I did get the new apartment that I’ve been desperately hoping for, and am currently in the middle of a moving chaos as I’m packing for my move tomorrow, on September 1st.

This summer for me, after reflecting upon it as we’re reaching the tail end of it, was all about shedding and rebuilding for this move. Not only moving apartments, but moving into true adulthood (as I turned 27 a couple months ago). It feels more “adult” because I’ll be living alone for the first time.

With that, I curated this month’s prompt around this feeling. Reflection on this summer, and looking forward to this next season as the leaves will start to change colors. Happy writing x

August Reflections

Rather than reflection on individual areas of my life, I wanted to take a step back and look at the bigger picture.

As we move into August, I want to carry that perspective with me: what kind of person do I want to be and what kind of state of being do I want to cultivate (building on everything I learned in July)?

Announcement

Also, before going into the prompts, I wanted to share a quick update for my Substack community. As a reminder for my subscribers, my paid subscribers receive:

Early access to my monthly journal prompts (like this) before the first of the month arrives

Access to all my previous prompts and reflectional pieces

And now, I am thinking of starting a private community chat where we can connect throughout the month. My hope is that chat will be a more intentional space where we can keep each other accountable (especially if you’re trying to be more consistent with journaling) and share our reflections from the prompts. Please let me know what you think in the comments or DM on Instagram! Would love this to be helpful and intentional.

Anyway, happy journaling x

Can you believe it…!?!
With that, this month’s prompts will invite you to reflect not only on June, but also on the first half of the year as a whole.

My heart is that you’ll use this journaling session as an opportunity to reflect and thank yourself for carrying yourself through everything this year has brought so far (because a lot can happen in just 6 months, heck even in just one month).

It’s quite easy for our minds to first go to all the ways you didn’t “achieve” your goals that you’ve written down on January 1st. In this practice, try to focus more on what you have accomplished and the moments you’re proud of. Even the ones you didn’t expect from the beginning of the year.

Remember that your January 1st self didn’t know about the unexpected changes, challenges, or beautiful surprises that would come your way throughout the year.

And then, take some time to think about how you want to move through the second half of 2026. It’s okay to change your goals, reassess your priorities, and allow the rest of the year to look different from what you originally imagined.

Happy journaling x

June Reflections

So you know I really have been “out of it.”

But this instability also forced me to get out of my everyday cycle that I’ve been in and pushed me to question every aspect of my life: Do I really want this? Are these the people I want to surround myself with? How am I really spending my time? What do I want to change? Am I truly becoming who I want to become?

With this in mind, here are my journal prompts for May Reflections and June Intentions.

May Reflections

Before I get into the prompts, as a quick side note: as you can tell from the photo of this month’s journal spread, I replaced what would be my usual photo booth strip with rose petals. They came from the bouquet my parents sent me for my birthday. May was difficult, and so these flowers became a symbol of strength for me — a reminder of the love and support of the people around me. Anyway, these rose petals ended up inspiring this month’s reflection prompts!

“wrong” answers or decisions. over the last few years, i’ve come to understand that it just is — the decision or answer you choose is simply one path out of many. and self-trust means knowing that whichever path you take, you’ll be holding yourself through it all.

it’s about putting less emphasis on the circumstances but instead focusing more on who i am (and who i’ve grown into and will grow into) as a person: from thinking, “is this the right decision?” to “i will choose this, and even if it doesn’t work out, i trust myself enough that i’ll figure it out.”

take a moment to picture who you were just a year ago. maybe your hair looked a little different, maybe you were living in another apartment, another country perhaps, or maybe you were with a partner or friend who is no longer in your life. think of all the questions and uncertainties you had about life then. 365 days later, you’ve come out of it — somehow getting through it all one day at a time. even if you would choose a different path today if you had the chance to go back, isn’t that a part of growth? epiphany as the aftermath of a hero’s journey — a kind of wisdom that was earned only through experience.

carrying that same sentiment, i imagine myself exactly a year from this moment: april 8th, 2027 at 10:30 am. she’s sitting by her wooden desk in her sunlit bedroom — the essence of the room feels similar to the one i’m in now, but it’s in a different space. a whole new environment that she’s completely settled into, that i, my current self, just don’t know about yet. she’s probably writing her next substack article, perhaps a response back to this very one. she smiles as she thinks back to the dilemmas she was having then, because her past-self (the current me) has no idea all the new people she’ll meet, all the new skills she’ll learn, all the breaking and undoing and rebuilding and growing she’ll experience in the next year. she smiles, because at the end of the day, she’s come out of all of them just fine — as she always somehow does.

<a class="image-link image2 is-viewable-img" target="_blank" I wanted to see how hard I could push myself out of devotion. I didn’t let myself sleep until I finished the tasks I said I was going to accomplish. href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjqFcJ4x9pk">No Social Media” challenge and it completely opened my eyes to how often I lean on scrolling to avoid uncomfortable tasks. Tasks even as small and simple as sending an email or folding my laundry. I noticed that whenever I felt a slight resistance (“this is annoying,” “I don’t want to do this”), I’d have a tendency of unconsciously reaching out to my phone to scroll, trying to falsely ease myself from the discomfort. I say falsely, because in reality, the task is still there, waiting and looming over me.

Going through a week of this challenge forced me to face those tasks head on instead of escaping them. Pushing through and sitting with the discomfort: “this is annoying…but I am going to do it anyway.”

February Intentions

All that being said, I want to apply that same sentiment into February. Resisting procrastination and choosing action despite the discomfort, resistance, and fear.

Writing this very Substack post is one of those actions. It’s quite intimidating — the act of trying a new medium and sharing my writing when it doesn’t feel eloquent and “good enough.” But regardless, we do it anyway.

Another goal that I have set for myself aligned to this intention of Action is working out everyday. This past year I’ve learned that I truly feel my best after a workout: I feel more confident, focused, trustworthy, and disciplined — all the qualities I aspire to embody especially after quitting my 9-5 and being self-employed. Being my own boss means I am constantly in communication with myself, and “winning” this daily mental battle (aka working out) helps me to develop a more positive relationship with myself.

To make this challenge more fun, I bought a 2-week unlimited Solidcore class package on 2/1. Just after a week, I can already visibly feel (and see) how much stronger and more confident I’ve become. I’m also vlogging this second week of February to document how I am carrying out this intention, so stay tuned.

Closing Thoughts

Anyway, this concludes my first Substack post. I hope this inspired to you take one action that you’ve been meaning to take. One that will actually move the needle to your purpose and your goals. I am here with you.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read and be with me, I’m very excited (and also a little nervous) to connect with you all in a different platform.

I love you all x

How Subscriptions will work:

Paid Subscribers

Early Access to First of the Month Prompts: I usually post these on or after the first of each month, and if the algorithm doesn’t show it to you in time, it’s easy to miss.
