The Adversary Still Serves the System

When you choose one government, militia, empire, or armed group over another because you think your side represents change, you’re helping sustain the military-industrial complex—the entity you think you’re fighting against.

The military-industrial complex sustains itself through the perception of its legitimacy through your recognition of it as relevant.

When ordinary people defend or excuse a regime or militia because it opposes an actor they hate, they legitimize that actor as the representative of a population who never consented to that actor representing them.

The world operates on a framework I call force and control. The future we’re working toward is decentralized leadership infrastructures rooted in the axiom for reasoning to be possible at all: universal human rights.

Currently, our world runs the opposite direction of reasoning. That’s why we’re heading toward inevitable collapse.

We’re managing incoherence. The opposite of reasoning.

They can’t coexist. You’re either reasoning or managing incoherence.

And if you’re not rooted in a universal human rights lens but rather choosing sides between actors within the force-and-control framework, then you’re managing incoherence and contributing to inevitable collapse and not contributing to reasoning or a future rooted in coherence.

You’re helping the military-industrial complex to create a future rooted in the illusion of coherence and decentralization while sustaining the force-and-control framework.

Population consent doesn’t matter within force and control

Within the force-and-control framework, population consent doesn’t matter.

Our institutions and systems have never invested in international mechanisms to help facilitate free and fair elections or a universal standard of governance rooted in safeguarding access to what makes us human: our ability to reason—to think freely, speak, dissent, assemble, move, question, and reach conclusions.

They’ve never invested because such mechanisms and standards rooted in population consent are incompatible with the force-and-control framework.

This framework dominates our collective perception of reality.

Within this framework, peace and stability are defined as the ability of a government or militia group to keep the population from rising.

It doesn’t matter how much force and control you exert. It only matters if it creates a narrative issue. Like if other people around the world express outrage over the treatment of a population by their recognized representative regime or militia group.

So if you’re a leader within society rooted in the axiom and leading with human rights principles, you will be sidelined, imprisoned, and not given a seat at the main table.

Because you’re after population consent and the status quo only requires you to demonstrate you can take control over the land by keeping the population from rising.

Even the adversary role serves the framework

You can do that either by cooperating with Western governments and ensuring your population doesn’t feel isolated from the world, or you can play the adversary role against Western governments.

But even the adversary role benefits the West and the military-industrial complex.

To maintain that role while being recognized as the representative of a population that has not consented to your rule, you have to keep that population down.

You have to punish people for insisting on their ability to reason, speak, dissent, organize, and have their voices heard by the world.

And without the consent of your own population, you can never gain enough collective power or leverage to pose a real threat to the West.

But you can remain enough of a threat to serve as the adversary narrative used to justify the military-industrial complex’s continued existence.

That is the contradiction.

The actor presented as the enemy of the system can still serve the system by providing the enemy the system needs.

And ordinary people help sustain that relationship when we continue choosing which force-and-control actor to recognize, defend, excuse, or treat as the legitimate representative of a population.

The alternative is not choosing the “right” actor within force and control.

It is replacing the framework itself.

A future rooted in universal human rights, population consent, decentralized leadership, and reasoning rather than the management of incoherence.
