have never loved something so much HA! Can’t rec enough. Felt like I could conquer the world. I could still feel intense pressure in my butt but the pain was gone and that’s all I cared about.

• Once I was comfy, I got re-examined 20 minutes from being 2cm because the pressure was so intense. I made change to 3cm but I was almost completely thinned out. So I was making quick change! During my cervical exam they noticed baby girl was facing sunny side up which is not in favor when pushing- although many babies are born that way it is notorious for prolonging the pushing process. Having that info- I knew I wanted to either do spinning babies to get her to face down looking at the floor or be manually rotated when it was time to push.

• My nurse Erin did spinning babies on me then I took a 45min nap.

• I woke up and the OB on service that day wanted to examine me because baby girl was giving signs on the monitor that something was happening.

• I was 10 cm!!! I couldn’t believe how fast things were progressing. I was only 0 station though so I know this is a hot take but I wanted to labor down sitting upright in a 90 degree position with my knees together to get baby girl to come down some more before pushing. I swear it works! Also wanted to give myself time to process everything.

  

• It was finally time to start pushing and the best news - Drew turned and was no longer sunny side up! YAY!

• My OB (shout out Dr. Cullen, the GOAT!) that I have been seeing my entire pregnancy made a special appearance to deliver me and in that moment it felt like I was getting all of my wishes which I will forever be grateful for. It was a little after 12:15pm and I remember her coming in saying I have to go to clinic at 1pm and in my head I thought that was overly generous of her to think I could get this baby out in time for her to make that.

• I pushed for 45 mins and at 1:04PM out came our beautiful Drew girl <3 screaming her lungs out with the largest cone head and her cord wrapped around her body like a belt- already a fashionista!

• I could replay that moment of her making her way onto my chest over and over again. It was pure magic. I’ve always dreamed of becoming a mom since I was little and it was finally happening.

• To have Aidan by my side holding onto me the entire time and seeing our girl healthy and looking at us with those big beautiful eyes was truly everything I could have ever dreamed of. I feel beyond lucky. Pinching myself daily because what a privilege it is to be her mom.

Truly the best birthday party ever. Forever grateful for my team- a healthy mama + healthy baby is all I ever wanted. A million thank yous to everyone that has reached out. We are overwhelmed with all of the love <3

PINE STREET GRILL: from the makers of Her Place Supper Club & My Loup is there next baby- Pine Street Grill. They are serving up elevated bar food. Anything Amanda Shulman puts her hands on is gold.

CERVEAU: from the makers of my fave pizza spot in PHL (rip pizza brain). A cozy pizza place located on Spring Garden St with small + large plates serving lunch + dinner. Dying to get here ASAP.

UCHI: what I call my “last supper” because this was my last meal before going into labor with Drew. Omg I still dream of this meal. It is FANTASTIC. The ambiance, the food/drinks, + service. All to die for. I love that they offer a “somakase” which allows you to curate a tasting menu with your waiter/waitress. You tell them how much you want to spend and they’ll work with you to curate something special. Some dishes I still dream about: sake tom kha, wagyu carpaccio (think crying tiger inspired), hot rock, otoro nigiri, madai crudo, and please do yourself a favor and DO NOT skip out on dessert. They have an in house pastry chef who is whipping up insane mind blowing dessert combos. The Jasmine Cream is a must order.

WHAT I’M DOING TO PREP FOR LABOR :)

STAY: Drift Hotel SB- it was so perfect. The location, service, food + drinks! The standard rooms are a bit small but nonetheless gorgeous. We stayed in the Mountain View Premium and I thought the space was perfect for what we needed. On Tuesday nights they have live music which was so vibey and the oysters + mock/cocktails they have at DUSK were elite. Best N/A spicy marg I’ve had! Location is right in the heart of town- very walkable!

MONTECITO: ~10 min drive from downtown SB. I absolutely fell in love with this area of SB. Montecito Country Mart + The Post Montecito is an absolute MUST!!! I took a bomb reformer class at Homebody Studios -located at The Post. Take a class, grab a cappuccino w/ honey + cinnamon and a slice of banana bread at Little King Coffee, then go peruse the shops. Afterwards, take a dip at Butterfly Beach. Perfect perfect AM if you ask me!

OJAI: ~40mins from SB. You could make it a day trip or an overnight trip! If you choose an overnight stay you must check out Hotel El Roblar! It is jaw dropping + right across the street from Rory’s Place which you will want for dinner plans!

2. Levi’s low loose denim ($65): I missed jeans so much as my bump was growing. Found these babies and sized up to a 31! They are affordable + let me rock my denim on denim looks

Hearth 76” Oak Credenza | Rodin Ochre Chair | Armoire Wardrobe Closet

Excited for some home updates! We have a new credenza + dining chairs on the way to spruce up our first floor. Adding roman shades to our kitchen windows which I feel like will really tie the kitchen together. We also recently had our contractor out to quote us on some custom built-ins that have been on our wishlist forever. Also, getting started on our nursery! Awaiting the wallpaper delivery :) Excited to take you guys along the journey!

Dance Robot: anyone counting down the days until Royal Izakaya sister restaurant opening!?! I’ve been to Her Place Supper Club twice this month and each time I pass by creeping on when the opening is. Apparently very very soon.

Sao: a crudo + oyster bar that recently opened in East Passyunk! Mawn’s sister restaurant, good luck getting a reservation. Good thing they do offer some walk-in seats :)

4. Perelel Cellular Hydration Powder ($45): it is SO SO SO important to slowly hydrate every morning after going so long without water during sleep (ESP DURING PREGNANCY)! I love this hydration powder because it is clean + effective. They also recently came out with travel packs that are perfect for on the go!

5. Belly Band ($20): for the long days at work- this saves my back! It lifts some weight out of my pelvis to give me relief.

Portland, Maine feels like the place where you can take a breath of fresh air and never have a bad meal. The vibes are relaxing, the town is walkable, and it has quickly turned into my favorite weekend getaway! I have way more recs than a quick 72 hours but if I were to curate the perfect 72hr itinerary it would look something like this…

THE NOTEWORTHY 72HR ITINERARY

THURSDAY!

• Arrive by noon to soak in an afternoon at Portland Head Light, grab a lobster roll from Bite Into Maine (food truck) sit along the water at one of the picnic tables and bask in the sun, enjoy the breeze, and breathtaking views.

• Take a short hike along the trail that overlooks the water, maybe even dip your toes at the finish line where you’ll find some people taking a swim or scuba diving!

• Grab a gelato from Gorgeous Gelato to cool off!

• Check into your Air BnB or hotel, I loved staying at the Inn at Parkspring but if you’re a boutique hotel lover check out Blind Tiger!

• Street + Co for dinner- order the tuna tartare, branzino, + lobster linguini!

• Peruse the shops along the water: shipwreck & cargo, blanche + mimi, and mexicali blues

• Head over to Portland Lobster Co. on the water for a blueberry beer + live music! If you’re still hungry- calamari + lobster :)

  FRIDAY!

• The second you open your eyes, walk to Tandem Coffee + Bakery (they open at 8a), I beg you to order the Kimchi Cheddar Scone (sounds weird, but it is to die for) and the savory biscuit! You honestly can’t go wrong with anything here. The iced cold brew is delish too, V potent.

• Get your steps in, bring a picnic blanket and walk to the Eastern Promenade to sit on the hill overlooking the water and peruse all the food trucks that line up! I personally love the Mr. Tuna truck for handrolls!

• Next, head to The Post Supply (loved this store so much)!

• A couple doors down head to Onggi that has the cutest market, but also has an amazing matcha cafe. If you’re in need of a mid day matcha pick me up (this trip was a sober venture for me)! Or head to Oxbow Brewing if you’re looking to day drink (they also have duck fat fries)!

• While you’re at it- The Shop at Island Creek is next door so you might as well get cozy at their picnic style spot and snack on a dozen oysters!

• For a snack- head to Highroller for a lobster roll (was V impressed)

• For dinner- Crispy Gai is an absolute MUST! Order: Hat Yai Fried Chicken, sauce party, som tom (papaya salad), crying tiger ribeye, and all the dessert. ALL the cocktails are freaking delicious, it’s a must (Same, Same but Different). If you’re pregnant, don’t skip the mocktails, they are also DELISH! I loved the Thai Herb Tonic!

SATURDAY!

• Brunch at Smalls which doubles as a cutie store and cafe! Order the iced dirty chai (they use DONA!) and a breakfast sandwich!

• If you’re a sushi lover, you’re going to head over to ISF Trading which is a hidden gem! You order on the first floor then take your lunch up the the staff cafeteria to enjoy. You can make your own handrolls! It is SO affordable because you are buying directly from the fishermen! This is where restaurants get their fish from to serve!

• Oyster HH at Lil Chippy’s from 3-5pm

• Head to Cong Tut Bot across the street for their HH from 5-6pm! Vietnamese street food + their cocktails/mocktails are super yummy!

• Dinner at Scales- it’s iconic for a reason. Grilled octo for an app is a must, it was the best octo we had. You can never go wrong with Lobster here and definitely order a cocktail.

• For a late night bite- you’re going to head to Roasty’s for the best roast beef sandwich of your life (I love the Boston style).

  SUNDAY!

• Breakfast at Bread + Friends, it’s a must. They make all their bread in house, the sourdough is out of this world. Must order: crab omelette, smoked bacon, and pastries for the table. I also ordered a side of sourdough with butter + jam. Simplicity at its finest.

• You’re probably getting ready to get all packed up so stop by MatchaMood (I loved this matcha better than Onggi) for a caffeine boost + get your bags packed! Order: Iced coconut water matcha!

• Ramona’s for a hoagie to go for your journey home! It’s a Philly sandwich shop so you know.. it is to die for :) However, if you order the Italian tell them to hold the olive spread! Yuck!
