Have you heard of something called ‘ranked choice voting?’

Ranked choice voting (RCV) is a convoluted tallying system that asks voters to rank their choices for office rather than simply voting for a single candidate. That may seem simple enough, but this communistic attempt at vote tallying is, of course, much more convoluted than it seems on the surface.

In fact, I don’t even know if I could properly explain it, so I had the Executive Director of the Honest Elections Project - Jason Snead - on my show to try to clarify the issue. His explanation made my jaw drop. Rather than try to summarize, I’ll post the transcript for you and you can also click on the X post below to watch the clip.

Jason Snead:

Well, at bottom, ranked choice voting is a fundamentally different kind of an election….You are no longer choosing one candidate.

We’re gonna ask you to rank many candidates in every single race that is on your ballot. So we’ll give you four, five, sometimes even ten candidates to choose from, and you rank them one, two, three, four, five, on and on, until you either exhaust your options or you are so exhausted that you say, I’m done voting, and you know, you turn in your ballot.

Now along the way, think about what’s happening. First, you’re shifting votes down to second, third, fourth place. And at some point, I think it’s fair to say, you know, a vote for somebody becomes a vote that I don’t really care about either of these or any of these to I actually oppose this person, so I ranked them dead last, right? So a vote doesn’t mean the same thing as you’re going down that that order of preference.

The other thing that happens is if you, as many people do, only rank one person because you don’t want to vote for anybody else, you don’t support anybody else. If that person gets eliminated, your ballot is eliminated as well. And it’s not just deleted from the votes cast for a candidate, it’s deleted

From the total votes cast in the election. So it’s as if you didn’t vote at all.

That is absolutely haunting.

RCV is a distant cousin to our ‘jungle primaries’ here in California. All of it is designed to nullify the clear will of the people and artificially manufacture popularity and electoral mandates. Under RCV, a candidate no one really wanted to end winning and appearing to have won with a roaring mandate. In reality, it would be nothing but a forced accident.

RCV is already being employed in Maine, Hawaii and Alaska. Look up the case of the Dan Sullivan doppelganger in Alaska. It is much more than a dirty trick to confuse the ballot. It is an actual strategy to manipulate the RCV system.

RCV is also creeping into local municipalities across the country, including Oakland, Minneapolis and Portland.

Snead says he joined Honest Elections Project to combat the creep of RCV across the nation and educate voters who may see this pop up in a legislative session near them.

Jackson O’Brien joins a growing growing number of male cheerleaders in the NFL. The New England Patriots and the Minnesota Vikings have also recently onboarded men to their cheer program.

Male cheerleaders aren’t new. My husband was a cheerleader in college. Male cheerleaders are very valuable in the collegiate competitive cheer system. They are the strength. They throw the women around. They lift them. They catch them. They do guy stuff. In fact, my husband will tell you he joined the cheer team because it put him in proximity of the hottest girls. It’s kind of the same reason a lot of guys start a band.

These male cheerleaders aren’t those male cheerleaders. These men are effeminate, flamboyant…gay. They aren’t there to lift, to throw, to be the muscle. They have pom-poms and they perform the same dance moves and choreographies in the same manner as the women. They gyrate, shimmy and pose. They display their fannies (I know I sound like your grandmother right now, but we need to bring back ‘fannies’), and they mug suggestively to the crowds.

These are all the things the female cheerleaders do. There is no delineation between the male and the female bodies in this instance.

A lot of fans are beginning to complain and social media is catching up with the new phenomenon. On one hand, many people say all the complaints are much ado about nothing. No one watches football for the cheerleaders. Most people watching at home aren’t even aware of them. People at the games are there for the sport, not the dancing. It’s not a big deal. Loosen up.

But as a businesswoman myself, I understand the most important question any business owner must ask is, “Who is this for?”. Did the NFL ask that question before they foisted male-acting-like-a-female cheerleaders on their unsuspecting audience.

Who is this for?

We could start to answer this question by asking what the point of an NFL cheerleader is in the first place.

The NFL customer is male. Women love the NFL and they have a huge female fanbase, but the sport is designed for and by men. Would the NFL’s female viewership be as large if no men ever watched the sport? Probably not. Some of you are heading to the comments right now to tell me you’re a woman and would watch it no matter what, so let me clarify - IT WOULD NOT BE AS LARGE. It is the same concept as with bars and night clubs. Men frequent those places because of the women. Bars that are unsafe or unkempt drive women away, which drives the bulk of male customers away (anyone else out there a Bar Rescue fan?). To attract the men (who have the most buying power) you must attract the women. The NFL is similar. To attract the female customers, you must make it palatable to the male customers.

The players feed the healthy aggression and the cheerleaders feed the libido. For women, the cheerleaders are either aspirational or negligible.

Why do we consider these cheer routines ‘effeminate?’ Because they are. That is the entire point. The routines and costumes are designed to accentuate the feminine - the arc of the hips, the round of the rumps, the curves of the breasts…it is all designed to suggest the feminine to the male gaze without being overtly sexualized.

It is the same type of abomination as seeing a gay man don a woman’s dress and display himself as though he’s just killing it when the whole thing looks terrible because it was never meant for his body in the first place. Take, for instance, this photo of Patriots cheerleader Jeremy Greer wearing a shiny women’s formal pant ensemble. Why is it strapless? Because there are supposed to be boobs there to tease the eye. Why do the pants fit so awkwardly? Because there are supposed to be child-bearing hips there to tease the eye. Who is this for?

Are most American football fans drawn to a male form thrusting feminine suggestions at them from a football field? No, of course not - neither men nor women.

You may be screaming by this point, “But Kira…what about GAY men?? They love football too!” Gay men have the players, they don’t need the cheerleaders too. What do lesbians have? All…I guess they have it all.

My point is, no one was asking for this. No one save a few activists embedded within the NFL administrative system.

Who is this for?

Perhaps NFL fans should not dismiss this as just an annoying evolution of professional sports, but rather answer that question.

I’m a former Canadian. I was born to a Canadian mother and an American father, and after spending most of my life in the tiny province of Prince Edward Island, I left at 18 to become an American for good. I’ve never really looked back.

Canada is a beautiful country with a rich history. Canadians are fiercely proud of their military history throughout the world wars, their natural wonders, and, of course, their hockey. At least, they were.

As I was growing up, Canadian patriotism was always undergirded with a simmering hatred for all things American. It was a subtle but constant buzz underneath all that northern pride. Somewhere between my exit and this moment, that buzz became a clanging cymbal. Now, it is the entire Canadian identity…if there even is such a thing anymore.

Immigrants now make up about a quarter of Canada’s population, and that number only includes those who have obtained permanent status. The true number is closer to 50% once you factor in the work/student visas and the illegal aliens. It may even be higher at this point. Legal immigration numbers continue to stand at almost four hundred thousand per year, a staggering amount in a nation of just forty-one million people.

Most of those immigrants are from India and a variety of African nations. The effect has been to create a culture in chaos. There is no Canadian identity anymore. There was barely one when I was growing up, but it was at least still visible and poignant. If I were to ask you what you think the Canadian ‘national identity’ is, what would you say?

Beer?Hockey? Snow? Socialized healthcare?

Right now, you are probably thinking, “Politeness!” There was a time when indeed that was an enduring quality of Canadians, but it can no longer be ascribed to their national identity.

Gary, Indiana, just wrapped up week two with no power, and the left-wing narrative on the extended blackout is (unsurprisingly), “It’s racism!” As someone who lived in Gary for a decade, I can tell you it is anything but that.

Gary made me a conservative. In 1999, I married a man from Gary and moved to his home on the west side. That marked the beginning of a 10-year journey in one of the most dangerous cities in America. I was a default Democrat at the time, like most black Americans. Still, as a Christian woman, I dove into community service right away, helping launch and direct an afterschool program.

There I saw how all the laws and policies I had supported my entire adult life worked up close. I quickly discovered they don’t. I was treated to an endless stream of haughty, entitled bureaucrats who openly despised anyone trying to improve the city on their own. In a city that is almost all black and run exclusively by black people, you’d think I would have found many allies and people excited for progress. It was the exact opposite. Gary was a mess then, and it’s still a mess.

The cries of racism have been the loudest these past few days. Memphis is also experiencing a mass power outage, and Malcolm X impersonator Justin Pearson is using Gary’s current crisis to make a connection to the Memphis blackout:

The post is quite the self-own. Pearson skates near the edges of the truth here, but per usual glides right by the obvious conclusion: Majority-black cities are governed terribly.

Gary is not experiencing storm racism. Gary is experiencing complete incompetence, and the storm laid it bare. There are a few reasons Gary remains in a position of suffering.

First, people literally shot at the power company. NIPSCO (Northwest Indiana’s energy provider) has reported that multiple bullets struck their vehicle as employees tried to navigate the streets of the city and make repairs.

With the Lindsay Clancy strangeness permeating the media right now, the algorithms have begun pushing this trend of exhausted mothers and wives complaining about the emotional load, the family load, the household load…a whole load of loads they feel they’re carrying alone while their husbands do nothing.

It is easy to pin this on ungrateful or unstable women. Goodness knows there is no shortage of those type of women online right now. Obviously, some of it is performative. It takes quite a bit of forethought to do your hair and makeup, set up a camera at just the right angle, hit record and then take your mark all before you begin emoting.

I think this is a multi-pronged issue with several exacerbating factors.

Most young women these days have not been prepared for the duties of wife and mother.

I spoke with children’s rights activist Katy Faust earlier this week and she talked about the dire need for children to see healthy, traditional marriage modeled for them as they grow up.

In the age of no-fault divorce, gay marriage and surrogacy, fewer and fewer Americans are growing up in a nuclear family and developing a sense of healthy marriage roles. Marriage looks different for women than it does for men. Everything does.

In modern America, the feminist movement and the sexual revolution did not prepare women for the reality of a mature, womanly life. Instead, they have slowly baked in the mindset that being uncomfortable, sad or overwhelmed is a symptom of failure rather than simply a quality of a full life. We are only ever supposed to be enjoying ourselves.

You go girl! Girl boss! Thank you, next!

They aren’t coached to absorb what happens when you inevitably discover your life is not just about you, and how that is a good thing. We need only to look at the bizarre and creepy Lindsay Clancy Brigade to see what becomes of a woman who centers herself her entire life. Women and girls need to see authentic family life modeled instead of depending on the influencer moms with the perfect kitchens and high-def cameras.

We sent women into the workplace and called it equality.

There was a time when husbands went to work so their wives could stay home and nurture all the reasons he goes to work in the first place. Now, husbands send their wives to work for someone else’s husband so she can pay for someone else’s wife to look after her own children so she can go to work. Modern American life is expensive, no doubt. But what could you afford if you didn’t pay 75% of your wife’s salary so a stranger could raise your children?

Of course the household load feels unfair to many young working wives. They are filling a role reserved for a husband - paying the family bills - while contending with the constant low-grade buzz of the natural instinct for womanly duties - nurturing, feeding, and organizing the family.

I think in a lot of these complaining TikTok mom cases it is a matter of believing the lie that marriage is a 50/50 endeavor. Marriage is a 100/100 endeavor. Both parties must be giving 100% of what they are designed to give, not 50% of what their partner is supposed to give. We need to renormalize women staying (and/or working remotely) in the home while raising children and downsizing our lifestyles to match the current economic state at any given time.

Women are rewarded for the wrong kinds of struggle and punished for the right kinds of struggle.

If you want to complain about the 250-pound bearded man in a dress crashing your gym locker room, you’ll be punished for that - shamed, threatened and even assaulted at times. If you want to complain about the very normal stress and circumstances of raising a family, you’ll be celebrated, cheered and rewarded with oodles and oodles of social media dopamine. There is a reward for all that crying and screaming in front of a carefully placed camera.

Women need attention because there is a loneliness epidemic.

We are only just now reckoning with the loss of connection during the madness of pandemic regulations. It is a loss exacerbated by the rise of leftist political hatred, pitting family against family, mothers against children, wives against husbands. Many women are voluntarily disconnecting with family over political differences. It is a choice that may seem righteous in the short-term, but over the longterm it effectively eliminates support and relief from the most vital community for any mother/wife…family. A lot of these women are overwhelmed because they are alone, and social media feels like a friend who listens.

The solution to all of this is a return to traditional roles.

We need a renormalization of normalcy. America’s women need our society to shift back to a place where women are fully trained and educated on the joys and fulfillment of domesticity. That doesn’t necessarily involve women giving up paying work. Even our great grandmothers had side hustles to help the family coffers. They did those things from the home, because home was always the priority. Older women are obligated to model what that looks like for younger women, and more of us need to do that.

And we can’t forget about the men.

I believe many young women these days are also burdened with immature partners - men shaped by decades of overmedication, lectures about toxic masculinity, and fatherlessness. They are not prepared to lead. A wife’s cranky nature is often a sign of a leaderless household and that is only ever a man’s fault. What can be laid at the feet of women are their own choices in mate selection. This is, again, a training and mentoring issue.

Also, let’s face it…a lot of these women complaining are not even married to the man they’re complaining about. That is a huge issue in and of itself. The model is twisted from the start and it’s hard to build a solid foundation on that.

In the end, what it all comes down to is modeling. We are not modeling marriage and motherhood in a healthy way anymore. Everything is centered on self and success, which muddies the waters of enjoyment. We will see less and less of the disturbing TikTok mom rage as we normalize the inherent personal discomfort that comes with raising a family.

Nothing worth fighting for is easy, but somehow we’ve decided creating a home and a family is supposed to be.

California regulators on Monday approved new rules that will restrict what tires you can buy when it’s time to replace them on your car.

In a unanimous vote, the California Energy Commission voted to adopt new rules that will phase out the sale of replacement tires that don’t meet certain energy efficiency standards.

At the center of this is a tire’s rolling resistance, or how much energy a tire uses as it rolls down the road. Lower resistance means a vehicle uses less gas or electricity. New cars come with generally efficient tires, but consumers typically replace those with higher rolling resistance tires.

It is yet another exhausting attack on the most basic aspects of life in California - driving. It is another exhausting attack on the taxpayers who keep these officials fat and happy.

And speaking of happy, let’s take a look at the Commissioner of the California Energy Commission (CEC), Nancy Skinner, as she announces this incredible victory over rubber.

Why does she look like that? So smug? So…satisfied?

Look at how she licks her lips and bares her teeth just at the moment Zavala asks about this sneaky regulation that has been lurking in the CEC for over 20 years and why she is the one Commissioner to finally drop the hammer.

Her face reads giddy…and spiteful.

It is the face of COVID Karen. You remember her. She was the flight attendant who screeched at you for not having your mask over your nose. She was the postal employee behind a pane of glass who hollered at you for readjusting your mask while you were at the counter. She was the restaurant manager who demanded your vaccine papers before you could dine. She was the neighbor who raged at you for having family over. She was the stranger in line who spit at you for standing too close - SIX FEET OF SOCIAL DISTANCING!

I’ve talked about the ‘uniform’ of the progressive left at length. There is the rainbow-haired, pierced, overweight soldier class…

…and there is the manager class, as indicated by the Karen glasses of people like the disgraced Cracker Barrel CEO.

Those are the uniforms. Commissioner Karen is showing us the face.

What you are seeing on her grizzled exterior is the soft glow of communism. Much like the ‘vaseline lens’ used in old shows and movies, it is a type of filter that becomes applied when the subject engages in the rituals of oppression.

The soft glow of communism descends from the forehead, it widens the eyes, it crinkles the nose, it forces an otherwise contemptuous mouth into a cruel smile of delight.

The smile is the end of the glow. Any feigned good nature it is meant to imply is lost as her body betrays her and pushes out her tongue in a classic indication that she despises the people she rules over and the people asking questions. It is an involuntary indicator of how she views public service.

She is the boss and the taxpayers are the annoying people who don’t know what is good for them.

That’s another hallmark of the communist glow - the ‘I’m helping you, idiots!’ tint. If you watched the whole clip, you heard Skinner bragging about how the new tire restrictions are for the good of the people. She says if they can bring down the cost of travel even just a tiny bit by regulating tires, that’s a good thing. Notice she said nothing about suspending our highest-in-the-nation gas tax or easing environmental restrictions to help stabilize the prices at the pump.

Commissioner Karen is not an elected official. No taxpayer offered her these powers over their daily commute. No body of voters chose her. Not a single Californian asked for their tire options to be limited or more expense to be added to their commuting costs. No one has appealed to their elected representatives to make this an issue at this time. She is acting completely independent of the will of the taxpayers and she knows it. And it excites her.

The COVID plan-demic was probably the most exciting time in her life, and now Commissioner Karen is reliving her greatest hits.

The soft glow of communism pushing its way from this woman’s wretched pores is actually a death mask. Commissioner Karen hates you and if she can’t make you go away permanently, she will regulate you to death for the crime of being an American.

Find you someone who looks at you the way Commissioner Karen looks at strangling the taxpayers.

I saw this video from a bedraggled mother last week and I haven’t been able to get it out of my mind.

A woman turns the camera on herself while driving. She is weeping hysterically. “I love my kids, but sometimes I don’t like them!” she laments. She goes on to say they don’t pull their weight around the house and give her grief when she asks for help, but they still continue to make their own demands and ask for more and more from her.

The comments are largely supportive…mostly other moms high-fiving and amen-ing and expressing relief to know they are not the only ones who feel like that.

But I didn’t find it relieving at all. I found it sad, and I felt the same about the hundreds of responses. At the risk of sounding insensitive, I want to say this…

If your children are unlikeable, that is your fault.

To appease the ‘what-about’ people, let me state there are some exceptions to this rule. A child consumed by addiction or mental illness may indeed be unlikeable all by themselves. Those are invasions of personality and family that are often outside the control of any parent.

However, there are many things within the control of a parent, and respect is one of those things.

Don’t get me wrong, my kids get on my nerves with their stubbornness from time to time as well. What parent hasn’t felt the rage that bubbles up when you ask your kid to take out the trash and they sigh heavily or otherwise throw an attitude about it? Kids are kids and they do kid things. That is a very different thing than having to admit you don’t actually like your children because they are chronically disrespectful.

That didn’t happen in a vacuum.

I feel for this mother, I really do. I believe her when she says she loves her children but doesn’t really like them. I’ve met many parents like her.

Our children don’t become disrespectful assholes all on their own. It actually requires a lot of effort to raise a disrespectful child. It requires an ongoing series of bad personal decisions by parents. It requires a lack of consequence, over and over again, until said child inherently knows their actions toward their parents pose absolutely no threat to themselves. It takes a conscious abdication of parental authority and a consistent refusal to heed the good advice or counsel of others who have seen the predicament and tried to lend a hand.

When I first became a mother, I remember telling my husband I didn’t want to raise children people couldn’t enjoy. I come from a fractured family and our circle of ‘help’ was small. I understood I would eventually depend - at one point or another - on a friend or community member to help with my children. I might need a babysitter or a quick overnight visit. I might need someone to pick up my child from school if I had an emergency. I did not want to be the mother of children who were so disrespectful and unruly no adult would want to be with them. I did not want to be exhausted with those children. I did not want to spend parenthood in survival mode. I understood instinctively the work started right from the beginning.

In our home, there were rules and boundaries. Those things were never comfortable to enforce. We pushed ourselves to remain steady because we had already decided on an outcome - respect. Respect for us, respect for our family home, and respect for their surrounding community. By being deliberate about the outcome, we created a guide for our family as it grew…a set of tracks.

Listening to this mother, my heart broke for her, but my brain was asking a lot of questions.

What are the rules in your home and what have they been from the start?

What are your discipline standards/tactics and are they consistent?

Why have you allowed your children to grow into disrespect? Why didn’t you nip it in the beginning?

How many excuses have you made for the behavior of your children both in public and private over the years?

Where is dad?

I can assume there is no father here just by hearing her weep. I would never have to weep like that in my car, just to be heard. That is an issue I would lay directly at the feet of my husband. Sometimes, even in the most respectful of homes, only a father’s words (and belt) can snap a wayward child back to reality.

That is probably the crux of the issue, but I’m obviously making an assumption. I’m making a lot of assumptions, actually. Welcome to the internet.

The number of women who responded with some version of, “Same here!” tells me this is a huge problem for America. I can’t help but think about the never-ending loop of social media videos showing ‘teen takeovers’ and gangs of teenagers defiling business and residences. We’re always asking, “Where are the parents???”

Perhaps they are here, in this car with this mother. Perhaps they are her.

Perhaps those parents are at home, vaguely wondering where their child might be at 10 o’clock at night, but quietly relieved that child is not at home causing trouble. Perhaps they are weeping too, feeling guilty for not liking their children, and angry their children didn’t automatically grow up to be loving and helpful human beings. Perhaps they are blaming everyone but themselves. There seems to be a lot of that going around these days.

I want to be clear, the woman in this video didn’t place the blame anywhere. She was letting off some steam and I get that. She has the right. If I could speak directly to her, I would advise her to start asking about the “blame” part…who is to blame here? Is it the children who depend on adults to set the right boundaries and expectations? Is it a father who didn’t bother to stick around? Is it you?

It is truly a terrible curse to dislike your own children, and too many modern parents don’t like their own children. Maybe because they feel it is their job to occupy their children at every moment, and that is exhausting. Too many parents see themselves as entertainment directors, making sure their children never get bored.

That is yet another way to raise disrespectful children. When your life as a parent becomes one of servitude rather than service, you will eventually be viewed by your own children as a servant rather than a guide. They will not want to be like you and they will not like you…and they will treat you accordingly.

Raising children alone is a challenge and I understand that. You have the higher climb, because you have no partner to rest on when things get tiring. This is why it is of vital importance to not grow weary as you shape them.

If you want to like your children, you must raise children you can like. That involves making the hard choices - hearing their tears, tolerating their wrath. It involves a willingness to be disliked now so you can be loved later for your sacrifice.

I think a lot of parents like this aren’t sacrificing the right things. They’re sacrificing money, savings, personal peace…they’re sacrificing a lot to provide material desires without understanding the real thing they are sacrificing, which is respect.

I don’t know what the answer is for this woman, but if you are young and reading this, hear me now. Start early. Start disciplining young. Start listening to mentors as you enter parenthood, not in the middle of it. Look at families with adult children you admire, and ask about their lives. Ask how they modeled their own families and see what you might incorporate into your own unique family.

Respect is earned - we’re all familiar with the cliche. What few people tell you is that respect is accumulative when it comes to your children.

Like vaccine mandates straight from the mouth of Fauci (never happened!). Like the teachers unions advocating to keep schools closed during COVID (never happened!). Like the entire mainstream media whiffing on the story of the century about a mentally incapacitated President and his shadow government (never happened!).

But I will never be able to memory-hole the image of Governor Healey signing a bill legalizing the murder of babies up until the moment before they are born. I will never be able to erase the wicked smiles of the sea of women behind her. I will never forget how they clapped for the murder of innocents.

How they cheered.

It is the ultimate betrayal - the very vessels of life, women, joyfully celebrating the destruction of life. It is a betrayal of our sex and our function in this world. My thesaurus is running out of words to describe this level of perversion.

This is evil.

Many have pointed to the blond woman standing behind the Governor. She seems particularly exuberant. Inappropriately so, even for a crowd like this. She carries the look I would imagine a demon giving right before it devours the flesh of its prey. It is unrighteous joy, depraved excitement…she is salivating. Like a demon.

The internet did its due diligence and we now know who she is. You can read this Facebook post from a feminist page to get the shocking details of this woman’s “struggle.” I’ll warn you now, the comments are disturbing. One X account summarized Dineen’s depravity well:

This is Kate Dineen, President and CEO of A Better City in Massachusetts, she gave her aborted baby the middle name “Lee” to honor the doctor who killed him.

She helped push the late-term abortion bill that the Massachusetts governor signed yesterday.

At 33 weeks, she and her husband drove to Maryland so late-term abortionist LeRoy “Lee” Carhart could inject potassium chloride straight into their son’s heart and stop it.

Painful for the unborn baby.

Why?

A neurologist told her the baby had a catastrophic stroke and might end up with serious disabilities.

Those claims could only be fully checked after he was born.

Instead of waiting for his birth, they aborted him.

She turned the abortion of her own viable son into a political talking point and used it to change the law.

This is beyond fkn evil.

I echo this poster’s sentiments. This is fu**ing evil.

We pride ourselves in our constant refrain and appeal of “God Bless America,” but how can we expect Him to bless this? How can we expect a holy and righteous Lord to bless a nation that allows this? As long as this evil is allowed to breathe (unlike the babies it murders, who will never breathe our air) we are in grave danger of Judgement.

Abortion is a lie straight from the pit of hell, designed to separate us from our unique creation and the ability to multiply that creation. It is designed to trick us into voluntarily sacrificing our own offspring to corrupted gods we cannot see or interact with. It is designed to make us betray ourselves while calling it ‘medical care.’

Until this moment, I have not advocated for a national abortion ban. I felt the Supreme Court did the right thing by invalidating Roe v. Wade and sending the issue back to the states. But murder is murder, and anywhere it is sanctioned by a state it is also sanctioned by the nation.

One nation, under GOD.

We are facing extraordinary threats to our country and our humanity - Islam, communism, migrant invasions and the theft of citizen labor required to support them…the list is long. It will require all our good efforts, all our humanity, and a mighty God to repel these enemies. If we want to preserve America for the next generations, we must turn back to God IMMEDIATELY. The enemy is requiring the sacrifice of our own children. We must flip that notion on its head and make our sacrifices to God. We must sacrifice political expediency and public popularity. We must sacrifice ego. We must sacrifice the twisted desire to be accepted by those who insist on saturating our population with evil.

We need God on our side to win the war ahead, but how can a just God bless us and lead us if we are murdering babies and cheering about it?

The law must reflect our commitment to a prosperous future.

It’s time to ban abortion in this country, everywhere.

The women in this video have marked themselves for judgement, and it is best not to be caught standing too close to them. They are human traitors, and the Lord is very explicit in the Word as to how we are to treat traitors to humanity. They must be expelled to the outer reaches of our society, to the deserts where their thirsts will rule over them. We cannot allow this evil in our midst, or we will all die for it.

Women are able to engage in every part of civic and public life - military, law enforcement, leadership, corporate headship, etc. Even the world of professional sports has opened up to women in a new and exciting way over the past couple of decades. Women have more access to career and income than ever before.

Even still, with all these advancements, we are treated to a nonstop litany from progressives about the hardships of their sex, race or ethnicity. The drumbeat is always the same - we don’t have what other people have and it’s not fair.

Case in point - WNBA star Angel Reese. Reese recently received one of the highest honors my 8-year-old self could have ever imagined - Mattel has released an Angel Reese Barbie doll. In a press conference where she was asked about it, Reese explained it was a special moment for her. She said when she was growing up, she didn’t have access to dolls and toys that looked like her.

Reese was born in 2008. Not 1950. Not 1970. 2008.

Jeanine John Taele, 38, a resident of the Los Angeles-area city of Downey, was arrested Sunday at the course in Rancho Palos Verdes, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.

The sheriff’s department said deputies found a loaded magazine with hollow-point bullets in Taele’s pants pocket after they’d been contacted by plainclothes federal agents regarding a suspicious person at 3:28 p.m. Sunday.

“The individual was observed walking throughout the golf course grounds taking photographs and videos and appearing to monitor security-planning activities,” the sheriff’s department said in a statement.

Just days before the arrest, the Orange County Fair was thrust into the news for displaying a disconcerting photo (for their art fair) that seemed to threaten President Trump with death.

The photo, titled “The Young Fight” by Alexander Nguyen, pictures a family attending a “No Kings” protest in Torrance, CA. One member is holding a sign that reads “Happy Last Birthday” alongside a caricature of Donald Trump. It also included a child holding a pride flag.

Is it a coincidence that the OC Fair displays a pro-assassination photo and days later a man is arrested in California for an assassination attempt on the President?

Orange County Republican Party Chairman Will O’Neill immediately sent a letter to OC Fair organizers following the revelation of the photo. O’Neill warned against public institutions ‘normalizing’ threats of death and violence against political figures, noting that several of the OC Fair Board members are elected officials themselves.

Public institutions should exercise extraordinary caution before displaying imagery that can reasonably be interpreted as normalizing or trivializing rhetoric surrounding the death or elimination of political figures. Given that the Fair Board has multiple elected officials – including a Trustee of the Newport-Mesa Unified School District (Michelle Murphy) – they clearly know better.

The county Chairman also pointed out this was the first year in a decade the Republican Party of Orange County has been denied a booth space to engage with voters.

Another coincidence?

Residents and attendees are encouraged to contact the OC Fair Board of Directors to voice their concerns.

There is a controversy brewing in women’s professional basketball.

Some bigoted, weak women are insisting on gatekeeping the WNBA. Against whom?

Biological men.

Sophie Cunningham may be one of the most talented and tenacious players in the league, and she may have brought an unprecedented amount of attention to the WNBA, but she’s shown her true colors by insisting on the W part of the WNBA. I mean, what kind of woman does that? Doesn’t she know men are women too?

When she was called out on it, she just doubled down.

HATE HAS NO HOME HERE, SOPHIE! Not in the WNBA. Unless you’re going to hate Caitlin Clark…or the national anthem…or your fans. But otherwise, IT HAS NO HOME HERE.

A few brave WNBA coaches have weighed in, taking the courageous stance to support men on their courts and in their locker rooms. After all, no one in the WNBA is a rocket science biologist. It’s not their call to make. Obviously.

Obviously, a man who says he is a woman automatically BECOMES A WOMAN. Obviously his…sorry, her…obviously her bone and muscle mass decreases immediately, hormones disappear and so does the past. Whatever advantages her male body has had over its decades of use are null and void once you put on a headband and lipstick. What are these WNBA snowflakes so worried about? If they can’t compete, why are they even in a professional women’s league?

Let the men play. Throw open the doors. There are countless players who have been denied the opportunity to play professional basketball because they have been locked…TRAPPED…in the binary of sex. Forced to compete with the men they no longer identify with, their female identities are often weaker and less talented and that isn’t fair. They should be allowed to take their weaknesses and their competitive failures to the women’s league.

Here’s a great example.

In fact, why shouldn’t the entire WNBA be made up of transgender players? What’s the difference, am I right? Sophie Cunningham and her TERF ilk are just a bunch of petty whiners. They’re probably just not good enough to compete against real women.

If the WNBA wants to survive they must reject the bigotry of these jealous, petty biological women and embrace more biological men. If they can’t make the team, they just need to work harder.

Viva la TWNBA! Bring on the men…all of them.

Should we open up the coaching positions as well?

At a recent conference, California gubernatorial candidate Xavier Becerra said something weird and a little cruel.

“All I know is there’s real food in California and there’s real street tacos and you don’t get them in some establishment that’s been around for a long time,” he said. “You get it from the street from the guy who’s been making it for a long time in his little cart.”

Imagine running for Governor of the ‘4th largest economy in the world’ and telling your voters to patronize illegal street vendors over California small business owners, a.k.a. the engine of our entire state. Screw those losers. Their food is bland.

That’s what Becerra did, and yet we are supposed to take him seriously as a candidate.

He has other concerning issues, of course…

Where are the children, Xavier?

But his statement stuck in my craw and I can’t seem to let it go. Becerra is campaigning on the back of Gavin Newsom’s one and only bragging point - our economy - and simultaneously campaigning against the people who provide that bragging point for California…the taxpayers.

But this is the Democrat plan for California in general. It is a concerted effort to lower expectations, kill private business and private property, and unleash chaos on a population that is overwhelmed and unconsidered. As I’ve said many times before, the misery is the point.

A miserable population is a controllable population.

Why do I remember it? I was a child when I saw it. But some of the images were haunting in a way I cannot describe. For over 30 years - THIRTY YEARS - I have thought of this scene...the migrants slowly moving into quaint British towns, peering through windows at unsuspecting families, invading homes, demanding what those fat, rich Westerners have. When I tell you not a week goes by where I haven't thought of it, I mean it.

Not. One. Week.

Watching those Muslim men pouring into Cueta brought it to mind, although I had no idea what it was called. The magic of modern AI led me back to it and I have chills watching this again. Listen to the tv host as he says, "It's a publicly stated attempt to come into our streets, our homes, and shame us into helping them. Or, as they say...WATCH US DIE."

They always tell you what their intentions are. They always tell you what they're going to do. And look at the studio audience in this film. Completely white. Is there anywhere in the UK you can see that anymore? From 1990 to today...that's how long it took to bring the magic of the movies to life. But it's here now.

Yes, they always tell you. In 1990 I would have been 15 years old. 15yo me was hardly conservative. Still, this scene in particular stuck with me and has been locked away in my brain since that moment. Frankly, it's almost a relief to spill it out onto the page finally. I think this flag planted in 15yo me because that little girl was way more intuitive then I've ever given her credit for. 15yo me knew there was something ominous in the presentation, and she filed it away for a time when she wasn't completely submerged in a socialist household. 15yo me saw something dastardly, a warning. I couldn't articulate that at the time. I probably even felt an affinity for the migrants at the time. And yet, this scene has never left me.

Today, I understand. Today I finally see. This was a projection...an announcement. 36 years...

These globalists are patient. They don't mind moving slowly. They've been executing the reality of this film for that long, and now they have arrived. A full scale invasion, much like the premise of this film.

They always tell you.

We need to recognize the long game, and understand that the incremental changes are not to be ignored. They are part of the plan. It may be too late for Spain, for Europe. They did not heed the warnings given by the globalist elites themselves. They are overwhelmed and disarmed.

America: I believe the Lord tattooed my heart with that movie and this scene for this very day - for me to tell you - THIS IS US. WE ARE NEXT. The invasion is coming and it will look exactly as they planned and exactly as they told us.

We have already experienced a bit of this during Biden, but that was a fraction of what is to come. Heed these warnings. It is time to close ranks and protect what is ours. They have already announced themselves. We can no longer be so foolish as to believe they didn't really mean it.

Cracker Barrel CEO Julie Masino has resigned after her disastrous modern ‘rebrand’ of the country-kitsch family restaurant.

As a refresher, the longtime family-style dining franchise launched a rebrand no one asked for last year, and it immediately crashed and burned. Gone was all the character, kitsch and country. It was replaced with modern fonts, clean lines and sterile features.

It’s odd and soul-sucking and it makes one wonder…why?

Why on earth is this the aesthetic and DOUBLE WHY did Cracker Barrel think it was time to change their perfectly fine brand to a sterile echo of millennial decor?

Two words, one picture. Julie. Masino.

What is it with white liberal women and these glasses?

I’ve said it about the weird Antifa looks - blue hair, septum rings, bad skin - and I’ll say it now. This is a uniform.

The reason all the worst (public-facing) women look like this is because it’s a uniform. The colorful hair and the nose rings are the rioter-class uniform. The blond corporate cut and the oversized black, square glasses are the manager-class uniform. Same army, different ranks.

I can’t speak to what specifically it is about those particular glasses, but for whatever reason they have come to signify intellectual and creative barrenness. They say something.

Perhaps:

I’m a professional.

I’m serious but on-trend.

I have all my COVID boosters and few extra for good luck.

I know all the rules and I am dedicated to making sure everyone follows the same rules without question because not following the rules makes you SPECIAL and DIFFERENT and those things create inequality.

We have a ‘Karen haircut,’ but these are the accessory…the Karen glasses.

It is the unavoidable uniform of the indoctrinated. They don’t even know they’re doing it, but it is a sign of their robotic cultural reflexes and lack of critical thinking skills.

Seriously, look at her picture again, and others like her. What does she look like?

A manager.

This is manager Karen and she knows what you want even when you tell her you don’t want it and then prove it by not buying or participating in what she says you really want. This is the Karen who gave you Dylan Mulvaney, drag queen Guinness, boys in your daughter’s school bathroom, plastic straw and bag bans, etc. She is the hall monitor of adult life.

If she looks like a manager it is because the uniform is a manager’s uniform.

The manager class has invaded corporate America and they have no distinctiveness, no creativity, no vibrancy, and no humanity. They only have rules - for design aesthetics, food service, government and YOU. If the solution is not listed on the clipboard, it doesn’t exist.

Clipboard Karen thought the Cracker Barrel rebrand was going to be celebrated because it erased all the messy, cluttered cheesiness. She imagined the dolts that patronize the restaurant just didn’t understand design, and that they’d be thrilled once the changes took place…that they’d walk into a franchise and look around in awe and say, “Wow! It’s so much cleaner and more orderly! I love all the gray!”

Clipboard Karen and the rest of the manager class didn’t get it because they don’t get America. I wonder if they even get the point of life. Life is messy. Life is full. Life spills out onto walls and counters. It collects nostalgia. It hangs pictures and walks on well-worn floors. Clipboard Karen thinks we want life to be sleek and uncomplicated.

Americans feel otherwise. Sleek is too slick and uncomplicated is for babies.

We build things and break things and we keep things to remember it all along the way. Our nostalgia is our connection to our success. Clipboard Karen hates nostalgia because she hates our past.

This particular Karen seemed to have a decent take on the whole thing. She did go on to admit it was a poor decision, and she regretted it. And now, of course, she is no longer in that position. That is the right thing to do. She seems like a smart and capable Manager. Perhaps her skillset is a better fit for the stores the upper echelon of the Manhattan set frequent.

I hope Masino has learned a lesson about her industry, but even more so I hope she has learned a lesson about America.

I live in Ladera Ranch. That is the “wealthy” suburb (I find that constant descriptor hilariously unnecessary) that is the subject of this mysterious cancer cluster that has found its way to the national news.

This issue is not new. In fact, parents have been complaining about it for years as their children (and pets) have suffered these strange cancers in what should be one of the healthiest communities in California.

Sugar is an enemy here. We bring orange slices and organic juice to our soccer practices. We educate our children on sunscreens, hydration and healthy lifestyle choices. We are a sports community - everyone plays something at some time. You’d be shocked to know how many Olympic athletes were born and raised here- we produce a lot. We have parks everywhere, and our children are extremely active in those parks and playgrounds. We keep them clean and orderly for just that purpose. We love our farmer’s markets and our essential oils and other organic products. Vaccine-hesitancy is the norm. Parents are constantly exchanging tips and recommendations for healthy foods, products and activities.

All that to say - it makes absolutely no sense that this community’s HOA still uses harsh pesticides that almost every other suburb in southern California has banned.

We don’t know if it is the pesticides causing the cancer cluster, but with so many unknowns it only makes sense to shutter the current program and find some alternatives while we investigate the connections.

When it comes to children, ‘Better safe than sorry’ is the primary directive.

There should be an immediate cessation. It should be easy. In a normal world, it would be. The stuff we spray on our lawns might be making us sick? Fine. Simply…stop.

But in the land of big government - California - nothing is simple, and nothing from the government stops.

What should be a very simple matter of someone in charge saying, ‘No, let’s not use that, let’s use this instead while we investigate’ is instead a bloody gauntlet of red tape, runarounds and blame shifting.

The HOA says they are a volunteer board and this is an issue that should probably be addressed by the county (Ladera Ranch is unincorporated). The county says this should be addressed by the state. The state says this should be addressed by the county. The county says they are appealing to the state, and round and round we go, where we stop, nobody knows.

No, seriously. Nobody seems to know where the buck stops.

Two things come to mind as we trudge through the bureaucratic hellscape:

1.Your local government is your most important government. Voter turnout for local offices can sometimes be as low at 10% in some parts of California. I’m willing to bet it’s like that almost everywhere. This means a tiny sliver of people are picking your county board members, your local water and resources managers, and even your HOA boards.

Americans of all stripes have complete meltdowns every presidential election season, but very few know anything about who is running the government right next to them…who is running their neighborhoods. Start paying attention to the local offices and stop making fun of people who run for them. They are not nerds and dorks. They are mostly people who want their towns and cities to run a certain way. You should know what way that is before you hand over the keys to your life and livelihood.

Donald Trump didn’t close your schools and Barack Obama didn’t raise your property taxes. Your local government did that. And while our HOA isn’t a government body, it does have elections. I, for one, am guilty of not paying much attention to them in the past, but I have certainly learned a lesson. I hope we all have, and I hope we apply it.

2.Ladera Ranch is unincorporated. This means we have no governing body to appeal to. We must depend on our state representatives (Thank you, Assemblywoman Kate Sanchez!), county board representatives (boo, Katrina Foley!) and the HOA to resolve or refer issues of governance. Right now, that mostly looks like this:

The good news is, we do have an established community council. The Ladera Ranch Civic Council meets the 3rd Tuesday of every other month.

The Ladera Ranch Civic Council (LRCC) was created in 2009 following the 2007/2008 protest of the placement of a 47-megawatt electrical peaker plant in the community. A group of Ladera Ranch residents united to challenge and ultimately defeat SDG&E’s intention for the substation, defending the interests of the residents and advocating for the greater good of Ladera Ranch.

The LRCC is a nonprofit, private, 501(c)(4), organization that exists to protect, preserve, and promote this beautiful community. The council has no legal authority. It is a volunteer, nonpartisan organization with no agenda other than to help shepherd the maturation of the community.

​We lobby for our residents around topics such as land use and planning and research issues that affect our community like public safety. We advise our District Supervisor at the Orange County Board of Supervisors. We exist to ensure that our community remains an exceptional place to call home.

The LRCC has recommended incorporating Ladera Ranch over the years, and my sources tell me the HOA has been less than cooperative in that effort. You can draw your own conclusions about that but if it’s true, the HOA is actively resisting local efforts to incorporate and yet is unwilling to act with any responsibility when we have a deadly health crisis in our community.

So, what are we supposed to do? Perhaps it is time to revisit the talk of incorporating. I’m not suggesting it’s a solution, but it at least deserves a discussion.

In the meantime, while the LRCC has no official governing powers, they are still a great forum for residents to be heard and mobilized. LRCC is currently working with neighborhood health watch groups to monitor this issue, so it’s a great idea to show up to their next meeting, which will be September 15th. They usually meet at one of our community clubhouses but check the site or IG account lrciviccouncil to stay updated. They may move to a location with a higher capacity.

The conclusion in this case is the same conclusion I reached during COVID, when I decided to run for our school board and our kids…we’re not paying attention.

I’m guilty. A lot of people are guilty. A few people have been keeping the watch, and we owe them our efforts.

Start asking questions of the people who are running for things, and if you don’t like the answers, don’t vote for them. Better yet, vote for the people who care about the things you care about, not just the Presidents you care about.

Republican commentator and Fox News host Guy Benson has just welcomed another baby into his fold via surrogate.

Congratulations abound and he and his partner seem absolutely delighted. I have known Guy casually for over a decade and have worked with him on occasion. He is kind, smart and a really nice man.

So, it’s hard to see the conservative chat-osphere make him into a controversy with his latest surrogate delivery. The Guy I know (and we are only acquainted, not close friends) is a really decent man and someone you’d enjoy hanging out with. It saddens me to see what is clearly an exciting time for him being adjudicated harshly online.

And it saddens me even more to have to say…it doesn’t matter.

*We said goodbye to my mother-in-law this past weekend. It was our second, and final goodbye. Faith Davis was a queen deserving of TWO goodbyes, in two states. I had the honor of delivering her eulogy at both. She was the best woman I’ve ever known, and she made me a better woman by simply letting me stand in light she cast. I asked my father-in-law if I could publish her eulogy and he agreed. I want it to live online somewhere, where people can find it if they want to, and as a lasting testament to the amazing wife, mother and woman of God she was. I hope you get to know her a bit through this, and I hope, in some way, you are moved to love better and be better even through this weak reflection of her. Goodbye, Mom. I’ll see you there.

I was at a conference this week and I had the opportunity to meet a couple of young men who started a health and wellness company. They were in their 20s, intelligent, enthusiastic and motivated. They were offering a presentation to teachers on promoting good health as a part of good learning. I was deeply impressed with them, and when we parted ways I said to one of the young men, “Your parents must be so proud of you.” And he smiled hesitantly. His eyes got wide and he stuttered a bit. “Sure,” he said, apprehensively. I got the sense he did not think his parents were proud, for whatever reason. We certainly didn’t have the time to hash that out. But I took his meaning, and before I could stop myself I reached out to squeeze his arm. “Well, I’m proud of you son,” I said. “You are doing very well for yourself, so congratulations.”

As we parted ways, I realized that was not me speaking to him. That was mom.

That’s who she was and that’s what she would have done. She would have poured her heart all over him.

Faith Davis was the living embodiment of encouragement. Everyone here in this room has a story about feeling encouraged by her. I’ve heard the stories often over the years, and more so since she left us. It is the overarching theme of her life.

Faith was an encourager. She loved.

I asked my husband what was one thing he loved most about this mother. He said, “She was always excited to see me, and she was always excited to hear about my life.” That is a wonderful and perhaps common thing for a son to say. Good mothers are always excited for their children. But it was not a quality exclusive to her own children.

Encouragement was mom’s gift, and you could see it on display every day in her job as a teacher and principal at Spirit of God Accelerated Education (K-8). Everyday, the children who crossed the threshold of her school doors were greeted with that signature Faith Davis smile. I can hear her voice amidst the hustle and bustle of the morning background noise. “Good morning young man. Good morning young lady. Moms, don’t carry the backpacks. We teach our children to carry their own responsibilities!”

Mom’s vision for children was inspired, and wholesome, and rooted in her calling to serve Christ. She taught me that every child is a gift and there are no bad children. Only naughty children. For her, every child was worthy of love, grace and attention. She talked a big game, but disciplining kids was her least favorite part of the job. But, like a good and worthy servant, she understood that discipline was a part of love, and she offered it with the type of grace that only endeared her students to her. Every student felt loved by Mrs. Davis, because Mrs. Davis genuinely loved every student. When the school closed, I know it broke her heart. It was a life passion for her. But the truth is, the difference she made in the lives of hundreds, maybe thousands of students over the years is immeasurable. She quite literally, I feel confident in saying, changed the trajectory of some children’s lives.

Love was more than a feeling for her. It was a vocation.

Her teaching was not limited to the classroom. Mom was always teaching others. She taught me to see the joy in children, in community and in family. She taught me everything I know about being a wife and a mother. She taught others about grace and forgiveness. She was the first teacher for her own children, and their best teacher.

She didn’t have a perfect origin story, a perfect family, a perfect path to her ultimate vocation. But she was smart…smarter than I think many people gave her credit for. She had a sharp mind and a willing spirit, and those two things in combination made for an incredible learning curve. She did not live without failure, but she had the intelligence and the faith learn every lesson. She had the creativity to impart those lessons to others. She was never selfish with her knowledge or advice. Nor was she judgmental.

She loved.

And she was safe. Many of us in this room know the feeling of being unsafe in the presence of another person. Many of us grew up in families where we did not feel safe, physically or emotionally. Many of you in this room right now didn’t even know what ‘parental safety’ felt like or looked like until you met Faith Davis. Her presence always felt like a relief. If no one in the room was on your side, Faith Davis was. If no one would encourage you, Faith Davis would. If no one believed in you, faith Davis did. If you were blessed enough to stand in the splash zone of her radiating warmth, it changed you. You felt different around Mom. And you acted different too.

That’s true power, my friends. That is the power of love, a direct reflection of the Father’s love, weakened by human hosts, but still bright and warm and overwhelmingly comforting when coming from Mom.

Because she loved.

She loved meeting new people, hearing their stories, and learning from them. She loved a good story. Story tellers were her favorite. That’s perhaps why we got along so well. When something happened in our family, she would often say, “Kira, you tell the story! Mark leaves out too many details!” She delighted in delightful people, and found things to delight in when faced with not so delightful people. That is also a gift, and one I have taken from her and covet to this day.

As hard as she loved her students, her love for her own children and their children and her entire family eclipsed that love by miles, centuries, light years. When I saw the joy with which she greeted her own children and grandchildren, and the pride that radiated from her whenever they were around, I realized what a mother’s heart really looks like. It is not moved by circumstance or personal desire. It is not conditional. It is just as God lays it out for us in His word.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it

is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it

is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does

not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects,

always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

No one would cheer you on like mom. No one would honor your efforts like mom. And as stupid as we all have been in this family from time to time, she never held a grudge or pushed us away or made us feel like we were disappointments or traitors to our family legacy.

The natural mother is always filled with pride for her pride of cubs, always forgiving, always honorable, always rejoices, always protects, always hopes for her family and always perseveres in her service to them. In the esteem and love of Faith Davis, you were always safe.

She loved.

As a daughter in law, someone who just appeared in this family, she only ever welcomed me, encouraged me, and she trusted me. That trust helped me to grow from a girl to a woman, a citizen to a wife. Before Mark and I were engaged, I visited him in Gary. There was a family cookout and she asked me to run to the store with her. Just the two of us. In the car, she suddenly blurted out, “I’m just waiting on my son to get married and give me more grandchildren!” And then she looked at me, that sweet, beautiful smile stretched across her face. Her eyes were kind. There was no snappiness or animus. Only hope - I hope you will be good to my son. I hope you are serious about him. I hope you are serious about the future because the Davis family has a legacy. She was vetting me for that legacy. We were engaged a few weeks later, so she got what she wanted.

But what SHE wanted wasn’t really for her, it was for her son. Because even as she was still grieving the loss of her two eldest sons, her priority was her remaining son’s happiness. She just wanted to know HE would be ok. Not herself. Him.

There is no greater love than a mother’s love, and Faith Davis was so great at that.

She loved.

She showed me that one need not be an actual birth mother to bestow that love on others. The love she showed her students, and the families and children of her church, whom her husband shepherded for decades, and for her community, made me fall in love with all those people too.

And I went into community service. I served children. I educated children. I became obsessed with encouraging and guiding the children of our community. That was because of her; because she made it seem so good and so righteous. In fact, that conference I was at where I met the young man? It was an education conference. Now, one of my missions is to support the proper and righteous education of our children and the people who teach them. Thanks to mom.

Because she loved.

That’s another quality of mom’s. She inspired you to care. And to encourage. That was her gifting and she used it liberally, and the degree of mourning so many have been thrust into is a testimony to the impact that gift had on those around her. If you knew Faith, she inspired you. If you knew Faith, she made you want to be better. To know Faith was, indeed, to love her, because she made you believe you could and SHOULD love yourself.

She loved.

And that’s another thing Mom taught me. Service - to your job, your family and our God. To be a wife and mother is to be a servant and that’s not always glamourous. In fact, it rarely is, but she did it with so much joy, even while nursing the worst grief. The loss of her sons did not drive her away from love, but drew her closer to it, and I’m so glad for that.

She never once made me feel like an outsider in this family. She immediately embraced me as a daughter, and what a gift for a new wife…to be embraced but not only that, mentored.

When I married, we lived just down the street from her and Dad. She told me, “You’re a wife now. This is no longer my son. He is your husband and I’m going to honor that. I’ll never just drop by, I’ll never insert myself into your business unless you ask, I want you to know I respect your home now, and your marriage. I’m giving you my son and he’s not mine any longer.”

Being married to a Davis man is a singular experience. There is something magnetic and big about our men, and society responds to that. It’s a very unique position and over the years, we bonded over our shared status as Mrs.Davis. Every Mothers Day I would call her, or she would call me, and we would say “Happy Mothers Day Mrs. Davis! Happy mothers day to you too, Mrs.Davis!”

Now I’m the only Mrs.Davis in this wing of the family, but my fervent hope and prayer is that one day I too will have a daughter-in-law to embrace, to welcome, and to call and say “Happy Mothers day Mrs.Davis”. I hope, so very much, that God will bless me with the love and acceptance Mom had. I hope one day, a woman will look at me, and see Faith looking back, ready to love her and encourage her and guide her.

And I want to say that Mom’s love is on full display right here in this front row [today]. This is her life’s work. Her love was so influential, she created a daughter who went into the very business of caring for others. From nursing to beauty care, Cherry has made care her vocation and that’s a direct testament to her mother. And I want to thank you, Cherry, for loving your mother, our mother, and taking such good care of her to the end. She was proud of you and would be proud of you still. Thank you for reflecting her to her in her final days.

You love….because she loved.

It’s so hard to wrap up all this love in one speech. But I don’t have to. Look around you. Here is all her love. Here is all her commitment. Here is the testimony to her life. Your tears are the proof she was here, she was important, she changed the world.

Do not fail Faith Davis’ legacy by leaving here unchanged in some way. You are not just here to mourn, you are here to face death and to see the answer to death.

You mourn death and fear death because death is not our natural state. We were created to live forever in and with our Creator. It feels wrong to witness death because it is wrong. We are fallen, but o death, where is thy sting? Our Savior has come to rescue and relieve, to reclaim and restore but only for those who see Him and believe Him.

If you’ve ever wished to be more like Faith - kinder, softer, more joyful, more accepting, a better wife, a good mother, a great friend - if you have ever thought to yourself “Man, I wish I could be like that.” …just know, you can be. What you saw in her was the love of Jesus Christ, the purpose of God. When people say “Let Jesus shine through you” they mean what you saw in Faith Davis. She shone so bright because she loved her Lord more than anything.

You can be that, but you must choose God. There are no other paths to love, and no other paths to everlasting life, no other paths to HERE, a funeral that is not really a goodbye but an “I’ll see you soon.”

You cannot have this comfort if your heart is closed to the Lord, so if you are struggling with the idea of God, don’t leave here today without making the choice to seek Him. You’ll never be anything like Mom if you don’t.

In closing, Mom would say (I think):

To her friends - be hospitable and open your heart to see the potential in everyone, especially every child.

To her extended family - love each other and protect each other, because we’re who God gave us to survive this strange and sinful world.

To strangers - don’t be mean and don’t be stupid and carry your own backpacks. Come to the table, the table God provided and eat and be full.

To her children and grandchildren - you were my pride and my joy and I only ever saw who you could be so please, please…go be that. Honor me with that.

To her husband- our love resides in the whispers, in the cracks and the crevices, in the dark places that only you and I know. Our love will be our secret, only shared by the Lord. And isn’t that so special?

And to all of us she would say - don’t be sad for me.

No I’m just kidding, she always said she wanted people to wail and moan and be VERY upset at her loss. We talked about it often on and off over the years, how we wanted our ends to look. She always said, “I hope people are wailing and falling out and I want gnashing of teeth!”

But really, what she wanted was to be remembered. So as we leave here today, let us go in remembrance of Faith Davis, and remember her together. Share your stories. Enjoy the lingering aroma of her presence. Shed a few tears (she’d like that) but share joy. And love each other. And serve each other. And above all, serve the Lord, for he is Good. He is Love.

Goodbye, mom. I know I speak for everyone when I say, thank you for loving us. Thank you.

We’ll see you later. We’ll see you there.
