This is a callout to private and public service workers.

To caregivers:

Have you lost the fire of your call?

Or never had the fire for the assignment to begin with?

Confused.

Flustered.

Overwhelmed.

Discouraged.

Double-minded.

Doubtful.

Wounded.

Or just plain dog-tired.

Spiritually.

Physically.

Mentally.

Emotionally.

The Lord God of your salvation declares through His Word:

I gotchu!

Wounded, come be restored.

Dog-tired, come be strengthened.

Confused, come receive wisdom.

2 Timothy 1:6–7

“For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God... for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”

But if you have lost, or never had, the heart to care about the people entrusted to you...

Selah.

Tactical Pause.

Come out from behind the cover of that uniform, title, credentials, or position.

Caring for people is Kingdom work.

And in God’s Kingdom, the greatest serve.

Mark 10:43–45

“Whoever would be great among you must be your servant... For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve.”

This work requires more than you occupying that post.

Actually caring about the people entrusted to you, no matter who they are, is a non-negotiable requirement.

After decades of studying mental and psychological warfare, I discovered another vulnerability hidden in plain sight.

No matter how much I trained, or trained others, in the skills of counter-influence, I was befuddled by how we could still be deceived.

Turns out, when we test everything against what we have already accepted as truth, while never testing the assumptions underneath it, the trap snaps shut.

We can continue to blame the devil if we want.

Yes, he deceives.

Do we test it even though it feels good?

What about when it sounds familiar?

Confirms our training and experience?

What if it protects our identity?

Here’s a good one: What about when it agrees with those whom we deeply trust?

Or do we give them all a pass?

That’s an open breach, beloved.

We remain vulnerable to the headshot of a lie.

Counter-influence is more than questioning what is being presented to us.

Who wrote the prescription for the glasses you’re lookin’ through?

Are we also questioning the prescription?

Are we testing our assumptions against Scripture, evidence, context, wise counsel, observable fruit, and the strongest opposing case?

And are we willing to let Scripture correct our vision?

Otherwise, we can become highly trained at challenging everybody else’s thinking while remaining blind to the vulnerabilities in our own.

And we still fall for the lie.

“Test everything; hold fast what is good.”

1 Thessalonians 5:21

“The one who states his case first seems right, until the other comes and examines him.”

Yacht or Warship?

What kind of vessel are you really on. and what kind of vessel are you called to be?

Going to church expecting to be served on a yacht, rather than reporting for duty to serve under the command of a warship.

Leaders looking to command a yacht, rather than carry the responsibility of commanding a warship.

Not every church, ministry, or spiritual environment is preparing people for the same mission.

Beware of those who manipulate, intimidate, violate your privacy, or cross healthy boundaries to make you question your decision to obey Father as He cleanses and purifies your life from the comforts that hinder what He is perfecting in you.

Your wellness is not being protected there.

When Father tells you to turn away, don’t let guilt or coercion pull you back to where you’re not supposed to be right now.

In your turning away, letting go, and putting off, you yield more of your life to Father’s will.

Giving Him more room to work.

Do not offer Him a portion of what He requires in full.

The Storm Reveals the Vessel

After the midnight hour, when the circumstances are the darkest, the storm will expose the yacht as unfit and unsafe.

In the fog of battle, the yacht may leave its passengers and crew exposed, disoriented, and vulnerable.

But the vessel Father assigns for battle will be seaworthy, rated to withstand the most violent of storms.

Operating under the power and authority of Heaven.

Equipped with prayer, truth, discernment, disciplined leadership, trained people, protective systems, rescue capacity, practical care, treatment, and recovery.

Rest assured that not every vessel presented as a warship is built for battle.

You best believe, the storm will reveal what the vessel was truly built to endure and carry.

“Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God.” — 2 Corinthians 7:1

“So therefore, any one of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple.” — Luke 14:33

“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.” — Matthew 7:24–25

Selah.

“This phrase, ‘Yet once more,’ indicates the removal of things that are shaken — that is, things that have been made — in order that the things that cannot be shaken may remain. Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe.” — Hebrews 12:27–28
