Precisely because there is so much overhead, recovering 7656 could still produce some countertrend price action toward the upper levels. The quality of that move matters. A quick rejection would leave the weaker structure intact, while sustained recovery would begin to repair the immediate damage.

For 0DTE, acceptance below 7656 increases directional relevance while raising risk to premium structures leaning on support. A recovery back above 7656 changes the character toward countertrend repair, but the overhead levels would still define how far that repair can develop.

Just to get up to speed: we had the low on the 24th - perfect. Price moved above 7682 - fine. It tagged 7744 - yes. Then it tried to settle above, failed, and gave us the expected test of 7682.

The channel played a role in that sequence, and now price is stuck below it as well. That leaves the market back in familiar terrain rather than building a new structural argument.

For today, expect messy conditions between 7682 and 7714, which is roughly the midpoint of the broader bracket. If price can lift above 7714, look for improving strength. Below it, the same chop remains, with weaker conditions if 7682 gives way.

Without clean settlement above or below 7744, look for the usual slop around the level. Any weakness can rotate toward the lower channel line or, if the pullback deepens, the familiar 7682 level.

Following the pattern, price retested the 7744 Field Map level at 11:12 and traded lower. It then mean reverted around 7723 for the balance of the day. Slipping below 7744 was negative and kept the late-session structure on the weaker side.

Moves (2) and (3) were plain expansions away from the Fuseline, not additional named patterns. When movement is that fast, there is no time for a pattern to develop. That absence is also valuable information: urgency replaced structure.

For 0DTE, the fast expansions created directional opportunity but made timing and chase risk more important. They also increased risk to premium structures relying on containment. Once price failed to recover 7744 and settled into mean reversion around 7723, the structural character changed again.

Price has rejected 7744, so some backing and filling would make sense. The quality of any rotation toward 7682 should define the day. If the pullback finds structural support before reaching that level, another reversal toward 7744 remains possible.

A full test of 7682 would point to sloppier conditions continuing into tomorrow. The broader bracket remains unchanged: 7656 support to 7744 resistance. A break below 7656 matters only if price cannot recover it; that would bring additional weakness back into the structure, with 7623 underneath.

Price then rolled over one more time and retested the Fuseline. It held above again and drifted into the close between 7725 and 7744 Field Map resistance. Yes, there was also a HangFire at 13:56 for +19 points—but we’re keeping the record focused on the larger Ricochet move.

For 0DTE, the clean Ricochet supported directional expansion away from the Fuseline. Once price returned to containment between established levels, the structure became more constructive for defined-risk premium decisions than for chasing direction inside the bracket.

Price looks stable above 7682 and is finally getting out of the descending channel. For now, the mean-reversion level appears to be 7682.

Grinding and yawning above it is fine. Below it, we may get a little more bear trapping(?) unless price slips through 7656 and cannot recover.

The next meaningful test is 7744. That level is not only resistance, but also roughly the 50% retracement area of the recent decline. Reaching it would improve the countertrend move, although settlement matters more than another touch.

A move below 7656 can still behave like a false break if price recovers quickly. Get stuck beneath it and the structure changes.

So the map is fairly plain: stable above 7682, resistance at 7744, and a more serious problem only if 7656 gives way and stays that way.

The Breakdown

At 8:32, price spiked the 7682 Field Map resistance and ran straight down to 7656 support. What more can you ask from two levels on a chart? :-)

Technically, that spike lower came at the end of a fairly large HellFire that had been brewing for about two hours. The problem was not the pattern. It was the speed. The entire move developed in roughly three bars.

Price bounced from 7656 support and crossed back above the 7677 Fuseline at 10:44. The recovery tested 7682, failed, and rolled over.

The next move below 7677 marked the third cross of the Fuseline and confirmed a MisFire. MisFire it was. Price spent the balance of the day drifting sideways around the line into the close.

For 0DTE, the opening move was too fast to frame cleanly. Once the third cross confirmed the MisFire, directional structure gave way to chop and mean reversion between proven Field Map boundaries.

The equity indices and commodity markets have separated into two distinct structures. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq rejected geometric resistance and established lower highs, while crude oil, metals, grains, and soft commodities held higher balance points or completed breakouts.

That divergence is the central condition heading into the coming week. Equity weakness remains corrective unless lower support breaks, but commodities have moved beyond potential setups and into validation. Correlation has apparently taken the week off without filing the usual paperwork.

Indices

The S&P 500 and Nasdaq encountered resistance at their upper geometric levels, produced false breaks, and moved back into corrective structure. SPX rejected the 7818 square, while ES remains below 7750 and NQ is capped beneath the 30,200 box resistance.

For now, the indices have established lower highs rather than confirmed larger reversals. The distinction matters. NQ holding below 30,200 and ES below 7750 preserve the immediate corrective structure, but both markets still have defined support underneath them.

SPX has a support band between 7625 and 7582. NQ’s 29,333 calendar-day pivot provides the more immediate test for the Nasdaq. A daily recovery above the upper resistance levels would invalidate the current weakness and re-establish the prior upward cycle.

The structure remains intact while crude holds above 81. A loss of 79.50 would break the current geometric sequence and return the market to a weaker posture. Until that occurs, the recent move reads as continuation rather than an isolated push into resistance.

First, ES must resolve the area between its 7666 half square and 7750 resistance. NQ’s corresponding test is whether it remains below 30,200 or recovers that box boundary. Until those levels resolve, the equity structure remains corrective rather than conclusively lower.

Second, crude oil must continue to hold 81 if its ABCD sequence is going to remain intact. Gold above 4540 and Silver above 67 provide the corresponding validation in metals.

Third, the Dollar’s response to 99.50 will help determine whether the current cross-asset divergence persists. Below that level, commodity strength retains a coherent intermarket backdrop. Above it, the relationship becomes less clean.

A low good enough to test the 7744 area is in place. That would only be about a 50% retracement, though, so it would not represent a major change in structure by itself.

Hold above 7682 and the next tests are the old 7723 structural pivot, followed by 7744. Those two levels should tell us more about the quality of the countertrend move.

Between 7682 and 7656, a retest of the lows remains in play. If price falls below 7656 and becomes stuck there, the next argument develops inside the 7623-7656 support area marked on the chart.

Lows are inherently dirty, so be careful. :-/

It goes without saying that great support can produce great movement when it gives way. So there is that. :-)

The old 7723 structural pivot is the first resistance test. The response there should tell us something about the quality of the recovery. Holding above it would improve the immediate structure, but 7744 remains the larger recovery marker.

Below 7744, the broader structure stays weak. If the bounce fails, major support remains between 7623 and 7656.

The descending channel added yesterday continues to frame the move. Price is working from its lower half, so the channel and 7723 resistance may combine to test how much strength this bounce actually carries.

The clean read is straightforward: 7682 produced the bounce, 7723 tests its quality, and 7744 defines whether broader repair can begin.

Strictly working with the Fuseline, price confirmed a Spring at 12:52. The cross back below 7685, retest from underneath, and continuation carried price +26 into the low of day near 7656.

The broader sequence began earlier. Price failed at 7744 Field Map resistance, then lost the old 7723 pivot and sold off sharply into the open. The 7685 Fuseline was posted just as the first countertrend recovery was beginning.
