I especially love it with animal print, thanks to Khaite and their Resort 2026 collection styling.

I pulled together some items I’m eyeing to add to my Spring collection that would integrate the color into my wardrobe without being overpowering or to on the nose. Very wearable pieces that would look good in my closet.

I swear 20 years ago I was buying colored denim at Urban Outfitters, so it’s exciting to see these Christopher Esber Denim coming back. I’d wear these with a white tee, animal print flat and a denim jacket or leather.

I recently went to the Cherry store in LA and grabbed this long sleeve which is more purple in person than it looks online. It’s so soft and broken in. I bought her very oversized which I love with denim and a great knit tied around my waist.

I have yet to purchase a Alaia flat but something about this gorgeous velvet makes my heart skip a beat. Such a unique style that I haven’t seen anyone wear before, which I love. I think adding texture like this to an outfit makes it more interesting.

After taking January off of spending on MYSELF, id be lying to you if I didn’t want to scratch the itch a bit. Though I feel that my month off has taken me into a new direction of a slower pace and a pause at hitting BUY on everything single cool thing I see. I was able to pull back and see what I could actually use or something that would improve my wardrobe.

I have my eye on jewelry right now….. mainly these earrings and necklace. Both obviously huge investment pieces. I need to choose wisely but turning away from “trendy” pieces at the moment looking at something I’ll have forever and holds more value.

1. This shirt - the cuffs are giving a moment and it has a really nice tailoring to it.

2. Looking to give a special gift to a friend? Shop a sustainable fashion, Rancho Lazy Daisy, with my dear friend Vanessa who recently started up cycling her vintage finds.

One of the most asked questions I get is usually about denim. Mainly because I’m 9/10 wearing jeans. Most of them are vintage Levis from 59Eastfield Vintage or RLT. But from time to time I try on really great designer denim, or pull really great brands for my personal styling clients.

I’m going to list to out some of my favorite denim brands, and styles and why I like them and what type of bodies these would fit.

R13 Jane Denim - basically the cool girl denim right now. High rise, subtly flared and a sleek silhouette that makes your legs look longggg. They sit high on the waist and skim on the hip and thigh. Non-stretch material. The high waist highlights your natural waist and the flare/wide leg balances curves beautifully. The long inseam (35in) works great for my tan gals. Because they’re high-rise and structured denim they can be a little unforgiving around the midsection if your between sizes or want a super relaxed fit size up for a slouchier feel.

Aflalo Denim - these jeans are made to complement a range of body types, especially curvy and athletic builds, by contouring through the hips and thighs without sacrificing shape or support. Well tailored denim that has amazing washes and great stitching details. It’s all about the little details with denim to me. I personally love the Orwell Jean in Rigid Denim in deep truffle.

Haikure Star Denim - these jeans have a relaxed yet structured fit that sits at the waist and falls effortlessly through the leg. Italian brand with timeless, slightly vintage inspired style that makes them easy to dress up with tailored pieces or keep casual. A everyday denim essentials with elevated appeal.

TWP Denim - Their denim reflects a mix of relaxed silhouettes, nods to classic menswear and California LA manufacturing, creating pieces that feel effortlessly chic yet thoughtfully designed for everyday wear. Their jeans fit true to size and are crafted from non-stretch material. Depending on the style, find range from mid rise straight and tapered cuts to high rise wide leg and barrel shapes.

DENIM BREAKDOWN

STRAIGHT LEG + TAPERED JEANS - work well on straight, athletic, and hourglass figures by creating a clean line while highlighting natural shape.

HIGH RISE + WIDE LEG DENIM - flattering for longer legs and those who want to define the waist while balancing wider hips or adding volume at the bottom.

I actually own a lot of great clothes so I want to acknowledge them! Because here’s the thing….I shop with intention. I am someone who tells people to buy LESS. I am also, personally speaking, someone who has panic bought a blazer because it was 30% off and I “had to have it.”

Both things can be true.

As a stylist, my whole ethos is intention. Buy the thing because it works with your life, not because an algorithm whispered you deserve a treat at 11:47pm. Wear your clothes. Rewear them. Build outfits that earn their keep instead of just taking up emotional and physical closet space.

Cost per wear is my love language.

I always ask my clients, “Does this go with at least three things you already own?” See my post here styling a new skirt 3 ways

buttttt I’m totally guilty of overconsuming. As the year went on in 2025, I found myself adding to cart more and loosing a little bit of control over my wardrobe. I’m not any better than anyone else and have the same simple desires. I mean, I’ve been in love with fashion my entire life, so i’m looking at it and reading about it daily. Hard not to want all the beautiful things in the world.

When I buy something impulsively, I style it. I wear it on repeat. Almost to a default. To prove myself it was a good purchase. I can hear my mom’s voice now, didn’t you wear that yesterday? I force it into rotation. Usually that’s a sign of a good purchase, coming I instantly want to rip the tags off and wear. Often the items that sit for a few days tend to get returned. If it doesn’t spark joy right away, it’s not worth it.

The goal isn’t to never shop but to stop outsourcing your style to constant consumption.

I think after the noise of November and December, sales, gift guides, “you must have” energy. I have just as turned off from it all as you probably feel.

So I want to invite you to join me because most of us already have enough.

A few practical tips that have helped me….

1. Decide Your Why

   Maybe it’s to save money, pay off a CC, or reduce clutter. Whatever it is write it down because it’s easier to connect to the challenge when you’ve set the commitment.

2. Shop Your Closet

   Pull out items you haven’t worn in 6 months or a year, pour a big cup of coffee, blast some good tunes and play dress up in your closet and take photos of outfits you create and put them in a photo album to look back at when your feeling less inspired.

3. Repeat Without Guilt

   Repeating outfits is normal and the most stylish people do it. I have a very similar outfit I wear multiple times a week because I feel good in it.

4. Style, Don’t Scroll

   Put the timer on your Instagram babyyyyyy. Limit that shit and instead of opening up to seeing what everyone else has head over to Pinterest and get inspired. I make mood boards all the time of outfits or esthetics I see and want to recreate in my own way. It’s a more creative way to find your personal style that seeing a stupid unboxing video and feeling crummy about not have the next “it bag.”

5. Notice What You Actually Miss

   Now I would love for you all to hire me but if you don’t have the budget for a personal stylist, this is a good time for you to write down your future wants or needs. When you go back to the list in February I bet you won’t care about half the things you wrote down. You’ll easily cross them off your list. That way you’ll have a clear head at seeing what you absolutely need or what will add value to your wardrobe. There is your future shopping list.

I promise this will feel so good and you’ll likely walk away with something far more valuable than a new outfit, a better relationship with your closet and shopping. A little therapy session cleanse is good for the soul.

And I think that’s the problem: nothing feels like it belongs to me.

For a long time, I kept waiting for inspiration to come back. I assumed it would arrive in the form of a new season, a new silhouette, a new It-item. Instead, the more I looked, the less I felt. Fashion started to feel transactional, optimized for algorithms, sameness disguised as novelty. Even when I bought something new, the excitement wore off almost immediately. The joy felt thin, temporary, and oddly hollow.

Somewhere along the way, I stopped shopping that way.

Without really meaning to, I found myself gravitating toward more vintage stores, secondhand racks, and out-of-the-way shops where nothing is labeled “essential” or “trending.” Places where you have to look closely. Where pieces don’t shout for attention but quietly wait to be chosen. It brought me back to the days I would ditch school and race down to the LA Mart on Fridays and rummage through the sample sales looking for the deal of the day.

And something shifted.

Vintage and one-of-a-kind secondhand pieces bring me a kind of joy that new clothes just don’t anymore. I feel like I’ve always mixed in second hand and vintage pieces to my wardrobe for as along as I could remember but this year the sales and curiosity to learn more abut the industry grew. Maybe it’s because they feel discovered rather than sold to me. Maybe it’s because they carry history and someone else wore this, lived in it, loved it, or maybe forgot it, and now it’s finding a second life with me. There’s a sense of intimacy there, a feeling that the piece has a story I’ll never fully know.

I love that I can’t just search for them online and have them delivered the next day. I love that if I don’t buy it, it might be gone forever. That scarcity isn’t artificial; it’s real. Each piece feels special because it is special, unrepeatable, imperfect, human.

Getting dressed has become more personal again. Instead of asking, “Is this in?” I ask, “Do I love this?” Instead of building outfits around trends, I build them around feeling. Texture. Shape. Memory. Emotion. A jacket that feels like a secret. A dress that makes no sense but somehow makes perfect sense to me. Very similar to how I encourage my personal styling clients to rid their closets of clothing that doesn’t make them feel like a million bucks the minute they put that article on their body. Why have a closet full of things that don’t spark joy?

There’s also a relief in opting out. In realizing I don’t have to keep up. That my style doesn’t need to be current to be meaningful. Fashion, at its best, was never about constant consumption, it was about expression, curiosity, and play. Vintage shopping brings me back to that.

I’m not anti-fashion.

Right now, I’d rather have fewer things that mean more. Pieces that feel chosen, not prescribed. Clothes that spark something when I put them on, not because they’re new, but because they’re mine in a way nothing mass-produced ever quite is.

Maybe inspiration didn’t disappear after all.

Maybe it was just waiting for me somewhere between a crowded rack, a fraying label, and a piece of clothing that no one else in the world owns the same way I do.

As I’ve been sharing more vintage and second hand finds on my Instagram, I noticed how quickly things were being scooped up by the community. It was shocking to see the difference between my EBAY finds vs. ShopBop. This is what really drove me to sit down and bring back my substack. It made me think that maybe I wasn’t alone in all of this.

Recently I’ve been testing out some new products that I’ve added into my skincare routine day and night. I’ve given then at least a month of use to make sure I give them time to do their magic.

BODY CARE

HANNI is body care for LAZY people. Literally. I was gifted the splash salve and water balm over a month ago and started using it right away. I had heard so much hype on these products and boy is it spot on. I use the splash salve in the shower as my last step in my routine. I rub it all over my skin as I would any other lotion and then lightly rinse my body with water (without rubbing it off ) right before I get out the shower. My skin is instantly nourished and smooth as I’m pat dry off without any extra steps. Why is it so nice to NOT have to do an extra step when you’re out of the shower? It saves SO much time. POOF I’m done. The scent is so fresh and subtle and it just makes you feel CLEAN. When I need a little extra hydration, maybe after I shave my legs I’ll then spray on the water balm which literally has no texture but water. I’ll spray it all over my body and it absorbs instantly into my skin with no residue or greasy feeling aftermath. SKIN CARE

VIOLETTE_FR not only makes the best blushes and balms but has really great skincare. I started using the Boum-Boum Milk as my first step after I wash my face. Once thing about me is I NEVER dry my face. I let it air dry. I learned about this years ago as it lets the water on your face absorb back into your skin. It’s a little weird when you start but you get use to it. I try to do anything that doesn’t require rubbing my skin or putting a towel on it. So when my face it almost dry I spray this all over and let it absorb with the water. This milk is a 3-in-1 so it’s a toner, serum and moisturizer and can even be sprayed on your body and HAIR! So cool! I noticed using this my redness is gone and my skin well prepped for other products. When I’m going to workout, I usually just spray this on my face and go! This is one of the firs products in a long time that I’ve used the entire bottle. I’ve also been using the C'est La Cream as a daytime moisturizer. My skin is super sensitive so I don’t like to use thick creams during the day and under makeup. It’s a barrier cream so it has healthy fat, ceramides, and cholesterol that rests on the surface of our porous skin so that helpful things stay in and harmful things stay out.

Dr. Diamond's METACINE has been alllll over Instagram so at first I was very spectical of if it would be worth the hype I’d been seeing. The system consists of 2 steps - Instafacial collection a plasma serum and emulsion cream. The serum is for AM/PM and the gel like cream is for the evenings only. First few weeks of being consistent with the two was mind blowing to be honest. The price tag is high but wow I feel like I’m seeing new younger skin being formed on my face. My skin appears to be smoother and my pores are almost invisible. I feel like I have my baby skin again and it’s glowing like never before on it own. I’m obsessed. It took him over 10 years to bring these products to the market so I know the aggressive trials these products has to go though and the clinical trials are mind blowing.

U BEAUTY has the best eye concentrate I’ve ever tried. I use this eye cream every night. Its a really nice and thick concistency so I feel like it’s really hydrating my under eye area all night long. I’ve noticed a huge difference in the way I look when I wake up and I’m certain my dark circles are way less visible.

So recently I hit “purchased” on a few items I’ve been pondering on for sometime. Starting with these amazing red Ferragamo Cage Heel . This cool Ferragamo kitten mule ticks all the boxes. Easy to wear, super chic and seriously glam. I saw these a few months ago and feel in love with the pop of red and the structure of the gunmetal heel. These look so good with a great pair of vintage 501 Levis and a basic tee for a night out. She sent mehome with a special stud for a piercing that I haven’t had a chance to change out and some beautiful bezel drop earrings.

I found the original recipe from Arielle Lorre but I’ve tweaked it a bit match my taste. I started making it the same way she had in her original recipe but found that it was a little to sweet for myself and kids. Believe it or not they enjoy salmon pretty simple with EVOO, salt/pepper/garlic and lemon.

Sometimes I enjoy a DASH of maple syrup in the marinade but most of the time I leave it out to cut out the added sugar.

INGREDIENTS

2 salmon filet, skin removed

1 cup Coconut Amino acids

Maple Syrup (as needed but just a dash)

2 tbsp minced garlic

salt and pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS

Cut salmon into cubes if using an air fryer or leave as a filet if baking

In a bowl or bag combine salmon, garlic, seasoning and coconut aminos

Let marinade in the fridge for 20 minutes or more if you have the time

COOKING

Air Fryer

400 degrees for 12 minutes

Flip then add another 1-2 minutes depending on size of salmon and desired taste

Oven

375 degrees for 20 mins

I’ve been enjoying using the salmon cubes many different ways, mainly as a bowl with cauliflower rice and some sort of veggie. Today I made salmon tacos with Siete Almond Flour tortillas , Violife Feta cheese , lettuce, avocado, Primal Kitchen Vegan Mayo, red onion, Everything Bagel seasoning, and salt/pepper.

Trust me this is something you want to save for the future when you need a quick, easy, and healthy recipe. Make it your own and style it anyway you like but make sure let me know if you try it and what you think! Love getting any feedback if you like this type of content!

Last night I attended an intimate Substack Writers event co-hosted by Marlien Rentmeester, Megan Alida Strachan and Molly Sims, three amazing women I truly admire. Marlien was gracious enough to open her home to all of us and bring together a bunch of incredible women. I was able to meet so many new people and familar faces I’ve followed and loved for so many years in this space. I was really excited to meet, Tiffany Lopinsky, so-founder of ShopMy. Hearing that she actually looks at my stories and enjoys my account was mind blowing. I’ve been with Shopmy for over a year now and it was so cool to see the woman behind the platform that I relay on so heavily for my business.

There was so many times I looked around and wanted to pinch myself. The fact that I was in the room with so many powerful women with such big asperations like myself. I was so excited to hang and sit with my girl Gabriells Gofis. Who has been such a bright light and cheerleader in my “content creating” journey. She has been someone who I’ve gone to with so many questions and advice, and she has been so welcoming to me. I’m so lucky to have met someone like her.

We went around and shared a little bit about ourselvesand our journey with Substack. Some women have been publishing for awhile and some are just getting started and looking for inspiration. I shared how I’ve been trying to blend my styling business and my love for creating content for brands I love. It was so refreshing to hear from so many other that were trying to do the same. Many of them have huge brands already, Janessa Leone , Jacey Duprie, Adina Reyter, Monika Blunder.

Listening to everyone really got my wheels spinning, so much so that I could hardly sleep last night trying to think of a new name for this Substack. Though one of the biggest take aways from the night was the fact that in a room filled with all these amazing women, one thing was a common denominator. We all OVERTHINK things, ourselfs, our worth, our insecruties. We are all bounded by this so it really got me thinking about taking the pressure off of things being perfect and striving for simplicities. Things that are raw, real and far from perfect. I hope to write once a week about something that has come into my life that made things a little more relaxed and simple.
