Some even tried posting consistently but still failed. Because most of them miss one layer out of my 3-layer content system.

Let’s go through all the layers:

Here’s exactly how I think about content for every founder I write for. Whether they’re doing $200K/year or $10M/year, the framework is the same.

Layer 1: Reach Content (Top of Funnel)

This is content built for one job: getting eyeballs from people who don’t know you yet.

Not your followers. Not your existing audience. Strangers.

This layer needs to be broad, emotionally resonant, and easy to consume. It should stop someone mid-scroll who has never heard your name.

What this looks like in practice:

- Industry observations that challenge common beliefs

- Contrarian takes on how people in your space think

- Universal lessons about business, money, or building something

- Simple frameworks anyone can understand in 10 seconds

- Content based on borrowed authority for quick growth

This is where most virality comes from. A thread that hits 1Millioin+ views. A tweet that gets shared by someone with 200K followers. A post that takes off in a niche you didn’t even target.

The mistake most founders make here:

They skip this layer entirely because it feels “too broad” or “not niche enough.”

So they write deeply specific content for an audience of 12 people.

Nobody can trust you if nobody sees you first. Reach is the oxygen. Without it, the other two layers suffocate.

Reach content doesn’t dilute your brand. Done right, it fills the top of your funnel with the right people.

Layer 2: Trust Content (Mid Funnel)

Now someone found you. They saw that viral thread. They liked what they read. They followed you.

But here’s what’s happening in their head right now:

“Okay, this person seems interesting. But who are they really? Can I trust them? Do they actually know what they’re talking about?”

Layer 2 answers that question before they even ask it.

Trust content is personal. It’s vulnerable. It’s you thinking out loud.

What this looks like:

- Real stories from your journey, even the ugly parts, not just the wins

- Mistakes you made and what they actually cost you

- How you think through hard decisions

- Your values, your principles, your opinions on things that matter to your audience

- Behind-the-scenes of how you operate

This is where the relationship is built. Not the follower count, the relationship.

There’s a difference between someone who follows you and someone who trusts you. One of them buys. One of them just scrolls.

The mistake most founders make here:

They only post opinions and frameworks. Facts and tactics. But never context.

They tell people what to do. But never why they believe it. Never how they arrived at that belief. Never what it cost them to learn it.

Trust is built when people understand how you think, not just what you know.

Layer 3: Authority Content (Bottom of Funnel)

This is the layer that converts.

Someone found you (Layer 1). They started trusting you (Layer 2). Now they’re asking one final silent question:

“Can this person actually deliver? Have they done this before? Is this real or is it just good writing?”

Layer 3 answers that with proof.

What this looks like:

- Client results and case studies (specific numbers, specific transformations)

- Behind-the-scenes breakdowns of your actual process

- Screenshots, testimonials, DMs from happy clients

- Clear articulation of who you help and exactly how

- Your offer, stated plainly without apology

This is the layer most founders are either afraid to post or obsessed with posting. Both are mistakes.

Afraid: They feel like they’re “bragging.” So they hide their results and wonder why no one reaches out.

Obsessed: They skip the first two layers entirely and jump straight to case studies. Then they wonder why nobody sees them.

Authority content without reach content is a library nobody visits.

The way I use this layer:

I make sure every founder I work with is consistently dropping proof. Not once a month. Not when a new client result comes in. Consistently. Screenshots, breakdowns, numbers... woven into the content calendar.

Because here’s the truth: by the time someone DMs you ready to buy, the decision is already 80% made. They’ve been reading your content for weeks. Sometimes months. Your Layer 3 content is the last push they needed to take action.

That person didn’t need a sales call. They needed to see consistent proof over time. Layer 3 did that work silently, in the background, while I slept.

How the Three Layers Work Together

Let me make this simple.

Layer 1 (Reach) brings strangers in.

Layer 2 (Trust) makes them care about you.

Layer 3 (Authority) makes them act.

Remove any one of them:

- Only Reach content → You’re a popular account nobody hires.

- Only Trust content → You’re relatable but not credible. Growth is slow.

- Only Authority content → Your proof posts get 40 impressions because nobody’s watching.

This is why the founder who posts great case studies and gets no leads isn’t doing something wrong with the case study. He’s doing something wrong with the other two layers.

And this is why the person with 50,000 followers isn’t making money. They’ve mastered Layer 1. They forgot Layers 2 and 3 exist.

How I Actually Build This for Clients

When I onboard a new founder, before I write a single word, I spend hours understanding three things:

1. Their story. What have they lived through? What did they learn the hard way? Where’s the tension in their journey that people will connect with? This becomes Layer 2.

2. Their results. What have they done for clients? What have they built? What proof exists that they’re the real deal? This becomes Layer 3.

3. What are the broad topics my clients & his ideal audience would be interested in? Write viral thread on those topics. This shapes Layer 1.

Then I build a content calendar that runs all three layers simultaneously, every single week.

Not 100% viral content. Not 100% case studies. A system.

Because a system compounds. Random posting doesn’t.

Everyone has it. Everyone is sharing it.

What people don’t have?

• A person they actually want to listen to.

• A person with a personality that they want to interact with.

• A person with opinions & philosophy.

So here’s what I actually do when I take over a founder’s brand.

I don’t start by writing “valuable content.”

I start by making people care about the person behind the content.

And I do it with two types of content:

1. Long-form posts — your growth engine.

This is your biggest leverage on X. And most founders completely ignore it.

I’m talking about threads and long-form posts.

This is how you get eyeballs. This is how you go viral. This is how you pull hundreds & sometimes thousands of new people into your world in a single day.

When you’re small, you can’t afford to just “nurture” an audience you don’t have yet.

You need reach first. You need people to discover you.

And long-form is how that happens.

But here’s the thing, not just any thread goes viral. Knowing what kind of long-form to write for your specific profile, your niche, your audience… that’s an art in itself.

So see what best fits you & try it.

Don't sit idle if you are a thread boi.

First, let’s define what virality is

If you think getting 100 M+ views and 10k+ followers overnight is virality

Then you’re simply delusional

Virality is just getting more views than you usually get.

But again, there are two types of virality:

1. Valuable virality

2. Shallow virality

The first type is gained by posting content from your niche, your interests, your opinions, your philosophy, etc.

e.g. Threads on marketing stories, lessons, mistakes, books, personal stories, etc.

The second type is gained by posting content that has nothing to do with your life.

But everything to do with likes and views

e.g. Threads on hit movies, escaped prisoners, mystery stories, etc.

Most ghostwriters focus on the second type of virality.

But why?

Because their clients want virality, likes, followers, etc.

Under this pressure, ghostwriters write anything that can achieve that

Here’s what clients need to understand:

If you have unrealistic expectations of gaining thousands of followers overnight with the help of a ghostwriter

You’re not going to make it.

You can't get millions of views every month.

You can't gain thousands of followers every month.

Some months, you may get 200 followers.

Some months, you may get 20,000 followers.

And some months you may get ONLY 20 followers.

So set your lens to a wide angle.

Personal brand is a long-term game.

Chase virality, but not at the cost of your reputation.

But today let's talk about how to actually write a thread that gets you targeted followers

Not just any random clout followers.

TARGETED FOLLOWERS.

1. How to choose a thread topic

Here we’re purely talking about virality.

But the goal is to go viral in your niche.

To do that you need to write a broad thread within your niche.

What does that mean?

If you’re in the ecom space you shouldn’t write about how you optimized your landing pages & all. It will get 200 views.

You should write a thread on broad topics like marketing strategies branding principles famous brand stories & many more...

These topics will cast a wider net within your niche

Always write a thread on unique topics.

2. Hook writing

After idea selection hook writing is the most important aspect of virality.

Number one rule of virality: Target unaware people & problem-aware people

These two groups are the largest audience.

- Spark curiosity

- Keep your hook punchy

- Make it visually appealing

- Offend people

- Break norms

- Evoke emotions

If your hook does any of these your thread will go viral

3. CTA

Last but not least...

CTA converts the traffic you're pulling

Without a CTA your virality is of no use

Either convert that traffic into an email list or make them book a call or take them to DMs

Do something with the traffic. Don’t let it go away.

And this isn't just a one-time fluke.

1. Choose an interesting topic. Most mega-viral threads are TOF (Top of Funnel). Pick a topic that hasn't been overdone and present it in a unique way. It shouldn't feel repetitive.

2. Focus on the hook. I can't overemphasize this. I've tested the same thread with two different hooks over the past two years, and the hook makes all the difference.

3. Use an intriguing image. An image should complement the hook. A solid image combined with exceptional copy is the road to virality.

4. Include videos in the threads. Nowadays, videos work well on X because they increase retention rates. So why not take advantage of this?

5. As you progress in the thread, make sure you go MOF (Middle of Funnel) and BOF (Bottom of Funnel). This will help you get call bookings from the CTAs you include.

“Is X dying?”

So the real truth is that X is really slowed compared to X.

Some creators are getting crazy reach with average content.

Some creators are getting very little reach with valuable content.

This was not always the case. There was a time in late 2022 & early 2023, my clients used to go viral daily. It was no surprise that every next day some tweets used to go viral organically.

Now it's hard to go viral even by investing in paid reach.

The main thing is that high-quality folks are still lurking around on X.

X is the most fun + business platform to ever exist in the world.
