Mostly he was deep in the Neverland he would live forever tethered to. So we too were only ever halfway there.

That guy and his middle finger were all he could see now. It was the bell that set him off to the races. Speeding off the highway and then over lawns of homes like life was some kind of video game with no real consequences. At twenty-one, he was already an addict for almost a decade, and behaviors like this were already becoming well-worn tracks in his personality. He was the charming, heart-on-his-sleeve kind of shady.

The kind of guy who would love you then leave you only after you discovered he had stolen your family's heirlooms.

He lived on the edge, always lucky that he didn’t kill someone with his constant recklessness. Makes you wonder if some people truly have luck on their side or angels watching out.

With my nine-month-pregnant mother in the car, my little brother who was about four, and her little sister who was twelve, he carried on like they were all on a roller coaster ride together. Except he forgot to read the sign that said:

“No pregnant woman or kids under 3ft.”

Diane was crying in terror. My mother was grasping her belly and the assist grip, and little Jason was taking his cues from them, wailing his eyes out.

I actually believe my father felt invincible. Like it was nothing more than an arcade game that he played like a virtual reality. And we, it seemed where the non-player characters. The mortal ones who, in contrast, threatened his game.

Over a decade later, that invincibility would meet its maker as his body flew through the sky and landed on the pavement. A harsh lesson to learn that motorcycles are more than just toys for boys. In my father’s story, that motorcycle became the Grim Reaper of Mortality itself.

It turns out, wind in your hair and roaring speed don’t hold a candle to a jolt to your system of seeing your leg lying on the street twenty feet from your body.

Losing his leg slowed him down for a short while. Made him reflect, perhaps seek God or some kind of higher purpose to his life, because they said he should not have survived that kind of accident on that level of intoxication. But drugs and alcohol were already a part of his makeup since childhood, a sort-of God he bowed to, and his constructed refuge of Neverland remained forever until the end, his trap.

And that child, inside my mother’s womb, although scheduled to be born a week later, arrived that night. Born of chaos and mania, into a home where Neverland and the real world collided like thunder and lightning.

But I was a rainbow.

My mother, brother, and I would live our lives not only surviving the mania but finding ways to refract the chaos into beauty and purpose.

I was born with PTSD. I had a fragile nervous system and, like my mother, psychic sensitivities. I felt too much. As a child, I had a lisp, walked funny, had belly issues, and was extremely shy and quiet. I paid attention like a hawk and listened like an owl. I developed high perception and became acutely aware of my surroundings. Not uncommon for children of addicts.

I’ve never seen a therapist or psychologist. So, I’ve never been diagnosed with anything or ever been medicated. I’ve lived a remarkably sober life.

For over thirty years, I’ve created a very intentionally toxic-free household. You won’t find chemical cleaners under my kitchen sink. Vinegar and baking soda have always done the job well. We don’t use chemical soaps in the dishwasher, the sink, the washing machine, or the shower.

And this isn’t a trend I picked up along the way; it’s just simply been my way of being. I do have strong Virgo.

I come from generations of addiction and mental illness on both sides of my family. Chaos was part of the ecosystem I arrived into. I have watched what happens when a sensitive nervous system is surrounded by conflict, toxicity, overstimulation, and instability.

And I have watched what happens when that same system is given support, cleanliness, predictability, nourishment, fresh air, quiet, compassion, and space to be who it is.

My home today is a smorgasbord of neurodivergence and vastly different ways of being. ADHD, Asperger’s, OCD, PTSD - a whole spectrum of unique human wiring living under one roof.

I’m not saying a pure environment cures anything. And I’m not saying neurodivergence or mental illness can be reduced to household products or lifestyle choices. I am saying simply that environment matters.

I have spent my life creating the kind of home I needed. A kind of medicine for the soul. A sanctuary. I learned a lot about this from my mother.

Like a rainbow that provides a quiet moment of peace and renewal after the storm.

It really wasn’t like this twenty-five years ago when I was becoming a professional. The teachers I learned from were deeply wise and seasoned in the trade, who had earned decades of credentials and authored books that most still refer to now.

I honed my craft for seven years of professional training and hundreds of charts before I ever deemed myself a professional astrologer. That followed a decade of running a healing clinic, where I unwaveringly upheld the highest ethical standards when engaging with the psychic fields of others.

I share this because it’s interesting to know what’s behind the work of an artist before you take it into your own hands. Beware of the “influencers” who are using AI to generate astrological reports who are not even astrologers!

True astrology champions personal sovereignty and responsibility; anything less is a disservice.

With Pluto now transiting Aquarius for the next twenty years, the collective consciousness is broadening its view.

When I was a little girl, I remember seeing a storybook with my brother’s name woven through it and wishing I had one.

I didn’t know then that I was feeling the first pull of something that would take me until thirty more years to create. But I knew the ache of watching someone else be named and wanting to be named too. I wanted to be seen accurately and to have my own story told back to me in a way that felt like recognition.

That wish has since become four books.

I see people who have studied astrology for years, who know their Venus sign, who can tell you about their Nodes, who’ve read the books and taken the courses, and who still cannot sit down with a chart and read the soul.

They were given definitions that lack structure, and structure that lacks rhythm, and none of it ever landed in the body.

This is what I sought to resolve.

The Soul Map: A Personalized Astrological Birthday Book.

The idea came one night like lightning. The astrology chart is a sacred birthright, and everyone deserves to know their soul blueprint. But not everyone wants to sit with a reader.

I poured three years, 90,000 words, and every ounce of devotion into birthing this book, right alongside my youngest daughter entering the world. Those years were a shape-shift. Neptune was opposing my Sun, squaring my Moon. Creation was pouring through me, and grief was remaking me, and everything familiar was falling away.

I moved six thousand miles from home, and my mother was mourning the passing of her life partner. If you know Neptune, you know that transit dissolves the shoreline. I became the hollow bone, the blank page, and through it all, this book was writing me just as much as I was writing it.

Back in 2018, when I first began making these books by hand while living in Florida, I used to drive a few blocks to the local print shop. After a while, the owner and I became neighbor friends, and he learned how to work with all my crazy file formats and specialty papers. I was there so often people thought I actually worked there!

I’d digitally piece together all the specific write-ups for the chart, print it, piece it all together again, punch the holes, coil-bind it, wrap it up like a gorgeous luxury gift, and then drive to the post office to ship it out. It was truly a labor of love, and now, hundreds of people around the world still have those first handmade editions. My Virgoness was happy.

Then we moved back to Hawaii, and that sweet little print shop was a long drive away. Covid hit, so we bought a powerful home printer and kept the tradition going for a couple more years. Those post office lines were long! There was even a season where my husband tried learning how to make hardcovers and hand-bind the books so they’d look even more exquisite, but that turned out to be a serious learning curve!

These days, my daughter has taken over the magic. She constructs the books digitally, and we send them off to a printing and publishing company that now handles the production and delivery. It’s still a family affair, just evolved with the times. Still no AI.

Since 2018, over 600 copies have traveled the world to over ten countries.

Let me tell you why these other books exist.

You know, those recurring ideas in your mind, nudging you towards something you feel deeply drawn to? A desire that visits you time and again but you continue to ignore it because the timing or circumstances of your life don’t feel right for it.

Write that book… Call your family… Study the thing…

These voices aren’t just whims; they’re calls from our inner voice, urging us toward our soul-purpose. We can try to ignore them, avoid the threshold of fear, but they won’t go away!

I spent a decade evading the consistent urge to build my astrology school. Navigating life just me and my daughter, now 20, and later blending a family of eight, and the timing never seemed right.

But the voice grew louder and impossible to ignore. Then at last, I finally surrendered to it, not realizing I was driven by the force of the Saturn cycle itself. The great taskmaster, Saturn, was entering my 10th House, the realm of public responsibility and leadership, precisely when I decided I was ready to open my school (a once-every-30-years event).

Clearly orchestrated by the universe, ten years of “not yet,” and the sky had already written the date!

The next three books came out of that surrender.

Lunacy: A Reclamation of the Cyclical-self

Lunacy is not a book I just sat down and wrote. It’s a compilation of my life’s work with the lunar cycle over three decades. Thirty years of tracking the Moon and psyche.

Through all the many seasons and dark nights of my life, the Moon was the one constant. The lunar cycle is the Zen I return to, to tap in, tune in, and center.

This book was not made from research; it’s exactly what I did in the dark nights.

Why this book is the red thread.

I don’t think you can accurately read cycles in a chart if you have never felt one move through your own body. That’s the whole reason so many students stall out. They’re studying cycles as an abstraction, from the outside, when the thing being described is happening inside.

Reclamation is the right word because this isn’t a new skill you’re acquiring; your personal rhythm is an intelligence that you were born with and were taught to override.

Tracking your own psyche is about sovereignty, and using the lunar cycle as a clock is just natural.

We love astrology

Revolutionary Books & Courses

So, here we are on the cusp of the next big month, with an Eclipse Season that promises a real shift. The next will be on August 28th, a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse at 4° Pisces/Virgo.

First, I just want to address the posts from people who perpetuate the idea that eclipses are some kind of “malefic” event. In my opinion, these are people who impress fear upon change; a “malefic influence” from an eclipse is a perspective, not a fact. In the same way that Saturn or Pluto events are not inherently negative. There are no good or bad aspects in astrology. There are more and less challenging, but not better or worse.

“Good” and “bad” statements are not real astrology; that’s human fallacy.

Don’t get me wrong, we all have a natural degree of fear towards the unknown and that which we can’t control. I understand the gesture of an impending grand event causing trepidation. But the idea that a scheduled planetary event is going to erupt negative influences into all our lives is as ridiculous as stating that this will be “the luckiest month of the year.” It just doesn’t happen that way. Eclipses are not like a natural disaster that leaves a catastrophe in its wake. This is not a tsunami warning.

Although, for many, on a psychological and emotional level, it may feel like a tidal wave of an emotional month to wade through. Eclipses do indeed unearth content from the deeper recesses of our psyche and subconscious. It’s a lunar thing. And to me, that could be a blessing.

So, moving on from addressing the fear-mongering and back to the focus…

Take a moment and look back over these past few weeks. You may be able to notice something in your own life that’s come to a completion; something you can feel is not going to be pulled into this next chapter with you. And perhaps you can feel the energy of a bigger new chapter on its way. That is the eclipse cycle already pulling at the tide of your own psyche.

Eclipses are windows: things going out and things coming in. And the going out always begins before we understand what is arriving.

The Make of It

One of the biggest planetary alignments that I’ve been tracking is the power of Jupiter, the Great Expander, moving into Leo and coming into an opposition with Pluto, the Great Psychic Transformer, in Aquarius.

They will not hold an exact degree-to-degree opposition for the whole of Jupiter’s year-long journey through Leo, but they will hold it by sign, and trust me, with two powerhouses like these facing each other across the wheel, the distance in degrees hardly matters. It will be felt.

Already we are seeing the power meets power dynamic, getting louder. The “he said, she said” of it all. Everyone has an “important” opinion, and everyone is getting bolder, it seems. What I am seeing most clearly is the danger of the in-fighting between groups, between families, between institutions, as people’s “truths” become the very reason for the divisiveness.

The potency of this configuration cannot be stated enough, and I will keep speaking to it as the time continues. Because this is not only Jupiter and Pluto in Leo and Aquarius, but the North Node of the Moon is now in Aquarius and the South Node in Leo for the next eighteen months, which means every eclipse season ahead is lit by this very axis, giving us eclipses that are colored by Jupiter and Pluto - the big baddies of the sky drama.

So where is this happening in your own chart?

The North Node is in Aquarius with Pluto, and though the two of them travel in opposite directions, the Node counting backward from 29°, with Pluto inching forward from the early degrees, they are walking toward each other in the same sign. They will conjunct on November 16th, 2027.

The North Node is the North Star; our direction forward. It’s the direction the soul is meant to go, the path of evolution, and the future we have not yet lived. And when the North Node is activated by another planet, it amplifies. It pulls the future closer and quicker into the now.

So while the South Node of the Moon in Leo drags up everything unfinished and unresolved and dares you to claim what has been buried beneath it all, Aquarius is pulling the whole collective forward faster than we may feel prepared for. But as scheduled events go, it is time, and therefore, you are ready.

August is a month defined by the past and the future debating in real time. And as we know from the evidence of the patterns, routines, and the fact that today often looks very similar to yesterday - we know that the Past in our lives usually has the power, but this month the Future is the one with the real momentum.

Not Just Now But Later Too

It’s all carrying us toward a powerful passage at the close of this year and the opening of the next. Mid-November ‘26 brings Mars and Jupiter together at 25°Leo, sitting right on the South Node, and this is where the personal karma dump is going to get messy in our already messy lives. And like I said already, it’s not a “bad” messy.

It just is what it is - an opportunity.

Jupiter will meet that South Node three separate times before it is through. And Mars also will turn retrograde on January 10 (in Virgo), and back all the way into Leo to station direct at 20° Leo on April 1, the exact degree of today’s Total Solar Eclipse.

So something around January 10th will be reminiscent of things occurring now...

The eclipse seeds the intention at 20° Leo, and eight months later Mars comes to a full stop on that same degree, then turns to move forward again. What is being planted in the dark right now is what Mars will be triggering into a next-level actualization then.

Now is a good time to write down what’s coming up in your life; the good ideas, opportunities, challenges, breakthroughs, because now is a seed that will continue to grow and blossom into the early part of next year. And you may want a log to be able to properly track your psyche.

August 12th New Moon Solar Eclipse + August 28th Full Moon Lunar Eclipse

Eclipses, first of all, are portals into the subconscious and unconscious realms. A place we enter, and when we come out the other side, it’s not so much a return as it is a rebirth.

If you haven’t been paying attention to this particular clock, trust me, the hand of time serves up powerful change during the window of an eclipse season, and if you’re privy and prepared, they become an instrument for your next quantum leap. And I don't mean the theoretical or the hypothetical or the woo kind. I mean the one you've been working for.

I’ve been watching eclipse cycles for over twenty-five years, year after year, and they are not just openings into the deeper recesses of psyche and personal consciousness; they are, as portals go, transporters into the next level of the game of life - your life. And like any next level, they come with surprises, unexpected twists, challenges and confrontations to overcome, and epic obstacles to tackle.

They’re the psychic marathons of the year, where the cosmos holds up a mirror to your subconscious and asks you to get to work, and you hope you’ve been training well enough for this.

What now…

This eclipse cycle links back nine and eighteen years, to 2017 and 2018, and to 2007 through 2009, when the Nodes were where they are now, in the axis of Leo and Aquarius.

The Nodes of the Moon, which are a key feature in the eclipse phenomenon, are themselves the windows into the soul’s past and future, and how both are currently interfacing with the present. So it’s deep and rich territory, and we have entered.

If you can recall any significant events from those years that were shaping your life then, you may be able to find the thread connecting them to now. The theme running through is Leo/Aquarius: personal power, creative expression, individual contribution, unique abilities, and the recognition and actualization of your personal genius code.

This axis is also about the fun stuff. The things we enjoy doing and experiencing, and pay money to witness others doing. The arts, the entertainment; it’s about the embodiment and the expression of the Divine, and we each have our part to play and our moment to show up.

The New Moon Eclipse

But let’s talk Mercury, because as the Messenger of the Gods, Mercury is welcomed in all the realms, and who doesn’t want to be served all the good tea?! There is important information to be gathered at this time. Puzzle pieces are going to find their way into place, and answers are going to be downloaded from the heavens. Stay listening, stay engaged, and for the love of Leo, express and communicate yourself! It’s time.

On August 12th, Mercury starts the event alongside the abundant sugar daddy - Jupiter, who comes in with all the swag and bling turned way up in Leo. Jupiter’s year-long escapade in Leo carries a message that is all about livening up your life and turning up the dial on sexiness, joy, and fun. It’s about remembering your childside, your sense of adventure, and the joy of celebration for celebration’s sake. Because isn’t it just a gift to be alive?

So what to do?

If you want to know what to do and exactly how to work with this time, here it is: on August 12th and the days following, pay very close attention to what is coming up in your own psyche. What is surfacing from the subconscious realms? What are you becoming aware of from the unconscious? What conscious desires, goals, and dreams are you seeding into this now reality?

New Moons are ripe portal gateways where the soil of creation offers up a fertile bed to seed your highest hopes into. Stay present, stay tending the garden of your life and psyche, and witness what blooms. It may just become everything you have been nurturing for a very long time.

The Full Moon Eclipse

And Mercury, as usual, is fickle. By the time the Full Moon Eclipse comes around, Mercury has ditched the big daddy Jupiter and gone home with the Sun in Virgo for a more discerning affair. Through the ripple of that union, something big is going to birth in your life that just might be of everlasting value.

On the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse of August 28th, the light will illuminate what you have sown. You will see it, and so will everyone else, because this is where the purge and the power of purpose collide. It's a big bang of sorts that births the next epic saga of your life. Not everyone will feel the theatrics. But some of you are already standing in the biggest show of your lives, where the red carpet is only the next step.

What’s special about this Full Moon Eclipse is that it activates not the South Node, like the New Moon did, but the North Node. And the North Node is not the tail but the Dragon’s Head, the one that leads us into Destiny. The path of your soul's purpose and your bliss.

This is the "future is calling" portal. Opportunities, new ideas, and new people come into our lives and feel like a gift from the Universe. And that North Node sits at 29° Aquarius, the last degree, where an entire archetype concentrates itself into a single point and demands to be finished. Which is why this one carries an epic revelation, an ending, and a new beginning, all at once.

The Sun and Mercury in Virgo are the blessing that helps ground it all. So when the call comes, say yes before you have figured out how, because the North Node never arrives with instructions.

Watch, and see. Pay close attention and don't brush off the opportunities or the confrontations as random, as coincidence, as "sh*t happens." Notice what is moving and shifting, what is releasing, and what is showing up. And then come tell me what bloomed. I have been doing this long enough to know the stories are always better than the forecast.

San Francisco fog, 1973: a woman is alone with an old manuscript she wrote years before anyone died. Her daughter has been gone less than a year. She has been drinking most nights, and most mornings too, and the house is too quiet in the haunting way a house gets quiet when a five-year-old is supposed to still be running through it.

“Some time after, in grief, and madness, a dreadful fiction was born to me out of the tragedy,” she would write, decades later - “a book that was most certainly allegorical though I never noticed.” - Anne Rice

Anne Rice, in her memoir Called Out of Darkness: A Spiritual Confession, described her vampires, witches, and ghosts as metaphors for three things living inside every person: the outsider in each of us, the predator in each of us, and the one who has to keep grappling with “cosmic uncertainty” while never resolving it.

The outsider, the predator, and the griever were framed as parts a person needs to integrate. Not metaphors for evil.

They were not monsters to be cast out.

The Dates

Here’s where the story gets interesting in a way that has nothing to do with vampires yet. I researched planetary cycles and dates.

Saturn and Uranus meet in an exact conjunction roughly once every forty-five years. Saturn, slow and structural, the keeper of every form and law. Uranus, sudden and electric, the thing that doesn’t give warning before it cracks a form open and breaks the law. Most people live through this planetary alignment once, maybe twice. Some are born into it.

Here are the past 300 years:

1761 → 1805 → 1852 → 1897 → 1942 → 1988 → 2032

• In 1897, that’s the year Bram Stoker published Dracula, months before that cycle’s conjunction went exact.

The book that invented the modern vampire arrived inside the same narrow window that all the others did as well, as I will show you.

I went looking at three more birthdates, pulled up the birth charts, and the pattern didn’t stop.

• Lestat de Lioncourt, in Rice’s own fiction, was born November 7, 1760 - six months before the 1761 conjunction.

• Anne Rice was born October 4, 1941 - seven months before the 1942 conjunction.

• Sam Reid, the actor who plays Lestat now, was born February 19, 1987 - twelve months before the 1988 conjunction.

Not one of them was born at the exact conjunction, but all three were born in the reach toward it, which is the Balsamic Phase. The phase of death itself before the rebirth. The phase that solemnly carries the burden of time and experience with the sole task of surrendering to it.

If you carry the Balsamic Phase yourself, then you know.

Let’s look at what Rice actually did with the people she loved.

The family built out of grief

She gave her vampires the real birthdates of the people the book was carved out of.

• Lestat’s birthday - November 7 - belongs to her husband, the poet Stan Rice. “Lestat was Stan and me,” she said. And later, more starkly, dropping even the “and me”: “Lestat was me.” In a note to her readers, she went further, his confidence, his blond hair, his blue eyes, that “feline grace,” all of it lifted whole from the man she’d married, joking the name might as well mean “the Stan.” Of that marriage, decades in, she said only: “ours is a great love affair.”

• Louis’s birthday - October 4 - is Anne Rice’s own. She would later say that “Louis was the hero.”

• Claudia’s birthday - September 21, given in her own diary in Queen of the Damned - is Michele’s real birthday (her late daughter). Rice first wrote an ending where Claudia lives. Then she had to write the true ending instead, a child dying the way her own child had died; it very nearly broke her. She’s described obsessive hand-washing, the sense of coming apart at the seams, of cracking, before she finally let the pages tell the truth she’d been avoiding.

And she specifically named the wound underneath all of it herself: characters shut out of belonging, shut out of meaning, and at the very last, shut out of life itself.

What the charts hold

Stan Rice carries five personal planets in Scorpio: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars. More concentrated in Scorpio than the vampire built from him. Rice didn’t just hand Lestat her husband’s birthday; she gave him the emotional architecture of a man already submerged in the exact underworld Lestat would fully express.

Lestat’s own Sun and Moon sit three degrees apart in Scorpio, identity and instinct fused with nothing between them to soften the collision. No distance, just want, desire, and surges of power and powerlessness.

All four - Lestat, Rice, Reid, and Stoker’s original Dracula- were born in the identical narrow phase of their generation’s Saturn-Uranus cycle: the last stretch before the conjunction, the balsamic, where the old structure is still bleeding out, and the new one hasn’t drawn its first breath yet.

This is the liminal space, not a hallway you pass through toward somewhere else, but a place that belongs to neither shore. You must go through the hall of endings before you can be renewed. A soul born here is trying to resolve patterns that it must fully live out first. It’s the long finale to a major karmic cycle of completion and revelation.

I am born with my Sun, Venus, Mercury, and Mars all in a tight Balsamic Phase to Pluto. My lot has been charged with serving death to so many patterns of my ancestral inheritance. And with Uranus conjunct my North Node in Scorpio (Pluto Ruling), I have always carried the torch of the Pattern Breaker. A task that has nearly erased me at times.

A Vampire is that astrological architecture. It is the balsamic threshold itself, in this case wearing the face of a Saturn-Uranus archetype - the anomaly locked into a timeless law.

Mortal life ended by rupture, a total breaking of the fixed law of the old order into an immortality - as the new cycle. Which is an inability to close the cycle.

The liminal is supposed to be a season, a single rite, a balsamic hour before the wheel comes back around. Lestat is the one who never finishes it. Two hundred and fifty years later, he still hasn’t arrived at whatever a completed vampiric order would even look like, because balsamic souls, by their nature, don’t get to fully arrive. They live in the eternal ending - patterns longing to be completed.

His horror and his ache are the same. To feel everything with a power few know, with only fleeting moments of illusions of reprieve.

What she said it was all for

She named her own vampires, in her own words, as “metaphors for the outsiders, the lost, the wanderers in the darkness who remembered the warmth of God’s light but couldn’t find it.”

And asked, decades into fame, whether she still felt like an outsider, her response was “Yes, I feel like an outsider, and I always will feel like one.”

She called Lestat, in her memoir, her own “dark search engine for twenty-seven years.” Asked once, plainly, what her process actually was, she said: “I go where the pain is.”

And where it all came from: “I was a sad, broken and despairing atheist when I wrote ‘Interview with the Vampire,’” she said once. “I didn’t know it at the time, but it was all about my daughter.”

Her daughter was just five years old when she died from leukemia. About five years later, she wrote the first novel that would catapult her to worldwide fame. Yet behind that success, she and her husband, Stan, were struggling with alcoholism.

She later acknowledged that the blood in the story served as a powerful metaphor for alcohol and her own addiction. She and Stan continued drinking for years, their alcohol use escalating from occasional binges to a daily dependency. Reflecting on that period, she admitted plainly, “I don’t know that I’d be alive today if I’d kept up the way I was going.”

It wasn’t until the birth of their son in 1978, followed by a conscious decision they made together in 1979, that they were finally able to stop drinking.

What her readers found in her

Interview with the Vampire found its truest home almost the instant it was published in 1976 among gay men, who I imagine recognized something in the bond between Louis and Lestat and in the defiantly unconventional family they built around Claudia.

Asked later in life about the queerness running through everything she’d made, she didn’t equivocate: “I think I have a gay sensibility and I feel like I’m gay, because I’ve always transcended gender, and I’ve always seen love as transcending gender.”

She named the loves in her books, Lestat and Louis, Louis and Claudia, Armand and Lestat, as carrying the same essential fire, with no hierarchy between them, and gave the whole of it her own phrase: polymorphous sensuality. In 2012, speaking of the decades Louis and Lestat spent raising Claudia, she called them exactly what they were: “the first vampire same-sex parents.”

She was a fierce, lifelong defender of gay rights, and by her own fans’ testimony, a genuine sanctuary for young readers still working out who they were. She reportedly said that she believed transgender people carried a rare and sacred vantage on life almost no one else would ever be given.

Love, in her account, was never really about the categories society insists on sorting it into. It was the bond itself, undefined, the same fire whether it moved between two men, between a father and the child he’d die a thousand deaths for, or between a mortal woman and the thing that made her deathless.

Generation after generation of readers, outsiders, who’d been told their own love needed sorting, hiding, explaining, found themselves inside those stories and could not let go. Because she handed them a truth she said she’d always already believed in.

The one who’s carrying it now

Sam Reid’s chart has the South Node in Libra, North Node blazing in Aries. This is a soul that has spent lifetimes finding itself wholeheartedly in relation to someone else, shaped by accommodating and by the partner’s needs. And now it’s reaching toward the destiny of an opposite discipline entirely: Aries; action that needs no one’s agreement first. Pure, self-authored will. And if you’ve seen the show, wow, is he fulfilling that archetype contract in the character Lestat.

Lestat, whatever depths his Scorpio carries underneath, moves like undiluted Aries. He takes, he acts, he has never once in two hundred and fifty years waited to be told that he’s allowed. Which means the man playing him is not performing a character opposite to his own nature; he’s actually spending years of his life rehearsing, in front of millions of people, the exact evolutionary lesson his own soul came into this body to learn. This is a soul having found the one part in the world built to teach it what it already came here for.

And Reid was born, like Rice, like Lestat, like the novel Dracula itself, in that same narrow balsamic window - twelve months ahead of the 1988 Saturn-Uranus conjunction, Saturn still reaching to close the cycle, not yet arrived. He is not outside the liminal architecture this whole piece has been describing; he is standing inside it too.

And the show is working today much as the story did in 1976. The novel immediately found readers who recognized something in it that no one else was offering. Nearly fifty years later, the story is doing it again, drawing in people who are searching for the same depth, mystery, and transformation.

A new generation finding itself inside Lestat’s unfinished crossing the same way an older one did on the page, proof that the balsamic hour Rice was born into never actually closed.

In a recorded message played at her memorial, Rice said what she’d wanted the whole time, the same words her vampires had been asking of the world:

“I want to be loved and never forgotten. I want to be immortal.”

You know the process of metamorphosis, from the caterpillar to the butterfly? That is Pluto territory. Death and rebirth through deep and personal identity confrontation, which usually always means a power struggle. You know the kind where you have to put down the thing you’re holding so you can pick up the thing you’re being handed?

That’s Pluto territory.

And Jupiter’s expansion? It’s like when life, or an experience, just feels full on. Bigger than ever, and it just keeps going.

So, are we each in for an expansion of transformation? It depends.

The Leo/Aquarius axis is about individuation and self-expression. That, in all its different forms, is what will be coming up in our lives. And when we really look at it, that involves power. The effect we have on other people. The effect other people have on us. And how all of that conditions us, and therefore shapes our lives.

We all have our own worlds orbiting around the center-of-self that we are, so this is going to look very different for everyone. But as far as intensely felt lunation’s go, this one is a winner!

And if you’re reading this, I’m going to guess you’re like me. You’re paying attention to the energies. You’re getting intentional in your own life about how to best optimize the potentials and frequencies streaming through. It’s all about the quality of our participation.

You know the saying: it’s not what you do but how you do it. A crisis or a blessing will be dealt with ten different ways by ten different people. That’s the point. We are sovereign beings.

That is what Leo/Aquarius stands for, and it is what this Full Moon and the coming eclipse season are ushering in.

And this is not just a “this season” event. The Nodes of the Moon have only just begun their eighteen-month journey through Leo and Aquarius. This is a rare and powerful portal: into the heart of personal power, and into a collective acceptance of our diversity.

The Moon comes full at 6° Aquarius on July 29th.

Within the same hour, the Sun meets Jupiter at 6° Leo. So the Moon is not opposing one light; she is opposing two. And she does it hand in hand with Pluto, the Lord of the Underworld, retrograde at 4° Aquarius.

Read the shape of it - Leo says I am. Aquarius says we are. Jupiter says more. And Pluto, as always, says deeper. Then, like Inanna, we are asked to remove something and leave it at the gate.

This is the Crown and the Roots, seated opposite one another in council at the cosmic table. And you are a guest.

This is the first Full Moon of a brand new nodal axis cycle. On July 26th, the North Node moved into Aquarius and the South Node into Leo, opening an eighteen-month eclipse corridor on this very axis.

And then…

That same day, Saturn stationed retrograde at 14° Aries. The next five months are about a new curriculum of the inner-world teacher asking you to return to and reconsider something that you have been building since February. It’s inner work.

It’s been a disruptive and shifty time for most of us, from 2025 right up to now. And that was the design. Saturn and Neptune kept stepping into Aries and slipping back into Pisces. Uranus kept crossing into Gemini and retreating into Taurus. All of them standing at a threshold, going over, then coming back to finish something.

Now they have landed. As of June 30th, when Jupiter crossed into Leo, every planet from Jupiter outward sits in Air or Fire. No Earth and no Water. This is not exactly a time marked by stability. It is about movement, discovery, pioneering, breakthroughs, and breakdowns of the old structures.

The babies being born into this will be the visionaries and the pattern breakers. Decades from now, they will take what we are trial-and-erroring our way through and turn it into real revolution.

For the next year, the only Earth-element emphasized by the planets is short-lived. We take the stability in the months when the inner planets - Mercury, Venus, Mars - move through Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn, and we hand it back when they move on.

Then it returns in stages. Jupiter ingresses into Virgo in July of 2027, the first slower planet to touch Earth again. Saturn ingresses into Taurus in April of 2028, and that is when structure itself finally has ground to stand on.

Until then, we flow with the expansion and the unpredictability of these Fire and Air influences. Venus will even take us through her 40-day retrograde this Oct-Nov from Scorpio (Water) into Libra (Air).

However, there is one important exception: Chiron is in an Earth sign.

Chiron moved into Taurus on June 20th, and it is only here for a few months, just dipping in before it retrogrades back into Aries in September. Then it returns next April, in 2027, for a long stay - seven years.

And for those of us born in 1976 and 1977, with Chiron in the first degrees of Taurus, this is one of the biggest initiations of our lives. The Chiron Return.

I look at Chiron as the bestie, or better yet, the twin brother to Uranus. They both carry that arc of soul evolution that pokes at the wound of the misfit, the outcast, and the awkward genius.

That “limp” each one of us carries, in one way or another. The one that makes us want to hide it away and conceal the suffering, as if it were not acceptable. As if showing it would cost us our chances at success or approval.

The lesson is always the same. To carry our “flaws” maturely and without shame. Not concealed, but held with dignity.

In this world, sometimes it takes a lifetime to get there.

With Chiron about to spend seven years in Taurus, we are all going to be supported to look at the money wounds, the body shame, and how far so many of us live from a grounded sense of self-love. This is exactly the territory the Chiron Return generation is pioneering. It’s where their real strength and genius live, as they are the ones who have been working through these issues for fifty years!

On the Full Moon day itself, Venus at 21° Virgo squares Mars at 21° Gemini. This is the first quarter square of the Venus-Mars cycle, and it carries a seed from their conjunction at 18° Capricorn back on January 8th, 2026.

That was a potent portal. Within three weeks of meeting each other, Venus and Mars each went on to cross over Pluto. Venus on January 20th, Mars on the 27th. Each one closing a cycle with the Great Psychic Transformer and beginning a new one. Mercury and the Sun passed through the same gate in the same week.

So think back -what relationship lessons were you working through in January, with yourself and possibly with someone else?

This first quarter square now is asking for a course correction. For you to decide which path you are actually going to walk, and where your energy is best focused.

Your Chart

Find 6° Aquarius and 6° Leo - that axis is where your psyche is being activated this week.

The Leo house is where you are called to feel more of your own desire. The Aquarius house is where you are called to share more of yourself and to contribute to the bigger picture.

One more thing. This is the last Full Moon before eclipse season opens with a total solar eclipse at 20° Leo on August 12th. We are already inside the shadow of it.

Whatever this Full Moon reveals in your life is an invitation that will lead you through the portal of August’s Eclipse Season.

This is what being connected to a symbolic language is. The outpouring of so much information simply by tuning into the symbol. It’s always about the psyche and the archetype signatures that have imprinted, as impressions do, upon the fabric of the interior walls of our consciousness. Like wallpaper of a different texture, we are decorated.

The lunar cycle is not a belief system. It is a sacred technology, one that has always been working, whether you pay attention to it or not. The moon phases illuminate the walls of your psyche.

The tides don’t wait for your understanding, and the Moon does not require your agreement to pull.

But the moment you become aware of the cycle, something shifts. You are no longer being unconsciously moved by forces that you cannot see. You begin to participate in the same movement that governs all living things on this planet.

This is the sovereignty I speak of, to consciously wield the very forces you are already one with.

This is what I mean when I say the lunar cycle is a sovereign tool. It always returns you to yourself; it never outsources your power, it simply shows you where you are, so you can make a more conscious choice about who you’re going to be.

Most Lunar Teachings

Most lunar cycle content teaches you the phases as concepts and leaves you there.

You learn that the new moon is for setting intentions and the full moon is for releasing. Waxing is for building, and waning is for letting go. True, but it’s just not enough.

What’s missing is the experience of the gates; the actual thresholds. The fact that each phase of the cycle is a dimensional shift, a portal that has its own energetic frequency, and its own quality of invitation, and its own way of activating the psyche.

What’s also missing is the body. Most of us have a lot of concepts in our heads. We know things. We are aware. But as anyone who has sat through a hundred new moon rituals without anything actually changing will tell you, knowing is not transforming. Awareness alone is not enough. We have to become embodied in what we know.

There must be a way of understanding where you are in the cycle at any given moment, what that moment is asking of you, and how to actually use it as a tool for the growth you’re here to do.

That’s what I want to give you here.

The Framework: Five Gates, One Cycle

What follows is a summary of the lunar cycle work I teach over a period of months inside my Psyche Mystery School. I teach the lunar cycle as five gates. Though technically there are eight, but five primary thresholds that mark the most significant dimensional shifts within the 29.5-day journey.

Think of them as initiatory passages. Each one is a gateway: a moment where you leave behind one kind of energy and enter another. Each gateway has its own name, its own frequency, and its own teaching.

The five gates are:

1. The New Moon Gate - Seed

2. The First Quarter Moon Gate - Crisis in Action

3. The Full Moon Gate - Celebration / Revelation

4. The Last Quarter Moon Gate - Crisis in Consciousness

5. The Dark Moon Gate - The Return: The Wise One Speaks Quietly

The entire arc moves like a breath - a long inhale from the new moon to the full moon, a long exhale from the full moon back to the dark moon. The waxing half is yang: building, external, active, creating. The waning half is yin: internal, integrating, metabolizing, returning home.

It is astrology. The lunar cycle is the microcosm of the entire aspect wheel, which is the microcosm of the zodiac itself.

• A new moon is a conjunction, two things seeding a new beginning together.

• The first quarter is a waxing square, the midpoint between seed and peak, the crisis in action.

• The full moon is an opposition, peak illumination, the mirror of the other.

• The last quarter is a waning square, the crisis in consciousness.

• The dark moon is the balsamic, the closing, the return.

This means that every planetary cycle in your birth chart can be understood through the lunar cycle framework. If Mars and Pluto are in a first quarter square in your chart, the energy between them is waxing, you are in the building, action-demanding half of a long initiatory cycle. If two planets are in a balsamic closing phase, there is an ancient, wisdom-laden quality to that relationship; it is completing, not beginning.

When you understand the gates of the moon, you understand the language of all cycles.

Gate One: The New Moon (Days 1–3)

Seed. Dark. Unconscious potential. The beginning that doesn’t yet know itself.

The new moon is when the moon and sun conjoin, the closest they get in their monthly orbit. The moon disappears from the night sky entirely. There is no light. It is, as I like to call it, the garden planted in the dark.

Most people think of the new moon as a launch point, as if you write your intentions and then the universe fires them like a cannon. But the new moon is more subtle than that, it’s the unconscious realms. It’s the seed buried in soil, before it has begun to stir. Things are being seeded right now that you may not understand, may not even be aware of, until they push through the surface days or weeks later.

This is the power and the mystery of the new moon: some of what is seeded is intentional, and some is not. Some seeds are planted by your conscious choices and desires and others are planted by life itself, by what arrives in the first days of a new cycle that you did not ask for but that is clearly a part of the chapter about to unfold.

In practice, this means two things.

First, this is the time to get intentional. What is the essence of what you are moving toward right now? What do you want to create, tend, or become aware of in this cycle? You plant seeds from the body, not the head. “And so it is” spoken from your solar plexus, your heart, your root, not recited from your mind like a shopping list.

Second, this is the time to notice what life is bringing in. Before you decide what you’re creating, pause long enough to see what has arrived. What changed in the last few days of the previous cycle? What conversation happened? What desires surfaced? What idea came through? The boundary between the dark moon and the new moon is thin, and what crosses that boundary is often the most important seed of all.

My personal practice: on new moon days, I journal the questions: What am I intentionally planting? And: What was the last cycle about? What is continuing forward and what am I leaving behind?

Gate Two: The First Quarter Moon (Days 7–10)

Crisis in action. Crossroads. The dragon on the path.

The first quarter moon is when the moon reaches 90 degrees from the sun, the waxing square. The moon is now exactly halfway, the midpoint, between the new moon and the full moon, and you can see it as a perfect half-circle of light in the sky.

In sacred geometry, the square is the shape of confrontation. Two forces meeting at 90 degrees create friction, tension, and the necessity of choice. This is why it is called, “the crisis in action” because life demands a response.

You will notice it. Whatever you planted at the new moon, the intention, project, relationship conversation, creative vision - something will confront it. An obstacle will appear. Like a river to cross on the hike; how will you do it? A resistance will surface, a crossroads will open up in front of you: continue on this path, or adjust, or surrender the intention entirely. The choice.

The first quarter moon sculpts your will.

It says: you planted something, are you committed to it? Because here comes the first test.

Whatever shows up as an obstacle at the first quarter moon is almost always exposing a nervous system pattern already in place. It’s the familiar pull back to what’s comfortable, what’s known, and what’s safe. “Can I really do this? Do I really have what it takes? Maybe I should just go back to how it was?”

I planted an intention at the new moon to do a morning practice before going to work, to break my habit of opening my computer the moment everyone left the house. By the first quarter moon, I had done it twice and made seventeen excuses. The obstacle wasn’t my kids being home for summer break. The obstacle was the compulsive familiarity of going straight to work. The nervous system default. The competing duel desires nature. The groove that has momentum.

The first quarter moon invited me to see that clearly. To make a conscious choice: am I going to stretch beyond the familiar, or am I going to make the excuses and let the pattern win again?

In practice: At the first quarter moon, sit with two questions. What confrontation or obstacle has appeared since the new moon? And: Is this truly an external problem, or is this my nervous system pulling me back to what is known?

Then make a conscious adjustment. This is the gate of adjustments, of pivots, of re-routing, so you don’t have to give up the intention. You have to choose how you’re going to meet what’s in the way.

Gate Three: The Full Moon (Days 14–16)

Celebration. Illumination. The revelation. The top of the mountain.

When the moon reaches its full opposition to the sun, Sun, Earth, Moon in a straight line, the entire face of the moon reflects the sun’s light back toward us. This is the full moon. Full exposure, full illumination.

Everything that has been growing in the dark/unknown of the cycle, what you seeded, everything life seeded, everything your psyche has been building below the surface of your awareness, comes into the light now.

I love calling this the Celebration Gate, because that’s what it actually is: a moment to look at what you’ve created, what has arrived, and what has risen to the surface, and honor it. Not just the successes, but all of it. The full moon illuminates the bloom and the shadow both, it shows you what grew in your garden and it shows you what you neglected.

The full moon is also the most socially activated moment of the cycle. People get pulled out into conversations, confrontations, revelations, and breakthroughs. If you’re paying attention to people in your life, you will notice that things tend to peak out around the full moon. Something that has been building between you and someone else rises to the surface. This is why hospitals and police stations are documented to get busier on full moons. What’s been in the unconscious gets pulled out into the open.

In practice: There are two things to do at the full moon.

First, celebrate. Even if the cycle didn’t go the way you planned and even if the garden is messier than you hoped. There is always something to honor, like awareness gained, strength discovered, a pattern you finally saw clearly, a relationship that deepened, an idea that arrived. When you celebrate, you anchor soul power. You give yourself the evidence that you are, in fact, a creator, and this compounds.

Second, witness without judgment. What has surfaced? What are you now more aware of than you were two weeks ago? What did life bring to the light that you didn’t go looking for? This is the information the rest of the cycle will ask you to work with.

I’ve tracked this for over twenty-five years. Every full moon brings something into awareness that wasn’t fully conscious before. It is one of the most reliable dynamics I have ever observed. And when you know it’s coming, you stop being frightened of the intensity and start being curious about what is about to be revealed.

Being an astrologer has cultivated grace equal to being a parent!

Gate Four: The Last Quarter Moon (Days 21–23)

Crisis in consciousness. The claiming of wisdom. What you now know that changes what comes next.

The last quarter moon is the waning square, 90 degrees from the sun on the other side. The moon is again a perfect half-circle of light, but now it rises later and shines in the early morning hours.

The last quarter moon is the mirror image of the first quarter, but they are different.

The first quarter says: what action will you take (Yang/waxing)? The last quarter says: what wisdom have you claimed (Yin/waning)?

This distinction matters enormously. At the first quarter moon, a lot is still unknown. The cycle is in its building phase; the full moon hasn’t happened yet; you’re working with seeds and sprouts, not with the harvest.

At the last quarter moon, you have three full weeks of cycle behind you. You have the full moon’s illumination. You have lived through this chapter and you know things now that you didn’t know before.

And wisdom that is known but not claimed doesn’t change anything. That is why the work of this phase is integration.

The last quarter moon asks: now that you know this, what are you going to do about it? Not what action will you take, that’s first quarter energy. But what belief, what pattern, what way of moving through life are you going to let be informed by what this cycle has taught you?

Some months ago, by the full moon of that cycle, I realized I had been building toward launching a new program but the full moon’s illumination showed me clearly that what actually mattered more to me was finishing my book. Not the program, the book. I hadn’t consciously known that at the start of the cycle, but the cycle revealed it. At the last quarter moon, the question became: knowing this, what will I carry into the next cycle? What will I do? Would I still overbooking myself, or would I take what I now knew and actually reorganize?

Wisdom isn’t passive, it’s a sovereign act. You have to claim it.

Gate Five: The Dark Moon (Days 26–29)

The wise one speaks quietly. Elder energy. The compost. The return.

The dark moon is the three days before the new moon, the balsamic phase. The moon is disappearing again and the light is almost gone. We are at the end of the cycle, and everything accumulated over the last month is now concentrating, metabolizing, composting down into nutrients for what comes next.

I associate the dark moon with the elder archetype. With Pisces energy. With the end of the zodiac wheel, where all the hard-won wisdom of the journey culminates into something quieter, wiser, and far less interested in proving anything. It’s the ultimate YIN phase.

The dark moon does not ask you to do, it asks you to be. Specifically, it asks you to be still long enough for the wisdom of the entire cycle to settle into your bones.

This is the part of the lunar cycle that our productivity culture most violently denies. We are not supposed to slow down and we are not supposed to stop productivity. We are supposed to be producing, building, performing, creating, all the time, without respite, lest you be lazy or doing nothing.

The dark moon asks for the deep rest that makes everything else possible.

In practice: During the dark moon, I try to get still. I spend more time on the porch. I rest. I reflect, I do a gentle accounting. What came through this cycle? What was I initiated into? What can I celebrate? What burdens am I ready to stop carrying?

And then I ask the question that has become one of my most sacred shamanic inquiries: How long are you going to keep carrying this forth?

Sometimes the answer is: I’m ready to put it down. And the dark moon receives it. You plant it in the compost, and it becomes nutrients for the next cycle. You don’t drag it forward, you let it feed the ground. Other times the answer is: not yet. And that’s okay too. The cycle will come around again.

If you have never tracked the lunar cycle consciously before, here is where to start.

Step one: Find out where you are. Look up the current phase of the moon right now, where it is in the 29.5-day arc. Are you in the waxing half (building toward the full moon) or the waning half (returning toward the dark moon)? How many days until the next gate?

Step two: Locate the cycle in your chart. Where is this new moon and full moon falling in your natal chart? What house axis is being activated? If the new moon was in Aries and Aries is in your 7th house, this cycle is asking you to seed something in your relationships and partnerships. The house tells you the arena of life where the cycle’s teachings will most concentrate.

Step three: Keep a simple lunar journal. At each of the five gates, write a few lines. What’s happening in your life? What feels confronted? What has surfaced? What do you know now that you didn’t know before? Over time, over cycles and cycles, you will begin to see patterns you could not have seen otherwise. You will see how your psyche moves through the month. You will see the themes that keep arising, the wounds that are asking to be addressed, and the gifts that are trying to emerge.

Step four: Honor each gate with presence. You don’t have to be doing a full ceremony at every phase of the moon. You don’t have to have a perfect altar or the right crystals or the correct ritual. You have to show up with your awareness. The technology works because you’re paying attention. Presence is the practice.

Why This Changes Everything

I have been asked: why does following the lunar cycle matter? Why should I pay attention to the moon?

Because the cycle is happening whether you pay attention or not. The seeds are being planted. The first quarter confrontations are arriving. The full moon is pulling your unconscious to the surface. The last quarter is presenting you with wisdom you may or may not claim. The dark moon is composting a cycle you may or may not have consciously lived.

Most people move through these gates in a kind of fog. The confrontation at the first quarter moon just feels like a bad week. The full moon revelation feels like drama. The dark moon exhaustion just feels like burnout. The patterns repeat. The same seeds get planted. The same obstacles arise. The same wisdom goes unclaimed. And then the cycle starts again.

When you track the lunar cycle consciously, you become a participant rather than a passenger. You start to recognize what season you are in. You start to meet the confrontation at the first quarter with curiosity instead of resistance. You start to celebrate at the full moon instead of just lurching forward to the next thing. You start to actually claim the wisdom at the last quarter instead of letting it dissipate. You start to rest at the dark moon instead of pushing through the end of a cycle on fumes.

And over time your life becomes trackable. You start to see how it moves and you start to collapse time, because you’re actually participating. You start to see the throughlines and the themes that are circling back, the seeds that need more time, and the chapters that are finally completing. You start to see your life for the love story that it is.

I have always related to life on a deeply shamanic level. We are all connected to everything, threads of the same source from which we originate.

Life, to me, IS the rite of passage itself. Through it, the soul meets what it has come here to encounter: tasks, obstacles, opportunities, and challenges that initiate us along the path of self-realization and individuation.

And within this unfolding, the lunar cycle is a guide, like the street signs and signal lights along the way illuminating where we are, and orienting us toward what comes next.

Astrology is a language. The lunar cycle is the most accessible, most intimate, most daily sentence of that language. And when you learn to speak it as a lived, embodied experience, you enter a different relationship with your own life.

Saturn at the Last Quarter

The Last Quarter Moon is the phase of the honest accounting. What came through, what didn’t, and what are you going to stop pretending you don’t know? “We live, and we learn.” - This is the last quarter moon mantra.

Saturn entered Aries in February 2026, opening a new 29-year cycle. The last time it moved through Aries was 1996 to 1999. That era did not ask politely. The dot-com boom rewired the collective mind so fast that half the world didn’t know what hit them. Google founding - two people in a garage who refused to be told their idea wasn't worth a million dollars and built something worth a trillion instead. The interior, persistent, refuses-to-disappear quality of Saturn in Aries courage in its most literal form.

Ellen came out on primetime television, and the world had loud opinions about it, and she did it anyway. In July 1997, scientists published DNA analysis findings from a Neanderthal skeleton, supporting the "out of Africa" theory of human evolution and placing an "African Eve" at 100,000 to 200,000 years ago. Science in this era was literally rewriting the story of who we are and where we came from. Saturn in Aries asking the oldest “I am” question at the level of the genome.

1998 marked the 150th anniversary of the women's rights movement in the United States, with ongoing debates surfacing about reproductive rights, women in military combat roles, women in religious leadership, the full spectrum of who gets authority over bodies, institutions, and sacred spaces.

These were Saturn in Aries movements pressing the collective until it shifted who actually gets authority, who gets to take up space, and what courage looks like when it is interior, persistent, and simply refuses to disappear.

The Last Quarter Moon in Aries asks for honesty that is direct, unadorned, almost uncomfortably clear. This worked, this didn’t, full stop. The Sun squaring Saturn from Cancer adds the emotional reckoning underneath: the tension between what we need on the inside and what is required on the outside is not comfortable, and it is exactly where growth lives.

Mercury retrograde in Cancer asks: can you be honest without being harsh? Can the frequency of love that you carry do the heavy lifting? The one who accounts from genuine self-love carries the spiral forward with real intelligence. The one who accounts from self-contempt or attack just builds a more elaborate version of the same cage.

Venus and the South Node

Venus conjuncts the South Node at 0° Virgo on July 10th: the heart meeting what it has given itself to before, sometimes in beauty, sometimes at too high a cost.

The Virgo shadow can look a lot like making yourself smaller, so no one else feels the size of you or overworking and under-appreciating your own (or someone else’s) value.

This conjunction begins to close the entire 18-month South Node Virgo arc. A lot is moving beneath the surface, stirring in the unseen realms.

The Dark Moon is a room. Sit in it and listen.

The Dark Moon Transmission

On July 12th, Mercury meets the Sun exactly at 20° Cancer. Cazimi. The messenger in the heart of the Sun, receiving a direct transmission from the darkest hour of the lunar cycle.

Mercury has been retrograde in Cancer since June 29th, moving back through memory, ancestry, need, and bond. Now clarity begins to arrive with what the body has known but couldn’t yet articulate.

It’s not about forcing it into language. Pay attention to what comes: images, feelings, a sentence in the shower, an idea that lingers. This is the medicine for your next cycle.

Your Chart

Where does 15° Aries fall? Saturn’s honest accounting is arriving there. Where does 0° Virgo fall? This is where Venus is working her magic.

What has this cycle genuinely built? What pattern will not survive another cycle if I carry it forward unreconstructed? What is my heart finally ready to lay down?

Honor what you built. Honor what you released. Honor who you became. The Cancer New Moon arrives July 14th. The next seed is waiting.

True astrology is a language, a precise, living system that reveals the deeper architecture of the soul, the cycles of time, and the evolution of consciousness.

I say that not as an attack on anyone’s path or anyone’s practice, but because it matters for people who are genuinely seeking. People who sense that there is more and who have felt the pull of the stars and then found themselves standing in front of a content wall full of sun-sign compatibility posts and “what this week’s Mercury retrograde means for your sign” and felt something missing.

This isn’t it. But what is it?

I want to answer that question.

What the astrology market is selling

The astrology market is enormous right now. Apps like Co-Star and The Pattern have millions of users. Astrology TikTok and Instagram are flooded with daily content. And almost all of it is operating at the same level: sun signs, compatibility charts, transit forecasts, and personality types.

It’s astrology as a language for describing moods and tendencies and astrology as a way to feel seen in a paragraph that was also written for 600 million other people born in your sun sign.

It does have genuine value at this level because it gets people curious and it opens a door.

But it’s not depth, and the people who are truly seeking, the ones who are asking the real questions, can feel the difference.

What astrology actually is

Astrology, at its root, is one of the most ancient and sophisticated systems of soul-level meaning-making that human civilization has ever produced.

At its deepest level, astrology is a precise, timed, entirely individualized map of your soul’s journey through this lifetime.

Your birth chart is a blueprint, encoded at the exact moment you took your first breath; it’s a miracle! And it contains:

• Your soul’s core intention for this incarnation, the specific purpose this lifetime is organized around.

• The evolutionary themes you came here to work through, in this life and across the continuum of lives.

• The gifts and mastery you brought in, the capacities already developed, already available.

• The patterns and attachments you are here to evolve beyond, the places where the soul is both powerful and potentially stuck

• The precise years in which each major rite of passage, threshold, and turning point is built into your soul’s timeline.

That last point is what I focus a great deal on. There are specific years mapped in your chart, calculable from your birth data, when the cosmos is designed to ask a particular question of your soul. When a particular layer of your growth is scheduled to arrive and when you are being initiated into the next chapter of your becoming. We all know these as life transitions or plot twists in the direction of your life.

It’s not prediction, or fortune telling, or fate in the fatalistic sense. That’s the scapegoat Astrology got burdened with.

What it is is soul timing, the architecture of your own evolutionary journey, written in the language of the cosmos, waiting to be read.

The lineage I come from

The astrology I teach is Evolutionary Astrology. It is rooted in the methodology of Jeffrey Wolf Green, one of the most profound astrological minds of the modern era, and I bring to it over two decades of practice, a shamanic worldview, and a deep integration of somatic and nervous system awareness.

Evolutionary Astrology asks fundamentally different questions than most astrological systems. It does not ask: What will happen to you?

It asks: Why are you here? What is your soul’s deepest intention in this lifetime? What have you come here to realize, to evolve, to grow beyond? And: When are the major rites of passage and initiations, in this particular soul’s journey?

This is the difference between a horoscope and a soul story.

Who this is for

It is not for everyone. It is specifically for people who take their soul seriously. People who believe, or sense, even if they cannot yet fully articulate it, that life is not random. That their experiences have meaning, that they are here for a reason, and that the discomfort and the beauty and the loss and the longing are all part of something larger, something purposeful, something that can be understood and worked with consciously.

There’s a restlessness in the air. Something big is trying to crack through from the depths of your own unconscious.

This is the stirring of Mars conjunct Uranus at the first degree of Gemini arriving in your life this weekend. Remember, transits aren’t just “out there” in the sky. They’re inner confrontations. Initiations moving through your body, your psyche, and your life.

Perfectly timed to awaken you.

And, this one is not a one-time event. This is the first strike of a lightning bolt that will return, again and again, over the next seven years as Uranus moves through Gemini. Think of it as the opening note of a long symphony with intervals intensifying every two years in three parts.

Mars is the lower octave of Pluto, the force that actualizes what lives in your unconscious soul desires and drags it into the light of conscious action. Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury, not just new information, but revelation. A revolution in the mind. When these two meet at the first degree of the most mercurial sign in the zodiac, the message is unmistakable: the way you think, speak, move, and connect is being fundamentally rewired.

The question is not whether it happens; the question is whether you meet it as the Hero/ine, awake, responsive, and choosing, or find yourself months from now wondering what happened.

The Full Moon arrives on June 29th at 8° Capricorn.

Astronomically, this is the moment of exact opposition: the Sun at 8° Cancer, the Moon at 8° Capricorn, the Earth sitting directly between them. The Moon receives the Sun’s light in its fullness.

Two weeks ago, in the New Moon phase, the psyche incubated and birthed something from out of the unconscious. Just like nature, we wax, and we wane, from the unconscious realms to conscious, from a lack of awareness to being more aware of what is alive around and within.

A new seed planted, sprouted, and is now blooming.

What of the past two weeks is now coming more clear? What has your garden grown? Can you recognize a fruition occurring, a revelation of sorts?

The end of June resets the stage for the rest of 2026:

• Mars enters Gemini on this same day and immediately squares the Nodes of the Moon, joining Uranus who has been holding that square since June 12th.

• Mercury stations retrograde in Cancer, 3 degrees from Jupiter.

• And Jupiter crosses into Leo, beginning a new 12-month arc of expansion, creative sovereignty, and the reclamation of the self who was always meant to take up space.

These are one of the most potent astrological signatures of 2026. Be intentional.

The Full Moon in Capricorn

The Full Moon represents arriving at the top of the mountain.

Capricorn does not deal in performance; it deals in material reality. Opposite Cancer, this is the axis of the parent; the inner and outer authority, the support systems, the needs and obligations, the family bonds and burdens.

Are you building the outer life from the truth of the inner one? How is your support quotient?

Mars Conjunct Uranus Square the Nodes

Now we go deeper into a cycle designed to stir things up.

Mars enters Gemini on June 29th and immediately squares the Nodes, joining Uranus, who has been building this square since June 12th.

The exact Mars-Uranus conjunction perfects on July 4th at 3° Gemini. The last time Mars was conjunct Uranus in Gemini was August 1947. This is not a transit we have seen in our lifetimes.

And this is only the first time, because Mars moves on a two-year cycle, and Uranus will remain in Gemini for seven years; this conjunction will recur every two years through 2032. June 29th, 2026 is the opening strike of a seven-year arc. We are in the first initiation of something that will keep returning, each pass building on the last.

Mars is the lower octave of Pluto. It’s the mechanism that takes what the unconscious realms of the soul hold and actualizes it into conscious reality. Simply said, Mars, by its instinctual responses, shows us what we desire deep down. The - I want it.

Uranus is the awakener, the revolutionary. It does not negotiate with what is no longer true; it simply reveals it, often through the shock of a recognition that arrives before the body has prepared.

When Mars and Uranus conjoin, the will meets the awakening. The desire for liberation meets the disruptive force that makes liberation possible.

And both are squaring the Nodes. This is a “break the chains” moment. Freedom is the impulse.

When a planet squares the Nodes, the soul arrives at the precise intersection between its past and its future and is asked to choose. This configuration asks that of us twice: Uranus holding the square since June 12th, Mars arriving to amplify it now, building to the exact conjunction on July 4th.

Share Planet Medicine

This will show up as something unexpected, something that clarifies. A conversation that changes everything, a realization that reorganizes years of experience into coherent meaning, a moment of “I cannot go back to seeing it the way I saw it before.”

Jeff Wolf Green taught that when the same impulse returns again and again without our summoning it, it is the soul speaking. Pay attention this week to what has been trying to get through.

Mercury Retrograde | Jupiter in Leo

Mercury retrograde in Cancer is the command to integrate the emotional intelligence.

Although the pace of life seems to be speeding up, there’s no need to rush to speak what surfaces under this Full Moon. It’s wise to let it move through the body first and feel your way toward what you now know before you move into action.

Mercury will be retrograde in Cancer for three weeks. Take time with your feelings, needs, and your own rhythm.

Jupiter’s ingress into Leo is a whole twelve-month arc beginning. The creative self, the sovereign heart, the one who came here with something specific to express and has perhaps been waiting for permission that was never going to come from outside. The permission was always internal, and Jupiter is activating that impulse now.

Where does 8° Capricorn fall in your chart? That is where the Full Moon is illuminating, where the harvest is visible.

Where does 0° to 3° Gemini fall? That is where the Mars-Uranus lightning is striking, where the will meets the revolutionary impulse, and the karmic crossroads asks you to choose.

The Ritual Inquiry

What has this cycle grown, including what I was not expecting to grow?

What is the Full Moon in Capricorn asking me to see clearly about what is real and what is a story I have been holding?

What lightning has arrived in the last two weeks? The sudden insight, the conversation, the recognition that could not be unseen?

What idea or impulse has been returning to me without my summoning it?

What would it mean to choose the North Star direction now, with the force of Mars and Uranus behind me? What do I need to leave behind to go forth?

The Most Immediately Revealing Thing in Any Chart

If you want to understand a person quickly, before you’ve gone deep into houses, before you’ve run the Pluto formula, before you’ve tracked their transits, look at one thing first.

Are there planets on the angles?

The four angles of a chart- the Ascendant (rising), the IC (4th house cusp), the Descendant (7th house cusp), and the Midheaven (10th house cusp) are not just structural points. They are the skeleton of the being. They are the most fundamental, most visible, and most felt signatures in the entire chart.

And when a planet sits on one of these angles, that planet is not just present in the chart. It is embodied in the person’s face, their home, their relationships, their public presence. It is the first thing you feel when you encounter them.

Read Angles as Structural Points Instead of Living Signatures

Most people learn about the Ascendant as the “rising sign” - the sign of the mask you wear, the first impression, the outer persona- and the Midheaven as the career indicator, and they leave it there.

But this misses the living, breathing reality of what an angle actually is.

An angle is where the person meets the world. It’s the threshold between the interior of the person and the exterior of their life, and a planet placed on an angle isn’t just influencing that threshold; it IS the threshold. It shows up in person.

Here’s the simplest and most useful way I know to feel into this:

When a planet is on an angle, imagine that planet just walked into the room.

That’s the person, that’s what you encounter when you meet them.

How to Read Planets on the Four Angles

The Ascendant: How They Arrive

A planet on the Ascendant is how this person enters any space. It is their energetic signature before they’ve said a word, their vibe and what precedes them.

• Moon on the Ascendant: Oh, Moon just showed up. It’s moody. There’s an emotional, nurturing, present quality that you feel immediately, a softness, a receptivity.

• Sun on the Ascendant: Solar energy arrived. Warmth, vitality, confidence; this person fills the room in a radiant way.

• Uranus on the Ascendant: Uranus just walked in. Electric. Unpredictable. Different. You know immediately that this person is not standard.

The IC: How They Are in Their Innermost World

The IC is the bottom of the chart, the most private, most foundational point. A planet on the IC describes how this person is in their home, their family, and their innermost sanctuary.

I have my Sun on my IC. When you come into my house, you can feel it’s my house. I show up and I’m like, What can I feed you? I’ll sit and talk for hours. I have a handle on every room, every person, everything, it’s very Sun (in Virgo) energy, but in my home. I don’t enter the world with that same energy at all. It lives in the private, not the public.

The Descendant: How They Are in Deep Partnership

A planet on the Descendant describes what this person calls in through relationship and what shows up in their significant partnerships, and what they are learning to integrate through the other. Essentially, what and who they are attracted to for their own evolution and growth.

The Midheaven: How They Show Up in the World and Work

The Midheaven is the public face, the career, the influence I bring to the world. A planet here is what people encounter when this person steps into their professional or public life.

The Case Studies: Three Angles, Three Signatures

J: Uranus on the Ascendant

M described her sister-in-law J before we even pulled the chart: “She’s very Uranian. Uranus on the Ascendant, she’s a Sun in Aquarius. She’s joyful and really engaging and really magnetic.”

And that’s it exactly. Uranus on the Ascendant means Uranus just arrived. Every time J walks into a room, there is a charge, something electric, something different, something that doesn’t fit a mold. She’s engaging in the way that only the truly unpredictable can be engaging; you never quite know what’s coming next, and somehow that makes you want to lean in.

It’s not something she does; it’s what she is at the threshold between herself and the world.

E: Pluto Retrograde on the Midheaven

E’s Pluto is retrograde and sitting directly on the Midheaven, her public face, her role in the world, and her career signature.

“Pluto on the Midheaven is a lot. It’s like, people - everybody wants a piece of me. Everybody knows I’ve got the power.”

When E steps into the world, into a professional context, into any public situation, people feel the power. There is a weight to her presence. A gravity. Something that communicates: this person carries power. And they’re right, she does.

Because Pluto is retrograde, this is deeply internalized: “someone is having a more deeply internal reflection of Pluto, of their evolution, of their growth, of their need to grow, of their need to change, of their need to access their power and meet with their powerlessness.” The outer world sees the gravity, and the inner world is doing the evolutionary work constantly.

And because Pluto is her only retrograde, that’s significant. The whole internalized evolutionary drive is concentrated in this one point.

“On the other side of that, it could be a bit shocking for some people, because it is Pluto in Scorpio, for some people, she might be too much.”

This is the Pluto-on-Midheaven reality. Not everyone can handle that level of gravitational field. And that’s not E’s problem to solve; that’s Pluto doing what Pluto does.

Why Angles Repeat the Chart’s Themes

Here’s a deeper layer. The angles don’t operate in isolation; they participate in the larger story the chart is already telling.

“The chart will repeat themes over and over.”

E’s Grand Cross, all that Capricorn, Cancer, Aries, Libra tension, and Pluto on the Midheaven. These things speak to each other. Having a grand cross already implies enormous creative tension, enormous drive, enormous complexity. And Pluto on the Midheaven confirms: she knows she needs to grow. All of this tension can rub her and other people the wrong way at times. And she’s learning to meet with all these parts of herself so that she can come to terms with them, access her power, and stop giving it away.

The angles amplify what the rest of the chart is already saying. They make it visible, and they make it felt. They bring it from the interior into the lived experience.

Actionable Takeaway

Open your chart and look at the four angles.

1. Ascendant: Is there a planet within 5–8 degrees of your rising sign? What planet? Imagine it just walked into the room. That’s how you arrive.

2. IC: Is there a planet near the very bottom of your chart? That’s who you are in your most private, innermost world.

3. Descendant: Is there a planet near your 7th house cusp? That’s what’s coming toward you through partnership. And also what you long for in relationship.

4. Midheaven: Is there a planet near the very top of your chart? That’s what the world encounters when you step into your public role.

For each planet you find: what does it feel like to imagine that planet showing up in that domain of your life? Not as an influence, but as the thing itself, arriving.

This same method can be applied to transiting planets. As the planet arrives at the angle, it will be the influence entering the room for its specific period of time before moving on.

That time of year when the Sun crosses my Ascendant and I lean into the inquiry: Who am I, now? After another year’s journey, another season of weeding and tilling and blooming in the garden that is my life. The Sun in my first house asks: How well am I living the instincts I was born with to nurture, protect, and bond?

The Sun crossing into Cancer is asking you something too. Find Cancer in your chart, and you will find the question.

This Week’s Sky Story

The First Quarter Moon is always the gate where the world pushes back. Where the weight of the earth above the green shoot pressing through is felt.

What you do in the next three days shapes what gets illuminated at the Full Moon. The square between the Moon and the Sun is the architecture of transformation, but you may miss its deliberate gift if you’re not paying attention.

The first quarter is the crisis in action phase; the decisive moment, the point of discrimination. Something in you must choose, something in you must move. The seed cannot stay seed forever.

Solstice

On the solstice, the Sun stands still. It’s measurable: for several days around June 21st, the rate of change in where the Sun rises and sets along the horizon slows to almost nothing. The length of the day barely shifts. Whether you are in the longest light of a northern summer or the longest dark of a southern winter, the Sun pauses at the edge of its journey before beginning its slow return in the opposite direction.

Shamanic traditions across the world, with no contact with one another, arrived at the same understanding of this moment. The Celts, the Norse, the ancient Egyptians, the Andean traditions: all of them marked this threshold as a place where the veil between the seen and unseen worlds grows thin.

Ordinary reality runs on the rhythm of movement and change. The Sun rising and setting, the seasons turning, the river flowing: this is the pulse of the visible world. But when something that is always moving stops, even briefly, it steps outside the rhythm of the ordinary flow, and it enters the between-space, and it becomes a crack in time.

We are one week in. Pay attention to what arrives on your path.

The seed was placed in the dark at the New Moon. You declared something, and now that declaration is meeting the deep subconscious patterning that governs roughly 95% of our thoughts, behaviors, and choices without our awareness.

Most of what runs us is not chosen; it is inherited, conditioned, grooved into the nervous system over years of lived experience. The New Moon plants the intention in the conscious realm. The First Quarter is when the unconscious arrives to negotiate.

Neptune’s square to the Sun adds a layer of dissolution. The edges of what you thought was clear may soften, plans may blur, identity may feel less solid than it did yesterday. Neptune dissolves what was never as solid as we believed.

The doubt surfaces, the old pattern makes its argument, the familiar groove reasserts itself at precisely the moment the new direction begins to feel real enough to threaten it. This is the crossroads of the First Quarter Moon.

This juncture asks you for one small, inconvenient act of loyalty to the seed you planted. It asks you to hold your direction when it costs something to hold it.

The Hero/ine’s initiation is measured by what s/he refuses to collapse back into.

Black Moon Lilith was present at the New Moon seeding. She will not let you forget what you uncovered.

The Sun’s move into Cancer on this same day adds an emotional current beneath everything. Cancer is the realm of what we truly need that is genuinely required for sustenance, beyond obligation.

The solstice asks: what are you willing to nurture? The first quarter asks: are you willing to take action in that direction even when it disrupts the surface of things?

And for those who felt the heat of the Venus-Pluto opposition this past week, the confrontation with power, desire, and what must die to be reborn, you are now on the other side of that peak. What it surfaced is yours to bring forward. The crossroads asks you to act from what you now know.

Why This Matters

Without the map of the cycle, the First Quarter confrontation looks like: something is wrong, the intention is not working, I should go back to what I know. With the map, it looks like: the seed is alive, that the threshold guardian has arrived. We can experience that this is initiation, not a derailment.

Astrology made me more honest about what was actually happening beneath the story I was telling myself. The arguments that surface out of nowhere, the tension that arrives in your body right when you are on the cusp of something big, the fear that shows up as a reason to stop: astrology gives it all context. Life events stop getting brushed off with “shit happens.” You start to understand that transits happen, and that orientation makes a difference.

You do not have to push harder, you simply have to know where you are in the cycle, and hold the direction one more day.

Your Chart

Where does 1° Libra fall in your chart? That house is where the crossroads is appearing right now, where the confrontation is asking for your conscious participation.

The crossroads is a sign that your seed is growing.

The Ritual Inquiry

Arrive in the body first. Feet on the floor. Three deep exhales.

The first quarter gate is not a time for new plans. It is a time for aligned action, one step, taken from your center.

Libra asks: what do I actually want, beneath the wanting-to-please? Cancer asks: what truly nourishes me, beneath the obligation? Neptune asks: what is the deeper truth here, beneath the story I have been telling?

What has arrived on my path since the New Moon that is asking me to choose a direction?

Where is the familiar pattern making its loudest argument right now, and what does it mean that it has arrived precisely here?

What is one small, inconvenient, loyal act I can take in the direction of what I planted?

What would it mean to hold my new direction here, when it costs something?

The Full Moon is one week away. What you do at this crossroads directly shapes what gets illuminated there. Action, adjustment, alignment. You are beginning to shape the unseen into the seen.

The Sky Right Now

The New Moon arrives on June 14th at 23° Gemini. Here we begin again.

Black Moon Lilith sits directly opposite this lunation, pulling up from the depths what has been silenced, exiled, or refused permission to exist. Where will it go as it surfaces, these buried parts? Will you look at it, or look away?

This is a seeding that asks you to be brave and plant what you have been too afraid to claim.

Venus enters Leo at this same threshold and immediately locks into an opposition with Pluto that will hold through the first full week of this cycle. Venus planted seeds with Pluto in January at the conjunction point, so now, at the opposition, there is something to be released and something to be revealed that is connected to what was incubating back then. What has the past five months brought forth in your life?

Pluto lords over the Underworld, and as it is the way, something always must die to be reborn. And as Innana taught: what must be left behind, what must be sacrificed in order to claim your truth? This week, with heart on our sleeve, we look in the eyes of Pluto.

Throughout this month, the Moon’s Nodes remain in their ongoing square to Uranus, the great disruptor, the awakener, the innovator. Pay attention to your own nudges and a’ha moments; they’re in-coming. And when the Nodes are highlighted, so are our karmic contracts; the deeper confrontations of consequence that we cannot and shall not outrun. Yet, we can overcome, and we will transcend.

We are in a time of revelation. When Uranus is active, we remember things from the akashic record of the ancient soul. And we are reminded of our unique role in the big picture, however vast it may be.

I don’t share any of this to tell you what’s going on out there. I share it to remind you to notice where you are in relationship to the cycles and to participate as the sovereign soul that you are. We are of the cosmos, not separate from the dance.

The New Moon Threshold

The sky has gone dark.

The New Moon is the beginning and that which contains the ending therein. Astronomically, it is when the Sun and the Moon join together in the same sign and merge, a marriage of Sun and Moon, a union of solar and lunar forces, a seeding of pure potent power. This moment is yours to participate in.

It’s the birth phase, where there is still darkness and where the seed of consciousness, inspiration, and ideas incubate. Creative energy is building but not yet at the fullness of the form it will become. Stay present.

You cannot see the Moon tonight, and yet something in you knows it is here.

The soil is dark, quiet, and receptive, but beneath the earth a seed is being placed with intention. It’s a moment of devotion to potential. The seed doesn’t need certainty, but it does need a place to belong.

The New Moon is a period where we are led to tap into the dark of our unconscious, like a reservoir of potential eager for manifestation. Ideas, inspirations, and initiations come up to the surface and into the light. It is here, as the light begins to increase, that we become aware. Over time, that which was incubating in the unconscious becomes conscious.

Pay attention this week to what arises in you as the cycle begins. You may notice an unusual stirring. Something beneath the surface of your awareness that isn’t yet ready to be spoken, but is present, alive, and there to be tended.

The Gemini sky is asking you to listen across two frequencies at once: the voice that speaks from logic and the voice that speaks from the soul. Black Moon Lilith opposite this lunation means that what you plant must be honest. She will not let a polite intention survive this soil; she asks for the real one. The one you have been editing, the one you have been talking yourself out of, the one that feels too large, too wild, or too revealing. That one.

Your Chart

What house of your zodiac wheel is this New Moon activating?

This is the area of your psyche, your life, your lived experience that is being seeded right now. This is where the dark is most fertile for you personally, where the unconscious is most receptive, where an intention planted here will find the richest soil.

For me it’s in my 12th House. So, that tells me I’m being called to surrender and let go of what is complete, and open to the vastness of infinite potential. That makes a lot of sense since I’m currently in the process of closing a chapter in my business and shutting down a community space on Mighty Network and moving it onto Substack. Next month, as the New Moon lands in the following house, the first house of new beginnings, I will surely be feeling that “fresh start” energy.

As the beginning contains the end, the New Moon follows the Dark Moon phase and carries its depth into the light. All that we have experienced in the previous cycle is food in the soil for the new seed.

What you are bringing into this next cycle matters. What you are composting matters. The soil you plant the garden of your life in is not neutral! It’s alive with everything the last cycle produced and all your efforts given.

The Heroine’s Threshold

Every lunar cycle is an initiatory spiral through the psyche. Rather than approaching the Moon as something external, we use the phases as a mirror to observe our own consciousness unfolding.

The New Moon is the first gate of the Hero/ine’s Journey: The Seeding.

This is the particular courage the Gemini New Moon demands: the willingness to speak a truth that is not yet fully lived.

The New Moon practice is about dropping the intention below the neck and embodying the frequency of the future self before there is any evidence that she exists. Not what she wants to have, but who she is choosing to be. This is where the new identity code enters the subconscious garden. The neural alchemy work here is most receptive. What is declared at the New Moon goes deep. It reaches beneath the 95% unconscious.

I have done this work for a long time, and I can tell you at times it has taken months and longer to really genuinely feel in my body the thing that I have so deeply been wanting to experience in my lived identity. When we are truly there and ready after much dedicated devotion, we arrive. And somehow it always feels like a miracle!

The Ritual Inquiry

Arrive in the body first. Feet on the floor. Three deep exhales. Feel where you are.

Then ask yourself, from below the neck, not from the thinking mind, but from the body that already knows:

What am I consciously choosing to seed in this cycle?

What identity am I declaring before I have evidence of it?

Can I feel her, the woman I am becoming, in my body right now?

What have I been too afraid to name, that Lilith is asking me to claim anyway?

Write it down. Speak it aloud. Your cosmic soul hears what is declared in the dark.

And wholeheartedly believe in it. That is the work, to fully own your right to your desires. No matter what life looks like now, you stay focused on the infinite possibilities. You cast the spells of your dreams. You do not get caught in the nets of anyone else’s misaligned declarations.

My hope with these retrospective pieces is that in our busy lives, where we don’t always have the time and space to pause and recognize where we are and what just happened, I’m dedicated to bringing a sense of orientation; a cosmic orientation. Because when we understand the medicine of what we’ve been living, we can actually integrate it, metabolize it, and land on the other side of it with something real.

So let’s look back at May.

The Medicine of May

If you’ve been tracking the cycles with me, you already know that this was a month of change.

May was a rite of passage of a different kind than April. April was the threshold crossing, closing the great Pisces disolving, arriving new into Aries. May took that arrival and asked: Now what will you do with it?

Mars Conjunct Chiron: The Wound Completing

Chiron has been in Aries for seven years. Seven years of the wounded healer moving through the sign of the personal self, the masculine, the independent one. Seven years of the collective confronting the wound of the primal-masculine in the deeper archetypal sense. The broken relationship with power, desire and agency. The complicated inheritance of drive and will. What it means to want something, to reach for it, and to believe you are allowed.

And collectively, we have seen it. The rise of the manosphere and the extreme and painful spotlight on the fact that women and children have not been safe, not for a very long time. What Chiron in Aries has been doing, in part, is bringing what was always true into consciousness so that it can finally be seen. It makes visible what has been living in the dark, unwitnessed, and unaddressed. Because you cannot heal what you cannot see and you cannot fix what you refuse to look at.

From March through May, Venus, Mercury, the Sun, and finally Mars all made contact with Chiron in sequence. One by one, the faster-moving planets passed through this final activation window. A once every year or two configuration.

Mars conjuncted Chiron around May 14-16 and this was an inner-completion of the/your seven-year story.

Chiron is about to dip into Taurus, a brief ingress, a taste, then retrograde back into Aries for its final chapter. But May was a big event. The last time Mars moves through this particular door for a very long time.

Aries asks: Who am I? What do I want?

Taurus answers: Yes. That. Now come inside and be with it.

The Taurus New Moon on May 16th was an invitation to ritualize exactly that quality, to slow down, come into the sanctuary space, plant new intentions in the body and in the earth. Because what was coming after it was going to move fast. The Gemini activation, the Uranus conjunctions, the acceleration of the mind and all of it on the horizon. Have you felt the speed pick up?

Taurus was the breath before the leap.

May gave us one of the most extraordinary Mercury arcs I’ve tracked in a long time.

Mercury square Pluto (May 5–6): Into the underworld. The mind meets the deep. What did you now know that you’d been moving too fast to let yourself know before? Mercury gathered it and carried it forward.

Mercury conjunct the Sun (May 14th): The illumination. What was gathered in the depths brought into full daylight. Something became clear that you couldn’t quite articulate before.

Mercury conjunct Uranus in Gemini (May 17–21): The awakening. Mercury is the lower octave of Uranus, the everyday mind meeting the higher mind, for the first time in Gemini in our lifetime. That aha quality in those days was real, the veil lifting, the knowing that arrived through transmission.

Into the underworld. Into the light. Into the awakening. There is always a logic to the arc. Trust it.

The Triple Square: Three Rivers to Cross

May carried a triple square lineup, Mercury square Pluto, Mars square Jupiter, Mars square Pluto; three of the most potent squares all clustering in the same month.

A square is a river to cross with no bridge; an invitation to problem-solve at the level the adventure now requires.

Mercury square Pluto was the most interior, the mind being pressed to look at what it had been moving too fast to see. What deeply rooted truth was surfacing? That was the first river.

Mars square Jupiter brought the frustrated hunger. The desire rubbing up against the distance between where you are and where you want to be. I want this. And I don’t have it. And I don’t know how. That feeling in the body, that was the square doing its work. And because this was a last quarter square, it was asking the last quarter question: What old approach to getting what you want needs to be released before the next cycle begins? Mars and Jupiter conjunct in November: What you clear between now and then is what you arrive with at that new beginning.

Mars square Pluto (May 26th) mark this one. This was the power and powerlessness crossroads. For some: Yes. I’m doing this. The force is available. Take it to the next level. For others: This is hard. How does this even happen? What do I need? Both were the square bringing you to the crossroads where you have to meet the truth of where you actually are in your power, rather than where you wish you were.

Mars conjuncted Pluto in the last week of January, which was the seeding. May 26th was the first quarter square, the garden check-in. Four months in, the gardener walks the rows honestly: What has taken root? What needs water? What needs pruning? What were you perhaps telling yourself was growing when something else was true?

The obstacles were the oracle. They always are.

May in the Longer Arc

May was a pivotal point in a nine-month arc running all the way through to November and into the spring of 2027.

The seeds planted in January, tended through February, March, April, assessed and adjusted through May, they are building toward something. The epic Mars-Jupiter conjunction in November and the retrograde extension through winter of both those planets are going to be the continued deepening of what was set in motion in those early months of this year.

The crossroads of May was not asking you to stop, it was asking you to assess, adjust, and recommit, so that what you carry forward into the second half of this year is real, rooted, and is worth building all the way through.

May was asking you to assess honestly and choose consciously.

Look clearly at where you are and feel honestly what is growing and what isn’t. Choose your direction from the clarity of what you actually know now.

The compound effect is not visible in real time. It never is.

And then one day, there’s a long-awaited pineapple.

The last quarter moon arrives. We are in the final week of the cycle.

The last quarter moon is the gateway of discernment and completion. Now that everything has come through, the seeds planted, the crossroads navigated, the truth illuminated at the full moon, then the question becomes: What am I going to carry forward? What am I going to release?

This is the time to harvest the wisdom of the cycle. What did you realize? What confrontations moved through you? What did you wake up to? What actions did you take, and what did they teach you? The cycle has lived itself through you and now you get to consciously distill it.

And then arriving on June 9th: Venus conjuncts Jupiter at 25 degrees of Cancer.

Remember how we began this cycle with Venus moving into Cancer around May 19th at the opening of week one. She has been traveling through Cancer all month, and now at the end of the cycle, she arrives to greet Jupiter. Jupiter and Venus like to create joy, especially in Cancer, the kind that is cozy and delicious.

Venus is a sense of self, love, personal desire, what we value, what we want for ourselves, and the people we love. Jupiter is the great expander and the seeker of truth, the vision toward abundance, seeking, adventure. And Cancer is deeply personal. This is what I need. This is what I feel to feel safe and comfortable and secure and happy.

Now, as with all archetypes, there is a spectrum, a pendulum that swings. Venus-Jupiter can tip into excess, excessive selfishness, indulgence, over-giving, or over-taking. So it’s about witnessing where you are in the energetic frequency of these signatures as you experience them. But at its best? This is a beautiful closing note to the cycle, a moment to create sweetness, gratitude, of arriving somewhere that feels good.

Mark June 9th and let yourself receive what it is offering.

And then the cycle moves toward the dark moon, those final days before June 13th, when the next new moon opens. The dark moon is the ultimate yin, the most feminine quality of the entire month. It’s the compost phase, where we’re called to return to the absolute darkness and stillness and allow experience to metabolize. To surrender into all that is and all that was, so that we can get the garden again ready for the next new yang, waxing time of creation.

This ebb and flow, it is so beautiful when we stop fighting it.

How to work with this week: Do the harvest. Sit with the full cycle from the Taurus new moon that opened on May 16th to the final dark moon days before June 13th, and ask: What changed? What broke through? What did I release? What am I reclaiming? What am I carrying forward? Write it down. And then allow the dark moon days to do what they are designed to do: composting everything that is complete, so that the soil is fertile and alive for what is coming.

How to Use This Map in Your Own Chart

This cycle map gives you the collective weather, the universal energetic environment that we are all moving through together. But every one of these alignments is also activating your own chart in a particular way.

The house that the Taurus new moon falls in for you tells you which area of your life is seeding this cycle. The house that the Sagittarius full moon illuminates tells you where the wild truth is rising in your particular world. The Mars-Pluto square is activating two specific houses in your chart, and those houses tell the story of exactly what is being transformed, where the pressure is building, and what the breakthrough is pointed toward.

When you understand that, when you can look at your chart and say, yes, I do see that this is activating this particular area of my life, that is when the practice becomes extraordinary. You are no longer just reading the weather; you are reading your own evolutionary map, in real time.

We are, all of us, in a powerful moment where many people are feeling it: I need change. Radical transformation. Something’s got to go. Something’s got to shift. This is not sustainable. It can’t keep going on like this.
