When Mitch McConnell was a child, he had polio, and I understand complications can stay with you for the rest of your life. But he had been getting around pretty well for an older man until these latest issues surfaced.

Government secrecy is not unusual when it comes to legislators’ medical issues—from Roosevelt to Thurmond to Feinstein. But for something as basic as a fall or whatever minor thing they reported, more transparency should be forthcoming.

During Mitch McConnell’s absence, many votes have been cast where Kentucky had little representation—votes that directly affect how our state conducts business, especially with such thin margins on the Senate floor.
