Jarvis Cocker’s Home Office

Saved because: One of the best things in the world is seeing inside the thinking space of one of your heroes. And this week, everyone’s favorite and most whimsical stationary shop, Choosing Keeping, visited the office of Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker, a musical hero of mine. What first struck me is his Vivienne Westwood pirate-print wallpaper. I mean, are you kidding???

Also, the images of his desk reminded me that maybe a little bit of mess is okay, and having character in a space is deeply important to me in any space I inhabit. It’s just not my way to be overly minimal, and that’s ok! Now, to only imagine the lyrics and anecdotes in his abundance of notebooks…

P.S.(I shared the images of when they shot Simone Rocha’s office a while ago, and, it is, like everything Simone does, full of wonder. Worth a peep if you’re a fan of hers.)

Casey Casey Velvet Coats

Saved because: Stunning color palette from velvet painter coats by Parisian label Casey Casey. Somehow earthen yet somehow reminding me of a dessert. No notes.

David Bowie by Claude Van Heye, 1977

Saved because: I come back to photos of David during this period often for style inspiration. It’s when he released two of his three ‘Berlin Trilogy’ albums, and when his aesthetics were at their most minimal. What he’s wearing here is wonderfully formulaic: a graphic t-shirt, high-waisted trousers, clogs and a touch of jewelry. Here, he was promoting Heroes.

Painting by Murray Clarke at J2 Art Advisory

Saved because: I’ve been drawn again and again to this style of contemporary painting that evokes daily life but almost in an anonymous way. I came across painter Murray Clarke, who captures this style perfectly through the repetition of a figure’s stance. Good stuff.

Christian Dior x Vogue Greece Outtake by Daniel Aires

Saved because: How wonderful would this be in large format print in an English country home? The styling of the Dior rose shoe with white, dotted tights and visited by this sweet yellow canary is something out of a Tim Walker dream world.

Maison Margiela S/S 2000

Saved because: I revisit this collection every couple of years. Though I was only approaching age 8 at the time of this presentation, looking back as an adult, it feels like the perfect response to the end of the ‘90s, and it’s funny to see how relevant these looks still are. The models wore stripped back looks of almost all basic garments: blazers, oxford shirts, boots, flats, frock dresses. It’s a great reminder of what to wear when you feel like somehow, despite a closet full of clothes, you have no idea what to put on! I’m currently stuck on this look, an oversized t-shirt layered with a silk slip, paired with cowboy boots. I’d wear the shit out of this look!!!

Whether you’re more of a minimal dresser or maximalist, jewelry always has a place. It tells a story and adds character. I like to think of my jewelry collection as my treasure box. I’ve collected many pieces over the years and hope to continue doing so… my dream selections of which you see in my curations below from some of my favorite designers on my radar. Mosquito

Mosquito is easily at the top of my wishlist right now. For the past yearish, I’ve seen images of the Spanish brand’s stunning beaded creations on my feed. You’ve most likely seen photos of their tortoiseshell hair pins or bead lariats on your Pinterest too, no doubt. What I like about Mosquito is how truly vintage these pieces feel. While someone could look at their jewelry and think it’s simply minimalist, it actually has a strong art deco sense to it, which I love to see returning. They also use a mix of new and upcycled materials. The Mozza Necklace is reminding me of the eggs at Casa Dalí in the best way possible.

Juju Vera

I was at the Topanga Farmer’s Market earlier this year and a woman walked up wearing the most insane silver shell necklace pendant. At first, I thought it was vintage, and then an image of it crossed, you guessed it, my Pinterest feed. I soon found out the designer is Juju Vera, and it was her Petra Necklace.

Based in New York and designed by Julia Ferentinos, I was immediately drawn to Juju Vera because of its antiquarian aesthetic. I like when jewelry feels inspired by ancient artifacts, but don’t outwardly look like them… if that makes sense? I never want my jewelry to feel cheesy, and JV designs absolutely never feel cheesy. They’re right out of an estate sale meets archaeological dig, featuring precious stones, and a bit of modernism and mythology mixed together.

Jenny Bird

I first discovered Jenny Bird through my sweet friend Corbo. She has generously gifted me several times, and the brand has easily become an everyday staple, and many of my base layer pieces are from Jenny Bird. The Canadian brand is an excellent source for pieces you can wear everyday, and that can handle a bit of wear and tear too (in fact, many of their pieces are water resistant!)

JB pieces are primarily done in classic silver and gold, which I’ve been more keen to mix as of late. I’ve been following the brand and they’ve really been pushing in terms of design, recently coming out with the whimsical yet (hopefully nobody will censure me for saying) chic Swirls collection for high summer. They are also big proponents of brooches, which I still think need to be more of a thing! I’ve been wearing my brooch from their new collection just on a white t-shirt with pants, and it’s lovely. I also wear my Gia Bangle nearly everyday.

Vertigo

I have seriously been on a bead quest for the last few months, and what finally satiated it (just kidding, it’s never fully satisfied) was a stunning lemon jasper bracelet from a small brand called Vertigo. I discovered the brand through At Present, which is honestly an excellent way to discover new jewelry designers, and knew I had to have the bracelet immediately.

What first caught me about the brand are the semiprecious and sourced materials they design with. Their ethos is very clearly tied to the earth, looking they belong at a flea market in Sedona or a gem show. Their website is curated by color, of which they have endless natural stone options, with product photography as stunning as the designs. They source vintage Tibetan silver and add semiprecious stones to them, creating pieces that almost look medieval. J’adore.

I really couldn’t choose which color to get in the beaded bracelet, but ultimately landed on lemon jasper because I liked the properties (it is said to hold joy and optimism), and the color felt bright enough while still being a neutral. When I got it in the mail, I was really amazed by its weight and heft. This isn’t just some run of the mill chunky bracelet, and the pricing made total sense. Hoping I can add one of their beaded collars to my repertoire next…

Dorsey

I feel like everyone probably knows Dorsey, but maybe you don’t! launched Dorsey in 2019, and it has quickly become one of the most accessible ways to wear diamonds. I met Megan a few times as I was coming up in the marketing world, where she spent many years as a brand exec. She has just has that innate sense of style you want to know about and recreate, a true je nais sais quoi. Dorsey, in turn, has become the queen of that exact feeling.

I’m drawn to Dorsey for a few reasons. For folks who aren’t able to buy diamonds every day, it is an excellent option. Then, if you can afford diamonds, you can easily graduate price-wise. I really wear my Lucien Earrings nearly every day, and my lab-grown tennis bracelet is a close second. I also believe she’s brought back more of a classic style of jewelry, the kind that feels like it’s from your mom or grandma’s jewelry box, but without feeling old or stuffy. Over the last few years, Dorsey has begun introducing more seasonal collections too, going internet viral with their paracord jewelry and doing a colorful enamel collection for summer 2026 paired with stones. Nothing ever feels overly trendy, which is something I think we are all being drawn toward more and more.

Justine Menard

Justine Menard is a jewelry and homewares designer who specializes in glass. I first saw one of her dreamy creations on, you guessed it, Pinterest, last year. My best guess was that the brooch was vintage or somehow one-of-a-kind. Alas, I am happy to report, it is not! I was enlightened when I saw post a video about her pieces from Justine, and they look even more gorgeous than in a still photo.

While I admittedly am concerned if I acquire some of her pieces that I’d immediately break or drop them, they must be somewhat sturdy if they’re wearables. If I had to describe the French designer’s aesthetic, it is deeply whimsical, poetic and inspired by nature, though her work is not without finesse. Similar to Mosquito, I see a certain bygone era in her work, shapes and forms I could see on display in turn-of-the-century Paris, especially her homewares which are in a league of their own. These glass bookends? Are you joking?

Chanel F/W ‘26 Red Rose Brocade

Saved because: Of all of the Chanel F/W ‘26 looks that came down the runway, my personal favorite was Look 12, featuring a red rose brocade (or tulips?? I can’t quite tell). I’ve been delighted to see the print beginning to make its rounds, recently on Gracie Abrams as part of our new album promo, styled by Spencer Singer, and in a custom suit version for Harry Styles, styled by Harry Lambert.

Sorry to Hazza, but his custom looks for this tour look better and much cooler on the fit model…there’s just a cheese to Harry now that I can’t get over? But the looks are excellent. IMO the print is a sleeper hit of the collection…I wonder if we’ll see any bags or shoes featuring this stunning pattern.

Earrings by Completed Works

Saved because: I’ve never been much of a nature girl or naturalist by any means. You won’t see me going on major hikes or outdoor adventures, but that doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate my earthly surroundings. In these past months, I’ve especially grown fond of natural stones and wearing them as jewelry. It began with my yellow jasper bead bracelet from Vertigo, and now I’m hooked. The colors and patterns of natural stones done right can really pull a look together.

London-based design studio Completed Works recently posted these absolutely stunning mismatched earrings made from onyx and agate. They are the ‘Trace of the Infinite’ and ‘Time Will Say Nothing But I Told You So’ pairs. The names are just as good as the earrings. Also, have you seen this insane blue resin “iceberg” necklace they’ve done? Channeling early aughts Margiela colored melting ice necklaces…

Christy Turlington in Vogue 1993 Photographed by Ellen Von Unwerth

Saved because: I’ve always been obsessed with this image of Christy Turlington. The straw blonde wig, the matching hat, looking like the most fashionable woman at the harvest festival. While scrolling this week, I finally found the full spread that this image came from, called “The Great Plain,” which was an ode to Amish country in Pennsylvania. While I see that, the images actually portray a French, gamine sensibility that is the ethos of my own style. Magnifique. This is also an image from the shoot of model Jaime Rishar, which when I pinned it originally a while back, I actually thought it was literally an unknown French actress from the Godard days. It’s always fun when things like this happen.

Architect Ray Kappe’s Living Room

Saved because: Honestly, this is a reminder to explore the many architectural gems we have here in Los Angeles… This is an image of the Kappe House, famously designed and lived in by architect Ray Kappe. It’s currently for sale, or was as of February, to one lucky buyer. I’m obsessed with the blue furniture against the natural wood that makes up the bones of the home, and the open levels that show off each room versus closing everything in with walls.

Phoebe Philo’s Neapolitan Jacket

Saved because: I saw miss PP released a few new pieces this week. While I’ll only ever be able to truly window shop her namesake line, I can still appreciate the details. Enter, the Neapolitan Jacket. It’s a classic, oversized boxy blazer, but it has this perfect flipped down detail on the sleeve cuff. It’s the details like these that ultimately signifies luxury. At the same time, the mohair fabric has a purposeful wrinkle to it, which reminds me that Phoebe isn’t taking things too seriously, and neither am I. Really an excellent piece.

Radish Chandelier Sculpture by Flur London + Studio Boum for Hermès

Saved because: As you know, I’m a huge fan of folks like Laila Gohar and artists who do indeed, play with their food, and reimagine how food can take shape around us as something to engage with. This hanging radish “chandelier” is from a recent Hermès activation in London celebrating their new Bond St boutique, where Flur London took various vegetables and transformed them into artworks. Mentally bookmarking this idea for my future 35th birthday party in two years…just saying.

Images and musings for the week ending 8/1/26.

Alexei Hay Jewelry x Leandra Medine Cohen Fine Romani Cuffs

Saved because: I’ve had this stack of Alexei Hay’s collaborative silver bangles with Leandra Medine saved on my Pinterest for weeks. If you see any outfit photo from Leandra, she is typically wearing one. I’m not sure when they first came out, but LMC has always been someone I’ve followed sheerly for her ability to style her insane jewelry collection.

These cuffs are truly what dreams are made of, coming in at minimum $4k a pop. They’re inlaid with diamonds, gemstone cabochons of all kinds, finished in gold bezels. Honestly, forget a $10k Chanel bag, I want one of these. (JK I’d like both, oops.)

Living Room at Villa Cléo Canadel in St. Tropez Photographed by Giulio Ghirardi

Saved because: I came across Villa Cléo in my scrolls this week and immediately loved how this living room at the St. Tropez home felt modern yet (positively) stuck in the 1970s. The room looks like it could be straight out of Luca Guadagnino’s A Bigger Splash, with the white wash walls and stone floor. The built in couch is definitely a choice in the leaf fabric, but somehow, it works, offset the midcentury bookshelves, coffee table and futon. The book and art curation is superb, I love the line of portraits along the walls. See more images of the home here.

Céramiques de Picasso Prints by Georges and Suzanne Ramié, Published by Albert Skira (1948)

Saved because: Picasso’s ceramics are more compelling to me than most of his paintings. Ceramics are a medium I am deeply drawn to, I love seeing an artists’s clear POV like Picasso’s unleashed onto an earthenware form. He crated just over 600 pieces in his lifetime with Madoura Pottery Studio in France that incorporated Picasso’s signature animals, faces, and errant forms.

He began ceramics after the second world war, and continued soon up until his death. I found these prints of his ceramics from a 1948 edition chronicling his work at Madoura Pottery Studio, famously owned by Georges and Suzanne Ramié. This flat lay of prints is now inspiring a color palette for my wardrobe and home… Apparently these lithographic prints are quite valuable, and would look lovely arranged on a wall. If a pricey print isn’t in the cards, I have this wonderful book with wonderful photographs of his pieces.

Chanel S/S ‘26 Trousers Captured by Sasha Marro, Styled by Johanna Ankelhed

Saved because: You might think this is an ordinary pair of trousers. Well, it is. But if there’s one thing I’ve been enamored with since Monsieur Blazy took the helm at Chanel nearly a year ago, it’s been his ability to work in the brand’s signature double C logo into pieces without it feeling gaudy, cheesy, tacky… you choose your word.

We’ve seen it at the back of trousers like the houndstooth pair above, or via a gold logo at the neck of a pullover or on a jacket, or even in the stitching on a pair of wide leg jeans. It’s another way the house’s new creative director continues to redefine the house codes in his own way. It’s the touch of craft that makes that piece unique and thus, Chanel.

Tim Walker for W Magazine, 2012

Saved because: I’ve been spending more time on Tim Walker’s Instagram again lately. He’s really one of my heroes. In the age of AI, his sharing of BTS and thought processes from his shoots and creations over the years is truly a salve for the soul. (I actually wrote about it last May in a post, and it reminded me to return to his posts.)

This image of gloriously large cherry blossom branches amongst 17th century furniture and musical instruments abound caught my eye this week. It’s from a 2012 issue of W Magazine, which I feel I probably at one point held in my hands many moons ago. The editorial is called “Magical Thinking” and mostly features Walker’s photographs of Spring 2012 pieces styled in a rather ethereal manner by Jacob K. The shoot also features incredible interior still lifes, of which only Walker’s mind could conjure. Shop Walker’s Wonderful Things book here.

Manuela Pavesi’s Vacation Hair, Vogue Italia (1986)

Saved because: Remember everyone going crazy over The Row’s multiple hair comb styling by Guido Palau for S/S ‘26 not so long ago? I raise you this image from 1986, styled by the incomparable late Manuela Pavesi, a longtime collaborator and friend of Miuccia Prada and a Vogue Italia editor. Photographed by Albert Watson, it easily could be from today, the bright blue, late evening sky paired with a loosened khaki trench is striking. Heaven knows I need this many pins to hold my amount of hair up!

When my husband and I got Smooch almost two years ago, I knew she was a special dog from the moment we got her, a pure terrier and most importantly, a goofball at heart. She can be a little bit of a diva, and I suppose her internet coverage might be feeding her ego, lol. I think people are drawn to her because her breed, Wire Fox Terrier, is not seen very often. Everyone thinks she’s a schnauzer or sometimes a Doodle? She also, to be fair, truly does look like a cartoon with a personality to match.

The other day, I texted my best friend, “SOS, obsessed with my dog.” It’s true. I am obsessed with her. She’s my shadow, our best friend, as most pet owners can attest to. In the two years I’ve been a dog owner, we’ve amassed some favorite items, or what in our house we refer to as Smooch’s Smoochables. From the products I love for her along with an edit of other pet-friendly household items on my list, please enjoy this edition of The Shoppies.

• We’ve been fans of Little Beast since day one. I love their leather collars and leashes. Smooch’s main leash is the red Flower Power Leash with little floral grommets. For her collar, because she’s my rock and roll star, she wears the Cowboy Collar in Midnight. It has silver stars and feels very British punk (bc she is) and she has to have something akin to my well-worn Vivienne Westwood Alex Belt ;).

• When we’re traveling, she wears a Barbour harness. She may be from California, but she’s got that English blood! I love their dog collars, too.

• I also have a Snoopy Joe Cool version of this tiny Boat and Tote poop bag from Little Beast, bc it’s just too silly. This colorway is fun and reminds me of Lily Pulitzer in the best way.

• While we’re on the subject of collars, I came across these rainbow jewel and stud ones from 67 Jewelry. I think I need to get this one for Smooch for a little variation from her star collar.

• For shampoos, I’ve been loving the Dedcool Pet Shampoo lately. It lathers so, so well and makes her coat feel extra clean. To add a little extra moisture to her wiry coat, I like Biche’s Apres Oil. (If we’re feeling extra fancy, bc the Biche products honestly feel like they should be for me!) We have yet to try a dry shampoo, but I’m interested in this one from Lil Luv Dog.

• I don’t have a fancy grooming brush, but if I DID, this Officine Universelle Buly pet brush is the goal for when I eventually return to Paris (or just order it online). The little engraved dog that looks like my dog? Plus obviously I’d get her name on it.

• While grooming is the least ~ glam ~ topic, we keep around Coterie’s “The Wipe” and Earth Rated Grooming Wipes. An easy find at your local Target.

• We brush Ms. Girl’s teeth with this enzymatic toothpaste that honestly helps her breath sooo much!

• I also like Native Pet for their assorted chews. I’ve been trying out their Calming Chews for a while (Smooch sometimes has too much energy…jk she always has too much energy) and their all-natural Allergy Chews for itchy skin and nipping.

• Speaking of too much energy, I recently bought something called a “flirt pole” that is literally like a camera tripod except you can put a rope toy on the end. I run around the background with her as an alt to playing with the ball. She chases it around and jumps high to get the rope. It definitely helps with her prey drive. Would probably be good for herding breeds, too! This FIFA football version made me giggle. Look how pleased the Golden Retriever in the PDP is.

• I couldn’t write this newsletter without shouting out Fren Goods, the most precious pet wear company from Aisha Ross. Smooch has a version of Aisha’s Wanda Collar for when she’s feeling fancy. I also love the bandanas and other pieces she’s developed over the last year. Her new Pool Pawty collection is so goddamn cute! Last year during her holiday pop up, we got a very sweet Christmas ornament with Smooch’s name on it, and I obviously had to get one for ’s pup Lola Jean, too. I hope she has another one this year!

• Finally, of course, where the principessa sleeps. I have an espresso brown cuddler that she loves, plus it matches the rug in my living room, and a bolster bed too. I’m in love with Block Shop’s new dog beds and have always loved these color block versions from HAY too.

Alexander McQueen S/S ‘2000 in i-D, Dec 1999

Saved because: I’ve always been fascinated by armor. Some people may find it one of the more boring sections of a museum to see, but not for me. Looking at a piece of armor requires you to mentally go through the thought of, someone actually wore this, and fought in it? And to that end, some of the decorative arts done for these incredible medieval and renaissance era armor sets are truly lost to time. I’m a big medievalist at heart, and I’ve always been drawn to this Alexander McQueen piece from S/S 2000, which I recently came across again the form of this tear from an old i-D editorial, shot by David Slipper in Dec 1999.

It was commissioned to jewelry designer Shaun Leane by Lee McQueen for said show, and now lives in the Met’s permanent collection. It’s actually a more medieval-inspired take on a Yashmak, a popular face covering for women during the later stages of the Ottoman Empire, which I didn’t know until now!

Ginny Sims Ceramics Vase

Saved because: There are probably about a dozen ceramicists I want to have amongst my homewares, Ginny Sims being one of them. I’ve followed her for years but have never purchased anything. Perhaps that time will come soon. She recently posted these new pieces in brown and black with little floral motifs that almost look like collage. I’m keeping an eye on her web shop so I don’t miss them!

The Prada F/W ‘26 (Muted) Rainbow

Saved because: Unfortunately, I am not much of a summer girl. My mind is perennially on cool weather and layers. Though it probably won’t be actually cold in Los Angeles until November (maybe late October if we’re lucky), I saved this swipe from The Broken Arm, who now has Prada’s fall menswear offering in store. I’ve been obsessed with this collection since it was revealed this past January, and the muted color palette is one I look forward to incorporating into my fall-winter wares this year. That mustard up front and third pink look—the trench—is my dream coat!

Serge Gainsbourg’s Repetto Jazz Shoes

Saved because: It may have been last summer when I read It Girl by Marisa Meltzer, but I remember somewhere the mention of Jane Birkin buying Serge pairs of the white jazz shoes from Repetto from baskets at the time back in the ‘70s…funny to think of how expensive and iconic the shoes are now, even being the shoe on Michael Rider’s debut CELINE runway. (Personally, I love the heel on the Zizi from Repetto.)

I saved this image of his worn out shoes from AnOther Magazine’s coverage of his daughter Charlotte Gainsbourg’s debut photography exhibition, which features images from his famous Rue Verneuil home in Paris. For me, it is maybe one of the most memorable pairs of shoes in fashion and culture, and this image would be wonderful framed.

I bought a copy of a French Bazaar a few years ago that had images of the space, but Charlotte’s photos capture it in a new light. It’s a place I hope to pay a visit to one day, if those walls could talk, right?

(FYI, Ref has a good dupe of the Zizi right now, a hair less expensive.)

Bobine Glass Lamp in Red & Green (Via Jessica Helgerson Design)

Saved because: This image caught my eye while on Pinterest this week. The contrast between the modernist lamp and its colors to the dark wood surface, worn leather pencil cup and silver mail holder and the painting behind it is so lovely. The lamp is a Bobine lamp, which are handblown by artisans in Portland. You can choose your shade color too to pair with the red base. I love this green milk glass and red combo.

Dior Men S/S ‘27 Crochet Tote

Saved because: 10/10 would carry this as my everyday work tote. It’s yet another wonderful, zany creation from the mind of Jonathan Anderson for Dior Men. The knits in this past collection were particularly good, and this standout granny chic bag is no exception.

Picture this: It’s 2011, and I’m driving from the valley down to LMU to see a friend. I’m seeing Arctic Monkeys play at the Hollywood Bowl that weekend. I plan to wear a Peter Pan collar Opening Ceremony dress, brown with a black collar. The other plans I had that afternoon? Head over to the Madewell at the Century City mall to see which Alexa Chung collaboration pieces I can grab IRL, there was a major hoopla around the collection. I remember I found the palm tree-print dress, a pair of the pony hair block heel boots in black, and located a few others online, including a suede moto jacket. I was no doubt getting ready to feature them on my blog, Obsessee, which I started in December 2008, and later sold to the founders of Who What Wear.

Alexa had been on my radar since 2009, when she had her short-lived and sadly ill-fated MTV show, where she was known for wearing kohl cat eyeliner, tights with cutoffs, and chunky sweaters while interviewing guests with a certain erudite manner and sensibility nobody else had. She was the girl everyone wanted to be: front row at Chanel runway shows and NYFW, dating Alex Turner, at every music festival that mattered, always with the coolest nail art, hanging out with an incredible ensemble of friends… it was everything a girl could ever want.

In high school and college, she influenced nearly everything I did, exhibit A being my clothing choices, finding the exact Topshop dresses she’d worn at Glastonbury or sunglasses she’d been wearing, purchasing Peter Pan collar dresses galore, the Bella Freud sweaters, exhibit B (images redacted) hair choices from the latest shots of her at Paris Fashion Week, music taste, even down to my nail art, you name it.

I’d come across her in person at Coachella one year, and a few times during my tenure as a baby social editor at Who What Wear, always in awe of her, dilligently taking notes of how her style was changing, evolving, and how I could adapt my own. While I worked at Lisa Says Gah during the pandemic, we gifted her a pair of dungarees, and she posted them a few times. I was truly starstruck, even though we were just communicating via the brand’s DMs.

You could say I approached finding pieces of the Alexa Chung for Madewell collaboration back in 2011 (this was her second) with a level of intent that was very high. I had to have the pieces, or else. When her book It was released, it was like a bible was coming out, we’d learn everything about her. wrote an excellent piece on the book, actually interviewing Alexa for W, back in 2022. (Worth a read). What I was always in pursuit of, of course, was a piece of Alexa’s taste. Always a bit gamine with a French flare, an element of signature Britishness.

Then, it was about emulating her, having what she has. Now, Alexa’s become a guide for me as I’ve grown up—how does one evolve their own style, especially in such an influencer and trend-focused world? In my opinion, Alexa has been able to transcend the label of influencer, and is the true definition of a tastemaker and It Girl who is confident in herself and her sartorial stylings.

Now, at 43 (she’s 10 years my senior), Alexa is showing what it means to grow into your own stylistic point of view as we age. In such a satured world of folks constantly sharing outfit ideas and style tips, women like Alexa stand out to me as north stars because they actually still feel real, effortless, and dress true to themselves. She’s someone who isn’t afraid to wear something out of her comfort zone or experiment.

Alexa has gone from being emblematic of the indie sleaze era to being a muse for brands like Chloé and Miu Miu, in ad campaigns and even walking runway shows. I admire her present-day style and how it’s developed over the last 5-10 years: she’s still quintessentially British with that ‘60s inspiration from Jane Birkin and Charlotte Rampling, but as she’s entered her 40s, Alexa is embracing new ways of dressing and inspiring others, like myself, who have followed her for as long as I have to do the same. Her brand collaborations have shown that too, creating pieces that feel timeless yet now. Over the years, I’ve added a few pieces from her short-lived namesake line to my closet and items from several of her collabs with Barbour and recently Madewell (again).

As I write about often in regards to my own style, I identify with Alexa because she straddles the line of feminine and masculine dressing so well. For her 40th birthday, she wore a wildly cool latex column dress, and has been walking red carpet events in stunning couture gowns, like her Met Gala Dior Haute Couture dress, styled by Danielle Goldberg. At the same time, she can pull off a full Miu Miu menswear look, an excellent granny-esque Prada dress from F/W ‘25, or a lacy YSL number. Even in her street style moments or her new hilarious yet perfect doorbell camera series, everything she does feels inspired

Thank you, Alexa, for continuing to teach me and inspire me to experiment, and just have fun with clothes. These are a few style lessons she’s taught me, and how can you adapt them into your own closet with an edit to get you started. xx

Don’t Leave Home Without Your Navy Jumper

• In the article Alexa wrote for British Vogue sharing 40 pearls of wisdom for her 40th birthday, her first piece of advice was: “Wherever I travel, I always regret not packing a navy blue sweater.” If she’s taught me any style lesson, it’s literally this. You can wear it on it’s own, layer it, wear it as a scarf situation, throw it over a coat, wrap it around your head like a snood, use it as a pillow on a plane… etc. It’s also my favorite thing to wear when I don’t know what else to wear, paired with a white tee, jeans, ballet flats or loafers. Hot tip: Purchasing the sweater oversized or from the men’s section is always a good idea.

Denim Never Fails as a Base

• Alexa wears denim as the foundational piece for most of her on-the-go looks. It’s usually a straight leg, never too long, save for a more recent baggy moment at a Miu Miu event earlier this year (bottom right). Go for a classic boot cut or 501. She also styles white jeans particularly well, and loved this turn with a red high-waisted pair.

• My picks: Levi’s 501 90s Jeans in Ecru White, Levi’s 501 90s Lightweight Jeans, Madewell Low-Slung Baggy Crop Jean in Red, Mother Denim The Dodger Button Flood Jean

The Outerwear Is the Outfit

• Alexa, a British native, naturally has excellent taste in outerwear. She’s had at least two Barbour collabs, and boasts a collection of very, very good coats and jackets. Time and time again, she proves that the jacket can and sometimes should be the focus of the outfit.

• These are a few semi-recent looks of hers, featuring a Simone Rocha leather coat with red jewels, a Chloé blazer worn with a belt, a red trench from her last Barbour collab, and what I think is either a Prada or Miu Miu canvas work jacket.

• Some pro tips for finding a good trench if you want to buy second hand: search the color you’re interested in on Poshmark or The Real Real plus a brand like Burberry, Land’s End, Ralph Lauren, etc. A lot of Alexa’s Barbour collab coats are on resale sites, too. You’ll usually find pretty good deals.

• My picks, from classic trenches to ultra special pieces, I could go on…I have too many jackets for a person born in and living in LA, lol: Damson Madder Anja Reversible Trench (this is a need), Donni Daisy Coat, Bode Hearts Welding Jacket, Sezane Clyde Coat (you really can’t ever go wrong with this), Barbour Kennedy Jacket, Sea Patch Detailed Work Jacket, Massimo Dutti Suede Lapel Blazer, Mango Leather Parka, (DREAM) Acne Studios Leather Bomber Jacket, and finally, Simone Rocha Double-Breasted Pearl-Embellished Trench

Sunglasses, Never Optional

• A detail that Alexa never leaves out is a good pair of sunglasses. I would agree. She’s usually a big fan of Thistles pairs these days, as are most ~ cool girls.~~

• Sunglasses have always made an outfit feel complete for me, and let you play with different personalities. Alexa’s always experimenting with shapes and sizes, like the sporty red S/S ‘26 Miu Miu pair, or testing out the sold-out everywhere Thistles trending Atlas wraparound style. I’ve also seen her go for more granny-inspired ‘70s oversized frames, which I think I’m finally warming up to after so many years of enduring the tiny sunglasses trend.

Sneak In Feminine Details

• Alexa’s always done dresses well, but in recent years, she’s playing around what it means to dress like a woman. Even if she’s not wearing a full blown gown, she’ll incorporate a little lace here or there or a ladylike shoe, or she’ll opt for an unexpected pairing, like a Barbour and a slip dress, as she’s been known to do at Glasto.

• Or, Alexa will go with more “sexy’ pieces like a patent leather go-go boot with a Prada mini prairie dress. A favorite look of hers was the Simone Rocha x Adidas track jacket with negligé shorts and Miu Miu heels, upper left. It’s really all about layering pieces that don’t feel expected together.

Color Isn’t Scary—Promise!

• The woman is not afraid of color! And I love that. I’ve expressed this in previous articles, but I just really think we should embrace color more! It can be done in a cool, non-garish way, and Alexa is really nailing that.

• Maybe it’s a burgundy track pant here, a jewel-tone oxford shirt there. Or, if you’re feeling more experimental, go for a look in full color, like Alexa’s fab Miu Miu two-piece leather moment or the brocade Prada dress from last fall (a girl can dream). A few ideas on how to add some cheeky color to your closet in an AC-approved way…

A Stripe Is A Basic. Hear Me Out.

• Stripes are non-negotiable in Alexa’s closet, as they should be. She’s pretty much the queen of a good striped jumper, picking patterns that feel vintage, hard to find and foundational to her wardrobe.

• A stripe can absolutely be a basic and a cornerstone of an outfit, you just have to pair them with the right materials and not too many other prints. Think distressed leather jackets, a long car coat, a good pair of jeans. A few of my favorite striped sweater looks of hers are above. I know it’s summer, but here are a few striped knit finds you might consider adding to your rotation come cold weather…

Invest In a Good Knee Length Skirt

• Last but not least, Alexa’s become a proponent of the knee-length skirt, something I fully support. It’s an excellent alt base piece of a look if you’re not in the mood to wear jeans or a dress. It feels particularly Prada-influenced, likely because Alexa was seen wearing one from the S/S ‘25 collection (lower left), which can only be a good thing.

• It’s another silhouette she’s playing with these days, pairing more structured skirts with button-downs (or one worn backwards, j’adore), she did a great leather wrap skirt (which is on super sale, run, don’t walk) for her 2025 Madewell collab, or opting for a more simple slip-skirt vibe.

The Art of Layering in The Gentlewoman Issue 33

Saved because: I bought the current issue of The Gentlewoman with Solange as the cover star back in March, and these images instantly caught my eye. I love the torso framing, it reminds me of trying to take the perfect shot of your outfit in the car, lol. Shot by Janneke Van der Hagen and styled by Stuart Williamson, ‘Get Set’ features excellent layering from the spring collections and killer jewelry. Chose this Martine Rose rugby shot as it felt appropriate with the World Cup final on this week ;). Would wear this outfit urgently.

Striped Piaget Watches

Saved because: The inlay on each of these watches instantly reminded me of a bag of licorice allsorts. Because if something doesn’t remind you of candy, is it even worth your time? But really, these vintage Piaget watches are from the 1970s, and the stone faces are referred to as a “maze” style. If you have £12k, the leather strap one could be yours! I’ll keep dreaming…

Josef Frank Lamp, Early 20th Century

Saved because: This is a recent pin I keep coming back to. Though its from over 100 years ago, it feels so entirely modern. The hue of the shades are calling me. When it comes to lighting, I’m finding myself drawn to soft, fabric shades versus too much structure. This creation is so whimsical and would feel at home in a library or reading room.

Earth Girls by Tim Walker, Dec 1998

Saved because: Glastonbury is 100% a bucket list item for me. The famous English festival is on its break this year, with the return set for 2027 at Worthy Farm. In general, my style is heavily influenced by British culture, and the fashion that comes out of Glasto is up there. I always love the ability to take make high/low work, and this shoot from the late 90s by Tim Walker perfectly captures that. I could totally see Alexa Chung wearing this (now) vintage John Galliano crystal dress with wellies and a work jacket. She also kind of did that for Burberry’s festival campaign last year. Love. Still obsessed with Alexa’s yellow silk Doen moment, too. The brand still has a similar-ish version of it here.

Marni Pre-Fall Kitten Heels

Saved because: I’ve been urgently awaiting Meryll Rogge’s first Marni pieces to hit the market. Her Fall 2026 debut is what the weird girls like myself have urgently been waiting for, and this pair of lace-up kitten heels doesn’t disappoint. If I had a spare $1400 right now, I would 100% be purchasing these. The laces are the perfect detail to “quirk” up a slingback.

Floral Braided Hair at Kenzo F/W ‘11

Saved because: This braided hair moment at Kenzo F/W ‘11 feels like the perfect transition between summer and fall. The earth tones of the silk flowers are the ideal palette. Found via , who always has the most wonderful floral inspiration <3 and stories.

During his time at Bottega Veneta, Blazy was known for creating relatable, wearable collections with injections of artistic energy and a touch of whimsy. Remember his Gaetano Pesce chairs and runway for S/S ‘23, or the animal bean bags, giant Richard Scarry books and leather-woven flower bouquets two years ago? At Bottega, he used the house’s signature woven leather intrecciato as a medium quite frequently, along with leather itself. (How can we forget the $7,000 plaid shirt made of leather?)

Bottega Veneta, as we’ve seen so many now decades-old designer houses become, has had a revolving door of creative directors come through. In my opinion, it’s hard to really make a lasting impression when the tenure of a designer is so short. That brings me to where Matthieu Blazy is now: Chanel.

There is zero explanation needed for the gravitas of Chanel or the mantle it holds as the ultimate in fashion, which we can thank Karl Lagerfeld for. Over his nearly 40 years at the house, Lagerfeld maintained Chanel’s relevancy up until his death. Even while he designed for Fendi and Chloe for many years, Chanel continued to be the main client in his portfolio, creating cultural relevance and season after season, introducing must-have items for collectors and those of us who just wanted a small piece.

Virginie Viard, Lagerfeld’s longtime second-in-command tried to match Lagerfeld, beginning with Resort 2020 and ending with Fall 2025 Couture. There were highlights, but eventually, what Viard created lost its freshness quite quickly, and by the end of her tenure, there was no spark left. In a review of her Fall 2022 Couture collection, Hamish Bowles aptly said her collections “reflect the pragmatic needs and desires of the house’s clients and her own eclectic but never fantastical sources of inspiration.” Prior to Blazy’s official arrival, The Independent called Chanel’s style “stereotypical.”

Fast forward to the Spring 2025 collections, Blazy’s planetary set in the Grand Palais, and the Chanel-mania that has ensued. We’ve seen him take themes thus far like fairy tales, primary-colored cranes, New York City, and the beaches of Biarritz and transform them into some of the best fashion we’ve seen in decades, no doubt improving business for Chanel but also bringing a much-needed spectacle back for fashion history nerds such as myself.

He’s reinventing a centenarian house’s codes in real time, using his unique vision alongside the resources a brand like Chanel has, specifically their le19M complex, which I wrote about back in December in my piece on savoir-faire.

In a world of beige, greige, and what often feels like lifeless minimalism, I’m deeply excited to see how he continues the dedication to craft and redfining these signatures in years to come. (All this to say, minimalism with a strong POV can still be really good, hi, Phoebe Philo or Michael Rider at CELINE.)

My only caveat is that I hope to see MB continue to experiment with codes vs repeat them over and over without variation. Then, you fall into a trap. And we know, with six or more collections a year at these houses, it’s a lot on both designer and team. Let’s break down what Blazy and the petit mains have been up to!

(Let me also tell you it was near impossible to choose four images to represent each of these codes and elements!!)

Reinventing the Cap Toe

• Footwear and bags were the lowest hanging fruit for Chanel’s comeback. Over the years, I have been very fortunate in being able to purchase several pairs of Chanel shoes, and they’re my “gateway” into a collection, as I imagine they are for many consumers.

• As we saw for S/S ‘26, Blazy introduced several new silhouettes and continues to iterate on them. Most notably bringing in a square or more pointed version of the cap toe, or, what’s become another popular style, a glove-shoe style pump with a “dip” of a cap toe.

• My favorite shoe has to be the square toe pump with a block heel. The shape is very Working Girl, but it’s been updated with animal prints and painterly shades of patent leather.

• Finally, while they’ll likely never be produced, MB has been playing with fantastical, molded heels (quite Loewe of him, tbh) in both Haute Couture seasons thus far. They’re absolutely beautiful, some more nutty than others, I do hope we see some variation in this regard, in that we saw the same shoe silhouette for spring as we did fall.

A Moment for the Dress

• This has been the area of MB’s Chanel that I immediately noticed as a new constant. The return of a GOOD dress.

• A singular, gorgeously crafted garment presents the most opportunity for the house, as for years, many celebrities were at the behest of wearing frumpy red carpet looks or just bad design as house ambassadors. Margot, Marion, Kristen and Tilda all managed to do it well, but it’s so refreshing to see more variation in what Chanel can mean when it comes to dressmaking.

• Ayo Edebiri, Lupitia Nyong’o, Jessie Buckley, Kendall Jenner and Maya Rudolph (to name just a few of the now very long Chanel roster) have been at the forefront of Chanel’s new dress era. More, please!

Of Course Denim is Couture, Too

• Denim is another material that’s long been part of Chanel’s repertoire, seen in various ways over the years from both on the runway to accessories. Sometimes feeling cool, but often coming off as bulky or even cheesy (sorry to PF 2019 Look 37…)

• Blazy has made denim relevant again for the house, showing a silk, printed version of “jeans” as Haute Couture back in January (Margot Robbie then wore the look and it also appeared at the Met Gala).

• He’s continued to bring it into almost every collection thus far with an element of lightness for Haute Couture and in the Metiers d’Art versions, or covetable, as seen during the Cruise ‘27 runway. That train stripe work jacket is…oh wow.

• Teyana Taylor wore the trompe l’oeil sequin denim look to the F/W ‘26 Haute Couture show. There was simply no better suited person to wear the look.

Chains & Pearls

• Chanel’s chunky gold chains and strands of pearls have been part of the house since its inception.

• In the 80s and 90s, Karl Lagerfeld used chains as a main element in many collections, popularizing the black leather and gold chain belt as an accessory or layers of chain necklaces. (Check out images from Lagerfeld’s own Chanel debut in 1983 here.)

• Blazy has taken a much more delicate touch to this signature house code, incorporating chains subtly into S/S ‘26’s Charvet shirts and tweed skirts as an interesting way to do a hem.

• I love the notion of jewelry included in a garment versus having to wear it separately, which we saw in several looks for HC S/S ‘26 and F/W ‘26. My favorite look from this week’s show was the reinvented the quintessential Chanel ‘20s silhoeutte on the bottom right.

Tweed Experimentation

• If Chanel is known for anything, it’s tweed. It’s a fabric that is used in every collection from the house in various ways.

• Chanel works with Lesage to craft their fabrics, an artisanal workshop that specializes in tweed and embroidery.

• Since Blazy took his seat, he’s been showing unbelievably intricate fabrications, ranging from sequin versions for Cruise ‘27 or even the UNREAL fully beaded “tweed” suit from his debut last September.

• In the F/W ‘26 collection, there are these moments of tweed that feel ripped apart of torn away that I’m really into. Kind of reminds me of what Jonathan Anderson is doing with similar fabrics at Dior and even Prada’s upcoming fall offering, a bit of a meditation on how our clothes wear down, perhaps?

• A final incredible example is the bottom right, a detail from F/W ‘26 Haute Couture, an extremely complex weaving made of various materials, including wool, chains, and what even looks like metal thread. Whatever critics have to say about the collection, the absolute dedication to humanity in these collections is something to behold.

Boucle, Baby

• One of the first things I noticed out the gate from Blazy were these excellent boucle finishes on classic Chanel jackets and bottoms.

• My dream jacket from S/S ‘26, upper right, is my favorite example of this. It adds such a dimension to the signature Little Black Jacket that I haven’t seen before.

• The braided / twisted boucle element adds yet another layer of handcraft to each look, an opportunity for pattern play, incorporating more materials like chains, lurex yarn, etc. Or even just to accent a simple solid skirt, like in the upper left example. Very, very good!

And Finally, Bags

• And finally, the bags! The baaaags! Much like how I started this piece talking about Chanel’s footwear, bags are easily the first way in for many customers.

• Chanel definitely has big business with its array of bags that just want something designer—the 25, the 22, flap bags, etc—but MB has introduced quite a few new silhouettes that are going to make the house’s handbag lineup even more covetable.

• In just a year, he’s blown up signature silhouettes, taken a new look at the flap bag with the Shopper bag (lower left, and a really good alt to a Birkin, IMO), made the 2.55 out of metal, and is generally playing with a host of fun new shapes.

• My favorites are the thin shoulder bag you see on the lower right, and the quilted bucket bag from PF ‘26.

• For his first Haute Couture outing, Blazy even took the 2.55 flap bag and rendered it into silk chiffon, with hidden notes embroidered on it. Feels like a piece that should go into a museum one day, just saying!

• And last but not least, not pictured here, how could we forget the minaudières of it all? While these are fantastically expensive, these mini works of art have been beyond words and so creative. An acorn, an apple, a pomegranate, a nighttime sky, a peanut, the list goes on. Really exciting for collectors.

CELINE A/W 2026 for Vogue’s Summer Issue

Saved because: First of all, this week brought CELINE-mania (read my review of men’s fashion week here), but I’m still stuck on the purple trench Michael Rider presented for his fall womenswear collection. You could also say, I’m still stuck on being mentally ready for fall already (sorry, it’s just what I prefer to wear vs summer clothes!!). This shot from a recent Vogue spread featuring the collection is positively perfect.

This cool shade of purple has single-handedly made me fall back in love with the color, the reddish sweater underneath with symbols of the house, layered with a collared shirt is easy styling you can recreate yourself when the cold hits. Hayley Tompkins, Collar III, 2025

Saved because: Long live this Oxford shirt. I probably wear one at least 3-4x / week. This is a beautiful torn collar, painted by artist Hayley Tompkins from her series of shirt collars. I would certainly like to wear a full version of this.

Manolo Blahnik SS81 Captured by Eric Boman (via Penny Calder)

Saved because: I’m like a moth to a flame when it comes to Alexander Calder, so this beautiful shot of a vintage Manolo and a mini print caught my eye while on IG. It’s from the book Blahnik by Boman, a compendium of still life photographs by Eric Boman highlighting various MB creations over the years. I love the similarities captured in this one.

Deconstructed Yoke Trousers by Vi Marrazzo

Saved because: This incredible conceptual pair of trousers came across my explore page by designer Vi Marrazzo. They are (from what I could find) a student designer in Italy at Polimoda. The 3D trompe l’oeil moment is so good, feels very Margiela-inspired. Definitely peep their profile to check out their other designs, which play a lot with a lot of shirting and tailoring.

The Folk Art Collection of Steven Burke and Randy Campbell

Saved because: The colors and plinths are what immediately caught my eye. At first, it looks like it might be mistaken for your grandma’s Christmas village set of buildings, but it’s actually a vast, private collection of miniature buildings (over 1200) of a couple located in North Carolina. The photos were originally captured in a NYT article in 2014. Definitely worth taking a look at the full home gallery Steven Burke and Randy Campbell have put together. I love how something that could come across cheesy or too kitschy comes across as measured and so thoughtfully displayed.

Chanel F/W 2007 Metal Fringe Clutch Purse

Saved because: I pinned this image recently and actually thought it was from the recent Cruise 2027 collection. It could have seamlessly fit right in, the red dress behind it, too. But alas! It is 20 years old. F/W 2007 was the first Chanel collection that really got my attention when I was a pre-teen—the set had puffed clouds overhead, models wore their hair blown out but crimped, and it was a celebration of the house’s signature tweeds in magnificent jewel tones. What a little treasure box of a bag and a reminder of a collection I’ll always hold close.

I’ve noticed an interesting pattern in my own personal style in the last 5-6 years and even that of stylish women I follow online: we all want to be dressed like the boys. (Or maybe you just can’t ever get “Girls and Boys” by Blur out of your head, also me.) Exhibit A: see my good friend ’s piece she published yesterday. Same wavelength, anyone? There’s been a resurgence in the attention paid to what designers are offering for menswear lines in that time, rightfully so.

Last summer, I wrote about Michael Rider’s debut at CELINE (which was a co-ed show) and Jonathan Anderson’s debut at Christian Dior during the S/S ‘26 season. Both shows are still stuck in my head, as are the F/W ‘26 offerings. What Jonathan’s doing is of course more fantastical, arguably less wearable, though he has also managed to add his own signature wearability and a bit of Irish grit to what he’s doing at Dior Men.

Tons of celebrities have been wearing pieces from both lines, including Josh O’Connor in Dior for his recent press tour, and Harry Styles in custom CELINE for his latest gigs. Paul Mescal also wore a wonderful custom CELINE moment to something…perhaps the Oscars? Cool menswear-mania is alive and well. The boys might be having more fun than us girls, just saying.

Julian Klausner at Dries Van Noten has also been catching my attention for a few seasons now across both ranges, as have Simone Rocha’s menswear offerings. She’s been sprinkling in mens pieces and dressing some of my favorite musicians (hi, Fontaines D.C.) in the last few years, and actually kicked off the Spring 2027 season with a dedicated menswear show in Florence. (If you know me, I love nothing more than how Simona mixes hard/soft season after season.)

Finally, when it comes to menswear, Prada never disappoints me. Back in the old days, Prada menswear shows used to be where Mrs. Prada revealed women’s pre-collection looks too, and for the first time in a long time, she and Raf seamlessly blended women’s looks onto the S/S ‘27 runway, which felt like a truly unisex show.

To me, toeing the line with menswear as a woman makes me feel more comfortable and confident in who I am. I love seeing designers doing more and more of that exact thing, giving us offerings that you can wear no matter who you are.

And whether you can afford the pieces are not from these collections, what I take away from a runway show is always the styling cues, and what will the audience do with them, how will they affect what we’ll see people wearing for the next 1-2 years? I will even go as far as to quote and reaffirm myself via my review of Michael Rider’s debut at CELINE last summer, because I deeply believe it! Each of the four collections featured in this piece hit the below criteria for me.

I’ll always say this: if a collection feels inviting and invites you to share your own take on it, that is the hallmark of good design. It doesn’t matter the price tags—if you can go out and make that look on your own and even do it up to where it feels even more you, that’s style and that’s taste.

Now, please enjoy some commentary and favorite looks from my top 4 collections this season.

CELINE

To start, there are fully too many good details to share here. If I did, this email would be as long as a CVS receipt. For Spring 2027, the tri-fold bag made popular by Phoebe Philo makes a return in a shoulder silhouette. I also can’t get over the equestrian-meets-pirate-style boots on the lower left that can’t help but feel like a nod to Vivienne Westwood’s classic Pirate boots. I will also be 100% recreating this fair isle vest + pool blue shirt combination, a styling trick also seen at Prada.

What’s interesting to me about these zebra pants is they easily could’ve fit into Hedi Slimane’s version of CELINE, but Rider has figured out how to make them work in his universe. Styled with a simple skinny belt, sweater, and bordeaux leather accessories, they feel new rather than derivative, which I often found Slimane’s designs to feel after a while. (Sorry, how many times can you do emaciated rock ‘n’ roll boy?)

As usual, the accessories were flawless, with a new, lightweight loafer making it’s debut with mini horsebit hardware. Color combinations to inspire us were in no short order, either. A go-to silhouette for me was the oversized sweater paired with capri pants and flats. So easy to recreate and the ideal in-between season outfit.

This collection continued to inspire the shopper to think differently when it comes to styling. Why not pair your fuchsia cummerbund with tattered Reeboks? The oxford shirts tied upon the head were a bit unhinged, but also felt like a great nod to the current European heatwave, anything to stay cool! My favorite look from the collection was this knit twinset—a pullover jumper with a cardigan draped over it. My favorite accessory? The leather gloves with the letters of the alphabet embroidered on them. Finally, I’m loving the silhouette Rider is now becoming known for, a longline trench or tailored long jacket. Something I’d describe as actually worthy of the word chic.

SIMONE ROCHA

Simone Rocha said of her man this season “This is my Irish man and he’s arrived in Florence and become the main character.” Rocha took her signature house codes that we’ve seen for years in womenswear and created her first standalone menswear collection. It was a mix of tailoring and more ornate pieces, perhaps a bit more tailoring than usual, representing her inspiration via the Edwardian era and the 1980s version of A Room With a View. My favorite aspects were the ballet flats and various silver accents, done in the form of an arm band and new logo belt buckle. Rocha told Vogue a lot about tenderness, which was seen more tangibly in the undergarment-inspired layering pieces which I’m sure are to be a hit when they hit stores.

My two standout looks from the collection are look 12, as seen in the first Simone collage and 20, as seen in teh second. Look 12 is a slim silhouette featuring a navy car coat layered over a delicate, embroidered linen Oxford shirt and necktie and matching shorts, finished with the silver arm bands seen in the show, paired with sweater knit socks and embroidered black oxfords. Really, if I had a uniform, it’d be that. Second is Look 20, featuring what I’ll call a “poet’s jacket” finished with embroidered flowers and a large chiffon brooch, calf length trousers and ballet shoes. It looks straight out of a painting of a ballet dancer. The entire collection had an air of the theater, which makes sense given it was staged in a post-Renaissance opera house.

PRADA

Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons mentioned in their interviews they wanted to go back to common garments… what does fashion look like in the street vs the runway? While you could argue a Prada garment is never going to be a “common” garment, I do see their line of thinking. They also used silhouettes of the ‘60s (see the white scoop neck t-shirts, skinny jeans, and thick leather belts) I can imagine both Mick Jagger or Jane Birkin wearing these looks. Oof the silver belt is to die for!! Also present was the the Venice print from SS04 which layers so well under a black blazer. I love to see it.

I also enjoyed the reimagining of a Prada Sport-style shoe, though more 90s meets 60s Beatle shoes or goth footwear than sneaker. The show very well maintained the now signature worn-in look of Prada with distressed leather jackets, a holy grail item for me! The show was an ode to craft, again, not something the house highlights as much as say a Chanel or Dior or even Schiaparelli. To highlight in their own way, the designers mentioned they used the actual denim silhouette designed by Levi Strauss in the 1800s to create the jeans in this collection, looping back to the “common garment” comment. Most of the looks were capped off with a pair of mismatched cyborg-esque sunglasses which felt more punk than futuristic (positive).

DIOR MEN

For next spring, Jonathan Anderson took us to the all-night parties and mornings after of the lads in proper English schools. So far, his takes on menswear have been mostly different versions of dandyism, and he keeps iterating on that so well. Craft was once again up front this season: he did fabulous trompe l’oeil neckties in sequins, New Look jackets in shredded tweed and blanke tand the most incredible plisse pleated check overcoat.

Also present were signature cozy knits, my favorite a speckled Donegal fisherman sweater in a faded orange with a glittering floral brooch. Anderson’s blanket coats don’t get old, either. This collection made me think of modern versions of stories like Maurice or Brideshead Revisited. I actually think many of the pieces in Dior Men could live in the same universe as Simone Rocha’s latest. Now, I’ve got enough inspiration to hold me over until couture week in July ;).

Ffern’s Summer 2026 Ad Campaign

Saved because: 3 of my favorite things include medieval history and armor, Ffern, and perfume. OK, suppose that’s 4. Ffern, the British perfumer, has been rolling out its summer 2026 campaign the last few weeks, with a theme of The Green Knight, an Arthurian legend involving a mysterious knight of the forest.

Ffern has become one of my most anticipated brands to watch each season, partnering with actors like Ruth Wilson, Charlie Cooper, Claire Foy and Bill Nighy to create mini universes for their one-of-a-kind quarterly perfumes. This quick vignette from their first teaser is a favorite, and if you haven’t seen their film teaser for summer yet, definitely see it here. Their ability to create an entirely new world that is so uniquely them is top tier.

Summer Anklet Styling by Chani Ra of

Saved because: First, I’m still in love with the square-toe pump silhouette from Chanel S/S ‘26, and it appears to be a shoe shape that Matthieu Blazy plans on bringing back for forthcoming seasons (yay). I came across this cute polaroid carousel by , whose style and expertise I adore. She styled a few of her Chanel shoes by Blazy, including a killer pair of boots from Métiers d'Art, but I love how she took these pumps and paired them with a coral necklace as an anklet. Excellent way to zhuzh up a look and channel oceanic Cruise 2027 now! Cute anklet options on Etsy and Free People. You could also do this playful Reef Charm from Catbird’s summer drop on an anklet chain.

Charlotte Wales and Katie Shillingford for AnOther #50

Saved because: Today, I was perusing AnOther Magazine's site as they celebrate 25 years. First of all, it makes me so happy to see a magazine still existing in print—and celebrating a quarter of a century at that! I loved the pop-of-color editorial by Charlotte Wales, styled by Katie Shillingford (an all-time favorite stylist, IYKYK). It features some of the season’s best multicolored looks. My favorite shot was a spread featuring an Alaïa ensemble. The poses! The tassels! The unexpected pairing of red and green! It reminds me of the excellent Versace ads of the '80s and '90s. More of this, please.

Green Tiled Bathroom of My Dreams

Saved because: If I could have a bathroom in any hue, it’d definitely be this type of jade green tile. It’s full European bathhouse charm that I can get behind. This clipping is from a New York Times article about restoring a prewar NYC apartment from 2019. Worth a peek if you’re in need of some interior inspiration at the moment!

Rosalía’s Custom Dior for the Lux Tour

Saved because: Well, you know it wouldn’t be my newsletter without at least one or two Chanel or Dior mentions, and we’ve already hit quota ;). Rosalía’s currently on her US tour for Lux, and she’s just debuted three custom looks by Jonathan Anderson for Christian Dior. My favorite? The ballet tutu silhouette, actually more of a ‘bell’ tutu if we’re being technical, (yes, I did ballet and dance for nearly 16 years), done in a tank-top style with the signature house medallion in crochet. It’s so purely Rosalía, romantic, soft, sexy, but with Jonathan’s touch of craft.

Bella Freud’s Lucian Dog Collection

Saved because: You know how I feel about dogs!!! And is one of my all-time beloved designers and humans. My Je t’aime Jane sweater is a prized possession, and I have a few of her now-empty candle vessels that I use to keep makeup brushes and other odds and ends. Her brand of humor and POV is 10/10 always. She just launched her Lucian Dog capsule, featuring her brand’s logo, drawn by Bella’s father, Lucian Freud. It features the cutest striped scarf for your canine, t-shirts, and basic knit sweaters. I’m adding the white t-shirt with Lucian embroidered logo to cart as we speak! (And this epic Joy Division pitcher…)

Portland Vase by Bouke de Vries

Saved because: If my memory serves me correctly, I first came to know Dutch artist Bouke de Vries for having created a stunning limited collection of ceramic perfume bottles for Dries Van Noten. De Vries’s art takes fragments of historic ceramics and turns them into something completely new. He takes an object so ornate and breakable, and transforms it into something even more beautiful through its broken form.

He did just that with his new Portland Vase piece, now on display at the British Museum. Inspired by the original Portland Vase, a Roman vessel from circa 25 AD, the form is a typical amphora that has been reimagined by many makers over the years, including Josiah Wedgwood. De Vries’s version is deeply striking; he takes original Wedgwood fragments and organizes them to match the typical scene on a Roman vase almost perfectly, but in fragmented form. It all sits inside a glass vessel in the shape of the original. If you’re in London, please do see it for me!

Leaning into the summer jewelry refresh vibe while being something you’ll be able to keep for ages.

• Felt very fancy wearing this Harlequin Peridot Tennis Bracelet. The stones are just the right shade of verdant.

Prada S/S 2026 Menswear Detail

Saved because: I’ve had this saved on my Pinterest for a few weeks now. The colors are what are speaking to me, unsurprisingly in my favorite primary palette. It’s also reminding me of how effective a simple sneaker can be (great pin badget detail too that makes it a smidge punk.)

For a major Adidas head such as myself, why not consider a pair of Keds? Or Jack Purcells even? I’ve been thinking about the latter to ~bring back ~ and perhaps this runway detail is deeming it time. Top Tier Sunglasses Lineup (Source)

Saved because: If you know me, I am a sunglasses-horse. I am a clothes horse, but I am really an accessory horse. Sorry, end of horse + related items to wear discourse ends here. I saw this glorious lineup of shades on Likuna Sturua’s IG and is a little reminder to refresh your pairs for summer. I saw someone wearing the Phoebe Philo Cookie sunglasses in person, and I haven’t stopped thinking about them. Sadly, very out of my price range. I love the oversized CELINE pair that’s also taken over the internet, but I’ve settled for this cute Marni pair. I’ve been dying for something with a blue lens, and finally found it. Can’t wait for them to get here.

Chanel F/W 1996 Gold Jacket (Source)

Saved because: The 90s were pure Chanel pomp and circumstance, with no shortage of detail or craft. I’ve been a longtime fan of the giant jewels of the Lagerfeld era, especially when he looked to different Byzantine and Eastern cultures. He always did it with taste, utilizing savoir-faire to make some of the most coveted pieces in fashion history. Seeing this jacket from 1996 made by Maison Lesage with a Gripoix belt up close (well, Instagram up close) this week really stopped me in my tracks. It looks like something royalty should wear, and is a piece that’s been worn by (not sure of how many iterations) everyone from Celine Dion to Gaga, and was recently sold by Tab Vintage to one very lucky customer. Simply beyond.

Photographer Robert Fairer’s Captures of Early Aughts Prada & Miu Miu

Saved because: My algorithm did me quite a service this week when it served me the account of photographer Robert Fairer. His account is a glorious recounting of his work of the years, including archival, never published contact sheets of Prada and Miu Miu shows, plus his enormous Dior archive during the Galliano days. Lots of images of Jessica Stam (who was always my favorite) plus Carmen Kass, young Mariacarla, etc. This particular select is from Miuccia’s A/W 2002 show.

Style Notes from B-Sides Jeans

Saved because: More proof that red and white are not just for Christmas, or Fourth of July! In love with this stunning split hem pair of faded red jeans from B-Sides.

• Watching:

  • Widow’s Bay: Need another ep now! I am a big Stephen King fan and miss the days of Castle Rock. Also a big Yellowjackets fan. Also generally a fan of any show (i.e. Stranger Things) that nods to beloved film and genre archetypes in a new, creative way. Well, at least ST did that in the beginning. Anyway, Matthew Rhys is a wonderful lead, and completely different from his last project which I also literally finished, The Beast In Me. Widow’s Bay combines a bunch of things into one darkly comedic series rooted in the Puritanical east coast that IMO is going by way too quickly. You know I’m in those Reddit threads reading theories.

  • Signé Chanel by Loic Prigent: Literally from 2004 and beyond grainy on YouTube, I’ve been watching the episodes of this documentary in pieces. It chronicles Karl’s FW 2004 couture collection, where he made every look have two looks within it. Lagerfeld was always good at thinking about how women actually dress and that is why I appreciate him. I like to think Blazy is doing well in that department too. I have hazy memories of watching this in high school when I was just finding my love for fashion and searching for every documentary on that planet that was available. I still highly recommend.

  • Loved Colbert’s performance with David Byrne to close out The Late Show. Real ones!!!

  • And Hacks OFC!!! I don’t want it to ever end.

• Reading: Much like literally everyone else, I too am reading Famesick. I’ve got about 100 pages left. What are your thoughts??? I have many. Next on my list is Angel Down, a sort of sci-fi horror about a fallen angel being the solution to WWI…sounds interesting..and is also the title of a very good Lady Gaga song (lol). I also purchased I Used to Be Charming by Eve Babitz, on recommendation from my best friend Justine <3. Also dying to read The Women are Not Fine.

• You can never have too many sneakers: (Or maybe you can, but let’s say you can’t.) I’ve been on a bit of a shoe moratorium this spring as I have no space in my closet, but I did snag a pair of Song for the Mute’s Adidas Tokyo that just came out, which I’ve been eyeing for months since I first saw the photo above. I purchased the middle grayish/taupe pair, since I don’t have a true neutral right now. You can find the blue on Shopbop, too.

• Stripes on the brain, as usual: I love this chunky knit cardigan from Noah. It’s unisex, too.

• One lipstick to rule them all: OK, in my last shopping roundup I linked Westman Atelier’s Hydrobalm Lipstick, and I love it so much I’m linking it again. I bought the Onyx shade during Credo’s sale and I’m really obsessed with it. It looks dark purple or black before you apply, but it’s the ideal sheer berry. It’s honestly super hydrating too.

• Jonathan Anderson showed the perfect plaid button-down with numbers by Ed Rushca: Leave it to J.A. and Dior to convince me I need a basic plaid shirt in my rotation. (Or Kate Moss on the runway in Blazy-era Bottega and then Jacob Elordi wearing the same leather shirt recently in Euphoria.) Two good options are this one from COS and a version from KOTN (also on sale!)

• Dream pants: I really can’t stop thinking about these High Sport Scroll Pants in red and black. I love something that is a basic that has a little flourish and can still make the every day feel special.

• Stones stones stones!: Oop more Dior Cruise inspiration. Loved this necklace situation with Dalmatian stone. Vestige in Philly ( is their Substack!) has a really wonderful selection of different natural stones, pendants, and other jewlery rn. I’ve been looking at their site for so much inspiration in general when it comes to styling. Loving this glass spiral pendant. Etsy is also a great place to look for stones right now and get lost in the sauce. I just added this Dalmatian stone beaded necklace with a pearl to my wishlist. This pendant from Bagatiba is sweet, too. I love stones so much I need these pebble erasers in my life, too.

• Drinking out of fun glasses is just better: Resharing these Gohar World glasses I bought a couple of weeks ago. They’re super lightweight glass and are perf for daily water, juice, or coffee. Or wine!! They look even better on a Calder book, ofc.

• On the topic of red and blue t-shirts: Miss Sevigny is wearing the perfect Versace t-shirt in her recent Harper’s Bazaar spread with a little Medusa detail. Though, if you’re like me, Versace t-shirt might not be in the cards. Two good dupes are ’s reversible tee and this ringer from Los Angeles Apparel.

• Swimming pool blue…so hot right now: I’m wearing Chanel’s new “Baigneuse” polish on my toes—it’s a must. I also got one of Le Bon Shoppe’s lightweight Owen Shirt in a similar hue, which I wore twice this week. See photo starring my dog, Smooch.

• Paul Smith S/S 1999: Honestly, the only outfit I want to wear ever even with summer approaching. It’s hilarious bc as much as I love fashion, I also just can’t be bothered. J.W. Anderson x Uniqlo has a classic white button down if you’re looking for a new one. I also love Citizens of Humanity’s Ayla Baggy Jean for a similar look.

• Scarf season is upon us: I always recommend searching for vintage scarves, because they’re a bit more fun, but I do love this one from Gap that comes in a few prints, and Alex Mill has a great selection that feel like they’re from travels abroad. Cute crochet moment from Gap, too.

• I’m thinking about countryside-inspired touches for the home: This photo of Christy Turlington with yellow-blonde hair has me thinking of the sunny, grassy hills of the South of France. I recently added Olive Atelier’s Agatha Lamp to my place, and it was very much worth the splurge. The cotton shade is beautiful as is the pewter base. Next on my list is this sweet wooden desk organizer.

• Another silver bangle never hurt: Jenny Bird’s latest bangle design is a must—adding the Nelle Bangle to cart in silver!

• The only (three) frocks you need for summer: Le Bon Shoppe’s Marianne Dress. It’s been rather “May Grey” in LA, but I’m wearing this as soon as it warms up. So cute to layer with tees. I’m also in love with this one in red from Damson Madder that can double as a night dress. Ok fine I also need the new Lotus Dress from Loeffler Randall!!!

• Maybe it’s time to refresh our coffee cup selection: I want literally everything from Porta NYC’s recent Enza Fasano Ceramics drop. The espresso set in green is precious, also eyeing the ash tray despite being a non smoker.

• Don’t forget the SPF!: And while you’re in the sun, I’ve been loving Ilia’s new Sun Serum. I notoriously hate sun screen, and this one is truly light, not oily at all. Good for acne prone skin, like your truly.

René Magritte, Les Liaisons Dangereuses, 1935

Saved because: Rene Magritte is in my top five favorite artists. It’s always invigorating to see one of his works in person. I have been lucky enough to see several in my life, most recently when visiting NYC at MOMA and last weekend when I went to the new David Geffen galleries at LACMA.

I live very close to LACMA and finally decided to become a member. I’ll definitely be back to visit this Magritte, Les Liaisons Dangereuses. I’ve never seen it before, and the painted double mirror is quite striking in person, especially against the stained purple-red concrete wall. I 100% recommend going to the Geffen galleries—they’re vast and it’s very much choose your own adventure. It’s really like nothing I’ve ever seen before! I didn’t think I’d experience baroque sculptures in the way I did, and you should, too.

This week, Jonathan Anderson is staging Christian Dior’s Cruise ‘27 collection at the newly opened galleries, and Dior PR team, if you’re listening, I’d be on the floor if I could attend. I can’t wait to see how he brings the collection to life in the space.

Palazzo Forani in World of Interiors, May 2026

Saved because: A favorite activity of mine is flipping open a fresh copy of World of Interiors with really no knowledge of what’s inside. It’s a magazine I’ve grown to love and pick up where I can find it (LA’s newsstands are tragically dwindling, so I ordered my recent copy from Magazine Cafe). The May issue chronicles Palazzo Forani, a medieval dream that still stands today. Worth a flip through (in person) or digitally for fans of terrazzo and stone reliefs.

Perfect Shirting in Elle Magazine 1993

Saved because: Excellent found layered striped shirt and watch styling from an Elle mag, July 1993 issue. And a Contax to boot! I love when something 33 years old feels so now.

Bags at the Office by Casey Zhang

Saved because: Bags in their least done-up form are my favorite way to see handbags. (See: Jane Birkin’s Birkin). My friend Casey’s series for the latest issue of Harper’s Bazaar captures just that. This new flap bag from Chanel’s S/S ‘26 collection is so good in the caviar saddle leather mixed with quilted suede.

Four Leaf Clover Pendant, 1920s

Saved because: I’m not Irish, but I’ve grown to love the four leaf clover, especially when done in a tasteful, beautiful way. This pendant is no exception. It features four symbols, and collapses into one heart pendant. What a treasure!

The Rise & Fall of Cool Brittania by Sam Nowell, 2020

Saved because: I’ve been sitting on this one for a while. If you know me, you know I’m a rabid Oasis fan. Consider me sat in this 1/1 coat by artist Sam Nowell for when the Live ‘25 documentary comes out later this year. No really, I would actually die for this coat, made from a throw blanket and a vintage Burberry trench. On the back, it has a quote about the British and beauty (unsure of the author). Sadly it’s one-of-a-kind, but a girl can dream.

Dream Book Nook at the Osvaldo Borsani House in Milan

Saved because: I mean, where else would you want to read with espresso in hand? My IG was papered with images from this furniture installation by Interni Venosta during Milan Design Week, so I had to investigate for myself. The gallery space is actually a Milanese apartment that was never opened to the public designed by modernist Osvaldo Borsani. This alcove built into the wall is cozy while still feeling minimal.

• Beads: All I can think about are beaded necklaces and bracelets. A few favorites: Vertigo’s gemstone bead bracelets. I have yellow jasper—it’s a surprising neutral I’m loving. They’re quite weighty and very special handmade pieces. Sea + Pattern has this much more affordable red jasper number I have in my cart.

• Orchid Pink: Hints of orchid pink in the wardrobe, like the center of the black flower above at right in Georgia O’Keeffe’s painting. Orchid-colored nail polish, a phone case, a t-shirt. Love this hair claw from Machete, Flore Flore has a good tee in this shade, too. Alex Mill has the right idea too with their new Summer 26 collection colors, like this fab jacket / pant combo—there’s a linen scrunchie too! I should also mention this Selima Optique Carolyn Sunglass colorway.

• Let’s bring back taffeta: The upper left image is making think of all things silky, but done up in a more casual way. The ladies at Hai are always doing it right, especially with their Brooke Callahan collaboration, a tight curation of black, teal and (again) an fuchsia moment. This Lisa Says Gah Celeste skirt in opal blue is also quite perfect. I think I need it!

• $100 Hermès: OK, maybe closer to $150-$250, but you should snatch up one of Hermès’s vintage Fourre Tout totes before everybody catches on. Above, upper right, is my own, and now I’m wanting a mini version, too. Shop the exact one I found here.

• Pool blue: Another color I’m obsessed with, probably because I only want to be at the pool right now with a pina colada in hand. I caved and bought Damson Madder’s cutie high-neck blouse at their LA pop up this last weekend, and I have this J.Crew knee-length skirt in my cart, in the same color.

• Clare V.’s new green suede bag won’t leave my mind—the grass green color is perfect and so is the shape and strap length. Am I the only one always battling with what length my bag straps should be? I’m always going between wanting to be a crossbody girl, a handheld girl, or true shoulder, but lately it’s been shoulder for me. Green is a core member of my color palette (see dream Chanel Cruise ‘27 knee-length skirt in the last grid). I also have these Loeffler Randall Devon Sandals in Green Moire which were kindly gifted to me by the lovely <3—they’re really so chic and unexpected in this color (and texture! more moire, please!)

• Books books books and more books. There is no shortage of printed matter in my home, and I’m loving this image on the upper left and the art within it. It’s giving YSL artwork or Matisse? Unsure. Regardless, cute. A few titles on my shelves and or hoping to come to them soon: ’s Jenny Sais Quois, Lázár by Nelio Biedermann,I recently ordered the newest issue of POP with the portfolio of Jonathan Anderson’s Christian Dior debut couture show. I am also urgently awaiting the book companion to Marc by Sofia (as much as I am awaiting it to stream), also dying to get my hands on ’s Riviera cookbook!

• Less, but better makeup: Fara Homidi’s Essential Face Compact and Buffer Brush are worth the hype. I splurged on both in the last 6 months and I’m really happy I did. I really don’t like wearing a lot of makeup, and the Buffer Brush makes the concealer/foundation in the compact go on smoothly and with better coverage. The brush itself almost feels like you’re applying with a sponge, I’ve never used anything like it before. Worth the money! I wear the lightest shade, Silvette.

• A trench is never a bad idea: See my love letter to trenches here from Jan 2025. But seriously, I’ve been wearing a vintage linen mid-length trench for the last month as my outer layer, because LA weather is quite finicky. I’ve been getting sooo many questions on where it’s from. I got it from Na Nin a few years ago and it’s a favorite. Though I cannot find you the exact one, I’d suggest searching vintage linen trench on Poshmark or eBay. If you’re willing to splurge, the Jenni Kayne Leonard Trench is a good one and will prob last for ages.

• Thinking about glassware and a vase refresh: Although I can’t have the Roman vessel on the lower left, I can buy new vases. I actually really love this one from Zara Home. These Verona splatter vases are also precious, especially in the pink and blue splatter. This black wax Medicis Vase by Diptyque is also really so cool—just don’t burn this one ;) Special glass honorable mention are these spotty Egyptian glasses from Gohar World which I am actually going to purchase.

• New hair things! Summer calls for fun new hair accessories. A few on my shopping list: This fish hair clip from Shrimps (it’s a must, in fact I think I need to just buy it!!!) Alex Mill also launched qt linen scrunchies that are on the more affordable side. MNZ has a new acid green-meets yellow Carnation Scrunchie in her summer lineup that’s worth a peek.

• Mushrooms for the skin: My new sweet friend gifted me her Verdoie moisturizer and supplements. You can purchase her incredible, lightweight moisturizer on Credo right now—their whole site is 20% off through end of week! Other faves on sale: RŌZ anything ofc, Westman Atelier’s HydroBalm (I just bought Onyx, which goes on like a sheer plum), and also in my cart, of which I did not buy, but need is the Serviette NYC Byronic Hero perfume. tipped me off to it and I’m obsessed with the scent (and name, duh), which I tried out via the brand’s discovery set.

I spent the week in New York with my husband for vacation. Visiting friends, going to museums and galleries, shows and eating good food. I’ve been many times over the years, but I’ve never visited with my partner which was a special experience ❣️

At the top of my to do list was visit Library 180, an image archive in the financial district that opened last year. As a very amateur archivist (if you can even call me that, lol), I stoked when I was able to schedule an appointment to visit the archive with ease this past Thursday. Really a dream for anyone who grew up obsessed with magazines and have their own mini archive. I still seek out scans of the latest titles to this day and scour the internet for them, so being able to see some editorials in person (hello Audrey Marnay in the Face!) for the first time that were formative to me was special or remembering Prada’s Kate Moss portfolio for the FW09 collection.

It’s exactly as you’d imagine, a big, 26th floor open floor plan office with magazines from the past 50 years in it. Titles include a full run of Visionaire to stacks of Interview, more obscure magazines outside of fashion, as many Vogues as you can imagine… incredible stuff.

I didn’t know where to begin for my one hour time slot and kind of just went with titles I’ve always adored or maybe specific years I was looking for.

I ended up mostly looking at issues of the original run of The Face, Dazed, Vogues from the 80s and 90s, the first issue of POP(!!!) with Phoebe and Stella, a few Ws, and naturally I asked if they had Arena Homme+ from the mid 90s with Liam Gallagher, of which they did not, but they did have another 1999 copy which was fab. I also chose a W with Kirsten Dunst from the time she was promoting Marie Antoinette.

• Prince Street Ballet Flats by Alex Mill: The perfect Porselli-esque Italian-made ballet flat without the 6-8 week wait time. The AM team was super kind and gifted me the gorgeous sky blue color. I’ve been on the hunt for this shade for a while. Note: They run a little small.

• Lemon Jasper Bracelet by Vertigo: Deeply craving BEADS right now! I splurged on this lemon jasper one by Vertigo. I’m finding the yellow surprisingly neutral with most looks. My new choice accessory for springtime.

• Psyche Sunglasses by Akila: I fully copied my colleague Camilla with these—they’re so good. And generally affordable for a pair of shades these days. I got the tortoise shade. I love how rounded the acetate is for such a rectangular pair.

• Spencer Track Pants by Loeffler Randall: I have these in red, but the brown are just as good. I am a connoisseur of track pants, and this pair from LR are worth the investment. A nice, thick material that feels a little more significant when wearing them.

• Marc by Sofia via A24: Sofia has been keeping us fed these last few years with new tomes—and now she’s coming out with a companion book to her new documentary about Marc Jacobs. I’ve never hit pre-order so quickly.

• Cashmere High V-Neck Sweater in Royal Violet by J.Crew: Unexpectedly loving purple these days, I have to thank Mr. Michael Rider for his recent iteration at CELINE’s F/W ‘26 show. It usually is a shade that reminds me of sports teams, but apparently I’ve gotten over that. I sprung for J.Crew’s lightweight cashmere pullover and finding myself wearing it with all sorts of outfits.

• Soft Feels Ace T-Shirt by Aritzia: Cute raglan moment from Aritzia. Finding myself wanting tops like these now that it’s light jacket weather (or no jacket weather, tbh) in LA. Pair with a good pair of jeans and these Loeffler Randall flats or sneakers.

• The Moon Shoe by Nike x Jacquemus in Brown: I was lucky enough to get a pair of these and I will admit… they are worth the hype!!!! So comfy with or without socks. The white/cream is sooo good and crisp.

• The Choupette Bag by Clare V: Is this my spring bag? She’s glorious. I love the shape and the perforated leather. A little trick to the eye, it almost looks like mesh but not!

• Orpheon Hand Cream by Diptyque: I wear Diptyque’s Orpheon perfume in a solid, the component it comes in (and all of Diptyque’s solid perfumes) are really so beautiful. I adore the weight the compact has. I was so excited to see they’ve come out with a hand cream in the scent too. It’s floral yet woody and bright.

• Hydrobalm Tinted Lipstick by Westman Atelier in Brique: Worth the hype! I’ve already purchased two shades, Brique, a warmer red, and Ballerine, a sheer cool peony. I’m after English Rose next. The color lasts a while and there’s a coolness when you apply it. Actually moisturizing, too!

• Carolyn Clutch by Parker Thatch: I’m not really one for clutch bags, I honestly own zero, but I came across this Parker Thatch one in my two favorite colors. Yes please! Also maybe this is a brand I need to be paying more attention to because their big leather totes are fab. This zebra moment caught my eye. Love the contrasting handle.

• 365 Low-Rise Pleated Wide-Leg Trousers by Gap: FINALLY after months of searching found a good pair of trousers. Bought two of this pair from Gap. They’re lightweight and come in a bunch of colors.

It’s also been two years since I got to go to England for the first time on my honeymoon, and I can’t help but feel nostalgic about returning to the sense of whimsy I felt while there. There’s just something in the air there that we don’t have in America.

There are sweet candlesticks with red bows, Gohar World coasters and a glossy bean-shaped desk. Room dividers that look like medieval choir screens. Lots of bisque ceramic plates. [I have a feeling she’d like this Ginori one…] The ideal combination of red, black and silver.

Simone will be presenting her first exclusive menswear collection at Pitti Uomo this summer. Trip to Firenze, anyone? What a dream.
