It is worth reiterating the mechanical reality of liquidity: it is neither magical nor abstract. Liquidity points simply represent price levels where dense order clusters accumulate (SSL or BSL). Institutional market participants require vast counterparty volume to fill large orders, forcing price to expand directly into these high-density pools. Because market movement is dictated by order execution, accurately identifying where these order clusters rest is fundamental to building an edge.

Paradoxically, the more you keep watching the chart for reassurance, the more you amplify your anxiety.

Your actions make the motive behind those actions stronger. In other words, the more you look, the more you reinforce the feeling that “this one result in front of you matters.”

This is extremely dangerous because it runs directly against probabilistic thinking.

The more important this one result in front of you becomes, the further you move away from probabilistic thinking. Even though you need to keep following your rules consistently, the feelings of “I want to win” and “I don’t want to lose” grow stronger, making it harder to follow your rules.

Probabilistic trading requires you to keep following your rules no matter what happens. You will have to take a stop according to your rules, take another stop, and at times go through a losing streak while still following your rules. That too is doing the job correctly. If you place too much importance on the one trade in front of you at times like that, you will suffer.

Build a structure that makes the process safe and robust enough that the one result in front of you no longer matters to you, test it again and again across large sample sizes, practice it, and make your trust in results over the long term unshakable.

Turn emotional gambling into a job where all you do is “wait and click.”

In other words: taking a stop loss exactly where your rules mandate is an active component of your statistical edge.
