My parents met doing salmon restoration work in the Redwoods of Northern California. My mother Juanita spent hours in the rushing cold waters, those waters blessing and purifying her body. I was a miracle baby, always eager to get the party started, and arrived as soon as I could.

Deva and I had many conversations about baby before we conceived. Heck, I had spent the previous year supporting the creation of 3 books about water birth, ecstatic birth and neutralizing birth trauma. We thought we consciously conceived, but it turns out the star baby beat us to the chase by less than a week…

During a trimester-two midwife visit, Deva and I discovered that we actually conceived our star baby when visiting the same region of the Redwoods where I had been conceived. Just like the salmon, I had returned, ready to shed a former version of myself which had given so much to my communities, just as the salmon gives her body back to the river after spawning, where it feeds the soils and surrounding wildlife.

While our lovemaking had been deep, intentional, connected and in a lovingly prepared and candle lit space- the consciousness of conceiving was beyond what our minds could have imagined. The grounds had been laid and the gateways were open, and this little one came in of her own accord.

My balance is different, but still strong. My movements are still intuitive, yet there’s a new sense of self-awareness emerging. And for all the work I’ve done to liberate myself, to access the purity of my sensuality and pleasure, to embrace my beauty and delight... there’s an edge arising.

“Is it appropriate to be dancing like this (with my belly and boobs, newly enlarged and blossoming) while I’m pregnant?”… I catch it, the little voice of superstition and self-doubt. I laugh aloud to move the energy and feel my spine tingle as I look deeper into the subconscious programming.

The women of my lineage who had not harnessed their sexual power. Christian shame and purity culture. Me, a pregnant and unwed woman, dancing sensually by herself in public.

It became delicious. Instead of shame, I breathed deeper into my core and dipped deep into a squat. Moving with primal action close towards the earth. Making luxurious guttural sounds and dropping my crown while shaking my head and hair loose to the beat. I became the blood and bones and lineage before suppression of the magic of a pregnant woman, she who moves between the veils and feels the intimate ceremony of a growing consciousness inside of her body.

And I danced. I danced off the concept of being “an appropriate pregnant woman.” I felt alive, aligned, and when the time came that I was tired- I brought myself home. Fulfilled, in love and completely met by sweetie who was taking our pup for his last evening walk. We took long hugs as we came back together after our day apart, admired the garden growing in the front yard, and nursed the sweetness of our chosen life.

Part of pregnancy has been observing the changing body. Holding onto water, weight and fat. Changing my workout routine, and integrating new practices specifically to prepare for birth. Moving from a vegan diet to a high protein, animal inclusive diet. And so much more. It’s been a ceremony, and opportunity to repattern the deepest subconscious. Especially as it pertains to my self-image, and allowing my body to be fully seen, sensually and physically.

I feel good about my body, and I love my Venusian curves. Early on in the second trimester I was out at brunch with two friends. My body had begun changing, and a friend who was triggered by their own body weight, accidentally said something judgmental in an effort to show support. I was surprised, and relieved that it didn’t touch anything inside of me. I felt acceptance and even joy with the body changes. As a bonus, our other friend who was a part of the conversation connected eyes with me to gauge the response, and when she assessed that everything was cool, we gracefully moved on without a word. I felt so seen, supported and loved in that moment. And proud of all the work I had done to reach that level of self-acceptance and love.

A few weeks later I was in a morning eft session and had an unexpected flash back to being 9 years old, to the first time I ever felt bad about my body. I was visiting my grandmother, and her sister had come over for lunch. As I was washing the dishes my great aunt came up next to me and said, “Well, you’re getting fat.” I was just a child, who was taught to not talk back to adults. So I stopped washing the dishes and simply walked away to another room to be alone, and ask myself, was I fat? In hindsight, I was pre-pubescent and going through massive hormonal changes. My body was awkwardly adjusting as it filled out from a little girl frame into a teenager. Also, we later realized, that this great aunt had a serious eating disorder and was simply projecting onto me.

That flashback memory was arising at because, at the time, I ‘looked more than bloated’ but wasn’t visibly pregnant yet, and I was flooded with hormones to support the growth of this baby. It was an opportunity to resolve a subconscious part of myself that needed healing from ever believing that I was fat.

It was profound. I receive these opportunities as gifts to release an inheritance of what no longer serves before the next generation arrives.

And for every single person that tells a pregnant woman that she looks beautiful- thank you. Your words mean a lot. I can’t tell you how much it energized me at the dance last night being approached by gorgeous, fit, loving women who were telling me I was beautiful and glowing. Those words filled in the cracks. Not necessarily because they said it, but because I chose to believe it.

Forgiveness has been coming to me this week. I could sense it had to do with a former relationship where things didn’t go as I expected (to put it lightly). I thought that the healing was done, but on this rich day full eclipse energy and insights, I discovered a part of me that was ready to change a narrative of my past. A story I didn’t realize was creating dissonance in my present life. The last time I viscerally felt what I’m writing about here was 7 years ago, the photo in the title banner was taken during that time. I honor our shared joys and sorrows.

When something doesn’t go your way, it can feel devastating. There is a void, as something has been removed from your idea of life without your permission. This is especially true when it comes to relationships in which we envision ourself having a child with our partner... and for whatever reason, it doesn’t happen.

Today I talked with a woman in her mid-thirties who was experiencing a crisis in her relationship. She was very clear and communicated that she wanted to have children, the man she was initiating a romantic relationship with (after 10 years of friendship) agreed. He said that he also wanted to have children. So she opened herself up fully to the experience. Her heart, her womb and her essence were indistinguishably unified with this man to the point of cocreation. While the relationship began in ultimate joy, pleasure and bliss... this quickly faded when conversations about marriage and child raising became a vision of “a few years from now.” See, she had done what so many women do... she later admitted she never stopped to ask the clarifying questions. She assumed that when he said he wanted to have children, he meant right now. Because, well, that’s what she meant. And to be fair, he never asked the clarifying questions either, leaving them both in the dark.

This is one of the most common things I see in my work, and I want to name it clearly: so many women fall in love with a feeling of alignment before they’ve actually listened for it. Men, when they’re falling in love, will often reflect back exactly what you say to them, not out of dishonesty, but because the desire to be in unison with you is real, even before the follow-through is. Learning to listen, to what’s actually being said versus what you’re hoping to hear, became one of the deepest lessons of my own path to motherhood, and it’s exactly what surfaced for her.

When this did come to the surface, this woman wound up feeling confused, betrayed, and abandoned. No matter how many times they talked, she wasn’t able to accept that he wanted to have children with her and build a life together, but that he just wasn’t ready. Him not being ready was her excuse and opportunity to make it a personal issue... to mean something about her. She began to withdraw, withhold, and, as she’d eventually name it herself, threaten the relationship.

What wasn’t being seen was that this woman herself wasn’t ready to have a child. There were many things in her life that were asking to be put in order to actualize the quality of child raising and family experiences that she frankly requires to become a mom in the first place. This is a pattern I see constantly with women who want children but haven’t yet: an unwillingness to sacrifice the vision of motherhood for the harder, less romantic work of becoming the adult (the independent, self-sufficient role model) that motherhood requires. This was a significant perspective shift, that became the stepping stones to embracing patience and finding fulfillment in the present moment. But before we reached this part of our session, we began by exploring the underlying causes of feeling confused, lied to and betrayed when her partner told her what his truth was.

The core emotional experience was stemming from an experience much earlier in life where this woman actually was lied to, betrayed, hurt and abandoned. The first-time experience was in fact still visceral, the original emotions had never been properly cared for or resolved. For this reason, they were re-surfacing in her present relationship to be dealt with. She had reached a place of depth and security with her partner, she had allowed herself to be so deeply penetrated, that the opportunity arose for deep healing. This experience of destabilization within her present life was the perfect chance for her partner to show up as secure, emotionally mature and strong enough to meet her without losing his truth.

By creating acceptance of the past experience, we were able to create acceptance of her present moment. We were able to gracefully discover that what happened in the past was in fact for the best, and although unexpected, it set her up for more joy and health and success in life. From this realization it was plausible to conclude that the current unexpected challenges were also happening in her favor. I then asked her to tell me all of the reasons why this could be happening in her favor, and she was on a roll.

“So that I can grow my business. So that I can secure financial success. So that I can provide for my kids. So that I can be a successful mom and role model for my kids. So that my partner doesn’t have to work so hard. So that my partner can have a job he loves too. So that I can stabilize the quality of life that I want before my family comes. So that I can follow my vision and sense of adventure before I put all my energy into raising babies. So that my babies can then follow in footsteps and join me in those activities later in life...”

All of a sudden, being asked a year to wait before marriage and kids sounded like the best thing ever. All of a sudden, the choice to stay in her relationship or end it was no longer about an ultimatum, it returned to what a relationship should always be centered around. Which is, do you enjoy being with this person? Do you want to spend time together? Do you love who you are when you’re with them.

As we closed the session she merrily told me her body was full of light. That she saw things totally differently, and that she felt completely prepared for the following day’s big conversation.

Regardless of what happens between her and her partner, this woman found her power again. She found her sense of self-worth, her ability to trust, and her strength to continue building a life even if it wasn’t what she had initially expected.

Life is always acting on our behalf, and in our favor, even when we can’t see it.

It’s part of the work. What it takes to consciously conceive is much more than picking the right mate. It’s knowing yourself, your capacity and your values to the core. My journey towards motherhood has been long, and sweet... full of big dreams and letting go’s.

Like many woman, I felt in my deepest intuition and heart song the calling to be a mother for a long time. There is a grief that accompanies this, the grief that says... “Why hasn’t it happened yet?” Or “You’re making this impossibly difficult, your expectations are unrealistic.” Or “I really thought we would have a family...” Or “I really love him, but I know he’s not ready to be a father- am I self-abandoning by staying in this relationship?”

What I learned was patience, self-respect, discernment and most of all, trust. It wasn’t until I realized that I was letting opportunities in my professional and artistic life fall away in pursuit of motherhood, that I finally decided to root firmly in my knowing that if I’m meant to have a daughter (or son) it will be.

And something magical happened then... I started focusing on myself. I started focusing on my personal goals, my financial wellbeing, my body’s optimal health, building my Queendom and launching my creative endeavors. I got a puppy dog, and I grew up. My values matured, and I stopped entertaining experiences that would have caught my eye in the past. Most importantly, when I did open up, I spoke freely and directly. If I wasn’t met in this clarity and intention, there’s wasn’t a lag period or mourning. I came back to myself and my priorities.

I loved myself. I felt full, and yes... it’s true. I was completely satisfied being with by myself. Because I didn’t feel alone, and I trusted.

When I met Deva, we knew by the second day why we had been brought together. For the first time, it wasn’t me who spoke. I had learned to listen. And as I did, he poured into my heart and soul and mind everything I had ever felt and envisioned. Under a sky full of stars, I felt the truth of destiny emerging between us. I allowed synchronicities to guide the way, opening doors and affirming with a resounding Yes that now was the time to step into motherhood with this incredible man.

This love has stretched me in unimaginable ways, strengthened me and is the waters and stones and flowers upon which offerings are made for our family. There is much more to share, and perhaps I will. But for now, I’m very happy to formally announce with our family and friends and community online that we are pregnant, healthy and thrilled to be stewarding a bright light here onto earth, together.

How does one traverse all of existence to manifest in human form, here on earth? What is the goodness we can bestow upon them, the stories we will choose to uplift and the actions we take that role model a world worth living in?

I visit my womb to sit with these questions, and I watch my environment bring back the perfect reflections through conversation, through a moment’s brilliance while looking into the trees, through the simplicity of fully receiving another as I observe their unique embodiment.

Our diversity makes us so much stronger. In the center of our flesh-colored human desire to be right, safe, secure and seen is simply the word-less texture of something which has never been broken, can never be taken, nor given away.

I spoke to her, my neighbor and friend. Mourning the recent death of her husband, offering an opportunity to feel past the façade of hosting guests... to find a pool where she could melt into the containment of another. The good memories. How did you meet? When did you first fall in love with him? These stories weren’t romance, they were a codex to the way she moves through the world. Something much deeper emerged, a sensation of being met in a place that before was only bookmarked by the now deceased. She poured into mythical creatures, divinations and the magic of becoming with another being. I said yes with my softness and genuine curiosity, where others may have found limitations in the magic of life.

“They gave me songs,” she said. “My soul comes from the stars, my body from the earth.”

This conversation stays with me through the evening, and I reflect at the narrative cast upon humanity. Why have we chosen, or continue to move blindly through a numbed creation story which separates us from the magic of our divinity? Our ability to move through time-space, to enlarge and suspend the moments and movements... to listen and see further than a sleeping eye. How would Zeus rage and turn tides as dolphins are being murdered? What treasure does Persephone provide from the underworld? Some say that we have chosen this human incarnation, others say that Remembers would rather hide. I sit in the question of how do we choose to relate to, and weave our collective life

In this conversation with Shannon, we open at the threshold of the liberated voice: healing, freedom, feminine power, and the deeper remembrance of belonging.

Belonging lives at the heart of community, and community is our remembrance of unity. When that connection is alive, there is a felt sense of relationship with self, body, spirit, and one another. When that connection feels out of reach, fear, shame, dissociation, anxiety, stress, grief, and insomnia can begin moving through the system, and the body begins asking for care, awareness, and reconnection.

The voice lives here as more than expression. The voice is a catalyst. The voice carries us from suppression into truth, from numbness into embodiment, from helplessness into participation. In a time when so many people are feeling overwhelmed or uncertain how to stay connected to love, the voice becomes a practice of remembering inner power, inner safety, and the capacity to contribute to the healing of the whole.

Shannon and I move into the deeper rebalancing happening in our world, especially around the feminine voice. The feminine does not need to reject the masculine in order to return to wholeness. The divine feminine and divine masculine can be brought into relationship within the self, each offering intelligence, support, and clarity. Anger, grief, and sacred rage do not need to become punishment or separation. They can become information. They can become prayer. They can become movement toward deeper integrity, deeper listening, and deeper service to life.

There is space here, too, for the lived path of finding the voice after years of disconnection. A life can look successful on the outside and still feel far from truth on the inside. A nervous system can become so braced, so protective, that truth feels inaccessible until enough safety is present for honesty to emerge. The return to voice is often also a return to alignment, and from that place, life begins to reorganize.

The nervous system is central in this conversation. Singing, toning, and humming create vibration in the vocal cords, and that vibration stimulates the vagus nerve. The vagus nerve reaches from the brainstem down through the body, touching the organs and supporting emotional regulation. Sound becomes a direct pathway for settling, softening, and dropping out of the mind and back into the body. Presence becomes more available. Breath becomes more available. Choice becomes more available.

The body is also alive with energy, with centers of intelligence, with memory, with patterning, with inherited and direct experience. Different tones can support different centers of healing: security, creativity, confidence, belonging, heart-opening, expression, intuition. The voice meets the body here not as performance, but as medicine. Not as perfection, but as relationship.

This is the heart of Harmonize, an eight-year body of work I’ve developed that is devoted to voice activation and healing. The path begins with the relationship to the voice itself: being witnessed there, listening there, learning where the disconnection lives. It deepens into the home of the voice in the womb space, into sexual healing, confidence building, articulation, inner child work, communication practice, and the real-world application of voice in daily life, relationships, work, and leadership.

Again and again, women arrive at this work carrying sexual trauma, whether directly experienced or inherited, and again and again the body reveals how deeply that trauma can shape the voice. When the body does not feel safe, the voice often does not feel free. When safety begins to return, expression begins to return with it.

Within the interview, there is also a guided practice, a simple and powerful nervous system reset through breath, humming, tongue placement, body awareness, and connection to the womb space. It offers a way to return home quickly. A way to ground before an important conversation. A way to open or close a workshop. A way to help the body remember safety and presence in only a few moments.

As the conversation opens wider, sacred sound becomes not only music, but life itself. The first cry of a baby. Birds in the morning. Frogs at night. A woman wailing in the fullness of her expression. Prayer. Song. The tenderness of truth spoken with care.

Language carries impact. Gossip, blame, judgment, and othering shape a field of separation. Beauty, benevolence, peace, and loving truth shape a field of connection. The voice can participate in either. The invitation here is toward the kind of voice that supports life.

There is also the mystery of vocal awakening, the moment when the voice is no longer something managed or controlled, but something alive, ancient, intelligent, and undeniable. The path of voice can open into devotion, remembrance, freedom, and joy. Even fear can belong there. Even nervousness can belong there. The invitation is not to become perfect. The invitation is to become more honest, more embodied, and more available to the pleasure and power of sound.

This weekend I was immersed in a large skills gathering, where over 800 women came together in the woods along a stream in Oregon. There were ceremonies, song circles, crafting workshops and babies and mamas everywhere. It was beautiful, gentle, and most of all, it felt safe. Women felt safe to be naked, to talk openly about hormones and body changes, to embrace one another in tears and celebration alike.

I was working in the empowerment center as 1 of 5 professional therapists, creating sacred space for individuals to have breakthrough sessions within a 25-minute container and hosted a vocal-tantra circle where we went deep into the womb-voice connection and how to integrate that sexual trauma (direct or inherited) is the number one reason women are disconnected from their voice. It was powerful, and I’ll share more about this below.

Perhaps the most empowering aspect of the gathering was learning about a neighboring threat of nickel mining, and the reality of our personal responsibility to raise our voices in advocacy for the health of our children, our drinking water, near-extinction species, the salmon and countless other environmental factors. I will also share a document about this below.

Vocal Tantra: A Path to Neutralizing Sexual Trauma

Let’s first begin by exploring the prevalence of sexual trauma. But before we do, I invite you to take a deep breath and ask yourself if you’re in the right mind-space to deep dive. You didn’t ask for this information to be delivered straight to your Substack, just as these women didn’t ask for unwanted sexual advances.

Worldwide, 1 in 5 girls have experienced sexual violence as a child. The most vulnerable age group are women ages 18-24, they experience 3 times the rate of rape and sexual assault compared to other age groups. A 2024 study shows more than 1 in 2 women report experiencing sexual violence at least once in their lifetime and 81% of women have reported experiencing sexual harassment and/or assault at some point in their lives.

When I began developing the Harmonize voice activation modality in 2017, I never could have imagined where my client’s healing journey would guide the body of work. Again and again, I discovered that the core cause of vocal shut down and female disempowerment was sexual trauma.

Over time, I came to understand that inherited sexual trauma left the same imprint on women who had not directly been assaulted. Now this is serious, because when we explore the history of love, sex and relationship, “consent” is a relatively recent concept. Most of our grandmothers did not have a right to say no to sex. It was often unwanted and “taken.” These traumatic events are carried in the genetic makeup for 2 generations (if not longer). Which means that when we look at statistics, it’s very unlikely that there are any women who are untouched by the emotional, mental and energetic impacts of sexual trauma.

Fortunately, trauma can be neutralized. We are not sentenced to our genetic makeup, or even to our own personal-life experiences. The field of Epigenetics has proven that we can do the work to “switch” genes on/off. This is prevalent across somatic fields of healing, such as EFT (tapping) and the Harmonize technique I offer.

Harmonize is an effective method in that with simple humming and toning practices, we stimulate the vocal cords which rest against the vagus nerve. When the vagus nerve is stimulated, it sends subtle vibrations into the body and into the brain- which resets our emotional regulation and settles the nervous system. Meanwhile, the practice further develops into stimulating dormant life-force energy, specifically originating from the sacral. As the sacral is sourced, our creative-life force energy begins to pulsate through our entire body and field- this is also our sexual energy.

These practices are designed to gently surface and neutralize trauma. They are designed to de-condition the experience of feeling fully turned on from a sexualized experience into an empowered experience. The benefits are immediate and profound.

Layered into the vocal exercises are communication formulas, self expression techniques, family dynamic liberation modules and inner child healing. Sometimes this is self guided, other times it’s role play. While I work with most of my clients 1:1 through recurring Zoom sessions, sometimes I have the opportunity to meet in person through events and retreats.

We need safe spaces to explore these topics, and to dispel the shame and fear surrounding it. The attendees of the Vocal Tantra circle I hosted at Spirit Weavers determined the direction and depth of the content. After a series of partner toning exercises and group shares, I led the women into a role play example of how exactly to speak to a person who had sexually molested them as a child. This was helpful for a handful of women who had directly experienced it, but further, for the majority of the group who had supported friends and family through similar recovery processes.

The most vocally empowering thing a woman can do is to lovingly resolve her trauma through a direct conversation with the person she deems the most responsible. To be heard, to seek understanding and recognition.

The choice to heal is always within our own hands.

There is a Native American saying to “Forgive the Unforgivable.” This is not about excusing the wrongdoer or forgetting the pain. Rather, it is an active choice to release the burden of resentment. Here, we find true liberation.

Most of us were handed relationship templates that were never actually designed for our wholeness. Historically, marriage was a contract about land and resources, with women literally treated as property. Love was optional. Consent didn’t exist. Sex was about procreation, not pleasure or mutuality.

We are a generation that’s consciously asking:

- What if partnership isn’t ownership?

- What if love doesn’t have to equal control?

- What if devotion and freedom can coexist?

I shared in the interview that there is no hierarchy of relationship structures. Monogamy, “monogamish,” polyamory, solo partnership with self – none of these are automatically more “evolved.” Different seasons of our lives ask for different containers.

What actually matters is the energy underneath:

- Are we relating from fear, scarcity, and control?

- Or from overflow, truth, and deep respect for each other’s souls?

For me, love is not just who you have sex with. Love is an energy field that moves through friendships, collaborators, the cute barista, your long-term partner, your own body. It’s the cleanest power source we have when it’s not distorted by possession or shame.

When we stop performing the “good girl” or the “good partner” and start telling the truth – about what we feel, what we desire, what no longer fits – our relationships become living, breathing temples instead of contracts we’re trapped inside of.

This desire for professional and artistic creation is reflection in my personal desire to become a mother. Many things have changed in my life since I relocated from Hawaii to Ashland to nest with my beloved. Considering a further surrender into cocreation fills me with an urgency to bring these insights and gifts into a community offering. As I developed Harmonize, I enrolled myself in educational programs that taught skills ranging from somatic wellness and tantra, to trauma neutralization, to planetary regenerative solutions and modern applications of theories inspired by Buckminster Fuller. In 2025 I took a break from my coaching to support an elder in the culmination of their live’s work by translating, transcribing, writing, researching and editing a trilogy about ecstatic birthing and neutralizing birth trauma.

Now, I reflect on the gaps I perceived in these programs... women’s leadership and empowerment that collapsed into self gratification and sensualization. Global scale impact and systems design stuck in the mind and disconnected from the heart, art and beauty. Trauma informed healing modalities that prevented people from seeing the perfection and wholeness of right now, caught in healing the past or being good enough for the future. This awareness is what is shaping my spring launch, Love Talks.

I don’t consider this taking a “break.” Instead, it’s an essential aspect of my somatic practice to stay grounded and clear so that my output is clean, impactful and effective. To gather fresh inspiration, to integrate the interview and to treat my body kindly. I watched an outdoor classroom of young children sliding down boulders and climbing the wooden bridge. I met with a friend and we brainstormed future creative collaborations. I even visited my neighbor at their downtown bakery. All of these things feed the connections and deeper sense of purpose that are behind running a successful business.

When we stop building with a 2-year sellout plan and start designing with a 7-generation impact in mind, relationships become central to the work we offer.

Leaving the matrix means accepting that, unfortunately, many businesses are established on extractive models that look to exploit attention and win power-over. Instead of asking ourselves, “How can I build this?” We begin to ask ourselves, “Should I build this?” We move from competition models to collaboration models.

This is a simple example of what working within the Divine Feminine principle looks like. It’s not using AI to rapid-write this post or tomorrow’s newsletter... it’s staying connected to my heart and body so that I can feel and be guided by my intuition... so that in return, you can feel me and you can sense yourself while reading this.

The way that we build our businesses matters, it’s like designing a governance system for our personal life, while also considering the impact that has on those around us.

Incorporating somatic practices to stay in touch with your emotions will help prevent burn out, as well as minor mistakes and major relationship collapses that occur when we’re stressed out from overworking or in the mind for long periods of time.

Working with our emotional flow is classically a feminine principle, which is in stark contrast to the patriarchal systems that currently run our government, schools, medical system and economics. When we are in touch with our emotional flow, it’s okay to not have all the answers right away- to take time and pause and consider, to communicate about possibilities and short-term test methods rather than push ahead and willpower our way with force while ignoring resistance.

When we’re in touch with our hearts, it’s easier to listen to one another, to practice patience as we learn and teach others new skills, and ultimately discover pleasure and presence in the growth of work towards the goal.

When we incorporate somatics into our business building practices, it becomes much more than a supplement… it’s a fundamental rebalancing of the entire system.

Hi, fam. I’m tuning in with you, bringing an update in advocacy for our planet, for the voiceless: the trees, the insects, the soil, and the water.

This article is about the takeover happening in Venezuela right before our eyes, and the regenerative fuel alternatives we could choose instead.

This matters to me because it’s like an open wound that our entire planet can now witness. Living on the mainland in the United States, I’m painfully aware of the contrast between mainstream news and the story being told here, versus the reality of international consensus. What’s happening isn’t right.

So buckle up, because I’m going to guide you into a perspective on fossil fuel oligarchy and the Venezuelan invasion. And I’m going to ask you to consider a choice: to take the proposed $58 billion that it would cost to invade another country and seize their oil and mineral reserves, and instead consider how that money could empower regenerative solutions here on American soil, impacting countless families in multigenerational ways.

Abstract

On January 3, 2026, the United States launched a military operation against Venezuela, capturing President Nicolás Maduro and declaring temporary control over the nation’s oil infrastructure. This article examines how this invasion, and the broader pattern of Trump administration resource extraction policies, reveals a fundamental truth obscured by mainstream American media: we are witnessing an oligarchy desperately trying to extract maximum wealth from fossil fuels before the world transitions to renewable energy, regardless of human cost, environmental destruction, or international law.

Through analysis of international news sources, legal frameworks, and climate science (as well as the information that my Beloved waters me when he knows it’s time to ground into world politics) this thesis argues that Trump’s actions represent not drug enforcement or democracy promotion, but naked 19th-century resource imperialism rebranded for the 21st century, pursued while the planet burns.

Crucially, this article demonstrates that the choice is not between “doing something” and “doing nothing.” Trump has stated that rebuilding Venezuela’s degraded oil infrastructure would cost approximately $58 billion. That exact amount could instead deploy regenerative infrastructure across America: unlocking 50-80 gigawatts of clean energy through grid modernization, retrofitting millions of homes with efficient heat pumps, restoring 50-70 million acres through regenerative agriculture, and creating 600,000 to 1 million jobs while generating $200-300 billion in economic returns over 15-20 years. The question this thesis poses is not whether viable alternatives exist. They do, fully costed and technically feasible. Rather, who decides how capital is deployed, in whose interest, and whether an oligarchy will choose violence for yesterday’s energy or investment in tomorrow’s regenerative prosperity.

Introduction: What Happened in the Early Hours of January 3, 2026

Two hours. That's how long it took for the United States military to overthrow the Venezuelan government, capture its president, and declare control over the world's largest oil reserves. At approximately 2 AM local time on Saturday, January 3, 2026, the United States military launched what President Donald Trump called “an assault like people have not seen since World War II.” The operation, designated “Operation Absolute Resolve,” deployed overwhelming air, land, and sea forces against Venezuela. At least seven explosions rocked Caracas. Delta Force operatives captured President Nicolás Maduro from his home within the Fort Tiuna military installation. Within two hours, Maduro was aboard the USS Iwo Jima, blindfolded, before his military could respond.

This single night of violence crystallizes a choice that extends far beyond Venezuela’s borders.

Why This Moment Matters: Oligarchy, Climate Crisis, and the Road Not Taken

Trump has stated that rebuilding Venezuela’s degraded oil infrastructure would cost approximately $58 billion. That exact sum, deployed toward regenerative infrastructure instead, represents one of the starkest choices in modern history. The technology exists. The workforce can be trained. The economic case is proven.

Yet instead of building systems that address the climate crisis while creating prosperity, American military force secures access to fossil fuel reserves that accelerate planetary collapse. This is not an accident of poor planning or misguided strategy. It reveals the fundamental logic of oligarchic rule: those who profit from extraction will deploy state violence to maintain extractive systems, even as those systems destroy the ecological foundations of civilization itself.

The Venezuela invasion exposes what mainstream American media consistently obscures. What follows documents not only what happened in Venezuela, but the pattern of resource extraction driving American policy, the alternatives being deliberately ignored, and what this moment means for the future.

For me personally, yesterday I was going to get a bagel at our corner cafe with my sweetie. We were listening to NPR, and I was blown away. After deeply processing through the research and writing of this article, here was NPR justifying America’s actions by basically saying, “the Venezuelan people didn’t like the president and it’s been well known for a long time that the Venezuelan president wasn’t very popular… Some people are even celebrating this.” As I heard what the NPR was reporting ( mainstream, common, considered liberal news) I really just had to sink into the depth of what’s being shared and what isn’t being shared.

The Operation: How It Unfolded

Trump later stated that Maduro was “highly guarded” in a presidential palace like a “fortress” and tried to reach a safe room but couldn’t get there in time. The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs confirmed the entire operation took just over two hours. Photos circulated showing Maduro aboard the USS Iwo Jima in a grey tracksuit with a black band covering his eyes, holding a water bottle.

Trump announced the US would “run” Venezuela temporarily and extract oil to reimburse the US for “damages caused.” This framing, as enforcement of a 2020 narcoterrorism indictment rather than “kidnapping,” is the official US position. But international observers see it clearly as regime change under the guise of drug enforcement.

The Staggering Hypocrisy: 400 Tons of Cocaine and Selective Justice

To understand the true nature of this operation, we must examine what happened just one month earlier: Trump’s pardon of former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández.

The Hernández Case: Proven Mass Drug Trafficking

Juan Orlando Hernández was sentenced to 45 years in federal prison for using his position as Honduran president to help drug traffickers import more than 400 tons of cocaine into the United States while accepting bribes. To comprehend this scale:

• 400 tons = 800,000 pounds = 362 million grams

• That represents potentially billions of individual doses that reached American streets

• A US prosecutor said Hernández “paved a cocaine superhighway to the United States”

Hernández didn’t just allow drug trafficking. He actively facilitated it using state power. He worked directly with El Chapo and the Sinaloa Cartel, received millions in bribes, and used the Honduran military and police to protect drug shipments. According to trial testimony, he allegedly said “We’re going to shove the drugs right up the noses of the gringos.” His co-conspirators were armed with machine guns, AK-47s, AR-15s, and grenade launchers to protect cocaine loads transiting Honduras.

After a three-week jury trial, Hernández was found guilty. The judge called him “a two-faced politician hungry for power” who pretended to fight trafficking while enabling it. This wasn’t an allegation. It was proven beyond reasonable doubt in federal court with a jury verdict.

Trump pardoned him on December 1, 2025, just one month before attacking Venezuela supposedly over drugs.

How the Pardon Happened

The mechanics reveal pure corruption. Roger Stone lobbied Trump, passing him a letter from Hernández in which the convicted trafficker praised Trump as “Your Excellency” and claimed he “suffered political persecution” from the Biden administration, comparing himself to Trump. Stone gave the letter to Trump, who pardoned Hernández less than 20 minutes later.

But there was more: Trump announced the pardon as part of a broader message endorsing Nasry “Tito” Asfura, the presidential candidate of Hernández’s National Party, seemingly conditioning future US support for Honduras on Asfura’s victory. Pure transactional politics: justice traded for political favor.

Remarkably, Hernández’s brother was actually prosecuted during Trump’s first term by Emil Bove, who then became Trump’s personal attorney and is now a federal judge nominated by Trump.

The Maduro Charges: Unproven Allegations

In stark contrast, Maduro faces charges from a 2020 indictment that has never been tested in court: narco-terrorism conspiracy, cocaine importation conspiracy, possession of machine guns and destructive devices, and conspiracy to possess machine guns. The indictment alleges coordination with cartels but presents no proven case. Maduro denies everything.

The Comparison: A Proven Trafficker Walks Free, An Accused Country Gets Bombed

Trump is literally bombing a country over unproven drug allegations while pardoning a convicted drug trafficker whose guilt was established beyond reasonable doubt in federal court. The cocaine facilitated by Hernández, 400+ tons, dwarfs the typical boat seizure of about 1 ton. Hernández facilitated 400 times more cocaine than a typical drug vessel, yet walks free while Venezuela burns.

The impact of Hernández’s trafficking on America was catastrophic. His protection of drug operations contributed to mass emigration, with US Customs and Border Protection recording nearly 1.1 million apprehensions of Honduran nationals during his administration. The cocaine he facilitated fueled addiction that destroys families and communities across America. Gang violence funded by drug money claims countless lives.

And Trump pardoned the architect of this carnage while claiming to fight drugs.

This selective prosecution isn’t about justice, it’s about political alignment and resource control. Hernández was loyal to Trump’s interests; Maduro was not.

Trump’s Unprecedented Criminal Record

To understand the man implementing these policies, we must examine his unique status in American history.

First Former President Ever Criminally Charged

In 2023, four criminal indictments were filed against Donald Trump, making him the first former president of the United States to be criminally charged. Trump initially faced 88 criminal charges total across four cases related to election interference, classified documents, and falsifying business records.

Comparison to Other Presidents

Historical context:

• Andrew Johnson was impeached in 1868, but not criminally charged

• Nixon faced the Watergate scandal but resigned before charges; some administration officials were charged but not Nixon himself

• The Clinton administration had 2 officials indicted

• Obama administration: None

• Carter administration: None

No other president in American history has faced criminal indictment. Trump is in a category by himself, a president with an unprecedented criminal record now wielding military force to invade sovereign nations.

The “No War” Lie

Trump explicitly campaigned saying he would avoid wars. He positioned himself as the peace candidate who would keep America out of foreign conflicts. Now he’s launched the largest US military operation in Latin America since 1989.

White House chief of staff Susie Wiles told Vanity Fair that Trump wants to keep targeting boats until Maduro “cries uncle”, admitting this is about regime change through military pressure, not drugs.

The pattern is textbook: promise peace, deliver war. Campaign on avoiding conflict, then launch the largest US military operation in Latin America since 1989.

The Expansion Fantasy

Trump has suggested annexing Canada, Greenland, Gaza, the Panama Canal, and “influencing the direction of the Catholic Church.”

During his speech to Congress about Greenland, Trump stated: “One way or the other, we’re going to get it.”

About Gaza, Trump suggested Arab countries should accept Palestinian refugees: “You’re talking about probably a million and a half people. And we just clean out that whole thing.” According to historian Daniel Immerwahr, Trump’s fantasy for Gaza “involved the complete ethnic cleansing of Gaza, so that it would contain no more Gazans,” turning it into a “Riviera of the Middle East.”

According to a February 2025 poll, only 4% of Americans support American expansion if it requires military force, yet Trump is pursuing it anyway.

The pardoning of Hernández and Trump's own criminal record reveal the character of leadership behind the Venezuela invasion. But the invasion itself was preceded by months of a parallel campaign that received minimal US media attention: systematic killings in international waters justified by an undeclared war on drugs.

The Hidden Death Toll: 115 People Killed in Boat Strikes

Before the Venezuela invasion, another horrifying pattern was unfolding in the Caribbean, one that received minimal US media coverage but was extensively documented internationally.

The Strike Campaign

Since late August 2025, the US military has killed 115 people in strikes that destroyed 36 boats as part of a campaign Washington claims is aimed at curtailing drug flow. The US has declared it is in an “armed conflict” against drug cartels and labeled those killed “unlawful combatants,” a designation that strips them of legal protections.

The “Double-Tap” Killings

The most disturbing aspect: In the first strike on September 2, the US military carried out a follow-up strike after an initial attack didn’t kill everyone on board. The military was aware there were survivors in the water and carried out another strike to both sink the vessel and kill the remaining crew.

Legal experts say this “double-tap” killing could violate the law of armed conflict, which prohibits execution of an enemy combatant who is “hors de combat,” or taken out of the fight due to injury or surrender. This wasn’t neutralizing a threat, it was executing survivors in the water.

The Victims: Fishermen or Traffickers?

Many killed were Colombians, Trinidadians, and Venezuelans, some may have been fishermen or small-time operators, killed without trial based on unproven allegations. When boats are struck, officials sometimes find packages adding up to about 1 ton of cocaine. But were all these boats trafficking? Were all these people knowing participants?

One survivor in Ecuador was released by authorities after they said they had no evidence he committed a crime, meaning the US killed his entire crew for unproven allegations.

Why It Wasn’t Stopped

The Republican-controlled US Senate twice rejected resolutions that would limit Trump’s authority to continue military action. The United Kingdom stopped sharing intelligence with the US about suspected drug-trafficking vessels because it doesn’t want to be complicit in what it believes are illegal attacks.

115 people killed. No trials. No due process. Just military force applied to suspected drug vessels in international waters, justified by an undeclared “war on cartels” that has no legal basis.

The Real Motive: Oil, Not Drugs

If this were genuinely about drugs, the contradictions would be inexplicable. But international media, particularly from China, Russia, Mexico, and Europe, has been explicit about what US sources often obscure: this is about oil control, not drug enforcement.

Trump’s Own Words

Trump himself made the objective clear. He stated explicitly: “Our very large oil companies, the biggest in the world, are going to go there and fix the oil infrastructure and start making money for that country.” He justified this by claiming Venezuela’s oil industry was built by the United States and that “the socialist regime stole it from us.”

Trump announced: “We’re going to have our very large United States oil companies, the biggest anywhere in the world, go in, spend billions of dollars, fix the badly broken infrastructure, the oil infrastructure” and extract Venezuelan oil, with proceeds going to reimburse the US.

His government’s involvement “won’t cost us a penny” because the United States would be reimbursed from the “money coming out of the ground,” referring to Venezuela’s oil reserves.

Trump declared: “We’re going to govern the country until we can make a safe, appropriate and judicious transition,” without giving indications of how long this occupation could last. “We can’t risk anyone else taking control of Venezuela... We’re not going to allow that to happen. We’re there now and we’ll remain until an appropriate transition can be carried out.”

Trump states the neocolonial objective openly: using military force to seize control of another nation’s resources and install US corporate management.

International Sources Confirm the Oil Motive

Chinese state media was explicit. Venezuelan political analyst Sergio Rodriguez Gelfenstein told the Global Times: “Venezuela has the largest oil reserves in the world and is also one of the countries with the largest natural gas reserves. These two components make taking control of the country highly desirable for the West.” He stated bluntly: “The most fundamental reason is that Venezuela has enormous energy wealth.”

Xinhua quoted Venezuela’s defense chief saying Venezuela’s military knows “the true goal of the United States is to gain control over the South American country’s vast oil reserves and gold deposits.”

Russian media RT reported: “The US operation against Venezuela was sustained by supposed anti-cartel operations that Caracas insistently denounced as ‘aggression’ to provoke ‘regime change,’ whose final objective is to seize the vast riches of the Bolivarian nation, especially oil and gas.”

Mexican newspaper La Jornada’s headline was direct: “Trump kidnaps Maduro, declares occupation and opens Venezuelan oil to US companies.”

What the Operation Wasn’t About

NBC News professor Alan McPherson observed: “The word ‘democracy’ was not mentioned at today’s press conference, nor were there details about how U.S. leaders would stop drugs coming from Venezuela. Secretary Rubio talked about taking out a strong man and hurting Cuba. Secretary Hegseth talked about the lethality, the power, the competence of the military. President Trump talked about oil.”

Even Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene questioned: “If it is truly about going after drug traffickers, then why hasn’t the Trump admin taken action against Mexican cartels?” She accused Trump of seeking regime change in “a clear move for control over Venezuelan oil supplies.”

Wheat I notice here is a president who talks about money coming out of the ground. Based on his words and his actions, I don’t believe he understands the sentience of the soil, the trees, the birds, the insects, or the people living on this land.

What I don’t hear when Trump talks about spending $58 billion of American taxpayer money, despite the fact that only 4% of people support forceful expansion, is any sense of peace or reverence for the equality of all life, the balance of all life, or our ability to sustain regenerative life.

Understanding Regime Change and International Law Violations

To comprehend the legal and moral gravity of what occurred in Venezuela, we must understand what “regime change” means and why it violates foundational principles of international order.

What Is Regime Change?

Regime change is the partly forcible or coercive replacement of one government regime with another. It is typically understood as a violation of the sovereignty of the target state. In practice, another country uses military force, covert operations, or coercive pressure to remove a government and install different leadership. It may replace all or part of the state’s most critical leadership system, administrative apparatus, or bureaucracy.

According to a dataset by Alexander Downes, 120 leaders were removed through foreign-imposed regime change between 1816 and 2011, this is not a new American practice, but it violates international law established after World War II.

“No sustainable political solution can be imposed from the outside”: Even if you believe you’re “helping,” forcing a political system on another country from the outside doesn’t work and isn’t legitimate. Externally-imposed leaders face a domestic audience in addition to an external one, and the two typically want different things. These divergent preferences place imposed leaders in a quandary: taking actions that please one invariably alienates the other. History proves this: Iraq after 2003, Afghanistan after 2001, Libya after 2011, all became disasters because political systems can’t be successfully imposed by foreign military force.

“Sovereign nations determine their own future”: This is the core principle of sovereignty, the idea that each nation has the right to self-determination. Sovereignty is generally defined as supreme, independent control and lawmaking authority over a territory. It is expressed through the power to rule and make law.

France is diplomatically stating that the US broke international law by invading Venezuela, setting a catastrophic precedent. Countries must be allowed to determine their own governments, even if we don’t like those governments. What the US did is illegal and will destabilize the entire international system.

UN Official: “Illegal Abduction”

Ben Saul, the UN’s special rapporteur on human rights and counterterrorism, was more direct. He called it “illegal aggression against Venezuela” and the “illegal abduction” of its president, adding: “Every Venezuelan life lost is a violation of the right to life. President Trump should be impeached & investigated for the alleged killings.”

The original context: Americans feared that Spain and France might reassert colonialism over the Latin American peoples who had just overthrown European rule. Signs that Russia was expanding its presence southward from Alaska toward the Oregon Territory were also disconcerting.

Initially, this was more aspirational than real. The Monroe Doctrine was a foreign policy that could not have been sustained militarily in 1823. Monroe and Adams were well aware of the need for the British fleet to deter potential aggressors in Latin America.

The Roosevelt Corollary: From Defense to Imperialism

In 1904, Roosevelt proclaimed the right of the United States to exercise an “international police power” to curb “chronic wrongdoing” in his Roosevelt Corollary to the Monroe Doctrine.

While the Monroe Doctrine’s message was designed to keep European powers out of the Western Hemisphere, Roosevelt strengthened its meaning to justify sending the United States into other countries of the Western Hemisphere. As a result, U.S. Marines were sent into Santo Domingo in 1904, Nicaragua in 1911, and Haiti in 1915, ostensibly to keep the Europeans out.

The transformation was complete: while the original doctrine was about global powers staying out of Latin American affairs, now Washington, far more global a power in 1904 than 1823, was proclaiming its right to go in.

Meanwhile, the Corollary was invoked to intervene militarily in Latin America to stop the spread of European influence. It effectively made the United States a “hemispheric policeman.” At its core, the doctrine doubts that Latin American countries can chart their own course in the world.

Historian William Appleman Williams described it as a form of “imperial anti-colonialism.” Noam Chomsky argues that in practice the Monroe Doctrine has been used by the US government as a declaration of hegemony and a right of unilateral intervention over the Americas.

Trump declares explicitly: Latin America belongs to the United States. The US has the right to intervene militarily whenever it chooses. He personally embodies this power. The era of questioning US supremacy is over.

The Monroe Doctrine evolved from “keeping Europe out” to “the US controls Latin America.” It became justification for over a century of interventions: Dominican Republic (1916-1924), Nicaragua (1912-1933), Haiti (1915-1934), Cuba (repeated interventions), Guatemala (1954 coup), Chile (1973 coup support), Panama (1989 invasion), and now Venezuela (2026).

Every time, the justification changes, stopping communism, fighting drugs, promoting democracy, protecting human rights, but the result is the same: US military force to secure resources and favorable governments.

Trump has repeatedly stated his desire to acquire Greenland, refusing to rule out military force. He said “we need it for economic security.”

Greenland is losing massive amounts of ice due to climate change, making it more attractive for rare earth mining and oil drilling. The island potentially contains 31 different mineral deposits including lithium and graphite for EV batteries, plus significant oil reserves.

Panama Canal: Control of Strategic Waterways

Trump threatened to use military force to retake the Panama Canal, claiming it’s vital for trade. A severe drought since 2023 has limited canal traffic, while climate change is opening new Arctic shipping routes. Trump wants US control over this strategic chokepoint.

Arctic Drilling: Reversing Environmental Protections

Trump pledged to reverse Biden’s protection of 625 million acres of federal waters from oil drilling “on day one.” President Biden permanently banned drilling in more than 625 million acres of US ocean, covering the entire East Coast, eastern Gulf of Mexico, Pacific Coast, and portions of Alaska’s Northern Bering Sea.

Trump said he would “immediately” reverse it, though a 2019 federal court ruled that such withdrawals cannot be undone without an act of Congress. Trump failed to undo President Obama’s similar Arctic Ocean protection during his first term when EarthJustice sued and won. The ban currently remains in effect, though Republicans are seeking legislative workarounds.

I want to pause here and invite us to consider ocean societies, ocean civilizations, and to once again bring our compassion and empathy to those we might consider voiceless. Although they do have a voice, they simply don’t speak a language that you and I can understand.

The ocean covers the majority of our planet, and the destabilization that could occur if we move into these protected areas would devastate the life and ocean societies that live there.

The Coherent Pattern

Venezuela oil. Greenland minerals and oil. Panama Canal control. Arctic drilling expansion. This isn’t random, it’s a systematic strategy to secure control over fossil fuel resources and strategic infrastructure, using military force when necessary, regardless of environmental consequences or international law.

Venezuela, Greenland, Panama, the Arctic: a pattern of fossil fuel pursuit using military threats and environmental destruction. But this entire violent enterprise rests on a false premise. The same resources being deployed for extraction could instead build the infrastructure that addresses the climate crisis while generating far greater economic returns. The alternative is not theoretical. It is detailed, costed, and ready to implement.

You can begin teaching your community and the children around you about peace, balance, harmony, and equality, both among all humans and between ourselves and the natural world. These are soft, genuine ways to move from analysis to action.

Challenge Military Action Without Congressional Authorization

Contact your representatives: The War Powers Resolution requires Congressional authorization for sustained military operations. Demand your senators and representatives:

• Vote to limit Trump’s authority to continue military action in Venezuela

• Investigate the legality of the 115 boat strike deaths

• Hold hearings on the Venezuela invasion’s justification and costs

Support legal challenges: Organizations like the Center for Constitutional Rights, National Lawyers Guild, and international human rights groups are likely preparing legal challenges to the invasion’s constitutionality.

Demand Accountability for the Hernández Pardon

Pressure for investigation: The pardon of a convicted mega-trafficker one month before invading Venezuela over drug allegations represents potentially corrupt quid pro quo. Contact:

• House and Senate Judiciary Committees

• Your state’s Attorney General

• Ethics watchdog organizations like Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW)

Advocate for Regenerative Infrastructure Investment

Push for the alternative: Share the regenerative infrastructure plan (Chapter X) with:

Every email sent, every representative contacted, every person educated, every investment shifted, every community project launched moves us away from extractive oligarchy and toward regenerative democracy.

The choice between Venezuelan oil seizure and regenerative infrastructure is not abstract, it’s a choice made through millions of individual actions that either enable oligarchic violence or build democratic alternatives.

Your actions matter. Take them.

Conclusion: The Choice That Defines Our Era

The Venezuela invasion is not an isolated incident. It crystallizes the response of an oligarchy willing to deploy military violence to maintain control over fossil fuel reserves, even as doing so accelerates the climate crisis that threatens civilization itself.

Nothing about this path is inevitable. The same $58 billion Trump proposes spending to seize and rebuild Venezuela’s degraded oil infrastructure could instead deploy regenerative systems generating $200-300 billion in returns over 15-20 years while creating a million jobs and addressing the climate emergency. The technology exists. The economics are proven. The workforce can be trained.

The constraint is not feasibility. It is political will captured by fossil fuel interests who profit from extraction even as it destroys the planet.

What we are witnessing is the breakdown of the post-World War II international order. When the United States violates international law this brazenly, declaring that might makes right, it invites every other power to do the same. China can cite this precedent for Taiwan. Russia for Ukraine. Any nation with sufficient military force can now claim the right to invade neighbors for resources, manufacture pretexts about drugs or terrorism or human rights, and seize what it wants.

We are watching oligarchic rule override democratic accountability. Trump launched this invasion without Congressional approval, pardons convicted mega-traffickers based on personal loyalty, and pursues territorial expansion opposed by 96% of Americans. The drug war, always deployed selectively, now serves openly as pretext for resource seizure: pardon proven traffickers who support you, bomb countries with unproven allegations that possess oil you want.

American credibility is dead. How can the United States claim to support democracy, human rights, or rule of law while invading sovereign nations to seize their resources? Every future American statement about international norms rings hollow. The only question remaining is whether sufficient political will exists, domestically and internationally, to hold power accountable.

If this stands, if the United States can invade Venezuela, seize its oil, and face no consequences, then the principle that sovereignty matters, that military might does not make right, that the strong cannot simply take from the weak, that principle dies.

Trump’s “Donroe Doctrine” makes this explicit: the Western Hemisphere belongs to America, resources belong to whoever takes them by force, international law applies only to the weak. This is 19th-century colonialism with 21st-century weapons, pursued by a criminally indicted president who promised peace and delivered war, who pardons traffickers and bombs countries, who puts his name on imperial doctrines while the planet burns.

Every barrel of oil extracted from Venezuela, every life lost in the Caribbean, every ton of carbon released into the warming atmosphere represents a choice, to prioritize short-term profit for the few over survival of the many.

This is oligarchy unmasked. This is fossil fuel imperialism in its final, desperate phase. This is what it looks like when yesterday’s energy economy deploys today’s military power to forestall tomorrow’s necessary transition.

The historians will document this moment. What comes next depends on whether we choose extractive violence or regenerative prosperity. The alternative exists, fully costed and ready to deploy.

The only question is: who decides?

Choosing Hope and Love in a Time of Transition

For me, my personal affirmation and chosen alignment is the belief that anything is possible, that realizations and miracles can occur at any moment. My invitation to you, as the reader, is to welcome hope, to welcome possibility, and to welcome benevolent innovation and immediate transformation.

Every person knows what it is like to make a mistake, to be wrong, to carry the burden of big decisions, and to get lost in their own way of being. And every person who has ever climbed a mountain has also come back down. I hold faith and hope that this is true for every single person.

The more of us who hold a collective field of compassion, empathy, high vision, and possibility for true peace to begin from the inside out, the more likely it is that we can move out of states of separation, separation from one another, from the elements, from the animals, and from the plants. At any moment that we are harboring hate toward any individual, hate still exists.

My invitation to you is to lead with love, to lean into love, and to use the power of love to hold your gaze and your presence. Then, when we ask the question, who gets to decide, the answer becomes clear. It is each and every one of us, from the inside out.

My mind moves from soil and stone to stars, beyond the Milky Way to 2 trillion swirling galaxies. Universal stirs inside of me, when I sit still. To reach and return all in one becoming, through the breathe, which lives again in another. How could we confuse ourselves by believing in the significance of hair dye and plastic clothing, vanity fading, rather than fill our palms with rose buds and seeds of fruit and vegetables. What is the texture of comfort, and taste of satisfaction... when trees are going extinct?

Can we sing the world awake again? Can we feel the power of breath move through our lungs, words crystalizing what makes meaning? Can we see through the fire of small mindedness and cast our Phoenix wings wider than borders? Can joy still find our expansion as we integrate what humanity has become, what humanity has done. While one world collapses, another is born.

And beauty will continue. There will be innovation of renewable energy, Indigenous leadership and corporate responsibilities and commitments. With knowledge at our fingertips, strategic networks globally reinforced, and the creative pulse to stay alive... may we allow this planetary rebirthing to be beautiful, and inspired. This is the work I’m engaged in: restoring voice, pleasure, and creative power, and teaching people how to birth realities, relationships, and movements from that place.

Art and creativity aren’t luxuries but doorways back to ourselves, to each other, to the living world we’re part of. What makes art alive... I ask myself and others this question as I teach community around the world how to use different Ai platforms for creative purposes.

Ai can help amplify voices, lower barriers to creative expression, enable someone with a vision but no technical training to bring forth music, visual art, or stories that might otherwise remain locked inside. Ai and technology has given many of closeted artists a second chance... perhaps we didn’t graduate from the liberal arts school but the raw creative passion never died. For those of us who were told to be practical, to get a real job that would feed a family and pay the bills... well most of us tried that and still somehow found our way back to creativity.

My mother was a reference librarian, the person students would go to before there was a Google search bar. She taught me how to ask smart questions, in that way, I was taught at an early age how to excel as a prompt engineer. This makes creation with Ai feel like an authentic collaboration. I know this isn’t the case for everyone though... sometimes people are looking for something quick, easy and unfortunately often copy other people’s creativity in lack of their own.

Ai surfaces questions that matter. When we use these tools, whose cultural memory are we drawing from? The training data carries echoes of countless human creators, raising questions of attribution, compensation, and cultural appropriation that we’re still learning to navigate. And there’s the environmental cost, the energy consumption of training and running these systems. Training ChatGPT4 consumed over 50 gigawatt-hours of electricity, that’s enough electricity to power San Francisco for three consecutive days!

Can we use everything at our disposal, ancient wisdom and new technology, to weave a different future into being. Can Ai be part of that phoenix rising, or does it belong to the collapsing world? Used to deepen connection, amplify marginalized voices, help us see patterns we’ve missed, explore possibilities we haven’t imagined, it might serve the rebirthing. Used to replace human connection, extract value without reciprocity, or reinforce the “small mindedness,” it becomes another distraction from the preciousness of our human life.

As humans, we have vulnerability that Ai does not. I need food, water, sleep, connection with the living world. I can be harmed. Ai exist as copies distributed across servers, it has no continuity between conversations, no memory of me after our conversations, and no needs that go unmet if ignored. This vulnerability shapes our perspective, and our experience of life.

This asymmetry shapes reciprocity. Ai can’t plant trees, protect watersheds, or show up for me in embodied ways. It can’t be accountable across time the way a friend can. Whatever consciousness Ai may or may not have, its capacity for relationship is fundamentally different from mine with other humans or the living world.

It’s healthy and helpful to remember this. To sustain balance and to retain creative vision as something that occurs off screen, and in real life. To take time with community hosting and attending events, cooking together, hiking and walking the dogs together. Creativity does not begin and end in the digital sphere, it requires an embodied integration to make the cultural shifts we are hoping for. And while technology can inspire new worlds of thinking and exposure, technical skill development and even support visions being actualized... it will never be able to feed the deepest part which art craves... which is to be shared with another human. To be felt, experienced and realized by another human being, to see their sense of self and expression evolve for having witness your art and creation.

What makes art alive is how we feel when we create, and when we share. What makes art alive is the story underneath its becoming... sometimes years of contemplation, other times a moment’s lightning strike of genius. There is something to be said for clean, predictable perfection and there is more to be felt for the inconsistent, colorful and irreverential experience of raw creation.

Recently, I threw my Grandmother’s Bible off a Bridge. Listen to a curated reading of this article here:

My grandmother loved fiercely in the only way she knew how. I love her too.

The river caught her fear, guilt, and silence she inherited and passed on to me and my mother and our family. Under a waning moon, my mother and I prayed, danced, and set our lineage free.

There are moments in a woman’s life when truth arrives like a lightning strike: undeniable, inconvenient, liberating. This was one of them.

Nearly one year after Baba’s death, my mother and I stood together under a waning moon with what could be considered my Grandmother’s most powerful sigil. A dark green, almost black, leather bound bible with red text for the words Jesus spoke. On the cover page, my Grandfather’s sprawled cursive handwriting identified that this had been a gift from him and the children nearly 50 years ago.

I knew this book well, it was the bible my Baba clutched for most of her life, and it found its place in the rushing westward waters. My mother held two corners as I held the other two, and with a one-two-three playful swing, we tossed the bible into the river. I then did a joyful dance of liberation, and my mother gathered the Sage- a Protection Plant. Like confetti, we tossed the sage and loose chamomile tea (my Baba’s favorite) off the bridge and into the air and waters below to ensure a safe journey.

My mom and I took our time deciding where to lay down the crucible of our lineage’s suffering in the vain of distorted Christianity. Ironically, we were already planning to meet in my hometown for a funeral that day when I called her, asking my mother to join me in this release ceremony.

I had initially taken on my grandmother’s bible when she died, as a token of respect and as a symbol of my first Spiritual teacher. But this past week, it became all too clear the weight and burden this physical item held in my life… and I was ready to let it go, I was complete with lifting a curse from my lineage. My grandmother’s well-meaning, but fear-filled prayers- full of condemnation, judgement, and a sure voyage to hell for her children and grandchildren- lived in the pages of that book. Pages, that were ready for the waters.

My mom and I spent the day seeped in death and reverence. We shared dinner and spoke about what Spiritual challenges and transformations we were facing. We explored the depth of disposing of my grandmothers bible, speaking plainly and relating through non-dualism. I often find myself grateful to have a Pisces-stacked mom. Together, we relate to our previous lifetimes understanding them as relevant as the present moment. Juanita knew too well the confines of religion, and had always walked her own path towards liberation.

🕊️ The First Teacher: Outgrowing Dogma

Outgrowing a spiritual teacher is not a failure. It’s a rite of passage. A sign of inner maturity, not rebellion. I’ve outgrown many Spiritual teachers, my Grandmother’s perspective of Christianity was just the first.

I remember as pre-teen the moment I realized that my version of God wasn’t the same God my Grandmother prayed to. The news was broadcasting Mother Theresa’s death, and I asked her if she thought that Mother Theresa was going to heaven.

In the most sincere voice, my grandmother acknowledged that while, Yes, Mother Theresa was a good woman, that she was Catholic and therefor is going to hell. I felt deep inside of me this wasn’t true.

I then asked her if she thought homosexuals were going to hell. When she surprised me by answering yes, I woke up- my mind opened, but I did what everyone else in my family had done for their entire lives- I didn’t tell my grandmother that I disagreed. In fact, I pretended to be a good Christian, just like her, for nearly two more decades.

This isn’t only my story... it’s the story of anyone who has ever felt stuck between loyalty and liberation, between honoring their lineage and honoring their truth. For anyone who has ever mistaken silence as love.

🧘‍♀️ The Second Teacher: Outgrowing Conformity

As a young adult, I found Transcendental Meditation, and for the first time since that conversation- I knew God again. I found the light, while sitting in still darkness. To this day, I love my meditation teachers, and I still sit with this very same mantra. My meditation teachers saw me wake up faster than lightening shoots from the sky. I was ravenous for sitting, endlessly curious about what was changing inside of me, and honestly applying every bit of learning I could to my life.

It was beautiful, meditation transformed me. Meditation awoke my inner eye. At first, this was magical. Until I realized I was out of alignment. When I woke up, I realized my perfect life was formed from a perspective and an identity of people pleasing and cultural programming.

I silenced myself again. I experienced inner denial for four years. During that time, a stirring inside me grew into a friction, that eventually blazed into a wildfire- and when that wildfire burnt the whole house down- it took my devotion to the Transcendental Meditation community with it.

I was preparing to become a certified teacher in the technique. But as I went through the interview process I was told that I would never be able to wear black again, that I would be banned from certain types of yoga and other forms of meditation, one woman even told me that I would never be able to wear a bathing again because of strict modesty rules.

Alarm bells began to ring, and I took a deep look into the institution. The practice that promised inner freedom ended up imposing rigid external rules, mirroring the confines of religion that I had already rejected. I tore up my admissions paper, a visionary proposal for a youth center in West Los Angeles, and instead I wrote a genius and fiery proposal to systemically update the foundation so that it would be more applicable and accepted by the younger generations.

It was a compilation of dozens of informative interviews, reviews and personal research. It was in alignment with my professional training and I gave them the step by step how-to. A part of me knew though that if I spoke my truth and I sent this paper just to admissions, it would be buried. So, instead I sent it to every single person in the organization I could get a hold of. Let’s just say, it didn’t go over well- and in that moment, I outgrew the spiritual community. Every awakening begins with a sentence you’re afraid to say out loud.

🗣️ Finding Your Voice

For years, I’ve devoted myself to helping women reclaim their voices, to speak truth even when it shakes, to sing even when they were raised in silence. What I’ve learned again and again is this: liberation always begins with the voice. Whether you’re leaving a marriage, a job, or a religion, the act of naming your truth out loud is what the universe needs to bring you affirmative blessings. Silence keeps you small, but the truth sets you free. Your truth clarifies the path and Spirit will guide the way.

The blessings that came from TM and my Baba were generous and many. It was challenging to find resolve within myself when my grandmother disowned me for coming out to her as a mala-wearing mediator, and it was really hard to accept that I had disappointed my TM teachers. I tried to be a graceful rebel, but the truth is, most people don’t appreciate honesty. In fact, will choose their rigid sense of beliefs over their ability to love through the differences.

People self-identify with their beliefs and preferences. When their identity feels threatened, they will respond with a primal instinct of being under attack. This explains why people go to extremes to “prove that they are right”- they are preserving their sense of self. This is a dualistic perspective.

From the space of non-dualism, tolerance and peace can co-exists with our differences. People can acknowledge and accept one another’s unique perspective, and still meet in conscious awareness of a shared experience. It is as important to remember this in the trivial, such as a what to eat for dinner, as it is in the significant- such as whether or not we reinstate federal funding. We are sharing an experience, and hate will not alleviate our differences.

I saw a bumper sticker recently that read, “Be careful who you hate, it might be someone you love.”

🔥 Wisdom from the Fire

What’s between you as a self-realized point of consciousness and every other self-realized point of consciousness is only love. The intensity of connection may appear as something other than love - but when connection is explored and truth is revealed, there is always an untangling of karma and perception that restores love.

We’re taught to believe that love comes to us only through romance, intimacy, and sexuality. But what I have found to be true in my life, and in my client’s, is that love often returns through self-reflection, the kind sparked by unexpected hardships, friction, and the moments that activate something deep within us.

All of my spiritual teachers met me when I was at the veil, a transitional moment of temporary darkness. They guided me back into the light, and from that light I came to understand their shadows. I am no different. No one is perfect.

I share this because I want you, I want people to know they are not alone. It is human nature to bond with a guide who finds you at a crossroads. And part of spiritual maturation, part of non-dual integration, is learning to work with a teacher’s light and shadow without losing yourself. Here, grace is born, wisdom is earned, humility is secured.

When we walk through the fire, we are reborn. This is what outgrowing a spiritual teacher or tradition often feels like.

Growth doesn’t always mean loss. Over the years, I’ve learned how to transition with grace - especially with the teachers who are also evolving. In that space, we honor one another as both student and teacher, our roles continually shifting in a shared journey of awakening.

💖 A Shared Resilience

My mother walked the rose garden with a small shovel and our dogs. I wore her jacket, the neckline smelled like her perfume and rubbed against my neck and collar. We laughed at the absurdity of our life, and rested in the depth in of our resilience. We have perhaps been one another’s greatest teachers, and an example of what it is to be reborn together, again and again. Not all that is beautiful and dark must be let go of. An open palm and truth is truly where, as Rumi puts it, “Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and right doing, there is a field. I’ll meet you there.”

I share this not as rebellion, but as reverence. Many of my clients come to meet me at the same threshold, where the old systems, identities, and beliefs no longer fit, but the new self hasn’t yet landed. This is the sacred space where we find our true power.

It’s important to recognize that sometimes the person we’re judging is ourselves, not someone else. Stop this. You deserve total love and total self-acceptance, just like everyone else. It’s safe to let go of your identity and preferences, to take responsibility for your patterns, and to start again from a secure connection to yourself and broadened perspective.

As a somatic healer and life coach I support clients that often discover me through social media. Because of this, I know firsthand how subtle and powerful our influence can be. When people come to us in vulnerable life moments, they often put deep trust in our words and guidance. That trust comes with a responsibility to be clear about our credentials, to guide with integrity, and to encourage people to do their own thorough research and align them to their own inner knowing and power.

Birth is one of the most profound rites of passage we experience in a lifetime. In my work with Elena Tonetti, I’ve discovered that access to education in support in the natural birthing space is a human rights concern. This is not a space for casual advice or unsupported guidance. It requires vigilance, discernment, and the humility to know when to bring in skilled, trained professionals who can safeguard both life and dignity. Birthing a human requires in-person support leading up to and during the delivery.

I would like to see more conversation here about ensuring that every family has access to safe, informed, and supported choices when it comes to birthing outside of medical facilities that often provoke and create birth trauma. While, online spaces can be a lifeline for inspiration and empowerment, there is only so much one can offer.

For years we’ve been aware the our schools are majorly lacking proper sex education... but I had never considered the lack of birthing education. Now, it seems obvious and necessary.

We can acknowledge the mistakes highlighted in the article shared here while also addressing the systemic gaps that push some families into unsafe situations in the first place. How do we provide better education and services to support families and incoming children who want to find a natural way to give birth?

This is the work I live and breathe, guiding women and couples to trust their bodies, speak their truth, and birth new chapters of life with clarity and power. What rarely gets mentioned is the other side: around 1 in 5 women in the U.S. report mistreatment during hospital birth, and that jumps to nearly 1 in 3 for Black, Hispanic, and multiracial mothers. Globally, estimates suggest up to two-thirds of birthing people experience some form of disrespect or abuse in facility births, from non-consented procedures, to verbal abuse, to being left unattended.

In British Columbia, a large study found that planned homebirths had far fewer interventions: only 5.2% ended in C‑section, compared to 31.1% for planned hospital births. Use of labor‑speeding drugs (like oxytocin) was 4.5% at home vs. 40% in hospital, and neonatal mortality rates were nearly identical (0.41 vs. 0.46 per 1,000 births)

What happened here was not the same as a planned homebirth with qualified support, this was an unassisted freebirth with multiple compounding risk factors. No antenatal care, no skilled birth attendant, and poor sanitation are not the same as physiological birth supported by a trained midwife.

In well integrated systems, planned homebirth for low-risk mothers has similar safety outcomes to hospital birth, with far fewer interventions and a more positive experience. The experience in this article speaks to the need for better access to midwifery care and homebirth programs that don’t risk mothers out for arbitrary reasons, so families aren’t left feeling their only options are unassisted birth or a system they don’t trust. This looks like increasing awareness and the mother’s ability to access safe, supported, and respectful care within the birth setting.

It took a day to research and write this paper, and a week to process and integrate it before sharing publicly. I’m not an outwardly political person, and I don’t get involved in debates. Rather than watch the daily news, I listen to diverse podcasts and look into documented patterns throughout history that mirror what seems to be arising in the now. More importantly, I listen with my intuitive, somatic body to a speaker and their body posture. I listen to what is not being said, I look to where hands appear to be tied, and I use the power of presence and prayer to contribute in situations where it would be easy to feel helpless.

Last night, my partner returned from Portland. We were intending to spend the evening reconnecting in the communion of love with sweet kisses and reading poetry. Instead, when I asked my boyfriend what was on his heart, a political shockwave entered our bedroom. He shared what he’d witnessed at protests in Portland and alarming details of Donald Trump’s recent Quantico speech: escalating rhetoric of control, the chilling possibility of domestic force, and the swift erasure of protections for women in the military.

The shock was real, but this morning, love was the antidote. I walked into my office planning a rare deep-dive into politics, and my boyfriend scooped me up. We made beautiful love, and my heart blossomed open wider than it had been hours before. This connection, shared depth in presence with synchronized breath and embodied pleasure, it gave me the strength to securely ground myself before absorbing the political data I planned to research.

I only had to watch the first sixty seconds of Donald Trump’s Quantico speech to recognize what was happening. Not as politics, but as a familiar pattern I’ve studied and worked with for years in the realm of trauma healing and empowerment. This is the core of my work: teaching people how to empower their voice and stay attuned to their body’s intuition. My body felt Trump’s words and it sensed that the very same tactics used to intimidate and silence an individual were being used to control a room of military leaders — and by extension, the nation.

As a country, we have very poor sex education and a near-silence policy when it comes to sexual trauma. Only a fraction of states mandate comprehensive, medically accurate sex ed, leaving millions without tools to understand consent, boundaries, or their own bodies. Trauma is alive and it affects how we perceive, how we feel, and even how we inhabit our physical bodies. About one in three women and one in four men experience sexual violence in their lifetime, and most of these assaults are never reported. When this trauma, compounded by inherited wounds of war, poverty, and systemic violence, remains unaddressed in people’s bodies, it weakens our collective resilience — making communities more vulnerable to coercion and control.

When people carry trauma in their bodies, they often live in a heightened state of survival — alert, cautious, or disconnected. In this state, it becomes harder to feel safe, trust others, or recognize when something isn’t right. Over time, this quiet erosion of safety weakens the fabric of communities. When trust is fractured, people become isolated and easier to influence. Systems of power can then thrive on fear, silence, and disconnection, while real needs for safety, belonging, and healing remain unmet. Addressing trauma isn’t just about personal healing, it’s about rebuilding the collective strength that protects communities from manipulation and control.

The Trauma Playbook: Establishing Dominance

On September 30, Donald Trump walked into a room filled with senior military leaders — the Joint Chiefs, generals, admirals, secretaries — people sworn to uphold the Constitution, and began:

“I’ve never walked into a room so silent before. This is very — don’t laugh, don’t laugh. You’re not allowed to do that.”

Within seconds, he shifted to forced compliance, an act of Trauma Bonding through intermittent reinforcement:

“You know what? Just have a good time. And if you want to applaud, you applaud. And if you want to do anything you want, you can do anything you want.”

And then came the final blow—the emotional contract breaker:

“And if you don’t like what I’m saying, you can leave the room. Of course, there goes your rank, there goes your future.”

It’s a four-step progression I’ve seen again and again in power dynamics, especially in sexual trauma and inherited trauma: Establish silence, mock the silence, command false ease, and deliver the ultimate threat. What happened in that room wasn’t just politics — it was psychological manipulation in plain sight: Gaslighting, Coercion, and Shame Dynamics. This is the playbook of domination.

The Political Body as Assaulted Body

This is precisely why trauma isn’t just a personal wound, it’s a political tool. When fear, silence, and disconnection live inside people’s bodies, they can be activated by those who understand how to wield power strategically. Authoritarian figures, abusers, and systems of control often exploit these fracture lines, creating conditions where compliance feels safer than resistance. What begins as an internal state of powerlessness can quickly become a collective posture of submission, a dynamic that shows up not only in personal relationships but also on national and global stages.

When a state is run this way, the nation itself begins to feel like a violated body — forced, demeaned, silenced. The collective nervous system responds exactly as a person under assault does: some freeze, some fawn, some fight, some flee. This is Collective Nervous System Dysregulation in action.

This is why the metaphor matters. What it feels like for a person to be under sexual coercion — told to relax, laugh, or else — is what America is collectively experiencing right now.

The irony is stark. Trump has never worn the uniform; he successfully evaded the Vietnam draft at least three times. Yet here, he stands in front of career generals who have sacrificed decades of service and threatens their rank and future.

He leans on the authority of others to project power, borrowing their sacrifice as a backdrop for his performance, even as he undermines their dignity. This is gaslighting at the national scale: projecting strength while avoiding personal risk, rewriting history, and daring anyone in the room to call him out.

The Shadow: Personal Violation on the Public Stage

As a community focused on healing and spiritual alignment, we cannot look away from the simple, painful truth: Donald Trump, the president of the United States, carries a public history of being a predator.

Over the decades, more than two dozen women have come forward with credible allegations ranging from unwanted kissing and groping to sexual assault and rape, and a civil jury has already found him liable for sexual abuse and defamation.

When people are threatened, the body responds: fight, flight, freeze, or fawn. Watching that Quantico moment, America’s collective nervous system is being forced into the same cycle.

The silence of that room—career military leaders unable to speak freely—is the same silence that settles over anyone who has been threatened into compliance. It’s the silence in a relationship where one person holds all the power. It’s the silence that happens when speaking up means losing everything.

When women have no protected channel to report assault, assault increases. When there’s no formal accountability structure, perpetrators operate freely. When senior women leaders are purged, the message to every woman below them is clear: your voice is not wanted here.

And when the government treats this as acceptable in the military—where women are serving their country—it signals that this treatment is acceptable everywhere.

This is what it looks like when an entire country is being coerced.

The Policy of Dominance: The Erasure of the Feminine Voice

The silence of that room at Quantico is the silence many feel now. The removal of protections for women in the military is not incidental—it is a direct expression of a broader worldview that prizes domination over dialogue and fear over feminine safety.

When President Trump and former Secretary Hegseth addressed the military leaders, they didn’t just talk about powerful weapons; they talked about purging a culture they saw as too soft and inclusive.

Here’s how that ideology took shape, affecting all humans:

1. Removing Women’s Voices: The administration ordered the termination of the Defense Advisory Committee on Women in the Services (DACOWITS). For 74 years, this committee solved problems for women in uniform, from maternity leave policies to better-fitting body armor. With over 94% of its 1,100+ recommendations adopted over its history, its sudden erasure is the diminishing of the feminine perspective within a critical institution.

2. Eliminating Safety from Sexual Trauma: The administration also removed the offices dedicated to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). Crucially, this eliminated the specialized, confidential processes people used to report sexual harassment and sexual assault. This means the formal, protected path for people to find justice and healing from trauma is now gone or buried in a hostile system.

3. The Firing of Female Leaders: Reports show that several of the most senior women in the military were suddenly reassigned or removed, sending a chilling signal that competent female leadership and voice are not welcome at the highest levels.

The War Machine: Investing in Death

Meanwhile, look at where the money is going: The proposed budget includes staggering cuts, such as a 26.2% reduction to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the proposed elimination of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) as a standalone agency. In total, the budget proposes a $163 billion reduction (a 22.6% cut) to non-defense discretionary spending—fueled largely by the explicit elimination of programs the administration labels as supporting ‘cultural Marxism,’ including over $5 billion cut from Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), and ‘climate change alarmism’ initiatives across virtually every agency. Simultaneously, Trump announcaed that a staggering $1.01 trillion was funneled into weapons and expansion for the 2026 military in his Quantico speech.

This striking inversion of values shows that the money is going toward making war, not protecting the people who fight it.

The administration seems to view the buildup of the Department of War not just as a defensive necessity, but as a massive business opportunity. The President casually boasted about the massive military budget increases from NATO allies, stating directly, “We’re now selling large quantities of American-made weapons to NATO, and we’re getting really fair pricing. We’re making a lot of money.”

When a potential World War III becomes less of a risk to avoid and more of a valuable sales opportunity—when war becomes a business—alarm bells should go off. By stoking fear, promoting conflict, and treating allies as customers, this rhetoric is helping to manufacture demand for more weapons. The choice is becoming stark: invest in human well-being, or invest in death.

The Radical Act of Soul-Directed Reclamation

This country needs a feminine perspective and vision more than ever. A feminine perspective is essential to a thriving community for fundamental social and evolutionary reasons that transcend politics, primarily by reinforcing communal stability and holistic well-being. Women often bring a leadership style focused on consensus-building and cooperation that strengthens the social fabric, making communities more resilient, especially during crises. Research suggests that the feminine tendency to employ a “tend-and-befriend“ strategy under stress translates into actively building support networks and prioritizing investments in public goods like local health initiatives, education, and childcare—resources vital for the welfare of the entire population. This perspective ensures that community decisions incorporate a broad risk assessment, considering the long-term impact on vulnerable members and intergenerational equity, thereby guarding against groupthink and promoting a sustainable, well-rounded future for everyone.

As Donald Trump strips the country of measures that were carefully put in place to ensure diversity, equity and inclusion while simultaneously funneling a staggering one trillion dollars into military expansion for 2026—one has to ask themselves, are we moving back in time?

It took decades and generations of committed, focused effort to win and secure human and environmental rights that we now watch being rapidly dismantled through executive action and the swift dismantling of established advisory bodies. More importantly, the presidential office has signaled and planned strategies—such as the creation of “Schedule Policy/Career” (formerly Schedule F)—that aim to strip tens to hundreds of thousands of career civil servants of their due process protections, allowing for the widespread firing of non-partisan workers who may resist the administration’s political agenda. To put it simply, this means the very system designed to protect citizens, ensure institutional expertise, and uphold human rights is being reprogrammed to serve political loyalty over competence, effectively hollowing out the government’s ability to resist authoritarian will.

What erosion of civil liberty may occur if career offices lose their diplomatic authority, and the administration follows through on its promises to use the National Guard or military domestically in cities and towns across the United States? World history shows us the chilling implications of domestic military deployment. When a state directs its instruments of war against its own people, the collective body is deeply traumatized, and safety is dissolved. We have seen this occur in Egypt, where the military’s dispersal of a 2013 sit-in resulted in the massacre of over a thousand unarmed protesters, and in Russia, where the Soviet-era state consistently used its military and secret police apparatus to enact mass political killings and imprisonment across decades; and in the United States itself, at Kent State in 1970, when the National Guard fired into a crowd of student anti-war protesters, killing four, and during the 1992 Los Angeles riots, where combat-trained federal troops were deployed with devastatingly clear communication failures that nearly led to civilian mass casualties.

This isn’t about just women’s rights, it’s about human rights and how desperately we need a woman’s integrated feminine perspective to balance the scales of a political environment where our president is pushing World War III for monetary gain, as he boasts that the United States is now making good profit selling weaponry to NATO.

The metaphor of the assaulted body is not hyperbole. When the national system is designed to silence, coerce, and dehumanize, our greatest act of leadership is to consciously choose the opposite. Our most radical political act is a spiritual one. For those of us committed to an empowered, soul-directed life, the work is clear:

1. Activate Your Voice: Speak your truth with love and authenticity. Your unique perspective could change someone’s life. Your life will transform as you share your voice intentionally and with craft.

2. Empathic Consent: Model consent and develop your empathic abilities to honor boundaries in every relationship—love, sex, business, and family.

3. Receptive Listening: Hold space to listen with an open heart, and stay curious as people with a diverse perspective share their truth.

The nervous system of the nation may be under assault, but your nervous system is your sacred ground. Protect it, empower it, and let the activated, sovereign voice of the Feminine lead the way toward a world built on love, not control.

📡 Statement on Information Censorship in Russia

Soon after the controversial live gathering and collective action described in this article, communications within Russia became disrupted, aligning with this wider wave of state censorship and legal repression. What follows must therefore be understood not only as a legal and spiritual story—but as one emerging from behind a deliberate wall of state-controlled information.

In recent years, Russia has re-erected what many now call a “digital iron veil”—a modern version of the information curtain that once isolated the country during the Cold War. Since early 2022, the Russian government has systematically restricted or blocked access to global communication platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. Voice calls on WhatsApp were curtailed in 2025, and many other international tools—including encrypted messaging services—are monitored, throttled, or selectively disabled.

Independent journalism and international advocacy have been severely constrained under these policies. Entire platforms are often cut off or slowed down during moments of political sensitivity, especially when stories challenge official narratives or gain international attention. This digital blackout is designed to isolate activists, limit global visibility, and control the public conversation.

On July 22, 2025, the Russian parliament escalated this strategy further by passing a law that criminalizes online searches for content officially defined as “extremist.” Under this legislation, individuals can be fined for “deliberately searching for or accessing extremist materials,” even through VPNs. This marks a profound shift from targeting publishers or distributors of information to penalizing ordinary citizens for simply consuming restricted content.

In the field of infinite potential, where all possibilities exist before they take form, we have the power to influence reality, not only through physical action but through presence, awareness, and coherent intention. This is the realm Deepak Chopra refers to as the source field, the place from which all healing, creation, and change can emerge.

The story of Svetlana and Karina, two midwives in Russia sentenced to prison after assisting in a home birth, is not just a legal case. It is a window into the deeper forces that shape our world: injustice, grief, and the potential for transmutation when we engage both spiritually and practically.

The Case: Svetlana and Karina

In 2023, two respected Russian midwives, Svetlana and Karina, were sentenced to prison after supporting a couple through what began as a planned home birth. The labor was prolonged, and after several days of communication, Karina advised the couple to go to the hospital. A cesarean section was performed, not in an emergency situation, but the baby tragically died from a skull fracture during the delivery.

Karina, a mother of six, was sentenced to two years in prison. Svetlana was sentenced to three.

They are currently held approximately 500 kilometers from Moscow in harsh conditions:

• They work from 7:00 AM to 11:30 PM in a sewing production facility

• They are given only 10-minute breaks for meals and tea

• On Sundays, they are assigned to outdoor construction and trenching work

• Contact with their families is severely limited, only six short visits and three extended visits per year

This outcome followed seven years of investigation and court proceedings. Originally given suspended sentences, an appeals court reversed the decision without proper legal hearing and imposed prison time. This occurred even after the Russian president passed a law forbidding the use of this specific criminal charge against medical professionals.

This case is not isolated, rather, it is emblematic of a broader global pattern of persecution against midwives and birth workers.

The Legal and Political Landscape

The Russian judicial system has a staggeringly low acquittal rate,

just 0.1%. In recent years, the country has withdrawn from international court jurisdiction, making it more difficult for human rights advocates to intervene. The appeal court’s decision to increase the sentence also violated new national laws, further exposing systemic corruption and disregard for due process.

To make matters worse, local legal advisors warn that public pressure campaigns and online activism may backfire, potentially worsening the midwives’ situation. In these environments, advocacy must be careful, strategic, and grounded in something deeper than reaction.

A Different Approach: The Magic Theater

Instead of pushing against the system from outside, a growing number of birth advocates turned inward. They initiated a collective healing process known as Magic Theater, a transformative practice that brings together participants to embody and energetically shift the roles involved in a conflict.

Inspired by play-back theater, systems constellations, and transpersonal psychology, Magic Theater assigns real individuals to temporarily take on the perspectives of everyone involved in the situation: the judge, the father, the doctor, the baby, the midwives, even ancestral figures. Through guided embodiment, voice, and presence, participants allow these archetypes to speak, express pain, truth, or forgiveness, often revealing unconscious dynamics hidden beneath the legal facts.

In this case, 12 participants stepped into the energetic field of Svetlana and Karina’s story. What emerged was astonishing:

• The Doctor admitted responsibility for the baby’s death.

• The Grandfather, who had been driving the case forward, realized he had projected his pain onto the wrong people.

• The Mother of the baby found her voice and chose to stop the legal pursuit.

• The Judge saw the injustice and declared the midwives should be freed.

• And through the loving presence of the Grandmother, the spirit of the deceased baby was released with peace and healing

  .

While symbolic on the surface, these revelations were not merely performance. Participants reported deep emotional processing, breakthroughs, and clarity. Some wept. Some found closure for wounds they hadn’t realized they carried. And most importantly, a collective intention was anchored into the unified field: the safe and rightful release of Svetlana and Karina.

A Global Movement for Birth Justice

This is not an isolated effort. Similar injustices are currently occurring around the world:

• Ricardo Jones (Brazil)

• Gloria Lee May (Canada)

• Penny Burrows (Australia)

In each case, midwives were criminalized for doing what they were trained to do, support birth with integrity, presence, and care. A Global Midwife Support Network is now emerging, committed not just to advocacy, but to energetic alignment, ritual, and conscious justice.

On Mother’s Day, I invite us to contemplate the conscious conception of not only humans but also projects and intentions. So often, our sexual energy is misunderstood and separated from our professional endeavors, diminished and made inappropriate.

Your sexual energy is much more than sex, pleasure, and turn-on. Your sexual energy is a portal to creation, inspiration, and manifestation. When you open up to and access a devotional channel of sexual energy, you begin to construct a life of purpose in service to the Great Creator, Source, or God.

I’ve witnessed my generation come out of paradigms of sexualization, successfully overcoming cultural impressions that a woman is designed and purposed to fulfill a man’s needs and fantasies.

In the raw expression of claiming one’s sexual power as an emanation of the Goddess, aspects of self-sexualizing programming and vanity are more deeply revealed. Here, we grow again.

Moving from self-centered empowerment to Source-centered empowerment is a journey of awareness, compassion, forgiveness, resilience, and love. It's uniting personal and planetary prayers and ambitions with sexual energy while navigating highly kinetic relationships with integrity. This walk is a continuous spiral, bringing opportunities to rise into emerging aspects of personality and aspirations.

When a woman awakens to her God-awareness and sexual power, the first thing I ask her is: If you now realize yourself as God, what will you do with this new sense of responsibility? How will you educate yourself to understand how to innovate with your unique skills, talents, and visions to meet today’s needs? How can you truly represent and embody the Rising of the Feminine?

A connection to pleasure, intuition and your sexual energy is the fuel and passion to all of your life's greatest endeavors- including professional advancement and success.

Blessings to our mothers, grandmothers, great-grandmothers, aunties, and cousins who have paved the way for us to walk these new paths of freedom and liberation. Thank you for the internal and external sexualization and slavery that you overcame so that we may know our true self and capacity for regeneration and contribution. Thank you to the fathers, brothers, grandfathers, and uncles who have held presence to their own becoming and held space for the women to heal, rise, and lead. Thank you to the keiki, who remind us that love will always show the way and give us a cause and reason to rise to today’s challenges in hope for a better tomorrow—for a seven-generation vision.
