We just wanted to make you aware that the inaugural club run will be held on 3 October across the UK.

We are aware that certain individuals who disagree with our views are keeping a close eye on Reality Rules Runners UK. Some individuals have stated that they will confront anyone running for RRR UK, so do take care out there in the next few weeks.

Initially we felt that there was enough clothing out there to advocate for fairness in women’s sports, including those from WRN / Violet Vend, Women’s Sports Union and XX-XY Athletics.

However, in the last week many of you have asked about branded Reality Rules Runners UK clothing and we have reconsidered for a number of reasons:

• Club branded clothing will be better able to show just how many people are coming together and asking Parkrun to introduce sex-based categories

• If you are attending Parkrun on our debut on 3 October, it will be easier for you to identify fellow club members

Keeping it simple and affordable

We have created a Reality Rules Runners UK Shop with a print on demand dropshipping supplier, who will print and dispatch your orders on our behalf. By doing this we are keep costs down and enables you to buy any items at the lowest possible price.

We are hoping to change this! In only a few weeks time, we will debut Reality Rules Runners UK at Parkrun. We hope that many hundreds (hopefully thousands) of you will join us to send a clear and strong statement to Parkrun about the huge support there is for fairness and sex-based categories at their events.

All sports events are responsible for putting on fair events. This includes free, volunteer run, community events like Parkrun.

So please tell people about Reality Rules Runners UK, as we are hoping to attract lots more supporters before our debut at Parkrun on 3 October.

But it is not just organisations who are helping us, there are many individuals helping, advising and creating connections for us behind the scenes and we are incredibly grateful to each and everyone of them!

We want to especially thank the incredible Mara Yamauchi who responded very enthusiastically and helped us reach out to an incredible group of runners who are instrumental in helping shape our running community.

We are planning to launch Reality Rules Runners UK publicly on Saturday 3 October. Please put this date firmly in your diary and support us by:

• Helping spread the word: to let trusted people in your networks know about us. Ask them to subscribe to this Substack or follow us on ‘X’.

• Registering for Parkrun (if you don’t have a Parkrun profile already): remember ANYONE in the UK can support our mission. We need numbers and want to show Parkrun how much support there is for sex-based categories at their ‘fun run’. YOU DO NOT NEED TO RUN! Walking is allowed and encouraged. Simply create a Parkrun profile and join our club by following the instructions on this post.

• Await joining instructions on Monday 28 September! We will send you full instructions on how to join the running club on this date via Substack and ‘X’.

You will see that we have changed the name of this substack and the name of our ‘X’ account have also changed to @RRRunnersUK

The response has been very positive and we are making good progress but feel like we have not reached as much momentum as we would have liked.

We have therefore decided to postpone the club debut by a couple of months. We will be in touch with a new date (and hopefully a new club name) soon!

One of the goals of our running club is to debut the club in the TOP 10 of biggest Parkrun Running Clubs. In order to achieve this we need 1750 people to register for our club. Failing that a membership of 750 will get us listed on the Parkrun website that lists the biggest 40 running clubs.

Support us in just 5 minutes

You can support us regardless of whether you plan to run on Saturday 29 August or whether you run at all. After all Parkrun encourages those of all abilities and walking the 5k is fine. All you need to do is register as a member of our running club by following these easy steps:

1. Register for Parkrun UK using your real details or an ‘alias’, however PLEASE MAKE SURE to register your biological sex in the field asking for your ‘gender’

2. A few days prior to our inaugural Parkrun, we will send you instructions on how to manage your group membership so you will be counted as a member of our running club on our Parkrun debut. To make sure you receive this information, please check our Substack and Twitter for updates.

The ‘Biological Reality Running Club’ is a community based effort and we would not be able to set it up and make it work in just a couple of weeks without the support of a vast number of individuals across the UK.

In order for the Club to successfully launch at Parkrun on 29 August we are hoping to garner support from individuals as well as organisations that support sex-based rights.

If you are in such an organisation, we ask that you please make them aware of the running club and ask them to drop us a message as we would like to get their official support.

Supporters page

We have just launched our supporters page. This is where we are hoping to display the logos and links of organisations who are supporting us in setting the running club up.

If you are part of an organisation, please get in touch with us to let us know that you would like to become an official supporter and send us a logo for your organisation and a link for us to include. Once we have 5 organisations who are willing to officially support us, we will start publishing these on the page.

This negatively impacts fairness for female participants in various ways:

• women’s final positions are relegated by men who identify as women

• women’s age category records are taken (possibly indefinitely) by men

• women’s top age grade scores are taken (possibly indefinitely) by men

Because of the unfairness at Parkrun we have decided to launch a UK Parkrun running club that supports fair competition and sex-based categories.

We plan to register the club with Parkrun and want to recruit as many people as possible to join the club before the club members take part in the first club Parkrun on Saturday 29 August across the UK.

We hope that this action will have a huge impact on the Parkrun community and show the leadership, Parkrun volunteers & participants just how much support there is for sex-based categories at Parkrun.

GOALS OF THE INITIATIVE

1. Debut the club in the TOP 10 of biggest Clubs (this requires 1750+ members).

2. Debut the club with the highest number of runners for an inaugural club run.

3. Get the issue and initiative covered by national media.
