The routine feedback from our Intermediate Courses with Vladimir Sukhonosov is always very positive. Working with one of last remaining first generation of Buteyko Practitioners, who worked directly under Professor K.P. Buteyko is a rare and valuable opportunity.

This Intermediate Buteyko Training is for students who have completed Beginners Training and have managed to improve their CP and MP.

This course places emphasis on techniques to improve physical strength, stamina and methods to augment energy levels. It turns out that there are other ways to improve CO2 levels than just Maximum Pauses.

What initially seems to be counterintuitive is the fact that the very same approach for athletes to improve endurance and stamina, also applies to students who suffer with breathlessness.

The proof is not just being able to walk up more flights of stairs than you thought possible - but also observing significant improvements in your CP’s and MP’s.

Learning and practicing Buteyko’s Intermediate Techniques for many students goes beyond mere reductions in symptoms, but opens the door to engaging in physical activity that many students thought was no longer possible.

The courses are much smaller than our Free Beginner Courses and offer an intimacy of training, in which students can more easily absorb the depth of understanding and experience, which emanates from Vladimir’s vast practical knowledge.

I promised throughout several Advanced Workshops, that we would be providing some ongoing follow-up and here it is…at last.

This Advanced Follow-up is going to focus upon the importance around retraining a mind that has already been trained and programmed, often over many decades.

For many students, the experience tends to run and follows:

1.) Agreeing with self evident reality from an intellectual perspective.

2.) Directing one’s mind through self inquiry.

3.) Deliberately and persistently practicing the above, which is often a precursor to various relaxing mental experiences (albeit temporary) and particular realisations that comport with equanimity.

4.) All seems to be more or less moving along in the right direction, until as if one suddenly awakes to experiencing the very same overpowering emotions, aversions, compulsions and sense of irritation, that we may have assumed had already been discharged.

5.) Sometimes, we are able to cleave back to our source and sometimes for one reason or another we just plain forget the way - and the next thing you know, it’s as though we are right back to where we started. Boring but necessary.

The above 5 stages are a generalisation to make a particular point which is that :

The mind/brain is nothing if not complex. The way in which thoughts and their infinite permutations are subconsciously generated in reaction to outside stimulus has been programmed repetitiously, greatly influenced by the prevailing philosophical architecture we have experienced. It’s not that the programming is so sophisticated or powerful, but that through repetition it gains strength beyond its logic. A good analogy is that of a weak strand of cotton thread that can be easily broken - but when repetitiously woven involving hundreds of threads, it becomes a rope of immense strength.

The above 5 stages to various degrees are a precursor for a very particular realisation. That the way to untangle a complex knot is exactly the same process by which the knot was made, except in reverse. Fortunately, not much effort is required, but to more or less a degree the effort needs to have enough frequency to displace old thought habits and unhelpful learned tendencies. This is a fairly straight forward job of deliberate brain washing, except you are the one washing your own brain and not someone else.

It all distills into remembering certain things. But how can you remember if one forgets ?

The purpose and theme of this Advanced Follow-Up is to emphasise the practical realities of how our brains operate from an accumulative perspective (memory) and what practical and concrete steps we can take to augment our rightful state of being.

On this coming Thursday the 12th at 3 pm London time, Vladimir and I will be giving a free two hour presentation on Buteyko’s Method.

We’ll be touching on its discovery and history, how and why it works, practical issues and the most common errors and misunderstandings, followed by a Q & A.

As one of Professor Buteyko’s earliest practitioners and someone who for decades worked under Professor Buteyko’s direct supervision, Vladimir is able to give a unique insight into Professor Buteyko’s opinion and ideas on a broad range of subjects, in particular the correct administration of his method.

In addition to his Red Buteyko Diploma, Vladimir was given an Audit Diploma by Professor Buteyko which authorised him to rate, qualify and if necessary, even disqualify Buteyko Practitioners in the former Soviet Union. Vladimir has taught Buteyko’s Method to tens of thousands of students in the former Soviet Union and the UK and is a co-founder of Learn Buteyko Online, wherein he continues to teach to students all over the world. Certainly, he is the most experienced practitioner in the world at this time.

I was amongst the first Westerners to receive a Red Diploma from Professor Buteyko after working with his protege, Alexander Stalmatski for over a decade - and since the early 1990’s have managed to teach in excess of 25,000 students all over the world.

We welcome past and present students, but particularly hope to reach new people and hope that our subscribers might encourage their friends, family and others to join this meeting also.

It almost doesn’t matter what your immediate challenges are - in almost all cases you are better off if you’re equanimous and robust. Ultimately, our mind’s and bodies fail, but in the meantime we surely owe it to ourselves to make things as comfortable and happy for ourselves and those around us.

Practicing Buteyko may not directly effect the tide of world events in which our mortal lives are flung about - but it can make a huge difference to our abilities to cope under pressure, to effectively deal with chronic symptoms and augment stamina.

I’ve had the privilege to have taught Buteyko’s Method to tens of thousands of people for over more than thirty years. What I’ve learnt is, that it’s not for everybody. But for those who can cleave to its principles, grasp its nuances and develop competency in its practice, invariably demonstrate huge improvements in their overall quality of life.

We offer our Beginner Workshops for free out of gratitude to whatever it was that enabled us to personally benefit from its practice.
