you played a criminal amount of GTA Online growing up - and maybe still do.

I’ve had three run-ins with the game (2016, covid, and 2024).

My college degree would be more accurate by having GTA Studies on there rather than finance.

But how is GTA representative of success in the real world?

A quick glance

December 2015. A teenage boy in his awkward years walks into Gamestop.

I got a $50 gift card for Christmas - I thought I was rich.

GTA IV, 2k, and some game that should’ve never been produced.

I got so into GTA IV the other games were never touched.

I loved the game.

It was all I thought about, even though I was terrible from the jump.

But I took action - I kept doing missions over and over, failing over and over, and getting better and better.

Before I knew it, I had beaten the game in like 4 days.

Because I took action, refined my skills, and iterated.

Onto GTA V since I didn’t know it existed until after I beat IV.

Played some story mode then straight into online.

Again, terrible.

But I took a ton of action.

Started making a decent amount of money with basic missions.

Got good at those.

Then moved onto to the OG heists.

Terrible again.

But then I found aligned business partners.

And we ACCELERATED through those heists.

Making more money in less time, and iterating those heists over and over...

Until the motorcycle club update hit.

We got into... the businesses associated with it.

Not so bad at first, then got better and better, making more and more money.

Bunker update...

Casino heist a few years later (probably ran 200 of them).

Then Cayo...

You get the point.

But how does the best video game of all time emphasize the simplest methods of success?

It’s simpler than you think

My net worth on GTA V is pushing $500 million... took a lot of years, improvement, finding the right business partners, and iteration.

And that wouldn’t have been possible without taking the first step - stepping into the game, oblivious to the mission ahead, and being fearless and courageous in the process.

Yes I know you don’t have to be fearless and courageous to play a video game; but hopefully you get the point.

In order to achieve your wildest dreams, you have to step into the fast-paced, ruthless, and wild arena ...

AND JUST PLAY.

Embrace getting punched in the face.

Embrace failing over and over again, even when you don’t want to get up.

Embrace looking like an idiot, when all of your friends and family call you crazy and delusional for taking the action to achieve your wildest dreams.

I was not good at the game at first - I barely knew the controls, I could barely drive a car, and going from mission to mission was like moving up in the world.

But I got better and better.

And eventually, I got to the point in GTA V where I found the best method to make millions of dollars in a few hours, surrounded by the right people.

Quick lessons here:

Step into the arena - step into the action, knowing nothing except where you want to be. It will tough, you will get punched in the mouth over and over again, but it will give you life.

Remember the vision - if you’re in love with the vision, you’ll be in love with the mission.

Take action - do the thing. You know what you need to do. You know the first step. The path reveals itself to those who walk it; but only to those who walk it.

Refine - don’t just be reckless with your action - refine. Daily wins

When you start tracking your daily wins, you train your brain (specifically the RAS) to start unconsciously look for more wins. Eventually, you’ll start to see wins in every moment, compounding into a life of gratitude, wealth, and abundance.

2. Future gratitude

The deepest programming in your brain (the subconscious mind) runs 95% of your function... yet it somehow doesn’t understand the concept of time.

That means all of your thoughts, beliefs, and actions come from a self-image that your subconscious mind inhibits.

This is why hypnosis works - hypnotists can rewire brains in a matter of minutes by firing million upon millions of neurons, provoking somebody’s highest version.

And since the subconscious mind doesn’t understand time, we can rewire it to believe that you’re already where you want to be - therefore, you have the thoughts and beliefs this version of you, prompting you to take more bold and urgent action.

You don’t just achieve your goals faster; YOU COMPRESS TIME.

You will NEVER outperform your self-image...

Start journaling like you’re already there.

3. The 100s

This one changed the way I saw my ability to do difficult things...

You’re going to create a Google Doc of a running list of ALL of your accomplishments - from as big as a $10 million sales to as small as learning how to ride a bike for the first time.

What you’ll start to notice is that you’ve accomplished much more than you’ve ever realized...

And it makes your next goals seem easier, and maybe even small.

Go year-by-year. Take your time with this one. Revisit every 3-6 months and COMPOUND your confidence.

For the rest of these life-changing prompts, see this video.

These have helped over 50 athletes (including college and semipro) and 7-fig entrepreneurs quantum leap. equations...

and honestly your thoughts are insignificant to the bigger picture...

AGAIN, YOU DO NOT CONTROL YOUR THOUGHTS.

The thoughts you have are a direct byproduct of the way you see yourself.

Your reality is a direct byproduct of the actions you take - but the actions you take are based on the thoughts you have, the beliefs you inhibit, and the you your subconscious mind sees you (or your self-image).

Your self-image is HEAVILY reliant upon and influenced by the box on the left. Your circumstances (living situation, $ in bank account, health/fitness, relationships), your environment (the energy in the air, the way your home and city operate), and the people around you SIGNIFICANTLY impact the way you see yourself - resulting in a change of thoughts, beliefs, and therefore action.

But let’s take it another level deeper.

There’s a great argument for your dominant emotional state dictating your reality - if you’re constantly in a state of fear, your thoughts and beliefs will be scarce, you’ll have a poor self-image, and you’ll take limited action.

But if your dominant emotional state is comprised of peace, gratitude, and willingness, you’ll be able to take more risk and action, all at a smoother pace and greater energetic potential - which will COMPOUND into a reality you can be even more grateful for.

But let’s go another level deeper.

Negating the uncontrollables

NOW...

If you’re not in the most circumstance, environment, circle of people etc.

A regulated nervous system can negate ALL of these negative factors and propel you into a more favorable situation that aligns with your dream life.

As one of my most successful mentors says...

You can only get rich if you’re nervous system is regulated.

“Nervous system regulation” at this point is a buzzword... kinda overused - but it’s important to define it and iterate its EXTREME importance and influence it has over your reality.

A regulated nervous system is one that is bulletproof - when you’re cut off in traffic, overwhelmed and stress, or just can’t get anything to go your way, your nervous system stays grounded and calm.

Which protects your dominant emotional state...

Allowing you to have positive thoughts and beliefs...

Which facilitates higher and sustainable action...

Propelling you into a higher reality.

The dominant state of your nervous system controls your reality - EVERYTHING in your reality is a downstream of the dominant state of your nervous system.

The dominant state of your nervous system can either have you peaceful, abundant, and smooth...

OR it can have you in a constant state of FEAR, anxiety, and scarcity.

Trying to overdrive a sensitive nervous system with “positive” thoughts will have your body fighting itself - the subconscious mind (95% of your brain) doesn’t entertain thoughts - it entertains strong emotion and the state of your nervous system, and your nervous system will ALWAYS win.

So while you keep trying to influence your reality with toxic positivity...

This is the protocol I follow to keep my nervous system regulated, so I can create any reality I desire:

Identify your dominant emotional state - “Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate” - Carl Jung. In order to become aware of what’s redlining your nervous system, you must become first aware of your dominant emotional state day-to-day: is it doubtful, fearful, and anxious? Or are you generally living in a state of peace, abundance, and courage? If you’re not ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN it’s the latter, then it’s the former. But that means you have a ton of room for potential to become even greater.

Dive deeper - get your journal out. Once you’ve identified this dominant emotional state, ask why. If it’s fearful, what do you fear? Once you identify all of your fears, why do you fear them? What’s the ABSOLUTE worst case scenario?

Regulation - breathwork. Meditation. Release. We need to lower our brain waves so our analytical brain isn’t firing on all cylinders. Use 4s in, 8s out breathing for 5 minutes to enter a meditative state. Once you’re in this meditative state, you’ll be able to explore these fears without over-analyzing them. Neutralize the fears, feel the tension in your body, and let the tension release and the fears go. Come out of this meditation slowly.

Integration - once you’ve let these fears go and downshifted your nervous system, you must integrate this into your daily life. Be deliberate and smooth in everything you do. Slow down - slow is smooth, smooth is fast. Nothing is important as you make it. Do as much as you can to avoid being in a rush. Moving at 80% will allow you to operate at 100%.

Bulletproofing your nervous system - The protocol above is more of a tool to use when your nervous system is over-firing. HOWEVER, you can strengthen your nervous your system with intermittent hypoxia, the practice of intentional exhale holds.

Exhale holds are extremely powerful because as your body becomes more and more deprived of oxygen, your nervous system shoots into emergency mode. As you become more and more capable of not only holding your exhale longer BUT ALSO staying calm in this emergency mode, your nervous system doesn’t become reactive - it becomes responsive.

And a responsive nervous system is one you control - therefore controlling your thoughts.

The Coherence breathwork app gets me into a regulated state in minutes, while also using the Vortex Method to strengthen my nervous system. reading, breathwork, vision boards and goal-setting...

Ordered more books.

Hired a mentor.

Accomplished A TON in a short amount of time.

But then I hit a plateau...

And one that really stung...

The trap of self-development

Eventually, it became a form of escapism from the real work.

Because your brain registers self-development the same as accomplishing your goals - it thinks you’re advancing, so it wants more of the same dopamine hits that come with self-development.

And eventually, you’re running around the same circles, reading the same things, and “always getting better.”

When in reality, you’re going nowhere...

Which is why this book (not Success Principles) can be you last and FINAL book you’ll ever need for personal development...

Let’s dive into the principles:

1. FULL responsibility

None of personal development matters without this principle - your life is entirely your responsibility - NOBODY else’s.

The basic formula of E + R = O explains this best (event + response = outcome)

There are things we just simply can’t control.

Let’s say you got into a car crash and you were injured, but not at-fault - this is the event.

Your RESPONSE to this event will significantly deter your outcome.

You can either be a victim, complain about it to everybody you know, and wallow in self-pity...

Or choose to become healthy quickly and structure your driving around different times to put yourself in a better position by minimizing your risk to the best of your ability.

Completely control what you can control, and don’t complain about what you can’t.

2. Your biggest limit?

You.

Your identity.

Your self-image.

The way you see yourself and the story you tell yourself.

You will never, EVER outperform the way you see yourself and the emotions that surround the story you constantly tell yourself.

3. Your circle/environment MATTER

You could do 20% of the work you do now around high-performers and achieve 10x more than you do now.

You absorb the beliefs, thoughts, habits, and actions of those you surround yourself with the most.

You might as well make it easy by surrounding yourself with high-level people.

4. Beliefs → thoughts → action

You must believe you can achieve an idea, then dominantly think like the person you want to become, then MOST IMPORTANTLY, ACT like the person you want to become.

No matter what your favorite manifestation guru wants to say, you must have alignment across all three of these planes: mind, body, and spirit.

Or one of them will hold you back like a weak chainlink...

5. Being humble

Most people have the wrong interpretation of humility.

Most people think humility is about being nice and respectful to those around you while not flaunting your achievements/abilities.

And while that does hold some merit...

Humility is more about the internal picture of yourself.

Being humble doesn’t necessarily mean that you need to be “realistic” either...

It’s about being open to constant growth, refinement, and self-awareness.

Being able to be aware of your abilities WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY having the delusional thought-forms that you’re capable of SO MUCH MORE is the humility that the greats hold.

If you’re able to balance humility and hubris well, you’re going to be able to grow at an exponential pace.

For the rest of the points and the book, hit my YouTube where I share 20+ principles that will TRANSFORM your mindset and life.

<a class="image-link image2 is-viewable-img" target="_blank" If you label this state as normal, you neutralize the emotions associated with this state and therefore can look at it with an unbiased lens - it oddly eventually becomes peaceful, because you go from rumination to rest, leading to clarity

Nervous system regulation - easier said than done. When you’re lost/purposeless, your body and mind are going to be more comfortable in fight-or-flight - they want clarity on the future, as it as safe to your survival. But being able to downshift your nervous system is going to be your fallback. Try 2-4 breaths per minute. Extremely slow, extremely controlled, but extremely peaceful and eye-opening. You might even have breakthroughs as soon as your nervous system finally slows down

No forceful thoughts - toxic positivity is your worst friend here (and always). Trying to force yourself to “be positive” will be like pouring water on a wildfire. The fire needs to slowly burn out, not be halted

Rest - you’ll never outwork one of these phases - ever. Spend time with people you love, slow down in the gym, and give your body the capacity to rest, so you can recover and grow. You’ll be able to hold my stress and responsibility as a result of resting. Protocol here.

All of this is much, MUCH easier said than done. live extremely scarce monetarily - they’re paycheck-to-paycheck and can’t fathom holding a lump-sum of money.

As soon as they get their hands on some cash, they flip it immediately on consumerism because their body and nervous system don’t have the capacity to save it OR invest in more skills or in mentor.

So, in projection, money doesn’t buy THEM happiness.

While they know deep down that money gives them more options, their EGO won’t allow them to accept that more money = less problems, therefore more peace.

I don’t believe in worshipping money, but I do certainly believe in its ability to create a life of freedom and peace I desire.

Leaping to more income

If you knew how to double your income, you’d already be making it.

Unfortunately, there are no handbooks to life and not one journey is unilateral to others.

But that’s the beauty of life: your path is unique.

While there isn’t a roadmap, you have the ability to take risks...

Maybe not financially, but with TIME and EFFORT.

Because money is extremely worshipped and valued in this new world of social media and larping, we’ve collectively forgotten that our most valuable currency is our TIME and PEACE.

Therefore, if you can’t take FINANCIAL risk now, you must LEVERAGE your time and effort in order to create a new life.

A new life requires new inputs, bigger risks, and more “sacrifice.”

Leaning into the unknown

Just because there’s no roadmap doesn’t mean that you don’t know what to do.

If you want to 10x your YouTube subscribers quicker, you must try out different things - leverage different analytics, learn how to split test, try new thumbnail formats, run ads, drive traffic from different sources, etc.

What’s funny about life is that 99% of the time, we know what to do.

ESPECIALLY if you’re tapped into meditation and/or prayer.

You will be punished for not listening to your intuition - whether it’s by losing opportunity or by regretting not taking risks...

Your intuition will never yell at you but it’s always clear and it’ll repeat itself a thousand times if it needs to

Act upon your intuition - it might not be right, BUT IT WILL LEAD YOU TO THE NEXT STEP.

and teach you something you didn’t know...

Leveraging pain

Since all pain whether big or small “threatens” our existence, our mind does anything and everything to avoid pain.

Whether it’s physical, mental, or even the smallest of annoyances, we IMMEDIATELY come up with solutions to rid the pain...

Haynes talks about using this to his ADVANTAGE...

He grew up with a family that was poor, broke, and scarce - he wanted to change that trajectory...

So instead of running from the smoke, he took it head-on.

He leveraged the PAIN of feeling insignificant and not enough to become somebody who’s impacted millions of lives via the ripple effect...

What’s your biggest annoyance in your current life right now?
