We are back with round II! May I just say, this kind of stuff LIGHTS. ME. UP. The dopamine hit I get looking at quirky little kid things is almost unmatched to anything else at the moment (sniffing my baby’s head wins.) If you’ve followed me on social media for a few years, you may remember how our home used to have all white walls. Blasphemy, I know. Lately I have been paying exceedingly close attention to what truly makes me feel light and puts a smile on my face. And to no one’s surprise, it is my kids and their world. The small colorful trinkets, the craft ideas, the random little bits, the color, the playfulness, the unseriousness of it all… it’s pure joy.

Have you ever just sat and fully watched a child make art? They’re completely and utterly uninhibited by what they should or shouldn’t do. It’s total freedom. And how they just do exactly what comes to their minds the second it hits their beautiful little brains? It’s the most inspiring thing on this planet. And that’s how their world feels - joyful, carefree, profound, playful, unrestrained.

If you have been following me for a while, you may have noticed my journey with color throughout my home. When we first moved into our house, I had every wall painted white. A blank slate. But overtime, these all white walls began to feel very uninspiring and left me craving more personality. Enter: paint and wallpaper. The easiest way to completely transform a space.

The different shades in my home evoke such strong feelings for me. The bold yellow in our family room feels like a warm cocooning hug while the blushy, peachy pink of our living room was inspired by my daughter’s cheeks. The pale blue of our dining room is reminiscent of early spring days and the warm ivory of our bedroom is like a deep, restorative exhale. Let’s jump in!

Hi all! The other night I had the worst cramping and back pain and for a brief moment truly thought I might be going into labor. That’s when it hit me: oh sh*t… I haven’t even packed my hospital bag (nor installed the car seat).

In the spirit of a small panic-induced wake-up call, I spent this week finally getting myself organized. I have started to pack my hospital bag and got the car seat out of storage and I thought I would share exactly what I’m bringing with me this time around.

I’m also including the items I packed when I had my first daughter that ultimately proved to be completely unnecessary.
