NETFLIX

Netflix expands its on-air team for the first-ever regular season NFL game in Australia next week. Live from the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sept. 10, coverage kicks off at 6:30 PM ET ahead of an 8:30 PM ET kickoff (Sept. 11, 10:30 AM AEST), as Netflix broadcasts the Week 1 matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams. The studio desk and in-game broadcast team will also return across Netflix’s entire 2026-2027 NFL slate, with more names to come. Studio Coverage will be handled by Elle Duncan (Desk Host), Michael Irvin (Desk Analyst) and Nick Foles (Desk Analyst). Play-by-Play will brcoadcast by Noah Eagle, assisted by Luke Kuechly (Booth Analyst). Netflix’s 2026-27 coverage doesn’t stop in Melbourne. The season continues with the NFL’s first-ever Thanksgiving Eve game on Nov. 25 at 8:00 PM ET (Green Bay Packers vs. Los Angeles Rams); a doubleheader NFL Christmas Gameday on Dec. 25 at 1:00 PM ET and 4:30 PM ET (Green Bay Packers vs. Chicago Bears, followed by Buffalo Bills vs. Denver Broncos); and a Week 18 matchup on Jan. 9 at 1:00 PM ET, the final weekend of the regular season, with playoffs on the line. Last year, Netflix’s Christmas Day broadcast of the Detroit Lions versus the Minnesota Vikings was the most-streamed NFL regular season game in US history.

STARZ has released the key art and trailer for season two of the critically acclaimed prequel series, “Outlander: Blood of my Blood.” Following the epic finale of “Outlander,” fans of the time-traveling universe won’t have to endure an extended “droughtlander” this year, as the latest chapter of the prequel series debuts on Sep 18, with new episodes available to stream weekly on Fridays only on STARZ. The new trailer takes viewers on a journey back in time to 1700s Scotland and the start of the Jacobite Uprising. Everyone has their own war to fight this season, with devastating effects as the series’ two young couples desperately try to find their ways back to each other amid brutal battles, shifting loyalties, clan politics and the unknown elements of traveling through the infamous standing stones of Craigh Na Dun. Season One of “Outlander: Blood of my Blood” introduced viewers to the two different, but equally passionate, love stories featuring the parents of Claire and Jamie as they met and fought to be together against all odds. Longtime “Outlander” In the second season our lovers are separated once again as the Scottish Highlands are split in two by the 1715 Jacobite Rising, thrusting the clans into war and forcing them to choose a side in the rebellion. “Outlander: Blood of my Blood” stars Jeremy Irvine as Henry Beauchamp and Hermione Corfield as Julia Beauchamp, Claire’s parents; and Jamie Roy as Brian Fraser and Harriet Slater as Ellen MacKenzie, Jamie’s parents. In addition, the prequel series stars Tony Curran as Simon Fraser, Lord Lovat, Séamus McLean Ross as Colum MacKenzie, Sam Retford as Dougal MacKenzie, Rory Alexander as Murtagh Fitzgibbons Fraser and Conor MacNeill as Ned Gowan. Matthew B. Roberts serves as the showrunner for “Outlander: Blood of my Blood” as well as executive producer alongside Ronald D. Moore, Maril Davis, Toni Graphia, Luke Schelhaas, Michael Wilson, Jim Kohlberg and Luke Parker Bowles. “Outlander: Blood of my Blood” is produced by Sony Pictures Television.

SPORTS ON CW NETWORK

The CW Network scored a ratings victory last Saturday as the primetime Week 0 non-conference game between New Mexico State and Florida State delivered the largest audience for a sports broadcast in network history, averaging 1.96 million total viewers, per Nielsen Panel + Big Data. Viewership peaked at 2.4 million total viewers from 9:15-9:30pm ET as the Florida State Seminoles defeated the New Mexico State Aggies 34-17. The game also delivered the network’s largest sports audience in the key Adults 25-54 demo (718,000) and was the second strongest primetime broadcast program of the night in the demo, surpassing all shows on ABC, CBS and NBC. The CW is the home for another action-packed weekend of sports beginning this Saturday, September 5, as the Miami (OH) RedHawks visit the Pittsburgh Panthers with coverage kicking off live at 12:00pm ET / 9:00am PT. The 2026 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series Chase for the Championship begins from the legendary Darlington Raceway at 6:30pm ET/3:30pm PT, followed by a late-night Mountain West showdown between UNLV and Hawai‘i beginning at 10:00pm ET/7:00pm PT.On Sunday, September 6, AVP concludes its 2026 season with beach volleyball league championships from Chicago at 2:00pm ET / 11:00am PT, followed by PBR Team Series Thunder Days from Ridgedale, Missouri, at 4:00pm ET / 1:00pm PT. All events will be broadcast live on The CW Network and stream live on the ESPN App for viewers with an ESPN Unlimited subscription plan.

Borough Productions is presenting Art Shulman’s first play, originally produced in 2002, ‘September 10,’ being revived for the 25^th anniversary of 9/11. One evening a woman confesses to her husband that she’s been unfaithful. The date is September 10, 2001. The next morning, their private crisis is eclipsed by a national tragedy -- best known as 9/11. As the couple watches coverage on television, and works through their relationship, we meet various ordinary people affected by the event: a sportswriter, a firefighter, a woman rediscovering her faith, a graffiti artist, a street vendor selling American flags, an evangelist, and others. Whitefire Theatre in Sherman Oaks will be hosting the Premiere of Texas Sodomy: The Incredible True Story of Lawrence v. Texas, a world premiere play written and directed by Howard Skora. What begins as a drunken arrest grows into a constitutional battle stretching from Houston to Washington, DC. • Hollywood history meets immersive theater: Noah Blake returns to Vitello’s to direct and star in genre-bending comedy-mystery, A Killer Night in Studio City. For actor and director Noah Blake, Vitello’s is more than a landmark Studio City restaurant. It is a place inextricably connected to his family’s history—and to one of the most public chapters of his life. This fall, Blake returns to Vitello’s, a genre-bending theatrical experience that transforms the iconic restaurant into the setting for a fictional 1958 Hollywood murder mystery. His father, acclaimed actor Robert Blake, was a longtime regular at the restaurant, which later became forever associated with the 2001 murder of Blake’s second wife, Bonny Lee Bakley, after she and Blake dined there. Twenty-five years later, Noah Blake is returning to a venue with an undeniable place in his own history—not to revisit the past, but to create something entirely new. ELATE Theatre Company is presenting prolific British playwight Alan Ayckbourn’s ‘This Is Where We Came in’ at the Lincoln Stegman Theatre in North Hollywood. Directed with imaginative flair by Vsevolod Yuri Krawezeniuk, the production runs through Aug 30. Ayckbourn’s work, written for family audiences, offers rapid-paced comical subversions of classic fables, Hansel and Gretel and The Frog Prince, underscored with anti-social interactions. Ayckbourn does not talk down to children and the ELATE cast handles the task with aplomb. Underscoring the action is Sammie on Sound, played to robotic perfection by Callie Sorce. The three aged storytellers are aptly named Great Aunt Repetitus (Lynn De Young), Aunt Erraticus (Catherine Brown) and Uncle Oblivious (Gregg Stickeler). Young, Brown and Stickeler embrace their namesake’s proclivities, particularly Stickeler, who projects impressive humor while not moving at all. The put-upon actors – Nell, (Anna Booher), Bethany (Kappa V), Talitha (Kelli Crawford), Albert (Samwise Aaron) and Fred (Allen Corcoran), who have to perform whatever is thrown at them, move smoothly though their tasks. Kappa V effortlessly communicates the calm but evil intentions of Talitha the witch. On the other hand, Samwise Aaron offers boundless energy as the actor who is determined to get everything right. As Fred (Allen Corocran) the actor who doesn’t understand who he is or why he is there, is too understated at the beginning but finds his place in the milieu of activity by play’s end. SOLO MOJO AT ENSEMBLE THEATRE COMPANY

Ensemble Theatre Company is presenting a special event: acclaimed actor Joe Spano starring in a staged reading of a new play, King Of The Wild Frontier by John Romano, directed by Jenny Sullivan. Joseph McCarthy on the Senate floor, condemning his tactics in a speech that became known as the “Declaration of Conscience.” International City Theatre presents the Los Angeles premiere of Tony Award®-winning playwright Joe DiPietro’s fast-paced drama about trailblazing Sen. Smith, whose “Declaration of Conscience” speech became a defining act of political courage. FX’s “The Shards” premiered Aug 5. In a first-of-its-kind partnership with Netflix, Rockstar Games has announced that Netflix subscribers will have the opportunity to watch an extended look at ‘Grand Theft Auto VI,’ on Aug 27 (3pm, ET) before unlocking free on YouTube six hours later. The new iteration in the blockbuster series comes 13 years following the debut of GTAV, the same year that Netflix was beginning its push into original programming. This collaboration represents the next generation of storytelling and content on Netflix.

The official trailer and key art for Chris Carter’s highly anticipated director’s cut, “The X-Files: I Want to Believe – Vrach Frankenshteyn” are now revealed. Carter’s R-Rated Director’s Cut premieres Aug. 14 on Disney+ and Hulu. The original 2008 film “The X-Files: I Want to Believe“ will also be available the same day. When a group of women is mysteriously abducted, it becomes a case right out of The X-Files. Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum presents a darkly funny, pinche new comedy by L.A. Drama Critics Circle Award-winning playwright Bernardo Cubría. Co-directed by Ellen Geer and Xochitl Romero, ‘The People of Pompeii’ is set in Topanga Canyon, the bohemian enclave that is home to both Theatricum and the playwright himself. Weeks after the Palisades Fire narrowly spares their Topanga home, Carlos and Vera invite friends over for a celebratory dinner party meant to restore a sense of normalcy. The People of Pompeii dissects performative progressivism, gentrification, race, class and the uneasy social dynamics between longtime canyon residents and wealthy newcomers searching for authenticity as Topanga becomes increasingly trendier and more elite. The world premiere of a new stage adaptation of The Hour of the Star, the acclaimed novella by Brazilian novelist Clarice Lispector, is set for a limited, five-performance engagement at The Broadwater (July 25-Aug 1). Conceived and directed by Alex Tietre from the English translation by Pulitzer Prize-winning author and Lispector biographer Benjamin Moser, the production stars Brazilian actress Bruna Fachetti. Lispector’s novella, first published in 1977, follows Macabéa, a poor typist living on the margins who dreams of a better life in Rio de Janeiro.nFachetti embodies six different characters, retaining Rodrigo S.M.’s meta-narrative structure that allows the narrator to address the audience and explore existential questions. Recently established A Few Thoughts Theatre Company is presenting its inaugural production, the Premiere of “Slava Ukraini! (or Waiting for Elon), “ written by Keith Szarabajka. The cast includes Jasmine Kimiko (Olha), James Morris (as Vitaliy), Christopher Reiling (as Yevgeny), directed by Tony Pasqualini. The Russia-Ukraine War has been going on since 2014, with Russia launching a full-scale invasion in 2022. It is estimated that total casualties (including the dead, wounded, and missing) across both militaries surpass two million. Roughly ten million Ukrainians have been forced from their homes. All with remarkably little accomplished on either side. This is the story of three soldiers, two Ukrainian and one Russian. The three are trying to find some meaning for their actions, and the actions of their countries. Vitaliy, the younger Ukrainian soldier, is convinced that Elon Musk will come to save them. Open-Door Playhouse continues to present short plays in podcast form. The Playhouse is presenting a new play, Charlotte, written by Sasha Cohen, starting July 29, online at http://opendoorplayhouse.org. Joseph is desperate to find help for his troubled trans daughter, Charlotte. He seeks the counsel of a renowned transgender activist, Jenna. But Jenna is the trans woman he bullied in high school. She has never forgiven him. Bernadette Armstrong directs a cast that includes Noelle Evangelisti as Jenna, Gilbert Glenn Brown as Joseph, Gloria Tsai as Anne, and Camille Ameen as Clara. Los Angeles Women’s Theatre Festival (LAWTF) is hosting “Wisdom and Wonder: An Intergenerational Storytelling Workshop” pairing seniors and young people in an 8-week storytelling program in North Hollywood. Guided by Los Angeles Women’s Theatre Festival (LAWTF) professional teaching artists, participants will develop personal narratives, fostering cultural and generational exchange and understanding. This program will culminate in a public showcase followed with a Q&A with the audience. LAWTF will bring together 10 high school students from the North Hollywood area and 10 senior citizens of the NoHo Senior Arts Colony, a residential community, and pair them one-on-one. By connecting participants who share the same neighborhood but rarely interact, the project bridges generational divides and invites meaningful exchange across age, culture, and lived experience. Through a creative storytelling process, teens and seniors will build relationships, uncover shared and contrasting perspectives, and strengthen intergenerational connection within their own community. The program is slated to run from September to November 2026. Dates are to be announced following identification of all participants. The workshop is planned to take place every Saturday from 2pm to 4pm for the eight weeks that the program runs. Today, Apple TV unveiled the trailer for “Snoopy Presents: There’s No Place Like Home Snoopy,” premiering globally on Friday, July 31. In the new original special under the Snoopy Presents banner, Snoopy is devastated when his beloved doghouse is accidentally sold at a yard sale. Netflix’s ‘Heartstopper Forever’ focuses on two friends, Nick and Charlie, who are inseparable. Doubts take hold, and their relationship faces its biggest challenge yet. Meanwhile, their friends are also navigating the ups and downs of love and friendship, confronting the bittersweet challenges of growing up and moving on. Can first loves really last forever. Written by Alice Oseman, based on the book series, Heartstopper by Oseman, three series of eight episodes each were released between 2022 and 2024. In April 2025, Netflix announced that the screen adaptation would conclude with a feature-length finale film, Heartstopper Forever, which will air on July 17. ChaiFlicks is turning up the heat this July with one of the most popular Israeli romantic comedy series, ‘Bloody Murray,' starring the multi-award- actresses, Rotem Sela and Naomi Levov. The romantic comedy is a take on the “messy magic of friendship,” following two 30-something roommates, Murray (Levov) and Dana (Sela), both successful, bright...yet still single women. The series highlights their contrasting, yet deeply connected personalities, their somewhat messy romances, and the inevitable ticking time clock of being a 30-something single woman. Murray is a film lecturer specializing in romantic comedies, and Dana is a gynecologist at a hospital. Their friendship is tested when Dana falls for the man Murray ditched in a hit-and-run accident (which was Murray’s fault), who then shows up at their doorstep to give Murray a piece of his mind and return a lost piece of luggage. Murray, who is struggling with feelings of loneliness and regret, realizes she has feelings for him, too. Despite their turbulent first interaction (the hit and run) Murray convinces herself that he is actually meant for her – after all, this is how all classic romantic comedies begin…isn’t it? The first season of “Bloody Murray” consists of nine 25-minute episodes, created and written by Stav Idisis, produced by Kastina Communications and yes TV, and distributed by yes Studios. Odyssey Theatre Ensemble’s Thresholds of Invention series presents Tensions, Personified, an afternoon of readings of one-act plays by John Binder. In these four works from his recently published volume of 12 short plays, Binder explores the various permutations of tensions that arise between people — sexual, parental, friends, exes. Hosted by series co-founder and curator Tony Abatemarco, the performance stars Jackie Cuccaro, Alex Field, Talia Field, Derek Manson, Marti Skoler, Casey Sullivan, Cark Weintraub, Nick Paul White and Miranda Machele Wynne in readings of Little Willy and the Spunky Monkey; Leaving Ed or Bloody Waters; Family Tree, or All the Men in Our Family Are Assholes; and Anything But Love. Binder’s long career includes documentary filmmaking, co-founding Paradigm Films in New York, working on the documentary, Woodstock, then writing and directing in Hollywood for decades including making his honored film UFOria. STARZ announced today that it is serving as co-production partner for the U.S. and Canada on the Channel 4 Television commissioned drama “Maya.” The gripping new six-part drama will air exclusively on STARZ in the U.S. and Canada and will premiere worldwide on Channel 4 in the UK and Ireland (premiere date TBA). NEW THEATER FOR YOUTH ON THE HORIZON

Theater4All, a new nonprofit theater company founded by longtime talent representative, entrepreneur, writer, and arts advocate, John Epstein, now Producing Artistic Director of the organization, has launched with a mission to broaden accessto live theatre for youth, families and audiences across Southern California. Rooted in Epstein’s career representing and supporting emerging artists in Los Angeles, Epstein steps into the role of patron and advocate, supporting initiatives designed to reduce financial barriers and create pathways for youth, families, underserved communities, and first-time theatergoers to experience live performance. Theater4All’s debut production, Crone Creed is premiering as part of the El Portal Theatre’s landmark 100th anniversary season (date TBA). Launching this initiative in such an historic venue Epstein honors the past while actively building a more accessible, inclusive future for the next generation of theatergoers. In celebration of El Portal Theatre’s 100th anniversary season, Theater4All is partnering with the historic venue on a special accessibility initiative to welcome new and first-time audiences.
