Dear Friend,

Month 9, a reminder of how far God has brought us, how far his promises has held us and how well he keeps his promises.

It is a new month and we start a new series.

The Faith Crisis Nobody Warned You About

Let’s start where the ache begins. You heard God. You were sure of it. It wasn’t emotional hype. You weren’t hallucinating.

The signs were clear. The dreams repeated. The scriptures aligned. The inner peace settled like dew.

Yet here you are walking through a life that looks NOTHING like the Word He spoke.

You were told:

• You will be the head and not the tail but you’re being dragged at the bottom of situations.

• You will be fruitful but you’ve faced closed wombs, shut doors, and barren fields.

• You will lend to nations but right now, you’re dodging debt calls and praying for urgent 10k.

• You’ll be a voice but your life feels stuck in mute.

Let’s confess this: Obedience has never felt this disappointing. Faith has never felt this fragile. And promise has never felt this far.

But you are not alone. And you are not lost. You’re just in the Waiting Room.

Bible Characters Who Also Felt Lied To

1. Joseph The Anointed Slave (Genesis 37–41)

Joseph didn’t misunderstand God. He truly saw himself elevated. But after the dream came betrayal. And then a pit. And then Potiphar’s house. And then a prison.

And not once do we hear him say, “This is the palace I saw.”Yet God was never absent.

“Until the time that his word came to pass, the word of the Lord tested him.” – Psalm 105:19

His reality didn’t match the prophecy because the prophecy wasn’t for a boy. It was for the man he would become.

2. Moses The Obedient Disaster (Exodus 5)

God says, “Set My people free.” Moses obeys.

But Pharaoh doubles the oppression. The people turn on Moses. Even Moses turns to God saying, “Why did You even send me?”

When obedience triggers opposition, it feels like betrayal. But God wasn’t absent He was stretching Moses to lead through resistance, not applause.

3. David The Hidden King (1 Samuel 16–23)

Anointed publicly. Fought Goliath. Loved by the people. Yet he’s running, hunted, betrayed. You don’t see a crown. You see caves. You don’t see celebration. You see loneliness.

But it was the caves that wrote the Psalms.

"You anointed me, yet You allowed spears? You called me king, yet I’m running from the throne?"

Still, God was not confused. He was building depth before giving David dimensions.

Why the Opposite Happens After the Promise

1. Because the weight of what’s coming must be matched by the depth of who’s carrying it.

Promises are heavy.Destinies have mass. So God digs down before He lifts up. He trains your roots before He reveals your fruit.

2. Because He needs to kill your idolatry of timelines.

God’s words are eternal, not seasonal. He is not obligated to obey your calendar. Sometimes, He’ll speak ahead of your growth, knowing it will take pressure to mature you into the vessel that can carry it.

3. Because contradiction is a filter it tests what you really believe.

Will you still call Him faithful when it looks like He failed you? Will you stay, not just because of what He said, but because of who He is?

What to Do When the Swing Feels Violent

A. Grieve Loudly But Grieve With God

Don’t pretend you’re okay. Even Jesus wept. Let the tears fall, but don’t let the enemy collect your tears for bitterness. Offer them to God.

B. Speak the Word Back to Your Reality

The enemy’s loudest attack is in the in-between.

Answer him: “It doesn't look like it now, but God said. And what He said is more true than what I see.”

C. Stay in the Cave Without Building a Tent of Despair

David stayed hidden, but he never lost hope.

Do not settle where God only asked you to pass through.The wilderness is a classroom, not a prison.

D. Guard Against Bitterness, Sarcasm, and Spiritual Amnesia

Sometimes, the opposite season is so painful, we begin mocking what we once believed. Be careful. Bitterness makes you forget the God you once danced for.

Prophetic Reminders for You

1. He didn’t lie. Heaven is not confused. God is not cruel.

2. This wilderness is part of the prophecy.

3. Your obedience is not a waste it's a weapon.

4. You are not behind schedule you are right on time for transformation.

And yes The opposite is proof that what you carry is real. The fight intensifies around heavy callings.

So What Is the Waiting Room, Really?

The Waiting Room is not just about time.

It’s about what God is building in you while time is passing. It’s where He lets life strip away pride, performance, and people-pleasing.

It’s where He turns you from gifted to grounded, from loud to laden with depth.

Challenge for the Week:

• Revisit the original promise write it out again.

• List all the contradictions you’re facing. Lay them before God.

• Pray over each contradiction with scripture not your emotions.

• Ask the Holy Spirit to show you what He’s developing in you, not just for you.

• Fast one day this week to silence every lying voice around what God said.

Final Note to your Soul:

The promise still stands. Even if you're walking backwards God’s still leading. Even if you're crawling heaven still calls you forward. Even if everything is breaking God is still building.You will not die in this contradiction. You will live to see the dream and say, “He did exactly what He said.”

So, here we are.

Five weeks later, we have talked about the altar, what belongs on it, what can pollute it, what happens when it is neglected, and what it takes to rebuild it.

We have gone from the foundation to the fire.

after all of this, the question is no longer, “Where is your altar?”

You already know. The real question is:

What will you do with the fire?

Because it is possible to read all five parts of this series, nod at every point, underline the Scriptures, share the posts, say “Amen,” and still leave the altar untouched.

And that would be the tragedy.

The purpose of an altar is not to make us knowledgeable about sacrifice. It is to make us a sacrifice.

We started here: Every man has an altar.

Whether you consciously build one or not, your life is always giving itself to something.

Your time.

Your attention.

Your desires.

Your money.

Your body.

Your loyalty.

Your worship.

Something is always receiving the best of you.

That was where we began.

Because the altar is not simply a physical place where you kneel.

It is the place where your life answers the question: Who is God to you?

the answer is not found primarily in what you say. It is found in what you consistently surrender.

We talked about Noah.

Abraham.

Jacob.

Elijah.

Men who understood that encounters with God had to become more than moments. They had to become markers.

They built.

They sacrificed.

They surrendered.

They remembered.

And they left something behind.

an altar is never just about the man standing before God today. It is also about the people who will meet God through the evidence of how that man lived. That is legacy.

Then we asked: What is on your altar?

And this one is still sitting with me.

Because we often ask God for fire without asking whether there is anything on the altar worth burning.

We want the fire.

We want the evidence.

We want the authority.

We want the power.

We want the results.

But the altar asks a different question:

What are you willing to lay down?

Your body.

Your worship.

Your obedience.

Your prayers.

Your faith.

Your convenience.

Your plans.

Your right to always have your way.

Your secret places.

Your “but God, I want this.”

Your Isaac.

Because surrender sounds beautiful until God asks for something you actually wanted to keep.

The altar is where negotiation ends.

It is where “Lord, I will obey if” becomes simply: “Yes, Lord.”

that is why the fire feels expensive. Because it is.

Then we had to talk about pollution.

This may have been the most uncomfortable part.

Because a broken altar is easy to identify.

A polluted altar is not.

A man can still pray.

Still attend church.

Still lift his hands.

Still preach.

Still sing.

Still quote Scripture.

Still look perfectly fine.

And yet something has entered the altar that God never asked for.

Bitterness.

Pride.

Lust.

Disobedience.

Unforgiveness.

Double-mindedness.

Self-righteousness.

Things we learned to hide so well that eventually we forgot they were there.

But God does not judge the altar by its appearance.

He sees what is burning on it.

And this is why cleansing matters.

Because you cannot keep adding holy things to an altar that God is asking you to empty.

the next move of God in your life is not another blessing.

Sometimes it is a sweeping.

A cleansing.

A confession.

A surrender.

A return.

Sometimes God is not asking you to build something new. He is asking you to remove what should never have been there

And then came the rebuilding.

this is where the story becomes beautiful.

Because God does not discard every broken altar.

Sometimes He calls you back to rebuild.

That means there is hope for the man who knows he neglected his altar.

Hope for the man who became distracted.

Hope for the man who allowed the fire to become low.

Hope for the man who knows that what he once carried with purity became mixed with things it should never have carried.

Hope for the man who fell.

Rebuild.

Not cosmetically.

Not emotionally.

Not because you suddenly feel inspired.

Rebuild according to God’s pattern.

Acknowledge the ruin.

Repent.

Cleanse.

Return to the Word.

Return to prayer.

Return to obedience.

Return to covenant.

And then wait for the fire.

Because you cannot manufacture God’s fire.

You can prepare the altar.

You can lay down the sacrifice.

You can make room.

But God sends the fire.

Elijah rebuilt the altar before the fire fell.

That order matters.

But here is where I want us to end.

Don’t just rebuild the altar. Fan the flame.

Because fire requires tending. A fire that was burning yesterday still needs wood today.

Yesterday’s encounter cannot sustain today’s obedience.

Yesterday’s prayer cannot replace today’s fellowship.

Yesterday’s sacrifice cannot become today’s excuse.

Yesterday’s testimony cannot become today’s relationship with God.

The fire must be tended.

Again.

And again.

And again.

Paul told Timothy:

“Stir up the gift of God, which is in thee”

— 2 Timothy 1:6

There are things God has placed in you that cannot be treated casually.

There are convictions you cannot afford to abandon.

There are disciplines you cannot afford to call unnecessary.

There are places with God you cannot keep visiting only when life becomes difficult.

Fan the flame.

Pray when you don’t feel spiritual.

Open the Word when your mind is wandering.

Worship when the answer has not come.

Obey when nobody is watching.

Forgive when your flesh wants justice.

Give when holding back feels safer.

Be quiet when pride wants to explain itself.

Return quickly when you notice yourself drifting.

Guard the fire.

Not because God has become difficult to reach.

But because you have become responsible for what He has entrusted to you.

And please, don’t confuse fire with noise.

A burning altar does not always look spectacular.

Sometimes fire looks like a man quietly choosing integrity.

Sometimes it looks like the decision nobody applauds.

Sometimes it looks like waking up early to pray when nobody knows.

Sometimes it looks like refusing what everyone else says is normal.

Sometimes it looks like choosing obedience over opportunity.

Sometimes it looks like going back to apologise.

Sometimes it looks like saying no.

Sometimes it looks like staying.

Sometimes it looks like leaving.

Sometimes it looks like surrendering something you have spent years building.

The fire does not always make noise.

But it always changes what it touches.

this is the greatest evidence that your altar is burning: You are becoming different.

Not louder.

Not more impressive.

Not more religious.

Different.

Your character changes.

Your appetites change.

Your decisions change.

Your relationships change.

Your priorities change.

Your response to correction changes.

Your response to temptation changes.

Your response to disappointment changes.

Your private life begins to resemble your public confession.

a real encounter with God cannot leave a man exactly where it found him.

The fire burns. And whatever is not God begins to lose its hold.

So, Dear Friend, this is where I leave you.

Not with another checklist.

Not with another instruction.

But with an invitation.

Go back to your altar.

Look at it.

Really look.

What is there?

What is missing?

What needs to be removed?

What needs to be rebuilt?

What have you stopped offering?

What have you allowed to go cold?

What have you been calling “a season” that God has been calling you to confront?

And then fan the flame.

Not for applause.

Not for a title.

Not for spiritual aesthetics.

Not so people can call you deep.

Fan it because God is worthy.

Fan it because there are things attached to your obedience.

Fan it because your children may one day search your life for evidence that God is real.

Fan it because somebody coming behind you may need to know what walking with God looks like.

Fan it because your generation needs men whose private altars can carry the weight of their public assignments.

Fan it because the world does not need more men who know how to stand on platforms.

It needs men who know how to kneel at altars.

Five weeks ago, we asked:

Where is your altar?

Today, I think we know the answer.

The altar is here.

It is in the secret place.

It is in your decisions.

It is in your surrender.

It is in your obedience.

It is in the parts of your life nobody sees.

And the fire?

The fire is your responsibility to tend.

So when the wood gets low add more.

When the flame gets weak fan it.

When the altar gets polluted clean it.

When it falls rebuild it.

When God speaks obey.

And when the fire falls again don’t waste it.

Carry it. Guard it. Live by it.

Let it burn through you until your life becomes the evidence of what happens when a man gives himself completely to God.

This series may be ending.

But the altar is not.

The fire is not.

And neither is the work.

Fan the flame.

Keep burning.

Keep surrendering.

Keep walking with God.

And may the next generation find a fire burning because we refused to let ours go out.

The altar must burn. And so must you.

A consecrated altar is not a decorative piece in the spiritual life of a man. It is not a background detail.

It is the whole stage. And when a man lives with a consecrated altar, he becomes more than a moment in history he becomes a channel of God’s movement in generations.

The power of a consecrated altar is not merely in what happens at the altar, but in who the man becomes because of the altar. He becomes fire-tested. Legacy-marked. Eternity-conscious. Generationally relevant.

This week is a call to serious men men who are ready to build something eternal. To leave behind an inheritance of fire. To become an altar that speaks when their lips can no longer move.

1. What is a Consecrated Altar?

To consecrate means to set apart, to dedicate, to purify. A consecrated altar is one that is owned by God, protected by man, and serviced by sacrifice. It is not a public showground; it is a private covenant space.

It is where:

• Heaven finds rest on earth.

• Sacrifices ascend continually.

• God speaks, directs, corrects, reveals, and rests.

• It is where a man does not merely talk about God, but walks with Him.

Romans 12:1 (MSG): “Take your everyday, ordinary life your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life and place it before God as an offering.”

This is your altar. This is consecration.

2. The Power a Consecrated Altar Carries

A consecrated altar becomes a throne room in the spirit.

Here’s what it births:

Perpetual Access to God: A consecrated altar ensures God doesn’t just visit He dwells. When the fire is maintained, access is never denied Exodus 29:42–46: “There I will meet with the people. I will dwell among them and be their God.”

Avenue for Divine Instructions: A consecrated altar is where strategies for battle, business, and legacy are born.

Genesis 22: Abraham didn’t kill Isaac out of assumption he received clear instructions because he had an altar of communion.

A Platform for Generational Blessings: Your altar is your children's foundation. Your consistency becomes their inheritance. Your consecration becomes their compass.

Genesis 26:24–25: Isaac reaped blessings because Abraham had walked with God and built altars. Isaac’s altar was built on the memory of his father’s obedience.

Divine Fire that Endures Beyond Emotion

Some people burn when the atmosphere is right. But men with consecrated altars burn when no one is clapping, watching, or checking in.

Leviticus 6:12-13: “The fire must be kept burning on the altar continuously; it must not go out.”

3. Signs Your Altar is Consecrated

• Consistency: You no longer need hype to show up in prayer.

• Reverence: You don’t treat God like an option. You fear Him. You honor Him.

• Sensitivity: God can interrupt your schedule and you obey, immediately.

• Sacrifice: You give what costs you. Comfort is no longer your idol.

• Fruit: You don’t just feel God you reflect Him. Love, discipline, wisdom, integrity all start to show.

4. Legacy: What Does a Consecrated Altar Leave Behind?

A man who walks with God leaves behind more than memories he leaves monuments. His altar becomes a witness to heaven and earth. It becomes a well others draw from.

1. Your prayer life becomes a safe haven for others.

2. Your obedience births opportunities for generations you may never meet.

3. Your lifestyle becomes an intercession in itself.

Hebrews 11:4 (NLT): “Abel brought a more acceptable offering... and although he is long dead, he still speaks to us by his example of faith.”

Legacy is not loud it’s lasting. It’s not trendy it’s eternal. It’s not in your voice it’s in your fire.

5. What it Takes to Maintain It

• Intentional time with God (Luke 5:16)

• Guarding your gates (Psalm 101:3)

• Community that fans the flame (2 Timothy 1:6)

• Accountability that checks the drift (Hebrews 3:13)

• Returning when you feel far (Genesis 35:1-3)

Who Will Kneel at Your Altar?

Think long-term. Think legacy.Who will benefit from your fire? Will your children know how to build altars because they watched you kneel? Will your workplace recognize God because your altar overflowed into your integrity?

Will your name be associated with obedience or excuses? Your altar is your seed. What it produces will live long after you.

The greatest thing you’ll ever pass down may not be money. It may be memory memory of fire. Memory of prayer. Memory of consistency.

If your altar burns again, your life will never be ordinary again. Don’t let the fire die. Let your altar speak. Let your altar live. Let your altar become your legacy.

There’s something deeply spiritual about rebuilding.

It’s not just about picking up stones and lighting fire again. It’s about recognizing ruin, acknowledging responsibility, and partnering with heaven to restore what you once carried with power, purity, and precision.

This week is for those who can admit, "My altar was polluted," and now ask, “Lord, how do I rebuild what I have broken, neglected, or defiled?”

Rebuilding is not a lesser calling it is a divine invitation to reconsecrate, rededicate, and reclaim what hell thought it had permanently vandalized.

Why Altars Need Rebuilding

Sometimes altars fall because of negligence seasons of spiritual dryness, laziness, or distraction. Other times, altars are broken by sin, disobedience, deep offense, or prolonged grief. But most dangerously, some altars stand physically but are broken spiritually because what was once built for communion has now become a shrine to ego, fear, or religion.

When Elijah confronted Israel’s apostasy in 1 Kings 18:30, the first thing he did before calling down fire was this:

“He repaired the altar of the Lord that had been torn down.” Before fire can fall again, altars must be rebuilt.

Step-by-Step Guide to Rebuilding a Polluted or Broken Altar:

1. Acknowledge the Ruin

Like Nehemiah who first inspected Jerusalem’s broken walls at night (Nehemiah 2:13), you must first face the ruins of your altar. Not emotionally. Spiritually. Introspectively.

• Where did the fire go out?

• What habits crept in unnoticed?

• What excuses did I spiritualize?

• What idols have I served in secret?

You cannot rebuild what you refuse to admit is broken.

Psalm 51:17 “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.”

2. Repentance and Cleansing

Don’t just say sorry. Rend your heart. Don’t mop up the stain scrub with truth.

2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways”

Cleansing isn’t just about forgiveness; it’s about alignment. Your heart must be washed. Your mindset must be renewed.

Psalm 24:3–4 Who shall ascend? He that has clean hands and a pure heart.

This is the stage where heaven becomes active in your rebuilding. Because now, you are not just asking for grace you are positioning for divine restoration.

3. Rebuild With Divine Pattern Not Emotion

Elijah didn’t rebuild the altar anyhow. He used twelve stones, representing the twelve tribes reminding Israel of covenant and structure (1 Kings 18:31). Do not rebuild based on how you feel. Rebuild based on how God instructs.

Return to your spiritual disciplines:

• Set times of prayer (Daniel 6:10)

• Recommit to the Word (Psalm 119:11)

• Practice daily sacrifice of worship and thanksgiving (Hebrews 13:15)

• Revisit obedience not selectively, but completely.

• The altar is not a vibe. It is a divine pattern. Follow it.

4. Re-establish Covenant

An altar is not complete without covenant.

What promises have you broken to God? What vows did you make in tears and abandon in ease? What sacred assignments did you downplay?

Now is the time to renew covenant. Speak it out loud. Write it in your journal. Carve it again on the tablet of your heart.

Ecclesiastes 5:4–6 “When you make a vow to God, do not delay in fulfilling it”

Romans 12:1 Present your body a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable.

The rebuilt altar becomes sacred ground again where you and God meet in clarity and consistency.

5. Invite Fire Again

Now that the altar is rebuilt and the sacrifice is in place, cry for fire.

You cannot manufacture divine fire. You can only prepare for it. You can only make your altar worthy of it. When Elijah had done all, then he prayed:

1 Kings 18:36-38 “Let it be known that You are God… Answer me, Lord, answer me, so these people will know that You, Lord, are God, and that You are turning their hearts back again…”

And then the fire of the Lord fell.

When the altar is rightly restored, the fire doesn’t delay.

What Rebuilding Produces:

• Fresh Fire not hyped energy, but divine response.

• Heavenly Alignment your spiritual senses are sharp again.

• Authority Returns you speak, and it carries weight again.

• Angels Move Again for altars attract heavenly traffic.

• Fruitfulness and Favor the drought breaks when the altar is repaired (1 Kings 18:45).

Picture this:

God is not calling you to renovate your altar with cosmetics. He’s calling you to restore it with covenant and consecration.

This rebuilding season may feel private, obscure, even painful but when fire falls, everyone will know who your God is.

Too many destinies are stuck because their altars are dysfunctional. But God is not done with you. If your altar fell, rebuild it. If your fire faded, rekindle it. If your walk was polluted, let it be purified.

You are not disqualified you are being recalibrated. And when fire falls again, it won’t just be for personal glory. It will be for national revival, family alignment, and generational breakthrough.

The altar must be rebuilt. The fire must fall again. And your life must become a living proof that God still answers by fire.

Let’s not lie to ourselves sometimes, it’s not that the altar is broken. It’s still standing. You still pray. You still fast. You still lift your hands in worship. You’re still active in church. But something is off. The atmosphere is strange. The fire is low. Heaven feels distant. You do all the right things, but the altar smells of something foul. That’s pollution.

And this week, we must confront it not just in theory, but in truth, in grit, in tears if necessary.

What is a Polluted Altar?

A polluted altar is not always dramatic it’s not always idolatry with loud horns or sin with flashing lights. Sometimes, it’s pride that crept in through answered prayers. It’s unforgiveness you refused to address. It’s dishonor in your heart masked with soft speech. It’s a divided loyalty when your heart bows to the world, even as your mouth calls on God.

God does not just respond to physical sacrifice He responds to purity and posture. In Leviticus 10:1–2, Nadab and Abihu brought “strange fire” before God and were consumed. Why? Because you cannot burn what God has not approved and call it worship.

Pollution is not just what is on your altar, but how it got there, and why it’s there.

Common Pollutants on a Man’s Altar:

1. Bitterness Hebrews 12:15 warns us that bitterness defiles many. A bitter man cannot host a clean altar.
   

2. Pride and Self-Righteousness Luke 18:11–14 shows us a Pharisee who prayed, but his pride polluted the prayer. The tax collector, broken and humble, went home justified.
   

3. Double-mindedness James 1:8 tells us that a double-minded man is unstable. How do you expect a stable altar from unstable convictions?
   

4. Carnality and Lust Romans 8:7 reminds us that the carnal mind is enmity against God. You cannot burn holy incense on an altar drenched in lust.
   

5. Disobedience Like King Saul in 1 Samuel 15, disobedience is a pollutant. Saul sacrificed, yes. But he disobeyed God’s clear instruction, and that sacrifice became an abomination.
   
   

How Does a Polluted Altar Affect You?

• Your prayers become heavy not just because God isn’t listening, but because you can’t find flow.
  

• You start performing worship becomes routine, not relationship.
  

• Discernment dims you struggle to hear clearly.
  

• You attract flies Ecclesiastes 10:1 says, “Dead flies make the perfumer’s ointment give off a stench.” Demonic interference becomes more active where there is spiritual decay.
  

• You become comfortable with dull fire and that is the most dangerous part. Lukewarmness becomes normal. And you forget what it felt like when your altar burned pure and bright.
  

So you need to know that,

You can’t trick God with a clean-looking altar while your heart remains a landfill. Fire doesn’t fall on plastic sacrifices.

This week, don’t justify what God is confronting. Don’t package your pollution and call it a season. If the altar is polluted, it must be addressed quickly. Because polluted altars produce polluted lives. And polluted lives lose divine patterns.

This month is too pivotal for passive repentance.

It’s time to sweep the altar. It’s time to name the pollutants. It’s time to take down what God never asked you to raise. This isn’t about emotional guilt it’s about spiritual accuracy.

You were never called to offer strange fire. You were called to offer a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable (Romans 12:1). And heaven is still watching, still weighing, still waiting for clean altars.

Let’s not offer what He did not request.

Let’s not present what heaven must reject.

Let’s burn again pure, clean, and without mixture.

There is a prophecy over you. Yes, you. There is something God has spoken concerning your life.

Maybe you heard it directly from Him. Maybe it came through Scripture. Maybe someone prayed over you and said something that entered your spirit and refused to leave. Maybe you have carried a particular word for years, and even when you stopped talking about it, somewhere inside you, you knew God had said something.

There is something. A promise.

An assignment.

A calling.

A place.

A people.

A version of you that has not yet appeared.

And I know how we can be with these things.

Once God says something beautiful about our future, we want to run with it.

“God said!”

Amen!

Hallelujah!

But nobody told us that between “God said” and “it happened” there is usually a whole lot of becoming.

And this is where I want to talk to you.

There is a prophecy over you, but you can only birth it through intimacy.

Not excitement.

Not Instagram declarations.

Not collecting prophetic words like souvenirs.

Intimacy.

Knowing God.

Walking with Him.

Hearing Him.

Obeying Him.

Staying close enough to know when He is speaking and staying close enough to know when He is not.

You see sometimes, we become so fascinated with what God wants to do through us that we forget that He first wants to do something in us.

That is where many of us get into trouble.

We want the manifestation.

God wants the formation.

We want the platform.

God wants the process.

We want the testimony.

God wants the transformation.

And those two things are not always the same journey.

The prophecy is not the process

We love prophecy.

Of course we do.

Who doesn’t want to hear, “You will be great”?

Who doesn’t want to hear, “God is going to use you mightily”?

Who doesn’t want to hear, “You will influence nations”?

Please, tell me again.

But have you noticed that prophecy usually tells you the beautiful part?

Nobody says:

“You will be great, but first I will take you through a season where nobody knows your name.”

“You will lead people, but first I will teach you how to follow.”

“You will have influence, but first I will deal with your need for validation.”

“You will carry people, but first I will teach you how to stop making everything about yourself.”

“You will build something significant, but first I will teach you how to build without making the thing you build your identity.”

That part is not usually as exciting.

But it is necessary.

Look at David.

David was anointed king in 1 Samuel 16.

Oil was poured on his head.

The future had been announced.

The word had been spoken.

And then what happened?

He went back to the sheep.

Imagine.

You have just been told you are going to be king and your next assignment is

“Please go and look after the sheep.”

If it were some of us, we would be asking God for confirmation by 6 p.m.

“Lord, are You sure Samuel said me?”

But David went back to the field.

And something happened there.

He learnt to worship when nobody was watching.

He learnt courage.

He learnt responsibility.

He learnt how to fight.

He learnt how to trust God.

The palace needed a king, but God needed to form one first.

The prophecy announced David’s future. The process prepared David to carry it.

And that is what intimacy does.

God does not just give you a promise. He prepares you to carry it.

Let’s talk about Mary.

An angel appears and gives this young woman a word that would change the course of human history.

“And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name JESUS.”Luke 1:31

Mary had just received a prophecy.

A big one.

A life-changing one.

A history-changing one.

But look at her response.

“Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” Luke 1:38

Let it be to me according to Your word.

Not, “But how will I explain this to people?”

Not, “What will Joseph say?”

Not, “Can You make this easier?”

She yielded.

She became a carrier.

And that word stayed with me.

A prophecy is spoken, but it has to be carried.

There is a difference between hearing a word and having the capacity to carry the word.

And intimacy builds that capacity.

God doesn’t only tell you what He wants to do.

He teaches you how to carry what He wants to do.

Sometimes the word says, “You will lead.”

But intimacy teaches you humility.

Sometimes the word says, “You will have influence.”

But intimacy teaches you what to do when nobody is paying attention.

Sometimes the word says, “You will build.”

But intimacy teaches you how not to worship what you build.

Sometimes the word says, “You will speak.”

But intimacy teaches you how to listen.

Sometimes the word says, “You will be a blessing to many.”

But intimacy teaches you how to remain a blessing when you are tired, disappointed, misunderstood and nobody is saying thank you.

The prophecy tells you what may be coming. Intimacy prepares you for what it will cost to carry it.

You cannot birth what you refuse to carry

Think about pregnancy.

There is a reason God designed it the way He did.

You don’t see everything happening.

You don’t wake up every morning and see the baby’s development with your physical eyes.

But something is happening.

Quietly.

Secretly.

Deeply.

And then one day, what was hidden becomes visible.

I think some seasons with God are like that.

You received the word.

You prayed.

You believed.

And now?

Nothing seems to be happening.

Or at least, nothing you can see.

But the invisible is something ?

God is developing something in you that cannot yet be seen?

the hidden season is not punishment?

it is preparation?

the reason God keeps calling you into the secret place is because something needs to grow there before it can be seen out here?

Because some things cannot be birthed publicly when they were never developed privately.

And intimacy is where some of those things grow.

Prayer.

The Word.

Worship.

Obedience.

Surrender.

Repentance.

Waiting.

Being corrected.

Learning His voice.

Learning His ways.

Letting God deal with you.

Not everybody will understand that season.

Some people will think you are doing nothing.

You may even think you are doing nothing.

But God is doing the deepest work He has ever done in you.

And yes, it can be uncomfortable.

Pregnancy is beautiful, but please, nobody should tell me pregnancy is comfortable.

You can be carrying something precious and still be tired.

You can love what you are carrying and still want the process to hurry up.

You can know that something beautiful is happening and still say, “Lord, abeg.”

But the discomfort doesn’t mean nothing is happening.

Sometimes the discomfort is evidence that something is growing.

Intimacy teaches you what prophecy doesn’t tell you

A prophetic word can tell you what.

Intimacy teaches you how. this is why you cannot afford to abandon the secret place because you have received a word.

God tells you that you will lead people.

Intimacy teaches you how to love people.

He tells you that you will have influence.

Intimacy teaches you how not to become drunk on influence.

He tells you that you will have money.

Intimacy teaches you stewardship.

He tells you that you will preach.

Intimacy teaches you what to do when there is nobody to preach to.

He tells you that you will build.

Intimacy teaches you how to build without making the building your god.

He tells you that you will be married.

Intimacy teaches you how to become the kind of person who can love, serve, communicate, forgive and grow with another human being.

Do you see it?

The prophecy tells you where you are going. Intimacy prepares you for who you have to become when you get there.

this is why I am careful about people who are obsessed with prophecy but have no appetite for God’s presence. Because what exactly are we chasing? The word? Or the God who spoke it?

Don’t become more interested in the prophecy than the Prophet

This one is important.

Because it is very easy to become obsessed with what God said and forget God Himself.

What is my calling?

What is my next season?

What is God about to do?

Who am I going to become?

What is my destiny?

When will it happen?

Who is my spouse?

When will the business take off?

When will the ministry grow?

When will I finally be seen?

And God is there like:

“My child, come and sit with Me.”

Sometimes we want information when God wants relationship.

We want the blueprint.

He wants us to know Him.

We want the next five years.

He gives us grace for today.

We want to know what happens next.

He says, “Follow Me.”

And following Him requires intimacy because you cannot follow someone whose voice you don’t recognise.

Jesus said:

“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” John 10:27

There is a relationship in that Scripture.

They hear.

He knows.

They follow.

This is not just about prophecy.

It is about relationship.

when you know God, you don’t need to panic every time the road changes.

You may not know where He is taking you, but you know who is leading you.

And that is enough.

There will be a season when the word is tested

One of the hardest places to live is between:

“God said.”

and

“I don’t see it.”

Joseph knew the dream.

Then came the pit.

Then slavery.

Then prison.

The dream said one thing.

His circumstances said another.

I wonder if Joseph ever had moments where he thought, “Lord, what exactly is happening here?”

Because sometimes the process will look completely opposite to the promise.

But the prison did not cancel the dream.

It was part of the journey to it.

And this is why intimacy matters.

Because there will be moments when your circumstances will argue with the word God gave you.

And in those moments, you need more than a screenshot of a prophetic word.

You need relationship.

You need to know His character.

You need to remember who He is.

You need to be able to say:

“I don’t understand this, but I know God.”

That is a different kind of faith.

It is easy to believe God when everything is looking like the prophecy.

The real test is whether you can trust Him when the road looks nothing like what He said.

God keeps calling you closer because something is growing

the reason God keeps pulling you back into prayer is not because He has forgotten the prophecy.He is preparing you to carry it.

the reason He keeps asking you to study His Word is not because He wants you to collect more Bible verses. He is putting His Word inside you because you will need it later.

the reason some doors keep closing is not because you are forgotten. God knows you are not ready for what is behind them.

the reason your journey looks slower than everybody else’s is because God is doing a deeper work.

Maybe you keep asking:

“When will it happen?”

And God keeps answering: “Come closer.”

Come closer.

Come closer.

Come closer.

There are things you will only learn in His presence.

There is discernment that cannot be downloaded.

There is character that cannot be faked.

There is wisdom that only comes from walking with God through situations you did not understand.

There is strength that comes from surviving seasons you thought would destroy you.

There is a depth that only comes when you have had to choose God without the emotional high.

And there are some things you will never learn from the prophecy.

You learn them by walking with the Prophet.

So, what are you carrying?

I want you to think about this.

Not just: “What did God promise me?”

But: “What am I carrying?”

And then:

“Am I close enough to God to carry it well?”

your greatest need right now is not another word.

you need intimacy.

you need to return to the secret place.

you need to stop trying to figure out the entire future and simply obey God today.

you need to open your Bible again not because you need another promise to hold on to, but because you want to know the God behind every promise.

you need to pray without an agenda.

No long list.

No demands.

No “Lord, give me this.”

Just:

“Lord, I am here.”

There is something beautiful about that prayer. Because intimacy changes how you carry prophecy.

You stop carrying it with anxiety.

You stop comparing your journey with everybody else’s.

You stop forcing doors.

You stop trying to make God perform on your timeline.

You learn to carry the word with surrender.

And when the time comes, you may look back and realise something.

God was not only preparing the promise.

He was preparing you.

So yes.

There is a prophecy over you.

There is a word.

There is an assignment.

There is something heaven has spoken concerning your life.

But my dear friend, don’t become so fascinated with the promise that you neglect the Presence.

Stay close.

Stay in the Word.

Stay in prayer.

Stay yielded.

Stay teachable.

Stay obedient.

Stay hidden when He says hide.

Move when He says move.

Wait when He says wait.

And when you don’t know what to do, don’t panic.

Stay close enough to hear the next instruction.

Because the goal was never simply to give you a prophecy. The goal is to form Christ in you.

one day, when you look back at everything God said and everything He did, you will realise that the prophecy was never the greatest gift.

Knowing Him was. somehow, in knowing Him, you became ready to carry everything He had spoken over you.

“The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out.” — Leviticus 6:13 (KJV)

Last week, we asked a foundational question what is the altar of a man? This week, we go deeper. Because it’s one thing to know what an altar is, and another to understand what it must carry.

Truth is: heaven responds to altars, but not empty ones. If you are trusting God for fire, ask yourself what have you placed on the altar? Is there sacrifice? Is there prayer? Or is the altar just... decorated with performance and empty routine?

A burning altar is not just for preachers or church workers. It is for anyone who wants to live a life that hosts God continually in thought, in posture, in decisions. A man’s altar is his daily declaration that “I am not my own.”

This week, we’ll explore what your altar should carry, how to keep it burning when you feel dry, and the tools that keep the flame alive even in harsh seasons. There will be no shallow truths here only the kind that calls you higher, deeper, and back to the sacred.

this month is not just pivotal it is prophetic. Something must shift. The kind of man you are becoming depends on the consistency of the fire on your altar.

Let’s stoke the flames.

The Altar is Not Empty by Default:

Let’s begin with this thought: an altar is never neutral. It is either carrying a sacrifice that pleases God or is silently occupied by distractions, idols, and excuses. When God instructed that the altar must never lack fire, He wasn’t just talking about ceremonial flames He was speaking of a spiritual consistency, an inner commitment, a sacred rhythm.

Many of us want God to send down fire, but what are we placing on the altar? You can’t expect fire from heaven when your altar is full of carnality, laziness, and disobedience. If there’s no offering, there’s no fire.

1. What Should Be on the Altar?

A. Your Body Romans 12:1

“I beseech you therefore, brethren that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God”

Your altar starts with surrendering your very self your body, your habits, your time, your desires. It’s not enough to say “God, use me.” Your availability must be real. Daily. Tangible. And it must cost you something.

The altar is where you stop negotiating with God about your will. You place yourself there and say, “Even when it’s not convenient, I’m yours.”

B. Your Worship Hebrews 13:15

“By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually.”

Worship isn’t a Sunday routine. It is a lifestyle. True worship is sacrificial praising when life is hard, when you don’t understand, when it hurts. The man whose altar is alive worships consistently. He doesn’t need perfect conditions to lift his hands.Real altars sing in the wilderness.

C. Your Obedience 1 Samuel 15:22

“To obey is better than sacrifice.”

The altar God honors is one covered in obedience. You can fast for 40 days and still be a stranger to His presence if disobedience is your pattern. The altar thrives when submission is your posture.

D. Your Prayers Revelation 5:8

“golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.”

Prayer is not just communication; it is incense. When a man stops praying, his altar begins to grow cold. Prayer keeps your spirit sensitive and aligned with God’s heart. Don’t wait until you feel like it. Pray consistently. A man without prayer is like an altar without firewood.

E. Your Faith — Hebrews 11:4

“By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice.”

Faith must be present on your altar. When you come before God, you come believing He sees, He knows, and He rewards. Faith sustains your altar even when nothing around you looks like the promise.

2. How to Keep the Fire Burning

• Daily Fellowship with God (Psalm 5:3) Make room for God intentionally. Don’t squeeze Him into your schedule; build your schedule around Him.

• Consistent Sacrifice (Leviticus 6:12) A sacrifice that costs nothing changes nothing.

• Guard Your Heart (Proverbs 4:23) The enemy seeks to pollute your altar through bitterness, lust, pride, and complacency.

• Accountability and Community (Proverbs 27:17) Iron sharpens iron. Surround yourself with people who fuel your altar, not those who blow out your flames.
  

3. Spiritual Accessories for a Burning Altar

Just like the tabernacle had tools for maintenance, so should the believer:

• The Word (your sword and mirror)

• Fasting (a flame intensifier)

• Consecration (set apart to stay ablaze)

• Silence & Solitude (to hear God clearly)

• Spiritual Discernment (to identify strange fire)
  

These are not decorations. They are essentials. Keep them close.

This month is not ordinary. It is pivotal. Heaven is watching for the men and women whose altars are lit whose lives are laid down in full surrender, not just lip service.

Don’t wait for a conference to stir your flame. Don’t wait for a tragedy to remind you to pray. Build your altar now. Stock it well. Keep it burning.

Your altar is your lifeline. When it’s neglected, everything else unravels. When it’s alive, your spirit becomes unshakable. May your altar testify that a man walks with God here daily, sacrificially, and intentionally.

Let fire fall because your altar is ready.

Another month another Happy new month, welcome to August my friend, may this new month be everything the last seven months was not. And you know stay comes with a new month, a new topic to read and learn from, i pray you àrẹ blessed reading this as much as I was writing it.

Let’s start here, fam every man has an altar, whether he knows it or not. The question is: what altar are you raising and to whom? In a world where men are taught to build platforms but not altars, where strength is shaped by metrics not encounters, God is calling His sons and daughters back, back to the beginning, where men walked with Him before they walked before crowds.And if you do not build an altar to God, by default, you are offering yourself on another one that serves ego, money, fear, pleasure, pride, performance, or people.

Altars are not outdated relics or cultural tokens. They are the spiritual technology by which heaven interacts with earth. They are meeting points, memorial stones, and battlegrounds. When a man rises in the Spirit, we don’t ask how many sermons he’s preached. We ask: what is the state of his altar?

This isn’t about a wooden structure in your room or some dramatic set-up on a mountain. This is about the spiritual table you’ve set for communion or compromise. Whether it’s the altar of ego, fear, bitterness, money, lust, or control the smoke from your altar is rising. And it speaks.

The Altar Defined:

An altar is a sacred meeting place between God and man a place of sacrifice, surrender, and sustained encounter. In Scripture, altars were built to commemorate God’s move, invite His presence, or mark covenant moments. Noah built an altar after the flood (Genesis 8:20), Abraham built one when God called him (Genesis 12:7), and Elijah rebuilt one when fire needed to fall (1 Kings 18:30).

In every generation, men who built altars were men who hosted God.

Altars are: The altar is where a man dies daily to live for God perpetually.

• Fire falls

• Surrender is tested

• Exchange is made

• Patterns are established

• Battles are won

• And men are made

Why Is an Altar Important?

Altars establish spiritual authority. If you want to walk in authority, you must kneel in intimacy. A man without an altar is a man without alignment.

Altars are the foundations of legacy.

Isaac encountered God at the altar Abraham built. Your altar isn’t just for you it is for your children’s children. What altars will they find when they search for God in your life?

Altars are gates.

They are legal entry points for divine help or demonic intrusion depending on what you are sacrificing. Some of us have left our altars broken and our lives open. Silence at the altar is not stillness; it is neglect.

Altars determine fire.

No altar, no fire. No fire, no distinction. It is not charisma that separates you; it is the quality of your altar.

WHY DOES A MAN NEED AN ALTAR?

1. For Divine Communion To Hear and Host God :You don’t find direction on stages; you find it on altars. Every true man of God is first a man of the altar.

Genesis 12:7 “The Lord appeared to Abram and said, ‘To your offspring I will give this land.’ So he built an altar”

When God speaks, men build altars. When men stop building altars, confusion becomes their portion.

2. For Sacrifice To Give God What He Deserves :Altars are not emotional centers. They are decision points. You bring your Isaac here. You die to your will here.

Romans 12:1 “Present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.” No altar? No fire. No sacrifice? No transformation.

3. For Covenant To Seal Spiritual Transactions

Many men are fighting battles because covenants were made on ungodly altars knowingly or not. To build a godly altar is to align your life with the government of heaven.

Genesis 28:18–19 Jacob marked his encounter with God by setting up an altar with a stone and oil. That altar changed his identity forever.

4. For Warfare To Legally Confront Oppression

Before Elijah called fire down, he rebuilt the altar (1 Kings 18:30). That wasn't drama it was legal ground. The battle wasn’t on Mount Carmel; it was in the spirit.

Psalm 20:2-3 “May He remember all your offerings and accept your burnt sacrifice!”

Your altar fights for you when your words fail.

ALTARS AND THEIR BUILDERS: CASE STUDIES

Noah’s Altar: Genesis 8:20–21

1. Noah didn’t plant vineyards first. He built an altar. That altar moved God to make a covenant with the earth a promise still upheld today.

2. Abraham’s Altar: Genesis 22:9

Abraham’s legacy wasn’t built on vision alone. It was sustained by what he was willing to put on the altar.

3. Jacob’s Altar: Genesis 28:18–22

One night of divine encounter became a life of altered identity because Jacob marked it with an altar.

4. Elijah’s Altar: 1 Kings 18:30–39

Before revival fire could fall, he rebuilt the broken altar. Many want the fire, but God is waiting for us to fix the structure.

ALTAR vs PLATFORM vs PERFORMANCE

• Platform is where people see you. While Altar is where God sees you.

• Performance is what they applaud. While Altar is what heaven weighs.

Don't be a man known on earth but invisible in the spirit. Altars don’t trend, but they shift seasons.

This isn’t just a month of teaching it is a divine appointment.God is calling men back to the place of the altar. Not to perform. Not to impress. But to die. To surrender. To be forged. This is a pivotal month. If your altar has grown cold, rebuild it. If it has become polluted, return with fire. If it has been neglected, lay yourself on it again.

The weight of what God will release next is too heavy for unbroken men. And the fire that will fall will not rest on performance. It will rest on sacrifice.

So i ask again: Where is your altar? What is on it? And who meets you there?

Proverbs 4:23 (NLT): “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.”

So I’m not Jesus?

Yes. You’re not Jesus. You carry His Spirit, His love, His Word but you are not the Messiah.Let that set you free.Because somewhere along the line, you were made to feel guilty for creating space. You were told love meant always being available, always tolerating, always saying “yes” Even to your own emotional exhaustion.

But love has shape. Love has structure. Love has fences.And boundaries are not bitterness.

They are wisdom. They are protection. They are part of stewarding your heart well.

EVEN GOD DRAWS LINES

Let’s be honest Some people are not safe.

Some relationships drain you more than they build you. Some access points need to be revoked, not out of hate, but out of honour For your mental health, for your spiritual sanity, and for your obedience to God.

Even Jesus The One who died for all walked away from crowds, left people unanswered,

and didn’t entrust Himself to everyone (John 2:24).

Why? Because love must be discerning.

Love without boundaries becomes abuse to self. And love that lacks structure opens the door for cycles that God already delivered you from.

WHEN GOD SAYS: “YES, FORGIVE BUT DON’T GO BACK”

There are people God is calling you to forgive

but not re-friend. People He’s asking you to bless but not bring back into your inner circle.

Why? Because you’re not the fixer.

You’re not the saviour. You’re not the one who must bleed to prove you're Christlike.Sometimes, love says:

“I see you, but I choose distance.”

“I’m praying for you, but I’m protecting my peace.”

“I’ve forgiven you, but access to me has changed.”

guess what? That’s still godly. That’s still love. That’s still obedience.

GOD, I FEEL BAD FOR RESTING FROM THEM

Let’s talk.Lord, I feel bad. They say I’ve changed.

They say I’m acting somehow. But they don’t know the nights I cried, the energy I spent, the ways I bled emotionally to keep peace alive.

I loved them. I really did. But I was losing me.

I was losing You. I was no longer growing. I was just surviving.And now that I’m pulling back, they’re accusing me of pride.

God, I’m learning that boundaries are not arrogance.

They’re alignment. They’re obedience. They’re clarity.

So help me not to shrink from the guilt trip of false expectations. Help me to love well, but live whole.

REMEMBER THIS: BOUNDARIES ARE A FORM OF LOVE TOO

You can: Love them and say no.

Pray for them and still block them.

Honour them in speech and honour yourself in silence.

Release them from your heart but not reintroduce them into your space.

Boundaries protect the love of God in you from being polluted by unrepentant patterns.

Even God puts up gates in heaven. Even Eden had borders. Even the tabernacle had sections outer courts, inner courts, Holy of Holies.

Access was always stewarded.

So, believer, steward well.

Proverbs 25:17 (MSG) “Don’t visit your neighbors too often, or you will wear out your welcome.”

Matthew 10:14 (NIV) “If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet.”

Galatians 6:5 (NLT) “For we are each responsible for our own conduct.”

1 Corinthians 15:33 (NIV) “Do not be misled: ‘Bad company corrupts good character.’”

2 Timothy 3:5 (NIV) “Have nothing to do with such people.”

YOU CAN STILL LOVE WELL AND LIVE WISE

This week, may the Holy Spirit remind you:

You’re not a villain for protecting what God is doing in your life.

You’re not ungodly for walking away from unsafe patterns. You’re not unkind for saying, “This is where I draw the line.”Boundaries are not anti-love. They are the infrastructure of holy love. They are how you guard your heart without growing hard.

So if God is whispering “it’s time to draw a line,” do it without shame. Because even the cross had distance between two thieves And yet Love still stood at the center.

Dear Friend,

Luke 23:34 (NIV) “Jesus said, ‘Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.’”

So I’m supposed to love the person who didn’t even say sorry?

Let’s not lie This one is hard. Not because you hate them. But because the story never ended. The conversation never happened. The pain was loud, and they were silent.They walked out of your life like a ghost in daylight No explanation. No confrontation.

Not even the decency of a “let’s talk about it.”

And now, you’re left holding the weight of their wrong,

Carrying the ruins of a story they won’t even acknowledge.But God still leans in and says:

“Love them. Forgive them. Bless them.”

And you, jaw slightly open, heart still limping, whisper: “But Abba, they didn’t even say sorry.”

WHEN CLOSURE DOESN’T COME, CAN LOVE STILL STAY?

Let’s say it with our full chest: Closure is not always given. Closure is not always deserved.

Closure is not always necessary for obedience.

That hurts, I know.Sometimes the only closure you’ll get is God’s comfort. Not their confession. Not their apology.

Not even a text that says, “I was wrong.”

Sometimes, God closes the chapter without a final sentence Because some doors must remain shut to protect your healing. And that doesn’t make the love you’re called to extend any less sacred.

A PAINFUL EXAMPLE: JESUS ON THE CROSS

When Jesus hung on the cross, bleeding, ridiculed, misunderstood, and abandoned no one from the crowd came to say, “We’re sorry.” None of the soldiers stopped to say, “We made a mistake.” Even His disciples scattered.Yet in the middle of betrayal and brutal silence, Jesus opened His mouth and said. “Father, forgive them”

No one asked for it. No one earned it.

Yet, Love spoke anyway.And that’s what makes divine love different from human sentiment. It loves even when it’s not reciprocated.

It releases even when the other party is unrepentant.

THE HEALING IS IN THE RELEASE

You keep thinking the conversation will make it better.

“If they just explain” “If they just own it” “If they just admit they were wrong”But what if they don’t? What if they never do?

What if God is saying, “Let it go without the apology.

Let it go without the drama. Let it go without the bow-tied ending.”Because what you think is closure might actually be control. You want to feel like justice was served. You want to feel seen.

But beloved, God sees. God knows. And God vindicates.

DIVINE LOVE SAYS, I CHOOSE TO LOVE, EVEN WITHOUT A REASON TO

This love isn’t weak it’s wildly mature. This forgiveness isn’t passive it’s warfare.

It says:

You may not say sorry, but I won’t stay bitter.

You may not come back, but I won’t stay trapped.

You may not give me peace, but I will choose peace.

You may not make it right, but I will live right.

This is what makes our love kingdom love. Not that it’s deserved, but that it’s freely given just like Christ did.

GOD, I NEVER GOT A REPLY

Let’s talk, Abba.You saw how they hurt me.

You were the one that even came to report them to me in secret place. You were the one whispering, “That was not right. That wasn’t love. That wound matters.”

So why now, are You asking me to love them?

They haven’t changed. They haven’t returned.

They didn’t say a word. And You still want me to forgive?You must be joking, Lord.But You’re not.

You’re stretching me. You're healing me by calling me to release what I want to rehearse. You’re growing me by refusing to let their silence become my shackle.

So here I am, Abba. Loving in the dark. Forgiving without feedback. Choosing mercy over memory.

Help me do it. Because I honestly can’t without You.

HEALING DOESN’T NEED A SORRY

Not every hurt gets a healing scene. Not every wound gets a return visit. Not every pain gets a press release.

But here’s the miracle:You can be healed, whole, joyful, and free without their apology.

You can love again. Trust again. Laugh again.

All because God is the God of unspoken restorations.

Let them be silent. Let the chapter stay closed.

Because heaven has spoken, and you are free.

There is a burden I have been carrying for a while now. It is one of the reasons I am careful whenever I teach, write, or even share what God is teaching me.

As someone God has entrusted with people, I am constantly praying one prayer: "Lord, don't let anyone stop at me. Let me only be a signpost that points them to You."

There is a kind of leadership that unintentionally creates dependence instead of discipleship and I don't want that.

Please hear my heart.I love it when people listen. I smile when someone sends me a message saying, "Jumoke, that thing you said changed my life." It is humbling. It reminds me that God still uses ordinary people.

But there is always another question that follows in my heart. Can you quote God's Word with the same excitement you quote me?

Not because I want less honour.But because I want Jesus to have more.

Sometimes I read messages from people who can repeat my words almost word for word.

They remember where I paused.

They remember the illustration I used.

They remember the exact sentence that blessed them. And I am grateful.

But then I wonder Do you know the words of Jesus this way? Can you remember what He said? Can you sit with your Bible and enjoy Him the way you enjoy listening to me?

Because if you cannot, then somewhere along the journey, something has shifted. And that should concern both of us.

The Bible says, "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me." John 10:27»

what Jesus didn't say.

He didn't say My sheep know the voice of their favourite preacher.

He didn't say My sheep follow the loudest teacher.

He said they know My voice.

Because I think we are raising a generation that is becoming more familiar with the voices of men than with the voice of God.

We know the catchphrases of our favourite ministers.

We know how they pray.

We know how they teach.

We know how they interpret certain Scriptures.

But when God wants to speak to us personally, we become unsure. Almost as if we need another human being to confirm that it is really Him.That breaks my heart.

Do you know why?

Because I never want anyone to believe that God only speaks through me.

I don't want you to need my voice before you can recognize His.

I don't want your confidence in God to rise and fall based on whether I have posted something today.

I don't want your quiet time to become my content.

I want your quiet time to become your own meeting place with God.

There is another thing that grieves me.

Sometimes we find it easier to trust what God says through a leader than to believe what God is saying directly to us through His Word.

A leader says, "God has a future for you," and we shout, "Amen!"

Then we read, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord.(Jeremiah 29:11).»

Yet somehow, we struggle to believe it because we didn't hear it from a microphone.

Why?

Why does God's written Word sometimes carry less weight than a leader's spoken words?

Could it be that we have become so accustomed to hearing about God through people that we have forgotten how to sit with Him ourselves?

I don't want to lead people like that.

I don't want to build a community that depends on me to hear God.

I don't want to become the middleman between people and Jesus.

That is too much responsibility for any human being to carry.

Jesus already carried it. The veil has already been torn.

"Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace" (Hebrews 4:16). Not through a personality. Not through a platform.

Through Christ.

If, after reading my words, you don't feel hungry to open your Bible, then I have failed.

If, after listening to me, you don't desire to spend time alone with Jesus, then I have missed the point.

If you know my opinions better than you know the Scriptures, then I have not led you well.

My assignment is not to gather people around my voice. My assignment is to point people to His.

Like John the Baptist, I want my life to keep saying, "He must increase, but I must decrease." (John 3:30). May that never become a nice Bible verse we quote.

May it become the posture of every leader.

And may it become the posture of every believer too.

Because the safest place to be is not under the loudest voice.

The safest place to be is close enough to recognize the voice of the Shepherd for yourself.

That is the kind of people I pray to lead.

People who are grateful for leadership but are deeply rooted in Christ.

People who honour their leaders without replacing Jesus with them.

People who can learn from me, be corrected by me, even be blessed through me but who never mistake me for the source.

I am not. I never will be. I am only pointing to the One who is.

Please Don't Become Attached to My Voice. Become Attached to Jesus.

If there is one prayer I hope God answers over my life, it is this: Lord, let no one become so attached to my voice that they forget Yours.

I know that sounds like a strange prayer.

After all, if you're called to teach, write, encourage, or lead people, shouldn't you want people to listen? Of course.

I want you to listen.I want you to be blessed. I want the words God places in my heart to strengthen your faith.

But I never want my voice to become the place where your faith lives.That place belongs to Jesus alone.

There is something beautiful about people saying, "That article blessed me."

There is something humbling about someone quoting my words months later.

It reminds me that God still chooses ordinary people to carry extraordinary truths.

But every time it happens, another question quietly rises in my heart.

After reading me, did you go back to your Bible?

if you only remember what I said but cannot remember what God has been saying to you, then I have not succeeded.

I don't want you to depend on my convictions.

I want you to develop your own.

I don't want you to borrow my intimacy with God.

I want you to build yours.

I don't want my voice to become the loudest one in your life.

I want it to become quieter and quieter until, one day, you recognize the Shepherd's voice without needing mine to explain it.

That is what healthy leadership should do.

It should introduce people to Jesus.

Then gently step aside.

John the Baptist understood this better than most.

"He must increase, but I must decrease." (John 3:30.)

It means I should be happy when you no longer need me to tell you to pray because you already long to be with God.

It means I should rejoice when you stop asking me every little question because you have learnt to search the Scriptures and listen to the Holy Spirit.

It means I should celebrate your dependence on Jesus, even if it means your dependence on me decreases.

That is not a loss. That is the goal. Please, don't become attached to my voice. Become attached to Jesus.Because my voice will have limits. There will be days I have nothing to say.

Days I am learning too.

Days I need God just as desperately as you do.

But Jesus?

He never runs out of words.

He never gets tired.

He never goes silent because He has abandoned His sheep.

"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me." (John 10:27.)

Rẹmember whose voice we are called to know.

His. Not mine.not any man of God.

So if my words ever help you, let them lead you back to Scripture.

If my prayers ever encourage you, let them stir your own prayer life.

If my teaching ever blesses you, let it awaken a hunger to sit with God yourself.

Don't stop with what He is saying to me.

Ask Him what He is saying to you.

Because the greatest compliment you could ever give me is not, "Jumoke, I love listening to you."

It is this: "Jumoke, because of what you shared, I have fallen more in love with Jesus."

That is the kind of legacy I want.Not people who know my voice. But people who know His.

Because voices fade.Platforms change. Seasons shift. But if, through it all, you remain deeply attached to Jesus, then we have both won.so please help us both win for the harvest is plenty and the kingdom is in need of labourers.

There’s a deep ache that comes with knowing you’ve forgiven someone, but you can’t do life with them anymore. You tried. You prayed. You processed. Still, God didn’t lead you back to that person or place. And for a while, you felt guilty.

Christian culture sometimes makes it feel like real forgiveness must come with full restoration. But what if restoration isn’t safe? What if the person never changed or worse, still believes you’re the problem? What if God Himself is the one who put the boundary in place?

Let’s be clear: Forgiveness is obedience. Reconciliation is optional. And the two are not always divinely tied together.

Walking Away Without Guilt

There are times when peace doesn’t mean proximity. And love doesn’t mean continued access.

You can forgive and never pick up the phone again. You can bless them in prayer and still block them in wisdom. Spiritual maturity isn’t just about restoring relationships; it’s about knowing which ones should never be restored.

Let’s bring it closer:

• God didn’t ask Hosea to stay in Gomer’s betrayal without instruction.

• Jesus didn’t chase Judas down the night He was betrayed.
  

Sometimes, God is not in the reunion. Sometimes, He is in the release. Because it’s possible to be at peace with someone without being in community with them.

Some people are assignments for a season. Others are cautionary tales for a lifetime. And when we try to force reconciliation where God is no longer planting, we uproot our own peace.

WHAT RECONCILIATION IS NOT

Let’s shatter a few myths we’ve nursed for too long:

• Reconciliation is not proof of spiritual superiority.

• Reconciliation is not an automatic badge of healing.

• Reconciliation is not always safe, wise, or necessary.
  

It’s okay to say:

“I love you in Christ, but I won’t put myself back in harm’s way.”

That’s not bitterness. That’s boundaries. That’s stewardship.

Don’t play the part of the Holy Spirit in someone else’s growth. Your job is to forgive and obey God not force a friendship, reopen trauma, or deny your discernment.

GUARD YOUR HEART, NOT YOUR EGO

let’s check our hearts too because pride can wear a “wise” face.Some of us have said, “God told me to let them go,” But what we really mean is “I want nothing to do with them ever again because they hurt me.”So here’s the heart check:

• Am I drawing boundaries or building walls?

• Am I avoiding them or walking in peace with clarity?

• Did God lead me to release them or am I hiding my hurt under “hearing God”?
  
  True healing is not afraid of peace it just doesn’t confuse peace with access.

GOD, I DID MY PART

You don’t owe anyone continued access to what they misused. You don’t have to return to a relationship just because they apologized. You can forgive and still say: “We’re not going back there.”

sometimes, real love doesn’t always bring people back together. Sometimes, real love looks like saying goodbye not out of hate, but out of healing.

when people ask why you didn’t reconnect, your answer can be simple:

“Because I made peace. And peace was enough.”

YOU ARE STILL OBEDIENT EVEN IF YOU DON’T GO BACK

You can walk away and still be right with God. Your obedience isn’t measured by how close you let them come back, but by how well you obeyed God’s instruction in your heart. If peace didn’t lead to proximity, that’s okay.

You’ve grown. You’ve grieved. You’ve given it to God. Now go in peace, not pressure. You did your part.

I am in my “Thank You Sir” season

Dear Friend,

Welcome to the fourth instalment of the Aderopo series.

If you are new here, let me explain what this is. Every year on my birthday I write this letter. Not because I have something impressive to announce. Not because life has been neat and tidy and easy to summarise. But because every birthday is a reminder that time is moving, and one day I will stand before God and give account for every single day I was given.

Aderopo. The crown will be replaced.

It always will be. Joshua replaced Moses. Elisha replaced Elijah. Esther replaced Vashti. The baton always passes. And the question that sits with me every year on this day is not "how old am I?" The question is What am I doing with the days I have been given?

That is the question that makes birthdays heavy for me. In a good way. In a holy sweet way.

So here I am again. A year older. A year closer to giving account. And this year, I am not arriving with a chapter-by-chapter breakdown of everything that happened. I am not arriving with a neat list of wins. I cannot find the language for everything this year held and I have tried.

What I can tell you is this: This year was heavy.

I will not itemise it fully. But I came into this birthday from a place of treatment. My body fought. I was in and out of hospital in the days leading up to today, and none of that was in my plan when I was sitting in May writing this letter. Life shifted in ways I did not see coming, in ways I could not have predicted or prepared for. And yet.

When I look back truly look back I can see that not one word God spoke over this year fell to the ground. Every promise He made, He kept. Every word He said came to pass. My year was not as I planned it. My year was as said by the Lord. that alone has silenced me.

Because when you watch God perform His word over your life not the comfortable parts, not just the parts you prayed for neatly but over the whole messy, heavy, confusing year you stop talking plenty. You just start saying thank you. Differently. From somewhere deeper. So I will say it like this.

• Thank You Sir for the days I was sure, and the days I was not sure.

• Thank You Sir for the days I was strong, and the days I was quietly tired.

• Thank You Sir for the days I had answers, and the days I had only questions.

• Thank You Sir for the days I smiled easily, and the days I smiled just to survive.

• Thank You Sir for the days I prayed with faith, and the days I prayed with confusion.

• Thank You Sir for the days I felt you near, and the days I wondered where you were.

• Thank You Sir for the doors that opened, and the doors that refused to open.

• Thank You Sir for the things I received, and the things you protected me from.

• Thank You Sir for the clarity, and for the delay.

• 

• Thank You Sir for the peace I understood, and the peace I could not explain.

• Thank You Sir for the nights I slept well, and the nights I stayed awake thinking.

• Thank You Sir for the laughter that came easily, and the tears that came quietly.

• Thank You Sir for the friendships that held me, and the ones that taught me release.

• Thank You Sir for the plans that worked, and the plans you interrupted.

• Thank You Sir for the things I saw coming, and the things that shocked me.

• Thank You Sir for the days I felt light, and the days I felt heavy but still carried.

• Thank You Sir for the strength I knew I had, and the strength I didn't know I had.

• Thank You Sir for the prayers you answered quickly, and the prayers you answered slowly.

• Thank You Sir for the times I understood your hand, and the times I just trusted it.

• Thank You Sir for the moments I stood tall, and the moments I had to sit down and breathe.

• Thank You Sir for the joy I planned, and the joy you surprised me with.

• Thank You Sir for the healing I noticed, and the healing I only realized later.

• Thank You Sir for the mercy I saw, and the mercy I didn't even recognize at first.

• Thank You Sir for the days I felt close to you, and the days I felt like I was far.

• Thank You Sir for the times I was confident, and the times I was unsure.

• Thank You Sir for the things I got right, and the things you still helped me through when I got it wrong.

• Thank You Sir for keeping me when I didn't even know I needed keeping.

• Thank You Sir for holding me when I didn't even ask to be held.

• Thank You Sir for saving me in ways I will never fully understand.

• Thank You Sir for being God over my days I understood, and my days I did not.

• Thank You Sir for my body. For fighting on my behalf when I was too tired to fight.

• Thank You Sir for mercy that showed up in hospital rooms and quiet nights and places nobody else saw.

• Thank You Sir for grace that carried what I could not carry myself.

• Thank You Sir for every single breath that still says I am here.

And if I didn't say anything else this year this is enough. Thank You Sir.

But haaaa, Olajumoke remembers oh.

I remember the days I didn't know what was next.

I remember the days I was trying to hold myself together quietly.

I remember the days I thought I was waiting, but I was actually being carried.

Some things this year did not come making sense. They came with subtle help. Strength I did not order. Unexpected peace. Small mercies that only made sense later. I am learning that those are also God.

So I am not here with complaints. I am here with awareness.

Awareness that I did not walk into this year alone.

Awareness that I did not sustain myself.

Awareness that even when I did not understand

what was happening, I was still being guided.

There were days I had plans, and life shifted them.

There were days I had questions, and God gave me silence instead of answers.

There were days I expected one thing, and something else completely carried me.

At the time, I didn't always understand it. But now I can see it differently.

I can see preservation where I once saw delay.

I can see protection where I once saw disappointment.

I can see mercy where I once saw confusion.

And when I look at this year the whole of it, the weight of it, the parts I will not fully name what I see most clearly is this: my year was as said by the Lord. Not as I planned. Not as I expected. As He said. Every word stood.

So this year, I don't have a long speech. I just have a posture. Gratitude.

*"Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." 1 Thessalonians 5:18*

A heart that says even if I don't have everything I want yet, even if the year was heavier than I anticipated, even if my body is still finding its way back I have seen enough of God to be grateful.

I cannot forget the prayers He answered quietly.

I cannot forget the doors He opened.

I cannot forget the things He protected me from that I did not even see.

I cannot forget the healing.

I cannot forget the growth.

I cannot forget the people He used to hold me up in difficult seasons.

I cannot forget how He kept giving me joy in the middle of life happening.

I cannot forget that He performed every word He spoke. Not one promise fell.

So this is where I stand. Saying Thank You Sir.

For life. For preservation. For grace that carried me when I had nothing left to carry myself with. For mercy that showed up quietly and did not announce itself. For friendships that held. For laughter that returned. For a year that was heavy and holy and completely in His hands. Thank You for helping me become.

And thank You for making sure that when the crown eventually shifts whatever I hand over will be worth something.

So You Mean I Have No Choice? Let me be dramatic with you.

when God said “Forgive,” I honestly thought it was one of those things He’d like me to do. You know if I’m in the mood. If they apologize. If they bring peace offerings. Maybe after I’ve blocked, healed, journaled, and unblocked. But no. Forgiveness is not up for debate. It’s not a fruit of your feelings it’s a command.

that’s the part that chokes. Because how do I forgive someone who doesn’t even see the damage they did? How do I forgive when the apology will never come? How do I forgive when the pain still breathes in my chest like it happened yesterday?

The Offense is Real, But So is the Assignment

Let’s not water it down. Some people genuinely hurt you. They misrepresented you, disrespected you, excluded you, weaponized your vulnerability. And now you’re left holding bleeding pieces while God is whispering:“Forgive.”Like Sir, with all due respect, You were there when it happened. You know it broke me.

Why are You asking me to pretend it didn’t?

And God replies: “Forgiveness is not pretending. It’s surrender.” It’s letting Me be the Judge. It’s handing Me the pain before it becomes poison.

“Vengeance is Mine; I will repay,” says the Lord. Romans 12:19

He’s not asking you to erase the memory. He’s asking you to release the weight. Because unforgiveness will age you. It will stain your prayers. It will make you suspicious of love, allergic to joy, and sensitive to peace.

And the enemy? He doesn’t mind that you speak in tongues. He minds that you’re still in chains. And one of his strongest chains… is unforgiveness dressed as discernment.

FORGIVENESS IS NOT FAIR BUT IT IS FREEING

Jesus knows how it feels. He was spat on. Abandoned. Denied. Falsely accused. And from the Cross in the middle of the injustice He said:

“Father, forgive them…” Luke 23:34

What excuse do we truly have? If the Holy One could forgive from the place of death, How can we, the forgiven, hold back mercy?

When You Forgive, You Set Two People Free

Don’t let unforgiveness dress up as loyalty to your pain.

Yes, what happened hurt. Yes, they may never know the depth of what they did. But forgiveness is your rebellion against the enemy’s plan to harden your heart.

So this week, don’t wait to feel ready. Don’t wait to “get over it.” Just say:

“Lord, I choose to forgive. My soul may scream, but my spirit obeys. I forgive because I was first forgiven. I release them because You released me.”Forgiveness is not a suggestion. It’s the sound of chains falling. It’s the fragrance of the Cross.

It’s the proof that you are becoming like Christ.

A whole new month, month 7 and for the 7th time this year happy new month, also, welcome to the second half of the year, this month shall be a month where you say and the Lord Remembered me. Another month another series, shall we Dear Friend?

“But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.” – Matthew 5:44 (NKJV)

There’s this moment I’ll never forget.I was sitting in the corner of my room, heart heavy, and replaying an offence like a broken record. just before I could raise another complaint to heaven, the Holy Spirit whispered, “Will you love her anyway?” I wanted to shout, “Lord, is it me you’re asking this question or my shadow?” Because if you know what she did but it is not like you are not aware of what she did, if you know how deeply it cut you’ll know why I don’t want to pray for her, greet her, or even like her status.lmao me i have bkocked already.

But again, came the whisper. “Love. Anyway.”

This is not the kind of faith they preach in the feel-good churches. This one burns. It demands. It breaks you open and rebuilds you in the shape of Jesus.

Let’s start with an honest question: Have you ever felt like obeying God was a betrayal of your own pain?

Because I have. And if we’re being sincere, loving certain people feels like you’re throwing away your dignity handing roses to the same people who gave you thorns. But then God comes With His ever-unserious, always-holy, eternity-minded self and says:

“Love her anyway.” “Serve him still.”

“I know what they did. But I need you to represent Me, not you.”

that’s the sting. Not because you didn’t hear Him

But because it was Him that exposed the betrayal in the first place

When God Snitches and Still Sends You Back

Yes, let’s talk about it. Let’s talk about when God is the one who exposed their betrayal, highlighted their envy, showed you their intentions, brought confirmation after confirmation and then tells you to forgive them. Not only forgive, but love You’re standing there like: “But Lord, You were the one that reported her to me. So now I should go and carry love on my head?” 😭😭😭😭

It doesn’t make emotional sense but it makes kingdom sense. Because we are not just called to love the lovable. We are called to love like Him.

Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Jesus didn’t wait for an apology. He didn’t hold back affection until we changed.

He didn’t post vague subs on His IG story when we hurt Him. He gave and gave and gave. And then said, “Go and do likewise.”

BUT WHAT ABOUT BOUNDARIES?

Yes, love doesn’t always mean access. It doesn’t mean foolishness or enabling toxicity.

it does mean your heart posture remains yielded to God. It means you’re not rehearsing their wrong.

You’re not praying for their downfall in disguise.

You’re not plotting closure they never asked for.

Love anyway.

• Even when it costs your pride.

• Even when your flesh is screaming.

• Even when you have the full screenshots.

THE WITNESS OF TOUGH LOVE

There’s a reason Jesus said:

“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:35

Not by how fast you speak in tongues. Not by your ability to block people prophetically. But by love.

So this month is not about them. it’s about what God is trying to shape in you through them.

The Weight and the Wonder

I know. This is not soft love This is not safe love.

This is love with teeth marks in it. Love with wounds that heaven still calls beautiful.But if God still loves you through all your patterns, moods, doubts, silence, and rebellion Then yes, He can ask you to love them too.

And the wildest thing? That love may just be the seed of their redemption.So say it with your chest this week: “Lord, this one is hard, but I’ll love anyway. Because You did it first. And You’re doing it through me.”

“Look how far you have fallen! Turn back to me and do the works you did at first.” Revelation 2:5

Let’s be honest. There are seasons that feel like you're moving fast, loud, shiny yet underneath all the motion is a quiet knowing: You're walking in circles.

Ever had that moment where life seems full, but your soul feels off? Where progress feels present, but peace is missing? You’ve ticked the boxes, made the moves, showed up where it looked like God was but something is misaligned. Missing.

if you sit still long enough, you’ll hear it. That same instruction. That last word you ignored. That thing you skipped because it didn’t suit your pride, your plans, or your picture of how life should’ve gone.

Let’s not pretend. You know exactly where the detour began. even though God didn’t abandon you on the path of disobedience, He hasn’t changed His mind either.

The instruction still stands. The call still echoes. like Jonah after the fish, like Peter after the denial, like Hagar in the wilderness God brings you back to the last word He gave. Because with God, you don’t graduate until you obey.

When Detours Delay but Don’t Delete:

Let’s visit Jonah again.

“Then the word of the Lord came to Jonah a second time: ‘Go to the great city of Nineveh and proclaim to it the message I give you.’” Jonah 3:1-2

He ran. He drowned. He almost died. And yet God’s instruction hadn’t changed. What was the point of the storm, the fish, the dark night of the soul? To bring him back to the place he first disobeyed.

God didn’t give Jonah a new assignment. He just gave him a second chance.And this is the mercy in your story too: That God is still calling you back. Back to the first “yes” you dropped halfway. Back to the friendship you broke in ego. Back to the ministry you paused because no one clapped. Back to the career switch you delayed because fear felt safer.

Back to the altar where obedience first trembled in your chest.Because in God’s economy, partial obedience is still disobedience. And until you revisit the place you veered off, everything else will feel like motion sickness you’re spinning, but not going anywhere meaningful.

What We Often Do Instead of Going Back

We get busy. We fill our calendars and convince ourselves that noise means progress. But heaven isn’t impressed with busy hands and disobedient hearts.

We redefine the instruction. “Maybe God meant it this way..” No. He’s not confused. You just want a version of obedience that doesn’t cost you as much.

We delay obedience and dress it as prayer.

“I’m still praying about it.” You’re not. You’re hiding. There’s no amount of prayer that substitutes actual movement in the direction God already pointed.

What Going Back Really Looks Like

You sit with yourself, with God, and you name what you avoided. Don’t cover it. Don’t justify it. Say it plain: “Lord, I disobeyed.”

Repentance with Motion.

Repentance isn't just confession it’s course correction. Like the prodigal son, you don’t just cry in the pigsty, you rise and return (Luke 15:18).

Obedience Without Conditions.

No “but what ifs,” no bargains. Go back even if it’s awkward, delayed, misunderstood, or inconvenient. If God is there, it’s the only place that matters.

Closure in God’s Timing, Not Your Pride.

Sometimes the thing you need to go back to isn’t even about the other person or platform it’s about your posture. Will you humble yourself and close the door properly?

Revelation 2:5 (NLT) “Look how far you have fallen! Turn back to me and do the works you did at first.” A divine reminder that return is not regression it’s alignment.

Genesis 16:9 (NLT) “The angel of the Lord said to her, ‘Return to your mistress, and submit to her authority.’” Even when running feels right, God’s will is still submission.

Jonah 3:1-2 (NIV) “Then the word of the Lord came to Jonah a second time” Your detour doesn’t delete your destiny but it does demand your return.

Obedience is the Way Home

You can’t outrun disobedience. You can’t outserve it. You can’t outperform it. You can only repent and return.And here’s the truth I’ve had to swallow myself:

The doors I wanted to see open were tied to the one door I slammed shut in rebellion. And God, in His holy patience, waited until I was willing to go back there.

I know it’s not easy. Sometimes, “going back” looks like facing shame. Sometimes, it feels like admitting, “I was wrong.” Sometimes, it means unravelling all the fake justifications you’ve wrapped around your pride.

But trust me there is grace on that road.

So, go back. Go back to obedience. Go back to intimacy. Go back to the posture where you first said, “Yes, Lord,” and meant it. Because until you go back You can’t really move forward.

When the Path Disappears Beneath Your Feet

It starts slowly. A little mist here. A little uncertainty there. Nothing dramatic, nothing loud. Just unclear. You’re still walking, but suddenly you can’t see the edge of the road anymore. You assumed because the first few steps of your disobedience were uneventful, the rest of the journey would be smooth. No thunder. No earthquake. Just fog.

Disobedience doesn’t always scream. Sometimes, it just fogs. It clouds your discernment, muffles your sensitivity, and before you know it, what was once a clear path becomes a confusing blur. And the worst part? You don’t always know when the fog began only that you can’t see anymore.

The Deceptive Calm Before the Confusion

The nature of disobedience is that it doesn't always lead you into chaos immediately. It lets you get comfortable. It lets you breathe. It might even let you succeed. But what it quietly does is shift your alignment. It slowly veers your heart off track not with noise, but with numbness.

In Genesis 3:7, Adam and Eve ate the fruit and their eyes were opened, but not in the way they expected. They saw nakedness, not glory. Fear, not wisdom. What promised to make them “like God” instead removed the very clarity that God’s presence gave.

Disobedience doesn’t just remove God’s protection it removes God’s perspective.

When You Can’t See Clearly Anymore

Have you ever tried to make decisions in a fog? You squint. You guess. You move slowly. You second-guess everything. That’s what spiritual fog does. One act of rebellion, one step off course, and you’re no longer sure if what you're hearing is God or guilt, the Spirit or your stubbornness.

Proverbs 4:18-19 (NLT) says: "The way of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, which shines ever brighter until the full light of day. But the way of the wicked is like total darkness. They have no idea what they are stumbling over."

Darkness doesn’t always fall suddenly. Sometimes it dims in degrees until you’re stumbling and can’t explain why.

The Fog is Familiar But Foreign

Here’s the danger: you will keep walking like everything is fine. You’ll still show up at church. Still quote scripture. Still say "God knows my heart." But what you won’t realize is that your spiritual senses have dulled. You no longer trust God the same. You are leaning more on logic than on leading.

In 1 Samuel 28, Saul had long stopped obeying God, but it wasn’t until he needed direction that he realized the Lord had stopped answering him. The fog had set in. Desperation doesn’t always bring clarity when the fog is a result of continual disobedience.

The Silent Drift and the Loud Crash

No one wakes up and says, "I want to disobey." It usually starts with “I’ll just wait a little longer.” “It’s not that deep.” “God understands.” Until one day, you realize you haven’t heard Him clearly in weeks. Your discernment is off. Your heart is weary. And the decisions you’re making are based on feelings, not fire.

The fog was your consequence, not your covering.

When You Can’t See, Stop Moving

If this is where you are confused, numb, foggy don’t panic. But please, don’t keep walking either. Stop. Repent. Return. Ask God to clear the fog with His Word. Ask the Spirit to shine a light again. Even if it’s just one obedient act, let that be the match that sparks the dawn.

Psalm 119:105 (KJV) says: “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”

Not a spotlight. Not a stadium floodlight. A lamp. That means He’ll show you the next step not the whole road.

Sometimes the most obedient thing you can do is admit you're lost and let the Shepherd come find you. And he always come through you only have to be willing to come back home.

There was a time God gave me an instruction so wild, so disruptive, so unreasonable to my flesh that I genuinely paused and said:

“Wait, wait, wait maybe I heard wrong.
Maybe He meant a more reasonable version of what I think I heard.”

Because, surely God, the One who sees the beginning and the end, would have considered my emotions, my finances, my “PR”?He would never ask me to walk away from this now, when it just started to make sense, Right? Wrong.

That hesitation, that internal negotiation, that sacred attempt to adjust His word so it would be easier to obey That, my dear, was not wisdom. It was disobedience wearing logic like perfume.

THE TRAGEDY OF “ALMOST OBEYING”

You see, one of the greatest lies disobedience tells us is this: “If you obey the idea of what God said, it’s enough.”

So we tweak it. Delay it. Break it into stages. We soften it until it loses its weight.But ask King Saul what happens when you almost obey. He spared what was pleasing to the eye, not what was precious to God.

1 Samuel 15:9
“But Saul and the people spared Agag and the best of the sheep all that was good, and would not utterly destroy them.”

You know what he destroyed? The things he didn’t value He obeyed where it cost him nothing.

And when the prophet Samuel came, Saul proudly said:

“I have performed the commandment of the Lord.”

Bold lie. He thought partial obedience could still win him full favor.But heaven was not smiling.

1 Samuel 15:22
“To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams.”

HOW WE DO IT NOW MODERN DAY SAULS

Today, we don’t spare kings and livestock.
We spare comfort. We spare timelines. We spare people’s opinions. We spare things we still secretly love.

God says “Leave the job.” You update your LinkedIn, but stay three more months for salary. God says “Cut off that relationship.” You mute them on Instagram but still reply DMs. God says “Fast and pray.” You fast food, but binge on podcasts.

You didn’t obey. You just edited divine instruction until it felt safe enough to perform.You are rearranging God’s blueprint.

BIBLICAL BLUEPRINTS PEOPLE EDITED

• Jonah: Called to Nineveh, ran to Tarshish. Result? A storm, a shipwreck, and a whale-sized reset.

• Moses: Struck the rock instead of speaking to it missed the promised land.
  

• Uzzah: Helped steady the ark his way died instantly.

Partial obedience is not just disobedience.
It’s rebellion in makeup.
It’s dishonor with lipstick.
It’s pride wearing God’s name

This is where you sit and ask yourself :

• Where have I obeyed God selectively and called it faith?
  

• What am I still holding on to that God asked me to surrender fully?
  

• Have I delayed an instruction and dressed it up as waiting on God?
  

• Am I trusting the wisdom of God or my ability to adjust His words?
  
  

DROP THE PEN

Obedience is not a suggestion box. You don’t get to add footnotes to what heaven has already signed off. When you edit the instruction, you change the outcome.

You forfeit the version of you that obedience was designed to birth. You delay the breakthrough because you modified the prerequisite.

The instruction may feel hard, but so is every construction. Especially when the foundation is divine.

So today, I want to say to the Saul in you: Stop adjusting. Stop sparing. Stop negotiating. Don’t just perform the idea of God’s will. Perform it fully. Perform it exactly. Perform it even when it breaks your logic.

Because obedience, full, wild, fast obedience is the only door to destiny that doesn’t expire.

Obedience is the key and one of the ways to stay with God.

Jonah 1:1-3 (NLT)

"The Lord gave this message to Jonah son of Amittai: 'Get up and go to the great city of Nineveh. Announce my judgment against it because I have seen how wicked its people are.' But Jonah got up and went in the opposite direction to get away from the Lord."

You see ehn, many of us are not the stereotypical disobedient child. We’re not out here dragging God’s name through the mud or living recklessly. In fact, if we judged obedience by how well we serve in church or how ‘well-behaved’ we look online, we’d pass with flying colors. But this is where it gets tricky disobedience isn’t always loud. Sometimes, it’s quiet, neat, and even applauded.

Sometimes it sounds like this: “God, I’m not running from You o. I’m just not going to Nineveh. In fact, I’ll go to Tarshish and even preach there if You want.”

Let’s call it what it is selective obedience. The kind that says, “I’m not doing badly, I’m just not doing that.”

The Mask of Activity:

Jonah’s story is such a mirror. God gave him a very specific instruction, and Jonah, a prophet (imagine oh!), decided to reroute. He didn’t go to a brothel or start a crime syndicate. He just went in the opposite direction of what God told him. And that alone was disobedience.

In our own way, we sometimes convince ourselves that partial obedience is obedience. We serve everywhere leading, praying, mentoring but when God puts a weight on something specific, something scary, uncomfortable, or unfamiliar, we shelf it.

“I’m not doing bad.” But are you doing what God actually said? Obedience isn’t about volume; it’s about alignment. It’s not about how much you’re doing, but whether what you’re doing is what God is asking for in this season.

Why We Say No Without Saying No

We say things like: “I need to pray about it more.” (Meanwhile, we’ve been praying for 2 years.)

“I’m waiting for confirmation.” (Even after dreams, prophecies, and inner conviction.)

“I don’t think I’m ready.” (Which may be true, but who told you God needs you to feel ready?)

We spiritualize delay. We romanticise redirection. But obedience is better than sacrifice even the sacrificial ones dressed in service, worship, and performance.

God’s Instruction is Not a Suggestion:

There’s a reason Nineveh was God’s assignment for Jonah. Tarshish may have looked safer, more predictable, even more promising. But that wasn’t where grace was waiting.

When we replace the “what” God said with the “what we prefer,” we start walking in manufactured outcomes. It may still bear fruit but not the fruit of obedience. Not the fruit that pleases the Father.

The Silent Drift:

Here’s the thing: disobedience is not always defiant. Sometimes, it’s quiet. Hidden in busyness. Dressed in church clothes. Smiling on the ‘gram. But deep down, God knows this isn’t what I asked you to do.

Tarshish will always have a boat. There will always be a logical, well-lit, easier option. But the question is is it what God asked? You’re not doing bad, love. But are you doing that thing He asked?

This week, go back. Pick up that instruction. Dust it off. Ask for help. Begin again. He’s not waiting in Tarshish. He’s waiting in Nineveh.

For the sixth time this year Happy new month, may the month be all that you hoped and pray for. You know by now it is time for a new series, so let us get into it.

Let me ask you a hard question one that’s probably not stranger to your thoughts: What do you do when you know exactly what God told you but your feet just won’t move?

Let’s skip the poetic fluff for a moment. You’re not confused. You’re not waiting for more confirmation.

You’re not “praying about it” anymore. You’re just disobeying.

In silence. In delay. In spiritual sophistication that looks like discipline, but is really a designer veil for rebellion.

I’m not pointing fingers, my dear. That girl? The one stiff in her tracks even after divine clarity? That girl was me.

Disobedience Doesn’t Always Start Loud

We often imagine rebellion as some loud, aggressive, fire-breathing act against God’s will. But noit usually starts in silence. It starts when we hear the instruction clearly, but tell ourselves, “Maybe next week.”

It begins in the soft lull of “Let me just finish this first.”

It grows in that quiet defiance dressed up as emotional exhaustion, overthinking, or fake spiritual depth. You delay, but your spirit knows the truth: You are resisting God.

Remember Jonah?When God told him, “Go to Nineveh,” he didn’t throw a tantrum. He didn’t debate. He didn’t ask for clarity. He just ran. In the opposite direction.

“But Jonah rose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord.” Jonah 1:3 (ESV)

Running away doesn’t always look like sprinting. Sometimes it’s gentle refusal. Sometimes it’s scrolling endlessly. Sometimes it’s staying in a place God already told you to leave.

The Danger of Delayed Obedience

Here’s the truth nobody wants to say out loud: Delayed obedience is disobedience.And disobedience has consequences even when it feels emotionally justifiable.

Every time Jonah disobeyed, someone else paid the price.His shipmates suffered a storm they didn’t deserve. And in many of our own lives, storms are erupting not because the devil is attacking,

but because we’re delaying what God already instructed. You’re not cursed. You’re disobedient. there is a difference.

What’s Holding You Back? Ask yourself honestly:

• Is it fear?

• Is it pride?

• Is it the fact that it will cost you your comfort, your routine, your applause?

• Is it because obedience means letting go of control?

Hebrews 3:15 warns us:“Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts”Not tomorrow. Not later. Today.

SO Whisperscape:I once told God, “I’m not ready,” and He responded, “You are not the one who determines readiness. I am.”

That shook me.So now, I’m asking you, dear friend in the hallway of hesitation: What has God told you to do that you’ve been pretending not to hear? What are you doing instead of obeying?

This week, take a journal. Go to war with every excuse. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you the silent Tarshish you’re running to.

Because the longer you delay, the heavier the storm becomes. And even worse you grow numb to the sound of His voice. But here’s the mercy: There’s still time to obey. You don’t need to figure it all out. You just need to say yes.
