DURING HIS FIRST TERM HE REFERRED TO THE PRESIDENTIAL ESCAPE AS QUOTE "RUSTIC" 

ROOSEVELT ESTABLISHED IT WHEN CRUISES ABROAD HIS PRESIDENTIAL YACHT BECAME TOO RISKY DURING WORLD WAR TWO. WHILE TRUMP PREFERS THE LIKES OF THE NEW PRESIDENTIAL AIRCRAFT UNVEILED TODAY WHICH WAS DESCRIBED AS "YACHT-LIKE” BY REPORTERS THAT GOT AN OFF CAMERA TOUR.

SO, IT SEEMS CURIOUS TRUMP IS GOING THERE THIS WEEKEND, AS THE US IRAN PEACE DEAL REMAINS ON SHAKEY GROUND.

A WHITE HOUSE OFFICIAL TELLS ME THE PRESIDENT IS GOING THERE FOR POLICY AND POLITICAL MEETINGS, AND FOR FATHER'S DAY. HIS FAMILY IS EXPECTED TO MEET HIM THERE.

BUT IT COMES AFTER VP VANCE'S TRIP TO SWITZERLAND WAS ABRUPTLY POSTPONED. HE COULD BE AT THE PRESIDENTIAL RETREAT THIS WEEKEND. THE GUEST LIST REMAINS UNKNOWN. 

THE LAST TIME PRESIDENT TRUMP WENT TO CAMP DAVID WAS AROUND THIS TIME LAST YEAR, AND WEEKS LATER HE CARRIED OUT OPERATION MIDNIGHT HAMMER WHEN THE US TOOK OUT KEY IRANIAN NUCLEAR FACILITIES, JOINING ISRAEL IN THE FIGHT AGAINST IRAN.

THIS TIME THE US ISN'T IN LOCKSTEP WITH ISRAEL.

ISRAEL WANTS TOTAL VICTORY OVER IRAN.

TRUMP WANTS THE WAR OVER, AND CONSIDERS IT WON. 

NOTHING ON THE PRESIDENTS SCHEDULE ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY BESIDES 8 AM EXECUTIVE TIME.

I sat down with one of the recipients of the Medal of Honor and had the honor of sharing his story with our viewers.

One congressional Republican tells me: “Conservatives on the Hill are stunned that Vance would erase all of Trump’s military victories in such a terrible deal. Trump effectively won the war and at the 11th hour Vance is negotiating his way to a loss.”

Earlier today President Trump with a smile said, “if it works out, I’m going to take the credit, if it doesn’t work out, I’m blaming JD.”

Trump praised the deal reached with Iran during his visit to the G7 in France and signed a copy of the MOU tonight at Versailles.

Trump selected Vance to lead the Iran talks over Rubio.

Vance and Rubio both have reported 2028 ambitions.

A source close to the White House responding to this congressional Republican tonight tells me:

“This unnamed congressional Republican has some real audacity to try to strip the President of his agency to undermine and derail his peace deal.”

The source also adds that it’s notable congressional Republicans would criticize a deal that would have positive economic effects so close to the midterms.

President Trump said today that the world was at risk of running out of oil reserves in four weeks.

Trump said, “I didn’t want to see economic catastrophe. If you kept this going, that could have happened.”

The senior administration official tells me that they don’t know exactly where the signing is going to take place. They heard “discussions of Europe.” Some sort of “middle ground” between the U.S. and Iran.

Cuomo had said Homan told him 'you pick the place' and when Chris said Delaney Hall, the administration said they couldn't do it because of Homan's schedule and that they weren't allowing access to the facility.

Homan told me today that it isn't up to him who comes to interview him there. He said it is "ICE's call."

I thought I’d do a weekly recap to make it easier to understand what is happening here at the White House, with the added behind the scenes details I see as a White House Correspondent.

This week started slowly with my recovery from > 40 hours in Singapore extending into Monday.

T:

On Tuesday I jumped right back into it with a slew of Trump’s top Cabinet officials on Capitol Hill, combining my old beat with my new one.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio faced lawmakers twice in one day, Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche took questions just 24 hours before Trump’s former personal lawyer was nominated for AG by the President, and Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin took questions on the administration’s immigration enforcement tactics.

And we had Dr. Oz over here at the White House briefing.

I covered Dr. Oz's senate race back in 2022.

Rubio appeared before the same committee he used to serve on. He faced a lot of questions over the war in Iran which he claimed was over.

Mullin slammed Democrats for playing “political games” over ICE and CBP funding. (That funding passed by Friday).

W:

AI was the topic of the day on Wednesday as OpenAI’s CEO Sam Altman crisscrossed Capitol Hill meeting lawmakers from both sides of the aisle. Altman was pitching them against the proposal from the White House that AI developers get federal government approval before releasing new models to the public.

President Trump signed an AI executive order on Tuesday asking companies to voluntarily submit their best AI models for cybersecurity testing before release. Agencies get up to 30 days to test them.

By the end of the week President Trump was back to focusing on ways to bring down costs, as the war in Iran keeps costs high for Americans. Trump made several announcements on coal hoping it could bring down energy costs framing it as a way to help Americans with the cost of living. Trump announced a $700-million-dollar investment in coal plants across the country.

There are major concerns around the climate, but beyond that critics question the need for a move like this right now. Renewable energy has produced more electricity than coal for the first time on record in 2025. While coal production has seen a steady decline over the past few decades.

F:

By Friday we were talking about farmers- and again about the war in Iran pushing costs of fertilizer and diesel to new highs. The cost of diesel up more than 50% since the war began back in February.

The President is set to join a roundtable discussion on agriculture with Wisconsin farmers Friday afternoon.

The area he is visiting is intentional as it is a key battleground district in November’s midterm election. The current Rep. Derrick Van Orden currently trailing before his Democratic challenger. Orden banking on support from the Trump team to win.
