Hello dear friends,

First of all, thank you for being here. We’re so grateful and happy that you’ve chosen to be a part of our community. Words truly can’t explain how much it means to us. That’s also why it’s so important to us that attending the book club is accessible, easy and full of joy for you.

Through feedback from you guys, we’ve learned that that’s not entirely the case at the moment. At the moment, to attend the book club events, you have to be a paid subscriber, paying a monthly fee. But as the book club has grown in popularity, many of you are experiencing not being able to get a ticket, even though you are a paying subscriber. We understand how frustrating that must be. So we’ve decided to change that. From now on:

To attend the book club, you don’t have to be a paid subscriber. You simply purchase a ticket. We will use a ticket system and it will be first come, first served as always. Ticket prices will change depending on the setup - sometimes they will be free, with the opportunity to buy drinks and food at the venue, and other times there will be a fixed price to attend.

However, we’re not letting go of our paid subscription community - we adore this intimate community space with you way too much. We adore sharing monthly articles & interviews with you and we love our group chat talks about books. But we are making some changes to the paid subscription, the first one being lowering the price. At the moment the price is set at 114 DKK a month (excluding the substack charge). We are lowering that to 79 DKK (excluding the substack charge).

For that price, as a paid subscriber, you get:

• early access to all book & film events - we will allocate the majority of the tickets to the paid subscribers and you get access to the tickets one hour before everyone else

• occasional extra events only for the paid subscriber community (we have some exciting, new events coming up!)

• occasional extra goodies such as discount codes, goodies from our brand partners and Pages in Places book marks

• access to our group chat where we chat all things book and film recommendations, monthly book discussions and more

• an opportunity to influence the monthly book & film choices (more on that soon!)

• monthly articles, interviews and more BTS content

This means, that if you continue to be a part of our paid subscriber community, you get early access to the tickets one hour before everyone else. You access that through substack, as always.

If you’re not a paid subscriber you get access one hour after the paid subs, via a link that we will share on our Instagram. We will of course keep you notified on what days the tickets will be for sale, so you don’t miss out.

We’re hoping that this will make it easier and more accessible for you guys - that way you don’t have to pay monthly if it doesn’t suit you. However, we’re of course hoping that some of you will still want to stay in this cozy little inner circle with us - we promise, there are so many great things coming for our paid subscribers <3

This journey so far has been a whirlwind of emotions. We could have never imagined we would gain this much popularity this quickly and we were just not fully prepared for all the challenges that comes with that. Therefore we hope you can have a little patience with us. We’re still so new to this and truly trying to find the best solutions to continue our wonderful book club community in a way that feels good for everyone <3

a few additional things to note about your subscription:

• you can cancel your paid subscription anytime

• if you are a paid subscriber but want the lower rate, you have to cancel your subscription and sign up again. This is due to how substack works and not something we can fix unfortunately.

• please note that we cannot guarantee you a spot, even if you are a paid subscriber. The chances to get a ticket are higher as a paid subscriber, but not guaranteed. However, we strive to create as many events as possible and we are also working on bigger events so we can accommodate more of you. We really hope to see you at an event and will do our best to make this possible!
