I have been a little quiet on here and my other socials for the past ten days. If you follow me you know I rarely, if ever at all, get vulnerable online, but I feel this community is safe and real compared to the world of TikTok. So when I sat down to write this week’s piece, it felt strange to just jump into the usual life updates without being honest about where I have actually been.

The last 10 days have been hard. They have also been beautiful because I was home in Greece, the place I love most in the world, surrounded by my entire family. But underneath all of that beauty, they have been heavy too.

Ahhh I am so excited to share this !! We are a few days late on this week’s post as admittedly all the traveling got to me a little. You guys have sent me SO many questions about the wedding, and I’m working on a YouTube going live later this week answering the bigger, more emotional ones.

However, Substack is the perfect place to get into my actual wedding file. Manifesting the Right Things

Currently writing this with my feet buried in the hot sand, an Aperol Spritz in hand, from a beach in Mykonos. Definitely — peak flow state. I flew out from Texas last Wednesday and made it to Ios where I stayed on a friend’s boat for a wedding.

I always loved weddings, but after having my own, I experience them differently. The #1 thing that touched me the most was how my friends showed up for me. They made every moment leading up to the wedding special, they danced with me until 8 in the morning, they hyped me up all weekend, and brought infectious energy that made my wedding feel like magic. So Jake and I have made a little pact that we’ll do the same for every couple in our lives. No leaving early, no standing around, no “we’re tired.” We show up and and bring the heat because that is what counts.

I wish I had a long list of island recommendations to share, but honestly we barely left the wedding bubble. We did spend one amazing day in Antiparos before I made my way to Mykonos to spend a few days with my dad. Fun fact for those of you who are new here: I grew up spending every summer in Mykonos. We had a house here for 18 years, my parents got married here, and as a kid I would spend three months on the island every single year.

It has changed so much over the years, but it will always feel like home to me. Nostalgia follows me everywhere. Every corner and every street here carries a memory. The beaches where we spent entire days at as children, the streets where my friends and I wandered as teenagers, first crushes, first drinks, the family owned restaurants that still greet us with a hug. All of those beautiful and formative summers somehow feel like they happened just yesterday. The more I grow up, the more I can’t digest how quickly time passes.

The last few days have been simple: family dinners, afternoons at the beach, Greek food, catching up with my dad and brother, and doing my best to come home with a respectable tan. Tomorrow we’re heading to Italy for our annual week-long boat trip with the same group of friends. I genuinely can’t believe how quickly this summer is disappearing. Tonight is the Buck Full Moon, named for the time of year when a buck’s antlers are in their full stage of growth. One thing about me is that I have ALWAYS loved full moons.
