Today felt like the second kind.

Good food.
A good book.
A tech event.
A movie.
And a lot of little moments in between.

Somewhere between all of it, I realized something:

Maybe a good life isn’t one big achievement. Maybe it’s a collection of small moments that make you feel like you’re moving in the right direction.

First, a little sweetness.

There was this ridiculously beautiful chocolate dessert sitting in front of me.

Chocolate. Pistachios. Raspberry. Caramel.

It looked almost too pretty to eat.

But eventually, you have to stop taking pictures and actually take the first bite.

And honestly, maybe life is a little like that too.

We spend so much time waiting for the perfect moment that sometimes we forget to actually experience the moment we’re already in.

Then came the book

Read Write Own — Building the Next Era of the Internet by Chris Dixon.

The title itself caught me.

Read. Write. Own.

Three simple words, but they represent three very different ways of interacting with the world.

You can consume.

You can create.

Or you can build something that belongs to you.

That idea stayed with me.

As someone learning AI and technology, I don’t want to spend my entire life just watching other people build the future.

I want to understand it.

I want to experiment with it.

I want to build things.

And eventually, I want to own something I created.

Not necessarily something huge.

Just something that started as an idea in my head and became real because I decided to work on it.

Then came BLITZ.

A room filled with builders, ideas, conversations, screens, and that strange energy you only get at tech events.

Everyone seems to be working on something.

Everyone seems to have a plan.

And for a moment, you look around and think:

“Okay. I want to be part of this.”

That’s probably one of my favourite things about events like these.

They don’t necessarily teach you one life-changing lesson.

Sometimes they simply remind you that there is a much bigger world outside your laptop.

People are building companies.

People are experimenting with technologies that didn’t exist a few years ago.

People are taking ideas seriously enough to turn them into products.

And you realize:

There is so much left to learn.

And then… madness met madness.

After all the tech, ideas, and overthinking about the future…

Sometimes you just need to sit in a dark theatre and watch a movie.

No productivity.

No learning.

No trying to optimize your life.

Just sitting there and enjoying the moment.

And maybe that’s important too.

Because we’re so obsessed with becoming better versions of ourselves that we sometimes forget to simply be ourselves for a while.

Work hard.

Learn.

Build.

Dream.

But also laugh.

Watch movies.

Eat good food.

Have random conversations.

Take pictures you’ll probably never post.

Not every moment needs to contribute to your five-year plan.

Some moments are valuable simply because you lived them.

Maybe that’s the real takeaway.

I used to think progress had to look dramatic.

A new job.

A huge project.

A major achievement.

A big announcement.

But maybe progress can also look like:

Reading a few pages.

Meeting interesting people.

Trying something new.

Building something that doesn’t work yet.

Watching a movie.

Eating something ridiculously good.

Going home with one new idea stuck in your head.

And waking up the next day wanting to continue.

Maybe that’s enough.

Because the future isn’t built in one giant moment.

It’s built in ordinary days where you quietly decide to keep going.

Today was one of those days.

Good food.
A good book.
A room full of builders.
A movie.
A few new thoughts.

And a reminder that I’m still at the beginning.

And honestly, I think that’s the exciting part.

One more email.

One more notification.

One more reminder that there is always something left unfinished.

For years, I believed adulthood meant learning how to carry that weight with grace.

Now I think adulthood is learning when to put it down.

The first ritual is always the same.

Books.

Not because I intend to finish them, but because I enjoy the possibility each one carries. I pick one up, read a page, wander into another, lose myself in a third. I picked up this novel expecting a clever Japanese mystery. What I didn’t expect was a story that would make me question something as ordinary as the layout of a house. The cover itself is striking. And I was just… standing there.

Thinking.

About life. About timing. About whether I’m actually moving forward or just getting better at looking busy.

Nobody really prepares you for this age.

You’re expected to have ambition, discipline, emotional maturity, financial sense, a social life, a healthy routine, and somehow still know exactly where your life is headed.

I don’t.

Some days I feel unstoppable.

Other days I question everything I’m doing.

And I think a lot of people do too. We just don’t talk about it enough.

We post achievements.

We post progress.

We post “big things coming soon.”

But nobody posts the part where you’re tired.

The part where you compare your timeline with everyone else’s.

The part where you wonder if all this effort will actually mean something one day.

Standing there that night, I realised something.

Maybe not having everything figured out doesn’t mean you’re lost.

Maybe it just means you’re in the middle of becoming.

And the middle is uncomfortable.

It’s slow.

It’s confusing.

Nothing looks impressive while it’s being built.

But maybe that’s okay.

Maybe growth isn’t always loud.

Maybe sometimes it’s just showing up, carrying your invisible battles quietly, and choosing not to give up.

Even when nobody notices.

So yeah.

The match was happening.

But honestly?

Most of the battle that night was happening inside my head.
