It has been tough to balance life, my 9 to 5, writing Substacks, making TikToks, and, gosh, this whole content creation thing is basically a full-time job.

Speaking of jobs, yes, I am bringing back the Fashion Job Boards! But we are switching things up a little. They will now come twice a month, every other Monday, so I can make sure I am actually curating good opportunities for you instead of throwing a list together just for the sake of posting!

But I am here today for a very different reason:

I feel very strongly about how I look when I travel. I am taking two very long overnight flights to Europe this week, (by the time you receive this in your inbox, I may already be at the airport), and as I started to pack, I also started thinking about the airport uniform.

Because I truly believe we can be comfortable and cute. We do not have to choose.

So below, I put together some of my favorite airport outfit formulas and, of course, linked my ultimate airport picks folder for anyone who wants to recreate the looks.

I am also trying to be much better about using my ShopMy. I know it sounds silly, but I do in fact get so many questions about where things are from and then completely forget to link them. So, consider this my official attempt to get my ducks in a row.

Now, let’s talk airport dressing.

Because there is something about walking through an airport in a good outfit that makes the entire travel experience feel a little more glamorous. I love an “indoor sunglasses” moment. A good chunky, cashmere, oversized sweater. Or just simply knowing you look put together while everyone else is wearing pajama pants. You will never catch me wearing pajama pants at the airport.

The formula is:

Comfy pant with stretchy waistband (please do not wear shorts at the airport omg) +

Cute cotton top (short sleeve with an added layer or long sleeve) +

Chunky sweater layer +

Catch all tote +

Hair accessory +

Cute shoe (loafer, ballerina flat, sleek sneaker)

Either way, I am leaning into it.

And after all, getting to your final destination is part of the experience. So put on the good outfit, grab your iced coffee, romanticize the airport a little, and let the trip begin before you even board the plane.

We’re more intentional. More present. Dressing for ourselves, not to impress, not for anyone else. The goal is to feel like the best version of ourselves. Effortless. Easy. Breezy. But for it to feel natural, we have to act as if… we have to embody the version of ourselves we’re stepping into.

For me, that starts with a little spring cleaning. Letting go of the old to make space for the new. And no, I don’t mean an entirely new wardrobe… we’re not big on fast fashion around here. It’s about investing in a few intentional pieces that make what we already own feel fresh, versatile, and exciting again.

Also, I’ve been wanting to increase & enhance my content on Substack, now that we are a 150+ community. Eeek!!! I know in the scope of social media, it’s not a lot. But for little me, it is! It’s massive.

Don’t worry, the Job Boards will still come every Monday for those of you who are actively looking for a role in the fashion industry. And fashion and Styling will continue to be the meat of this publication, but I do love to “home make” so I want to incorporate it into this too.

For the first non-fashion branch of our Bare Bone Summer, I’m sharing an ICONIC recipe that you will make on repeat this season. It’s healthy, it’s delicious, it’s versatile, it’s fast… and it’s from Ina Garten, so we know it’ll be good.

Ina Garten’s Go-To Dinners: Greek Orzo Salad

Serves 4

Ingredients:

• 1 cup of orzo

• 1 cup of canned chickpeas, rinsed and drained

• 2 cups of baby arugula

• 4 ounces of Greek feta, ½-inch diced (not crumbled)

• ½ cup of good olive oil

• ½ cup of diced red bell pepper

• ½ cup of diced red onion

• ½ cup of kalamata olives, pitted and halved lengthwise

• ¼ cup of freshly-squeezed lemon juice, plus extra for serving

• 3 tablespoons of capers in brine, drained

• 3 tablespoons of minced fresh dill

Preparation:

Boil 6 cups of water (I used half water and half bone broth!) and add the orzo. Simmer the orzo for 8-10 minutes.

In the meantime, in a glass cup whisk together the 1/2 cup EVOO, the 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice, 2 tsp of salt and 1 tsp of pepper.

Chop up your red bell pepper, red onion and kalamata olives.

Once the orzo is ready, drain and transfer to a big bowl. Add the EVOO and lemon mixture to the warm orzo.

Add everything together into the big bowl, the cheese and dill last! So they don’t get soggy!

That’s it! Y’all it’s that easy. This was my final result:

Now to wrap this up, and because I am visual… here’s how we embrace a Bare Bone Summer, with some images that really represent this feeling:

The next few months are about how we move through the season. Slower mornings, lighter fabrics, simple meals, and plans that don’t require overthinking.

It’s linen dresses, minimal makeup, and outfits built from just a few intentional pieces. It’s a bowl of orzo salad you throw together on a sunny afternoon, eaten outside, preferably with something sparkling rose in hand. Effortless, unfussy, and quietly chic.

If this summer feels different, that’s probably the point. We’re stripping things back, keeping only what feels good, letting ease lead the way and letting the bonessss be out and about!

Last year, we collectively, as fashion girls and boys, decided it would either be a “Beach-to-Disco Summer” or a “Fisherman-Core Summer.” From a fashion (and beauty) perspective, we dressed, acted, and fully embodied these themes like they were the unofficial uniform of the season.

If you chose Beach-to-Disco, you were glamming up your summer looks to the nines. You probably bought, or DIY’d, the mini skirt below, and layered in glitzy pieces to elevate your resort wardrobe.

We mixed feathers, pearls, sequins, and lace with classic warm-weather staples like crochet and swim.

On the other hand, we had the Fisherman Core aesthetic. Whether you loved it or hated it, it was everywhere. Cue Danielle Bernstein’s WeWoreWhat collection… complete with red and white stripes, a fish shack, and canoes as props for the campaign.

Boat shoes became the shoe. Sperry Topsiders were so back that even Aritzia launched a collaboration featuring a brown leather pair I genuinely could not shut up about.

You could also be both, like I was. Depending on the occasion, I fluctuated between sparkly mermaid and Italian fisherman.

This is also not new. Other iterations of this concept have been happening for years now, I guess since the early stages of TikTok. We have been through “Coastal Grandma Summer” and “Western Summer”. But this year, we’re hearing it loud and clear:

Bare Bone Summer.

Special shoutout to Sarah Kate, my fashion bestie, for narrowing this down and putting the Summer 2026 feeling into words.

So… what is Bare Bone Summer?

We’re envisioning 100% linen, lots of black and white, and statement accents used to elevate these otherwise simple palettes. I’ve been seeing pops of red everywhere… bags, shoes, headpieces… but the overall look remains clean and understated.

Think spaghetti straps, bare collarbones, uncovered arms. Long, effortless maxi silhouettes that move easily. Natural(ish) hair and makeup. Playful accessories, but never overdone. Monochromatic looks paired with coastal elements. You want the intention to be clear, and the intention is to look unintentional.

Comfort takes precedence. Fabrics are soft and breezy, with just enough personality to keep things interesting. Low-rise silhouettes, a little more skin, hems that puddle at the ankles like the pants are just one inch too long. Nothing restrictive. No bra (if you can get away with it). Low effort, not because you don’t care, but because you’re prioritizing materials, comfort, and ease… and focusing on the summer itself.

And most importantly: letting the skin breathe.

Hence, Bare Bones Summer.

We saw it in many shapes, forms and materials: silk, wool, heavy embroidery, even leather. It became the ultimate Spring/Summer styling trick, but what made it iconic was its longevity. Come Fall/Winter, it evolved, we all wore them in cashmere or wool, layered over trousers, styled with long sleeves, or even belted over a blazer. It was adaptable. It was chic. It was the IT IETM.

But fashion never stays still.

As fashion girlies, we’re always ready for the next styling obsession. Something fresh, playful, and ideally not wildly expensive (because… in this economy!?).

So allow me to introduce your new best friend, and our next featured IT ITEM:

the fringe scarf.

She’s different. Sleeker. More refined. Like we collectively outgrew the previous version and graduated to something more elevated.

What I love most about this one is its versatility , and the way it instantly pulls a look together. You could be wearing the simplest base fit, and suddenly you look intentional and aggressively fashion-forward.

But we do need to be specific here, ladies (and gents).

We’ve made this trend niche. It has to be silk (or satin at the very least). It should be narrow, around 5–6” wide. It needs length, long enough to wrap around the waist and still cascade past the knees. And the N=non-negotiable: the fringe. Long and fluid.

Aside from that, it’s just… a scarf.

I am a very visual person, so I’m leaving a few examples below. I am sure we will all find new and creative ways to give it even more focus as the season progresses.

I wanted to share her AB (her initials!) system for reclaiming your closet in an easy, step-by-step way. I’ll be using this exact method when I transition my wardrobe from Fall/Winter to Spring/Summer this year—so if you want to join me, here you go:

1. Pull out your regulars

Start with what you actually wear on repeat, and take it out of the closet.

Not what you wish you wore. Not the aspirational pieces. The real MVPs.

It doesn’t matter if it’s all leggings, ragged sweaters, or the same blazer you reach for weekly. No cap, take out the pieces that are in constant rotation.

Do the same with shoes, bags, and accessories.

Ask yourself:
What do these pieces have in common? Silhouettes, fabrics, color palettes, shapes?
Do you like what you see?

This is the only honest way to identify your authentic style.

2. Identify the “NEVERS”

• The pieces you love… but never wear

• Hate… and never wear

• No longer fit your body

• No longer fit your lifestyle

• Love, but don’t know how to style

• Only know how to style in one way

Repeat this exercise for shoes, bags, and accessories.

Yes, it will look like chaos. That’s part of the process.

3. Divide Your NEVER Pile Into 3

1. The Hard No (Never!!)
Pieces that don’t fit, don’t serve you, or simply don’t look good anymore.
If your closet is stuck in the past, you will be too. Don’t look back.

2. The “No, Not Now”
Items you’re not ready to part with but don’t need taking up prime real estate in your closet.
Think: special occasion, maternity, sentimental pieces. Go ahead and store them away (suitcase or storage box).

3. The “How?” Pile
Pieces you love in theory or on the hanger, in store, or on someone else, but aren’t sure how to make them work for you.

These are your statement pieces. Keep them to experiment and play with styling.

4. Let’s organize

Her method: by category and by color.

Blazers together, tops together, pants, skirts, etc. Then arranged chromatically within each section.

Personally? I don’t follow this system to the letter… but I’m open to it.

5. Shop your gaps (intentionally)

Now that you have visibility, identify what’s missing and start a running list. Stay curious, not impulsive.

If you donated all your silk pieces, maybe silk just isn’t your thing.
If all your polka dots or stripes made the exit pile, that’s data, not a problem.

Don’t repurchase trends that don’t align with how you actually dress.

6. Quality > Quantity

If it’s pilling, ripped, stretched out, or tired… it has to go.

I’m proud to say I’ve always been true to what I genuinely love. Long before Love Story: JFK Jr. & Carolyn Bessette premiered on Hulu, I had already been quietly obsessing over Calvin Klein for years. There’s something deeply nostalgic about it. When Veronica Leoni brought CK back to New York Fashion Week, I was over the moon for days. I studied every look, every model, every silhouette. And none of it had anything to do with Carolyn.

But now? With the show becoming the latest cultural fixation, everyone is suddenly rediscovering Calvin Klein, ’90s minimalism, and the iconic C.O. Bigelow headband.

You guys, this headband is about to be the IT ITEM of the season. At least until the next buzzy show drops and the fashion girlies collectively decide we’re onto something new.

And honestly? I’m not mad about it.

It’s kind of hilarious to think back to my high school years when I was only allowed to wear a white ribbon or a tortoise hair clip. White ankle socks and black loafers. The whole uniform energy. And now here I am in 2026, 33 years old, willingly spending my own money to buy those exact same pieces again.

And that, my friends, is cyclical fashion at its finest.

But after staring at the list one too many times , and feeling slightly overwhelmed, I decided to channel my inner Carrie Bradshaw and just start typing.

This is going to be a four-part series. In each installment (yes, episode… but make it editorial), I’ll break down a different styling method. These are the four pillars of getting dressed. And if you’ve ever felt like your outfits don’t look quite polished, or like you own beautiful pieces but can’t quite figure out how to make them work together, this series is for you.

Because I know you have great taste. The magic isn’t in buying better pieces. It’s in making the pieces you already own work together.

So naturally, I’m starting with my favorite styling method of all time:

The Sandwich.

And it works for the exact same reason an actual sandwich works. When you layer great ingredients in the right order, the result is just… yummy.

Now here’s the tricky part: it’s not always what you think.

You might assume “sandwiching” simply means matching your belt to your shoes. And yes, that’s a classic example. But it’s not the only way.

You can sandwich anything.
A headband with a necklace and a shoe.
A bag with a scarf and sunglasses.
A top with a hat and a heel.

The concept is about visual balance, repeating an element so the eye moves intentionally through the outfit. It’s about creating “sisterhoods” with 2 or more pieces in your outfit to create endless possibilities.

She sandwiches the bag with the shoes, and you can tell how intentional this look is, because she also sandwiched the bangle.

Another phenomenal example. Necklace and shoes and bangles. Bag and pant!

This one is specific, because it’s a print sandwich. But it works because it makes the eye flow and makes a cohesive outfit ecosystem, if that makes any sense.

But it can be as simple as this one, just break up the fit with an item of a different color. Like a belt, scarf, necklace, etc. It creates a focal point, the meat of the sandwich, metaphorically speaking. And the rest can just act as a sourdough and accoutrements.

Maybe the secret to getting dressed isn’t about having more. Maybe it’s about assembling what you already have… in the right order.

Because just like a sandwich, it’s not about the ingredients alone. It’s about how they’re stacked.

I’ve officially convinced myself that if I bring a little spring energy into my day-to-day life, the weather might eventually catch up.

Zara Home has always been my go-to for affordable, small touches you can sprinkle throughout your space to shift the mood with the seasons. And if I’m being honest? If I had to boil down all the trends I’ve seen so far into one idea or concept, it would be: The Juxtaposition of every day wear and runway-worthy pieces.

All I have seen is elevated pieces styled back to everyday basics like crewneck sweaters, simple t-shirts, denim, and other usual staples. Tory Burch herself framed this idea perfectly when she described the pieces in her FW 26 collection as “utilitarian and unpretentious”. It felt like basics. But these basics were on steroids.

Vogue is calling the season “safer than usual”. I see it differently. To me, it feels more approachable, like an extended reach toward the everyday woman.

I can easily see myself dressing like this for market week: elevated, but comfortable. Intentional, but effortless. These are trends you and I can actually wear! Pieces we can find, style, and make our own. Looks that work for the office, for dinner, for real life.

The perfect example is the below Tory look. It’s polished enough to be on the runway, but… I think I can recreate this look with pieces I already have in my closet! Do you see what I mean now?

So again, is fashion is finally feeling… wearable?!

Ok yea yea, fashion is wearable, then what the heck do I wear?

I narrowed down these “wearable” trends so you don’t have to. So be on the lookout for these key items, colors, and silhouettes below as you shop through 2026. These trends have longevity, they’re sustainable in the sense that we’ll actually wear them, making them well worth the investment.

The Rise of Violet:

Purple has been predominant in the runways this season. I remember celebrity stylist Danielle Goldberg (Arielle Charnas’ sister!) calling out violet as the color of the season and using it heavily when styling for red carpets.

Made me think of Barney, to be honest.

But I guess purple is here, and here to stay. The good thing is that we can play with different shades: wine, deep purples and burgundies, lavenders, etc. I’ve seen it a lot in accessories, and head to toe looks. Especially in the Michael Kors show. We shall see if this carries on to London, Milan and Paris in the upcoming weeks.

Ornamental Metallics:

We saw it at Ralph Lauren in the form of armor-esque tops and metallic chainmail and mesh pieces, while Tory Burch leaned into silver-toned fabrications. Carolina Herrera delivered mirror-like tube dresses, and Michael Kors accessorized his looks with oversized metallic jewelry.

Transparencies:

We first saw it on Matthieu Blazy’s couture debut for Chanel, and New York Fashion Week only confirmed that this trend is set to be big as every single show participated in some way.

Heritage Plaid:

Head-to-toe plaid, mixing tartan patterns in a way that feels deliberately exaggerated, and over the top. Think like an old couch, but make it fashion.

Not Any Animal Print.. Leopard Print:

Self explanatory.

The Balloon Effect:

I’m going to be honest, it took me a minute to name this trend, mainly because no one seems to be talking about it. And yet, it’s everywhere. Jonathan Anderson gave us the exact same shape and form at his Dior Spring Couture show just a few weeks ago.

We know couture often sets the stage for the season, while RTW fashion weeks can feel like a watered-down version of those shows (as I wrote IN THIS ARTICLE!). But wow! This trend is ramping up, and fast.

The lineup included both, Purple Label and Polo Ralph Lauren, reaffirming the house’s mastery of “elevated western” storytelling. Heritage tailoring, equestrian references, and preppy notes. It felt like a reminder that no one does aspirational American luxury like RL does.

And the comeback landed. (It kinda reminded me of Veronica Leoni’s and the CK comeback last FW season!) The show became the most-viewed men’s presentation of the season across both Milan and Paris (per Vogue).

Additionally, Lauren was awarded CFDA Designer of the Year at the end of 2025, and the house has also been among the first to successfully integrate an AI virtual stylist into its marketing strategy. And that’s saying a lot, because I’ll admit… I’m notoriously anti-AI. So giving credit where it’s due does not come easily.

All of the above is to simply set the stage to walk you through a few details you may have missed from Ralph Lauren’s FW 2026 show last night, that I firmly believe will determine the tone for trends that will carry us through 2027.
