NATO was initiated after WWII, it’s my understanding, as a means to ensure peace among nations. It basically says, if you attack one of us, you have attacked all of us and we will ALL come after you!!! See, I think that’s brilliant because what country in their right mind would attack another country knowing multiple nations will come down on them with the wrath of Hell itself?

Did DJT somehow misunderstand the nature and purpose of NATO?? I doubt that, but he is hoping you will. When he says, and I’m paraphrasing, we don’t really need them (allies), I just wanted to test whether they’d have our backs, that just demonstrates his idiocy. And his belief WE are all just as idiotic as he.

He totally screwed the pooch when he decided we did not need that agreement anymore (until we do). He has spent more of his presidential time and energy trying to undo any policies that were not his great ideas and, let’s face it, when is the last time we saw a great idea come from the Trump administration? And you can include Trump 1.0 since it will be impossible to come up with one from this go around.

Trump accuses our allies of never helping the USA when we have protected and fought for them multiple times. We have only ever had to invoke Article V exactly once. That was when the Twin Towers were attacked and YES, other allied countries lined up to support and die for us. When he tells you they’ve never been there for us, there are families across the world who will tell you differently because their loved one will never come back home. They lost their lives in protection of our country. For this idiotic president to say otherwise is disgraceful and is a flat out lie (no surprise there).

Trump never engaged our allies or even bothered to notify them that he was about to start an “excursion” with Iran. They were just as surprised as we all were on 2/28 when we all found out what this imbecile had done. And now the entire world is paying for his impulsive bombing of Iran. Is it any wonder our “allies” are reluctant to die for this???

Yesterday was my 64th birthday and my good friend in GA sent me a gift certificate to my favorite toy store, Harbor Freight. Thanks to my Pop, I love tools! Any tools! Tools I need today or tools I might need 5 years from now are all fair game! So instead of going to the store location I always go to in Gadsden, I decided to go to the HF in Centre, AL which is only a few minutes further away. It is a beautiful drive on narrow, country backroads filled with pastureland, cows, ponds and, yes, Eagles!! As I was driving back home with my booty from Harbor Freight, I glanced over to my left in time to notice a big black blob up in a tree that my mind quickly tried to categorize as something familiar. In a matter of probably less than a second or two, I realized the size was much too large for a hawk or even a turkey vulture and the only things left were either a burl in the tree or an Eagle! I slammed on my breaks, slammed her in reverse and backed up to take a longer look. Sure enough, it resolved into a beautiful Bald Eagle! Now, since I’ve been here for the last two years, I’ve been teased by glimpses of what I deduced must be eagles but I was always driving and they would be either too far away to clearly resolve or they’d disappear behind the trees too quickly for me to be sure of what I saw. So this is the actual first time I was able to observe these magnificent creatures in the wild and spend some time watching. As I was recording the one in the tree, my peripheral vision picked up another one flying in to greet the one in the tree. I’ve posted that video here and you can hear my reverence and utter amazement as I am whispering in awe to God! This was such a gift to see these incredible creatures unencumbered by man, obviously devoted to one another as they sat side by side in this tree, grooming each other and just being the free Bald Eagles they were intended to be. It is no mystery to me anymore why these birds were chosen as our Nation’s symbol of Freedom. It’s one thing to go to a Zoo and see one or see them on TV. But it’s quite another thing entirely to unexpectedly see them in the wild. This was such a beautiful gift from the Universe today and such a painful reminder that our Nation’s Incredible Freedom is in peril from within. I now understand our choice of symbolic Freedom but I’ll never understand why our Freedom is being systematically destroyed by those who have sworn to protect it.
