There was a time when I imagined that the median IQ of a typical Substack member was higher than the median for an average, America adult.

I pictured the traditional Bell Curve. I hoped that the median was slightly higher than 100. Having been a member for several years, the data suggest that my initial assumption was wrong.

The median Substack IQ is possibly equal to, but likely lower, than the average American.

I have concluded that the distribution is more like the distribution of American taxpayers. There are some super performers in the top 5% or 10% and a ton of below average players represented in the bottom 90%.

The top 1% of all American taxpayers pays 36% of all US tax revenue.

The top 5% pays 64%.

The bottom 50% pays 3% of all revenue.

Like that.

How did I come to this conclusion?

There are some great, really great writers and contributors on this site. They are clever. They are original. They are extremely bright and they create new and wonderful content.

The daily, short form, notes stream is a different animal. It draws not so great writers and dullards who see themself as enlightened philosophers, who are sharing some newly discovered wisdom.

Too often, what they believe is deep and wise is banal, unoriginal, stale and vapid. Similar to what a 15 year old might discover by reading Camus for the first time.

Maybe over time my standards have become too high. The one saving grace is that often these amateur geniuses receive zero comments and are mostly ignored.

I just hate dull.

I hate banal.

I hate phony bullshit posing as wisdom.

I embrace and cherish the really great writers and their seriously original, clever, smart content.

Often at a buffet, there are some seriously great treats. One just has to learn to avoid the old, stale offerings.

In a rain forest, 20% of the trees consume 80% of the sunlight, the water and the nutrients.

20% of all American Real Estate Agents earn 80% of all commissions.

In the NHL, 20% of the players score 80% of the goals.

In MLB, 20% of the players hit 80% of the home runs.

In our solar system, 20% of the planets, contain 80% of the mass.

20% of all drivers are involved in 80% of all car accidents.

20% of all criminals commit 80% of all crimes.

20% of all of the stars in our galaxy, The Milky Way, contain 80% of the total mass.

Women file 80% of all divorce papers. Men file the other 20%.

Life is not fair.

Life is not nice.

And for sure, life is not equal.

American adults:

1 out of 2 has an IQ equal to or higher than 100.

1 out of 500 has an IQ greater than 145.

1 out of 16,600. has an IQ greater than 160.

Just as water and nutrients in a rain forest, are not distributed evenly.

Intelligence and success for humans is not distributed equally.

You can change that and force things to be equal for all.

But you have to kill a lot of people to make that a reality.

Often airplanes crash due to a chain of events.

And not just due to one mechanical malfunction nor one pilot error.

The bag handler was loading the bags, as usual.

He got distracted by a bag that fell.

As he was closing the cargo door, the double security latch was not completely engaged.

The plane took off.

At altitude, the cargo door latch failed.

The cargo bay suffered a decompression.

The cargo bay floor buckled.

The control cables and hydraulic lines run under the cargo bay floor.

The controls got jammed and disabled.

The pilots lost control.

The plane crashed.

Sometimes in life, especially health, one apparently small, insignificant thing can lead to another, and then to something bigger.

Pay attention.

I had a long time friend, who I worked with when I was an Aerospace Engineer.

He was brought up on a dairy farm in Iowa.

On occasion, his father would tell him to go clean out the barn. Cows can be messy.

My friend would reply, “But Dad, I don’t like to clean out the barn.”

His Dad replied, “I did not ask you what you liked.”

Eat nutritious, natural food.

Avoid processed foods.

Walk or exercise.

Practice delayed consumption.

Save for retirement.

Listen 80% and talk 20% of the time.

Make every new acquaintance feel super special.

Make just one other person breathe easier, because you existed.

Sacrifice. It is not all about you.

Take what you do seriously. Don’t take yourself too seriously.

Be passionate about something.

Your partner and kids are gifts. Treat them as such.

Fix what you can fix.

Don’t moral grandstand nor virtue signal.

Be thankful and grateful.

Never be the first one out on the dance floor.

Never go out to lunch alone, with your mother-in-law.

Ergo.

Looking for meaning or purpose in, what appears to be, a meaningless Universe, is an effort in futility.

Religion provides comfort or peace for many believers.

If finding truth is your goal, religion is a false God. No pun.

The path to the truth is a rough, uneven, grueling trail with few rewards along the way. Curiosity will jump start you. Inquisitiveness with keep you going. Hope will sustain you. This journey, which has no end, will be the end unto itself.

The goal should be living a meaningful, rather short, life in a meaningless Cosmos.

It has been suggested that the answer is The Universe.

And that your eternal quest is to find the correct questions to ask.

Simply being aware of our existence, being conscious and being able to fathom our place in this vast unknown is magic. Treat it as such.

If just one other person has breathed easier because you existed, then you might consider that your life has meaning and that you have lived a moral, ethical, worthwhile life.

How I do delayed consumption.

There were several planets that lined up to get me to this point in my life. My parents were traditional members of the Greatest Generation. My Dad was a US Marine, who served in the pacific, and survived Iwo Jima. He became a bakery truck driver when he returned. My Mom was a stay-at-home Mom. We were poor, but I did not know it at the time.

I was the first of the generation of all my cousins to go to college. My Dad was super proud of me. I learned that money was spent on essentials, with an occasional new, used car and a moderate vacation visiting relatives.

I was meant to be an engineer. An Aerospace Engineer. Very analytical. Serious left brain. Pensive. Usually on the outside observing the pack. I had my first personal IRA at 17 and my first stock brokerage account at 22.

Money was measured by the amount of time that you rented your life to get it.

So my unique, unusual Delayed Consumption method:

I see an ad of something that I would really like to own. Like a new watch. Not a Rolex. A Casio. A new model. I research it and others on line. I look at the specs and settle on the one. Then the search begins for the best price, even if it retails for a mere $6o. I then go to the Mall, and interview a few watch sales folks within an inch of their lives.

Now I have settled on the one watch, that I can not live without. I continue to monitor ads online.

After a week or two the passion subsides. Somewhat like a new girlfriend. Within a week or two the desire is gone. I look at my current Casio watch and decide to enjoy what I have, not what I want.

And so I have completed the Delayed Consumption cycle.

My wife and I are not members of the top 1% of net worth.

But we are likely top 5% -10%.

So, the issue is not having the money. I just have never had the need to show off to other people, with regard to irrelevant, material goods. I have always been comfortable and confident in my own skin.

Any discussion that includes race and IQ is automatically radioactive.

But, here goes.

You can’t hate people just because they’re ignorant.

Ignorance can be fixed, with some education and being around reasonably bright people.

Stupid is just stupid.

Stupid, passive people can mostly be ignored, especially if they are lazy.

It’s the stupid, aggressive people who make society worse for the rest of us.

The median IQ of all American adults is 100.

The median IQ of all Ghetto, Ratchet, Black, Americans adults is 85.

There are Sub Saharan African nations where the median IQ is 75, 70 and below.

The American gap is hard scientific data, established by countless studies over multiple decades.

Why the gap exists is still being studied and debated.

Charles Murray and Dick Herrnstein did the still controversial study in 1994. They explained the analysis and showed us the data. The original focus of their study was the stratification of intelligence in America starting in the 1960s. It morphed into a lightening rod for IQ and racism.

Are there Black Americans with incredibly high IQs? Yes, of course.

Are there White Americans with IQs significantly below the median? Yes, of course.

It is a normal distribution, a Bell Curve and a probability thing.

If you are out and about in public:

The probability of you running into someone with an average IQ of 100 is 1 in 2.

The probability of you running into someone with an IQ of 115 is 1 in 6. A college student at an average college. One sigma up.

The probability of you running into someone with an IQ of 130 is 1 in 43. A college student at an elite, top 25, US college. Two sigma up.

The probability of you running into someone with an IQ of 145 is 1 in 500. This is genius level. Three sigma up.

And finally, the probability of you running into someone with an IQ of 160 is 1 in 16,600. Very rare. Newton 175, Einstein 160+. Elon Musk 155+. Marilyn Monroe 140+ Four sigma up.

I am a man of science and I look at data and evidence.

I have seen the behavior of Ghetto, Ratchet Black people at the airport, on commercial flights, at Walmart, at fast food restaurants, doing the dine and dash thing, shoplifting at CVS and Walgreens, at the DMV. And countless videos of simple traffic stops that turn violent and into felonies. The police body cams make it clear who is the aggressor almost every time.

I hate to stereotype anyone. But the evidence is flat overwhelming.

Is it:

Culture?

Fatherlessness?

Crime?

Single Moms?

Births out of wedlock? 77%

Poverty?

Abortion?

or IQ.

All of these abhorrent public displays of out of control, no respect, no regard, no accountability people point to one thing for me.

As a white person moving about in public.

Better appearing racist than dead.

PS: Why has this abhorrent Ghetto, Ratchet behavior become the apparent defining traits for all decent Black people? How did the rest of the Black community allow this to happen? And White Liberals and Democrats encourage and find excuses for this behavior and then sit on the sidelines, and cheer.

Why have things gone this far downhill?

We are not allowed to discuss the issues.

The entire “lived experience” narrative is just one other way to suppress any open discussion, and to shut up people with differing opinions.

No one agrees on the problem or that a problem even exists.

It has become both a political and campaigning football.

There is none and will never be a consensus to even search for a solution.

I have led a mostly atypical, innocent life, with very few traumas nor life altering disasters.

My parents were married before I was conceived, They wanted me and planned for me. That alone makes me a bit unusual. I had very, kind, gentle, loving parents. I was able to appreciate and wallow in my youth. Little League, Boy Scouts, and summer camp.

Almost too ordinary.

High School, College, work, marriage, kids, retirement.

I lost my parents at the usual ages, as most of us do. My lone sister recently died in her sleep at 82. A big loss for me.

Where is all this innocence?

I have been with the same woman for 54 years and have never cheated on her. Most of the things that I have dome in life have been compromises to some extent. I was determined that there would be at least one thing, this one thing, where I would not compromise.

Just me.

Never been a victim of a drive by shooting. Never lived in the Hood. Never been the victim of a violent crime.

Never cheated big on the IRS. Never been to prison nor arrested. My last speeding ticket was in 1984.

Here is the brick to my head.

I was sharing a drink, with a casual friend, at a local pub. He was pretty dunk. I was on my first drink, which turned out to be my last. He talked about his youth. He always seemed like the type of unstable person, who might have bodies buried in his basement. Just a feeling. He also has this hollow look in his eyes.

His story comes out like I am reading a really, really bad, tragic novel.

He was sexually abused, as a ten year old, by a male neighbor, a friend of the family. He is now 61, single and the primary care giver of his 86 year old father. He hates that role. He hates his father. Here is the comment that I can not get out of my head. In reference to his Dad, “He should have protected me, but he didn’t.”

“He should have protected me, but he didn’t.”

The story gets worse.

At 20, the story teller goes to the house of the abuser, now older. It is the 4th of July. He and a friend find the abuser alone in his backyard. They drag him into the house and proceed to shoot him in both knees. There was forethought. The now 20 year old man knows that no one will hear, because of all of the fireworks. He also uses a very low caliber, quiet handgun. The abuser is now disabled for the remainder of his life. A form of delayed justice.

He is telling me this story of abuse and shooting someone like he is telling me about going on a nice vacation. No emotion. Just a sort of deadness in his eyes. I am almost falling off of my chair.

I am innocent. He had been permanently damaged, and mostly destroyed, as a 10 year old, and has gotten a level of revenge. Nothing was ever reported to the police and there were no other repercussions for my friend.

After hearing his story, the contrast to my innocence and a lack of similar trauma goes off in my head like a bomb. I am still a bit afraid of this guy. His story confirms my long thought about apprehensions.

Liberal women choose their leaders based upon feelings, emotions, irrationality and attractiveness.

They vote based upon personality, persona and personal traits.

Men vote based upon policies, initiatives and the visions of their leaders.

Life is not fair.

Life is not equal.

White, Liberal women see the government as the ultimate weapon to force everyone’s life to be fair and equal.

That was already tried in the 20th century. Unfortunately, 100 million people had to be imprisoned, tortured or murdered to achieve that fair, equal, Socialist, Utopia.

And these same women want to rerun that experiment.

I thought Bill Clinton was a very good president, but a horrible, disgusting human. I did not tell my son to grow up to be like Bill C.

I think that President Trump is a great president and leader. The fact that he is a bully, arrogant, too candid, and never knows when to keep his mouth shut, means nothing to me. He is definitely not nice.

Women want nice.

It’s a selective, destructive blindness.

America's enemies are not nice, not tolerant and do not play by the same rules as we do, if any rules. They play to win by any means possible. They play dirty. We should understand that by now.

Men are trying desperately to defend the fortress. Liberal women insist on leaving the gates open and the moat drained.

Obama was the worst president America has ever had, but women liked him because he was nice, good looking, suave, stylish and Black. Most of the social and cultural issues, that now plague America, were caused by him.

The three greatest threats to freedom and America:

1) Cultural Marxism.

3) Radicalized, White, Affluent, Liberal women, who carry water for the real hard core Marxists.

Intelligent and Lazy - These are the bright minds that could do great things, but don’t. These are the bright college student who are intellectually lazy and choose to be activists and social justice warriors. They are a waste of food, water and oxygen.

Stupid and Lazy - They generally are no threat to anyone, other than themselves. Just avoid these dolts and dullards. And definitely don’t try to argue with them. It is OK to sleep with one. But please never marry one.

Stupid and aggressive - This is the most dangerous group. A danger to themselves and a danger to society. Most politicians fall into this category. HOA board members. Radicalized, White, Liberal women head this group. They are a serious danger to freedom, freedom of speech and Western Civilization. They easily become shills for radical ideologies like Marxism. Look out if they say that they are going to fix the world. These people are the ones that fill out the left side of the Dunning-Kruger Curve.

The question of Trans-women is not about men being afraid to be men. It is just another subplot of what is going on in The West, due to the infestation of Cultural Marxism. DEI, Woke, CRT, BLM, Radical Feminism, The Patriarchy, Toxic Masculinity and Radical Trans Ideology are some of the other subplots.

After the Russian Revolution in 1917, there was an attempt at a similar Worker’s Revolution in Germany in 1919, that did not work out. Antonio Gramsci theorized that the traditional Marxist, economic, proletariat/bourgeois model would no longer work, because of the two pillars of the now industrialized, Western nations: The family and religion.

These two pillars had to be destroyed for the Marxist Revolution to move forward. To destroy them Cultural Marxism was conceived to attack the cultures of The West by attacking the most vulnerable, emotional elements of the West: Gender, Race and Sexual Preference

The two weakest groups that were targeted were Liberal women and Blacks. The Frankfurt School, and in particular Herbert Marcuse, picked up the Cultural Marxism ball and brought it to America in the 1940s. All of the members of The Frankfurt School were Jewish and fled to America to avoid Hitler’s Germany in the 1940s.

Marcuse first came to Columbia University and managed to infect most of America’s higher level schools with the ideology of Cultural Marxism. In 1950 the ratio of Liberal, Marxist leaning professors to Conservative professors was 5:1. By the turn of the century that number was 35:1. With 20% self declared Marxists.

Radical Trans Ideology is just another salvo aimed at destroying the traditional, American family. Again, the family being one of the cultural pillars, that must be destroyed for the Revolution to move forward.

The Left’s implementation of Radical Trans Ideology had worked well, under the guise of fairness and equality. Which have been the masks often used to attack the tolerance of the West. Marcuse would likely have been amazed by the mindless indoctrination of American Blacks and Radicalized, White, Affluent, Liberal women, who carry water for the real hard core Marxists.

The median IQ for all American adults is 100.

The median IQ for all Black, American adults is 85.

Intelligence is not distributed equally.

The US Military will not a recruit anyone who has an IQ less that 84. Someone with an IQ at that level can not be taught to consistently fold a piece of paper and place it into an envelope.

Life is not fair.

Very few people are brilliant.

16% have IQs at or above 115. Your average college student.

Approximately 0.135% of the human population has an IQ score of 145 or higher on a standard psychometric distribution. This corresponds to the 99.865{th) percentile, meaning that roughly 1 out of every 741 people achieves or exceeds this score.

The number of Nobel Prize laureates is very small.

Even fewer people across our society are creative. Real creativity is very rare.

History shows that in bold capital letters.

Albert Einstein stated that the only two things that he knows that are limitless are the Universe and Human Stupidity.

And he was not that sure about the Universe.

Radicalized, White, Affluent, Liberal women see the Government as the tyrannical, oppressive tool for making life fair and equal for everyone.

They will fail.

100 million people were tortured, imprisoned and murdered in the 20th century, trying to implement Socialist, egalitarian, state Utopias to make life fair, equal and miserable for everyone.

American, Liberal women want to rerun that experiment.

The overall median intelligence of the American public will continue to decline:

• Colleges indoctrinate and do not teach how to think.

• They teach what to think.

• White, young women have bought into the Ideology of Radical Feminism and are having fewer kids.

• Black women are having more children, subsidized by the taxpayer.

• Hispanic women are having more children.

• Many really bright kids are murdered via abortion.

• Interracial marriages, which are becoming more common, often dumb down the offspring.

Thomas Hobbes, John Locke and Jean Jacque Rousseau were three philosophers, spread across three centuries who had a few things in common. Each of them possessed a unique vision of a Social Contract, that could exist between individuals and a government. The suggested contract would be an unwritten agreement, where the citizen would voluntarily give up some freedom in exchange for the government providing safety, order and protection. Because it is unwritten, the agreement would be based upon the tacit behavior of the people.

Hobbes (1588-1679) famous quote that life without a powerful ruler, a Leviathan, would be solitary, poor, nasty, brutish and short. He was a young man during The English Civil War and his thinking was heavily affected by the killing and devastation he witnessed. His Social Contract possessed an all powerful leader, whose primary function was to keep the peace. He envisioned that prior to the existence of a government, a State of Nature existed among humans. This State of Nature, of mostly hunter-gatherers, was one of taking what you wanted, killing others and simply surviving. Life in its most basic form.

John Locke (1632-1704) lived in a more peaceful time and had a less negative view of humans. He had his own version of a Social Contract in that elected, representatives would create laws, that would bring about order and peace. He did not agree with Hobbes concept of an all powerful, monarch ruler. The Social Contract that evolved in the English Common Law system and widely accepted in Western nations mirrors Locke’s vision.

And lastly, we get to Jean Jacques Rousseau (1712-1778). It is a bit ironic that he died one year before the French Revolution, a war in which he had significant and profound effect. Rousseau was considered more radical that his two predecessors. He did not believe in private property and proposed that all things be owned collectively. His famous quote that “Man is born free, but everywhere is in chains,” reflected his belief that people were born good and innocent, and that man-made institutions corrupted them. Calling Rousseau the anti-Hobbes would be a good description. Regardless he had his own version of a Social Contract.

We see the effects of a Social Contract in action all the time. We would like to drive our car with no restrictions. Take what we want without paying. And generally behave badly in public, on commercial airlines or cruise ships. But we don’t. Hobbes would say that people are fundamentally bad and they control their destructive side for fear that the Leviathan (The Government) will punish or kill them. Rousseau differs in that he sees humans as inherently good and that they use their humane instincts to not kill their neighbor. Locke rests somewhere in the middle.

The acceptance of a Social Contract obviously differs between nations. It also differs between races, ethnicities and groups of people withing nations. How do we judge if people are voluntarily following the rules of a Social Contract? We could look at crime statistics, moving vehicle violations, violent crime stats, general safety and order in communities, white collar crime and more.

Often how people behave in public, and how they treat others, is a function of how much they have to lose, and what is considered illegal or anti-social behavior. Your average citizen likely has accomplished some things in their life. They, therefore, have established their position in one or more hierarchies. The hierarchies likely include educational, professional, family, community, financial, possibly religious and others. If an average, law abiding, person, who took years establishing these valued positions were to do something stupid, all of their status and accomplishments would be put at risk. On the opposite end of the scale, if you have a mostly unaccomplished person, who has nothing to lose, they may make a stupid decision to break laws and to an extent the Social Contract.

Anyone paying attention has likely noticed that there are more occurrences of Black on Black violent crime, Black teen rampages and violations of civilized behavior in public An example: The more frequent occurrence of dine and dash is forcing some restaurants to demand payment before the food is served. We live in a society where trust is an often taken for granted commodity, but it is essential in a free society. Hobbes and Conservatives would argue that the individual has free will, and is responsible and accountable for their own actions. Contrary to that, Rousseau and Liberals would blame society and man- made institutions. Either way there is a serious disfunction going on in the Ghetto, Black community.

The vast majority of us do not give a passing thought to Social Contracts. We carry on commerce with trust as the cornerstone. We pay our taxes. We generally obey the law, for fear of retribution by a criminal justice system or because that is how we have always lived.

It strangely appears that Ghetto, Blacks, based upon public behavior, have never given their tacit agreement to a Social Contract. Conversely, their behavior often indicates a rejection of a fundamental system of laws and social norms, that makes a society livable.

Are the extreme elements of Ghetto Blacks devolving into Hobbes’ State of Nature?

That state of exhibited by the most base, bestial behavior. Taking what one wants. No rules. No laws. No family structure. Whoever carries the biggest club wins.

Evidence suggests that the Ghetto Black community is disintegrating, a process that began 65 years ago, while virtue signaling, Liberals stand on the sidelines, cheer, and provide justification & encouragement . Playing either the victim or race card no longer works.

Gramsci and Marcuse were prophets in their belief that the best way to attack the culture of the West was by using race and gender and by attacking the West’s weakest elements. Blacks and White, Liberal women. History is showing how very smart they were.

You have children when you are a child yourself or have the mentality of a child.

You have a child before you are ready, financially, emotionally or maturity.

You are not married nor have a long-term partner.

Your education is not complete.

You were raised by other single women.

You use your young child as a pawn for your current, stupid cause du jour.

You don’t talk with your child and really, really listen.

You do not teach your child self-control and discipline.

You do not teach your child how to give and get respect.

You don’t provide structure, borders and boundaries.

You try to be your child’s friend, rather than a parent.

You do not emphasize the importance of education.

You dress like a slut in front of your daughter.

Your son has no father and no solid, reliable, male model.

You use the child, as a weapon, against the baby daddy.

You teach your child that shoplifting is a way of life.

Your primary objective is finding your next baby daddy, rather than the welfare of your child.

You drop “F-Bombs” in front of your three-year-old.

You teach your child that they are a victim of the actions of others

You never teach your child that they are responsible for their own actions.

You never teach your child that violence is not the correct way to solve problems.

You teach your child to hate and disrespect all authority, including police and teachers.

Then you will have failed at the most important job of your life —- being a good parent

And the child that you get, will be the child that you deserve.

The disservice that you have done to that innocent child and to society is immeasurable.

An adult is:

Responsible

Accountable

Owns the results of their own actions

Is not petty.

Always learning

Knows that they know very little or nothing.

Listens 80% of the time and talks 20%.

Know that they learn nothing while they are talking.

Know that if he only knows his own side of the case, he knows little of that.

Understands that life is not fair.

Understand that life is not equal.

Understands that every adult acts in their own interest.

Knows that you can be poor when you are young, but not when you are old.

Knows that 60% of American seniors have no savings for retirement.

Understands the concept of a Social Contract.

Obeys the law.

Tries not to be a burden on society.

Contributes to his favorite charities.

Tips well.

Intelligence and therefore, IQ are not distributed equally. This only occurs in an alternate, egalitarian, universe imagined by Liberal women and low IQ people.

There are differences in IQ between individual people and differences in IQ between groups of people. We don’t like this fact, but it does not make it any less true.

The median IQ for all White, American adults: 100.

The median IQ for all Black, American adults: 85.

The US Military will not accept into service a person with an IQ less than 84. A person with this IQ can not be taught to do anything productive for the Services. People with an IQ of 84 or less can not consistently fold a piece of paper and place it into an envelop.

Extensive research was done both before and after Charles Murray and Richard Herrnstein. Their research clearly explained the cognitive stratification that was occurring in America after 1960. The best, smartest kids were attending the best colleges. And the best, most demanding jobs were being taken by these same, now smartest, adults. A clear pattern was developing. The Bell Curve was written in 1994, and remains radioactive to this day. In the 21st century AI will reenforce and build upon this cognitive stratification. Smartest Kids > Best Colleges > Best Jobs.

Race and IQ may be one of the most hated and sensitive topics to discuss.

The average Ghetto, Ratchet, Black women has a low IQ. You can disagree and argue that the abhorrent behavior displayed in public is a result of culture, fatherlessness, poverty, lack of education, and you may partially be correct. IQ remains a factor.

PS: Knowledge, wisdom and intelligence are three totally different things.

Knowledge is data, facts, knowing stuff. Knowledge can definitely be increased as you develop and get older. You read, you watch videos, you talk to other people. Knowledge can increase via education.

Wisdom is taking the knowledge that you have accumulated over many years and applying it in practice for your own good, the good of your family and hopefully, the world.

Intelligence is IQ is the ability to reason. To understand systems. To be successful in a variety of cognitive related hierarchies. If you observe people that are successful in several different areas, they are generally smart. Elon Musk comes to mind. Whether you approve of his politics means nothing. He has an IQ of about 155. Newton 175. Einstein 160+. Marilyn Monroe was also very smart, with an IQ near 140. Brains and beauty in one special woman.

Often knowledgeable people appear smart. But that is a false indicator of two different things.

PS2: Low IQ people often have the highest confidence in an imagined intelligence that they don’t have. Often the loudest, most confident people, who appear to know everything, are in fact the dumbest. Real intelligence often appears with quiet confidence. If you understand the work done by Dunning-Kruger, you understand a lot.

1) Poor people watch TV, while rich people read books.

2) Poor people get paid based upon time, while rich people get paid based upon results.

3) Poor people blame other for their misfortunes, while rich people take responsibility for their own failures.

With poor people it is always someone else’s fault. It is the economy, their boss, the government, my job, my neighbor, and my friends. It’s never their own fault.

Rich people take responsibility. When you take responsibility you gain power. The power to change. The power to do something different.

4) Poor people focus on saving, while rich people focus on investing.

5) Poor people think that they know it all. Rich people stay curious and continue to learn.

Poor people are always very opinionated. They want to tell the world about their opinion on sports, society, politics,. government and everything around them.

Rich people are humble and willing to learn. They are always learning, asking questions, reading books and growing continuously. Your income can only grow to the extent that you grow.

6) Poor people have a lottery mentality, while rich people have an action mentality.

Rich people believe that if it is meant to be, it is up to me. Rich people take charge of their lives.

I have a friend, who I think is a racist.

Whenever he is walking down the street in early evening, if a group of young, Black men are approaching him on the sidewalk, he always crosses the street.

He lives equidistant from two Walmarts. One is on the border of a predominately Black neighborhood and one is very near a White neighborhood. He never goes to the one near the Black neighborhood.

He worked for about ten years at a large, national bank. During one of his annual reviews, his boss told him that he would never be promoted, because he was white and male. He moved on.

His youngest daughter scored 1450 on the SAT exams. was President of her High School class, National Merit Winner and a regional winner in the girl’s 1500 meter race competition. She was told her application to Emory College was denied, because she was white.

When my friend is in a parking lot, he locks the doors of his car, and never exits the car if there are Black men in the vicinity.

He lives in LA and his long term, family business was totally destroyed during the George Floyd riots.

He and his wife have stopped going to Ruth Chris Steak House.

He and his wife visit some local restaurants, where they are now required to pay the tab before the food is served, to prevent dine and dash.

He voted against Kamala.

He believes that current immigration laws should be enforced.

His attorney, his tax accountant and most of his wife’s doctors are Jewish.

I think he is a racist.

Maybe religion has its place, just like Alchemy, Astrology and mythical beliefs once did.

Religion may be fake, it may be the greatest scam ever perpetrated on humans, but maybe it is not as bad as Nihilism.

Perhaps people need something to believe in, even if it is false.

Is it possible believing in nothing is worse?

Nietzsche warned us with his famous late 19th century warning that “God is Dead.” His words included a very accurate prediction that Nihilism would follow, and that political beliefs would swing wildly from extreme Left to extreme Right. He was correct. 100 million people were murdered in the 20th century as extreme beliefs took over.

Maybe man’s brain is wired such that there must be a belief in some system or ideology. If there is a void, then something, maybe worse than religion, is going to fill it.

People say that they are looking for truth. Maybe they are lying and don’t even know it. Even if religion is not true, maybe it is a sufficiently good enough lie that brings comfort and peace to people. And maybe that is enough.

When I was a very young boy I believed in The Easter Bunny, The Tooth Fairy and Santa Claus. I found them comforting. I also believed that I had an imaginary friend, Buddy, who lived under my bed. He also was a great source of peace and comfort. Then I grew up, and beyond my control, my knowledge base expanded in breadth and depth. Buddy has moved on. And has been replaced by my eternal search for Knowledge, Wisdom, Beauty and Truth.
