Reading Joe Navarro’s book made me realize a lot of facts that i was not aware about the most honest part of me: my feet . I bought that book randomly while i was walking and saw it on the street, as if the book was meant to be mine.

Joe mentioned that Leonardo Da Vinci said after studying the human body “The human foot is a masterpiece of engineering and a work of art”, they carry our whole weights whatever the weight was or the pressure, which is fabulous. Our feet are magical because they can survive tight shoes, heat, cold, humidity, or even they can break a brick with a Taekwondo kick but that is not what they merely do.

Thanks for reading! Usually just the front of the foot is involved but can be done with the heel of the foot. Also, our whole legs can show our enthusiasm or excitement towards something or someone like when we unconsciously head towards a store window or a person we are interested in. Or we feel uncapable of leaving but our legs remain the same due to our liking. Some people when they feel a sort of stress they tend to remove their socks of their feet because stress cause skin temperature to rise quickly, this is an often unobserved behavior that shows a high degree of psychological pain. As i kept reading, i found out that foot withdrawing is done when we are asked sensitive questions we might not like, the foot withdrawing is sometimes a noticeable movement specially during job interviews or at home, teen might do it when asked where they were the night before.

As I kept reading deeper and deeper into Navarro's pages, what completely blew my mind
<div Think about it this way: when someone is sitting or standing and suddenly their feet start bouncing up and down, their heels lift off the ground, or they start rhythmically rocking back and forth on their toes, it means their brain is flooded with pure excitement, joy, or absolute confidence. It sounds crazy, but this gravity-defying movement is a deep subconscious reaction that humans have absolutely zero control over, no matter how hard they try to mask it. A person might be trying to keep a completely straight, serious face, act cool, or pretend that they are totally uninterested in what is happening around them, but their lower half is literally throwing a party under the table. According to his research, this happens because our limbic system which is the ancient, emotional part of our brain that can’t tell a lie forces our body to physically react to positive feelings before our conscious mind can even think about hiding it. It is the ultimate evolutionary survival design; when we feel safe, victorious, or receive incredible news, our body naturally wants to expand and lift upward against gravity. Once you know what to look for, you realize that while a person can easily fake a polite smile, control their breathing, or look you dead in the eye to lie right to your face, the sudden, unstoppable rocking of their feet is a dead giveaway that they are secretly on cloud nine. It’s like their feet are shouting the absolute truth at the floor while the rest of their body is trying its best to stay quiet and still.

Looking back, it feels crazy to think that I only discovered all of this because I happened to spot a random book sitting out on the street and decided to pick it up. It really feels like that book was meant to be mine, because it completely shifted the way I view the world around me. We live in a society where everyone is constantly practicing how to hide their true feelings, protect their egos, and mask their insecurities. People put on fake smiles, nod along to conversations they absolutely hate, and use their mouths to tell whatever lies they think you want to hear just to get through the day. But the ground never lies. While everyone else is busy looking at faces and trying to guess what people are thinking based on a forced grin or a practiced stare, I’ll be looking down at the floor. Whether it's a foot subtly pointing toward the exit because someone feels trapped, or someone secretly rocking on their toes because they are on cloud nine, the truth is always right there under our noses or rather, under our shoes. It makes you realize that human beings are like puppets controlled by their evolutionary instincts, and our lower half is always the one pulling the strings. The next time you’re having a conversation with someone who claims they are perfectly fine, don’t listen to their words. Just take a quick look at their feet, because they might just be telling a completely different story, and you’ll finally be able to see the raw, unfiltered truth that they are desperately trying to hide from the rest of the world.

Thanks for reading!
