As we know, Donald Trump loves renaming things. This week, in a fit of toddler pique, he declared Lake Ontario is now officially Lake America.

Just like his earlier petulant Gulf of America rebrand.

Tacking his name on the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts (making the assassinated president second fiddle) didn’t work out so well in court. So now he wants a plaque giving himself credit for “renovating” the center … or he’ll order it demolished.

Trump is reportedly pushing for the new $3.7 billion Washington Commanders football stadium to be named for him, just weeks after having both the Palm Beach airport branded with his name and a four-mile stretch of highway near his Mar-a-Lago Epstein playground.

In one of the greatest tone-deaf rebrands of all time, the man who followed Bibi Netanyahu’s order to begin a totally baseless, illegal war against Iranian school girls that will soon have us paying obscene gas and grocery prices and collapse Trump’s rickety economy has added his name to the United States Institute of Peace.

Peace?
More like pieces of children.

We may well soon see Trump’s plump, glaring mug on a new $100 bill, the National Park Service “America the Beautiful” park pass and a government prescription drug website. Additionally, Republican state legislative poodle boys across the nation are looking to add Trump’s name to local and state roads, airports and other public facilities.

Perhaps public rest rooms?

Most obscenely, a new class of warships and an aircraft carrier that was to be named after a Black World War II Navy hero is to now be named after Trump. You know, the very same military draft dodger who has dismissed those who have died, been wounded or captured in battle as “suckers” and “losers.”

Notably, in the four generations since their arrival in the United States, no member of the Trump family has ever served in the military.

Trump rebrand that does make sense

Now, I have mocked and scorned all Trump’s rebranding efforts but — in fairness — there is one thing that definitely deserves Trump’s name: the word “shit.”

Trump Faces Backlash Over Reports US Navy Carrier May Be Named After Him Instead Of Black War Hero

The Trump administration has been accused of delivering a “slap in the face” to US military veterans after reports that a navy aircraft carrier set to honor a Black war hero may, instead, be named after Donald Trump.

The US navy had previously announced that the carrier under construction would be called the USS Doris Miller, in tribute to a sailor celebrated for his heroism during the attack on Pearl Harbor in the second world war.

But the navy is now working to rename the carrier, CNN reported, citing three sources familiar with internal discussions. Two of those sources said there have been conversations about renaming it to honor Trump, according to the network.

“This is a slap in the face to every war hero and every service member who has worn the uniform,” said Derrick Johnson, president of the NAACP civil rights group. “Doris Miller earned his place in American history through courage, sacrifice, and service,” added Johnson. “Donald Trump only wants to serve himself.”

The US navy declined to comment. When contacted for comment, the White House referred the Guardian to the Department of Defense, which declined to comment.

Miller, a navy cook, reportedly shot down four to six Japanese bombers at Pearl Harbor in 1941, despite no formal training on the weapons system he used. He died at sea, in 1943, with two-thirds of the crew lost to a Japanese torpedo aboard the Liscome Bay. Cuba Gooding Jr portrayed him in the 2001 film Pearl Harbor.

He was awarded the Navy Cross for his actions at Pearl Harbor. The citation reads: “While at the side of his Captain on the bridge of the battleship U.S.S. WEST VIRGINIA, Mess Attendant First Class Doris Miller, despite enemy strafing and bombing and in the face of a serious fire, assisted in moving his Captain, who had been mortally wounded, to a place of greater safety, and later manned and operated a machine gun directed at enemy Japanese attacking aircraft until ordered to leave the bridge.”

His family has long advocated for his award to be upgraded to a Medal of Honor.

No carrier in the US navy has ever been named for a sitting president, and reports of the plan to name this one after Trump prompted heavy criticism on Friday. …

It has been reliably reported today that Trump’s hand-picked executive board of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, whom a federal court had prohibited from adding Trump’s name to the title, just voted to add Trump’s name to the building’s facade so it would read: “The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Restored and Renovated By President Donald J. Trump.” In addition, they voted to name the plaza in front of the building after Trump.

The current appearance of the building, now under partial renovation coverage, firmly pays sole tribute to John F. Kennedy who had fervently supported the arts throughout the United States.

The only known “art” that Trump is believed to have supported was the sale of his ghost-written book “The Art of the Deal”.

One can only imagine how the new facade will appear so that it will live up to Trump’s expectations of how he will be glorified. Perhaps it will look like:

This disturbing podcast popped up today and given the information presented and what it implicates about our government, I felt the need to promote it, especially since under pressure from Israeli interests the CJ Werelman Show has been — in the land of supposed free speech — demonitised.

Certainly, I have heard some of the information in Werleman’s report before, but he does an excellent job here of pulling the pieces together and exposing the satanic trend line connecting it all.

Cowardice in the face of fascism is complicity with fascism, about the biggest betrayal of students and the ethos of education one can imagine.

Okay, okay, I know, things can feel pretty grim these days in the depraved and brutal United State of Corporations, but one place I feel hope is the young people. Many have displayed courage, from the snowy streets of Minneapolis to protesting at ICE concentration camps in the withering heat of Texas. For every Stasi Flock community spy camera they disable or topple, they are standing up for us all and our 4th Amendment rights as citizens.

True modern patriots.

The free speech group FIRE ran a story today on one such young patriot: Omaha, Nebraska high school student Aidan McClaren, whose school newspaper editorial cartoon on the Gestapo ICE campaign against America was censored and scrubbed from the paper’s website by school officials.

Aidan’s newspaper colleagues joined him in stepping up for us all in defending the First Amendment right to free speech and uncensored information. Aidan wrote a response to the censorship of the cartoon and that was also blocked by school officials.

Shamefully, the adults running the school system betrayed the students, their profession as educators, the First Amendment and the nation. Cowardice in the face of fascism is complicity with fascism, about the biggest betrayal of students and the ethos of education one can imagine.

Their arrogant ignoring of the students’ appeal is beyond unprofessional. It’s cowardly.

It is clear from scanning Aidan’s cartoon that this brave young patriot knows his history, the standards of humanity and the values of the true American Revolution. His parents have every right to be proud of him.

As a former political cartoonist who was run out of the profession, I know what it is like to be in his position. The big difference in our experience is Aidan’s young colleagues backed him up, thus defending the First Amendment. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.

I urge you to take a few minutes to study Aidan’s cartoon and read the FIRE story. Let it warm your heart knowing there are those following us taking up the fight.

Nebraska School District Censors Anti-ICE Cartoon, Forces Prior Approval On Student Press

Gretna East High School administrators told the editors of Gretna East Media to remove this cartoon by student Aiden McClaren.

A Nebraska school district censored a student newspaper over a political cartoon criticizing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. After FIRE objected, the district adopted a new policy — one that gives administrators formal power to restrict student journalism before publication.

The cartoon, by Aidan McClaren, was the first and only editorial cartoon for Gretna East High School’s student newspaper last school year. That cartoon now sits in a storage bin alongside his academic decathlon trophies and journalism awards, after it was scrubbed from the school paper’s website.

McClaren was not originally a cartoonist. But when The Wingspan’s editor-in-chief noted that the paper hadn’t published any cartoons that year, McClaren, then a junior, started thinking. Later, when he got home from his after-school job, the day’s news was top of mind: ICE’s presence in Minneapolis and the killings of Renée Good and Alex Pretti, both by ICE agents in January 2026.

That night, he drew. “I knew I wanted to reference how it was similar to things that I had learned about in my history class that I took my sophomore year,” McClaren said in a video interview. His idea quickly took shape. The finished cartoon showed a young man looking at a factory labeled “History” with gears marked “Bureaucracy” and “Loopholes,” churning out historical moments such as the Palmer Raids and Japanese internment, alongside ICE.

“It took me a full week to muster up courage and show it to my class,” he said. After student leaders signed and approved, the cartoon found its home on The Wingspan’s website on Feb. 10. But it didn’t stay there for long.

Cutting off ICE criticism

McClaren was at home on his couch watching a reality TV show with his mom when his phone buzzed around 9 p.m. on Feb. 12. It was his student newspaper adviser. Two days after The Wingspan published McClaren’s cartoon, school administrators had taken it off the website.

“I was immediately kind of angry,” McClaren said. But McClaren didn’t just let it fester or stun him into inaction. He wrote another piece for The Wingspan — this time, an op-ed about his experience being censored.

“When our publication displayed a cartoon comparing ICE operations to past American military operations, the district administration had it removed,” he wrote. “The justification offered was that the topic was too controversial at the moment, and that people in our community were dealing with it firsthand. By that standard, no editorial cartoon worth publishing would ever see print. That is not a reason to suppress a cartoon. That is a reason to publish one. The district disagrees.”

The school blocked the piece’s publication, too.

Administrators gave McClaren and The Wingspan a choice: they could republish McClaren’s cartoon in the paper if the paper also published a pro-ICE cartoon or if they explained the cartoon for their audience. Otherwise, the pieces would stay offline.

McClaren wasn’t alone in feeling the school’s actions were wrong. Fellow Wingspan journalist Nick Mitchell launched a petition. Editor-in-chief Madeline Petrick asked the school to provide the reasons for the censorship in writing. The students attended a school board meeting on March 30 to ask the Gretna Public Schools Board of Education to adopt a student press freedom policy, reinstate the cartoon, and stop conducting prior reviews.

Skirting around speech standards

FIRE wrote to the school shortly after, echoing McClaren and his fellow student journalists’ calls and explaining the constitutional defects of the district’s actions and subsequent responses to the students.

Administrators pointed to the Supreme Court cases Hazelwood v. Kuhlmeier and Tinker v. Des Moines, reasoning they permitted the takedown and subsequent demands for prior review. While it’s true that school officials have greater authority to regulate student speech than the government ordinarily has with respect to the public, that authority comes with important safeguards. Public school students “do not shed their constitutional rights to freedom of speech or expression at the schoolhouse gate,” as the Court said in Tinker.

Tinker permits school officials to regulate student expression when they reasonably forecast that it will substantially disrupt school activities or invade the rights of others. Officials must support that conclusion with actual evidence, not just unsubstantiated fear. Gretna Public Schools offered no more than McClaren’s cartoon itself, which they posited could lead to a substantial disruption. Under Tinker, which doesn’t allow schools to merely rely upon “undifferentiated fear or apprehension of disturbance,” that reasoning fell flat.

The school also pointed to Hazelwood, but that standard did not seem to apply to The Wingspan. Hazelwood grants a more deferential standard to public school officials when dealing with “school-sponsored speech,” allowing them to regulate speech when their actions are reasonably related to legitimate pedagogical interests.

But based on the publication’s history of editorial independence, that standard would not apply. Hazelwood undeniably gives administrators more discretion over school-sponsored student speech — including student newspapers that are produced as part of a class or otherwise not set aside “by policy or practice” as forums for independent expression. But as McClaren and his peers noted, The Wingspan had long operated as such a forum. The school only took issue when his anti-ICE cartoon crossed their desktops.

But strong policies cement such protections and make it harder for administrators to deny them. That’s why McClaren, his peers, and FIRE called on the district to promulgate an official student media policy that protected student press rights.

Instead, they passed one that gutted them.

Making prior review permanent

On June 22, the Gretna Public Schools Board adopted an official policy regarding student media. Prior to its passage, McClaren and his peers didn’t have a chance to see what the new rules would be. “They never gave us a copy of the policy to read,” he said. It wasn’t until the policy had passed that McClaren and his peers could review it.

The policy marks a stark change. Student media is now considered “school-sponsored or part of the curriculum” that shall be “under the supervision and control” of not only the adviser but also the “building principal or designee.”

And while McClaren and his peers had largely operated without prior review in the past, the new policy allows for pre-publication review. “Prior to publication or distribution, school-sponsored student media may be reviewed by the classroom instructor, sponsor, principal, or designee to determine whether material is appropriate for publication or dissemination in a school-sponsored forum.” Among material that administrators may withhold is content that “gives the appearance of endorsing a political candidate or pending ballot issue.”

How the district treated McClaren’s cartoon offers little reason to believe it will limit the authority it granted itself to legitimate pedagogical concerns. McClaren connected the cartoon and the school’s reaction to it with the updated language. “You pretty much take a side in an opinion,” he noted. “And so, if [that opinion] were something political, then that would be pretty much in violation of that ninth bullet on there.”

McClaren said he sent emails to the superintendent and school board but didn’t hear back. But he wasn’t fazed. Instead, McClaren decided to look for other options to make change.

He began advocating for New Voices legislation. “I switched my focus so that the law would say they have to change.” He attended the New Voices Student Leaders Institute led by the Student Press Law Center, learning alongside other high school student journalists how to advocate for state-level protection for the student press.

These bills are designed to reverse the effects of Hazelwood, and often include language to stop Hazelwood from being improperly applied on college campuses. These statutory protections generally ensure student media remains free from administrative control or prior review.

“That’s my workaround to make them change it,” McClaren said of the school board and its new student media policy.

But for now, the district-level policy is in place, allowing prior review and placing restrictions on political content. Welcome back to school, Gretna East High student journalists. You have less press freedom now than when you left.

Evidence of the gathering fascist state grows by the day. From the metastasizing network of ICE warehouse concentration camp facilities infecting the landscape to the Gestapo ICE kidnappings of children to Donald Trump’s latest declaration of self- aggrandizement, the regime is circling in on all of us.

While the pressure grows, it is still pretty remote from the daily lives of most Americans, especially us native-born white folk. But even here, the fascist intrusion is evident with the network of Flock “Safety” cameras popping up at intersections and stretches of road.

As the grim reality of life in an intrusive illegal surveillance state grows more obvious, resistance is growing and people are rightfully pissed off. The anger is merging with community opposition flaring up at city and county council meetings over AI data domestic surveillance center proposals, many blessed by treasonous NDA — non-disclosure agreements — between elected officials and corporate tech companies.

All of it being completely illegal, unConstitutional and deepest betrayal of the American people. As a Civics 101 reminder and call to action, here is the Fourth Amendment of our Bill of Rights:

“The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”

Thankfully, patriots are rising up across the country and acting. From shouting down traitorous local officials in public meetings to spray painting, smashing and cutting down Flock cameras, people are pushing back. Now, some — like billionaire bilge scum Garrett ‘Peeping Tom’ Langley, owner of Flock Safety — tut-tut, saying such acts are rude and impolite in a democracy. A deMOCKracy owned and operated by billionaire thugs like Langley, who — in real life irony — has the same last name as the Virginia town hosting the CIA headquarters.

All the opposition and activism is inspiring to see and directly linked to the true spirit of the American Revolution, not the corporate prostituted version of Trump’s DC car race this past weekend. When normal political paths have been cut off and local, state and federal representatives and officials have been bought off or compromised, it is time for citizens to step up and act.

Serving up a dose of their own poison

Now is the time for treasonous local officials to get a dose of their own poison. You know, a turn on the old adage: “What’s good for me is good for thee.”

As one YouTube commentator suggested, going to an official's home:

“…and then sat outside with cameras zoomed in on his activities, with drones overhead broadcasting his yard live to the world. BTW its a federal offense to interfere with a drone flight, so he can’t touch them.”

Heck, consider it a form of public service. If Flock recording of you driving to work or taking your kids to the playground is for your own good and community safety, then surely recording and posting a public official parking his car at work or stumbling out of a bar with a couple Flock executives at closing time is for his own good.

“What’s good for me is good for thee.”

Obviously, none of it should be for threatening officials. Just expose and shame the bastards’ betrayal and let the community respond.

Most readers can think up ways of how such wonderful public safety surveillance information could be put up on the internet or turned into community newsletters or posters. Truly, in this day of tech, sky’s the limit.

Hmm, maybe drones flying banners at public events?

Kent’s response to Dore’s question is pretty cautious and he gives reality-defying comments about Trump’s intelligence, but Kent’s response to the question is not as important as our response. Your response. The response of the majority of American people who are turning against what is happening and coming to the realization that this is truly a corporate Epstein Class government of deadly lies, deceit, treason and perverts.

Despite the Congressional vote to release the Epstein files, the state of New Mexico, which is conducting an admirable bipartisan investigation of Epstein’s infamous Zorro Ranch, has been denied release of the necessary Justice Department documents they are seeking.

Any government that is not willing to protect its children and instead pulls out all stops to shield their sexual abusers is illegitimate. It has no legitimacy and the people have no obligation to support it. Until and unless the unredacted Epstein files are fully released and perpetrators indicted and prosecuted where possible, the government has absolutely no standing and deserves nothing but contempt and resistance from the people.

Government infiltration

If you are involved in any kind of political organizing or protest campaign, pay special attention to The Intercept article below, on infiltration of ICE agents into local political groups during the patriotic anti-ICE uprising in Minneapolis. What is happening now is a modern version of the CIA’s COINTELPRO program, which infiltrated and destroyed many anti-war and civil rights groups in the 1960s.

As then, so now, we will see the CIA joined by FBI, state and local law enforcement using paid and blackmailed informants to undermine and turn local organizers against each other and manufacture violence to justify violent crackdowns.

As noted in The Intercept article below:

“The investigative reports that the federal government has turned over to defense attorneys show that undercover ICE agents secretly recorded at churches, libraries, and schools even when organizers stressed the importance of nonviolence.”

When I have mention such a warning to local organizers in my area I have been dismissively waived away with assurances of “Oh, that would never happen here.” Well, it has happened and since it has happened, we can safely say it is happening now…and not just in Minneapolis.

Occupation of academia and the media

The interview at the end of this post with Professor David N. Gibbs gives an excellent assessment of how both American academia and journalism are infiltrated and actively controlled by the CIA and thus Zionist funders. The record Gibbs outlines provides the context needed to explain the shameless, illegal treatment of college students and faculty protesting the US/Israel genocide in Gaza and the sycophantic coverage of such betrayal of free speech and academic integrity by the mainstream corporate press.

Whatever nation we thought we lived in before October 7th, 2023 is gone. While much of what we lived with and believed before that historic pivot point turns out to have been a chimera, the brutal fascist state lumbering out of the pit is unmistakable. As ugly as it is to contemplate, the first act of resistance is to see things as they are. In fact, that is the most radical step of resistance.

The next is to organize. As Malcolm X observed: “We’re not outnumbered, we’re out-organized.”

Organizers in Minneapolis long suspected they were being surveilled by the federal government during the height of the winter protests against Immigration and Customs Enforcement. It was not until a court filing on Thursday, however, that the youth-led Sunrise Movement and other groups learned the depths of infiltration.

The Sunrise Movement has long preached nonviolence even as it pursues aggressive tactics, such as making a racket outside of the hotels where ICE agents sleep.

But the group’s public commitment to peaceful protest did not spare it from a months-long, aggressive campaign of government snooping that included ICE agents attending its meetings and protests undercover, subpoenas of its financial records, and at least one apparent attempt to entice an organizer into backing more confrontational tactics.

Sunrise Movement Executive Director Aru Shiney-Ajay said in an interview Thursday that the government’s tactics are a sign that the Trump administration is losing the battle for public opinion.

“What this is meant to do is scare protesters and scare people away from joining protest groups,” she said. “It is very essential that we remember that actually what we are doing is incredibly normal, it is incredibly popular, and we cannot let ourselves be scared out of organizing.”

Operation Puppet Master

The revelations about the tactics ICE used against Sunrise, along with a wide variety of labor unions and protest groups, came in a court filing from a defense attorney for one of 15 Minnesota activists charged in June for trying to stop the federal government’s immigration crackdown in the Twin Cities.

Shortly after federal agents killed Alex Pretti on January 24, ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations opened two investigations it called “Operation Puppet Master” and “Project Whipple Shield,” the latter a reference to the federal building that was the site of many ICE protests.

Supposedly, those probes would focus on a network supporting “violent opportunists and agitators.” In reality, the investigative reports that the federal government has turned over to defense attorneys show that undercover ICE agents secretly recorded at churches, libraries, and schools even when organizers stressed the importance of nonviolence.

In the case of Sunrise, undercover agents were already targeting the group before the killings of Pretti and Renee Good.

Sunrise is a national organization with a Twin Cities chapter. Long known for its aggressive climate advocacy, the youth-led group pivoted just before the start of the federal government’s crackdown on immigrants in Minnesota to fighting the Trump administration’s authoritarianism.

One of the group’s most famous early acts was occupying then-Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s office in support of the Green New Deal. It brought that same energy to the protests in Minneapolis, playing a key role in the nighttime noise protests targeting hotels in the Twin Cities that were allegedly hosting ICE agents. But it has always counseled its supporters to remain peaceful, Shiney-Ajay said.

“We are a strictly nonviolent movement. We make that very clear in almost every training we run, in all the meetings we run,” she said.

Yet almost as soon as Operation Metro Surge started, ICE agents were attending Sunrise trainings on the sly.

Undercover agents attended a “How to stop ICE” training that Sunrise hosted at a church on December 13. By December 22, an undercover agent had been added to the Signal group for planning one of Sunrise’s hotel protests. On January 9, two undercover agents attended a noise demonstration outside a Hilton Hotel, noting that a member of the crowd set off fireworks at one point.

The killing of Pretti — and the ensuing nationwide backlash against ICE — appears to have done nothing to slow the investigation. One week after Pretti’s slaying, two undercover agents attended a Sunrise Movement Twin Cities training on “resistance skills” hosted at a public library.

The meeting included primers on deescalation at protests, and the ICE agent noted that it was “made clear that the Sunrise Movement organization focused on ‘peaceful’ protests.”

That did not stop the undercover agent from making a private approach to one of the organizers, according to a report the agent produced. The agent told the organizer that he worked in construction and “could build items that might assist other groups with more ‘direct-action’ protests.” When the undercover agent declared that “going to jail did not bother him,” the organizer “acknowledged” the agent’s comments and took down his phone number, according to the report.

Kevin Riach, the attorney representing one of the defendants in the indictment targeting Minneapolis activists, said in a court filing this week that that report was one of several showing that ICE’s undercover agents “actively participated in organizing and directing the groups they were surveilling, at times working to entice people into discussing or committing crimes.”

By the start of March, the federal government had scaled down its immigration crackdown in Minneapolis — but it was continuing to investigate groups such as Sunrise.

On March 9, ICE sent a subpoena to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York for the nonprofit’s wire transactions dating back to January 1, 2023, long before Trump was even elected to his second term. That same date, ICE also sent a subpoena to the Clearing House, a private wire transfer company, for years of financial records from Sunrise and several labor unions.

The Sunrise Movement was never given notice of those subpoenas or an opportunity to contest them, Shiney-Ajay said.

Training for This Moment

None of the activists who were eventually charged in a June 16 indictment were members of the Sunrise Movement, Shiney-Ajay said.

ICE declined to offer an explanation for why it investigated Sunrise and the other groups.

“HSI investigates individuals and organizations when there is just and legal cause to do so and within the scope of its legal authorities. To preserve the integrity of our work and protect law enforcement sensitivities, we do not comment on ongoing investigations, investigative tactics, or procedures,” an agency spokesperson said.

While it had never been confirmed that ICE was closely studying the Sunrise Movement before this week, Shiney-Ajay said it had long been treated as a possibility. The group was specifically concerned that federal agents might act as provocateurs at protests.

“We put a lot of work into training de-escalation and safety leads at all of our protests,” she said. “I certainly think that that was a worthwhile investment, reading these things now.”

She said it was “telling” that the investigation was led by the Department of Homeland Security rather than the FBI, which might be constrained by more “rules and regulations.”

The revelation of the widespread ICE probe has already sparked another backlash.

The Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression, which has received funding from conservative and libertarian donors, said it found the investigation disturbing.

“Some activists have violated federal law, and the government is entirely justified in investigating and prosecuting them. But criminal conduct by some members of a movement does not justify government surveillance and investigation of anyone who shares their broader political goals. That type of aggressive scrutiny chills protected speech and association. It will likely make many Americans think twice before joining a protest, attending a meeting, donating to an advocacy organization, or speaking out at all,” said Aaron Terr, the group’s director of public advocacy.

On Thursday, a coalition of dozens of Minnesota groups promised that that they would not be cowed.

“We know the truth, and we will not be intimidated,” the groups said. “When self-serving politicians are losing, they lie and attempt political repression, trying to silence the voices of those who bravely stand up to them. Minnesotans will not be intimidated or divided by sham accusations or investigations of some of the countless groups and community members who organized, acted, and stood up together to protect their neighbors during Operation Metro Surge.”

Ignored quiet weapon of state control

The whole video is worth watching, but — as a former psychotherapist — I found the third segment on Big Pharma’s Zombification of Americans especially useful as they address one of the biggest and least spoken of tools of the corporate state. Love how, beyond the wildest of fiction, Garrett has the same last name as the town hosting CIA headquarters! No editor would let that one fly.

Can America ever be free of Epstein?

Flock is one of a growing number of unconstitutional AI-powered camera systems, known as Automated License Plate Readers (ALPRs or LPRs). In addition to Flock. there is another system called Axon, which — of course — has financial ties to Donald Trump and — wait for it — both Jeffrey Epstein and Israel! As journalist James Li reports, there has been a campaign to pay online influencers to go after Flock in order to open more of the market to Axon.

Now, in thousands of communities across the nation, without your consent, a simple trip to the grocery store or drive across town to help a sick relative is — according to Trumpstein’s corporate espionage state — the government’s business to know … track … record.

And the sick joke is Flock tech is deeply flawed, with one California community reporting a 71% error rate in police alerts triggered by a system the city forked out $450,000 of taxpayer money for.

As the Breaking Points segment below details, totally innocent people have been pulled over by cops with weapons drawn based upon completely wrong information. ICE has used Flock to illegally, detain, abuse and imprison innocent people. There have been numerous cases of police officers using access to Flock data to harass and track women.

But really, trust ‘em, big tech is watching out for us.

Day by day — sometimes hour by hour — it is clear the United States is in full-on collapse. A process initiated by the ‘plandemic’ and accelerated now to an “in-our-face” international drama by Donald Trump’s Israel-ordered war on Iran, it’s clear: it’s all collapsing.

The post-World War II American Empire is spent and done and the script of deception is scrapped.

As the corrupt Epstein Class power structure is increasingly obvious to more and more and the fraud of the scripted Kabuki theater Republican/Democrat drama is seen for the con that it is, people — on both the right and left — are turning from politics, seeing the glaring fraud of the entire system.

The real threat

Ultimately, the threat to our freedom and future is not so much from the Right or Left, it is from Above: the ruling pedophilic corporate Epstein Class. It is glaringly obvious. Any government that refuses to protect its children and prosecute those who hunt and harm them has lost any last pretense of legitimacy.

It’s over.

Yesterday, conservative commentator Tucker Carlson did a powerful address following a weekend meeting with former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green, soon-to-be ex-Rep. Thomas Massey, who was defeated in his recent reelection campaign after a hurricane of Zionist lobby big money to his opposition and former Trump administration Director of the United States National Counterterrorism Center Joe Kent, who resigned in protest of the illegal Trump/Israel war on Iran.

The group has strongly disowned the Republican Party and called for a third party. There have been rumors of Carlson running for president in 2028, which he has repeatedly denied.

But last night’s presentation by Carlson was not about political jockeying or intrigue. It was about what he — and I am assuming the others who met with him — feel America should be. What — instead of an corrupt, occupied, corporate polluted, morally compromised, warmongering nation of grotesque economic inequality — it could be.

Carlson presented a list of ten things the United States should be:

1. Fair

2. Sovereignty

3. Productivity

4. Beautiful

5. Healthy

6. Honest

7. Optimistic

8. Wise

9. Decent

10. United

To be honest, when I saw how long the video was I was only expecting to watch 20 minutes or so. I wound up watching it straight through and while I disagreed on a few details, I found myself in overall agreement with what Carlson feels the country should be.

He did not get into the politics of achieving the list. As in all long journeys of renewal, the first step is the vision of the destination.

We’re all imperfect

Many will discount Carlson for his past views and mistakes — many of which he readily acknowledges and apologizes for. Anyone involved in politics and journalism has made many mistakes and missed the obvious. I know I have. The difference with Carlson is that he acknowledges his shortcomings and apologizes. Something most in politics and journalism never do.

In this period of collapse and transition from brutal world hegemony and Zionist occupation, we have to find a new national path and way of being. I encourage you to put aside bias and listen carefully to what Carlson presents. Take notes on what you do and don’t agree with. From my perspective, I hope we can become what Carlson presents.

President Donald Trump’s most vocal opponents on the right were sowing the seeds for a future third-party political organization during a weekend get-together aimed at undercutting the Republican establishment.

The meeting at Tucker Carlson’s compound in Maine with Rep. Thomas Massie, former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and others — captured in a photo posted by Greene on Saturday — served as a launch pad for a possible independent presidential campaign focused on unwinding U.S. involvement in foreign conflicts.

“We said no more foreign wars and we meant it and supported Donald Trump because he made that promise. But he’s betrayed us all,” Greene wrote in the post. “The movement has begun.”

Joe Kent, the former Trump national security official who resigned earlier this year and attended the weekend confab with Carlson, said the group congregated to strategize on how to best organize their shared opposition to the war in Iran.

“There’s a lot more nuts-and-bolts work that needs to be done there,” Kent said in an interview on “The Young Turks,” the progressive talk show. “Running as a third-party candidate is challenging. Not impossible, but it is very challenging. But that’s kind of the consensus that we came to, that the current system just simply doesn’t work, and we have to find something new to save our country.”

Breaking from Trump

Carlson, Greene and Massie all backed Trump ahead of the 2024 election. But each one broke with Trump over the course of his second term as the Trump administration continued to coordinate military operations with Israel in the Middle East. Greene and Massie were also loudly critical of Trump’s opposition to releasing federal investigative documents relating to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, further drawing Trump’s ire.

It’s unclear who would lead the newborn movement. Kent said every attendee at the Maine meeting urged Carlson to run for president in 2028 with their group’s backing but noted that Carlson said he wouldn’t run.

“Hopefully he wakes up one day and Tucker says he’s going to run,” Kent said.

Carlson and Massie did not respond to requests for comment. Greene declined to comment.

The challenges facing third-party and independent presidential candidates are enormous. They must navigate different signature requirements and deadlines in each state just to get on the ballot. Past independent campaigns have been unable to compete financially with the two major parties.

The most recent third-party presidential campaign — Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s independent bid in 2024 — ended months before Election Day when Kennedy endorsed Trump. At the time he dropped out, Kennedy was polling in single digits and fighting lawsuits seeking to block him from the ballot in multiple states.

Anti-interventionism focus

Kent said the policy platform for the group’s hypothetical third-party campaign in 2028 would ignore most domestic matters and further emphasize their staunch anti-interventionism.

“I think it is having a very, very simple platform, and it’s acknowledging upfront, like, we are going to disagree on a lot of domestic policy and a lot of social issues,” Kent said. “At the end of the day, the president can talk a lot about all those things, but he really doesn’t have a lot of power.”

“We do agree that we don’t want Israel dictating our foreign policy,” he added. “We don’t want any more foreign wars.”

While the corporate media is giving the issue little coverage and hiding dark betrayal, the currently proposed National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) now moving through Congress is no run-of-the-mill legislation. It is an outright act of treason that would destroy our national sovereignty and have direct impacts on the rights, privacy and safety of every American.

Various sections of the NDAA would legally tie the United States military, intelligence agencies, weapons development and manufacturing to Israel. By merging the two governments there would be no meaningful Congressional oversight and control of military and intelligence policy regarding Israel: it would all be one.

Fascist Zionism would be firmly and formally branded onto our Constitution and ultimately in control of national security and our daily lives.

It is not too dramatic to say that passage of the current NDAA would be the end to the United States.

The proposal has passed the House with a bipartisan majority and is currently in the Senate. It’s critical to call both your senators NOW and keep calling them until the issue is resolved. At the same time, also let your representative know you oppose the current National Defense Authorization Act sections betraying the American people and if they recently voted in favor of the bill that you see them for the bought-off traitor they are.

Four Points To Make When Contacting Your Senators:

• The current NDAA is a direct attack on the national sovereignty of the United States.

• The NDAA sections handcuffing the United States to Israel are treasonous.

• If you vote for the current NDAA you are a traitor.

Instead of relying on direct U.S. military aid – an increasingly visible and politically contentious form of support – Israel is racing to embed itself more deeply in America’s military, intelligence, and national security apparatus in ways designed to outlast future administrations.

The assessment, written primarily by the CIA and circulated this week, describes discussions about expanding intelligence cooperation and the possibility of hosting a permanent U.S. military base on Israeli territory. It also says Israeli officials have been cultivating prominent figures in the American technology sector to build long-term political and financial support for the strategy. As corrupt and tilted toward the open mouths of the wealthy as the American system has always been, there was one small opportunity for the working class to carve out a modest bit of family wealth through the purchase of a home or small farm. Generations of workingclass Americans built small homes from the ground up or restored or remodeled homes in need of repair and from that investment and sweat labor were able to create some modest family wealth with a chance of passing it on to their kids.

While certainly it was not available to most minorities and many cities of privilege, home ownership was a possible pathway — a hopeful promise — for many to have a piece of the American Dream and some measure of not just economic security, but economic autonomy.

But beginning with the 2007 Great Recession, Obama bank bailouts and millions of foreclosures, rising interest rates and the convenient COVID crisis, the promise of home ownership has been methodically dismantled shingle by shingle. As wages stagnate and basic needs like groceries, healthcare and childcare evaporate for young families, the average current price of a home in the United States has risen to $436,523.

Again, that is average, meaning the cost in many areas of the country zoom far beyond that headspinning price.

With the ever-growing Trumpstein Inflation Tax (TIT) for basics like food and utilities, home foreclosure starts were up 26% from a year ago, while completed foreclosures increased 59%.

Home ownership in urban areas is substantially less than in suburban and rural areas.

Cashing in your dream

As the reports linked below document, the dream of family home ownership is under attack by hedge funds, private equity gangsters, home equity loan scammers, the spreading infection of vast corporate land grabs and now neighborhood-destroying AI surveillance centers. As with all things under capitalism, your home, kids, neighborhood and future is just another commodity — a dull, lifeless thing — to be monetized and bargained away.

As an American, the crimes of the United States government and its Israeli handlers can be mind numbing. But occasionally, a single photo undeniabily embodies the reality of who — and what — the US really is.

Several hours ago I came across the photo above of 1-year-old Palestinian Issam Fadi Nabiyye. Consider it a portrait of what the United States really means when it pontificates to the world about democracy and family values. This tiny, starving child is the reality of who America really is and who — through their selective disinterest of what the (not ‘our’) government does in our name and with our tax money — we are.

As frustrated and cynical as I could be about the oozy American blood trail of innocents from Vietnam and Central America to the Bush/Obama Middle East wars for oil, the daily slaughter of innocents in Gaza has been a whole new in-the-face reality of swaggering American brutality and callous evil.

With a supposed peace agreement in Gaza that the US and Israel violate hourly and the distraction of Donald Trump’s trumped up war with Iran, the ongoing killing and starvation in Gaza has faded into the background, as the long shadow of cynical US and Israeli cruelty grows darker by the hour.

Every innocent child killed in Gaza and now the West Bank and Lebanon is being killed by the United States. While it may be an Israeli ‘Defense’ Force sniper who pulls the trigger for a head-and-heart ‘double-tap’ murder of a Palestinian toddler, make no mistake: the bullet, rifle and money to fund it all is all American.

We are doing the killing and starving.

We could stop it in a moment.
Cut off the funding.
Find a single vertebrae for a spine.
Stand with the rest of the world in condemning Israel and Zionism.

But we won’t because we are no better than Israel.

In fact, through our flaccid compliance, we are worse.

World Famine Authorities Warn Most Gazans Still Suffering ‘Crisis’-Level Hunger

Although the Gaza Strip is no longer officially enduring famine, a majority of Palestinians there are suffering “crisis or worse” levels of hunger in an emergency that is expected to worsen in the coming months if Israel’s bombardment and siege—which many experts say is a key component of an ongoing genocide—continue.

The Integrated Phase Food Security Classification—which ranks food security levels on a scale of 1 to 5—on Thursday published an analysis showing that from mid-April to the end of June, more than 1.2 million people, or 59% of Gaza’s population, were experiencing IPC Phase 3 (crisis) or worse levels of food insecurity. This included about 212,000 people in IPC Phase 4 (emergency). All five Gaza governorates were classified as being in Phase 3.

“After two years of conflict, the October 2025 ceasefire has led to measurable gains in humanitarian access and overall conditions across the Gaza Strip,” IPC said in a statement. “However, the situation remains deeply fragile, with civilians continuing to endure harsh conditions.”

This marks an improvement from a year ago, when a “worst-case scenario” was developing into a Phase 5 (catastrophe) famine that was formally declared by the IPC in August 2025. At least hundreds of Palestinians, many of them children, have died from malnutrition since Israel launched its US-backed war on Gaza in retaliation for the Hamas-led attack of October 7, 2023.

The IPC declared last December that while Gaza was no longer in a famine, the situation remained critical for the war-ravaged Palestinians there. The new IPC report warns that two-thirds of Gaza’s population are projected to face Phase 3 crisis conditions by the end of the year.

The organization also said that 74,200 Palestinian children under the age of 5 in Gaza will likely need treatment for acute malnutrition through next April.

Responding to the new IPC data, United Nations Children’s Fund Executive Director Catherine Russell said Thursday that “acute malnutrition has fallen, but many children are still going hungry, and some children may never fully recover from prolonged lack of proper nutrition.”

“This progress shows that when humanitarian access improves and aid gets through, children can be pulled back from the brink,” she added. “But it rests on a supplementary feeding program that doesn’t reach all children, and where funding is running out.”

Israeli forces have killed or wounded more than 250,000 Palestinians since then, and forcibly displaced, starved, or sickened over 2 million others since then, resulting in worldwide allegations of genocide embodied in an International Court of Justice case filed by South Africa at the end of 2023 and now formally supported by nearly 20 nations.

Leading global famine experts accused Israel of deliberately starving Palestinians in Gaza. The International Criminal Court arrest warrants issued in late 2024 for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant, his former defense minister who ordered the “complete siege” of Gaza, accuse the pair of crimes against humanity and war crimes, including murder and forced starvation.

Fully bipartisan genocide

Like many members of their public, Israeli and US officials under both the Biden and Trump administrations initially denied that Israel was starving Gazans. However, Israeli officials warned in private that Gaza was facing starvation, while US President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and other administration figures have acknowledged that Palestinians were starving to death in the strip. That did not stop them from continuing to give billions of dollars in US armed aid to Israel.

In response to the new IPC report, acting United Nations World Food Program Executive Director Carl Skau said that “there is progress on food security in Gaza, but it is fragile and can easily be reversed.”

“The overall humanitarian situation remains brutal: Families lack water, sanitation, and medicine,” Skau added. “We need sustained access, funding, and stability so people of Gaza can begin recovery.”

The heads of various United Nations agencies concurred that a lasting peace—which Israel is not allowing as it continues bombing and besieging Gaza despite a nominal nine-month ceasefire—is imperative for that recovery.

“Food security in Gaza cannot recover unless local food production starts again and farmers, herders, fishers, and other producers can rebuild their livelihoods,” UN Food and Agriculture Organization Director-General Qu Dongyu said on Thursday. “Producers need access to farmland and the sea, and to seeds, tools, livestock supplies, and other agricultural inputs, as well as technical support.”

“Restrictions on agricultural imports and humanitarian supplies must be lifted,” Qu added. “Without these essentials, food production, and security will remain a pressing situation.”

The IPC said that “recent gains remain fragile,” and that “advancing peace plans is essential to support recovery, enable the safe return of displaced populations, and help households rebuild their livelihoods.”

But if you watch any of the videos of Iranian and Russian missiles zipping past meandering Patriot missiles ($4-6 million each) leaves one wondering what the hell we paid for.

Then there’s the MQ-9 Reaper drones, costing us $16 million to $30 million and as much as $54 millions each. As of early July, Iran has shot down 30 MQ-9 Reapers using a small, sub-sonic 358 Iranian missile designed specifically to take down the Reaper at a cost of only $20,000 … same as a small car.

The Iranians literally could take down only one MQ-9 for every 1,500 of their 358 drones and break even. But their kill ratio is much better than that.

But give the US military credit, when it comes to a courageous Tomahawk cruise missile attack slaughtering up to 168 including, 120 dangerous little girls ages 7-12 at an elementary school in Minab, Iran, the Pentagon was at the top of their game. Even doing a triple-tap Tomahawk strike to make sure they incinerated any last little survivor.

In the past day, the US has ramped up bombings of civilian bridges, a childrens hospital, power centers and other civilian infrastructure. Like the Minab murders, all war crimes. There is no honor to be found in the US military in these obscenities. Every member, from the general ordering the attack to the guy pressing the launch button to the technicians prepping the missiles to the blank-eyed desk drone processing the paperwork for the next order from the war contractor and the factory worker on the assembly line, are all complicit in war crimes.

So too, average Americans who willfully remain ignorant and silent about what “their” government is doing on their dime and in their name.

The coming shit tsunami

With the inevitability of US troops on the ground and resulting shutdown of shipping in both the Strait of Hormuz and Red Sea, Donald Trump’s explosive diarrhea is soon to be a tsunami.

Understand that the upcoming loss of American troops is a calculated strategy — not a mistake — of the man who has referred to dead and wounded veterans as “suckers and losers.” It’s another Don con job and, unfortunately, most Americans will fall for it.

“What’ll happen is we’ll hit a roadblock,” warns military and foreign affairs analyst Brandon Wiecherts. “I think we’re going to lose a lot of Marines and a lot of airborne and at that point, Trump will go to the people of the American Republic — so-called — and we’ll say in honor of their memory we must escalate and [Trump will claim the] need more for more power — to do this.

There are many factors and numerous goons who have led us to this horrible point of war and looming economic collapse, but the prime actor I blame is the collapse of American journalism.

As a one-time print journalist and political cartoonist, I have no illusions about a heroic ‘golden age’ of American media. Numerous books have been written on the influence of and complicity with major media by the CIA, Wall Street corporate sociopaths and grubby politicians. While I never worked at that national level, I saw how my paper’s editor was giddy every week going off for lunch at the local Petroleum Club in downtown Albuquerque, located atop the city’s largest bank building. Soon after I was hired he took me with him one week to meet some of the “important guys.”

Felt like I needed a bleach bath afterward.

But the current failure of the American media has been monumental and especially grotesque, given the looming world-shattering consequences we face. With rare exception, corporate media has echoed administration talking points and Israeli smears and lies. Instead of challenging those in power, they provide a shiny bright platform from which to deceive.

The debacle is epitomized in the recent takeover of the once (long ago) respected CBS News by billionaire Israeli agents and mismanaged by Zionist PR hack Bari Wiess.

A real journalist in action

One of the too few true journalists in this country is Jeremy Scahill, of Drop Site News, a news site that has featured some of the best coverage of the US/Israeli genocides in Gaza, West Bank, Lebanon and now Iran. Scahill has also written several important books (noted below) tracking America’s decades-long bloody path of lies and corruption, cowardly war crimes and torture to this present moment.

On Tuesday, Scahill took the lead in an interview with Democratic congressman Ro Khanna (D-CA) on his recent detention by Israeli settler thugs and Israeli ‘Defense’ Force goons in the West Bank. I want to acknowledge Khanna’s willingness to be interviewed about the dangerous event and his candid admission of having lacked full understanding of the racist hell Palestinians face in Israel until it was in his face.

But there was only so far Khanna would go and Scahill did his job as a true journalist challenging the congressman’s hesitancy to speak the full, obvious truth of the US-funded Israeli state and the legal and moral right of the Gazans to defend themselves against the crimes of Israel and the American “shield” we provide for Israeli snipers.

The one-on-one portion of the video below is in the first 22 minutes, but I urge you to watch the entire half-hour for Scahill’s observation about the exchange and the larger moral questions the media and United States want to ignore or — at best — selectively and timidly acknowledge.

The D.C. and corporate media Bullshit Meter will be bouncing off the wall for the next couple days.

Today’s big news is of the death of one of the darkest and duplicitous players in the US Congress, Senator Lindsey Graham. As of this writing, there are no details of his death other than he died suddenly at home.

A quick scroll through mainstream media found bipartisan “thoughts n’ prayers” posturing on Graham’s death and career. The D.C. and corporate media Bullshit Meter will be bouncing off the wall for the next couple days.

Through his constant support for expanding the ever-growing War Department budget (now 63% of discretionary spending, not including Intel agencies and secret funding) in service to America’s Forever Wars for Corporate Profit, Graham was one of the biggest warmongers in Congress. Literally hundreds of millions have died and been displaced by his grotesque war-first Congressional record.

And then of course, there was his servitude not to his South Carolina constituents, but to the fascist state of Israel. Graham has always been a reliably, obsequious supporter of Israeli genocide, noting, “I will be with Israel until my dying day.” He warned Republicans, “If America pulls the plug on Israel, God will pull the plug on us.”

As recently as March 10, Graham called out to his constituents, "I'm going back to South Carolina, I am asking them to send their sons and daughters to the Mideast.”

Of course as a bachelor with no children and would never have to join his constituents’ children on any frontline, Graham had no skin in the game. Routine for all Congressional warhawks.

All that was on a policy level, but on a personal level Graham had absolutely no line he wouldn’t cross going from being a loud critic of Donald Trump to one of the biggest and most flaccid Trump suck-ups on Capital Hill.

More importantly, Graham was one of the biggest supporters and legislative bulls for the lethal American Corporate War State that, even as I write, murders innocent children across the Middle East. As such, from my perspective, good riddance and my sincere condolences to Satan.

After the surprise upset by Democratic Socialists in several Democratic primaries, the latest narrative card dealt from Donald Trump and Republicans is that the Democrats are a bunch of communists. Trump made the accusation at least 81 times last week. In one 30-minute rambling speech he referenced “communist” and “communism” 14 times and on cue the perky parrots across right wing media were doomscrolling the looming communist threat.

Trump warned, “Communism is a mortal threat to American liberty”, and Democrats are now “hardcore, godless communists.”

White House press lymph node Karoline Leavitt said in a recent Fox News appearance, “This is not your granddaddy’s Democrat Party. These are communists!”

All of this is especially entertaining given that the chief adviser to Sen. Joe McCarthy, leader of the 1950s Red Scare, was New York Jewish attorney Roy Cohn, the man who coached Donald Trump to become the tacky gangster he is. Interestingly, Cohn — a closeted homosexual — was also a pedophile and sex trafficker of young boys.

Talk about the perfect mentor suckling Donald Trump to the grifter he is!

So now, according to Trump and your average Republican, if you dare think Americans should have healthcare and a living wage in a fair economy, a reasonable chance to buy a home, safe drinking water and affordable childcare and send their kids to college with the right to speak freely, you’re a damn commie.

Everyone’s talking about how progressive Democrat Graham Platner has been forced to drop out of his Senate race following allegations of sexual assault. Personally I never paid attention to Platner’s campaign, because I long ago stopped taking Democrats seriously.

The first clue that Platner was a shitty person wasn’t his military service or his Blackwater stint or his tattoo or the sexual assault stuff, it was that he ran for high office in the US government under one of America’s two mainstream parties. That’s damning in and of itself.

The experiment has been run, and the results are in. You can’t conduct a socialist revolution using a party whose primary function is to suppress socialist revolution. This has been conclusively established.

I said this on Twitter today and some DSA guy told me the best way to make changes in US politics is to work within the Democratic Party to elect left-wing candidates and advance progressive agendas.

I said, “You guys have been trying that for ten years with nothing to show for it.”

I mean, how much longer is it going to take before people admit that the “change the party from within” strategy isn’t working? Do you want another twenty years? Another fifty? Do you need to spend the next century watching a handful of vaguely progressive imperialists getting elected to Congress and then getting primaried out by opponents with mountains of special interest funding before you admit that you’re not making any meaningful gains? Our planet could be lifeless before then.

The Bernie Sanders “revolution” was ten years ago. Large factions of the American left took up his call to take over the Democratic Party using primary elections throughout the nation, and ever since then it’s been a two-steps-forward, two-steps-back addition of zeros. The people never got President Bernie, and the few progressive gains made on Capitol Hill were either kicked out like Cori Bush and Jamaal Bowman or went full pro-establishment like John Fetterman. The few who stuck around have turned out to be perpetually disappointing empire managers like AOC, who know how to straddle the line between left-wing lip service and status quo swamp monster.

It’s time to admit the commies were right, kids. The factions on the so-called “far left” who’ve been rejecting electoral politics and calling for real revolution against a system designed to suppress leftward movement have been completely vindicated over the last decade. You cannot change the system using a political party that is designed to prevent change.

The Atlantic has an article out by David Brooks titled “Democrats Became Great by Fighting the Left,” and in a sense this claim is absolutely correct. It’s not correct in the sense that David Brooks suggests, but it is correct that the reason the Democratic Party has been allowed to remain so dominant is because it is such an effective tool for thwarting all leftward political movement in the United States.

In the article, Brooks (who last year published an article titled “The Epstein Story? Count Me Out” shortly before showing up in the Epstein Files) begins by rehashing the same tired old Hillary 2016 talking points arguing that the loony left is full of communists who must be forcefully opposed by the sensible center. What’s more interesting is the brief history lesson that comes later, in which Brooks notes that after World War II the Democratic Party leadership took action deliberately “in order to block the leftward advance” toward socialism within its ranks.

That’s all the Democratic Party has ever existed to do. If it wasn’t such a successful tool for suppressing leftward advancement, the party would not be permitted to exist as a mainstream political force by the capitalist oligarchs who run the country.

It is the Democratic Party’s job to prevent peace, equality, justice and socialism. That’s the only reason it is permitted to exist in the hub of the capitalist empire, and that is the only reason why ten years of effort to change the party from within has produced no meaningful results.

The experiment has been run, and the results are in. You can’t conduct a socialist revolution using a party whose primary function is to suppress socialist revolution. This has been conclusively established.

It’s time to find another way.

To be honest, I had not been paying much attention to the Graham Platner Senate campaign in Maine. I’d rather watch bread turn moldy than track the rerun uniparty dramas.

I knew about the working guy, former-Marine-turned-oyster-fisherman narrative and the friction with the corporate twits running the Democratic Party. Until the sex scandal blew things apart this week I didn’t know of his wealthy family, private schooling background or work as a corporate Blackwater hired gun.

As with all things in supposed progressive Democratic Party politics, it turned out that little to nothing was as it seemed. Given his often errant personal life, I didn’t doubt the overall narrative of the two women who accused him of sexual abuse but I was very suspect of the timing of the Politico story and following piece in The New York Times.

Targeted

Nothing is more despised in the Democratic Party than any member who dares step out of the ordered, obedient corporate ranks to discuss class or bring up the needs of the working class. The most obvious example of that was the kneecapping of the Bernie Sanders presidential campaign in 2016 to push Wall Street scarecrow Hillary Clinton on us, ushering in the fascist regime of the Great Orange One bloviator.

As the World Socialist Web Site noted after Platner won the June primary:

“Platner’s promoters — large sections of the Democratic Party and the trade union apparatus, most avidly its so-called ‘progressive’ wing — present him as a genuine representative of the working class. He is nothing of the sort.”

The WSWS article below gives a good overview and analysis of what was really going on with Platner’s sudden rise.

The two Breaking Points segments following that address the shameful journalistic deceit and malpractice of Politico and New York Times and the strong arm coup by the Democratic Party to silence the Maine voters who voted for not just Platner but the portions of his anti-establishment message that resulted in the largest primary win in Maine history.

Once again, voters have been betrayed. As journalist Saagar Enjetti notes in a message directed to Platner:

“People stuck their necks out for you. How many millions of dollars did he raise? Millions. People donated their hard-earned money to you. And you fucked them over, man. You really did. And he’s got to live with that, you know, not with just what he did to these women. He betrayed all these supporters’ trust.”

The campaign of Graham Platner, the Democratic nominee for US Senate in Maine, is collapsing under the weight of a new sexual assault allegation, exposing not merely the personal degradation of the candidate but the political forces that manufactured and promoted him as a “working-class” tribune.

On Monday, Politico published an interview with Jenny Racicot, who accused Platner of raping her in 2021. Racicot repeated the allegation later that night in an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper. Platner has denied the allegation. Within hours, leading Democrats who had tolerated or excused months of earlier revelations, including his Nazi-linked Totenkopf tattoo and history as a soldier and mercenary for US imperialism, rushed to call for him to withdraw.

The responsibility for this political fraud rests above all with Sanders and those around him, including Khanna, Jacobin, the DSA milieu and the AFL-CIO bureaucracy. It is an important political lesson for workers and young people in Maine and across the country.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Chair Kirsten Gillibrand called on Platner to withdraw, with the DSCC declaring it would not fund the Maine Senate race if he remained the nominee. California Rep. Ro Khanna and other endorsers withdrew support as well.

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, who had been Platner’s most prominent national booster and appeared with him under the fraudulent “Fighting Oligarchy” banner, waited longer than others, but by Tuesday he posted on social media that he “recommended that he step aside.”

Under Maine election law, if Platner withdraws by July 13 the Democrats can select a replacement by July 27, a procedure that is now clearly being prepared.

False marketing

The debacle confirms what the World Socialist Web Site explained from the beginning. After Platner won the June primary, the WSWS wrote that while the vote expressed real anger over inequality, “Platner’s promoters—large sections of the Democratic Party and the trade union apparatus, most avidly its so-called ‘progressive’ wing—present him as a genuine representative of the working class. He is nothing of the sort.”

Platner’s “working-class” identity was from the beginning a political marketing product. His supposed credentials for this position were the fact that he was a veteran, “oysterman,” and rural Mainer, combined with his vulgarity, tattoos, profanity and anti-billionaire demagogy. But this had nothing to do with the working class as a social force.

In fact, Platner is a small businessman, a former Marine, Army soldier and Blackwater/Constellis contractor, and a loyal Democrat. His social background and career belong not to the proletariat but to the upper-middle-class layers around the Democratic Party.

However, Platner’s manufactured persona was politically useful to Democratic-aligned consultants, the trade-union apparatus, Sanders/DSA operatives, and liberal media figures searching for a way to repackage the Democratic Party after its catastrophic loss of working class legitimacy.

Right-wing character of the campaign

Platner’s own platform exposes the right-wing character of the campaign. On immigration, he combines denunciations of Trump’s “mass deportation machine” with the demand for “strong border security.” On the Pentagon, he does not call for an end to imperialist war or the dismantling of the military machine. “Send me to Washington and I will work tirelessly to rebuild the American military,” his campaign website declares.

Platner’s position on Gaza followed the same pattern. After issuing limited criticisms of Israel’s crimes, he marked the second anniversary of October 7 by adopting the language of Schumer and the Zionist establishment, writing that “Hamas launched a horrific terrorist attack against the people of Israel” and calling for “ALL the hostages” to be released and “this war” to end.

The Totenkopf tattoo emblazoned on his chest for nearly two decades was never a secondary issue. It was politically diagnostic. Platner acquired the Nazi-linked death’s-head tattoo while serving in the Marines. The self-declared history buff, who attended private school and George Washington University, claimed ignorance, even though the infamous symbol is associated with the SS and Nazi concentration camp guards, and earlier reporting cited a former acquaintance who said Platner had referred to it as his “Totenkopf.”

The Totenkopf tattoo did not merely expose Platner. It exposed the social and political forces that manufactured him. A movement genuinely rooted in the working class would seek to educate, elevate and politically clarify workers. The Democratic Party and the DSA milieu instead seek to promote backwardness, mimic the vulgarity of Trumpism, and keep social anger trapped inside a bourgeois-imperialist party.

Upon the tattoo revelation, Sanders, Khanna and the pseudo-left rushed to defend Platner as a “working-class candidate,” supposedly unfairly maligned by “the corrupt campaign-finance system,” in the words of Sanders.

The most important question

The most important question is not why Platner collapsed, but why he was promoted in the first place, and by what social forces. Sanders held events with him under the “Fighting Oligarchy” banner. Ro Khanna defended him after the Nazi tattoo revelation. Jacobin, the unofficial press organ of the DSA, published repeated defenses, including one by David Sirota that stated that the debate over whether Platner was sufficiently “working class” had ignored that he “enlisted in the military for multiple combat tours for his country.”

“Progressive” commentator Krystal Ball declared herself more “ride or die” for him after the Nazi tattoo revelation. The United Auto Workers bureaucracy, led by DSA darling Shawn Fain, likewise waved away Platner’s record and Nazi tattoo and presented him as someone who had “chosen to stand with the working class.”

Joining the UAW, DSA and “progressives” in boosting Platner’s campaign were Michelle Goldberg of the New York Times and David Remnick in the New Yorker. Goldberg wrote that Platner was “nothing like the edgelord caricature” she encountered online, called him “largely convincing” in person, and compared his campaign energy to Obama. In another column for the Times she favorably compared Platner to a “Democratic version of the Tea Party,” writing that voters were seeking “to upend a system that they believe has failed them.”

The WSWS proceeded on an entirely different basis. It began from the class character of the Democratic Party, the AFL-CIO bureaucracy, the Sanders operation and the imperialist state. In several articles, it exposed the character of the Platner campaign and warned of the debacle it would produce.

Dem Party hybrid

Platner is a hybrid of two Democratic Party types. One is the “CIA Democrat” identified by the WSWS in 2018. The other is the Fetterman model: the affluent, college-educated right-wing politician costumed as an authentic representative of the working class through dress, mannerisms and regional branding. Platner combined both: the veteran/mercenary credentials of the national-security Democrat with the vulgar, rough-hewn affect of the pseudo-populist.

Ten years ago, Hillary Clinton referred to Trump voters as the “basket of deplorables.” Now the ruling class manufactures “deplorable” personas to market to workers. Both express the same contempt for the working class.

Thousands of people donated money, volunteered time, attended meetings and placed their hopes in a campaign that was presented to them as a vehicle for fighting oligarchy, war and corruption. That energy was directed into another attempt to refurbish the Democratic Party, one of the two parties of American capitalism, imperialist war and dictatorship.

The responsibility for this political fraud rests above all with Sanders and those around him, including Khanna, Jacobin, the DSA milieu and the AFL-CIO bureaucracy. It is an important political lesson for workers and young people in Maine and across the country.

Today’s national circle-jerk celebration of the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution is wearing about as well as a set of 100,000-mile spiked truck tires. On and on, we hear reality-free call-outs bragging on about “American Freedom and Democracy”. Blathering idiocy about “our Democratic Republic government-by-the-people-for-the-people”…yada, yada.

This week’s Congressional House hearings on the brutally dark history of the CIA’s Nazi-level MKUltra mind control and human experimentation program exposed one of the darkest crevices of this government’s trademark depravity.

Trump’s collapsed concert and near-empty National State Fair honoring his dusty 80th birthday have actually been the perfect events for observing the hollow, emptied-out, crazed reality of the nation.

Eviscerated

Dug down in trillions of mounting debt, non-stop wars, growing poverty, torching of the last scraps of the “American Dream”, eviscerated industrial capacity, lack of health care, record breaking levels of drug addiction and soaring rates of suicide, Americans are in deep doo-doo on this red-white-n-blue 250th.

Adding to the indignity, we are occupied, bought off, dominated and blackmailed by a racist, genocidal, theocratic fascist state of 9 million lunatics in a country the size of New Jersey, fixated on the mass murder of children.

As armed government Gestapo goons illegally round up, detain and kill people without a hint of due process and college kids are jailed and kicked out of college for what they speak or write, on this July 4th we need to mourn and accept the fact that we have been made free of freedom and that a nation we have bullied and sanctioned for almost half-a-century has militarily kicked our ass and economically cornered us, all in service and obedience to that tiny fascist nation of child-slaughtering crazies.

A guidebook to real independence

Below you will find a short excerpt from historian Tad Stoermer’s recently released book “A Resistance History Of The United States”.

Stoermer not only lays out the ignored and hidden history of the American Revolution led by a cadre of wealthy land and slave owners to ultimately protect and amplify their own wealth, but to also neuter and diminish any efforts of meaningful structural reform or care of the entire population. I was absolutely gobsmacked to hear the Congressional House testimony on the treasonous history of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), including testimony by heroic journalist Tom O’Neil, author of the astounding book Chaos: Charles Manson, The CIA and the Secret History of the Sixties (2020), in which O’Neil lays out the direct connections of the CIA to Charles Manson and the wave of drug use led by psychedelic guru and CIA actor Timothy Leary, that numbed and destroyed the anti-war left.

If you want to understand the depraved, callous brutality embodied by the United States, the CIA is the direct source of much of what we are now suffering — and about to suffer.

From the fascist coups of the 1950s to the state-sponsored assassinations of JFK, MLK, RFK Jr. and Malcolm X and the explosion of the drug epidemic across the country, the CIA has been — and remains — at the center. The agency’s death grip on the nation has long been yoked to Israeli intelligence. A treasonous connection about to be deepened and turbocharged by sections 224 and 662 of the current National ‘Defense’ Authorization Act, now being leveraged by AIPAC and the Israeli lobby through Congress.

Secret medical experimentation

The CIA is directly responsible for the deaths of hundreds of millions around the world and millions more continue to die daily, including many Americans who were killed through immoral secret medical experimentation programs.

At a time of an increasingly complicit corporate media enabling the deceit of the corrupt political and economic system, coverage of dissent and challenging the corporate state narrative is becoming rarer by the day. In all brittle fascist states, information and contrary views — even modest questioning of the dominant lies — is something to be squashed and buried.

Thank God for the alternative media and ever-expanding ecosystem of alternative news organizations like Double Down News, Breaking Points, The Electronic Intifada, Democracy Now!, More Perfect Union and podcasters like Dialogue Works, Judging Freedom, George Galloway and, yes, even the Tucker Carlson Network. (Feel free to add your favorites to the comments below.)

There is room and need for inserting resistance into local and community media. And it is easy and affordable to do. In my community, the weekly newspaper recently announced they would no longer publish letters to the editor. The reason was as lame as it was limp and a betrayal of the First Amendment. It was odd because when readership surveys were done at the newspaper I reported for, letters to the editor were second only to local sports coverage.

The chatter in the community has been that threats had been made against the paper.

A few months before that change, I began running ads in the paper. The first was a quarter page ad calling for the Medicare For All-ignoring Congress to lose their taxpayer-funded health care coverage.

Reasonable and totally fair, right?

Since then I have run a few ads on Trump’s Epstein Class and the US/Israel genocides.

This past week, I ran the above ad directed at the Wisconsin 8th Congressional District Rep. Tony Wied (R-WI), calling on him to support Rep. Thomas Massie’s (R-TN) call for a Congressional investigation of the deadly attack on the USS Liberty, 59 years ago.

The ads have ranged from $87 to $345 for the quarter page ad. The one above was $107.11. The newspaper has a circulation of 18,000, with free subscriptions to households in two communities. Additionally, this is a tourist area, so the paper is picked up by visitors from Chicago and and other Midwest cities and circulates beyond the immediate area.

Amplifying and echoing

I’ve thought about how a group of local activists could pool cash to regularly run ads in their local newspapers or community newsletters. They could do general ads or specifically focus on an issue or theme, like economic justice, human rights or the climate crisis. They could be general information ads or calling — as the one above — for specific action.

Given the freedom-shredding fascist threat we face and built-in media bias, any message of resistance and unity needs to be amplified and echoed as much as possible.

Recently, a collection of original protest signs by a local activist has also been added to the website and that work is also available for free use. Color ads cost more to run, but most of the time color cartoons can be copied in black and white.

How Israel And Its Agents Hijacked British Democracy & Freedom Of Speech

In the Financial Times of 25 April, the conservative columnist Camilla Cavendish wrote casually of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s “vanquishing of the anti-Semitic Corbynite left.”

She writes such false oversimplifications regularly, like many other political commentators in the British mainstream media. Labour’s “anti-Semitism” during the years of Jeremy Corbyn — 2015-2020 – as leader of the then-opposition Labour Party is taken journalistically as a given. It is a throwaway piece of reporters’ “dash-matter” to describe his and his supporters’ identities, then and now.

A lie has entered the political language most people use.

Killing Corbynism sets out Israel’s final capture of Britain’s political class and commentariat during the past decade and the smearing of all Israel’s opponents or critics as bigots, anti-Semites, racists and terrorists.

Gordon-Nesbitt shows how the Zionist campaign helped to defeat Corbyn in his attempts to become prime minister of a proper, socialist, human-rights-protective British government: first in 2017, when he did surprisingly well; and again in 2019, when he did not.

The Fifth Column

Israel and its British-based Fifth Column of propagandists and character assassins helped deliver the party leadership to his deputy, Starmer, now prime minister, an active Zionist and supporter of Israel before and since the start of its genocide against Gaza’s Palestinians after 7 October 2023.

A similar campaign – by present-day Labour under Starmer and by Israel’s teams in the British media, politics, public life, parliament, business and the arts and including Zionist organizations posing as charitable institutions – is under way now, this time against the Green Party. This leftist party has been picking up much electoral support among the many British who support the Palestinian cause.

Although Corbyn has been a London Member of Parliament since 1983, and was known as a leftist supporting a wide range of human rights causes, it was not until he suddenly became leader of the Labour Party in opposition, after the Conservative election victory of 2015, that he drew the focused attentions of Israel and its rainbow alliance of backers and workers in the UK’s establishments.

The coffers of the pro-Israel lobby are filled by businesses and Zionist organizations here and in Israel.

The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its Ministry of Strategic Affairs are at the heart of the successful deception campaign to merge criticism of Israel – or criticism of Zionism as a political movement – with traditional, racist anti-Semitism.

The book lists 60 of these Israeli front organizations, many of them posing as charities. Gordon-Nesbitt focuses on nine charities from the Zionist alliance, the best known being the Board of Deputies of British Jews, the Campaign Against Antisemitism and UK Lawyers for Israel.

In 2015, these and other groups, including Israel’s hard-working teams of propagandists and supporters at Labour Party HQ, in the Labour parliamentary party and at local council level, were deployed to abuse Corbyn, lie about his past, create false “anti-Semitic” incidents and tropes for him, and, using disinformation combined with hysterical and often foul-mouthed imprecations, to paint him as a racist and Jew-hater.

Period of shame

The book is packed with examples, but the two that stick in my mind from the time – for me, a terrible period of shame about British politics and journalism – are the “Muralgate” affair and “Wreathgate.”

“Muralgate” emerged in a blog in 2015, which reported that in 2012 Corbyn had objected publicly (on Facebook) to the destruction of a mural painted on a London wall by a leftist street artist. This showed six capitalists sitting at a table borne on the backs of faceless black and brown men. Two of the capitalists were Jewish, Lord Rothschild and Paul Warburg. The Israel machine went into overdrive.

Observer journalist Nick Cohen was asked on Twitter: “Is there a difference in [sic] supporting anti-Semites and being one?” Three years later the mural was resurrected by one of Corbyn’s most virulent parliamentary enemies, the MP Luciana Berger. Pro-Israel organizations called it “blatantly anti-Semitic.”

It was not. It was, plainly, a leftist commentary on the capitalist system. But “Lady” Berger (after losing her seat in the 2019 elections upon quitting the Labour Party as a pre-election attack on Corbyn) is now in the House of Lords and Corbyn is a backbench independent MP, expelled from Labour.

Another egregious case was “Wreathgate.”

Just before the general election of June 2017, the London Sunday Times (owned by Rupert Murdoch) and The Jewish Chronicle, London’s Zionist weekly, published stories saying that in 2014 Corbyn had attended a wreath-laying event in Tunis, former HQ of the Palestine Liberation Organization, for Palestinian terrorists involved in the 1972 Munich Olympic killings of Israeli athletes.

The story was nonsense.

The ceremony was a memorial event for an Israeli air strike on the PLO’s area, in October 1985, which killed as many as 70 Palestinians and 25 Tunisians. This was where and why Corbyn laid his wreath. Such facts never hindered this much-repeated story; and it took its place among the stores of ammunition plundered to assassinate Corbyn during the coming five years.

It has to be said that Corbyn’s grip on answering these charges was sometimes loose, and he tended to make apologies when no apologies were necessary, all of which the author makes clear. But the tidal waves of lies and misreporting were probably unstoppable by any single politician or party system.

Media lies

The BBC was a prime mover in all this.

I remember many occasions on which a BBC report or discussion would have the Zionist or pro-Zionist accusers repeating false charges on air against Corbyn, nearly all citing his or his party’s “anti-Semitism.” For the required “balance,” Labour apparatchiks, often senior right-wingers – the very people who were the dedicated enemies of Corbyn within Labour – would explain how they were trying to deal with anti-Semitism, admitting thereby that it existed in Labour.

The debate was rigged. Hardly ever did a pro-Corbyn Labour voice get an airing.

The climax came in the BBC’s prime-time, so-called “flagship” current affairs program Panorama, titled “Is Labour Antisemitic?” on 10 July 2019, five months before the general election. It was presented by a freelance regular on the program, John Ware, a Zionist, who later formed part of a consortium that bought The Jewish Chronicle.

The documentary largely featured pro-Israel Labour Party MPs and staff complaining – in often emotional tones – of anti-Semitism. However, they were not identified as the Israel apparatchiks they were. It was a shocking piece of slanted journalism.

The BBC defended it to the last and even used excerpts in their news bulletins. Ofcom, the broadcasters’ regulatory body, did nothing.

The use of the charge of Labour anti-Semitism, and false stories to support it, across the UK media and political debate and inside the party itself, made public criticism of Israel virtually impossible. The pro-Israel onslaught silenced even those who knew the campaign for the lies and half-truths it was.

Put succinctly, a foreign government financed and promoted with treacherous help from its British agents and assistants a political, racist libel that made impossible proper debate about foreign affairs running up to two general elections.

This alien intervention helped to kill both social justice inside the UK and any semblance of international justice in Britain’s policies toward Israel and Palestine for many years ahead. The same tactics are now being redeployed against the Green Party, which under its Jewish leader, Zack Polanski, has inherited the Corbynist mantle.

This book is a handbook for those who wish to make sure such a betrayal of Britain and British democracy never happens again, and that the truth about Israel and Palestine can be told unhindered.

From Benjamin Franklin’s ‘Join, Or Die’ snake cartoon calling for unity among the squabbling colonies during the Revolutionary War, to the work of Thomas Nast, that led the way in exposing the corruption of the Gilded Age, to underground comics of the anti-Vietnam War protest movement as epitomized by R. Crumb, art has always been a tool of resistance to corrupt power. Pithy imagery can speak to the masses in ways scholarly editorials fall short.

Most Wednesdays I join a rush hour curbside protest in my small community. We gather for an hour with a variety of protest signs and banners on a range of issues from the US/Israel Gaza and Lebanon genocides to healthcare, peace, education and environmental action.

Early on I was very impressed by the unique poster art of local activist Martha Coventry. Every week she shows up with posters on a variety of issues that challenge the latest travesties of the fascist state like a fox following the scent of a deranged rabbit.

With paintbrush and markers, Martha’s bold imagery stands out among the curbside gallery of protest art.

“I started making protest signs last April for the No Kings Rally,” Martha notes. “I have some talent with a paintbrush, so have begun adding art to my signs. It’s my way of speaking up and using my talents for a better world.”

In the tradition of 1930s Dust Bowl photographer Dorthea Lange, whose imagery of the poverty and day-to-day suffering of the poor helped propel FDR’s New Deal revival of the nation and inspired the movie Grapes Of Wrath, Harriman gives view and voice to today’s global corporate exploitation and persecution of the poor.

Harriman makes the motivation for his powerful work clear:

“I have to make sure that my camera is a sword and shield for those that do not have a voice.”

As Martha’s growing body of street art shows, every day resistance can be raised not only with ones voice but also with a paintbrush in one hand and a chunk of cardboard in the other.

The new documentary Shoot the People profiles the Nigerian British photographer and activist Misan Harriman, the first Black photographer to shoot the cover of British Vogue and an outspoken advocate of Palestinian rights. We speak to Harriman in New York City ahead of the film’s U.S. premiere, about his work, the repression and criminalization of pro-Palestine protest in the United Kingdom — including the unprecedented sentencing of four activists with the group Palestine Action as terrorists — and more. “I genuinely believe that through art and culture, we can see that the sum of all of our parts is stronger than the powerful few,” says Harriman.
