THE HIDDEN BEGINNING 🌿

I never imagined that the first trimester would teach me so much about my relationship with Allah.

Before anyone could see the pregnancy, Allah was already nurturing a life in the womb. While the world saw nothing, He saw everything—the changes, the fears, the prayers whispered in silence, and the hope that filled my heart.

As I walked through those early weeks, I realized that many conversations about pregnancy focus only on the physical changes. Those conversations are important, but I found myself longing for something more: a reminder that this journey is also one of faith, tawakkul, patience, and gratitude.

That is how THE HIDDEN BEGINNING was born.

This book is my attempt to gently walk alongside Muslim women through the first trimester, combining practical care with reflections from the Qur'an and Sunnah. It is a reminder that looking after your body is part of honouring the trust Allah has placed within you, and that every moment—even the hidden ones—is known to Him.

I pray that Allah accepts this effort, forgives my shortcomings, and makes these words a source of comfort, knowledge, and hope for every sister who reads them.

"And whoever puts their trust in Allah, then He is sufficient for them." (Qur'an 65:3)

One of the most common things you hear today is:

“Islam is too hard.”

People say praying five times a day is exhausting.
They say wudhu takes too much effort.
They complain about using water after using the toilet.
They see hijab as restriction.
They see fasting as suffering.
They see lowering the gaze as impossible.
They see halal and haram as “too strict.”

But the question is:
Did Allah make Islam difficult? Or did we become too distant from understanding its wisdom?

Allah says in the Qur’an:

“Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship.”
— Surah Al-Baqarah 2:185

And He also says:

“He has chosen you and has not placed upon you in the religion any difficulty.”
— Surah Al-Hajj 22:78

So if Allah Himself tells us Islam is not meant to be unbearable, then where does this idea come from?

The Problem Is That People See Rules But Ignore Reasons

Many people look at Islam only from the outside.

They see actions.
They do not see purpose.

They see prayer.
They do not see peace.

They see wudhu.
They do not see purification.

They see modesty.
They do not see protection.

They see fasting.
They do not see discipline.

Islam is not a religion of meaningless restrictions.
Every command carries wisdom, mercy, benefit, or protection — even if we do not fully understand it immediately.

“Why Must Muslims Pray Five Times a Day?”

People act as if salah is a punishment.

But imagine this:
Your Creator — the One who gave you your eyes, lungs, heartbeat, family, rizq, and life — asks you for only a few minutes throughout the day.

Not 24 hours.
Not every second.
Just a few moments to reconnect with Him.

And look at the wisdom behind the prayers:

• Fajr starts your day with Allah.

• Dhuhr pulls you away from dunya in the middle of work.

• Asr reminds you life is running out.

• Maghrib reconnects you before the night settles.

• Isha closes your day with remembrance.

Prayer is not meant to burden you.
It is meant to save you from becoming spiritually empty.

The world gives people anxiety, stress, depression, pressure, and endless distraction.
Salah gives the believer pause, grounding, and remembrance.

“Why Use Water After Urinating?”

Some mock Muslims for cleaning themselves with water after using the toilet.

But this is not extremism.
It is cleanliness.

Islam teaches dignity, hygiene, and purity long before modern conversations about hygiene became common.

The Prophet ﷺ taught cleanliness in incredible detail because Islam is not just about spirituality — it is also about discipline, self-respect, and purity.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

“Purity is half of faith.”

That one statement alone shows how deeply Islam values cleanliness.

“Why Must We Perform Wudhu Before Prayer?”

Because you are preparing to stand before Allah.

People prepare carefully for:

• job interviews,

• weddings,

• meetings,

• photos,

• guests,

• special occasions.

But when standing before the Lord of the worlds, preparation suddenly feels “too much”?

Wudhu is not merely washing body parts.
It is spiritual renewal.

The Prophet ﷺ taught that sins fall away with the drops of water during ablution.

So while some see water,
the believer sees mercy.

Islam Trains the Soul

Islam was never designed to make humans robotic.
It was designed to purify the soul.

That is why Islam teaches:

• patience through fasting,

• discipline through prayer,

• humility through charity,

• modesty through lowering the gaze,

• gratitude through remembrance,

• self-control through halal boundaries.

Without guidance, humans follow desires endlessly.
Islam brings balance.

The World Accepts Hardship for Dunya — But Complains About Islam

This is the strange reality.

People wake up at 5am for work.
Stand for hours in traffic.
Study for years for degrees.
Work overtime for money.
Train painfully for fitness goals.

No one says:

“Life is too hard.”

But when Allah asks for salah?
Suddenly it becomes “too much.”

The issue is not difficulty.
The issue is what people believe is worth sacrificing for.

Islam Is Actually Mercy

Imagine a life without guidance.
No boundaries.
No moral structure.
No purpose.
No remembrance of Allah.

People today have more comfort than many generations before them —
yet many are spiritually lost.

Islam came to guide humanity back to peace.

Not every command will feel easy at first.
Sometimes the soul struggles.
Sometimes habits are hard to break.
Sometimes consistency is difficult.

But difficulty does not mean cruelty.

A student struggles to learn.
An athlete struggles to improve.
A believer struggles to grow.

Growth always requires effort.

The Truth Is: Islam Protects More Than It Restricts

Many Islamic rules people dislike are actually protection disguised as discipline.

• Lowering the gaze protects hearts.

• Modesty protects dignity.

• Salah protects faith.

• Dhikr protects the soul.

• Halal protects society.

• Wudhu protects purity.

• Fasting protects self-control.

Allah does not command things because He needs them from us.
He commands them because we need them.

Final Reflection

Islam is only “hard” when the heart is disconnected from Allah.

When love for Allah enters the heart,
acts of worship stop feeling like chains and start feeling like honor.

The believer eventually realizes:
Allah was never trying to make life difficult.

He was teaching us how to live cleanly, purposefully, spiritually, and successfully — both in this dunya and the akhirah.

May Allah make worship beloved to our hearts, grant us understanding of His religion, and make us among those who hear reminders and reflect upon them.

Ameen.

There are stories in the Qur’an that sound almost unbelievable — until you realize Allah Himself told us about them.

One of those stories is the story of Ya’jooj and Ma’jooj.

Entire nations. Massive in number. A people so destructive that even generations before us feared their corruption. Yet today, many Muslims barely reflect on who they are or what their emergence truly means.

Allah mentioned them in the Qur’an, not as mythology, not as fiction, but as one of the great signs before the end of time.

The People Behind the Barrier

In Surah Al-Kahf, Allah tells us about a righteous ruler named Dhul-Qarnayn. During his travels, he reached a people trapped between two mountains. They complained to him about Ya’jooj and Ma’jooj, saying they spread corruption throughout the land.

So they asked him for help.

Dhul-Qarnayn did not ask them for wealth. Instead, he used strength, iron, and molten copper to build a massive barrier between the mountains — a wall powerful enough to hold back an entire nation.

Allah says they could neither climb over it nor pierce through it.

Imagine how dangerous a people must be for an entire civilization to beg for protection from them.

They Are Still Alive

One of the most chilling parts of this story is this:

The barrier still exists by the permission of Allah.

The Prophet ﷺ told us that Ya’jooj and Ma’jooj continue trying to dig through it. Every single day.

And near the end of time, Allah will allow the barrier to collapse.

Not because they became stronger.
Not because technology advanced.
But because Allah’s decree will come to pass.

When They Are Released

Their emergence will be unlike anything humanity has ever seen.

The Prophet ﷺ described them as overwhelming in number. They will spread rapidly across the earth causing chaos, destruction, and fear. Even Prophet Isa (Jesus) عليه السلام and the believers will seek refuge and make du’a to Allah during that terrifying time.

Think about that carefully.

These are not ordinary trials.

This is one of the final warnings before the Hour.

Why This Story Matters Today

The story of Ya’jooj and Ma’jooj is not just about the future. It is also about the present.

It reminds us that:

• Human strength has limits.

• Corruption has existed throughout history.

• Allah alone controls the rise and fall of nations.

• The signs of the Last Day are closer than we think.

We live in a world obsessed with predictions, conspiracies, and hidden mysteries. But the believer does not need speculation when Allah and His Messenger ﷺ have already informed us of what truly matters.

Our focus should not be obsessing over where the barrier is.

Our focus should be preparing our hearts before the trials arrive.

The Real Question

The real question is not:

“Who are Ya’jooj and Ma’jooj?”

The real question is:

If the signs of the Last Day appeared tomorrow… would we be ready to meet Allah?

May Allah protect us from the trials of this dunya and the trials of the end times. Ameen.

You can still give charity. You can use your tasbih for dhikr and if you want to follow the sunna use your fingers.

You might feel sad because you missed praying, but you can still make dua. Keep saying Astagfirullah.

You can still learn about Islam. Don't just lie and scroll. You can use your mobile in place of the Quran because you're not allowed to touch it.

You're not allowed to fast but cook for someone who's fasting and earn the same reward.

Allah also missed your sujood once your period is over. Make ghusl and start praying.

As salaamu alaykum warahmatullah wabarakatuh

Not everyone who is given power…

remembers Allah.

But “Dhul-Qarnayn” did.

Allah gave him what many people dream of:

* Authority over lands

* Control over people

* The ability to command and be obeyed

And yet… he never said:“I built this.”

He said:“This is a mercy from my Lord.” That changes everything.

Power Didn’t Corrupt Him… It Revealed Him.When he reached different nations, he had the ability to (oppress)…But he chose justice.He didn’t use power to dominate…He used it to “serve”.

The real test is not when you have nothing…It’s when you finally have everything you once wanted.

THE WALL OF YAJUJ AND MAJUJ

People came to him afraid.Vulnerable. Desperate.

They offered him wealth to build protection.He could have taken it.But instead, he said:

“What my Lord has given me is better…” And he helped them anyway.

He had power… but he wasn’t controlled by what people could give him.That is a different level of freedom.

A DANGEROUS TRUTH:

Power doesn’t change people.It exposes what was already inside them.

* If there is arrogance… it will grow

* If there is sincerity… it will shine

That’s why some people become oppressors when they rise… and others become merciful.

Personal Reflection

You may not rule nations…

But Allah has given you “some” level of power:

* Your words

* Your influence

* Your choices

* Your private life

And the question is the same:

When you have the ability to do wrong…

do you still choose what is right?

Final Thought

Dhul-Qarnayn didn’t just build a wall…He built a legacy of humility.

And at the end, he still said: “When the promise of my Lord comes… it will be leveled.”

Even his greatest achievement…he didn’t trust in it.He trusted in Allah.
