Several years ago, I ran some paid ads on FB for my free Human Design energy type and authority guide.

Since my business/brand is all about manifesting/getting results by doing what lights you up, feels good, and feels like you – I chose a picture that I thought captured that exact vibe:

All I saw when looking at that was a happy mofo at the beach, ready to teach you about Human Design! Lol.

Now, because a lot of people don’t believe in HD or manifestation – and also, because Facebook is the 9th ring of hell – I was prepared for comments like, “This is bullshit” and “What a scam.”

I don’t care what anyone says – Rebecca Black is an inspiration and a freaking icon.

Yes, I am talking about that Rebecca Black. The one involuntarily launched into internet infamy in 2011, and subject at 13 YEARS OF AGE to insane levels of global hatred for releasing a song that people thought was bad.

Because besides the feat of just getting through something most grown adults couldn’t handle 10% of...

(Seriously. We’ve all seen people buckle under much less scrutiny)

Now?

She’s fulfilling her dreams of becoming a professional artist – from DJing Boiler Room sets to performing at Lollapalooza and Outside Lands to touring with Katy Perry.

All while growing a cult following of people who focus on her because they freaking LOVE her.

It’s been pretty incredible to see.

That’s why when I saw this video last year 👇🏼 I was like, ohhhhh….

This is a big reason why.

Even though what Rebecca is talking about her is fashion/artistry – it covers a much deeper truth of manifestation that anyone who wants to manifest anything needs to know:

If you want something, you need to first BE the person who has it.

And that’s not even a principle of manifestation.

It is manifestation.

You don’t manifest what you want; you manifest what you are.

From a Law of Attraction perspective, that’s because you can only “attract” whatever exists on the same vibration you do – so you must first be that vibration.

From a Law of Assumption perspective, your external reality isn’t just a reflection of you, it IS you. Everything is a result of what you put at the end of “I AM…” so if you want the things you see to change – you must first change how you see yourself.

You’re it, and then the outside world matches. Every time.

So you cannot wait to be shown from the outside that you are famous, rich, cool, interesting, hot, successful, talented, or deserving enough for it to be true.

You do not get to where you want to be by, saying, “Ah, well, actually, I’m not really there yet.”

No.

You. Go. First.

I was also stoked because people in the comments obviously also understand this 😂🙌🏼

Rebecca is one of the most recent in a LONG line of people to show us this.

• David Bowie cycled through countless failed bands/acts for years of his career – but the whole time, he was already acting the role of “star performer.” Both on- and off-stage, he was living as DAVID BOWIE!!!!! even though he hadn’t written a single hit, didn’t think he was a great singer, and was playing a bunch of meh venues.

• Muhammad Ali didn’t wait for a title to start acting like he was the greatest. In fact, long before he had proof, he was telling anyone who would listen.

• Lady Gaga has talked about how she was purposefully delusional about being famous, recognized, and successful… until the world agreed with her, like 10 years later. #applause

Jim Carrey wrote himself that $10M check, Stevie Nicks saw herself up on stage over and over again, etc. etc.

The cool part is: anyone can do this.

No matter what your “dream” – or hell, just your “want” – is.

These people aren’t special. Don’t get me wrong, they’re talented, hardworking, and tenacious. But let’s be honest, there are a lot of talented and hardworking people in their fields who never make it to their level of success, wealth, or fame. So that doesn’t exactly explain their results.

What set them apart was the fact that they claimed the identity of being the person who had what they wanted — and they did not let go of it.

They understood how energetics work, and they used them.

(Even if they didn’t realize that’s what they were doing!)

“I AM”

Underlying all laws of manifestation – but in particular, the Law of Assumption – is the idea that the universe is literally just you.

That sounds confusing, but it’s really quite simple.

The Law of Assumption goddaddy, Neville Goddard, taught us that even though the outside world seems separate from and more solid than our inside world – it’s not.

Everything, from yourself to your body to the people you meet to the events in your life to your pet to The Rockefeller Center are, and are made of, the same thing:

👉🏼 Consciousness (or “awareness”).

Now, because…

1. You are consciousness

2. Your external reality is also consciousness

3. You = your external reality + the universe on the whole

Your reality only exists in reference to YOU, so if you want to change something – you must first change your concept of yourself.

In other words:

However you perceive yourself (how you are conscious of yourself) directly determines what you experience in your external reality.

That’s the only place from which anything ever originates.

That’s why Neville said there is only one substance of the universe, and that substance is “I AM.”

When you say, “I AM [adjective]” (or honestly, any “I” or “Me” statements), you are not just describing yourself.

You are placing your consciousness on something, and then that gets shown to you on the outside through the experiences you have.

Whether that’s:

I AM rich

I AM broke

I AM loved

I AM lonely + unliked

I AM lucky

I always get what I want

Nothing ever works out for ME

I AM a winner

I AM always in last place

I AM worthy

I AM always having to prove I’m enough

I make lots of money doing what I love

I can’t get paid for what I like

This is true even if we don’t say things purposefully in reference to ourselves, because it’s still all you. So if you say something like “The job market is terrible,” or “Making $40K/month is so hard,” you may not realize it – but you’re saying it’s terrible and hard for you.

Which is no bueno because that’s not what we want.

Luckily, we can change that!

Everything you want is downstream of your identity.

Ok, so we get that everything is our I AM, and our I AM is everything, right?

That means if you assume the identity of being the person who has what you want…

Then by golly, that external reality must adhere to that as truth.

It’s also why, when you nail this – it kind of doesn’t matter what you do. You’ll get the thing.

The great lie we’ve been sold is that your results come down to what you do.

No.

It comes down to your energy.

Once you enter the reality where you’re the version of yourself with [insert desired outcome here], you are already an energetic match for it.

And energetic matches will always win over “doing.”

This is why there are people working half as hard as you do who are respected, get recognized, who make friends easily, who get the brand deals and sell out crowds, who make 6 figures a year as a standard, etc.

It’s because they’ve got the identity locked down.

(That’s not to say they aren’t talented or don’t work hard! Many of them do. And, many don’t.)

It’s also why if you do NOT identify as the person who has the thing, no amount of busting your ass will ever get you there.

It’s because even if you’re doing all the right stuff – and a lot of it – your consciousness is not there.

If your consciousness isn’t there, you are not an energetic match for it.

And your results will show it.

My favorite part about all of this is that identity is not a one-off thing – meaning when you shift your identity, your results are also not a one-off thing.

Even neuroscience shows this!

Studies have shown that individuals will predictably act in ways that support their pre-existing beliefs about themselves (cough cough, self concept).

Basically: when you nail this, you set yourself up for these awesome results to be your default, instead of something you need to actively figure out/try for.

You’re already doing it

Everything in our reality is a result of manifestation, which means you are already always manifesting.

Since you must inhabit the identity of someone who experiences something before it can manifest in your reality – and things are always manifesting — this also means you’re already stepping into new/out of old identities all the time.

Much of the time we’re not aware we’re doing this, but sometimes you do do it on purpose.

You just may not have realized that’s what you were doing.

For example: if you decide you want to read a certain book, and then you get the book (whether you order it online, get it at the library, or find it laying on the sidewalk somewhere), by the time you got the book, you were already in the identity of the person who had it. There was no other way you could have received it.

The same goes for a sudden windfall, unexpected win, or your friend calling you when you were just thinking of them.

So this is not something you need to learn to do.

It’s something to learn to redirect.

This is how you get the “big” stuff you want, just like the easy “small” stuff – which is 100% possible for you, no matter who you are.

I say that with such confidence because I’ve done it.

I started out with very little hope or belief in life, and now I have a lot of the things I didn’t even dare to dream about. The difference between me and anyone else is that I kept an open mind, and kept going.

(Mostly because I was like, “Well, the other option is feeling shitty, so… not that,” but, you know. Still.)

I always say… if I can do this, you absolutely can!

How to start shifting your identity (not hard)

Again, we go way more into this in the 21-Day Challenge — including how to get past the biggest blocks that prevent most people from actually seeing the changes they want with identity work — but these are great start.

1. Describe your reality/life as it is, right now.

These will show you what assumptions you’re currently holding, because our reality is only ever a reflection of what we assume it to be.

You can write it, say it, think about it.

Include both the things you like and the things you don’t like.

For example:

• I have a house

• I live in southern California

• It’s so hard to get seen on social media as a business owner

• My mom has a lovely golden retriever puppy, Milo

• Milo is really obedient, good, and sweet nowadays

• Gray hairs keep popping up on my head (wtf, lol)

• My ex-boyfriend is so bitter, petty, and immature

• Super weird dudes speak to me inappropriately at bars

• Topturns in surfing are hard

• My back still hurts when I squat

• My arms look amazing

2. Put these in “I AM” or “I” statements.

This will show you what identity you’re inhabiting, through these assumptions, that’s creating these results.

That’s really important, because that’s how we know where to shift things!

For most people, this is a very eye-opening experience. We keep seeing things we don’t like in our reality, work furiously to change them… but still they barely budge, because the assumption and the associated identity remains the same.

Some of them might already be in that format, but if not, write them out so they are in reference to you and your experience of them.

You could rephrase them around the exact experience you’re having:

• I AM experiencing Milo as a really obedient, good, and sweet dog

• It’s so hard for ME to get seen on social media as a business owner

• I AM seeing my ex-boyfriend as bitter, petty, and immature

• I HAVE really great arms

• I AM the kind of girl that weird dudes try to hit on at bars

OR, you can do it in terms of more general feels/vibes:

• I AM proud and relieved (Milo being well-behaved)

• I AM misunderstood, upset, and treated unfairly (ex-boyfriend)

• I AM disappointed, frustrated, and stuck (social media/business experience)

• I AM lean and strong (arms)

• I AM seen as vulnerable or an easy target (weird guys at bars)

3. If you don’t want one of these identities – replace it with what you do want.

Again, you can do this with an actual situation, or just the general vibe that you’d associate with it. Either one is ok, and I’d suggest going with what feels best to you.

For example:

• I AM so successful on social media with my business/I AM so successful, accomplished, and good at this

• I HAVE a good relationship with my ex-boyfriend/I AM understood

• I AM beautiful, valued, respected, and untouchable

When you can embody this — consistently — that’s how you can start to see some freaking amazing changes in your life.

The version of you who has what you want is way closer than you think 👀

And they’re waiting for you. Not the other way around.

You don’t have to create them. You don’t have to become them. You don’t have to achieve anything before you can step into them. You don’t even have to believe they’re available to you!

You just need to let yourself be them.

But — if you’re like most people, you’re still like, “OK, sure, but WAY easier said than done” or “I’ve tried, and it was just so hard”…

PSSST! There’s something special at the end of this post, so even if you don’t read the whole thing (fair lol)… make sure to scroll to the bottom so you don’t miss it.

One of my clients vm’d me last week about something she really, really wants – but is, to quote her directly, feeling “a ton of resistance around”:

OK so update and a question!

I’m going to San Diego next week for a wedding and I originally booked a flight for Thursday morning. Last night I randomly thought, “Wait, I already have Thursday off. What if I could just fly out Wednesday night instead? Then I could have the whole day in SD.” I mentioned it to my boyfriend and then I just let it go.

Then today, I got an email from Southwest saying my flight qualified for a free change and I could get a travel credit for switching. When I looked at the flights, there was an 8 p.m. flight on Wednesday—the exact night I’d wanted to go, at basically the perfect time!!

SO I decided I’m also going to Portugal for my friend’s wedding… but I haven’t bought my ticket yet, because I keep thinking, “How the fuck am I going to afford all of this?”

I can feel that I’m treating Portugal as a much “bigger” manifestation, even though I KNOW that one manifestation isn’t inherently bigger than another. How do I manifest this when I can feel that I’m looking at it like this, and it’s really hard to look at it another way?

So first off: Yes. This is so real. If you are here, I feel you.

It’s also totally okay – because IT IS PART OF LEARNING TO MANIFEST THE BIGGER THINGS!

This is normal, and it’s a part of the process. Literally everyone goes through this (even those of us with belief and optimism coming out of the wazoo 💨).

Every time you elevate to a new level of consciousness and allow more and more goodness into your life, you will be faced with another, “This feels big because [I’ve never done it before, no one like me has done it before, it looks really hard, I don’t know how it would happen, etc].”

And every time, you will see it was like last time. It just feels like it was going to be different (it’s not).

What’s funny to me is this specific client is actually a fantastic example of this.

She's used what I’ve taught her and has already gotten several things she wanted by using what she learned in it. WITHOUT TRYING.

(Oh, and it was within about a month of her taking it).

And these weren’t just little desires.

These were things she had desperately wanted, and did not feel “small” to her.

We have examples of how this stuff works. We really do.

And when we know the mechanics behind WHY that works, we can apply them to get literally anything else we want!

We just become better, over time, at remembering that all of this stuff is neutral, and as easy to obtain as we let it be. That’s all.

We get more and more examples under our belt to convince our minds/brains, which gives us ammo every time our minds try to convince us that this thing is the exception.

Because, it’s really not. It never is.

Second:

If it feels difficult to look at this as an easy thing to get, or an of-course-it-will-happen-it’s-just-like-anything-else situation…

There’s something else very effective we can do to magnetize it to us.

Take it off the pedestal.

I know people hate hearing that.

After all, most people don’t turn to manifestation for shits and giggles.

They look to these principles because they really want something – sometimes, desperately – and they haven’t seemed to be able to get it.

So being told, “Don’t make it so important!” sounds the same as, “Hey! Give up on any and all hope of being happy and enjoying life!!!!”

But before you throw your laptop into the ocean/a river/your neighbor’s above-ground-pool, understand that this does not mean you don’t get the thing.

You still get to have the thing, but the way you access it is through releasing this desperate energy around it.

It’s scary, but if you’re willing to do it…

(and most people are not, which is a big part of the reason they never get those, reality-breaking, dream-making, awesome things they want)

It’s how you go from “damn it, I want it so bad, where is it, to “Oh, there it is. When did that get there? And how did it feel so easy and normal????”

And damn. At the end of the day, isn’t that kind of what we all want?

Say it with me: “I want this, I don’t need it.”

The most important part to de-pedestalization is simply the recognition that this desire you have is not something you need – it’s something you want.

Those are not the same thing, and it’s ~very important~ that we at least acknowledge that’s the case.

That doesn’t make it unimportant. It doesn’t mean you need to want it less. It also doesn’t make you silly for so badly wanting it.

But it’s not a “need” – and this is a super important distinction for us to impress upon the mind/brain.

Consciously, we know that our desires are just that; they are not essentials for survival.

Yet the brain doesn’t see it that way.

When you focus on a desire with so much desperation, charge, and stress, it absolutely goes into survival mode. It looks at it as a life-or-death situation, even when it’s pretty obviously not.

(I mean, IDK about you, but I’m probably going to survive even if I never get rid of my cellulite, get that 437 scarlet red workout set, or hit $1M/year in my business.)

This is a problem, because when the brain sees what we want as a NEED, it puts everything else on hold.

That sounds like a good thing, because — all resources are directed at the problem, right??

…Wrong.

When we put the rest of our lives on hold to get something, we are not living in the vibration of being the person who has what we want… and that’s going to block what you want.

Because you’re not in the vibration of already having it!

Not only that, but if there’s an opportunity or action we could take to make what we want happen, the brain does a whole host of dumb things that make it harder for us to see them. So, ultimately, we end up feeling even more stuck.

On the other hand, when you look at this thing as an “Eh, I’ll be alright either way, I’m taken care of” kind of thing – it becomes soooooo easy to get it.

That’s why my client was able to manifest the flight change to San Diego so effortlessly.

She saw it as a preference, not something that would determine whether or not she was going to be happy/fulfilled/satisfied/joyful/okay.

If you look at whatever it is YOU want as a preference, instead of a mustmustmustmustorelseI’lldie… the same thing will happen for you!

Whenever I’m getting really attached to, desperate for, or stressed about something I want, I remind myself:

“I want this, I don’t need it. It does not determine whether I live or die.”

This does not mean:

• Your life would not be better for having this thing.

• Your current circumstances don’t suck.

• You have to totally stop caring (that’s really a result of doing this, not something you have to force).

And I’m DEFINITELY not saying you have to settle for less than what you truly want!

What I’m telling you to do is to separate WANT from NEED is going to help you get out of the space of lack, and into the space of neutrality/okayness – AKA, the absolute sweet spot we want to be in when it comes to manifesting 🍬

IMPORTANT: Say this even if you don’t actually believe it or feel it. That is not the point. The point is the acknowledgement of it. This is what begins to shift things.

Don’t confuse the thing with the feeling

This. Is. Huge.

And honestly – it’s the #1 reason we get so freaking attached. To anything. Even more than the “I’m not actually sure it’s coming” (which is also a big one):

When we’re really attached to something, it’s because we are convinced that we cannot feel the way we want to feel unless/until we have the thing in our 3D reality.

This makes sense. You want something because of how you think it will make you feel. That’s why you want to manifest it. You think it will make your life better in some way.

Again, I’m not saying it won’t!

But if you tell yourself that this is the one and only thing that will ever allow you to feel the way you want to feel…

That will make you cling to it. HARD.

As a result, you will not let yourself feel the feeling now in other parts of your life, because you’re so terrified that it means you will not get the thing.

Since feeling like you’re there now is VITAL to tapping into the energetic state where you have the thing – i.e., where you actually manifest it…

That means you’re essentially blocking the very energy that will help you manifest what you want, out of fear that letting yourself be in that energy will… block you… from getting what you want?

(???? The mind is strange).

And this is no bueno.

Now, we all know, even if it’s deep down inside, that this thing we want is definitely not the only thing that can make us feel good or happy.

Because, let’s be honest – we’ve all felt those feelings without the thing. That proves the energy/feeling/emotion is already available to us. We have accessed it before, whether it was when you (a) were actually in possession of it at the time, (b) have never had it, but are imagining having it, or (c) are out living and enjoying your life, not thinking about the thing at all.

Because the truth is that, as annoying as it is to hear:

Feelings don’t come from things.

Things come from feelings.

Always. Full stop. THAT IS MANIFESTATION.

We already have those feelings available to us on the inside. Always. When we realize that, the whole situation becomes so much less dire – and we can detach so much more easily.

After all, if you can just get there by feeling it, then there isn’t so much pressure to get the outside exactly right!

So ask yourself 👇🏼

1. What am I afraid I will never feel if I don’t get this thing?

2. If I never got this thing I thought would make me feel this way – would I not let myself feel the way I want for the rest of my life?

It will be eye-opening, because it’ll explain exactly why you’re clinging to this thing like it’s a door floating in the Atlantic.

EXAMPLE – We determined that my client, who we know has massive FOMO, was afraid that if she didn’t get the money to go to Portugal, she wouldn’t get to feel…

• Fun

• Adventure

• Excitement

• Connection

• Alive

Which is also kind of hilarious, because this woman goes on more trips, sees more artists live, hikes, tries more new things, meets more new people in 2 months than most people do in 2 years! She is the most alive person I know.

When we talked about this, I asked her,

“Do you really think this is the only thing that could ever make you feel that way?” Her answer was, “No. Of course not.”

Because… ofc not!

Feel it now (as much as possible).

Now that you know what you want to feel…

We also start seeing that our main job is to FEEL WHAT WE WANT JUST BECAUSE WE WANT TO FEEL IT, because it was never the thing that was going to give us the feeling in the first place.

The thing is extra, really.

The feeling is not the consolation prize. It’s the championship trophy 🏆

This changes everything. You don’t put all of your energy into this one thing – or yourself getting the thing – to determine whether or not you are going to be/feel okay. You can actually detach, which is what allows the things you want to flow easily to you.

Detachment is CATNIP for the universe!!!!

NOTE: If you’re like, “Ariana, I just don’t feel good in this situation” – don’t worry, you do not need to force yourself to feel anything.

Your natural state – the one you drift back to when you stop focusing on what you believe you lack – is one of fulfillment, peace, and satisfaction. It’s a state of feeling good.

This is what you return to when you let go.

The problem for most of us is that we actually do feel little tidbits of what we want… and then by the law of attraction, those feelings attract more of those feelings…

But we stop them before they can really get on a roll 🤷🏻‍♀️

We look around and think about how the thing we want isn’t here yet – and then we don’t continue to let ourselves feel the way we want to.

So if that’s the case, all I want you to do right now is stop focusing so much on the lack of the thing, or what feels like the problem right now.

The reason our problems (including the problem of not having what we want) stick around is because we constantly keep it in our awareness. We don’t usually realize it, but we are doing that.

This is why diverting your attention away, and getting to a place of neutrality, is more than enough.

It’s already better than what you’ve been doing, and it WILL pull you up to the open, receptive place where you both feel good + get what you want on the outside!

I won’t lie, it will probably take some time, but this is the easiest approach you can take to get there.

Change your identity.

When you step into the identity of someone for whom something (like having what you want) is a given, you don’t cling to the things you want so much – because you know you’re the person who already has them.

And that person knows they don’t need to worry about whether they’ll feel what they want to feel, or get what they want to get.

They are simply that kind of person. That’s the way life works for them!

BTW – we’re going to go waaaaaay in depth with this in the upcoming 21-Day Identity Reset Challenge, but here’s something super effective I would tell you to do RIGHT now 👇

1. Start by coming up with ONE affirmation that you would be saying if you were the kind of person who already had what you want (or that kind of thing always happened for you).

Put this into an I AM, I HAVE, or …FOR ME format. Whatever you choose, remember we are talking about how this relates to you.

Make it the kind of thing you would actually say to yourself about your reality if you were looking around and describing something you enjoy about it.

If you want, it can be more specific, but I actually really like general affirmations when I’m trying to stay detached.

Because

(1) That’s usually how we talk about this stuff — when we’re asked to describe what we have in life, we don’t really go into detail saying, “I have the 437 v leggings in scarlet red in my closet and I wear them all the time and they look really good with these shoes and and and.” We stay general.

And

(2) It’s all too easy to get overly attached to the thing if you get really specific. It’s your life, so do whatever the hell you want, but if you’re reading this article… you may be in a place where getting overly specific will focus you on the THING instead of the FEELING and OVERALL IDENTITY, which is what will manifest what actually makes you feel good.

My favorite one is “Everything works out for me,” or “I’m always so blessed.”

2. Choose the one that feels the most open/available to you – AND, feels like you can find examples for.

They can be little examples. It doesn’t matter.

We’re just trying to go for the things that feel the most like, “Oh, yeah. I am like that. I can take a breath.”

When you do this, you begin to identify as the person for whom this is a given.

And let me tell you… that is EVERYTHING.

It creates a solid foundation from which you can just let go and live, because you are already constantly existing in that place of being the person for whom this so obviously works out. When you identify as that person, you do not need to check, try, or force over and over again to get it.

You are living on autopilot of just freaking getting it instead of spending all your time stressing (and honestly, being kind of repellent to what you want).

EXAMPLE:

When it came to my client, I actually didn’t have to do any work to help her come up with and step into that identity where she got to go to Portugal.

Instead, she said, “Oh, I’m always lucky. I’m so lucky.”

We were able to find other examples of where she’s gotten very lucky – plans coming together at the last minute, much-needed PTO from employers without requesting it, free gifts from strangers, random concerts and trips, the works 🎸🏖️that felt the most real to her, so we were able to go with it + apply it to Portugal. Of course she’ll be able to go to Portugal.

Why wouldn’t she? She’s so lucky!!!

The more you step into this identity around what it is you want, the more it will feel like you don’t need to worry about it.

You’re the perfect recipient for this thing, because YOU ARE THE KIND OF PERSON WHO GETS IT (to a “duh” degree).

You just need to start accepting that you are them!

Years ago, I had a private Human Design reading client (we’ll call her Krista).

When Krista came to me, she’d just left a job she totally hated to pursue her passion of being a freelance photographer and interior designer.

Like anyone who decides to follow their dreams, she was stoked…

… but she still felt trapped in what she felt she “had” to do to succeed.

A few weekends ago, I was at the beach for my friend’s birthday party.

Despite the fact that it rained for a while – in July? Really? I understand that we have a marine layer, but… Get it together, San Diego – it was a pretty great time.

In between diving into the sparkling ocean, scarfing down fish tacos, and beading barbie-themed friendship bracelets for my nieces, I got to chatting with one of my friends there who I hadn’t seen in a few months.

As we were catching up, she mentioned something about me surfing a lot.

“I actually haven’t been surfing as much for the past few months,” I said. “My back wasn’t doing very well.”

“Yeah,” she grimaced, “That kind of stuff happens when you hit 30 🤷🏻‍♀️”

It reminded me of a similar conversation I’d had that week with a guy in my workout class. When I told him that my back had been having issues, he said, “Yep! First signs of you getting old! This is how it starts.”

The problem with that logic…

I’ve been having these pains since I was 23.

Not only that, but my back has only gotten BETTER since I first developed the pain. The worst of it was when I was younger!

Would they have told me it was because I was “old” then?

Probably not – because that’s not what their beliefs tell them.

I love my friend (and the guy at the gym is honestly a really nice person) but this all comes down to the fact that they both have some really limiting beliefs about age.

My friend has been saying she’s getting old since we were 26. She’s also always looked at being 30 years old as being some kind of clearly defined boundary between “young, healthy, resilient,” and “old, creaky, and totally unable to heal in any way.”

Now that she’s a mom, I can’t imagine what other limiting beliefs she’s telling herself about her body based on what she thinks is normal/available to mothers!

What’s even crazier to me is that the guy in my gym class – who is 10+ years older than me, and still in really good shape – apparently had several slipped discs in his back, because got HIT BY A CAR LAST YEAR.

But he’s still in class, making hardly any modifications to the hardcore exercises we do!

It’s just them projecting their own personal stories of lack (which are not necessarily true — just what they believe to be true).

That’s not their fault, really.

It’s just that it’s all someone can do when that’s their perspective.

People don’t tell you the truth. They tell you THEIR truth.

That’s the only thing they really have access to, no matter how confident they sound or how much they can make it seem like it’s really about you.

It’s not about you.

It is always about them.

With no exception.

Everyone’s views on life are subjective. They are formed by our own experiences, opinions, biases, and fears.

This even applies to experts, leaders, and people at that top of their industries. Sure, I’d listen to them more than some Jo/Joe Shmoe when it comes to their forte.

Still, it doesn’t mean their experience of life and the people around them doesn’t deeply affect things.

But beliefs like these don’t apply to me — because I don’t let them.

And I see that play out in my life very clearly.

I straight-up don’t believe that there are specific ages we hit that suddenly determine who we are or what we can/can’t have. I don’t have the story that 30 years old is elderly, or that my body is breaking down at light speed. I don’t tell myself that “well, it’s all downhill from here.” I have never said to myself that I will age out of the dating market as time goes on, or become as unappealing and unimportant as a used snickers bar wrapper as I near the next decade of my life.

As a result —

I am leaner, stronger, and healthier than ever. My back is getting better every day (and faster than ever, thanks to some affirmations I’ve been doing!). I look better than I did 10 years ago, or even 5 years ago – and I’m actually approached/hit on more than ever before! Oftentimes, by guys who are younger than me for some reason (which, thanks guys, but… you gotta be at least 29 to get on this ride lol).

At the same time, I can see where others’ limiting beliefs are still running the show for me.

That’s okay; I’m human. We all are. Each of us deal with this at some point. It’s a process!

But when someone says something like this to me — I now just think to myself the same thing I think when someone tells me something about aging:

“That’s a bummer for them. Not for me.”

Because no hoe (even the ones I love) gets to determine my reality based on their inability to see their own differently.

You can do the same – if you decide to.

When your friends, family, colleagues, acquaintances, former classmates, or cranky neighbor say things like:

• “Pfft. You can’t make money by [doing the thing you want to do].”

• “There are just no jobs out there for people in our industry.”

• “You HAVE to be on social media to get clients!”

• “Losing weight is really hard.”

• “People only want to date people who are [not like you].”

I beg of you…

Don’t outsource your potential and capabilities to them. Even if they are well-meaning. It’s all subjective and made-up anyway, so f it doesn’t support you, it doesn’t serve you.

Bummer for them. Not for you.

Yet, at 38 years old, she and her husband were still trying to make another business work… and it just wasn’t happening for her.

One day in 2002, exhausted and depressed, she heard about a Byron Katie Loving What Is workshop.*

METNIONED: How to “feel the feeling” when you’ve never manifested it before (YT video)

A lot of people don’t like to hear this – but for the right person, it’s going to set you FREE (and, help you get what you want):

The reason your problems keep sticking around isn’t because they’re especially deep, or stubborn, or complicated, or something that takes a long time to resolve.

There actually isn’t any problem that is more “stuck” or “hard to fix.” That’s an illusion.

Sure, it’s crappy and difficult to go through debt, live in a body you don’t like, struggle with your physical or mental health, live in a place you don’t like, or continually get treated poorly by people you date. No one’s arguing it’s not!

But energetically speaking, it’s not actually any different than any other thing we call a problem.

So that’s not it.

It’s because you keep treating it as something that’s really difficult to fix – and that you must first fix before you can have what you want.

That’s why it sticks around.

“How could you say that? This is so difficult for me. You don’t understand.”

“I’ve struggled with this for years. If that were the issue, it would have gone away long ago.”

“But I can’t stop looking at like that – if I stop looking at the problem, it’ll never get solved. Then it’s all my fault!”

I get it 😬

I know you’ve put your blood, sweat, and tears into resolving any issues (or what you think cause them) in order to have a good life. You have worked hard. You have done your best, and you deserve for this problem not to reign supreme over your life.

I see you for that. Truly. I know it has not been or felt easy.

Yet…

It’s really a lot simpler and easier than all that.

Like, waaaaaaaaay simpler and easier.

It’s not your fault you didn’t know. You weren’t taught how to do it this way.

But, people no stronger or more special than you do it all the time – once they know a few basic principles!

So no matter what you’re dealing with or how long you’ve dealt with it…

You can see problems you’ve had for years disappear, without taking forever to do so.

You can release your issues without having to figure it out all on your own.

You can see the changes in your life that you’ve been working day and night for, but still feel so far away from.

And it really, really, REALLY doesn’t have to be so hard.

It just takes a change in perspective – and a little willingness to let it be easy.

I think this is so important, I put a whole module inside ALLOW on exactly how to do it!

In life, we’re usually told that we have two options: (a) do it the easy way, get no results OR (b) do it the hard way, and get what you want.

But what if that’s just... totally made up?

(Spoiler: it is.)

A few nights ago, I was listening to a hypnosis recording. It was about accessing the state of the wish fulfilled.

I’d used this recording many times before, so I knew what to expect. Bring to mind your goal; imagine that it’s already here; let yourself fully feel what it’s really like to have it.

I did it all. I knew exactly what I wanted, and how I wanted to feel while having it. I envisioned myself having the thing, fully enjoying it, and thinking, “This is my norm. This is just who I am.”

As I began to really step into it… I felt a catch.

It wasn’t that I couldn’t “get” there, or couldn’t feel anything. I could. I knew that I was looking for freedom, joy, lightness, safety, EASE – and I could tap into them.

Yet for some reason, even in just my imagination, I wouldn’t just let myself fully be there. It was like there was some kind of exception, some kind of, “Sure, but not quite,” that held me back.

When I began to wonder why…

The answer immediately popped up.

“What if I get this super easily and the people around me get mad – and treat me like I don’t deserve it? And then they try to knock me down?”

Oh. That’s why.

That’s why I sort of shrunk every time I thought about having this thing without struggling for it. That’s why I was circling around this thing but not getting it. That’s why I got kind of a knot in my stomach when imagining myself showing up, with no apologies, and claiming this thing I knew was available to me.

Most importantly, that’s why it wasn’t showing up for me – and definitely didn’t feel easy to get!

It was because I didn’t really think I deserved for it to be easy for me.

I knew enough about energetics/mindset to know that this wasn’t just about the way it came to me.

It was about feeling deserving of the thing, period.

After all, if we don’t think we are worthy of just having something without struggle, that comes down to the simple fact that we don’t really feel worthy of what we want in the first place.

This is probably the biggest reason* people don’t let manifesting what they want be as easy as it can be.

*Actually, to quote a guest on my podcast, the biggest reason is we don’t believe it can be easy – but I think the reason for not letting ourselves believe it can be easy is that we’re afraid we don’t deserve for it to be that way for us.

If you’re anything like me, you were raised to believe that (1) the things you receive don’t “count” unless you worked hard or struggled for them, and (2) you must struggle in order to deserve them in the first place.

So, you spend your life trying to do, be, and work more just to finally get to that magical place where you finally feel like you’re enough in order to have it.

I know that for me, even when I wasn’t actively taking action, I would force myself to think about it all the time – not realizing that I thought I needed to take mental action, too, in order to prove I was worthy of having this thing.

If I didn’t, it wasn’t safe for me to have it.

How would I protect myself from someone who scoffed and treated me like I wasn’t actually worthy of my desire?

(I got a reading from a psychic medium once who told me that my guides were saying I tend to take the harder path, every time. I was like, me? From Just Follow Joy?? Could not! Be! Turns out, it could be. And was 😂)

Most of us subscribe to the NO PAIN, NO GAIN mindset… after all, we’re pummeled with it on the daily. Whether we realize it or not.

But it’s bullshit.

First off, whether we like it or not, manifestation isn’t a meritocracy. The universe doesn’t assign blessings based on some metric of deservingness, goodness, holiness, or whatever you want to call it. I know that we humans like to evaluate and decide whether someone who has something really “should” have it according to who they are or what they’ve done, but… just take a look around. There are loads of people who have something that you don’t think deserve it, and lots of people who you think deserve it that don’t.

And whether that bothers you or not, they have it/don’t have it. That’s just the way it works.

Second, if you don’t really think you deserve something, you are not identifying as the kind of person who gets that thing – which is a problem, because you must exist as if you are the person who has what you want BEFORE it manifests. If you don’t identify as the person who has that thing, you can’t receive it, because you’re not an energetic match to it. Also, your subconscious mind will think the thing is dangerous to your wellbeing, and do whatever it can to block it.

Second, “deservingness” isn’t even a real thing. It’s completely made up; it’s a fabrication; it’s totally subjective. Don’t believe me? Name one standard that EVERYONE in the world can agree on makes you worthy of having [thing you want]. You can’t – because it’s not objective! Not from culture to culture, not from family to family, not even from individual to individual.

This is all to say…

The universe doesn’t have some predetermined standard you must first reach in order to have what you want.

It just responds to what you assume to be true about yourself.

In fact, it IS what you believe to be true about yourself!

YOU are the only one who needs to – and gets to – be the one to say, “I deserve this.”

Because, it really is just up to you! The world is just showing you what you’re already saying about yourself/your experience.

You really can just say that you deserve it, and then it’s TRUE!

When you know that, you also know that you deserve it to be easy… and it becomes that way for you.

Because! Someone who doesn’t doubt their deservingness would not feel that they need to be anything else, for anyone (including themselves) in order to have it.

They’d just open the door and say, “Come on in.”

If other people have a problem with that? That’s exactly what it is: their problem. It comes down to their own limiting beliefs about how the world works that they’re trying to project onto you. But you don’t need to engage with that stuff.

So while they’re angrily gossiping with other unfulfilled persons, or typing away on some subreddit, trying to make their life more meaningful by knocking down people like you who break the rules of their reality…

You get to bask in the glory of having what you want, WHILE getting it in the easiest, awesomest, most fulfilling way possible.

This is exactly why I created ALLOW.

Even though it hasn’t actually been that long, I feel like it’s been forever since I’ve written to you here. I guess it’s that I’ve just been spending most of my time playing pool with my friends while drinking Guinness, watching Mr. Ballen videos, and wrapping up the final bits/pieces of my new course, ALLOW!

I am beyond excited to get this out to all of you. About a year ago, I realized that even though I share a lot of info on how to manifest effortlessly… it was all in bits and pieces. I didn’t have an easy, all-in-one-place kind of thing where people could learn exactly how to do this.

TBH, when I first thought to create a course on this, I was like, “Eh, no one needs another one of those,” 😂…

… but then I noticed that even with all the manifesting courses out there, I still wasn’t seeing any other courses that taught what I wanted people to know most:

In making this course, I’ve really had to look back through the years and ask myself what’s truly worked the best for me in manifesting.

Like, not what sounds good, or like it’s supposed to work – but what truly moves the needle?

Because theory is great. I freaking love theory. I’m constantly diving deep into the “how” of this stuff. Hell, if they offered Informational Scuba Diving certifications, I’d be at my local community pool right now, wearing an air tank and flippers, falling backwards in the deep end with a bunch of recent divorcees and retirees preparing for their December 2026 trip to the Great Barrier Reef.

But theory is not what manifests.

We can spend all day thinking about what “should” work, because it’s “right” (cough cough r/LawOfAssumption), and still not see the results we want.

It’s the practice that actually changes things.

Plus, as a 5/1 heretic-investigator with a butt-ton of trial-and-error energy in my Human Design chart, my job isn’t to learn all this information just to regurgitate it. It’s to test it, challenge it, and then make it practical and usable for my people.

And throughout all that learning, challenging, and testing… I’ve found myself led back to THESE super effective things, over and over again 👇🏼
