COUNCILOR RESIGNATION

Councilor Jackie Strack has resigned from her Ward 3 Council position, due to relocating out of state. Her resignation will trigger a special election for that Ward in the November elections. The resignation was announced by the Clinton County Board of Elections on Wednesday, July 1st effective immediately.

The City of Plattsburgh Common Council held a public hearing on Wednesday for new local law P-1 of 2026, and approved it unanimously shortly thereafter during the regular meeting. The new law places minimum job requirements on future high-energy-intensive consumers, crypto mining operations, blockchain validation facilities, and large-scale data centers in Plattsburgh.
