I’ve got a small beef with everyone following this Substack… YES, all of you!
Okay, maybe not everyone sha 😅

So, it’s been over two months since I last posted here, and only a few folks reached out to ask what was going on. Can you imagine?

But anyway, I forgive you all. Let’s move on 🫶🏾

Now, to the main tea—why haven’t I written anything in so long?

Well… my laptop gave up the ghost out of nowhere 😂😂

Backstory: I got this laptop back in 2020 (shoutout to my parents for buying it!) during my first year of university. It’s been with me ever since. Then, after writing my last post, The Antidote, the laptop decided it needed its own antidote 🏃🏾‍♂️💨

Fast forward to last week—I finally took it in for repairs. And guess what? To everyone’s surprise (including mine), the laptop was perfectly fine. Just like that. No drama. No issues.

Which means… I’M BACK! Like I never left 🕺🏾🕺🏾

That said, life has been moving FAST. I’m now busier than I’ve been in months. And my writing assistant (yes, I’m calling her out 👀) has completely refused to write on my behalf. I know she’ll read this… maybe God will touch her heart sha.

So here's the deal: I can no longer promise weekly posts. It's a lot to juggle right now.
(Unless, of course, you all become paid subscribers… in which case, what else am I doing with my time? Just kidding… or not 😂😂)

But I can promise you’ll get at least one post every month. And when I have more time, I might just surprise you with weekly ones again.

Remember, the heart of this Substack is to share my thoughts, meditations, and reflections. From the very start, I promised to bring you along on my journey—in life and in ministry—sharing lessons learned, victories won, defeats faced, and challenges wrestled through. All that, along with scriptures, prayers, and practical encouragement to help you stay grounded in the faith and purpose.

So yeah, no pressure… make una no vex for me o 🙏🏾

This week has been tasking for me—yes o, tasking, in fact, very tasking! You remember last week when I encouraged you guys to #DoBetter? Well, I decided to lead by example. I finally started my fitness journey—something that’s been sitting on my goals list for like three years now. But let me tell you, I didn’t know I signed up for pains all week! If you laugh, ehn… 😂😂. As I’m typing this, I’m still feeling it in my bones. But the good news? I started. Small wins, right?

Now, while I was reflecting (and nursing my sore muscles of course 😂), I remembered an illustration I read somewhere a while back that perfectly describes the human condition.

The Poison in the Tea

Imagine a cup of tea made in a fancy Italian café by a top-tier barista using the finest tea leaves. Then, imagine another cup of tea brewed in a motor park by a hawker using an old, rusty kettle—you know, those ones from meshai spots (which, by the way, I consider one of God’s blessings to Nigerians—our very own English breakfast!😍). Naturally, people will gravitate toward the Italian café tea because of its presentation, prestige, and maybe even the taste.

But here’s the twist: what if both cups of tea had just one drop of poison in them? Suddenly, it wouldn’t matter how fancy the café was or how rough the motor park seemed. Nobody would touch either cup. The poison makes both equally dangerous.

This, my friend, is the condition of humanity.

The “Italian café tea” represents people we often celebrate as morally excellent—think Mother Teresa, Mahatma Gandhi, and the like. The “motor park tea,” on the other hand, symbolizes people society views as morally corrupt—figures like Adolf Hitler, Osama Bin Laden, Shekau etc. Most people see themselves somewhere in between, not quite saints, but definitely not villains either.

But here’s the truth: no matter who you are, where you're from, or what good you’ve done, the entire human race—everyone born since Adam’s fall—has been contaminated by a deadly poison called sin. It doesn’t discriminate based on gender, race, social class, or achievements. Just like that poisoned tea, no amount of goodness or self-improvement can remove the poison or make the poisoned tea good. The playing field is level, and the effect of sin is fatal.

For the wages of sin is death….. - Romans 6:23

The Antidote

Clearly, something must be done—we need an antidote. Without it, there’s no escaping the consequences of sin. The Bible tells us plainly:

“Without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sin.” — Hebrews 9:22

In other words, the only way to completely erase (remission) the poison of sin is through the shedding of blood.

Now, you might be thinking, “That sounds simple. I could just sacrifice an animal, or maybe—just maybe—offer up that annoying person who’s always stressing me out.” 😒😒 But it’s not that simple. The blood of animals or ordinary humans? That’s like using an expired antidote—it simply won’t work.

Now, here’s the best news you’ll ever hear:

God, out of His immeasurable love for us, provided the only potent antidote to sin—and guess what? It’s FREE!

Yes, you heard that right. The antidote is available, and it doesn’t cost you a thing. But there’s a catch: you can only apply it to your cup of tea (life) by trusting in the source of that antidote—the blood of Jesus.

Jesus’ blood was shed for you on the cross. What makes His blood different? Unlike every other human, Jesus wasn’t contaminated by sin. He didn’t come into the world through the usual process of human conception, which passes down the sin nature. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, untouched by the poison. And more than that, Jesus is God in the flesh.

Because He lived a perfect, sinless life, His sacrifice on the cross was sufficient to remove the sin of the world—your sin included. All you need to do is believe. Believe that Jesus died, shedding His blood for you, and that He rose again on the third day to make you right with God.

Here’s how the Bible sums it up:

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are saved… how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” — 1 Corinthians 15:1-4

What Now?

My friend, it doesn’t matter what you’ve done in the past, where you’ve been, or what mistakes you’ve made—the blood of Jesus has washed it all away. All you have to do is believe in your heart and confess with your mouth.

Do you believe that Jesus died for you, shedding His blood to remove your sin, and that He rose again on the third day? If yes, congratulations! The blood of Jesus has blotted out your sins. 🙌

“Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross.” — Colossians 2:14

If no, know that Believing is enough, but just so you can anchor your faith and let this truth settle in your heart, I want you to say this out loud:

Lord Jesus, I believe in You. I believe You died for my sins, and on the third day, You rose again. My sins are forgiven, and I receive eternal life. I am born again! The old me is gone, and I walk in the newness of life. I receive Your Spirit and walk in Your truth. Thank You, Daddy!

Now say that “Thank You, Daddy” with confidence—loud and bold! Because you who were once far off are now a beloved child of God!

🎉 Congratulations, my friend!!! Welcome to the family - You are now born again. I love you, and more importantly, God loves you!

Long time no note—it’s been a minute! hehehe😆

Before I dive in, Happy New Month! 🎉 By the time you’re reading this, we’ll already be in a new month, so here’s my charge to you: wake up and do better. In your walk with God, your goals, your productivity—step up in every area. #DoBetter

Today, I want to talk about what I do aside from ministry.

I know many people only see me in that light, but there’s more. So let’s get into it.

What Does It Mean to Be Bivocational?

Bivocational simply means having more than one job or vocation. It’s often used for pastors who work a “regular” job in addition to ministry

Well, that’s me. For how long? I don’t know. But beyond ministry, I actively and currently run Clover Design and Hilltop.

How It Started…

In 2021, the Lord told me that I wouldn’t just be in ministry—I’d also establish businesses. That was the first time I even heard the word bivocational! 😂 Since then, it’s been a journey—co-founding two companies, interning at a Big 4 firm, and now building an e-commerce startup with my dad.

It wasn’t just about what God said; my dad also raised us with an entrepreneurial mindset. I saw firsthand the benefits of not depending on a 9-5, and I desired that path.

But let me be clear—not everyone is meant to build a business. Some will thrive in 9-5 jobs, rise through the ranks and be fulfilled; and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that.

But as for me?

I don’t want to rise through the ranks; I want to create the ranks for others to climb.

I’m still figuring things out, learning, unlearning, and building. It’s not yet as rewarding as I planned, but if God says do it and has promised a result, then I’ll do it and wait to see the result.

Phewwww! Yesterday was my birthday, and trust me, it was an emotional day. From the kind words to the gifts, videos, prayers, and calls—it was all so overwhelming. All I can say is, Thank You, Jesus! And a massive thank you to everyone—family, friends, mentees, and well-wishers—who made the day so special.

It was also a day of reflection. I couldn’t help but think about how our everyday decisions and actions can have a lasting impact on the lives of others. What a privilege!

But I’m not here to dive into all my birthday reflections today. All in all, I’m just grateful for this new age because, guess what? Levels have changed again! 🎉

Who Is INÀ NLÁ?

"Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali, the Way of the Sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles— the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death, a light has dawned.” From that time on, Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.”
— Matthew 4:15-17

This scripture describes how Jesus began His ministry, fulfilling a prophecy by Isaiah. The Lord led me to this passage to explain the name INÀ NLÁ and why I should retain it. (Fun fact: it was given to me by a friend.)

The word “INA” is Yoruba for fire or light (I think it's fire sha, but fire gives light too, so either works). “NLA” means great. Put them together: INA + NLA = Great Fire.

But INÀ NLÁ is more than just a nickname—it’s the summary of my existence. It represents how God intends to use my life to bring light to people in darkness, just like Jesus (my ultimate prototype). You see what you just read it just hit me as I was typing.. Kaii! what a privilege, thank you Jesus!

In essence, INÀ NLÁ embodies who I am and the result of executing the mandate God has given me for this phase of ministry:

“To set fire to young people by precepts (teaching) and by example.”

That’s the brief background of the name INÀ NLÁ. Like I mentioned last week, I’m a pastor in training (not yet ordained, which is why I don’t refer to myself as “Pastor Praise”—though I allow people to call me that because I don’t always like explaining why they don’t need to😂).

My Journey to Ministry

Both my parents are pastors, which makes me a pastor’s child (yayyy, or nayyy? Definitely yayyy!). That said, I think we pastor’s kids need to have a global roundtable discussion about why we often run from ministry. 😂

Yes, I ran for a while. God’s call on my life was obvious to everyone—even me—but I chose to ignore it. Eventually, after receiving confirmation after confirmation (to the point of no escape 😂), I answered the call in 2020.

Since then, God has been unveiling where He’s taking me. Each year and every assignment brings me closer to what He’s shown me (don’t ask me what it is sha—you too like gist 😒😂).

What I’m Working On

Here’s a glimpse of the assignments I’m currently executing:

1. The Regal Family (TRF):
   In 2021, the Lord instructed me to train the men He had given me. At the time, I only had one mentee, but as I obeyed, God brought more people. However, in 2024, TRF was put on hold until further notice (but work is going on behind the scene.. to be revealed at God’s time).

2. The WinePress:
   After TRF paused, I felt a nudge to continue training my men in a different structure. This birthed The WinePress, where we hold meetings every Tuesday night. By God’s grace, we’ll begin physical discipleship classes in Lagos by March 2025.

3. Annual Programmes:
   God has also led me to organize these annual events:

   • The Holy Ghost Meeting (every September)

   • GenZ Pray4Nigeria (usually on Nigeria’s Democracy Day)

   • Youth Fire Conference (now called Ablaze - usually in January).

4. Ablaze Campus Invasions:
   This year, God has opened the door for us to take Ablaze to campuses across Nigeria—and eventually Africa!

5. Music Ministry:
   This might surprise some of you, but I also receive songs from the Lord. I’ve been documenting them and will start producing and releasing them soon.

These are just a few of the things I can share as pertaining to what God has asked me to do so far. If anything changes, y’all will know 😊

Last week, I introduced Praise’ Notes as a “personal collection of my thoughts, meditations, and reflections—rooted in faith and God’s Word.” To make it truly personal, I thought it’d be great to start by sharing a bit about myself.

A Little About Me:
My name is Praise Enoch Adedayo Bisi-Adewale. I’m a first-class graduate of Mass Communication from the prestigious Covenant University. I’m a child of God and a pastor in training.

I consider myself an introvert (though some argue I’m an ambivert), and I enjoy solitude more than socializing—my social battery drains quickly. 😅

My life’s purpose is summed up in one statement: Service to God and His People—basically, Ministry.

Fun Facts About Me:

• Football Love: I’m an Arsenal fan—painful, heartbreaking - even my heartrob told me to test other waters or drown in tears (can you imagine??), but we move. 😅

• Foodie Alert: Pasta with hot sauce is my weakness (not like Samson sha 👀😂).

• Gaming Enthusiast: I love FIFA, military, and simulation games.

• Teacher at Heart: Teaching brings me joy.

• Travel Preferences: I love air and train travel; road trips, not so much.

• Fashion Favorites: Suits, three-quarter senators, branded tees like transformed tee, jackets, loafers, oxfords, monk straps, and trainers are my style. Let’s say a little mix of old money and Gen Z style.

• Music Lover: Gospel and clean secular music (like Johnny Drille) fill my playlists. Most of the time, I am always plugged in.

• Body physique: I am quite skinny (I’ve been made jest of in the past because of this.. sigh!!) because I don’t eat as I ought and workout.. but I am hope to change that soonest

• Tech Crush: I’m a fan of Apple products and hope to own the entire ecosystem one day.

• UK > US: I prefer the UK—don’t come for me, more like a second home for me. 😂

• Best Bathroom Dancer: My audience (my shower) agrees I’m phenomenal (but maybe keep me off the dance floor).

Hobbies:

• Playing video games.

• Listening to music and singing (to myself mostly).

• Reading Christian literature, theology, biographies, memoirs, and life application books (not a fan of novels).

• Cooking!!!!! I love it alot.

• Writing—my newest passion, thanks to Substack.

I think that’s a good snapshot of who I am! Writing this was challenging because I’m used to talking about ministry, my companies, and projects—all of which I’ll dive into next week.
