I knew Cody and I had different perspectives on some issues, and I wanted to have more conversations on the show where differing viewpoints are actually welcome.

It’s easy to live in an echo chamber. We hear the same opinions, follow the same people, and surround ourselves with voices that reinforce what we already believe. But if we’re never challenged, how do we know whether our convictions have been thoughtfully examined?

Sometimes being challenged should cause us to change our minds. Other times, it should cause us to dig deeper, ask better questions, and gain an even stronger understanding of why we believe what we believe.

My conversation with Cody ended up covering more of her personal story—from her time serving in the United States Air Force to what eventually brought her to Missouri and led her to run for State Representative in District 123.

But one moment in the conversation really stood out to me.

A caller challenged Cody on her perspective, and rather than becoming defensive or dismissive, she remained calm and respectful.

So maybe we haven’t lost the ability to have meaningful conversations after all.

Maybe we can disagree on a lot of things and still recognize the things we do agree on. Maybe we can work toward a common goal without pretending our differences don’t exist. And maybe listening to someone we disagree with doesn’t mean compromising our convictions—it means having enough confidence in those convictions to actually engage.

As a follower of Christ, I know there will always be a divide between those who have repented and accepted salvation and those who have not. But that divide was never meant to be an excuse to alienate people.

So the question I continue to ask myself is:

How do I love someone well, have an honest conversation, and neither condone what is wrong nor condemn the person?

I hope this episode encourages you to step outside your own echo chamber, listen to someone you disagree with, and remember that disagreement doesn’t have to mean division.

Stay tuned for more conversations with Cody and digging into some deeper topics!

Share

Thanks for reading Nadine@9’s Substack! Even as a kid, he noticed government attempting to dictate certain day-to-day aspects of life, and it never sat well with him. Some difficult years in middle school would ultimately help prepare him for the path he is on today: politics.

And Jake isn’t stepping into politics to simply fall in line.

He’s stepping into it to ask questions, challenge assumptions, hold politicians accountable, and encourage healthy debate—even when that means challenging people on his own side.

We talk about the problems that arise when party loyalty becomes more important than constitutional principles, the “uniparty” mentality that can reward bullies and discourage dissent, and why Republicans shouldn’t automatically fall in line simply because their party has put something forward.

Because, as I say often, our loyalty shouldn’t belong to a political party.

It should belong to the Constitution—and to the principles that make our Republic worth defending.

And there’s a pretty fitting family connection behind Jake’s passion for the fight. He has traced his ancestry back to John Sevier, a battle-tested Patriot who fought for American independence and went on to become Tennessee’s first governor.

Turns out, those Patriot roots run pretty deep.

This is what it looks like when a young American decides that being a citizen means more than simply casting a ballot every few years.

You don’t have to be in the majority to make a difference. Sometimes, the most important work starts on the outside.

Find Jake on Facebook and X.

If you would like to sign his petition to ban Flock cameras in St. Charles you can do that here.
<div class="embedded-post-wrap" data-attrs="{"id":206233770,"url":"https://jakejacksonmo.substack.com/p/my-ancestor-john-sevier-governor","publication_id":9932528,"embedding_publication_id":3175867,"publication_name":"Jake Jackson","publication_logo_url":"https://substackcdn.com/image/fetch/$s_!5onY!,f_auto,q_auto:good,fl_progressive:steep/https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2F9312ae41-8085-4955-b3a8-c3da67e3c750_499x499.png","title":"My Ancestor, John Sevier—Governor, Revolutionary War Hero and Rugged Pioneer","truncated_body_text":"This is my inaugural article on Substack, and I’ve decided to dedicate my first article to my ancestor, John Sevier, who served as the first Governor of Tennessee. My concern is that instead, they’ll simply blame “stupid” voters for not understanding what they were trying to accomplish.

But there’s a bigger issue here that goes beyond these two amendments.

How did we get to a place where we think it’s acceptable to block someone simply because we’re annoyed with them or disagree with them? On this episode, Mike and Amy from Act4MO join me to walk through each proposal, what it would do, and why these measures deserve more than a quick glance before heading to the polls.

Share

One of the biggest frustrations we discuss isn’t simply what’s on the ballot—it’s how these amendments got there. Time and again this legislative session, Missouri’s Republican supermajority had opportunities to send clean, straightforward proposals to the people. Instead, many voters are once again left sorting through complicated compromises and political “sausage.”

We also talk about the growing divide among conservatives. Increasingly, anyone unwilling to embrace mediocre legislation is dismissed as helping the other side or labeled something they’re not. But healthy disagreement isn’t always a sign that something is wrong. Sometimes it’s evidence that people are refusing to compromise on principle.

As Christians, our identity should never be rooted in a political party or movement. Years ago, God reminded me that my truest label is “redeemed.” That’s the identity I want to carry, regardless of which political battles are won or lost.

We may not win every battle in front of us, but Scripture reminds us that the war has already been decided. My prayer is simply that we remain faithful to Christ until the very end.

You can find Act4MO’s helpful resources including their August voter guide here.
You can also find the actual amendment language here.

Share

Thanks for reading Nadine@9’s Substack! We spent a lot of time talking about what Personhoodreally means, and my hope is that our discussion helped clear up some of the misconceptions that have been a stumbling block in the movement to abolish abortion. You tell me...did it help your understanding of abolition?

Then I had a great conversation with Gerald Wistrand about his plans for the Missouri State Auditor’s Office. Seeing what he believed was a lack of leadership from someone seeking the newly drawn congressional seat, he decided it was time to step back into the race.

But this conversation goes much deeper than politics.

Taylor shares how years in the military prepared him to stand firm under pressure, to lead with integrity when compromise would have been easier, and to understand that leadership isn’t built through grand speeches—it’s built through faithful, consistent work day after day.

One of the most refreshing parts of our conversation wasn’t about legislation at all. It was hearing a man openly acknowledge that he doesn’t do this alone. Taylor spoke about the unwavering support of his wife, Elyse, whose prayers and encouragement have strengthened him throughout his journey. He also emphasized the importance of surrounding himself with godly men who are willing to hold him accountable for both his words and his actions.

In a culture that often celebrates self-reliance and independence, especially among young men, it was encouraging to hear someone say the opposite. Strong leaders aren’t islands. They need faithful spouses, trusted friends, and people willing to speak truth into their lives.

Whether you agree with every policy position or not, this episode is a reminder that the character of those seeking public office matters. Leadership begins long before Election Day.

Connect with Taylor:
Facebook, X, campaign website

Catch Taylor in person at the Miller County Candidate Forum Monday the 20th at the Eldon Community Center (309 E. We discuss how Missouri’s SB4, passed in 2025, intersects with utility regulation, data center growth, and the future of electric rates across our state.

We explore questions every Missourian should be asking:

Are customers paying for energy or infrastructure before it’s ever used?

How do massive data centers affect the electric grid and our monthly bills?

Who determines how much electricity utilities plan for—and who ultimately pays for it?

Why do some large corporations receive tax incentives while everyday ratepayers face rising costs?

What should consumers expect as Missouri’s energy demands continue to grow?

Whether you’re concerned about your family’s budget, government policy, or simply want to understand what’s happening behind the scenes, this conversation offers an inside look at one of the biggest issues facing Missouri consumers today.

Find Lisa on the Shield Maidens of Missouri fb page or on her X page.

*I will send out an update when I have the Evergy case files to include.

Share

Note: Supporters of Missouri’s SB4 argue it includes protections intended to prevent residential customers from subsidizing large data centers by requiring those customers to pay rates reflecting their costs through long-term contracts and specialized tariffs. Through this little podcast, I’ve had the privilege of meeting new friends, hearing inspiring stories, and walking down paths I never could have planned myself.

Nadine@9 has become a much bigger part of my life than I ever imagined. Believe it or not, I still get nervous before every single show! But every week, I also have this quiet assurance that this is exactly where God wants me to be.

If I’m honest, there are times when I get distracted by numbers, downloads, and growing the audience. But every time I start focusing on those things, God gently reminds me why I started this journey in the first place. This show has never been about building a platform—it has always been about pointing people toward eternal Truth and faithfully using whatever opportunities He places in front of me.

One of the things I’ve loved most about this experience is seeing how God prepares us for something long before we ever know it’s coming. Nadine@9 was never on my radar, yet somehow He had been preparing me for it all along.

In the grand scheme of things, this podcast may seem small, but I’m incredibly grateful for each of you who has listened, shared an episode, sent an encouraging message, or prayed for me. Your support has meant more than you know.

Thank you for spending Fridays with me. And when evidence is presented, what does it take before we stop dismissing uncomfortable questions and start examining uncomfortable facts?

In this episode, Dr. Frank and I discuss election integrity, institutional accountability, and why admitting failure seems to be one of the hardest things for governments—and people—to do. If the goal is fair and transparent elections, why is there so much resistance to independent scrutiny? How deep does the problem go, and how bad does it have to get before someone finally pulls back the curtain?

If you had asked Dr. Frank years ago where life was headed, election integrity would never have made the list. A scientist by training and a respected member of the academic community, he expected to spend his career in research—not at the center of one of the most controversial issues of our time. But God has a way of redirecting even the best-laid plans. As the evidence mounted, Dr. Frank found himself walking through doors he never intended to open, living out the timeless truth of
Proverbs 16:9: “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.”

Whether this conversation challenges your assumptions or confirms what you’ve long suspected, our hope is the same: that truth is never something to fear, and honest questions should never be dismissed simply because the answers make us uncomfortable.
<p class="button-wrapper" Newman has spent much of his life looking beyond the headlines. An investigative journalist, international speaker, and founder of Liberty Sentinel Media, Alex grew up overseas, learned multiple languages, and developed a unique perspective on the forces shaping nations and cultures around the world.

In this episode, Alex shares how his experiences abroad helped him recognize both the strengths and vulnerabilities of America. While he rejects the notion that any reporter can be completely unbiased, he believes journalists have a responsibility to pursue facts, report fairly, and bring attention to important issues that much of the mainstream media overlooks.

Alex’s work has appeared in numerous publications, including The Epoch Times, The New American, and Law Enforcement Intelligence Brief. He is also the author of several books, including Woke & Weaponized and Deep State 2.0.

Share

Our conversation explores the current state of the Republic, the importance of informed citizenship, and why preserving liberty requires more than simply voting every few years. Will also opens up about buying a local television station at a young age and trying to figure out who he was while carrying the weight of leading a business.

Like so many of us, Will made choices he wishes he could take back. Choices that could have easily become the label that followed him for the rest of his life.

But God had a different story to write.

Instead of being defined by addiction, Will chose the difficult road of recovery. With the unwavering support of his wife and the grace of God, he has now celebrated many years of sobriety. Today, he shares his story not because he’s proud of every chapter, but because he’s seen how God can use even our darkest moments to bring hope to someone else.

Will’s story was never meant to end with, ‘Hi, I’m an alcoholic.’
God meant for it to become, “Hi, I’m here to serve.”

I pray this episode brings hope to you and encouragement that you are NEVER too far beyond the redeeming power and love of the Father!

If you are looking for someone to talk to I highly recommend checking out Identified Ministries.

Share

Nadine@9’s Substack is a reader-supported publication. With the current seat holder terming out, the field is filled with candidates eager to claim the spot. But while many are talking about freedom, constitutional values, and fighting government overreach, only one candidate has already proven he’s willing to act when it matters most: Ike Skelton.

Share

I sit down with Ike to discuss why he’s entering the race, what leadership should actually look like, and why Missouri voters are hungry for representatives who are willing to do more than make campaign promises.

As presiding commissioner over the last three+ years, Ike faced a direct challenge when his county became entangled in concerns surrounding mass surveillance through Flock camera systems. Rather than ignore the issue or hide behind bureaucracy, he helped LEAD the charge against what many viewed as intrusion. After an ordinance was passed requiring the cameras to be removed — and the company failed to comply — Ike personally stepped in and removed the camera himself.
*Read more about that here.

That moment became symbolic of something larger: leadership rooted in conviction, not convenience.

A longtime activist dating back to the Tea Party movement, Ike understands the importance of constitutional limits, honest government, and transparency at every level. He believes elected officials should know the Constitution, follow it, and remember that government exists to serve the people — not control them.

We also discuss the growing push for massive data center expansion across Missouri and why Ike believes communities should be cautious whenever government begins artificially forcing “growth” into an area. To Ike, real prosperity happens organically — through strong communities, local businesses, and citizens shaping their own future. When government and corporate interests begin aggressively steering development from the top down, history shows that trouble usually follows close behind.

As the campaign trail heats up, voters are going to hear a lot of polished speeches, slogans, and promises from candidates trying to separate themselves from the pack. But amid all the noise, there’s one thing worth remembering: when the pressure came, when government intrusion became real, and when leadership actually mattered — Ike was the one who led.

Lots of candidates can talk about courage. Ike already showed Missouri what it looks like.

Ike’s website and donation page
Ike’s fb page

Share

Nadine@9’s Substack is a reader-supported publication. Raised in what many would consider poverty, he quickly developed a determination to build something different for his life. That determination led him to fulfill not one, but two childhood dreams: serving in the military and becoming a helicopter pilot.

But as life often goes, those dreams shifted. Changing economic conditions and advancing drone technology brought an end to his aviation career—but not to his drive.

Returning to his hometown, Dusty and his wife built a successful construction business and planted deeper roots in their community. Yet even in the midst of that success, he felt a stronger call—one that went beyond business or personal ambition.

A call to responsibility.

Having closely watched the patterns coming out of the Missouri Capitol—elected officials making promises, swearing oaths to the Missouri Constitution, and then abandoning both—Dusty knew something had to change. He believes the people of Missouri deserve leaders who will stand firm, not sell out.

And so, after prayer, counsel, and careful consideration, Dusty and his wife stepped into the arena. In May 2025, they officially launched his campaign for Missouri Senate District 18—a seat long held by Cindy O’Laughlin—with a mission to restore integrity, courage, and accountability.

Dusty doesn’t pretend this path will be easy. In fact, he expects the opposite. But grounded in the Word of God, he’s committed to standing on principle—even when it costs him.

This is about more than politics. It’s about calling. Conviction. And what it truly means to be a responsible patriot in a time like this.

Please consider supporting Dusty, even if you’re not in his District. The state of Missouri NEEDS men like him serving at the Capitol!

Don’t worry, it’s the only time he’ll ask you to vote Blue!

Dusty for State Senate website

Dusty Blue for State Senate Facebook

Dusty Blue on X

Share

Thanks for reading Nadine@9’s Substack! Planning and zoning meetings weren’t unusual. Passing out flyers wasn’t a chore. Speaking at events wasn’t intimidating. To her, it was normal—just part of what it meant to live in this country and take civic duty seriously.

That mindset never left.

Today, Sophia has taken those early lessons and turned them into action across Missouri. From advocating for pro-life legislation, to taking on the establishment at the Missouri Republican Convention—and winning—to helping run highly effective campaigns, her work is rooted in one clear purpose: serving and protecting the people of this state.

But what sets Sophia apart is her refusal to play the political game the way it’s typically played.

Through her work with MOMAV Strategies, she’s helping build something different—an alternative to the establishment “racket.” Her philosophy is simple but rare: remain unbranded, remain sovereign, remain free, and do right by ordinary Missourians.

In a political culture driven by labels, trends, and pressure, Sophia stands grounded. Her old-soul perspective keeps her steady where others might bend. She knows who she is, she’s confident in the path God has laid before her, and she isn’t afraid to do the hard work required to protect what matters.

With the support of a strong, faith-filled family behind her, Sophia Shore represents a new generation of leadership—one that isn’t chasing approval, but is committed to truth, service, and freedom.

This is what it looks like to be Unbranded.

If you’d like to help work on a campaign or maybe even for MOMAV Strategies, you can contact Sophia here.

Share

Thanks for reading Nadine@9’s Substack! Along the way, he’s gained and lost relationships, learning firsthand that integrity and truth often come at a price inside the Capitol.

But through it all, Mike sees something deeper: the steady, faithful hand of God guiding each step of his journey.

With the support of his wife of 46 years and their five children, Mike continues to press forward—choosing obedience over comfort, and conviction over compromise.

Drawing from Proverbs 3:5–6, his mission remains clear: trust in the Lord and follow wherever He leads.

And while critics may see the ridicule he faces as a burden, Mike views it differently—as a reminder of Christ’s words: “If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own…”

Please remember to pray for Senator Moon, his wife, and family. While he knows he’s on the path God has set out for him, it has not come without cost. But Mike understands the cost Jesus paid on the cross will always outweigh whatever He asks us to do for Him on this earth!

You can find Mike on Facebook, website, or X.
You can contact him at: mike.moon@senate.mo.gov or by phone: 573-751-1480

Share

Thanks for reading Nadine@9’s Substack!
