These past few weeks, our little one on the way has had a similar effect in my life.

At five months pregnant, amidst the whirling fanfare of preparations (decorating a nursery, renovating a kitchen, & the beckoning pings of the studio) this baby now also has me tethered — to a heating pad — nursing a pregnancy related back injury. But more on that towards the end.

It has been nearly half a year since our last correspondence and the irony is not lost on me that the very thing that has kept me from writing (hello pregnancy!) is now the very thing that has forcibly, yet comfortably, sat me down to type.

So let’s make the most of our time together amidst a mountain of support pillows & have ourselves a proper catch up. Shall we?

Welcoming Baby Indy!

First things first, we absolutely must begin with news that has had us beside ourselves with joy ever since the second line appeared this past April. Our little answered prayer will be officially joining the family just before the holidays and the last several months have been dappled with overlapping moments of wonder, amusement, and tangible God winks. Here’s the short list —

Sharing the news — a little newsletter blurb could never capture the breadth of delight we experienced when sharing the news with family & friends. So rather than attempting to find the right words, enjoy this peak into those precious moments!

Sunrise walks — the only salve to my morning nausea was being up before the birds and going for long, moseying walks. Two of my favorite places in those early days were the loop around Chastain Park and the nature trail along the Chattahoochee (pictured below). I reminisce on these mornings fondly, now more than ever, and am hopeful to be back on the path again soon to enjoy the changing foliage in the coming months.

Babymoon on the Bluff — a trip we already had on the books was fashioned into an impromptu babymoon at The Montage in Palmetto Bluff just a few weeks after finding out we were expecting.

Typically, these types of trips are saved for later in the pregnancy, but I must say, I loved getting to press pause with Jake and savor our little secret together before the to-do lists started stacking up.

The top notes included biking around the property, freshly baked cookies at 3PM, turn down service with a fire roaring at the foot of the bed, devouring every page of Lonesome Dove when the rain came, and everything on the menu at FARM.

As an added bonus, a photographer local to Savannah, Gracie Ryle, was able to meet us on property to snap a few photos for our baby announcement! If you are on the fence about taking time to yourself before baby, this is your sign to book book book!

First kicks — In the months of imagining when and where I would first feel my baby, the lounge at the Dewberry Hotel in Charleston never once crossed my mind. As I enjoyed a mocktail with friends after a pop-up, hand on belly, I felt a firm and distinct kick press into my fingertips. Cue tears.

Charleston holds a lot of milestones for Jake and me, and while I enjoyed this tender moment amongst dear friends, I am so pleased to add this memory to the list!

Making Away Feel Like Home

My family took one of the coziest trips to The Cape this summer and I took a few notes home in my carry on to ensure your next holiday away can feel more like home too!

(1) Setting The Table

Breaking bread together is the most innate way to get cozy when on the road. Imagine my amusement when I realized that both mom and me packed not only placemats but also a few tablecloths to ensure that our time at the table felt intentional. Apple — meet tree! Ha!

(2) Feng Shui Away!

When my PopPop checked into his room with a topsy turvy layout, it only took a few minutes and a touch of scooching to enhance the feng shui (ex: bed facing the window, reading lamp near the headboard, and swapping out a chair to rest his bag on). Subliminally, we all appreciate a room with good flow, so by all means — feng shui away! Just be sure to take a photo of the room beforehand so you can put everything back as you found it!

(3) Kiddo Check List

A fun way to ensure your kiddos-in-tow feel at ease in their new space is by creating a little check list for them to enjoy! We did this for my nephew and niece to not only make an adult leaning itinerary feel more playful but also give them a sense of purpose in a new place!

(4) Get local!

Find something within the town you’re staying in to give you a pulse on the local life. For us, it was getting (almost daily) morning coffees and pastries from AMIE just up the road. It added a touch of familiarity and provided a fun rhythm to start the day!

You can also enjoy a Sunday service, get your groceries from the farmers’ market, or ask the locals where to eat. Don’t be alarmed if you, too, wind up at the ugliest, God-forsaken shack on the side of the road and end up enjoying some of the best seafood of the trip! Instagram aesthetics pale in comparison to local recommendations!

The Summer Studio Sale

Had this newsletter gone out on time, I would be THANKING EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU the week after the Summer Studio Sale in June! I showed up at Scott’s with a U-Haul full of canvases and drove home less than three days later with only my tablecloths! Holy moly!

If you were following along, you might remember that there was supposed to be a second, online portion of the sale for my out-of-town collectors. But since the studio was wiped absolutely clean, I started tinkering with ways to still share my work while thanking everyone who continues to support from afar.

That surprise is still underway (albeit with a temporary pause for recovery), and everyone who commented on this post will be the very first in line for what’s in store.

Best Bites of Summer

While the food preferences have been a little touch and go as of late, here are a few of the best bites I’ve enjoyed over the past few months!

CUDDLEFISH — This sushi spot in Dunwoody operates as a coffee shop in the morning and it might just be the best kept secret in town. My friends and I were blown away by the imaginative pastries and lattes (pictured above) and will certainly be back!

FUM — my first taste of contemporary Italian over in West Midtown and no culinary detail was spared, right down to the bone marrow butter that came with the bread service. Treat yourself to a night out and let me know what you think!

FROM THE WELL — one of my most frequented spots in Roswell, Fellows Cafe, opened a sister bakery right next door called From The Well! I love stopping in for a fresh loaf of sourdough, one of their signature cookies, or for my early pregnancy craving, an everything bagel with cream cheese. Yum!

FRUIT BOWLS — as a girl that typically leans more savory than sweet, my newfound craving for fresh fruit has steered me into the elaborate makings of these bowls daily. Here is how to make yours!

half of a frozen banana

add a cup of milk (I use Fairlife for the extra protein!)

note: adjust the fruit to milk ratio to get a thickkk consistency

On a Personal Note

When shopping for my first piece of nursery furniture earlier this month, the design assistant prophetically scribbled my current medical situation, succinctly, in red ink—

ON HOLD, PROUD MOMMA.

In short, I learned that a routine trip up the steps, pregnant with a canvas in hand, will promptly land you at the OBGYN and then in line at the tag office to apply for a temporary handicap parking pass.

Baby is doing great, by the way, but the teensiest part of my lower back has put everything, well, on hold. And yet, as the latter half of that prophecy would suggest, I wouldn’t trade these hard days of pregnancy for the world.

While the last few weeks have included the aforementioned heating pad, lots of time off my feet, and minimal stair usage, they have also held parents visiting to lend a hand, long, seated visits with friends, and a reinvigorated faith in humanity as even the unlikeliest of passersby have helped this mother-to-be cross the street.

Just now as I type, with my feet propped up and the morning light streaming in, I can feel my baby start to kick. And for that, I am just so grateful.

The studio is currently on hold, like so much else, with a hopeful resumption within the next few weeks. But in the meantime, I am learning to lean into this season of being gently tethered — resting, noticing, and growing exactly where my feet are planted.

Hello, dear friends,

How sweet it feels to have a moment to write. It has been several intentional months since our last proper Indy Edit correspondence, as I first filled my time with the family fanfare of the holidays then the slow reemergence into this new year — & I did not want to miss a wink of it!

As close friends keep hearing, I have declared the year ahead as the year of ‘awe’. It was the first Sunday service in January when the pastor invited us all to pull a wooden star from the basket next to communion. Each star donned a word for the recipient to ponder and possibly embrace — and mine simply read ‘awe’.

So much of the last decade of my life has been stacked with dazzling, dizzying moments of amazement — but awe, as I keeping learning — quietly pats the chair, inviting you to sit down and stay a while. And so, in the pursuit of this new pace, we will be transitioning from monthly edits to quarterly edits.

For two distinct reasons, I am enthralled by this change. Firstly, as someone that feels a dramatic internal turning of the page with each new season, a quarterly publication allows me to invite you to join me in those preparations, little rituals, and thoughts.

Secondly, and most importantly, it keeps our time together sacred. Something truly cherished, like a visit with a dear friend who pats the chair beside them — and asking you to stay awhile.

So with that, let our first Indy Edit of the year commence!

A Note on Wintering

As the days stretch longer and the temperatures finally lift, I can’t help but think that this may have been the first winter that I successfully side stepped the seasonal doldrums. For those of you that still have a little ways to go (looking at you, New England!), here are just a few things I tried this winter to hopefully aid you as you hobble to the finish line.

(1) Turning on every lamp before sundown — and turning off every overhead light!

(2) Emphasizing warm foods — like curries and soups as well as lots of teas and frothy lattes (courtesy of my in-house barista, Jake!)

(3) Keeping your scents seasonal — think woody, musky, and warm over zippy, fruity, and floral. I had this candle burning all winter long … with a new scent debuting this Spring…(wink wink!)

(4) Playing hostess — from gift swaps, needlepoint lessons, mahjong nights to cards, I am so grateful for the hostesses in my life that helped the cold nights tick by in good company!

(5) Evening baths — with a heaping scoop of epsom salt and a dash of bubbles

(6) Embracing Sleep — if the sun gets to go to bed early, shouldn’t we as well? And while you’re at it, try zhuzhing up your sleeping space with a heavenly high thread count or with my personal favorite, a weighted blanket. Enjoy!

Onwards to Spring

If you live in the South, then you too are experiencing this first true wave of spring. Hallelujah! From the swaths of birds swooping past the windows to the pillowy Bradford pear trees lining the neighborhood, everywhere I look I am reminded that spring is here to stay.

While my normal preparations are on hold for the moment until I return from Texas (more on that in a minute!), this is what I am most looking forward to upon my return:

(1) Deep cleaning the house — from opening all the windows for revitalized air to scrubbing the baseboards, I am fully on board for the clichéd spring clean!

(2) Hanging curtains — I took a nose dive into the world of custom drapery and can’t wait to hang up these and these upon my return from Texas. They were a gift from Two Pages & I’ll be sharing more about my experience on TikTok soon!

(3) Finishing the bathroom mural — inspired by the festive wallpaper at The Hive (pictured above), I decided that I simply had to try my hand at a powder bath mural. Transparently, this idea came to me in the eleventh hour before hosting a party. In short, 22 ladies had the pleasure of observing a very incomplete mural whilst powdering their noses. C’est la vie!

(4) Planting the front garden — this year we are aiming for low maintenance, deer resistant, and shade hardy plants which I realize is quite the tall order! My Granny B used to plant plastic flowers in her garden beds which may soon become generational wisdom depending on how this season goes. Stay tuned!

(5) Market hopping — weekend to weekend, it is my personal goal to hit up every major farmers market in the Atlanta area. Here are just a few you can add to your list: Alpharetta Farmer’s Market (April 4th) Roswell Farmer’s Market (April 18th), Freedom Farmer’s Market (year round), Grant Park Farmer’s Market (year round)

(6) Refreshing our menus — think herb forward, leafy greens, lighter fare, and for dessert, more fruit adorned sweets like this cheesecake! My brother sent me the recipe when I was in a pinch before a party and it was a hit. Keep scrolling for the recipe!

Burnt Basque Cheesecake

While this recipe was sent to me by my brother, it is actually from a cooking class my entire family took in Spain while I hugged the porcelain throne back at the Airbnb. Oh, the woes of travel! Since you also missed what has become my family’s favorite travel memory, at least we can both still enjoy the fabulous Burnt Basque Cheesecake they made!

Ingredients:
1 kg of Philadelphia cream cheese
250 g white sugar
500 g heavy cream
7 fresh eggs

Steps:

1. Set the oven to 445°F.

2. Mix together the room-temperature cream cheese and the sugar.

3. Incorporate the eggs one by one, then add the cream.

4. Pour mixture into a 9 inch Springform Pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.

5. Bake for 30 minutes. When the timer goes off, turn off the heat and open the oven door to let the cheesecake cool inside. It should look toasted (even burnt!) across the top. Chill in the fridge until you’re ready to serve.

Topping:
Add three handfuls of any combination of berries (strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, etc.) to a pot. Turn on the heat and add a splash of water, a scoop of sugar to your liking, and a squeeze of lemon for a bit of zip. Let simmer until it reaches a jammy consistency, then allow it to cool in the fridge until you’re ready to serve.

¡Buen provecho!

Round Top Bound!

Tomorrow I will be hitting the road and driving, once again, to Texas for the Spring Show in Round Top. Yee - say it with me now - HAW!

After almost two months of exclusively donning paint stained pajamas working away in the studio, my closet is readying itself for it’s grand eclosion into Texan society.

The fanfare surrounding the wardrobes in this tiny town is the giddy to my up and I cannot wait to show you what’s coming with me — like this Christmas gift from my mom in sea moss! How fun?!

And of course, there is the artwork — and a whole car’s worth at that! If you’re in the Round Top area, be sure to stop by Barn L at Blue Hills to see what I have been quietly whipping up these past few months. I love treating my in-person collectors to something brand spanking new, and trust me, this eclectic body of work is one of my favorites to date. Dear Collectors,

February marks the dawn of yet another year, and while birthday festivities are often saved for a sun-dappled August day, I fully embraced the wintry celebration this year. There were flowers throughout the house, friends gathered around tables, flipping cards, calling ‘chambeau!’, a cake adorned with fruit and candles, and toasts both shared and whispered in prayer for just how grateful I am to be here, in the fold of this wondrous life.

As preparations for the party were underway, so was my latest body of work — The Gathered Collection — heralded by the idea that celebration is often accompanied by the act of gathering — of loved ones, of gratitudes, & of flowers.

A prominent feature of the collection is the silhouetted vases, an homage to the many vessels that are omnipresent constituents of our household. Some gifted, most thrifted, and all intentionally transient within the sideboard — waiting to be filled with flowers and sent home with friends.

The words ‘keep the vase’ always accompany the exchange, a standing invitation to the recipient to continue the act of gathering flowers for themselves, or better yet, for others, celebrating life’s moments, both grand and blissfully ordinary.

As a collector, it is my abiding joy to pass on these vessels to each of you, as you mark your own milestones of this wondrous life: unpacking boxes in a new city, answering your calling, taking the leap, crossing the stage, standing at the altar, finishing a chapter, penning a new one, or simply enjoying another lap around the sun.

So keep the vase, my friend, and watch it fill with memory and meaning in the years to come.

As Jake & I walked down Techwood Drive before kickoff, we embraced long-time friends to the beat of age-old fight songs reverberating from the stadium. It was a homecoming, indeed.

That word—homecoming—feels especially resonant right now. We’re nearing one year since our move from New York back to Atlanta, we recently celebrated our five-year wedding anniversary, and after what feels like months of living out of a suitcase, the last of my bags have finally been unpacked. I am finally—and truly—home.

To Texas & Back!

Round Top. Two words that have lived on my vision board for nearly two years—and last week, they served as the carrot that guided me on a twelve-hour solo road trip from Atlanta to Texas to showcase my artwork at Blue Hills. Twice a year, this tiny town of just eighty-seven welcomes thousands of boot-clad designers and hat-topped shoppers eager to wander miles of barns and tents brimming with antiques and treasures alike.

My great-aunt Alice and great-uncle Rodney used to live here—yes, two of the eighty-seven—and it was remarkably tender to receive their stapled packet of notes in the mail about what to expect just days before my departure.

But truthfully, no amount of stamped envelopes could have prepared me for the fullness I would feel after just one week of meeting collectors, mingling with like-minded creatives, and honestly, stretching my wings to take on this cross country venture on my own (additional thoughts here).

It was like chuck-wagon chicken noodle soup for the soul, and I can’t wait to ladle some more into my cup in the very near future! But more on that to come!

The Round Up!

Amid the stampede of creatives and designers that overtook Round Top, it came as no surprise that even a quick walk to the local coffee shop felt like front-row seats at a Western runway. Having been given proper notice of the fashion fanfare, I too made sure to tote some of my favorite brands and small business friends to Texas with me —and I’m thrilled to share my round up!

A Day in Daufuskie

It is always a delight to receive a voice note (we send many!) from my dear friend Lauren Dills, the incomparable hostess behind Escape and Celebrate. But an even greater delight to receive an impromptu invitation to partake in her fall photoshoot for the illustrious Supper Club.

Without hesitation, Jake & I hopped in the car, boarded the ferry just off Hilton Head and made our way to Historic Haig Point on Daufuskie Island, where an evening of friendship and food simmered together as the sun melted into the horizon.

Lauren spared no detail: candied pears with calligraphed name tags, sparkling apple cider crowned with cinnamon sticks and star anise, and a table thoughtfully adorned with extraordinarily ordinary items anyone could get their hands on. And that’s it. That is Lauren’s magic.

Not only does she add a dash of whimsy to everything she does, but she does so in a way that invites you to follow suit. She shares her tidbits and tricks quarterly in The Supper Club, and between us gals, a subscription is the perfect gift this holiday season for the fellow hostesses in your life!

Walking Through West Point

It’s not every day you have the chance to walk the very grounds where your parents’ story began—and how lucky was I to not only visit West Point in September, but to have my mom and dad as our guides around campus.

From the dance hall where they first met, the bridge where my dad sealed their courtship with a (forehead) kiss, to the Trinity Chapel where they exchanged vows—the sentimentalist in me savored every second!

Some side quests of our trip upstate included window shopping in Cold Springs and Beacon, downing a half gallon of apple cider and a dozen donuts at a nearby orchard, and happily stumbling upon Wildflower Farms.

What began as a simple pit stop quickly unfolded into drinks on the patio, then inspired light bites, and before we knew it—a full-blown culinary experience as we tasted our way through their inventive menu (celery burger included!). We closed the evening with a leisurely stroll around the grounds, just as dusk settled behind the Adirondacks. A memorable stop indeed!

The Hamptons In A Day

After dropping off the boys at Bethpage Black, my mom and I embarked on the last leg of our trip—taking on the Hamptons in a single day. This feat deserves its own Indy Guide, but for now, here are the highlights:

• Round Swamp – worth it for the sea salt chocolate chip cookies alone (and, if you’re lucky, a possible sighting of Miss Ina Garten herself).

• Sagaponack General Store – hands down the best breakfast biscuit you’ll ever have and the farm views out the back door are *chefs kiss*

  

• Il Buco Vita – handcrafted ceramics from Italy? That will have both you and your mom obsessing over? Yes and yes!

• Nellie’s – the quirkiest nook for antiques (with the Olsen twins shop next door!)

• Lobster Rolls from LUNCH – ask for yours to go with an extra bun; with a heaping helping of lobster, it’s a two-for-one if you will!

Magnolias in Mobile

Each year, Mobile Bay Magazine partners with local architects, builders, and designers to bring to life show-stopping Inspiration Homes, with ticket proceeds supporting a local charity. When esteemed interior designer, visionary, and friend Gabrielle Picard was invited to transform the guest bedroom of this year’s Inspiration Home, I had the distinct pleasure of color-matching a custom magnolia diptych to her meticulously curated palette of fabrics and finishes.

Feeling Fourteen in Augusta

These last several months have undoubtedly been full on—long days on the road, late nights in the studio, and the ping, ping, pings of to-dos that leave you feeling your age by bedtime.

But somewhere in the mix, two of my good friends from New York pressed pause with me as we stole away to my parents’ home in Augusta for the weekend. I knew it was exactly what my spirit needed because the whole time, I kept saying aloud how I felt fourteen.

We spent our days perfecting dives in the pool and romping around the neighborhood tennis courts, running aimless errands with the windows down, playing round after round of cards on the deck, moseying through antique shops and chatting with someone’s meemaw by the cash wrap, accomplishing a reckless amount of sunbathing sans sunscreen, and—most importantly—doing it all in the absence of those internal ping, ping, pings.

As I continue to grow up alongside my friends, I’ve come to deeply appreciate this superpower we ignite in one another: an open invitation to come in to play, leaving your cares by the door.

Like growing older, but never aging—almost as if you’re forever fourteen.

The Collection

The Wildflower Collection, as you may recall, first took root on my daily walks during a family trip out West. With kitchen shears in one hand and a water glass in the other, I picked my way through the wildflowers that swayed in the fields just beyond our house.

Wildflowers are often thought of simply as symbols of freedom—untamed, unbound, and carried by the breeze. But as I admired these flowers beneath the unrelenting sun as my own shoulders freckled and reddened, their enduring blossoms came to embody a new spirit—a spirit of resilience.

As I stood there in the breathtaking and unforgiving landscape of the West, I found that the freedom of the wildflower stems not from a life of ease, but rather, from a wondrous will to persist through hardship.

In the absence of a gardener’s watchful eye and careful hand, wildflowers adapt, endure, and will themselves toward the light pushing up through soil selected by the wind — blooming in spite of it all.

In this life, we often find ourselves in seasons of resilience, our spirits leaving their mark in soil we may not have chosen for ourselves. Still, we choose to push toward the light, with grit and grace—creating beauty in arid lands.

And in the process, we find true freedom, knowing that all you need to endure already exists within you.

As these canvases now line the studio walls, I imagine the lives they will mirror—reflecting the memories of collectors who, like the wildflowers, have sojourned through seasons of self-reliance, inner strength, and, against all odds, persisted.

May this collection inspire you to walk among the wildflowers—taking root and rising, wherever the wind may carry you.

From the safety of my seat, I couldn’t help but feel a strange camaraderie with these men—hats flying, boots kicking, tucking and rolling back to their feet again and again. As I approach my seventh year of business this Sunday (how has it already been seven?), I can say: there have been many bulls. The funny thing about entrepreneurship—unlike more conventional career paths—is that you enter expecting the bucking.

And yet, something within you keeps coming back to the metaphorical rodeo. For the thrill. The risk. The wild anticipation before the gate swings open. The breathlessness of falling. And the triumph of having dared in the first place.

This year—these past few months, even—have brought more bulls than ever. And I say that with so much reverence and gratitude. It has been the thrill of a lifetime!

Amidst the chaos in the arena, I also noticed the friends and family lining the gates, hooping and hollering for their rider through it all.

And for me, that’s you. Thank you for being here. Thank you for reading along — cheering along — for the past seven years. It’s been a wild ride with you by my side.

Wildflower Walks

On a recent family trip out West, I found myself cherishing the unplanned moments of merry-making with loved ones that arise only in elongated stretches of togetherness. Scanning for shooting stars with my brother, sharing a raspberry lemonade with my niece and nephew at the morning market, embracing the unique personalities of our horses on a long ride through the countryside, introducing my PopPop to lattes, singing with gusto alongside my sister to “Country Roads” in the hopes of winning a free T-shirt, and laughing over the delirious inside jokes that emerged during long car rides to and from the national parks. Our days were full, and so was my heart.

However, when I did find quiet pockets of time to myself, I came to deeply cherish my wildflower walks. I would walk the stretch of road just beyond the house, where the flower-lined fields met the Tetons—and inevitably return home with a foraged bouquet in a drinking glass. This small ritual became a daily indulgence (my mother and sister eventually joined in too!), and before long, our dining table was blanketed from end to end in blooms.

While I adore my own carefully coddled flower beds back home, I couldn’t help but be struck by the unbothered beauty of these wildflowers—resilient, self-sufficient, and thriving in the harsh (but wondrous) landscape of the West. I was in awe. I still am.

And yes, a few field notes may have made their way back to the studio with me.

Summer Reading

The mark of a beautifully written memoir is how it places you right alongside the author, as if you’re living the story with them. That’s exactly how I felt reading Ina Garten’s Be Ready When the Luck Happens.

One night I was up late baking for her first customers in East Hampton; the next, I was dozing in a tent after eating my way through the French countryside. I fretted with her over too-hard baguettes and laughed through every charming mishap. But just as present as the whimsy was the weight—grief, uncertainty, and hard-won resilience. It was that blend of grace and chutzpah that made me feel so deeply connected to Ina, even across the pages.

And in a final wink from the author: not long after finishing the book, I was served the most incredible potato salad at my mom’s house. Wouldn’t you know it—the recipe was Ina’s! Brava!

Speaking of reading, I have to share one more recommendation — one that is near and dear to my heart! Over the past two years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside my dear friend Kim to illustrate and format her latest labor of love: a Bible study titled More of God in Our Lives & Stories: The Power of the Resurrection.

Every once in a while, I’ll get a little ping asking for an outfit link—but this weekend, the most unsuspecting ensemble broke the inquiry record.

For a wedding this past weekend, I decided to breathe new life into an old bridesmaid dress tucked in the back of my closet. I draped a stretch of sheer floral fabric across the shoulders, and voilà—it gave the whole outfit a reimagined look, and y’all loved it.

I can hardly believe it—but we’re heading into our fifth month at Scott’s Antiques this weekend! The past four shows have been nothing short of amazing, with designers and collectors from across the Southeast stopping by—fabric swatches and paint chips in hand—to find just the right pieces for their homes.

When speaking of metaphorical bulls earlier, joining the whirlwind of Scott’s was certainly one of them for me this year—and what a ride it’s been. If you’re planning to attend, I’d love to see you there.

When I began writing this month’s Indy Edit in my head, I imagined it as a long letter from summer camp—or maybe a thoughtfully chosen postcard from travels abroad. But truthfully, this edition feels more like a note left on the back of an envelope, waiting on the counter for you to find. Just a quick way of saying: here I am, and there I go.

Lately, I’ve certainly been more there than here—and I’d love to tell you about it — in shorthand.

Let’s begin!

Solstice Soirée — A week ago, my friends gathered on the back patio for an outdoor dinner party beneath the lingering light of the summer solstice—with just a touch of whimsy. Everyone brought a dish to share, and earlier that day, secret roles had been assigned. From poem readings of The Sun by Emily Dickinson to begin the meal to an impromptu performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream before dessert, our time together was a testament to the magic that stirs when you embrace the unscripted with arms open wide.

Portugal - We traveled to Lisbon and Porto last month with Jake’s family, and I’m still drinking from the full visual cup that trip left me with. Certain memories keep resurfacing—especially a tiny tile shop I sifted through with my mother-in-law, and a mural of muses that’s etched itself into my mind.

There’s so much more I wish to share (along with gratitude to Jake’s parents for having us!), but more on that coming soon in the next Indy Guide…

Homeworthy — I had the sincere pleasure of revisiting my archived abstract painting style for the effortlessly chic and classically fabulous Fran Acciardo (@franacciardo), in preparation for her recent Homeworthy interview. The color inspiration for her piece came from her stunning NYC apartment—and her signature phrase, “I love the impracticality of it all.”

Scottie’s in Augusta — As someone who’s always happy for a reason to visit home and stroll the boutiques with my mom, having my work hang in Augusta’s newest (and cutest) shop, Scottie’s Studio, felt like a full circle moment. I’m so grateful to Crissie—shop owner & and all-around gem—for inviting me to create seven custom pieces for her beautifully curated space. If you find yourself in town, do stop by. Your closet (& spirit) will thank you!

Staycation — This summer, we’re embracing the art of the staycation, inspired by a weekend well spent at The Forth Hotel here in Atlanta, where we celebrated my dear friend Heather’s 30th birthday. An afternoon by the pool, cocktails and dinner along the Beltline, and a complimentary yoga class the next morning—it was the kind of weekend that reminds you that you can enjoy good company and a change of pace — sans the plane ticket!

Mahjong! — Meet the riveting Chinese tile game that’s sweeping across the South (and my social schedule)! Think contract rummy meets dominoes, layered with its own lexicon of expressions and etiquette that keep every round delightfully unpredictable—like clinking drinks whenever the birdie bam is played.

Pressing Pause — I took a much-needed breather from the studio with an afternoon visit to Pause at their Buckhead location. From sweating it out in the sauna to floating in 1,200 pounds of magnesium sulfate (!?), the experience was equal parts grounding and—intriguing? I adored it and have a feeling you will too. Go see for yourself!

In the Garden — No matter where the days took me these last two months, they have mostly started right here—checking in on the garden. What began as a small collection of herbs has quietly grown into a menagerie of little delights: snowy alyssum, a bed of lavender, a blooming hosta, a lemon tree, a lime tree too, and my little pet—star jasmine—whose tendrils I’ve been gently training to climb the back wall of our home. Progress photos to come!

Summer Thoughts — Recently, my nephew joined me in the garden one morning to water the plants, and at the tender age of five, our shared chore inevitably unraveled into a morning of splashing through the sprinkler—which, to my surprise, was something my spirit may have needed even more than his.

Long after he went home, with the scent of hose water still in my hair, I found myself reflecting on the preciousness of summer. What was once a season of sprawling freedom—untethered by adulthood—has come to feel more fleeting, something to be cupped and held close, even if just for a moment.

A sunny lunch break on the driveway. A shared meal on the patio. A new game played with friends. A stroll through a farmers market. Or simply a morning spent with a five-year-old. In the ever-present rhythm of go, go, go, I promise—summer still persists, patiently perched between the here and the there, waiting for you.

May you find it—and may you cherish it.

Hello, and welcome back to this month’s issue of the Indy Edit.

Is it just me, or does April feel like the first month we’re all truly coming back to life? The days are longer, the skies are bluer, and there’s an undeniable hum of energy both in and out of the studio.

This past month has been a whirlwind—in the best way. From my very first exhibition at Scott’s Antiques to a heartfelt evening supporting equine therapy (yes, horses!), it’s been a season of showing up, stepping out, and soaking in every bit of it.

If you were on socials this past weekend, chances are you’ve seen the buzz around Scott’s Antique Market here in Atlanta. Held every second weekend, it’s a beloved destination for collectors, interior designers, and curious treasure hunters from all across the Southeast—and this month, I got to be part of it.

With a nudge from my friend SK, I applied for a booth… and this weekend, I drank straight from the firehose that is Scott’s. And wow—it was incredible! Shoppers arrived with fabric swatches and paint chips in hand, and I had the joy of helping them choose the perfect pieces of art for their homes. There’s something so sacred about connecting face to face—email and DMs are lovely, but nothing compares to the real-life spark of shared excitement and inspiration.

A special shoutout to my wonderful booth mates (you know who you are!!) for taking me under your wing, calling me back to my booth when I wandered off shopping, and making the weekend unforgettable. Here’s to (hopefully) many more!

Spring, Styled

I found quiet moments of peace this past weekend whilst getting dressed—something about choosing an outfit with intention that felt grounding amidst the frenzied energy of Scott’s.

A Weekend at ANWA

Jake and I had the sincere pleasure of attending the Augusta National Women’s Amateur last weekend, taking in the action at both Champions Retreat and Augusta National. The energy on the courses was absolutely palpable—every corner of the event was alive with anticipation. Even the gift shop became its own spectacle (peep the magnolia hat I found!), and, of course, the pimiento cheese & peach ice cream sandwich did not disappoint.

But amid the excitement of it all, my personal highlight was watching young women like Kiara Romero take on the course with such poise and composure. Beyond her impressive golfing ability, what truly struck me was her sunny disposition on the course—a beacon of sportsmanship and grace. Her sister served as her caddy, and we found ourselves cheering alongside her mother, experiencing it all as a true family affair. Sending best wishes to Kiara as she continues to shine her light on the course and beyond!

Patio Dining: Back in Full Spring

Patio season is officially back—those warm, lingering evenings spent outdoors with good company are a luxury I’m so glad to be enjoying again. Rosie’s BBQ heralded this special season in the most charming way. Every detail was thoughtfully considered—from the unfussy tablecloths to the effortless floral arrangements, and candlesticks that burned low as conversation amongst new friends drifted into the evening.

Next Friday: Bourbon, Burgers & Blossoms

I’m honored to join this year’s Bourbon & Burgers event as a live artist in support of the incredible equine therapy program at Chastain Horse Park.

Throughout the evening, I’ll be creating a one-of-a-kind piece titled Bridle & Bloom—a painting that brings together magnolias and meaningful spaces. This work features my signature southern blooms, framed by hand-gilded horse bits and reins, as a nod to the Park’s heritage and mission. The palette draws from Chastain’s natural surroundings—fresh greens, warm browns, and soft golds inspired by classic horse tack and the rich beauty of magnolia leaves.

In addition to the auctioned live painting, I’ll also have a small collection of works available for purchase in support of the cause, which I look forward to sharing more about next week!

Pop Pop’s Pearls

My Pop Pop recently started sending out bits of wisdom he picks up, ties with a bow, and sends off in a monthly newsletter to my cousins and me—he’s been calling them Pop Pop’s Pearls. It’s the sunniest spot in my inbox as of late, and I thought I’d share one that stuck with me:

Of the many gifts my Pop Pop has, one that stands out is his ability to gather wisdom and share it freely. He’s doing a beautiful job of giving his gift away, and it’s something I find deeply inspiring. What’s your gift asking to be shared in this season?

The Return of the Herb Garden

After two years of city living under a strict no plants on the fire escape rule, my herb garden has finally made its triumphant return—and already, it’s the gift that keeps giving.

Mint, basil, cilantro, lavender, rosemary… each one growing with purpose. A sprig for a garnish here, a handful for a hostess gift there. And thanks to Scott’s, we’ve even welcomed three baby tomato plants into the mix—just in time for summer.

Next time you’re at Goodwill, start a little collection of miniature dollar vases. Snippets of fresh herbs tucked inside make for the easiest, most thoughtful gifts.

While we’re on the topic of third places that feel like home, I have to mention TBB 122 in Alpharetta. From the moment you step inside, you’re met with the warmth of artisanally baked goods and the kind of brunch menu that makes choosing nearly impossible. I stopped in with friends the other week, and let’s just say—I’m already looking for an excuse to go back.

Just look at that breakfast sammy - house bacon, scrambled eggs, citrus crema, roasted garlic, & basil pesto? Yes, please!

What’s in the (Makeup) Bag

I love switching up what’s in my makeup bag with the seasons, and this spring, I’m leaning into a more natural, easy-breezy look. I’m trying out a lightweight foundation, paired with a trio of colors to enhance all the right spots—all applied with this brush.

For the eyes, I’m fluffing up my brows with this pomade, dotting my under-eye with this concealer, and finishing with a natural brown mascara.

Also, I’ve been loving this lip gloss (& ointment balm???) from my friend Heather—it smells as scrumptious as it feels.

Art That Gives You Butterflies

I’m excited to share a first for my walls: framed butterflies. These visually striking creatures, gifted by my mom and aunt, are the perfect addition to our home and might just be the ideal gift for yourself or a loved one this spring!

Seasonal Scents

The scent of the season—or at least in this house—seems to be white tea. It wafts upstairs from this reed diffuser my mom swears by, this rollerball perfume I keep dabbed on my wrists, and is the main scent in this body wash I keep reaching for. It’s light, bright, and perfect for spring!

When living in New York City, you're often asked where you live—what neighborhood, what cross streets, and, for visitors, which subway station is closest to you. For us, our answers were always the same: Nolita. Mott and Broome. And the Spring Street Station.

I was proud to call the Spring Street Station ours. For one, it was nestled among my favorite shops. The 6 train was reliably timely. And the romantic in me secretly liked that it was named after my favorite season — spring — where everything feels possible.

Most subway platforms are adorned with artwork unique to the station. The designs vary, reflecting the character of the stop, and at Spring Street, we had a tile mosaic outlined by tulips.

The first time I truly fell in love with the city was on an early March morning three years ago. My husband and I set out on a meandering walk through Lower Manhattan as the city stirred awake. Shop windows blinked open, chittering birds flit overhead, and to my surprise, there were tulips. Everywhere.

They lined the promenade of Washington Square Park, greeted us at restaurant entryways, and welcomed neighbors on brownstone stoops. Endless arrays of colorful buds, reaching upward and outward, eager for Spring’s promise.

It felt as though the city itself was courting Spring’s arrival with bouquets of tulips, and by extension, it was courting me. Inviting me to join in this internal unfurling—stretching one’s spirit upward and outward to embrace the brighter days ahead and the good things to come.

This colorful invitation was one I couldn’t refuse. I, too, wanted to be where the tulips were.

So, the following year, we found ourselves living in New York City, in the Nolita neighborhood, on Mott and Broome, just a stone’s throw from the Spring Street Station.

What followed in those two years was nothing short of a spiritual awakening—an internal spring, if you will. A season where everything felt possible, if only you’re willing to stretch your arms wide enough to ask, and most importantly, to receive.

With that, it is with the deepest gratitude that I introduce to you my latest body of work, The Tulip Collection, arriving this March. Each painting within the collection is a unique expression of color and form, crafted with the intention of reflecting the character of its collector and playfully personifying their own "internal spring."

My sincerest hope is that every piece in your home becomes your spiritual subway station platform—greeting you as you come and go, reminding you of the good things heading your way, and courting you to simply reach out and bloom.

Hello and happy February from yours truly (and my studio mascot, Miss Georgia!). For those of you who are new around here, I first met Georgia at an everything-must-go loft sale in New York City two years ago, and she’s been my steadfast studio companion ever since.

This photo feels particularly relevant now, as it’s been just the two of us this past month, navigating the gray of January by immersing ourselves in the creation of a vibrant new collection. The sense of nostalgia that often weaves itself through my work has emerged once again, and this time, as a tribute to early spring in the city I so love…

The collection will be officially announced this coming Wednesday, so until then, it’s our little secret—Georgia’s and mine. (Turn on notifications here to be the first to know!)

With that, let’s dive into our January edit, shall we?

Comfort for Breakfast

As we hunkered down through the chill of January, we found ourselves continually drawn to the warmth of breakfast and the comfort it brings. Fellows Cafe in Roswell became our go-to spot (their sourdough cinnamon bun and fumbally toast are absolute musts!), with Le Bon Nosh and The Daily as two more scrumptious spots to try.

Honorable mentions go to the gluten-free, dairy-free pancakes from Trader Joe’s!

Loving Leopard

In an earnest search for the perfect Southern coat—one that’s substantial enough to serve as an extra layer but light enough to adapt to ever-shifting temperatures—I stumbled upon the ideal leopard coat. Peep the oversized collar!

Glow Girl

This sublime exfoliating gel, courtesy of my friend Heather, has officially made it’s way into my skincare regimen. It activates with the circular motions of your fingertips as you apply, allowing the gel to bind to flaky skin and leaving a brighter complexion once rinsed. It’s quick, effective, and perfect for primping before a big event (or just for a little glow on a Wednesday).

Sew many ideas, so little time!

After years of wanting to sew my own clothes, my mother-in-law gifted me not only her mother’s sewing machine but also sewing classes at the local art school!

From stitching napkins to constructing totes, I’ve been eagerly soaking up every rudimentary Tuesday night lesson in the hopes of one day sewing my dream creation —an evening gown!

Have I already bought the fabric for said gown? Am I trying to finish it before Lucy's wedding? Is her wedding this weekend? Why yes, yes indeed. Here goes!

Shelf Styling

We’ve tackled many projects around the house, but no task has stumped me more than styling our living room shelves. I’m happy to report that after three months of shifting items this way and that, and a quick trip to Home Depot, I think we’ve finally nailed it. My tip? Clear off the shelves, gather a range of items you hold dear (think: books, bowls, plants, photos, candles) and just have fun with it!

A Couch for Jake

Speaking of home improvements, I’m excited to share that the search for the perfect comfy couch is officially over! Take a peek behind the hunt and discover what we did with our original couch, which was just a touch too small for our living room needs.

PS - the blue chairs in the sitting room (pictured above) have been a huge hit with y’all. We adore them and I’m so glad so many of you do too! You can shop more furniture finds here!

Michelin Approved Plans

One of our favorite things to do when we lived in New York was book dinner reservations months in advance. Not only did it give our week a little something to look forward to, but we’d often book a couple of extra seats for friends to join.

Now that Atlanta’s officially on the Michelin map, we’re bringing this tradition south. From Talat Market with Lucy and Ward to Lyla Lila with Heather and Akil, we’ve been loving the fun flair to our dining routine. Where should we go next?!

There is nothing that thrills me more than a fresh start. Whether it's a simple Sunday reset or a big change of address, the idea of turning the page to something new has always excited me – and New Year's Eve is no exception. But before we rush headlong into the promise of the year ahead, I’d love to take a moment to savor the sweet studio memories we shared in 2024.

Let's begin!

January started with what can only be described as a transformative getaway with the Founders Society. Alongside my cofounder, Hayley, we had the privilege of welcoming 16 extraordinary female entrepreneurs from across the country for a weekend dedicated to rest, reflection, and reigniting the spark for the year ahead. What began as an opportunity to pour into others ended up filling our own cups in ways we hadn’t anticipated. I’ll forever cherish the drive home — shedding tears of gratitude while exchanging dreams with Hayley on speakerphone — knowing that this was just the beginning.

February kicked off with the launch party for I Have This Friend, a concierge service for creatives. Through this platform, I had the pleasure of leading a watercolor class in SoHo, being featured in an interior design photoshoot in the West Village (pictured above), and spotting flyers with my artwork around New York City. One flyer, in particular, was posted just outside the very church where I had once prayed for this opportunity—talk about a full-circle moment! See below!

March brought an exciting opportunity to work on a commissioned project for The Gin Cabin in upstate New York. I loved collaborating with the owner, Nicole, and went on to also create artwork for her stunning apartment in Tribeca!

April marked the exciting launch of the much-anticipated Founders Society Podcast! To celebrate, we gathered at JJ's Flower Shop in Atlanta with friends, family, and fellow founders for an unforgettable launch party. Since then, Hayley and I have recorded 32 episodes with incredible female founders like Mimi Striplin of The Tiny Tassel, Sallie Holder of The Brim, and Carrie Morey of Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit, to name a few!

We are dropping our first episode for 2025 next week, and trust me, you won’t want to miss it!

May marked the launch of the Magnolia Collection, which has since become a signature style of the studio and one of our most sought-after designs. Inspired by my Southern roots, this collection first blossomed in my NYC apartment before being featured at the Brooklyn Art Walk. From collectors in my hometown of Augusta to those in New York City, the Magnolia Collection has fostered meaningful connections with the places and people I hold dear.

June was the embodiment of a dream fulfilled as I had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with NYC clothing designer Meghan Kinney on her SS24 clothing line that featured my artwork. The photoshoot took place right in my apartment studio, adding a personal touch to the creative process. To top it off, Meghan hosted a Colors of Indy party to launch the new collection at her store in my neighborhood, Nolita—an unforgettable celebration of art, fashion, and community.

July brought another unforgettable experience as we hosted our second Founders Society Getaway, this time in the charming city of Charleston. From private sip & shops and candle-making sessions to intimate patio soirees, every moment was filled with inspiration and connection in the low country!

August was a whirlwind of summer travels, but amidst the comings and goings, I had the sincere pleasure of collaborating with one of my favorite jewelry designers, Larsson & Jennings, for an in-studio photoshoot and blog feature. You can read all about it here!

September brought a serendipitous blend of milestones—a house closing and an acceptance into the Spotlight on Art show, set to take place this January in Atlanta. Given the timing of it all, it felt like the perfect, welcoming gesture from the city I hold so dear.

October marked the beginning of my farewell tour as we prepared for our move from New York to Atlanta. During this bittersweet time, I had the honor of completing my final—and most cherished—commissioned project for a couple living on the Upper East Side. They invited me to their farmhouse upstate, where we explored the many color stories found in their hand-tilled oasis. I then translated those vibrant hues onto canvas and delivered the paintings just a day or so before the moving truck arrived, making it my very last creative act in New York City. It was a poignant, tender and fitting way to close this chapter.

November featured the debut of my Magnolia Collection with The Collective Dallas! As my first gallery partner, it was incredibly exciting to see all of our hard work throughout the fall come to life in such a vibrant launch. The experience has been a true joy—meeting new collectors and collaborating with the amazing team at The Collective.

December capped off the year with the furnishing of my new studio in Atlanta. The walls are lined with blank canvases, awaiting Spring commissions, while hopeful studio plans are pinned to the calendar.

I’m not sure what the next year will bring, and that’s okay. For now, I’m simply grateful to hold the blessings of this past year—its moments, its growth, and all the possibilities that lie ahead.

Writing was always a natural way of expressing my thoughts, but somewhere along the way, my enthusiasm for writing collided with the remarks of teachers about illegibly loopy handwriting, inventive sentence structure, and a smattering of typos — a result of an omnipresent eagerness to share my thoughts before they slipped away.

Exactly one year ago, I made a promise to myself: to start writing again— to you, once a month, typos and all, with that same eagerness to share all that I hold dear. And now, twelve monthly newsletters later, I would like to thank you, dear friends, family, and subscribers (who feel like both), for reading along. It means more than you could know!

So, with a heart full of gratitude, let's begin one last time for 2024—here’s to the stories yet to be told, the words yet to be written, and the promise of another year ahead!

Home for the Holidays

This past weekend, we hosted our "Home for the Holidays" housewarming party to finally squeeze all of our Atlanta friends tight, and our hearts are still aglow. The celebration was a festive culmination of weeks spent sourcing furniture, tying bows, making ice cubes, and collecting vintage cups to match my grandmother’s punch bowl! It was a creative endeavor in the most delightful way. Here are a few of my takeaways from the weekend:

Be playful with your palette! Instead of the traditional red and green of fir trees and holly berries, we decorated our tablescape with green pears and pomegranates (see below!).

Let your music set the tone. I sifted through holiday classics to find songs that combined that old New York vibe with bright beats for a swanky evening feel. Give it a listen here!

Save with simplicity. My grand plans to drape magnolia garlands throughout the house vanished when I saw the price tag (woof!), so I opted instead for green satin bows on the bannister, every doorknob, and our tree. Add some striped ribbons on the tree for some pop!

Invite your neighbors. Just trust me on this one. A heartfelt story for another day.

Thank your parents. I have to chuckle as I type this because the lead up to the party was full of hail mary plays by our parents. From last minute Costco runs to plating piping hot buffalo dip as guests waltzed through the door, our parents were the real MVPs this weekend! We love y’all and are so grateful to be learning from the best!

What We Are Loving this December

1. Cowgirl Christmas

   Knee-high cowgirl boots that actually fit a wider calf? Yes, please! I’ve been receiving compliments all month about this pair, and I’m thrilled to say they’re true to size and incredibly comfortable. *add to cart*

2. That ~Bowling Ball~ Glow

   The other week, my younger brother very kindly asked me how I got my forehead to shine like a bowling ball. Ha! The secret? This toner. I was using the InnisFree Green Tea toner until a stubborn set of bumps called for something a little more heavy-duty—bowling ball heavy, to be exact!

3. Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree

   These powder blue chairs have been the standout piece in our sitting room lately, and they were an absolute hit at our holiday party. Not only do they feature a subtle swivel, but they also rock—combining style with soothing comfort in a Brenda Lee kind of way. You can shop the other chair contenders here!

   

4. Double Bows

   I recently tried my hand at tying double bows (as seen at the top of our tree), and let me tell you, there’s no turning back now! Whether on a tree, gift, or wreath, this simple trick instantly adds a little extra flair.

5. A surprise scent!

   Jake was gifted this candle from a coworker and it has quickly been added to our household rotation. It’s a reimagined take on strawberry (?) of all scents, and let me tell you, it’s unexpectedly divine. Perfect for gifting!

6. Morning croissants

   With all of our recent houseguests, our go-to hosting trick has been keeping Trader Joe’s croissants in the freezer. Simply set them out overnight to proof, give them a quick egg wash for that perfect glossy finish, and pop them in the oven for a warm, chocolatey treat your guests will love.

   

7. In Bloom

   We recently received the most splendid waxed amaryllis—have you heard of them? Neither had we, but they’re the perfect holiday gift. With their striking lime green stalks that yield breathtaking ruby blooms, these beauties require absolutely zero maintenance. Simply set them out and enjoy the show!

8. Swept Up in Scarlett

   I recently stumbled upon a copy of Gone With The Wind at the thrift store, and I can’t seem to put it down. I’m 500 pages in, with 500 pages left to go! If you’ve read it, I would love to talk about it with you!

9. Rugs! Rugs! Rugs!

   In a effort to cozy up the (now only half-empty) house, we’re adding rugs! We are expecting this subtle yet lively rug option for the dining room this week and I’ve created an entire wishlist here & here to select from for the remaining rooms.

10. Christmas Miracles

    The other day, as I was placing Granny B’s toy soldiers on the tree, I experienced what can only be described as a Christmas miracle. To my surprise, a dainty gold bracelet appeared, delicately wrapped around one of the ornaments. If you recall my last note, I shared my wish for heirloom jewelry from loved ones. As I sat there in front of the tree with her bracelet in hand, I felt her presence so strongly—like a hug from heaven—and I’m deeply grateful for moments like this that continue to weave our loved ones into our lives and stories.

The Spirit of the Season

As we scooped cupfuls of eggnog this weekend, I couldn’t help but also think of my Grandmom (Dorothy), who used to freeze a gallon of eggnog (sans bourbon!) for me each year and thaw it as a birthday surprise in February. It's easy to get swept up in the hustle and bustle of the season, but when it comes down to it, this time of year is all about gestures—small acts that show you care. Whether it's a freshly baked croissant, an invitation to a neighbor, or a cup of eggnog shared with someone special, I hope you enjoy a moment that reminds you of the true spirit of the season.

When I lived on Mott Street, I quickly became enamored with the nearby perfumer, Diptyque. Their perfume became a part of a daily ritual— spritzing the sheets of my freshly made bed —and this candle is a signature scent that never fails to spark curiosity from guests.

When Jake and I were first engaged, we were gifted a Polaroid camera. What initially seemed like a fun, lighthearted present soon became something far more meaningful. This past weekend, I was chatting with my sisters about meaningful ways to let others know you're thinking of them—without reaching for your credit card. I’d love to share a few of our ideas to top off today’s holiday edit:

1. Sharing your bookshelf – Gift a book from your shelf, along with a note explaining why its theme, main character, or storyline reminded you of them.

2. A homemade treat – Whip up your favorite family recipe and include a handwritten recipe card so they can recreate it for many meals to come.

3. Frame a cherished photo – Dust off a photo of you and your loved one and slip it into a frame for them to display in their home.

4. Flowers from your yard – Snip a few flowers (our camellia bush is currently in full bloom!) and place them in a bud vase as a thoughtful hostess gift for upcoming holiday parties.

5. Family Heirlooms – Breathe new life into your heritage by passing along family heirlooms this Christmas. From forgotten necklaces and photo journals to vintage clothes and Christmas ornaments of old, delight your loved ones with meaningful mementos from one generation to the next. (My great-aunt Brenda once gifted me watercolor paintings from my South African great-grandmother, Muzza, which are proudly displayed in my home to this day.)
