The in-between spaces of our collective journey — and collective consciousness.

The in-between spaces between what was and what will be.

The in-between the chaos of endings and the cohesion of beginnings.

The VOID.

The magic point. The zero point. The place of quantum possibility.

The moments after the death of a former version of ourselves — a version which held too tight to stories and beliefs keeping us from our own evolution.

The feeling of nothingness, of space, of emptiness that’s so uncomfortable it can make our skin crawl.

There is currently a big, vast, collective chasm, a deep crater of the unknown, upon us.

I’ve leaned into this space for a long time. The cavern of the ambiguous, the untenable, still unattainable. It is in this space in which we are ultimately free, if we are able to allow ourselves the comfort beyond the trappings of our “self” and societally built castles of control.

Are the castles what we want?

Who built them? Do they make us truly feel safe?

Does what’s been built have staying power? Or, have they already crumbled?

As Jimi Hendrix said,

“And so castles made of sand,

fall in the sea, eventually.”

When we are in our final moments, our final relationship with the wild air entering and exiting our lungs, what are the things in which will illuminate the lighthouse of our lives and time here?

Will it be the hours we worked or the followers that we had?

Recently, I hosted a shadow work session on The Vision Train, a global creative community, inspired by Perennial Conscious Dying Sessions, which is shadow work designed for more liberated, thriving living.

After sending invitations to my friends to join us, one text me back and said,

“What is shadow work, anyway?”

I said, “It’s looking at the stuff we typically don’t wish to see - the stuff we try to run from, within ourselves. What hides in the psyche and subconscious.”

Her reply was,

“Love it, yeah, I got that shit COMPARTMENTALIZED IN THE BACK”

What is it that we, collectively, have compartmentalized — neatly, in the back?

Do we feel supported in the excavation?

Do we fear ourselves and what we might find?

I was gifted a supremely beautiful client recently.

A friend purchased a Spiritual Mentorship Session for another friend. A healer who didn’t quite yet understand his potential, his possibility, his prowess — and his power.

Men are being called to expand and evolve in new ways — to be with emotions as strength, as power, as a new expression of masculinity. Within that truth is something profound: it is not brave to supress your feelings, your emotions, your love — the true bravery lies in facing the inner caverns of oneself, the inner child, the inner heartbreak, the inner strength. It is in our true power in which we are able to meet the darkest and most neglected parts of ourselves.

Within our Viridescent Community, we have all kinds of men joining our programming, including our upcoming Rewilding Nature Retreat in the backcountry of Montana, October 1-5th.

I’m starting to realize that it’s possible that people need more structure to Spiritual Support work — a map of sorts, to give context to the ethereal, ephemeral, the unseen.

Let’s just sit for a moment with the irony of needing a map to the unseen —

However, in this moment, see it we must — and of course as a guide into the shadow parts, I have a ton of context, framing, experience and exercises designed for just such excavations. So many, in fact, that I keep creating new offerings to contain them, awaiting the seeking hearts and minds in which will flutter with recognition upon their unveiling.

Right now, I’m in the throes of the creation of

It’s going to be more than a mentorship, it’s going to be a flagship, an allyship, a reframing of relationship to belief, story, patterns, shadows, death and self-love — and most of all, a very clear map — mixing education, tools and introspection, all in support of self-actualization.

I’ve been witnessing the whispers of men in my life seeking realignment with their inner worlds. While I don’t think that this is in any way sanctioned to men, I hear, feel and see the palpability of the need, as a collective.

And, there is so much fruit to bear from such a reimagining of relationality in this context. A richness, a reclamation.

There are countless profound signs and affirmations for me, every day, of the energy and presence of LIFE; aka LIFE FORCE; barreling through, emerging, ever more — with an unabashed commitment to creation.

A dance of epic proportions so dire in disconnection that even the ultimate creator — Earth Mother — is expressing a dramatic gasp for air, for love, for our attention.

Her appearance now, along with her pleas to us all, over these recent decades, a stage-worthy expression of her own partial, linear death, begging us so very clearly to look at the relationship to our own.

What is it that we truly seek?

What is it that will be enough?

The hard truth of the matter is that nothing, ever, outside of us, nothing external, is ever enough to fill an inner void.

There is no one, no words, no money, no books, no drugs, no social scroll enough to fill an inner wound begging for witnessing; only our own medicine can.

The hard-earned, gently coddled salve of self-love is what fills, what soothes.

This is sourced through the hard-earned excavation of all that stands between us and our soul. Between us and the infinite love that we ARE.

The stories, patterns, beliefs + ideas that we, ourselves, independently and societally, have subscribed to. The ones that limit us.

All that we’ve absorbed about all that we are not.

May those versions of us all, die.

Within the lineage of Shamans all over the world, how you come to pass as a healer, seer and knower of that realm is through the intimate and ritual return to the realm of death. The liminal space between living and what lies beyond, the realm of the underworld, of dreams, of everything and nothing.

Death is a necessity for seeing beyond what is presented to us, neatly packaged for our consumption.

I talk to my clients about death to versions of ourselves, and most often, they too, experience one — or more, in our work together.

I have had two very real moments, one in Mt. Shasta and one in my friend Olivia’s tea room, where I have witnessed a version of me die. An actual shattering of my reality, with the gnosis that a version of me is complete. Two distinct times in the past four years — the old version of myself no longer able to fit into the reality that is unfolding; the bigness of the knowing in which I hold within.

And, I know there have been many other deaths for me, along the way, possibly less conscious, during my formative years. Some deaths, like those in college when I was experiencing psychological and sexual abuse, made way for more pain to take over. For more unseen energies, for more harm. In recent years, however, they have made space for more love, more possibility, more deepening to my understanding.

And like all death, it requires time to grieve, time to witness, time to mourn, when a version of us dies. It requires us to release the energy associated with our grief.

Yet, it is in those many deaths that we also make the space, carve out the liminality — for who we truly want to be, to come forth, to live.

And then, when that version of us has done enough, has taken us where we need to go, we will die again.

To die a thousand deaths enables us to continually keep making space for the new. In symbolic or ego death, we release old limits.

We continue to evolve to all that we wish to be, which ultimately, I believe, is unconditional, divine love, embodied in physical form.

What parts of your identity have been shaped by achievement?

Where in your life might you be striving for validation in an attempt to satiate something else, within?

For years now, I have been in a state of unraveling my relationship to productivity and stepping into a state of intentional sufficiency. My invitation to redefine success came by way of repeated failures, based on the metrics of the business as usual economy.

Often, we spend so much of our lives believing fulfillment lives somewhere outside ourselves, in a relationship, in a career, in a milestone — only to discover that our greatest transformation begins the moment we stop chasing external markers and instead, return to our internal truth, the whispers of higher wisdom, within.

Andy reminds us that awakening doesn’t have to be a stroke of luck or lightning strike (as many Shamanic practices have engaged in!). Awakening can emerge through unexpected moments, difficult transitions, profound healing — and intentionally choosing to experience different states of expanded consciousness.

The key to beginning is quite simply embracing the willingness to question the stories we’ve inherited about who we’re supposed to be.

Whispers of reconnection.

Wounds suddenly less painful — or even transformed.

The signs are everywhere. A woman who used to argue and be at odds with her mom constantly suddenly feeling the urge to place a loving, healing hand on her, instead. Swift realizations of shifting relationship to old traumas and past pain. A lightening of burdens; a widening, softening and strengthening of the sacred heart.

No one can stop a revolution that begins within. And, maybe more poignant, you can’t outrun it, either.

It is the seeing of our deep subconscious shadow — the parts we most wish to avoid: fear, judgment, doubt, regret, shame, feelings of victimhood; in which the most medicine awaits us. Some of these energies and feelings very well may fall away during this time of expansion; however, it is more likely that we need to put in the work to ensure that it is so.

Working with those parts of ourselves — including the other aspects society has deemed for so long, taboo: death, sex, pleasure, rest; is actually one of the best gifts we can give ourselves. Truly seeing ourselves in wholeness requires seeing and accepting all parts of ourselves, including the darkest crevices and corners of our psyche, the cobwebs of our inner world, the resistance within.

Seeing the shadow allows for action. It allows for bravery, movement, new patterns. It allows air, the pause, a space to breathe and the room for unconditional love to be cultivated, nourished, to arrive.

The energies of fear, shame, guilt and regret feel like very human aspects of life to me. They feel almost manufactured, products of this lived experience and the ways in which we have done things for too long. If we do not judge them as bad or wrong, they just can “be.” They can exist, like all things, with neutrality.

Unfortunately the way this human world has been designed for oh-so-long, these energies have kept us feeling isolated from one another. Fear, shame, guilt, regret often keep us insular; in silos of self-criticism, self-doubt and even self-destruction.

I am committed to releasing these patterns within me, these morphed versions of best intentions where reality did not align with my heart.

Fear (and scarcity) says that you can’t live a life aligned with what makes your soul sing, in right relationship with earth.

Guilt says that spending time in nature, with friends or being in love aren’t being productive and getting your job done.

Regret wants us to loop on something in the past that pained our heart or another’s such that it keeps hurting our heart again and again.

Doubt says that we can’t do it — when in reality, most all is possible, in belief.

But, what do we choose to say, for ourselves?

How do we choose to excavate our inner landscapes such that we mine the darkest parts to see them as the loving, nourishing minerals to our completion?

Our shadows are innocent distortions of our ego in a world in which has everything we could ever need to survive, but has simultaneously created an illusion of structural hierarchy to pretend that isn’t so — for the masses.

Our egos were designed for our survival. And, all of our survival needs can be easily met with a reframe of our systems and structures.

The Revolution is happening within each and every one of us. The cosmic energies are profound. There are not only planetary alignments we haven’t seen in all of human existence — but there are also massive explosions happening off of the surface of the sun which are sending blasts of high frequency plasma toward the earth. I can feel the solar flares by way of being more hungry, more thirsty and more tired. Have you felt any big physical symptoms the last few days?

As such, we are changing; we are remembering, we are evolving — directly within our bodies, from the heart.

It is true that each “Dark Night of the Soul” I’ve experienced (I’ve had at least 15 during the last 7 years of my life, including maybe 5 this year already) has led to times of great growth and shifts in my lived experience of life by way of consciousness. An anchoring to presence. An unspeakable awe and appreciation for life. What does it mean to have a shift in ones consciousness? For me, it has meant that my personal experiencing of the world has shifted nearly entirely.

I don’t encounter episodes where things happen “to me.” There are no longer experiences, people or places which make me feel less-than about myself. Things simply happen, things simply “are.” Sure, sometimes these things can be inconvenient or less than desirable - but truly, most of the time, the events that coalesce are beautiful, highly comical, awe-inspiring. I see and feel beauty in nature as palpable comrades, energies and support systems of love, of beauty, of intelligence. There is a divine pattern and rhythm to the energy of life, one in which is better experienced, listened to and honored, than explained. It lives in every leaf, every drop of water, ever clover in the field.

What does it mean to experience a “Dark Night of The Soul?”

Let’s acronym this baby for brevity. A DNOTS (sounds like a boy band from Mars) is an experience where there is an aspect of our understanding of ourselves or our reality, which is visibly and permanently shifted such that it is in direct discord with our closely held belief system about what is real. This can arrive through spontaneous awakenings experiencing of grief, shifting consciousness (i.e. thought pattern realizations, idealogical/philosophical realizations, complex emotions surfacing, childhood remembrance), and even through judgment which doesn’t align with “who you are” or want to be.

Two examples of events which spurred DNOTS for me:

1. My Kundalini Awakening: I had a 3 hr. call with a Medium in which she essentially read me everything that I held internal, in secret but knew, deep in my soul, to be true. In addition, she was joined by other spiritual beings who were profoundly important to me in ways in which she would have never known, breaking down my relationship a deep remembrance of the unseen world I had buried, in fear, since childhood. This experience shattered my carefully contrived relationship to reality in totality. This was the birthing of my steady statement: Once you see something, you cannot unsee it. I was unable to put the pieces together and frankly, did not want to; as this newly remembered, ancient world was far more vast, entertaining and enticing than the one in which I had been living in; searching for meaning.

2. Post-Advising of the Democratic National Convention: I had a career milestone for my beautifully intended consultancy, Purpose. I was tapped as sustainability co-advisor to the 2024 DNC; we pulled off one of the most inspirational and thoughtfully sustainable large-scale events in history. We rescued over 27,000 lbs. of food to feed over 23,000 Chicagoans and we measured the travel footprint of 20,000 volunteers and delegates with technology in which I had created; electing to fund an organice, regenerative urban farm, Growing Home, on the South Side of Chicago; reframing “Carbon Insetting” to include supporting hyper-local change-makers doing important impact work on the ground. Learn more about our work on the DNC here. The DNC in itself, was surely not the DNOTS. It was the aftermath. As the election neared, clients started canceling calls. Contracts dried up. Year-making potentials went to zero. My judgement of the business community and the integrity associated with capitalism hit an all time high; I was angry, depressed and absolutely floundering in fear and scarcity. It was quite possibly the hardest time of my entire life. I wondered if it would be easier if I wasn’t around — not seriously, but the thought arose. WOOF. What a time. Both of these scenarios, while absolutely painful in their experiences and changes, were essential to my consciousness shifting in critical ways for my path forward.

The most uncomfortable thing for many of us, in a culture of extreme control and false scarcity, is the unknown - the void, the liminal spaces where something has broken open or dissolved and there is a space, a hold, an unknown, in its place.

My awakening brought me back to the reality that our existence and experience is far more vast than what the eye can see or what we have been taught, societally, is acceptable or is present. Unity/oneness, universal intelligence, unseen forces, unconditional love — all exist, all around us and it was important for my life and my trajectory to remember, recall and relive into that state.

A recently launched website on awakenings actually found that 80% of spiritual awakenings include a feeling of Unity/Oneness.

The post-DNC experience helped me to both realize that the only thing or person I can change is myself — and also, that it can be somewhat egoic to believe that you have the answers that others might need or that might help the world in some way. I realized I had been what I called “urgency barfing” on all of my friends, my communities, projecting the extreme urgency I felt about the climate crisis and our current economic state of affairs, onto the world.

And worse yet, it wasn’t working.

I ended up writing my friends this email of apology:

Dear Friend,

It’s been awhile since I’ve sent out a personal email and I wanted to start with an *apology* and share some things I have been deeply learning.

It’s been a wild and challenging few years - and I have learned massive lessons in empathy, psychological complexity and the deep need to ask permission when discussing hard things; such as climate change and each person’s individual perspective and relationship to both the subject as a topic and the myriad emotions associated with it.

When I first started to dive into learning anything and everything I could about climate and the what/how we can collectively impact change, my response (as often typical) was to *regurgitate difficult facts and data, unsolicited, in an attempt to mirror the urgency in others in which I deeply felt within. *THIS IS NOT THE RIGHT STRATEGY.

So for this, I am sorry. It has become clear in the last year that what is really needed is deep empathy, curiosity and conversation - and through hours of in-depth education rooted in Indigenous worldviews and regeneration, my perspectives have shifted (and continue to shift).

All this to say, I am grateful for your patience, friendship and compassion. My strategy and heart are changing daily and I am in a constant state of intentional evolution.

What can you do in the event of a DNOTS?

Batten down the hatches, hold on tight and most of all, give yourself radical, extreme love. Remember that the fact that you’re here, on this planet, at this time, is infinite proof of your worth and your value. Even if you’re curled up in the fetal position in your closet, your soul has a unique resonance, and it is important. Your presence changes reality in important and meaningful ways (whatever TF reality is!).

There is something called “The Witch Wound” which is essentially said to be a fear of being seen or visible due to past-live memories of persecution/murder etc. It’s the long-term silencing and lack of safety for the divine feminine wisdom which is emerging so bravely and prevalently in our societies, neighborhoods and communities today. The reason I bring this up is that I believe that The Witch Wound exists, in fact, to bring us together. For us to remember that we are not alone — that in fear, we have others, we have peers, we have healers, seers, knowers, who can see us with love, empathy, support and wisdom. There is always someone who can see beyond the mountain in which you perceive to be blocking you or your vision. Always.

When I am in a DNOTS I personally journal a lot, intentionally carve out time to CRY so very hard, reach out to my closest relationships, friends, family. I look deeply into my own psyche and see what needs to be seen, released, forgiven. I also work with healers who can help me, whether that be via energy medicine, talk therapy or otherwise. None of this is meant to subjugate or substitute medical advice, it’s all meant to add multi-dimensionality to the conversation.

The Good News

A DNOTS is a glass ceiling. It is NOT permanent, while it can feel fucking PAINFUL. You are not alone, we are never alone. We are kin of the trees, the bees, the leaves. We are also kin of each other. When we lead with love, we heal the world in ways in which it deeply seeks. When we notice the awe in everything, the awe in our life is eternally expansive. When we notice the magic within ourselves, we are the owners of magic.

If you’re going through it, know that I am too. The world is. It’s a time of wild, fast-paced transformation — and, it is right on time. We need it. In order to make space for the newness that is meant to emerge, we must allow for what is meant to decompose, the space to die.

The more that we tackle existing stories of victimhood (this is said with extreme love, empathy and a deep understanding that we all are absolutely “victims” in one way of another, throughout our lives); the more we can experience these situations and stories as simply information which is helpful to our journey and less as something which limits us or isolates us in some way. Victimhood is a very complicated and very real experience — and simultaneously, it can keep us in cycles which don’t feel good in our bodies or in our hearts. Worse, it can keep us in isolation from others. Empathetic witnessing of ourselves within these emotions, stories and experiences can lead to liberation which in turn can rewrite our relationship with the outer world in meaningful ways. (Disclaimer that this topic is FAR bigger than a paragraph and endlessly complex and I empathize with all aspects of feelings and experiences of victimhood).

Gratefully, there are webs of communities, and even webs of webs of communities, finding each other, formulating, co-creating, to help people in the experiencing of DNOTS and all of the aforementioned, without judgment and with the anchor of witnessing and welcoming all peoples, all stories, all realities and all emotions.

Your desire to be felt, to be known. An innocent distortion of the love that you once were.

The sting of your entrance befuddled in the space between the first sight of you and how we choose to react to such information.

It is, of course, a gift to be able to regulate our nervous systems in such a way so as to bear you, to sit with you, given the many, many years of the bastardized frivolity of your function.

You exist to save us, to keep us alive and safe during times in which our bodies need that type of signal.

Yet, the conditions have largely changed. We are no longer in danger of being attacked, eaten or ambushed in our day-to-day lives.

But, the idea of such manipulation has lived on, until now.

Now we can see and be with you, witnessing you for your innocence, for your love.

We can empathize with your intentions and how they have been distorted over the years, mechanising control of innocence.

When we see you, we know that we are you, and you are us, and within that, we can reach into our well of unconditional love and pour the sweet honey of compassion into ourselves, filling our hearts and every gap where fear lingers with the sweet scent of forgiveness and understanding.

French Astrologer André Barbault’s record in prediction is impressive: From pointing to the crises of communist regimes in 1989-1990 to the rapid ascent of China and other Asian countries between 2010 and 2025 as well as the global pandemic in 2020 — he’s been stunningly accurate in his assessments of planetary influence on society. And, his prediction for July 2026 involves big shifts in perception for every single human being on the planet.

Western culture has become reliant on fragile systems; systems which arguably, have already puttered on well beyond a humble end of life.

These systems are obviously and logically beyond simple pressure or repair — and even beyond meaning, in many cases.

Is it a combustion, a decay, a burial or a freedom in which we sense emerging, in the powerful energy swirling and arising, all around us — and within us?

We can no longer papier-mâché over the cracks or look away, patching things in which are, and have been — obviously and permanently, broken.

Thankfully, outside of our earthly challenges, the real, big universe is alive and well, flowing all around us; despite our best efforts to build our own, smaller, more controllable and comfortable universes, belief systems, careers, tasks, meaning. Whatever we hold tight which cannot supersede death of the physical is, this month and always, at the mercy of the beautiful tidal wave of existence; despite our best attempts at coagulation of the prefabrication of our shared (and largely, adopted at birth) version of reality.

And yet, when our hearts crack open, it lets the light in.

Maybe it will be a rebirth of our insides — a reverse birth canal — everything that is no longer necessary receives an invitation to burn or take flight. And right now, there is a crack in lotsa things.

Will they burn?

Will we allow the light to dance within us, tango with our structures, salsa with our ideas and philosophies, to liberate our inner worlds from all that we believe isn’t possible?

When I was on the tail end of my marriage in 2022, I went out for a run and was surprised to realize that my own inner child had come along for the run with me, riding a full-blown Phoenix, ablaze in all its glory, just a few meters above my head and to the right. We ran for three miles as I sang, laughed and danced, even through the rain.

We are all familiar with the Phoenix Archetype.

Will we believe it as it rises?

This month, French Astrologer André Barbault recognized that there would be nine whole “ascending planetary cycles” as he refers to them — which will occur CONCURRENTLY. This is historic, rare, in the rarest form. He believed this energetic makeup would usher in a reorganization of the world and a new collective orientation. This configuration has been described as signaling a positive shift in global consciousness and the possibility of resource redistribution following the contraction of the early 2020s.

Others have referred to this time as the dawning of the “Golden Era” for humanity, with societies becoming more conscious of equity; and things like poverty being contained/designed out of existence.

He had a very high vibe view of this forthcoming moment in time:

“The peculiarity of the turning point of 2026-2030 is represented by the centrality of the Saturn-Neptune conjunction at the beginning of Aries. The nucleus of convergence of the verb “Neptunian,” vital priority, reinforced by the concurrence of deep Saturnian foundations. We are faced with the possibility of a change so profound as to make the terms “change” or “upheaval” seem too weak to define the breadth of what could transform in the known world.”

Is this news we could USE, or what??

Here’s the high level astro breakdown of this forthcoming moment, as I understand it:

Around July 20th, 2026, Pluto in Aquarius (the planet of death and transformation in the sign of the collective good, i.e. what is not in service to the collective is seen/dismantled) trines Uranus in Gemini (the planet of disruption in the house of communication and seeing both sides of the story) sextiles Neptune in Aries (the planet of the unseen, spirit realm, in the sign that goes first and goes fast), all at four degrees AND embraced by Jupiter at 4 degrees Leo (the planet of abundance/expansion and luck in the house of being seen/leadership/the sun). Altogether, this will form a monumental “half grand sextile,” which in Astro speak, is HISTORICAL, to say the least.

It is said that this above scenario will affect everyone on the planet, because it affects all twelve houses of the zodiac between about 2-8 degrees, per my fave astrologer, my girl Molly McCord.

Are the shifts we’ve been waiting for, near their arrival?

Are we almost through the birth canal to a dawning of a new way, a new day?

Will universal feelings of liberation bleed into us, maybe even from within?

What new shifts have come through in your seeing/feeling/knowing?

One of my favorite things about foraying into past life wisdom is the remembrance that life is far more expansive than what we’ve allowed ourselves to imagine.

And, the unseen, unknowable — is actually quite commonly seen, known and understood, through cultures, through trance, through devotion, through spirit — within Shamanic practices, through space and time.

It is only a short-term veil of industrialized, cultured forgetfulness than has removed the anchor of belief from this mind-opening, somatically palpable space.

Whether we approach the unseen, quantum possibilities through spirituality, psychology, science, or personal experience, there seems to be a common invitation beneath: to know ourselves, and therefore, all else, more deeply.

Isabel and Darren remind us about the joyful awe found in existence when we slow down, listen carefully, and reconnect with the wisdom which is steadily present.

Below is a writing, meditation, reflection and journal prompts inspired by Mr. O’Donohue’s musings on the ethereal and infinite topic of Beauty - infiltrated with sparks of my own reverence for the wild, infinite magic which exists within the beautiful terrain of our soul’s home: our very own, always resplendent, internal world - and particularly, the human heart.

Mr. O’Donohue’s book, aptly titled Beauty begins with a statement about the invocation of a whole and holy order of things - an inference that the beautiful holds an eternally sacred space: the threshold between the real and ideal - in continual connection and conversation with each other.

The beautiful is not flawless, and in fact, it is palpable within the the guttural heartbreak of love lost, in the dissolution of paradigms, in the decay of life - all processes which engender truly living - allowing our eyes to open to the magnitude of what the ever-moving energies of LIFE truly hold within their grasp.

This same invocation rings true for our own inner landscapes and the continual processes of death and creation - the necessary devolution from learned constructs and limitations of a paradigm which arguably has aimed to keep us from the most sacred, significant and secretive parts of ourselves - to glaze over the messiness, the wholeness, the intimacy and circumvent our instinctually natural desire for slowness - in favor of “purposeful” productivity; an illusion of a version of modernity drowning itself in its own pool of insatiable logic.

What if our rampant exhaustion isn’t from doing too much? What if it’s coming from pursuing things that don’t matter deeply enough, or, simply, aren’t beautiful enough to the inner-workings of our being?

Today, let us be in devotion to the beautiful and with that inference, may we be in radical reverence to all parts of our messiest, gooiest, most verdant selves.

A Meditation for Your Inner Beauty

(Consider recording the below, in your own voice, and use it as a meditation for loving all the beautiful parts of yourself. Written by me, inspired by the Beauty in the heart of O’Donohue).

Imagine roots growing from your spine and your two feet, twisting themselves into a braid of sweetgrass and embarking down into the topsoil, through the bedrock, past the Paleozoic and mesozoic layers and into the core magma center of the earth. An earth angel ties your roots around the core magma center. The fire of the earth rises up and meets the fire of your own magnitude. The Fire and Water within you, the masculine and feminine parts, find a sacred balance within and throughout.

The earth sends a brightly colorful energy up through your roots, igniting your root chakra with the bright color red and moving up to your sacral chakra, igniting it with the color orange - moving to your solar plexus and lighting your own grand central sun with life, up to your heart where there is an omnipresent and never ending green flame, to your throat with the ignition of a blue flame - up to the spot between your eyebrows where there is an indigo light that ignites and finally, above your head where a purple flame, the flame of St. Germaine, sparks to life.

These energies extend above you, through your body - and up into the cosmos, connecting to your star family and the origin of your soul’s infinite essence - the birthplace of your eternal flame. The spark of your ever extending light, the ignition of your life force.

In this moment, withdraw back into yourself - into your chosen sacred vessel of this life, into the place where every one of your energy centers is alive with infinite light - and witness the infinite beauty that is you.

See the sacred you, in the tiniest version of your lived experience, entering the world with a divine wisdom that is wholly and completely your own, through the water. Feel unconditional love from your heart.

See yourself as the three year old version of you, innocent in every sense of the word, learning, living and wandering through time and space with awe and inspiration in every step. Feel unconditional love from your heart.

See the pre-life version of you that chose your life, chose your body, chose your path. See the version of you who was thrilled to be here at this very time, to embark on this journey. Feel unconditional love from your heart.

See the 10-year old version of you, the one who started to believe that they understood this world, including the perceived limitations which were most prevalent in our caretakers. Feel unconditional love from your heart.

See the teenage version of yourself, the one in which there began to be various frustrations and a perception of a heaviness in the world - and love that version of you without limitation.

See all these versions of you - in their absolute innocence, for their love, for their omnipresent desire for love - and never-ending ability to hold hope. Feel unconditional love from your heart.

Now, go to your own heart, in this very moment. Imagine that your heart is a rose - the highest frequency flower there is, vibrating at 307 Hz, while the human body vibrates around up to a max of 10 hz. See the rose blossoming, feel each single petal expand with the feeling of love in which emits from your heart. Imagine the human being you love the most - feel that love bloom - and blossom.

Now, breathe into that love - can you direct that love to yourself? Can you feel the waves of your being splash with your very own aliveness? Can you embrace the beauty of your journey, in all of its iterations as beautiful breadcrumbs on a path in which led you to the magnificence of who you are, in this very moment, today?

And if you struggle at times to find yourself beautiful, act as the creator of a statue - cut away here, smooth there, make a line lighter - another purer - until you remember the beauty in which is infinitely within you. Cut away all that is excessive, straighten that which you see as a bit crooked, bring a light to that which is overcast, labour to make all one glow of beauty and never cease in the chiseling -

The water softens the edges of severity, the harshness of a cliff, the sharpness of river rocks, over time.

And all along the way, be sure to stop and marvel at your magnificent work.

For the work is the marvel - the dissolving is the lesson. The process is the medicine. The imperfection the purpose.

You are the art.

And the love that you hold for yourself is a mechanism for change in the world, your presence ripples within and throughout in ways which are beyond our lived experience. Your presence matters today and every day - and as we work to meet ourselves in love, the world will continue to meet us in loving ways.

Give yourself gratitude for the journey - and watch as the earth angel gently unwinds your roots as you gently draw them back into the love that you are.

Take a moment to center yourself in presence, come back into yourself with gentleness - and when you feel ready, open your eyes.

Rose Ritual

1. Get a rose (or a few)

2. Light a candle, set an intention to love yourself, unconditionally.

3. Pour a glass of water, speak loving kindness into your water, drink it with admiration and love for yourself - and all versions of you.

4. Breathe deeply into your diaphragm, put your right hand on your heart and your left on your stomach, honor your breath and honor your presence.

5. For each petal of the rose you pull off, name one thing that you are grateful for about yourself.

6. Another option: You can also mix in what you will forgive yourself for, if desired.

7. Set your rose petals in a sunny window, within a sacred vessel.

8. Allow petals to dry.

9. Put them under your bed, bury them near your favorite tree, or put them in a place which will remind you of your magnificence. And, consider using some of them in ritual to honor the earth; making an earth offering which feels appropriate to you.

10. Repeat as desired and necessary, with reverence for yourself, your sacred waters, your heart, earth and the beautiful rose.

To love and be loved, seen, + deeply supported is what we deeply seek — and yet the irony is that those foundations must begin, within — to truly be able to be received, to be held, to be anchored, throughout.

Are we the eternal internal mirror to our external experiencing?

I believe we all forever hold the piece of the puzzle we feel is missing. The piece which reminds us that not only are we whole — but our wholeness is interconnected and interdependent with all else that is, the same as the stars, whales, waters.

We are the sacred gift of LIFE, we are the sacred spaces.

As I look out into the forest, the energy of the crow/raven comes into my awareness, even without its physical presence.

The crow/raven is said to be the gatekeeper between worlds. It’s also said (scientifically, even!) that the crow never forgets a face. It makes sense that these sacred beings would be the holders of the keys between places — the place between all we’ve been told to believe and the place of infinite recollection, where our beliefs — and particularly those that limit us — are simply a creation of our minds, decidedly temporary to this version of ourselves.

We can lose track of that internal compass in the rigamarole + repetition of the everyday rhythms of our own realms. Yet, it is in the individual experience of our reality which holds both the lock and the key to our capability, whether vast or limited.

Yet, the forest and the crow don’t forget. They aren’t limited to our human realities, our careers, our finances, worries, to-do lists. They are the seers beyond lifetimes. The forest, with her roots, interlinked in symbiotic harmony with all that lies below: the mycelium, the microorganisms, the minerals, the sacred waters, the soil, communing, collaborating, orchestrating.

Below what our eyes can see lies a community of socially aware, conscious and interconnected beings — showcasing to us exactly how to live in reciprocity, how to honor earth’s rhythms, how to honor each other. They are our teachers, if only we remember that we too, are them.

They are the source of our food, our shade, our sustenance, our protection. They are interconnected to our existence, beyond the popular veil of our collective perception.

And, the crow, the bridger between worlds: life and death, light and dark, the sun and the moon - the seer of our egos and struggles of self-importance; no more than grains of sand within a brush stroke on the masterpiece of ever-weaving eternity.

Is our language a component of our forgetting? Has convenience and modernity attempted to overthrow the thrown of existence? Could such a feat be possible for a being as immaculately intricate in her weavings as Mother Earth?

What is all of our effort in service to?

When does something become apparent in its service and to whom it serves?

The crow holds wisdom, unseen, between this world and the others, harboring the tales of LIFE and the truth in thriving— and dying. Do we remember how to recall those immaculate moments? The unseen parts between death and life, where we lose our fears and remember the majesty of creation?

If we are our own distraction, who is powerful enough to hold the hook, to stop the performance, to break the spell?

As I sit, the forest knows — and so too, does the crow.

Our bodies also know. They remember what is real every time we vibrate with the innocence of pure pleasure, devoid of the falsehoods of shame, judgement or lack of worth.

Does the liberation of our bodies liberate our spirit?

Does our spirit seek something different than what we’re experiencing?

Does fear of dying prohibit us from truly living?

Do we feel the rumbling of our internal waters, the tremors of the soil, the explosions of the sun?

Is the whole universe self-organizing in favor of LIFE?

Is LIFE, like the water, eternally malleable, infinite genius, awaiting our recognition of reciprocity?

Can we receive all the gifts that we are, within?

What does LIFE need from us?

What do we seek from LIFE?

To the depth of our words and majesty of our world,

The pain is temporary — as the awareness of it, and the commitment to it, is the medicine. The commitment to Love Anyway, regardless of what exists on the other side, the receiving end, of that love.

I titled the below “Architecture of Awareness.”

Do we have awareness of the agency of our hearts? Of the magnitude of our ability to feel?

Of the visceral blood, the sacred waters and cells which pump life into our veins?

What does it mean to fully trust the immersion of oneself within the heart of another?

If we perceive a need to protect, will we ever truly be actualized?

Can love be truly reciprocal?

My greatest achievement in every life is that of love; which I think means getting to a state of unconditional love within myself such that I can love another fully, from my own version of wholeness. The accomplishment which washes away every other experience of existence is an undying devotion to love. The gates of unmitigated pleasure, giving, receiving, dying, living all felt more fantastically within the throes of such wild and epic freedom.

Have we been made to withhold such love? To protect ourselves from such risk and by way of that protection, forego the simultaneously endless reward?

How can we meet in those spaces when we have different spectrums of allowance to such simplicity? Different realities of experiencing oneself? Different devotion to committing a version of ourselves to death? To composting our ideas of inadequacy into the soil - or incinerating our perception of inability to ash?

Accomplishment for me, is to be seen, sought and supported in soul devotion, without forsaking oneself, without limits, with all trust and all risk. The placing of one’s heart in the left hand of another while they hold a knife in the right. The potential of sheer and utter destruction, guttural heartbreak and blood-spilling pain — and doing it anyway.

Loving anyway. Loving fully, without expectation, without limitation.

Unlike the scene in Temple of Doom, it doesn’t have to mean letting someone rip your bloody beating heart out from your body, sacrificing you alive into the fire. It doesn’t mean there is not a fierce sovereignty of oneself. In fact, the fierce sovereignty is in the choice to love anyway. To bear your heart with honest, open abandon, to open oneself to the most gutting potential of emptiness, allowing in the void, the uncontrollable, the mirror of greatness, potential and utter pain. And claiming the sovereignty of committing to that level of love is brave, not naive. It’s warrior status, bucking the status quo of being the one to cut first, to save oneself, to preserve the inner landscape. It’s allowing the wild nature of all that lives within to be shared, to breathe, to be witnessed, in all the agony and all the glory.

And, like water, love can take on new forms where necessary; those of deep compassion, of gratitude, of peace — of surrender.

Surrender to what is there, what isn’t there, what could be, what will never be.

May we surrender to shattering, to sailing, to living fully, with love (if we want to),

What began as an intentional inner work journey into the wilderness became something far more profound. Across days spent hiking through the Bitterroot, gathering around the fire, cold plunging in the creek, and living closely with the land, we group found ourselves reconnecting not only with nature, but with parts of us that people and chapters of our lives had asked us to silence.

Together, this episode reflects on shared vulnerability, how men can embrace the divine feminine, the complexity of today’s masculinity and the importance of rest, ritual, and the unexpected healing that can emerge when people slow down enough to truly be with one another, without distraction.

Our conversation explores what it meant to rewild ourselves in a world that has recently been shaped by extraction, performance, and disconnection. Today, we’ll be diving into the meaning of #3, Realizing Sufficiency.

But before we dive into that, a few updates on what’s coalescing from the intentions I set within the Sacred Space of our VIRIDESCENT Vision Board Creation event.

When I am creating my annual Vision Board, every single Winter Solstice, I typically do not have much of an understanding of what might coalesce — but I do have a high level understanding of the intentions for what I am putting on the board, at a loose level, without strict expectations.

I’m going to walk you through a few ways that my board has already come alive, before diving into the energies of sufficiency which will be coalescing this month.

Nearly without fail, meaning gets made around even the most ambiguous of visuals - which was proven early in the year this year with a photo of gorgeous bitter melon or bitter gourd - encapsulated by a bejeweled snake, taken out of a luxury fashion mag (top, slight right, under the “Look at Us”).

How could something as strange as this, show up IRL?

In January, I brought home a 6-pack of organic bananas and low and behold, as we started to eat them, in the middle of the bananas, were the remnants of a real life snake skin. You cannot make this up.

Then, see the little orange tree in the bottom left?

When I went to Spain in late January/early February, there were orange trees full of abundant fruit throughout the entire Andalusian countryside, on every street, including in each city we went to. They are bitter and not edible and therefore, the beautiful fruit remains on the tree, until a time of its own choosing.

Further, the “Buena Suerte,” i.e. Good Luck in Español, the red-tailed hawk and the shot of an Arched Interior of Spanish Antiquity (middle, left) referred to my partner’s wishes to find a second home in Spain, all of which has gratefully and beautifully coalesced for him, as seen below.

How about the spider web, bottom right?

One morning, I felt very called to my favorite hike, with gorgeous scenic views of high above the bluffs of Lake Michigan, despite the fact that there was so much fog you couldn’t see clearly, five feet in front of you. Still, I followed the call and went. What I realized on that hike was that during a dense fog, while you can see nothing else, you can see every single spider web that exists in its fullest expression with the density of the wet air creating beautiful clarity on each intricate strand of the spider’s web. Spider webs are also significant as spirit communication via my late grandma Ruth, pictured below.

“First of Its Kind,” (upper left) was referring to the waterfall, which is the black and white photo, also underneath the eye. This was about seeing, feeling and honoring, with devotion, the wisdom of the sacred waters of mother earth, as well as those within our bodies. Enter water healing. It was not on my radar when I created this board, yet. I conducted my first virtual water healing with the loving trust of my VIRIDESCENT kindred, Chance Thompson, as an offering for his healing — one in which he ended up sending me money for, as a token of gratitude for the experience.

At Home In The Trees? Each one of the windows of my loving home face a full forest full of trees, leaves and the beautiful buzz of life.

Within all of these coincidences, I find extreme meaning and deep gratitude. The magic of manifestation by way of conscious, yet passive, intention is an art which helps to teach us, over time, about the art of conscious creation — along with building the trust muscles of connection to the mystical, unseen energies of creation.

And, none of this, with the exception of an amazing trip to Spain, cost me a singular dollar to ideate, imagine and experience. Recognizing what matters the most to us — embodying it — and feeling the utmost in gratitude for its existence. Sufficiency.

And the final, potentially most poignant synchronicity: I arrived a day late to an International Justice & Peace Planning Meeting just outside of Washington, D.C., the original home of the Piscataway Indian Nation, in late April — and walked into the very first moments of a discussion about what archetype of leader you are; with the first being “The Change Agent” (middle right). This was within the very first few minutes of a weekend full of beautiful connections, deeply healing sacred ceremony, funny synchronicities, and really, really powerful, healing, important conversations.

Entering the Era of Sufficiency

The complex truth about Astrology is that everything, everywhere, is truly happening all at once. And yet, there are different aspects of every planet and point which cause an energetic ripple for us here, on earth — and differently for each of us, based on the exact blueprint of our very own birth chart.

Yet, simultaneously, we are all experiencing the same energies at the same times, with what is said to be the most simultaneous big Astrological change in history. All outer planets have been changing signs, and many of these changes are the beginnings (or endings) of multi-year transits, if not decades-long ones. The starting and ending of massive energies which affect us all.

Why does this matter regarding sufficiency?

Chiron, also known as the “Wounded Healer” is a unique celestial object, classified as a centaur, exhibiting both asteroid-like and comet-like characteristics, was discovered in 1977. Chiron is finishing a stint of nearly 8 years in Aries (there since 2018) to the sign of Taurus, which is about what we have, what we value and what we own. This means we will be looking at our relationship to all that we possess and own — as well as what we have “ownership” over — along with what that ownership truly signifies, what is means, particularly if it was purchased or consumed as an attempt to satiate a wound of some kind, within us.

How might this show up?

• Evaluating our relationship to consumerism relative to why we are consuming.

• Assessing our physical possessions and what they mean to us, or what the root of their origin comes from.

• Restructuring our relationship to what is valuable to us.

• Rewriting our values based on what is most important to us, today.

We will only get a taste of this energy in 2026, as Chiron enters Taurus from only June through September before retrograding back into the final moments (which are really months) in Aries, where we will be completing a lot of themes of healing relationship to self, including things like shadow work, grief, self-inquiry, self-actualization, etc, all aspects of Chiron in Aries.

Chiron will enter into Taurus for its 8-year cycle in April of 2027.

Yet, the era of Sufficiency begins now.

We will be looking at why we have what we have and what equates to true value in our lives. We will be seeing the mechanics of advertising and marketing relative to consumerism and materialism with much more clarity and transparency — and anywhere in which we were purchasing/consuming to fill or attempt to satiate a wounded part of ourselves will be shown to us.

Sufficiency is the art of realizing what truly matters - and this period of revelation is cosmically, as usual, right on time.

What truly matters is independent and unique to each and every one of us — however, it is my hope that the beauty and generosity of our sacred shared home will come into the spotlight in entire new ways as she showcases her continued love for humanity and all of creation through the myriad magic in which earth mother provides.

Shadow work is when you are working with your darkest and most putrid beliefs. The stuff that NOBODY wants to look at or believe of themselves, yet somehow, that little invasive story/pattern/belief has solidly wedged itself in ones’ psyche.

They are also a perfect example of what I have referred to, as early as the INTRO Episode of The Blueprint Within, as the “Circle of Human Experience.”

If existence and subsequently life, is part of a grander dance of experience — of creation experiencing itself — it’s a never-ending journey.

Call it a circle - call it an infinity symbol; whatever you call it, it is, in that case, without finality. So, why wouldn’t we make it interesting? If all is joyful or happy, how would we ever know the beauty in those experiences?

As such, when you’re on the top of the circle, things are flowing, you’re feeling immense gratitude, love, hope, possibility —

And then, at times, you’re on the sides, more neutral, observant, a witness to the spectrum of experience, maybe even a witness to yourself witnessing your experience.

Yet without fail, at some points, you’re on the bottom, in the dark, the void, the shadow, the depths — the bowels, face to face and hand in hand with all that the light of day prays and wishes isn’t real. The parts which have been exiled due to their ghastly nature.

In my perspective, when you do the inner work, the shadow work, the healing work - while it doesn’t ingratiate us to a fanciful and magical world beyond pain, it can make the lower part of the circle less intense, less long, less painful.

Yet, you betcha, that bottom of the circle will come again. I find it usually comes before you break through to another place — a new level, deeper understanding, new consciousness, new experience. It’s like the glass ceiling before you reach a new level. And, no matter how much we’ve healed, learned, felt, experienced, no one is exempt (unless, maybe, you reach enlightenment?). The grief is real and it’s also a part of the lesson, a part of the mission - a part of the medicine. Enlightenment feels like a place in which you’re so amazing at observing the experience that the pain is as neutral as the pleasure, and that’s a whole new ball of wax.

This morning, after being shown continual glimpses of past moments and memories in which I didn’t feel good enough - in my old college apartment above blockbuster with an unrequited love, during a particular St. Patty’s Day, other times I was rejected for my intense and often extreme “me-ness.” Following these windows of insight, I wrote down my darkest, most putrid beliefs.

They have been sitting right next to me as I type this. This is better than them continuing the swirl in my subconscious. And instead, I have decided to get really acquainted with them. To read them, to see them, to love them.

Actually, I spent quality time with them. Took them for a walk, read them to a friend. Talked about them in community. After others were talking about their achievements, I talked about them in community in . I committed to feeling them, swimming in the pain in which they’ve created, relishing in the nausea they cause in my stomach.

Then, I am going to use them - for creativity, for release, for love.

And then, I will bury them, in the earth, to compost them anew.

They are as follows:

I’m failing at being the best mom to my child.

I’m not good enough as a mom.

I’m not liked by others.

I’m not sought out as a friend.

I’m not lovable.

I’m not enough.

People don’t want to be in community with me.

I am selfish.

I scare people.

WOOF. And to kick it off: Parenting. Probably my worst shadow, and from what I hear, a shadow of many other people. Trying to unwind, unravel and rewrite my relationship to myself and my own inner child whilst also rewiring my nervous systems and patterns such that my child has a drastically different experience than I did around the allowance of feeling feelings and my relationship to my mystical existence. And the worst part is that the ways in which my parenting is lackluster is mostly due to the omnipresent hypervigilence I have had to maintain in financially sustaining myself. A feeling I would wish on NO ONE.

Do we all question our ability to get that right?

What a fucking list. Am I these things? Maybe a little, maybe sometimes.

Are they painful? FUCK YES they are painful.

Are they true?

All in all, I’m gonna say NO.

And yet, there are little parts of me, and all of us, that have been stewarded within culture, within society, to not only quiet these shadows - but to hide them, to pretend they aren’t real, to shove them under the rug, to never let them be seen.

So, I am hanging out with mine. I brought them to my writing workshop, I took them on a walk, I’m bringing them to my childhood home and I’m sharing it with you - and 1,000 other people via this writing.

The human spectrum of experience is beautiful and messy.

Yesterday, during our VIRIDESCENT Weekly Inner Work Session, Fun & Flow - I wrote this as an ode to committing to changing something just 5%:

I am ready to release old stories, patterns and beliefs about worth, scarcity and my skeletons. I am ready to fact my deepest, darkest shadows, to see them, to feel them, to love them. They are a part of me but they do not define me. They are the waters which absorbed my most shameful, torrid, abhorrent fears, the ghastly, misshapen stories of a broken girl, a person who needed permanent fixing. I was never that unlikeable lemon.

I was born whole.

I am sought, I am sacred, I am enough.

I overflow with worth and an abundance of value. My existence proves my worth and my humanity paints it with every color in the wheel of human experience. The pain is the pleasure is the point. It all is enough to choke on and simultaneously, gratefully, sail through. It is chosen for learning, for love, for expansion.

It is a path of pure potential for all is purposeful, through the lens of love.

Many of my community have also been going through a vast shedding of their own pain, doubt, scarcity, lack and productivity. It’s been jarring, challenging and beautiful. We are all moving through this to know it, to love it and to hold it, both within ourselves and for others, too.

Because I have self-doubt, pain and shadow doesn’t limit my ability to hold space, to heal, to grow, to succeed, it actually supports it.

Being with this pain allows me the space to witness it, to let it breath, to steward it into newness. For it is when our shadows remain in the shadow in which they hold the most control over us.

My algorithm is not your algorithm but both of them serve the same gods: Convenience, Consumption and Capitalism.

The convenience of not having to look too far to fill our needs.

Of clicking and receiving without the strain of thinking.

Consumption of content, of people, clothes, ideas, crocs, trad wives, doom and whatever else the internet dutifully feeds into our tailored and exacting algorithm.

Are these products of us, or is it us as the product?

Do we not see the boat if we are in it, in enough to rock it, to raise up the white flag? While we believe ourselves creators, unique contributors, are we the feeding pens for the most nimble, subverse and integrated forms of extraction; algorithms and AI?

And, if I’m honest, it’s not AI’s game, I perceive it’s a game of control being orchestrated behind closed doors, maybe even in bunkers, by a small crew of humans who deeply fear their own projections of humanity itself.

A question I keep asking: Can we see beyond a system when we are within it?

Just what IS the magnitude of the internet’s strong-hold and what if it no longer held us?

Have we noticed that when we search for something on a search engine, we no longer see suggested (or even paid) links or companies or articles to select from — but instead simply a confidently concise answer via AI (which we didn’t consent to)?

Statistically, we are not questioning those answers. Often times, I hear, that these answers are also incorrect.

How do we use discernment to trust what we are being served?

How do we find small businesses and interesting people and water healers if AI simply satiates our curiosity without question?

Meanwhile, we toil away, splattering our hearts, our ideas, our brilliant takes on these keyboards and screens thinking that maybe one day the algorithm might hit in our favor.

Maybe something will strike a chord, maybe I’ll inspire enough to make a living wage, maybe creating, caring and pouring it all out there will result in sufficiency.

Maybe the internet will work in our favor?

The internet, as it stands, is an illusory experience of authenticity, when it comes to our sovereignty. It appears we are running the experience, but is the experience running us? Are we pouring our hearts — and our art — into a vacuum of cunningly contrived and calculated extraction?

And this is just the extraction of our words, our hearts, our care, our creativity - not considering our basic needs.

This next article is about data centers, the motherboards of AI, by Tatjana Washington, a PhD candidate in the Evolutionary Biology department at the University of Chicago. The BIG extraction which is awakening us, in a bipartisan manner, to the magnitude of our sacred waters’ importance - and the essential nature of protecting our sense of place, our land, our air.

While data centers are currently bringing massive bipartisan opposition and unification of the people, there are now millions (if not billions) of dollars being invested in campaigns and politicians with the intention to block local level legislation from interfering with data center creation + production. Still, local people are rising up in opposition to these inequities to give voice to the voiceless: their local water, air and ecosystems, while the threat of environmental degradation continues.

Data centers exist to fuel the expansion of AI, which is entirely built on the culmination of acquired human wisdom, including the post I am typing now.

Simultaneously, AI is predicted to take a large chunk of our economy’s jobs by only 2030. Sam Altman, CEO of ChatGPT, suggested a universal living wage and a number of other pretty pro-social ideas, as a safety net for the trauma in which mass lay-offs might cause.

Ironically, with the prediction of AI taking a majority of human beings’ jobs, that leaves those same companies without a huge swath of paying consumers, rendering the action of replacement meaningless, if there is no consumer to fill the demand pool and buy their wares.

In such a case, could it be that AI is actually how capitalism eats itself?

So — what can we do?

We can take back our sovereignty — our time, attention, existence, presence, love, hearts, bank accounts — and maybe most importantly, our imaginations.

Are we the consumers or are we the ones being consumed?

In Alcoholics Anonymous’ lauded 12-step program, which calibrates extremely high on David Hawkins’ scale of consciousness, the very first step is about Awareness. Awareness that something has become unmanageable:

1. We admitted we were powerless over the substance or behavior – that our lives had become unmanageable.

2. Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.

4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.

5. Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.

6. We were entirely ready to have God remove all those defects of character.

7. Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.

8. Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.

9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.

10. Continued to take personal inventory, and when we were wrong, promptly admitted it.

11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.

12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these Steps, we tried to carry this message to others and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

Another reason AA is so very successful is that it cultivates a sense of deeper meaning — of something greater, of responsibility, of accountability.

Maybe we don’t think we are addicted - or maybe we don’t see the addiction as unmanageable. Maybe we can’t feel the addiction.

I type this as my kid is consuming Youtube on the couch, the first thing he wants to do when he gets home. He gets a parent-sanctioned, limited amount of time, but the dopamine hit is very real.

There is no flaw in the design, similar to the intention of the origins of the labor pool — keep wages low enough that labor was forced in order for survival — keep the hit subliminal enough not to notice the behavior change, the repetition, the algorithm.

Yet, all is not destined to the confinements of our existence within our own prescribed algorithm.

There are imaginative, soulful experiences, communities and alternative internet spaces popping up which intend for reclamation of our sovereignty, our time, our hearts. The Viridescent Community, Wisdom Workshop, Vision Train, Emunah, Design School for Regenerating Earth, RegenIntel, Re:Biz, Evolve and The Blueprint Within are all places which are intending collective care and community. Come one, come all.

Futher, third spaces like Metalabel and DFOS intend for individuals and communities to own their internet-spawned creativity with full sovereignty. Are you seeing internet alternatives popping up in your Awareness or spheres of influence?

Three prevalent fears of human beings are:

1. death 2. guilt 3. meaninglessness.

Why have we been taught to have such a dominating fear of death?

What parts of our society are designed to make us feel guilt? (Recall my recent post on Grief, Rest & Pleasure?)

What parts of our lives give us true meaning?

Are we aware of our existence within a system?

And, by proxy, are we the system? Yes, of course, me too, by way of this very post, by my existence in this moment, by succumbing to the cuts of fear + scarcity.

Are we asking questions of ourselves — and genuinely listening for the answers?

As Arkan Lushwala says, “Thinking is Listening.”

On this Mother’s Day Weekend, may we ask of Mother Earth what she needs — and give the time and space to truly hear her.

sediment unleashes

waves tumble

broken

promises of life bequeath

the outstretched arms of a mother

too short the span of duty

infinite the nature in spinning

return

Even in perceived separation, is there unification?

This phrase came to me while working out, the morning of our writing.

When we come into this world, is learning the mission? A returning to the remembrance of our magnitude, of our interconnection?

Or, is it returning to radical love? To transcendence?

In the eternal in-between, I feel and understand that the infinite love we have for ourselves, for each other, for earth, never ends.

All is abundant, all is enlightened - and simultaneously, maybe that blissful state of unlimited love and infinite expansion is not the best breeding ground for learning pain and heartbreak. In earth school, do we have the great luxury of polarization such that we can see and experience an alternative to such endless, ethereal and indelible beauty?

Yet, there is also beauty in pain, in the journey home to ourselves, beyond these perceptions of our separation.

When our hearts are broken, is the one breaking them another version of us playing their role in the eternal dance of cosmically expanding education?

Is our perception of separation in this life —just another iteration of eternal love, pulsating from the forgetfulness - or grand performance, of another?

When we see from the heart, we see —

Some thoughts to ponder:

Is a fear of dying keeping us from truly living?

During the last 200 years, there has been movement away from the belief in eternal life/reincarnation, which was the prevalent belief of the majority of humanity for the first 95% of existence. Has this movement created fear and avoidance around the idea that we are experiencing a linear, singular and therefore, finite, relationship to life?

Is that belief serving us? And, what if the first 95% of human time had it right.

How does fear of dying affect our day to day experience of living and of being with hard things — the things that threaten our very mortality?

What happens when we are liberated from such fear?
