The market sold off from all-time highs, tagged the 50-day on QQQ, and did it into NVDA earnings.

I was long NQ and QQQ under the 50-day — before the print — with 40-point stops on the NQ longs.

Most people will call that early. Or sloppy. Or a “50 SMA bounce.”

It was none of those.

Waiting for a daily reclaim is the clean confirmation. It is also the expensive confirmation. By the time the average is accepted again, the inventory grab is already done. You are paying after size has lifted.

I didn’t need the market to prove the 50-day to me. I needed to know two things before NVDA:

1. Where the forced sell would show up.

2. How much I was willing to lose if the print kept going.

The 50-day answered the first. The 40-point stop answered the second.

What actually happened

Last week QQQ started testing the 50-day.

This week NVDA was the catalyst. Monday gapped lower. Tuesday tried to get back above the average and closed under it. Wednesday did the same thing.

Those two failed daily reclaims matter. Acceptance was still below the mean. That is why “wait for the close back over the 50” is the conservative version of this trade.

I took the other version: buy the test, not the reclaim.

That only works if the stop is real and defined before the event. Not after. Not widened when NVDA hits. Forty points on NQ was the budget. If the print flushed through that, I was wrong. Next trade.

Holding a binary event without a number is gambling. Holding it with a number is just paying for location.

Why the 50-day shows up at all

Nobody with size is sitting on a moving average because the average is magic.

They need the other side of the trade. The other side lives where the most people agree.

After all-time highs, the 50-day is the first line the street treats as a regime switch: trend still intact, or trend broken. Stops, breakout sells, and “trend is dead” entries all concentrate there.

So the average is a coordination level. A meeting point for orders. Not a signal by itself.

Why I didn’t wait for the reclaim

A reclaim says: the auction accepted value back above the mean.

That is safer. It is also later.

Under the level, three things are happening at once:

• Last week’s longs get stopped.

• New shorts sell the break.

• Size can absorb that combined sell at a better price than they will ever get after a daily close back over.

If you wait for the reclaim, you are buying after that pass is finished. Fine for smaller size and cleaner sleep. Not the best location if you already decided the larger trend is still up and the 50-day is just the first crowded shelf.

The risk of buying under it into earnings is obvious: the print can keep going. That is why the stop cannot be “under the wick somewhere.” It has to be a number you accepted on Monday, not a feeling on the print.

Forty points. Event happens. Either it holds or it doesn’t.

What gets hit under the level

When price is driven through an obvious line, two books hit at once:

1. Longs who bought the first tag last week. Stops sit just under the average.

2. Regime shorts who read “close under the 50” as trend change. They sell after the break.

That combined sell is the liquidity.

Tuesday and Wednesday poking back above and closing under is a separate question: will value be accepted back above the mean? Those failed reclaims reload another book — the people who buy the first close back over. When that fails, they become the next sell. That is why an obvious average can get worked for days.

None of that changes the original long thesis. It just means the market had not accepted the reclaim yet. Location and acceptance are not the same thing.

The actual trade

This was not fade-the-highs. I was not shorting all-time highs.

This was a pullback in an uptrend. Price was sent into the first crowded daily level into a mega-cap print. I bought that location with a fixed stop, not the headline.

The 50-day was just where the orders were. Could have been last week’s higher low. Could have been prior daily demand. Same idea.

A slow grind through a level is a real break. You do not buy that. A fast test into a known event, with risk already defined, is a different animal.

The only part that makes the early entry valid

Long before NVDA is risky. Say it plainly.

What makes it a trade instead of a hope:

• Risk defined before the event, not during it

• 40-point NQ stops already in

• Larger trend still the controlling structure

• The 50-day used as the inventory shelf, not as a crystal ball

If the print took those 40 points, the idea was wrong. No story after that.

This is exactly why I told the room that if NVDA pumped after earnings, MSFT would likely pull back.

That is rotation 101.

When money aggressively flows into one leading sector, it often comes out of another. In this case, capital rotated out of software names like MSFT and into semiconductors following NVDA’s earnings reaction.

NVDA Key Levels

🟢 Bullish above $219.55

If NVDA holds above $219.55, look for another test of the overnight high at $221.01. A clean break above $221.01 could bring another wave of momentum into NVDA and the semiconductor sector.

🔴 Bearish below $214.06

If NVDA loses $214.06, the earnings move could begin fading. The next important support is $212.46.

The longer NVDA holds above these pre-earnings resistance levels, the stronger the setup remains for semiconductor continuation.

SOXL Key Levels

SOXL is the main ticker I’m watching to confirm whether this semiconductor rotation has continuation.

🟢 SOXL above $120

Reclaiming and holding above $120 confirms buyers are staying aggressive in semiconductors. If volume continues building above this level, SOXL can push higher and help carry QQQ with it.

🔴 SOXL below $116.80

The $116.80 area is important support. If SOXL loses this level with volume, do not force calls. That would tell us the NVDA earnings momentum is beginning to fade and could open the door for a deeper pullback.

The larger downside gap-fill level remains near $110.30 if semiconductor strength completely breaks down.

Rotation Between Semiconductors and Software

MSFT’s reaction is a great example of how market rotation works.

NVDA pumped after earnings while MSFT pulled back because money was being reallocated into the semiconductor sector. This does not automatically mean MSFT is bearish long term. It means semiconductors were offering the stronger short-term opportunity.

The key is not chasing every stock at the same time. Identify where liquidity is moving and trade the sector receiving the strongest volume.

For today, watch the relationship between:

• NVDA holding above $219.55

• SOXL reclaiming and holding $120

• MSFT holding or losing its overnight level near $492.25

If NVDA and SOXL remain strong while MSFT stays under pressure, the rotation into semiconductors is still active.

If NVDA fades and SOXL loses $116.80, money could begin rotating back into software or move out of technology altogether.

Game Plan

Semiconductor continuation requires NVDA to hold its earnings move and SOXL to reclaim $120.

Above $120 on SOXL, look for continuation.

Below $116.80, avoid forcing calls and watch for a deeper pullback.

Follow the volume, respect the levels, and do not fight the rotation.

NQ put in a lower high near 30,400 early in the month and spent the rest of the time stair-stepping lower. The sequence of liquidity was clean:

29,817 → 29,310 → 28,928 → 28,401 → 27,190

Each level offered value. Each bounce eventually failed and made a lower high. This is how real downtrends work.

Why Lower Lows Still Get Bought

When the market is making lower highs and lower lows, the dominant force is selling. That part is obvious. What confuses most people is why the lower lows keep getting bought at all.

Three things happen at almost every meaningful lower low:

1. Short covering — Traders who shorted the previous lower high start taking profits. Their buying creates the bounce. This is not new long conviction. It is just shorts getting paid.

2. Liquidity grabs — Price runs into a pool of stops or resting buy orders. Once that liquidity is taken, aggressive selling pressure temporarily dries up.

3. Opportunistic buyers — There are always traders and some funds willing to buy weakness with defined risk underneath the low. Their size is usually smaller than the overall sellers, which is why the bounce often fails.

The result is the staircase:
Lower high → lower low → lower high → lower low.

The bounces are real. The trend remains down because the selling on the rallies is still stronger than the buying on the dips.

The Final Low and Month-End

The last low near 27,190 landed in the final trading days of July. That timing matters.

Month-end brings rebalancing flows, window dressing, and risk reduction. Some of the selling into those final days is mechanical rather than pure directional conviction. When a flush occurs in that window and then starts to hold, institutions treat it as higher quality than a mid-month low. The forced sellers are mostly done, and any real demand has more room to show up.

That does not mean the trend is automatically over. It does mean the probability of a more meaningful bounce increases. You still need absorption and confirmation. You just get a better location.

The Bigger Picture: Rotation

Underneath the NQ price action was a clear institutional rotation. Big funds aggressively exited semis and rotated back into the stronger Big Tech names. Semis got destroyed. Weaker Mag 7 names kept bleeding. AAPL and AMZN became the relative strength destinations.

This is where the real opportunity sat.

The AMZN Trade

The conviction started early.

On July 2 we saw large call sweeps in AMZN (300 strikes, October expiration) totaling over $1.7M in premium. On July 10 there was another clear signal — a $1.21M golden sweep on the 260s (August 21 expiration) plus additional size higher up the chain.

That flow, combined with the broader rotation out of semis and into stronger Big Tech, was the reason I started buying the August 21 calls on every meaningful dip.

The thesis was straightforward: the options market was showing real demand, earnings were likely to show AWS re-acceleration, and institutions were already rotating into the names that could prove the AI spend was converting into revenue.

I got down roughly 40% on the position.

I kept adding.

Most retail traders would have been long gone by that point. The pain becomes psychological. The “this is no longer working” story takes over. Institutions do not think that way. They think in terms of maximum acceptable loss and whether the original thesis is still intact.

My hard limit was $12,000 on the entire trade. Every add still lived inside that number. Once we approached it, size stopped. That single constraint is what separated high-conviction scaling from pure recklessness.

Earnings dropped. AWS grew 37%. The stock ripped hard. That underwater position became one of my biggest winners of the year.

The Follow-Through

What happened next matters just as much.

The buying did not stop after the initial earnings reaction. AMZN continued higher and pushed through $3 trillion in market value for the first time. The broader tape responded with a strong early-August rally off the July lows. The same names that absorbed the rotation in late July (stronger Big Tech) led the bounce, while the crowded areas that got punished stayed more selective.

This is what institutional follow-through looks like. The thesis was validated, the positioning was already in place, and the market kept rewarding the names that proved they could convert the AI spend into real growth.

What Actually Matters

I’ve been doing this long enough to recognize the patterns:

• Retail gets forced out at the exact levels institutions are happy to absorb.

• Liquidity bursts on the way down are not random. They are the market providing inventory.

• The same rotation that creates traps in one sector creates opportunity in another.

• Conviction without a hard risk limit is just ego. Defined risk with conviction is how the real money trades.

The NQ longs throughout the month were cleaner and more mechanical. The AMZN position was the higher-conviction outlier. Both worked because the approach stayed the same: define the risk first, then press when the structure and flow align.

That’s the difference between surviving these environments and getting run over by them.

Looking Ahead: August and Q3

July closed with two clear signals.

The final low near month-end carried extra weight because of calendar-driven flows. And the rotation out of semis into the stronger Big Tech names was confirmed in real time by AMZN’s post-earnings response and the continued buying that followed.

That sets the tone for August and the rest of Q3.

The Fed under Warsh
Chair Kevin Warsh has made his stance clear. The July FOMC held rates at 3.50–3.75%, but it was a hawkish hold. Three members dissented in favor of an immediate hike. Warsh has repeatedly emphasized there is “no soft target” — the only inflation target is 2%. He has also moved away from heavy forward guidance, preferring shorter statements and less hand-holding for markets.

The bar for easing is high. Any persistent inflation data in August (especially the upcoming CPI) will keep the September meeting in play for a potential hike. That keeps a lid on indiscriminate risk-taking and favors selectivity over broad beta.

Who leads from here
Leadership should remain narrow and quality-driven.

The names that can demonstrate the AI spend is actually converting into growth (AMZN just did this) are positioned to continue attracting institutional flow. AAPL has also shown relative resilience through the rotation.

Crowded semiconductor names that ran hard earlier in the year are likely to stay more volatile until positioning fully resets. The market is no longer treating the entire AI complex as one trade. It is differentiating between the spenders who can show returns and the suppliers that got ahead of the fundamental payoff.

How to approach it
August will bring the usual catalysts — jobs, CPI, and ongoing policy debate. Those will create noise and short-term traps.

The edge remains the same as July:

• Respect structure and liquidity levels.

• Stay aware of where the rotation is flowing.

• Define the maximum loss before adding size.

This is still a market that rewards institutions who wait for forced selling and punishes retail that chases every bounce. The framework does not change just because the calendar flipped.

I bought calls because QQQ reached 682.80.

That difference—reacting to color versus executing at a preplanned location—is what separates impulsive options trading from a repeatable process.

The trade was exciting. The real lesson is everything that happened before I clicked “buy.”

The option contract is only the vehicle. The edge comes from location, confirmation, timing, and risk.

The Power Hour trade—in under 60 seconds

Here is the setup you’ll see unfold in the recording:

• QQQ was selling into a major daily gap-fill and low-volume area near 682.80–683.

• The current selloff was occurring on less volume than the previous session’s decline, suggesting that bearish pressure was not expanding at the same rate.

• I waited for the level instead of chasing QQQ above it.

• I entered the QQQ 685 calls around $0.36, added lightly near $0.29, and brought the average to approximately $0.34.

• QQQ needed to hold or reclaim 682.80 while UVXY weakened below its opening-range area near 25.35–25.36.

• SOXL reclaiming approximately 136.40–136.50 offered additional confirmation that money was rotating back toward semiconductors and risk-on technology.

• I trimmed half the position as the premium expanded by roughly 25%, then closed the remaining contracts near $0.61–$0.62.

• I later took a quick SPX trade as the same macro level held, finishing the Power Hour session two for two.

Notice what is missing from that list:

There was no random entry, no blind alert, and no assumption that a support line had to hold.

The market had to prove the thesis.

My framework: trade where the market must make a decision

Retail traders often fill their charts with dozens of lines. I am interested in something more specific:

Where are the largest groups of market participants likely to be forced to respond?

Those decision zones can develop around:

• Daily and weekly gap fills

• High-volume nodes and points of control

• Low-volume nodes

• Value-area highs and lows

• Previous daily or weekly highs and lows

• Opening ranges

• Large concentrations of options positioning

• Obvious liquidity and stop-loss clusters

• Major psychological strikes

These levels matter because they represent areas of prior acceptance, rejection, unfinished auction activity, concentrated positioning, or potential hedging demand.

They are not magical lines. They are locations where the market’s next decision can become visible.

1. Start with the highest-time-frame map

Before I look for a one-minute entry, I want to know what the daily, four-hour, and one-hour charts are communicating.

In this session, the daily gap near 682.80 created the macro location. The shorter time frames were only used to determine whether buyers were actually defending it.

This is why I constantly tell traders:

When in doubt, zoom out.

A five-minute candle can look terrifying while price is simply completing a daily gap fill. It can also look bullish while running directly into a major higher-time-frame supply zone. Context changes the meaning of every candle.

2. Use volume profile to understand the auction

Volume profile shows where business was conducted—not merely when it happened.

• A high-volume node is an area where the market previously accepted price and conducted significant business. Price may rotate, consolidate, or return there.

• A low-volume node (LVN) is an area where the market moved through quickly or previously rejected price. When revisited, it can produce a sharp response—or accelerate price if it fails.

• The point of control is the price with the greatest amount of traded volume for the selected profile.

• The value area generally contains the central concentration of the profile’s traded volume.

QQQ reaching a daily gap fill near a low-volume area gave me the location. It did not give me permission to enter blindly.

I still needed acceptance, rejection, volume, and volatility to align.

3. Track liquidity—not just candlesticks

Markets frequently travel toward areas containing resting orders, breakout entries, and clustered stops.

That is why price can briefly move below a widely watched level, trigger stops, fill larger orders, and then reverse. Traders call this a liquidity sweep. But a wick alone does not confirm one.

I look for the sequence:

1. Price trades into or through the mapped liquidity.

2. The level is reclaimed or defended.

3. Order flow and volume begin confirming the response.

4. Correlated markets stop fighting the trade.

5. Price earns continuation.

At 682.80, I was not betting that QQQ was incapable of moving lower. I was testing whether the market would reject lower prices from a preplanned macro zone.

That is a completely different trade.

Where gamma exposure enters the equation 🧠

Gamma is the rate at which an option’s delta changes as the underlying asset moves. In plain English, gamma helps explain why an option can suddenly become much more responsive as price approaches or moves through an important strike—especially close to expiration.

Gamma exposure, or GEX, is an estimate of how aggregate options positioning may influence dealer hedging behavior. It is not a perfect view of every dealer’s book, and different platforms may calculate or label it differently, but it can help identify areas where hedging flows may suppress or amplify movement.

In a positive-gamma environment

Dealers’ hedging activity may tend to counter the move:

• Buying as price falls

• Selling as price rises

That behavior can compress volatility, pin price near large strikes, and create the frustrating back-and-forth movement we saw before the QQQ trade expanded.

In a negative-gamma environment

Dealer hedging may reinforce the move:

• Selling as price falls

• Buying as price rises

That can increase realized volatility and help price accelerate once a major level breaks or reclaims.

Why this matters for short-dated options

Gamma becomes especially sensitive near at-the-money strikes and close to expiration. That is why 0DTE and other short-dated contracts can sit nearly motionless during consolidation and then reprice violently when the underlying clears a critical area.

This is also why traders get destroyed when they enter too early:

• Theta is working against the option.

• Positive-gamma hedging can keep price pinned.

• Implied volatility can contract.

• A cheap out-of-the-money contract can become cheaper before the move ever begins.

The solution is not simply “buy more time” or “buy cheaper contracts.”

The solution is to combine the gamma map with price location, volume, volatility, and confirmation.

Gamma can accelerate a good setup. It cannot rescue a bad entry.

How institutional levels and gamma work together

Imagine QQQ is trading near 683 and there is meaningful options positioning around nearby strikes.

The key question is not only, “Is 683 support?”

The better questions are:

• Is 683 a daily gap fill, LVN, value boundary, or major liquidity zone?

• Is price being accepted below it or quickly reclaimed?

• Is volume expanding with the move or fading?

• Is volatility confirming or opposing the trade?

• Are semiconductors and major technology names participating?

• Is dealer hedging more likely to pin price—or amplify a move away from the strike?

• Is there enough time left for the option premium to respond?

If price remains trapped near a large positive-gamma strike, I expect more chop and I keep risk controlled.

If price reclaims a macro level, volume arrives, volatility weakens, and the market escapes the pinning zone, gamma can help turn a small move in the underlying into a much larger percentage move in the option.

That is the opportunity I am hunting.

Not a green candle.

A transition in market structure.

The confirmations I used in this trade

QQQ: 682.80–683 had to hold or reclaim

This was the daily gap-fill and macro decision zone. A sustained close below it would weaken or invalidate the bullish reversal thesis.

UVXY: 25.35–25.36 had to weaken

QQQ calls become less attractive when volatility products are holding strength. I wanted UVXY below its opening-range level to confirm that fear was cooling and risk assets had room to expand.

SOXL: approximately 136.40–136.50 had to reclaim

Semiconductors are a major source of confirmation for technology momentum. If QQQ is attempting to bounce while semiconductors continue losing support, the trade has less alignment.

Volume had to build

The first pop was not enough. I repeatedly pointed out that the market still lacked follow-through volume. The move became more trustworthy only as buyers began participating and price reclaimed the high-volume concentration near 684.

Timing mattered

Options do not only require the right direction. They require the move to happen before time decay and volatility changes damage the premium.

That is why I focused on Power Hour and the final scheduled windows of the session. The longer QQQ remained pinned, the less attractive it became to keep paying for short-dated convexity.

My decision tree at a major level

When price reaches an institutional zone, I prepare for multiple outcomes:

Level holds + volume expands + volatility weakens:
Look for calls or bullish exposure with defined risk.

Price sweeps below the level and quickly reclaims it:
Look for evidence that stops were cleared and buyers are taking control.

Price accepts below the level with expanding sell volume:
The bullish thesis is invalid or delayed. Do not keep averaging into a broken setup.

Price holds but volume never arrives:
Reduce risk, take available profits, or wait. A correct level can still produce a poor options trade if the move happens too slowly.

That last scenario is important.

During this session, the QQQ calls moved into profit, returned near breakeven, and then expanded again. The level remained accurate, but the lack of volume made the path uncomfortable. Traders who sized too aggressively would have made an emotional decision before the thesis had time to develop.

Your size determines whether normal market movement feels like information or an emergency.

What most traders get wrong

Most traders ask:

“Calls or puts?”

Professional-level preparation asks:

“At what price, under what conditions, with which expiration, and what proves me wrong?”

The goal is not to predict every candle. The goal is to identify asymmetric locations where your invalidation is clear and the potential expansion is larger than the capital you are risking.

That requires:

• A macro map

• A liquidity map

• A volume map

• A volatility trigger

• A gamma framework

• A sector confirmation

• A defined exit

When those pieces align, options can reprice quickly.

When they do not align, the best trade may be no trade.

The biggest lesson from this recording

The win was not buying QQQ 685 calls near the low.

The win was waiting all day for 682.80 instead of inventing a trade in the middle of the range.

The win was recognizing that lower sell volume did not automatically mean “buy.” It meant the bears still needed to prove themselves.

The win was trimming when the market paid us, keeping the remaining position manageable, and refusing to turn a profitable session into an ego contest.

And the win was accepting that even the right level can feel wrong before the market confirms it.

The edge was never the contract. The edge was the map.

Some of the best options trades don’t begin with chasing a candle. They begin while price is trapped inside a range, quietly building liquidity above resistance and below support.

That is exactly what we’re seeing now.

These ranges can produce some of the cleanest options opportunities because once price escapes, the move can accelerate rapidly toward the next gap or liquidity target. But there is a catch:

The opportunity is at the edges. The danger is in the middle.

QQQ: Two Levels, Two Gap-Fill Scenarios

QQQ is currently trading inside a major higher-time-frame liquidity pool.

Here is my roadmap:

• Clean break and acceptance above 698.80: Bullish confirmation with a potential gap-fill move toward 703.60.

• Clean break and acceptance below 686: Bearish confirmation with the next gap-fill target near 682.

• Between 686 and 698.80: Higher-risk territory where both buyers and sellers can get trapped.

Whichever level breaks and holds first should determine the next short-term directional bias.

The middle of this range is not where I want to become overly aggressive. This is where liquidity is being exchanged, false breakouts are common and options traders can lose money even when their broader directional idea is eventually correct.

Premium decay, volatility changes and repeated reversals can punish traders who enter without confirmation.

The goal is not to predict the breakout. The goal is to already have the roadmap before it happens.

Be Careful With Higher-Time-Frame Bearish Pin Bars

One formation every trader should understand in this environment is the bearish pin bar.

A bearish pin bar generally contains:

• A long upper wick

• A relatively small real body

• A close near the lower portion of the candle

• Evidence that buyers pushed price higher but could not maintain control

On a higher time frame—especially the four-hour, daily or weekly chart—a bearish pin bar can represent meaningful rejection.

But context matters.

A bearish pin bar forming directly beneath resistance, following a liquidity sweep or inside an overextended move carries more weight than one forming randomly in the middle of a range.

Most importantly, a pin bar is not automatic confirmation to buy puts.

I want to see what happens afterward:

• Does the next candle confirm the rejection?

• Does price remain beneath the pin bar’s high?

• Does market structure begin making lower highs?

• Was meaningful volume present during the rejection?

• Did the candle form at an important higher-time-frame level?

Remember this:

The wick shows where liquidity was taken. The close shows who responded. The next candle confirms whether they actually maintained control.

Inside the QQQ range, pin bars can become traps. At the boundaries, supported by confirmation, they can become powerful signals.

TSLA: “Discount” Does Not Automatically Mean Bottom

TSLA may look extremely discounted after its recent decline, but inexpensive and investable are not always the same thing.

This is a name where I would be especially careful until we begin seeing legitimate signs of bullish divergence.

A regular bullish divergence develops when:

• Price makes a lower low

• An indicator such as RSI or MACD forms a higher low

• Selling pressure continues, but downside momentum begins weakening

That does not guarantee an immediate reversal. It tells us the sellers may be losing momentum and gives us a reason to begin watching for price confirmation.

The strongest bullish-divergence setups usually include:

1. A lower low in price

2. A higher low in momentum

3. A reclaim of nearby market structure

4. Expanding buying volume

5. A successful retest that holds

TSLA’s current levels may scream “discount,” but I am not interested in confusing an oversold condition with a confirmed reversal.

The real buyers begin proving themselves above 343.50.

Until TSLA can reclaim and hold that level, any bounce can still be short covering or a temporary reaction rather than the beginning of a sustainable trend reversal.

GOOGL is approaching a level that could become an ignition point for momentum.

A clean break and hold above 325.50 could send price through the nearby gap extremely fast.

Gaps and low-acceptance areas can produce fast movement because there may be less established trading activity between price and its next destination. Once momentum enters, traders waiting for the “perfect” entry can quickly find themselves watching from the sidelines.

That is why 325.50 needs to be on the chart before the move begins.

For premium sellers and longer-term LEAP buyers, 306.50 is the major level on my radar.

This is not an automatic entry. It is an area where I would begin looking for stabilization, seller exhaustion, bullish divergence and evidence of buyers defending the level.

Premium sellers must still account for assignment risk, while LEAP buyers should remain aware that longer expiration does not eliminate directional or volatility risk.

The level creates the opportunity. Price action provides the confirmation.

This level acts as institutional equilibrium.

Markets constantly ask one simple question:

Are buyers willing to pay above value?

or

Are sellers willing to accept prices below value?

Trading above the weekly open generally signals institutions are willing to continue accepting higher prices.

Trading below it often shifts order flow toward sellers until buyers regain control.

At the moment, NQ remains below this level, making 29,950 one of the biggest upside references if buyers regain momentum.

Friday’s Liquidity Concentration

One area that stood out immediately from Friday’s profile was the enormous concentration of liquidity between:

29,820 — 29,863

This wasn’t just another volume node.

This represented a significant area where buyers and sellers repeatedly transacted, creating a high-volume acceptance zone.

High Volume Nodes (HVNs) typically behave like magnets.

Price frequently:

• Revisits them

• Tests them

• Rejects them

• Uses them for balance before the next directional move

As long as price remains below this zone, it becomes resistance.

If buyers reclaim it, it can quickly transition back into support and become a launching point toward higher liquidity above.

Around 12:48 PM PST we started approaching what I call our algorithm hour. Volume had already cooled off, which meant the next expansion move wasn’t going to come from retail participation — it was going to come from positioning.

At the same time:

• VIX stayed below its opening range

• ADD stayed above +1000

• TICK started printing in bullish territory

• Price rejected the opening range lows

That’s confluence.

That’s not guessing.
That’s the market telling you where money is about to move next.

So what did we do?

We waited for confirmation, then started looking at fast-moving contracts like the 6825s / 6830s on SPX and even the 601 calls on QQQ as they started getting in-the-money into the close.

And this is where most traders mess it up…

They enter correctly —
…but they don’t know how to manage premium speed.

When contracts are moving fast into Power Hour, you don’t wait for the retrace to sell.

You sell into the pop.

Because what I told the room was simple:

“You’re going to get your best exits on the pops. If it retraces, it might be harder to get that same price at the next pop.”

Premiums into the close don’t give you second chances.

So we trimmed into strength, reduced exposure on expansion moves, and if anyone wanted to continue risking into the 12:50 window — we set trail stops so you get taken out automatically if the move fails.

No guessing.
No emotional exits.
No giving back profits trying to be a hero into the bell.

Just structured entries → expansion → trim → trail.

Why Monday, Wednesday, and Friday Matter

This exact setup shows up the most on:

• Monday (new weekly positioning)

• Wednesday (mid-week rebalancing)

• Friday (weekly settlement flows)

These are the days where funds have to get exposure before the week closes out.

And when positioning becomes urgent into the final 15 minutes… premiums don’t move 5%…

They move 20%
30%
Sometimes 50%+

The best part?

You’re entering late in the day —
which means your defined risk is smaller…

…but the directional expansion into the close can still pay you like you entered at the open.
