Being neurodivergent in black

Being a black neurodivergent person is living in a oxymoronic world. Where most people don’t care that you’re not divergent. Or blame your issues on stereotypical things.

I will say one of the thing about most black neurodivergent people depending on where we are on the spectrum. Most of us are highly highly highly functioning. Why? You may ask.

It’s because we were never given the space to Beaner divergent. We’ve never been given the space to make mistakes. We’ve never been given the space to be attention deficit. Anything that we have done has been punished so we have learned to mask probably harder than most people.

When I hear White neurodivergent people talking about how it’s so hard for them to complete a task or they can barely show up in life or that they’re able to shut down.

There is some ableism in my energy towards them. Because most of us have to complete task most of us have to show up. We can never shut down because who’s gonna show up for us

So it’s just very interesting how Black Monroe divergent people are treated versus others. This is just a short read. This is all I got.
